Tranquil option for traditional Thai dishes, including pad Thai, satay & curries.
Atmosphere very welcomed as this is my 1st time here, mind you I'm taking food out to go. So I'll say after talking to the manager for help with ordering my food for the family and myself I ask for advice about visiting the country of Thailand πΉπ and kindly told me all I wanted to know. Overall food was excellent customer service 5 stars and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
A very affordable place to eat the classic dishes from Thailand. The service is on point and the food is good, I had the delicious Tom Kha Kai soup and the mango salad which I loved. The satay chicken skewers are the only little disappointment for me, I was hoping for a thicker and more flavorful satay sauce. I must also say that I loved the jazz music in the background, itβs so refreshing to hear elegant relaxing music instead of the usual radio that nobody cares about.
I found out about this place on Google while searching Mango Sticky rice near me. I have to say that the ambiance is amazing, very classy and clean. Service was fast. Nice people. The Mango Sticky Rice was amazing⦠I also tried the Thai iced tea, not my favorite but my mom loved it. I will definitely be back to dine in.
**update this is now my new favorite place I ate in today it was wonderful, small, cozy nice jazz music, good great service and food. It's a hidden gem I had the shrimp with mango curry and we ordered chicken and shrimp drunken noodles. All excellent**They were fast and the drunken noodles were good with a nice tangy kick to it. We found it on Yelp and went back the next day.
Great little hidden gem. I came to visit family and wanted to eat something different from the typical Philly food. We went for a girls dinner before a movie, it was snowing so the place was pretty empty. The place is small but nice. The food the great as were the prices. You must try the Thai iced tea and sweet sticky rice. Four of us ate for $70 including a generous tip, for a place with cloth napkins, that's almost unheard of. I will definitely eat here again when I'm back in town.
Fresh tasty food...we were five and everyone thoroughly enjoyed everything. The drunken noodles are my favorite with a big mound of veggies and shrimp I requested spicy and it was just the right amount of heat. The staff are very nice and do a fine job Very reasonable.
Phenomenal Crispy Duck.
Gold Bags bursting with flavor.
Perfect service.
Like a private dining room
The drunken noodles are always excellent
The food was splendid. It was ready sheβs of my pick up time. Great place to order an authentic Thai dinner from!

Pad Thai noodle was delicious!
Best Chicken Pad Thai ever
We ordered take out. It was my first time having House of Thai. It was SO delicious. I willl be telling all of my friends and family!
Discovering this place was like finding treasure!
You can see the effort, nothing is phoned in.
Fantastic food, even the plating and representation is good!
A great place for locals and visitors to Philly to eat fresh traditional foods.
The food was good, delicious.
Peaceful & Tasty place, wifeβs favorite
Reasonably priced
Twice now only part of my order arrived. When I call they say sorry we are busy. Bye. As good as the food is, they donβt seem to check what goes out and don't seem to care when mistakes are made.
Nice small and quiet place to eat. Very clean and the food is delicious!!! Take some friends!
House of Thai Cuisine is amazing and the owner is so kind!!!! I was visiting from NYC with a coworker for work, and after an amazing meal (also very very affordably priced for the quality compared to some places New York City), I left my wallet at our table and drove back to NYC. I had spoken with Boo, the owner, on the phone and he told me he could mail back my wallet. I was already so thankful and relieved, but I got another call less than 10 minutes later from Boo telling me he spoke with his local mailman of 15 years, and he offered to mail my wallet free of charge! I was going through a high anxiety day already, but the help of Boo and his mailman really restored my faith in humanity hahah. I received my wallet today in the mail all in one piece! Not only does this restaurant have amazing food, but they also have the kindest hospitality that deserve all the love! Thank you so much to Boo for your kindness and patience. Iβll never forget this and will always come for Thai food at House of Thai Cuisine!! β₯οΈ
Surprisingly great!
Freaking awesome food! If you like food that is slightly spicy, but full of other flavors too, try the House of Thai Delight. I could eat that every week. The Mango Chicken is also great and well balanced. The sweet sticky mango rice is the perfect ending. Go no earlier than 7 if you want it quiet. Some noisy people were still getting takeout before then.
great tasty food. excellent service. friendly staff
I love this place. They are the closest Thai place to where I work and they are always fast consistent and friendly. Also accommodating to vegan diets.

Iβve gotten delivery several time but decided to take a date for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the restaurant is. The staff was attentive, the restaurant was clean and the food, as always, is perfectly seasoned. Not the cheapest but certainly worth the cost.

We had Panang curry and Basil Chicken & Vegetables. It was very delicious and light on stomach.
Super relaxing atmosphere, fresh ingredients and flavorful dishes! Our server was attentive and gave excellent service. Highly recommend!!
I have tried the shrimp drunken noodles, pad thai, chicken satay, spring rolls with plum sause everything is so good and fresh!! They are very generous with the portions and dont skimp on the protein/shrimp β€οΈ Also get there Thai Tea its the best ive have in philly!! Hidden Gem in the northeast for sure!! Love this place and I get takeout from here at least once a month!!
Food and service were great. While the restaurant bustled with takeout orders, we were the only diners seated. Unfortunately, they did not have high chairs available for our toddlers.
Love that theyβre open to dine again. Most amazing food service and atmosphereβ¦ A must try!
My go to Thai restaurant! The food is always delicious!
Great food great environment great service
Great food and services !
But need more people to come out and support the restaurant at lunch time and only 1 customer dinning in and two takes out
Please come and support your local businesses
Thank you
The duck salad was sublime. Really delicious. We also had the pad se ew, perfect example of it. Finally a mango red curry, which was good too.
Excellent tasty food, prepared properly, and served by friendly servers. I have been here many times and am always delighted. An extensive menu should satisfy everyone, and the Thai dumplings are delicious. Many inexpensive choices for all tastes. Update March, 2024, as above, still A+
Best thai food that i tasted, their drunken noodle π is really π good.
This would be five stars if my order was right. Out of the 3 times I've ordered only 1 was correct. The 2nd time it was completely wrong and it was a delivery. I didn't get what I asked for. The third time I went to pick it up myself. I checked my name is on the order. My confirmation stated pad Thai. And as soon as I got home completely wrong order once again.
Great experience
Delicious flavors and amazing combinations!!!! Highly recommend ππ
Good service good food
Ordered drunken noodles and papaya salad. Everything was perfectly flavored. The noodles werent oily and the chicken was juicy.
Outstanding food, service and atmosphere
This is hands down the best Thai restaurant in the northeast. & my second favorite Thai restaurant in the city. I'm a big fan of their drunken noodle! Their spicy basil fried rice is always delicious. & you definitely can't go wrong with their red curry or green curry dishes either. If you're in the mood for some delicious Thai cuisine you won't regret stopping in here a bite to eat.
Glad they have Indoor seating again. There food is always terrific.i love there mo dad deaw appetizer
That suff is amazing with the dipping sauce. Going between that and mango sticky rice is amazing combo. We all enjoyed our meals and love sharing the appetizers.
A co worker of mine orders from here a lot and today I decided to get the Drunken Noodles with Chicken. (Not spicy) Iβm glad I ordered the non spicy version , I canβt imagine what the spicy one is like!! It was very tasty full of flavor. I canβt wait to try some of their other items on the menu!!
really good!
While in the area, we happened to stumble upon this place. We dined in on a Wednesday night. Though we were the only ones in the restaurant, there was a revolving door of people coming in to pick up their orders. That's a good sign to know that their food is good. We ordered a variety of fried rice dishes.. I've never seen so many options for fried rice as they do at House of Thai Cuisine. Each dish had its own distinct flavor, and they were absolutely delicious! I had some leftovers packed and was craving to devour it the next day. Although the staff wasn't the friendliest, they were respectful and tended to our needs. I'm not sure if it was an off day for them, but nonetheless, the food makes up for it all. If I'm ever back in the area, I will be sure to eat here again. You should too!
Everything is so delicious, dumplings are amazing π€€
One of a few Thai restaurants in Northeast Philly that made food closer to authenticity.
Best Thai restaurant I've been to so far in Philly! Very affordable and everything was super delicious. It's a bit of a drive from the city but it's 100% worth it! Give 'em a try!
Hands down the BEST Thai food you can find in the city of Philadelphia. MUST TRY. Make sure you get a Thai Tea while you're there too!β€οΈπ«‘
Iβve had so many pad Thaiβs and by far this restaurant has the best one!
Everything was delicious!!!
1st time here (take out) and will DEFINITELY go again. I had the curry puffs, drunken noodles, and mango sticky rice. Everything was delicious. π
The food was so delicious I just had to leave a review! Mango sticky rice was my favorite! Drunken noodles were perfectly cooked not soggy, the rice was flavorful and the satay was not dry! Definitely recommend will be ordering again!
No dine in, take out only. Pad Tai the best! We also love their fried rice dishes.
Best Thai food in Philly
Fantastic food. Great service. The Duck is absolutely amazing. Treat yourself. You wonβt be disappointed. Calamari is awesome.
I happen to stumble upon this hidden gem way back in 2014β¦ theyβre amazing always have been. Iβve brought dates, Iβve brought family and I brought friends, not once have I ever been disappointed. My favorite is always the calamari! I get their salmon with white rice or the pad Thai both amazing. There isnβt any other Thai place Iβve tried in the city yet that compares. The only issue I currently have is theyβre still take out only, with what seems to be no timeline of when theyβll go back to normalcyβ¦ For those patrons whoβve come and supported this place for years, like myself we want the DINE IN experience back! Which is the only reason I had to remove a star.
Food is delicious but boiling hot food in a plastic container canβt be safe, definitely BPA chemicals leeching into the food π€·π½ββοΈ
We happened to receive this on an accident the other night when our grubhub driver gave us the wrong order. We received the honey duck and drunken noodles with the sticky rice. It was SO GOOD. I had to figure out where it came from. Tonight we ordered from here again and EVERYTHING was amazing. We got the golden shrimp, the golden bags, massaman pork curry, honey duck and the curry puffs. OMGGGG. I cant believe I have slept on this place. Seriously such good flavors so much depth. Highly recommend.
The food was amazing, I love taking my wife out to her favorite restaurant.
The food here is always amazing
I really enjoy the food but I recommend skipping the appetizers. They are just ok and definitely not worth the cost. The curryβs are definitely top notch
Food was very delicious and flavorful. One thing to keep in mind is itβs take out and delivery only at the moment.
Delivery and take out only but it says it nowhere on their page or info. It literally says dine in on it. No dine in. I traveled a good distance by public transport only to learn this.
Great food. Very nice people. Not expensive. A must try. Best tilapia dish i had. The sticky rice dessert. Yummy!
This is currently open only for take out. I went there expecting to dine in. It's disappointing. Hope it is updated on google maps.
Chicken Pad thai & Chicken drunken noodles are both favorites! Chicken satay is also really tasty appetizer. One of the best thai restaurants I have tried in the Philly area hands down.
They'll sub tofu for meat in almost anything. Absolutely delicious noodles and curries and soups. Very well balanced. Fast and polite service.
Drunkin noodles!!
BYOB
Best Thai Place In The City!!!
*Takeout review*
Food: 5/5
Parking: Street Meter Parking
House of Thai was recommended to me by couple of my colleagues, some of which would drive 30 minutes just for their food. After ordering couple popular items, I can see why.
At the time of my arrival, there was some minor construction ongoing. But that didn't impact my experience, since we ordered for takeout.
What was ordered:
Spring Rolls (Good)
Thai Fried Rice - with Chicken (Delicious)
Drunken Noodle (Absolutely delicious) - I can see why it is so popular. I would not hesitate to order this dish every single time. It is packed with flavor, and the food is thoroughly cooked, tasted very fresh.
If you are in the area, highly recommend giving this restaurant a try.
Absolutely divine.
Highly suggest the curry puffs.
Best Thai food in Philadelphia!
The BEST Thai Tea I ever had!!
This is a take out restaurant only right now do to COVID
Great drunk noodles. Friendly service. No dine in for now so call ahead to order.
Food was great!
Overpriced. I had pad Thai and it was just ok. Iβve definitely had better.
I have visited Thailand several times in my life however, I have never tasted Thai food as good as House of Thai Cuisine on Cottman Avenue!!
Excellent as always.
Delicious! Well seasoned pad thai, tasty soup packed with umami, and light and balanced mango sticky rice
It was amaaaaazing took a lil long but the food was amazing π
Delicious food and beautiful place, a little expensive!
Very good food. Wished menu was a little mote expanded. Ex, appetizers with duck, more varied options for Pad Thai dishes like jungle princess.
My husband and I love their food. Ambiance is very relaxing and zen-like. Can't wait to go back.
Amazing food, quick service. Best Thai food ever. Owner is always so kind. Beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommended.
I love their drunken noodles!
Best Thai food in the city!! Canβt beat the price too! ππ
Best food I had in a long time! Pretty amazed will definitely be ordering again.
Awesome food and friendly staffs. I love the pad woosen aka glass noodles dish and the sweet black soy sauce flat rice noodles dish. Never disappointed. Delicious!!
See my old review below & gave that place 5 starts before BUT now everything changed. It feels like it changed the ownership. I ordered food & it wasn't even close to what it was before. I wouldn't recommend it now."I absolutely love this place. Very minimalistic, modern & very pleasant restaurant decor. Food is very good & it is specially with to come during the lunch time. 3 course lunch is only $12. I can only compare this restaurant to Royal Thai Orchid in Malvern, other Thai places I went never came close to this 2."
There are a few comfort foods and drinks I turn to on a bad day, one of which is Iced Thai Tea. Am I writing a review just about a drink? No but I will admit that I often visit just for the tea. It is SOOOOooo good but the food is too (the Chicken Coconut Soup is one of my go-tos). Plus, the gentleman working at the door could not be kinder and more polite. I'll be there again soon...actually, probably today.
This is really, really, really good. It's not at all in a location where you'd think such good Thai food would be, yet somehow by the Grace of God it found its way here to bestow its dishes of joy unto all of us. I especially recommend the Massaman Curry or the Tofu Special, but they haven't gone wrong with us yet!
Love this place. Staff is very friendly and food is really good. My fave is chicken/shrimp in Penang sauce or Shrimp Pad Thai and my fave dessert mango sticky rice. Location is great and their service is fast
Really dissapointed. In the past, we've ordered from you many times and have promoted you to be the place for Thai food in Philly if not in the Northeast. We've taken our family there to dine and have have promoted you to all of our friends...which makes our most recent experience even more dissapointing. We're all experiencing tough times. Our hard earned money is even harder to earn these days. So considering the fact that you've chosen to serve us, then we've considered to return the favor. This is a relationship. So for tonight, we ordered 2 appetizers and an entree: chicken skewers, papaya salad, and drunken noodles with squid and shrimp. Total $33.32. Chicken skewers: we got 4 skewers with peanut sauce fine. Papaya salad: its a vegetable salad, fine. Noodles: the rice noodles were broken which hinted that they were either extremely overcooked or overdue. The shrimp and squid was pasty and reeked which hinted tha they were a day close to being spoiled. Honestly, if you can't serve fresh food, then let us know, we'll glady support you by ordering something else from the menu. You don't charge "take out" prices so don't feed us "take out" food because if that's what you've decided to offer, then we have better options. This is $33 dollars for 2 people..for something we could've easily. gotten for $15. You've decided to cater to a specific clientele and with that comes some level of expectation...if you've decided it is not your intention anymore, then that fine. Then we'll have to reconsider our relationship. Very disappointing.

I have to say, House of Thai is some of the best, most quality food I've ever had. I've been going there for 3-4 years and I have never had a bad meal. It is extremely clean, nice staff, and incredible flavor. Coming from a foodie, I recommend this place a million.
Authentic Thai cuisine that is out of this world. I take everyone I know to this restaurant first and we absolutely love it. From the seafood soup to the green curry duck "my personal favorites", to the best fried rice in the Northeast if not the city. Definitely check this place out!
The calamari was fresh and tender and the dipping sauce was delicious. My pad Thai was flavorful and a huge portion. I wish I had known about this place sooner. Excellent Thai food, will order again and try more dishes
This is a hidden gem in Northeast Philadelphia. I have been there many times and it was always a great experience. Due to COVID, they only offer take out and I recently placed an order. Do you know how the food tasted? Fantastic! Let's support our local restaurants during these uncertain times.
Fantastic Thai Food. Ib don't usually go for dipping sauces but whatever they use with the spring rolls very very tasty.
I recommend any of the curry dishes but my favorite is red. ( If you haven't had a Thai curry it's like a stew you eat over rice).
I also like the drunken noodles. They have always tasted oddly familiar and exotic to me.
Fresh, delicious Thai food in the North East? It's true! It really is a great place to eat!
The flavor of the food was phenomenal! Best Thai food Iβve had in a long while. The waiter was also very accommodating. Iβm definitely going to go back soon!
I ordered the Siam chicken it comes with rice, string beans, broccoli and peanut sauce. Everything was delicious, the best peanut sauce Iβve ever tried. A few days ago I ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp and chicken. The best in town no exaggeration π. It tasted way better than I was expecting. Their Thai tea isnβt overly sweet itβs just right.
My go to Thai spot, always so delicious. We usually stick to drunken noodles, papaya salad, garlic shrimp, veggie spring rolls and spicy eggplant. All so good. Very clean and great quality this establishment is.
Good food
Atmosphere and decor is amazing. The music sets the mood . very relaxing. Food is delicious. The spring rolls are the best. The waitress is soooo nice . byob also . π
My absolute favorite Thai restaurant!!! The food is delicious, fresh, and high-quality -- we rarely have left-overs but finish very satisfied. Our go-to items are the popular Spring Rolls, Thai Dumplings, Pad Thai, and Drunken Noodle. House of Thai always provides a pleasant dine-in experience with chic decor, excellent wait staff, and refreshing cleanliness. Love this place!
Awesome food!!!!!!!!!
The food is always spot on. Boo,the owner awesome. Service impeccable.
Love this restaurant, one of my favorite places to dine. The prices are fair and the customer service is excellent... also, the Shrimp Pad Thai is delicious! πππΎ
They give you a little bit of food I was still hungry
Delicious! Be aware this is not a fast takeout with large portions. This place makes high quality food with moderate portions. I was a bit disappointed when I saw the size of the meal for what we paid but after tasting the food, I think it was a good value for the price. I will admit, slightly larger portions might have added this to the lust of places I visit regularly for lunch orders. Still, worth a try. It was delicious.
My favorite Thai place
The waiter has no personality.
Food was excellent and service was great.
Absolutely delicious food!! Beautiful presentations and nice portions. Like to try something different every time we go and always enjoy it, never disappointed.
The food is great, but they recently cut back on menu options. I miss the pad se eu with veggie based protein. Still, you really should check this place out!
I had the shrimp drunken noodles and it was so good. My daughter had the chicken drunken noodles and loved it.
My absolute favorite thai restaurant in Philly. I used to work closeby and would go for lunch often. They have an unbeatable lunch special- salad with this incredible peanut dressing, soup or eggroll, and an entree for like $10. The service was always impeccable and the food is consistently delicious.
Very cozy atmosphere
Good eating
We have been here multiple times over the past 7 years and we're never disappointed. My favorite go to meal... Mango Curry, my son and husband both love the Drunken Noodles. Sit in or carry out, service is great and food is even better!
Excellent!! Always!!!
The ombionce
Really good food.
Amazing drunken noodles & vegetable dumplings. Will definitely go backπ
Great food, great prices, never have to wait. Best Asian food around.
Love all their food
Good food and service.
Small & Quaint. Excellent food and service.
It's been awhile since I've gone to this place so I couldn't find photos but I'm a big fan of Pad Thai..good lunch specials and pretty quiet Ambience considering the Busy Cottman Street I would definitely check it out at least!
I ordered Shrimp Pad Thai and it was amazing, I also ordered a Thai tea which in my opinion wasnβt sweet enough. I did find them to be a bit pricey as well. For just pad Thai and a tea it was just about $20. I visited around 5:45pm on a Tuesday and it was just me and one other person in there. Very clean in the inside, nice relaxing music in the background and I had no issues with staff. I would recommend for couples or maybe a pair of friends! Parking is sufficient enough, I was able to find a spot easy considering it was rush hour! All and all I do recommend and I will be back!
Love every food in here.I think this place is the best place for Thai food.
