One of the best restaurants in the area, we went there twice so far and the food was really good.
My son loves their chicken fried rice and my favorites so far are the chicken satay, pad basil eggplant with beef and the sweet & sour seafood mix. Their brown rice also has a really unique taste that was new to me.
Tom yum soup and red Thai curry with shrimp are the best! I was driving by, looking for some Asian cuisine, when I noticed a signboard indicating that they offered halal food. I decided to order these two dishes, and I absolutely loved the taste! 💯 I will definitely come back to try the mango sticky rice and red snapper with ginger next time.
I’m heartbroken. Thai Origin used to be my favorite Thai food in my area. We ate there many times over the years and never had a bad experience. Tonight, however was a totally different story.
We arrived at 4:30 just as they opened for dinner. I joked about the sign on the door that said “under new management”. It is, and it’s not good. The restaurant was FREEZING. Not just a little chilly, but cold enough we couldn’t take off our coats. Then I watched as they left the back door wide open for a couple minutes bringing stuff in. Seriously? Close the door between trips when your place is 55 degrees inside.
It was overall unsettling and weird. We were the only people there for the 35 minutes we stayed. 15 of which were spent with menus, no offer of drinks until we eventually ordered, while the waiter putzed around with his shirt, tables, stuff in the back, and whatever was behind the desk. Like we, who had come to pay were an afterthought. They didn’t even bother to put on music so it was awkwardly quiet.
It was so miserable and cold we got our food to go and left, hoping the food at least was like the old Thai Origin.
No such luck. The dipping sauce for the appetizer was like water. So diluted it just ran off. Same for the sauce in my cashew stir fry, which had exactly 6 cashews in. The flavor of the sauce water was decent, but I had to eat it like a soup. It was never like that before. A little cornstarch could have thickened that to a proper sauce.
Unfortunately we won’t be back.
My Wife and I pass this Restaurant quite frequently and never ventured in, however Today we decided to Try them out. Wow!! Absolutely out of this World. We never expected to leave so satisfied with Every dish being a Hit. We had the Som Tum Veggie Soup, Thai Chix Dumplings, Papaya Salad, my Wife had the Garlic Pepper Snapper and I had Shrimp Pad Pak, Welcome to Flavor Town. Highly Recommend!!
If you like tasty food this is the place! They provided 2 massive trays of drunken noodles for a get together I was hosting. From the kind and welcoming service to the delicious food. I highly recommend visiting this establishment.
Had the Penang curry, this was delectable.
Will definitely go again
Had a great mango curry with tofu. Was delicious. Perfect flavor and portion. My sister had the green curry. She was very happy as well.
The food is good but it's not a very relaxing atmosphere. The customers who frequent here are constantly blaring videos on their phones and taking loud facetime calls. Order to go and spare yourself the headache.
Why you closed to early 😕

I used to love this restaurant but the quality has come down over the years. Recently I ordered via GrubHub, a chicken soup which had a piece of metallic wrapper floating in it and pineapple fried rice had hair in it. Prior to that, I ordered Tom Yum Soup (pick up) and the plastic container lid melted in the center creating a slit from where all the soup leaked. I did notify the restaurant manager and she mentioned she will inform the owner.
If you like tasty food this is the place! They provided 2 massive trays of drunken noodles for a get together I was hosting. From the kind and welcoming service to the delicious food. I highly recommend visiting this establishment.

Buyer Beware! I feel it is important to write a review for this restaurant. I called in an order to go and requested mild spice Chu Chi salmon and received the worst spicy over cooked salmon. Upon arrival for pickup I reminded mild spice however employee said "they already prepared the dish" and said "she will add coconut to make it not spicy" Right then I should have refused. Clearly they forgot to tell the cook! Not one customer in the restaurant not sure how they messed up the order.
My staff purchased $100 gift card for which I used $26 and had a $77 balance left. I checked out now have $44 balance left. The cashier politely asked if I could use the rest of the balance before the end of the year. Not sure why but I said I'll try.
While driving home I received a phone call from the restaurant saying we can not redeem the rest of the balance since there is a new owner. NOT A SMART BUSINESS DECISION.
If you buy the business, keep the same name and menu WHY don't you honor the gift certificates?
I'm sorry but l will go across the street to Thai Avenue in the future.
Great food and friendly staff! Will be coming back again with friends !

Really really tasty Tofu Prik Pao
Excellent food. Excellent service. I found the the red curry fried duck most delicious!
Food is so delicious, I really liked the duck curry.
I pass by this place frequently on the way to work. So today I decided stop by and try it out. Today's lunch was a real treat! I stopped by and was blown away by the incredible food - the best I've had in ages! The flavor was so inspiring, the Tom kha soup was just right, especially on a cold day like today. And the curry puffs? Pure bliss! I'd definitely recommend this place to everyone! I'm a chef and omg flavors I have never experienced quite like this. Please stop by everyone you'll thank me later.
First time eating there with my husband. We ordered prik pao & teriyaki chicken & egg rolls. Omg the food was nothing like Thai food. They served egg rolls that was hot outside and frozen inside. They gave us boiled chicken & veggies with some super diluted sauce. People who came after us got their food first ! This Thai place don’t know how to cook Thai. They took more than 40 min to serve food. We are never going back there!!! Horrible place !!!!
Staff had been very attentive and nice. Had pad thai, masaman curry, vegetable dumplings and spring rolls. Everything was good.
Thai Origin changed ownership about a week ago and rebranded from Thai Origin to Halal Thai Origin. The quality of the food (and recipes) changed significantly for the worse. The service, while polite, is inadequate. Order accuracy nose dived (main entrees missed) and simple questions about menu item ingredients were surprisingly challenging to navigate.
So disappointed 😞
I ordered vegetable Pad Pak today with extra vegetables ($4 up charge) and shrimp ($6 up charge).
The egg roll was small and thick. I had 3 large or regular sized shrimp. That’s $2 per shrimp. It did not seem that I received any extra vegetables. It was disappointing and expensive.
Disappointment in menu. Limited. Had to change my order twice. We had to wait for over an hour to get an online order. Food was good but not the same.
Good was very good. Very poor air conditioning.
Excellent casual Thai place. The menu has everything you want from an American Thai joint plus a few extra interesting items. Everything was delicious!
The entire menu is halal . Even though the restaurant google listing doesn’t say it’s halal. We had the green curry it was delicious. The chicken satay was good as well . But I felt like the basil fried rice was lacking some flavor . Overall it’s good . Definitely checkout the spot if you are looking for a halal Thai food in Lehigh valley area.
Expensive for Allentown market; prices are not what we expected. The patay dish was a bit fishy compared to our experience with Thai cuisine; the entree price is also a let down. The curry dishes were watery- we are accustomed to thicker curry- here, the density of the curry was “thin.” Our appetizer - vegetable - dumplings- were thin and soggy (excess water). The service was attentive and cordial; the ambiance was nice and pleasant: ample parking. We concluded that the prices for entree and appetizer dishes are not competitive with our experience in this local market.
Food was really good. The serve small portions which was just right for me however I’m used to having left overs. The soup was good it was just a small very portion. Past that a good experience. Atmosphere is decent I would love if it was more culturally Thai oriented due the name of the restaurant.
Comfy place, delicious home cooked flavors, very kind and courteous service.
Good food and service.
I would like to commend the place for it’s great service. The staff was attentive. I would not come back for the food as the rice was not fresh but cold and the food was average in taste. The food was basic.
Delicious food & service is always great!
Omg the coconut rice🤤 I go just for that
Food was so good and fresh. We took dumpling and my son loved it
Great place. I highly recommend this place.

Walkable from the Tesla charging station. Very quiet so I took a work call. Fast service while you charge. Food and service are what you'd expect - just enough.
Food is amazing, staff is great!
Be careful with take orders…often incorrect. Disappointing experience.
Amazing halal Thai food in Allentown! Tim yum soup 💯, pad thai 💯,thai tea 💯,service was 💯
Need to go again to try more food from the menu.
Best Thai in Lehigh valley! Amazing service and nice ambiance!
Worst food even
Ordered Fried rice and spring roll
Very bad taste
This is a late review, but very much overdue. Ate here April 15th on a whim with my family after an Escape Room. Two of the people in my group said they didn't like Thai food. My wife, daughter and I have eaten Thai ALL over the world. This place was some of the best food we have ever had! Reasonably priced compared to other Thai restaurants in the area, BYOB, oh and did I mention how great the food is. I could list all the foods we ordered and tell you how great they were, but I couldn't pick a favorite. They were all that good. Needless to say, they converted two people who said they would never eat Thai food to Thai food addicts and this spot has become my go to place for Thai in Allentown.
The food is fresh and very authentic. One of the only Asian restaurants in the area that is authentic and delicious.
New favorite restaurant to get delicious pad Thai and appetizers. My partner and I loved our meal; it was ready so quickly and everything was hot and yummy. Highly recommend the curry puffs.
I went there with my friend. I'm Thai, but he's American. He likes his fried rice, but I think his disk is too soggy. I ordered a drunken beef noodle - Thai spicy, but I had to ask for red pepper because it's not spicy enough. However, that is still not the main thing. As for Drunken noodles, if they made it right, they should add a lot more basil and the beef should be sliced thinner. If you are not Thai, you might not be able to spot all of these things, but I can. If you are not Thai, you might be able to enjoy the food there, but I can't because I know better and I have had a lot better.
First visit to Thai Origin and it was Outstanding!!!!! Can't wait to return. Meal portions are generous and well prepared. Service is very friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxing...BYOB is also a welcome addition!
Very nice and good quality food
Food was yummy. Spice is mild, but they will bring chili paste to your table upon request. Prices were reasonable. Atmosphere was comfortable, and service was great.
I've been here many times. Always friendly. Always tasty.
Went with the family, about 8 of us. The appetizers were great and so were the entrees. Tom yum soup amazing. Service was really nice. And it’s halal!
Amazing halal food, hosts were very gracious. Highly recommended for anyone passing through. Thank you
Service was great! The halal Food was definitely solid and delicious. Will be coming back when I’m here in town.
Great gem in the middle of nowhere. Food quality was great. The Thai tea was awesome. We ordered a large quantity and there was little wait.
The sweet & sour chicken is amazing
One of the best tasting and best value thai food restaurants in the Lehigh Valley.
delicious! no wait. i was a bit concerned at first since they were able to seat us, party of 8, right away without a reservation. but the food was amazing and the 2 women serving us were the owners! gracious, fantastic hospitality and we all were over-full. we stayed past their closing time as we blissfully ate. i will definitely be eating here as often as possible. very easy to travel - very close to the turnpike. sep 2022
You can not go wrong with Pad Thai at this place!
Food is great and staff is friendly. Quantity of the food and even a little of thr quality has gone down slightly
Clean, friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be returning
The whole staff was so friendly and very complimentary! Food was even better! The Tom Yum chicken was just splendid! Definitely recommend and will be coming here as my go to Thai restaurant
I can not say enough good things about this place to do it justice. Everything is perfect from the food to the staff to the setting. We always have a delicious and peaceful meal. Before moving to the Lehigh Valley we would always make it a point to stop here when we made the hour journey out to go shopping or run errands. Now that we live here in the valley I have tried a few other Thai restaurants due to convenience of time and location and none even come close to Thai Origin. The veggies are always very fresh. The mango sticky rice is to die for and they will only offer it as an option when Mangoes are in season because they want it to be quality every time. They are the only eatery we have ever been to that can really bring the spice despite always asking other places to make our food extra spicy. Not to mention this gives me a reason to order 4 delicious Thai Iced Teas. We love you, Thai Origin. Please never change.
I got the chicken Panang curry, the rice was mushy and the string beans tasted raw.
Been coming here for lunch for years now and never had a bad experience. Food is always delicious and the price is reasonable.
I frequent 2 other Thai restaurants in the area and each one has its own identity which is good as I can always come back here for their style of cooking.
I'm happy covid did not take this place out as it would have been a shame. Also happy you can dine inside again.
The brown Thai sauce is definitely the most flavourful of all the others.
Owner is very friendly and humble and definitely appreciates the support.
I got the pineapple rice with chicken. The food was fresh and filling. I wish I would've taken a picture. Next time. The service was quick. I will definitely eat there again.
Their curry puffs are to die for. I tried Mango Curry and it was perfect. I was so hungry I forgot to take a pic, sorry!
Try them! We arrived a little after 12 pm and there wasn't a crowd, if that is an issue fir you.
Service was also excellent.
Excellent experience every time. Food is awesome and comes out super quick. The staff is attentive. The facility is always clean. Perfect spot for lunch if you're anywhere near the area. Drunken noodles for the win!
We've had the curry and the drunken noodle. Both were very good.
My order was the red curry duck, plus edamame and side orders. On the plus side, this food was seriously tasty (medium spicy). On the downside, the portions were small, and the duck entree was VERY dry -- almost no sauce/juice with this dish.
Best thai food in the Valley. The lunch specials include a spring roll and soup and are reasonably priced. Recommend the pad ginger, prik khing, sambal or drunken noodles. If you love spicy, aromatic food, this is a place you can't miss.
Ordered Pad Thai. We were starving so we ate everything but kind of greasy and on the sweeter side.
This food is delicious and healthy. I thought it was sad to see 20 cars backed up at the Wendy's drive thru across the street and then no one in this little gem. I am very glad to have found this
Great food! Yummy ingredients! We will be back!
Amazing authentic food here. Will come back!!
Their drunken noodles are to die for! Also you won't be disappointed with their curry meals
The basil duck was incredible.
Front desk/owner is way too rude. We had a big family and were ready to split it up too. But they didn’t allow. I understand but there is a way to say things. Moreover what difference does it make if we split the group and come in as group of 4 with 5 mins difference.
First time trying Thia food. Definitely going back.
Drunken noodles is really good !! Must try
Favorite Thai restaurant in the lehigh valley!
Great food, courteous and friendly staff, and very clean. Highly recommended.
The curry puffs are delicious, would recommend!
Got two meals to go for dinner. Entrees were absurdly small for $15. Rice was an extra $2. Spent $35 for 2 small portions that werent filling and both sauces on the entrees were watery.
Great food and one of the cleanest kitchens I've ever seen!
Best Thai food around. Friendly staff and great food.
My favorite place to come when I travel to the area for work. Super authentic and delicious food!
Fantastic service and delicious food!!
What a wonderful restaurant! Especially during COVID, the owner goes above and beyond to make sure her customers are happy. They currently don’t offer delivery but due to the circumstances, she personally delivered a meal around the block. What a sweetheart! The food is phenomenal as well. I can’t wait to go back once life is normal again.
Terrible service!!! Do NOT come here!!!
Phone was busy, so we ordered to pick up via doordash. When we arrived, the restaurant said they don't have our order (already paid via doordash) and there was nothing they could do about it. Not willing to help at all.
We had to call doordash customer service and ask them to cancel it because the restaurant was unable to fulfill the order.
Wasted money, wasted gas, wasted time... worst of all, rude service at the restaurant not trying to help and sort it out their own mistake.
Absolutely the best in town!!! Food is excellent!! Staff is always so friendly. We love it here!
This place is so delish. Every dish is delicious super flavorful, but not over-sauced and all the ingredients taste fresh. My husband and I don’t live super close to this place but we crave this place and make it a point to make trips so we can go there and treat ourselves to some of the best Thai around.
Very good food and very friendly staff.
Terrible service! If the owners would like to reach out to me I will explain in detail.
Went as a group of five, no reservations needed. Got seated immediately, and was allowed to bring our own wine which they provided glasses for. Place was clean, appetizers and entrees were great.
My entire family LOVES Thai food, and the only great place around us closed a few years ago. We tried Thai Origins, expecting to be let down like usual, but this place is AMAZING!!! Fabulous food, wonderful welcoming service & fair prices! We have a Thai restaurant 5 min from our house in Emmaus that is TERRIBLE, and we gladly drive the 15-20 min to eat at Thai Origins at least once a week!
Friendly staff, willing and able to make any adjustments to accommodate for allergies and/or special dietary requirements. Love the Pad Kra Prow, Pad Prik Khing, and yay Curry Puffs!
Delicious food. Excellent service.
Best value Thai food around:
Out of the handful of Thai options in the Lehigh/Saucon Valley area, this ranks as one of my favorites. Food quality rivals the high-end places without the high prices. And the quantity is generous for the price. This place is my new go-to for Thai.
Vegan-friendly:
While I haven't tried everything yet, so far they've had no problem making the rice and noodle entrees vegan.
Entrees:
I’ve tried 7 entrees so far and haven’t been disappointed yet. Some highlights:
Sweet & Sour - had bold flavor which was exciting
Pineapple fried rice - probably earns 2nd or maybe 3rd place on my best pineapple fried rice list which is high marks.
Drunken noodle - delivered the heat I hoped it would. Very tasty and will be getting again.
Pad Thai - this was good... I've had so many dry Pad Thais so it was nice this one was moist but some interesting flavors here that might be a bit divisive.
Eggplant - wow this was hot and yet so flavorful... very good.
Great Thai food, service a bit slow.
Very good Thai food. Delicious. Friendly service.
Tried 3 appatizers and 4 entrees, everything was hot and de-lish. The heat levels differ and all good. Their currys are fantastic
Found it on Google Maps. Tried it and loved it. Open on Sunday! Sunday lunch was good, fresh and spicy enough (medium level); service prompt and friendly. Kit from the other Thai restaurant is now a part owner; he even remembered Thai tea I liked from 6 years ago. Definitely coming back for more.
excellent service, really good food especially the wings and tom yum soup
This was my first time coming to this restaurant and I was really excited because Thai food is my favorite. I was not disappointed because it was so fresh and so authentic. Everyone was so pleasant and we ate so much. I’ll be coming back!
I had no idea that this place was here but after today it will be a staple to my travels. Stopped here while charging my Tesla (hint hint Tesla owners)
I've been to a lot of Thai restaurants in the valley and this is up there with the best of them. Great pricing for lunch and fresh vegetables were refreshing. Soup was good, I got drunken noodles with chicken, perfect dish. I will be back!
We stopped in on a whim. Great food excellent service. So good went back the second night to try the pineapple stirfry. Did not disappoint. Looking forward to trying some more of their food.
Great place to eat
excellent food. very clean. freshly prepared. been twice - clear veg soup and fresh rolls .
We were in the area and decided to pop in for dinner. The menu was expansive but we stuck with the basics. Drunken noodles with pork and panang curry with chicken. Both dishes were excellent. The drunken noodles was spiced just right with two chilies. The panang curry was balanced and had plenty of veggies. Overall, worth a visit.
Best Thai restaurant in the Lehigh Valley!
Food is delicious. Very hearty portions. Very friendly staff. I'm coming back and bringing more friends
Drunken noodle is fantastic.
My girlfriend and I came here for dinner
We didn't like the food as it was tasteless and under par. 2 appetizers and 1 entree; felt is was over priced for the quality. The host/server was nice and took care of the situation. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.
Food was fantastic and the service was attentive and friendly.
Food was decent, though fish was too dry / too deep fried. Service was very slow. I went to the Wendy's next door for a quick snack, ate there and then came back and my meal still wasn't ready. They also ran out mango for my favorite Thai desert :(
Exceptional food and service thank you, if you find yourself near the area please stop by and enjoy it with family and friends.
Really good Thai food and large portions. Definitely recommended.
4.5 Very good drunken noodles and wonton soup.
Best drunken noodles I’ve ever had!
We tried this out this weekend and it was good. The service was quick for lunch. All the food was well prepared and presented. Everything tasted quite good. I got medium spice, but next time will get hot, as the heat level was a bit low for my taste on the fried basil rice dish.
Food is outstanding! Very pleased with the red curry chicken.
Gross
Just test by picture. I already knew the taste. Delicious for sure. Wanna eat them all. 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Best Thai food in the area! My husband and I live in Upper Macungie and we usually have to drive to Bethlehem for authentic thai food. Not anymore! We ordered Spring rolls, Chicken satay, Beef Pad See Eew and chicken Pad woon Sein. We arrived close to closing time but, the servers were still friendly. They didn't mind chatting with us about their new restaurant. We are originally from NYC and this restaurant reminds of home. We will definitely make this a first pick weekend lunch or dinner spot!
Deliciousness! Can't wait to come back again.
The food was great, and very good service. I recommend
We recently ordered food from here and it was. Very flavorful. We ordered veg spring roll, drunken noodles with tofu and red curry with tofu. Everything was tasty and had good spice level. The staff is extremely friendly and polite. Highly recommended
A must try if you enjoy Thai
Appetizers of delicious crab ragoon , better than Chinese, and the very best wings, very crunchy and moist. We also enjoyed Tom yum soup, mine with chicken, his with shrimp.
My husband loved his red curry duck, crunchy skin, perfectly prepared fresh vegetables and it was half of a duck. My red curry chicken was delicious and enough for three meals. One friend also had the duck, the other, sweet and sour shrimp, also good and a generous serving.
Friendly staff. Freshly prepared food, lovely presentation and generous servings.
BYO
Chicken satay was especially flavorful. Fresh rolls were delicious. Red curry duck was excellent: Crunchy skin, moist inside, perfectly done. Drunken Noodles on par or better than at similar Thai restaurants in the area
Food was excellent and so was the service. I think I have a new favorite for Thai!
Great service and delicious food
This place is outstanding! We have dined here on multiple occasions and have never been disappointed. The staff is super attentive without being intrusive and the food is sublime . Pictures are tonight’s entrees , “Seafood in Love “ and “Seafood pad pong karee”.... so hard to choose a favorite. Run , don’t walk to try this new Lehigh Valley restaurant.
We went for lunch and had the Green Curry from the lunch menu. It came with soup, which was good; a small spring roll, which was really good; and the Green Curry was excellent. Good service, nice clean setting. A very nice experience. We'll definitely go back. I'll try the Pad Thai next time.
We stopped for takeout on a road trip across the country (there’s a Tesla Supercharger in the parking lot) and the food was amazing! What a nice find. I just had the chicken panang curry, but it was at least as good as anything I had in Thailand last year.
If you’re shy about spicy food, I recommend being upfront about it. We ordered our curry mild, and it still had a bit of spice — perfect for me, but maybe too much for some people.
Nice atmosphere very friendly staff and outstanding Thai food. Strongly recommend.
New restaurant , first time very nice .
We learned about this new Thai restaurant, saw the great reviews, and decided to give it a shot. Great experience!
We had the curry puff appetizer, drunken noodles, and pineapple fried rice. Everything was tasty, hot, well cooked, and plentiful. The hostess/waitress was very attentive and pleasant.
Needless to say, we will be going back!
First time trying Thai food, I was NOT disappointed! The atmosphere was classy and inviting. The food was even better. It made my mouth ask for more. I highly recommend the appetizer the Thai origin Boom, it's a deep fried dumpling served with a wonderful sweet chili sauce. As an entree I devoured the Pad Pak, a beautiful vegetable stir fry with added shrimp. The prices definitely match the quality of food. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to enjoy good food with an enjoyable date night atmosphere.
The food and service was exceptional! The staff were incredibly friendly and the amount of food you get as well as the quality of the food is well worth the moderate price tag! Will be returning!
Good food! Loved the interior design and ambience. Would highly recommend!
We have been to Thai Origin four times within its first two weeks of opening. The hospitality and authentic Thai food can not be beat. They will meet your dietary needs.
