Simple neighborhood standby for noodles, curries, wontons, pad Thai, soup & other Thai eats.
Absolutely not. Placed an order for doordash here. After the order was accepted. Which means they agree to make the order and accept the funds from your card. I arrive, and there are two shady people outside telling me they are closed and they don't have my order. I contact doordash, and they also tell me that I'm shit out of luck. They offered to put it back on my card in 5-7 business days or give me their trash store credit. Neither of which are acceptable options for something that was entirely their fault. I speak with what I assume to be the staff outside again. They also refuse to assist. So basically, they stole my order and refused to be bothered to give me a refund.
Quaint little place with good food and service! Our server was very sweet and attentive (to be fair, we were the only ones in there at 8pm lol) and they were playing cooking videos which apparently they often do and I for one love a little mealtime entertainment. I got the Tom Kha and it was delicious! My mom got the green curry and it was also yummy, I would say to air on the side of caution with the spice levels, seems like they follow more traditional Thai spiciness levels so they can be pretty hot! We both like spice but my mom got level 2/5 and it was definitely a bit spicier than expected lol, still delish!
Delicious comfort food served here! A family favorite place to eat. Fun decor & great service. The Pineapple fried rice is a favorite, which also offers tofu as an option. The yellow curry & specials are great options as well.
The food was not bad however, the portion size were ridiculously small. The Tom Ka soup had literally nothing but chicken and mushrooms in it. The worst Tom Ka I’ve ever had.
Update 02/20/20
We came in for dinner, Ordered their Specialty Crab Fried Rice. It was not even good. Lacked flavor, small portion and the cook only put 2 small chunks of crab for $15?! This should not be put on their specialty list!
This place has one of the best Beef Pad Se Ew in town. My dad taught me how to make Pad Se Ew when I was like 10 and I must say they know how to cook here.
The Chicken Red Curry with bamboo, eggplant and bell peppers is flavorful.
The portions are medium size, not family style that’s for sure.
Definitely recommend for great Thai food in SE PDX.
-1 ⭐️ the service was ok, our server only took our order and at the end gave us our bill. They didn’t check on us for anything else.
Stopped here for dinner while in town for a convention. The biggest standout here is the speed of service. We ordered 5 plates and two appetizers and all came out within 5 minutes of ordering. This didn't seem to affect the quality of the food and everything, both curries and noodle dishes, tasted fresh and delicious.
The place was very clean and inviting and we were treated very well throughout our visit. The place is a little small, but it makes it feel pretty cozy. Even though we were close to closing time, we did not feel rushed and had a pleasant dining experience.
Overall I would definitely come back here again.

Great food and friendly staff. I've been a patron since 2009.

A family fav! You can't go wrong ordering from this menu. Favorites include: Crab fried rice, Drunken noodles, Yellow curry, Tom Ka soup, hot Thai tea. Absolutely exceptional service. This place is such a gem!
My favorite Thai food place, yum!
Excellent Pad Thai. Very friendly and proper service. Nice atmosphere.
Definitely recommended.
delicious, can accommodate vegetarians & vegans, and the staff is very sweet.
amazing food and service:)
Great people, very friendly and not too expensive. Food tastes great too!
This understated gem has great food. The Pad Kee Mao/drunken noodles is a favorite of mine!
There are many Thai restaurants I pass to get to here. Totally worth the drive.
Online order, very fast delivery. Unfortunately Tom Yum’s food has taken a dive. The Yakisoba was so sub-par it might as well have been from the worst cheap fly-by-night street vendor. It was flavorless, the noodles were sopping wet and clearly from a pre-cooked bag, and it was loaded with an overwhelming amount of sliced carrots, then measly bits of bean sprouts, broccoli, and cabbage. The Drunken Noodles were gummy in texture with almost non-existent vegetables. The tofu was crispy if not too oily. These dishes should be extraordinarily good, considering this is from a long-term brick-and-mortar and these are simple bread-and-butter dishes. It was surprising that it was so bad. I hope my review finds the proprietors and that they take this critique to heart, as I would very much like to enjoy their food again. Maybe someone from Tom Yum can explain their decline?
We were delighted with this delicious food and will be back. Parking can be an issue during busy hours, so we recommend car pooling. It is absolutely worth it. We've ordered takeout as well and the food is just as good when it arrives at home.
My meal at Tom Yum, while adequate, was certainly nothing to write home about. I ordered Mussaman Curry with chicken. I received Mussaman Curry with Tofu. Since I was in a hurry, and our server was English challenged, I ate it. It was OK, at best. My friend ordered Pad Thai with Tofu and four deep fried Spring Rolls. The Pad Thai came without bean sprouts or peanuts. The deep fried Spring Rolls were not very favorable. My friend said that the Pad Thai was a solid C-. Charitably, the decor in the restaurant was eclectic.
Omg this is my comfort Thai food take out spot so dope. !
Always fast and friendly. My favorite Thai takeout place!
Super quick! Food was good

The fried rice I got was terrific.
Tom Kha Soup is perfect
Super yummy. Friendly service. Clean and fast.
I love this place! The staff are welcoming, friendly, and kind..The food is delicious! Nita helped me with my order and accommodated my dietary restrictions. I appreciate the service and would highly recommend this place! I'll be back often!

The food is amazing, and its never a long wait. Perfect for that night when you don't want to cook. The specials change frequently and aren't overpriced.
This is your standard little neighborhood Thai joint. What isn't standard is the amazing flavor of the dish they have here called "Golden Fried Rice." It's a curried take on what you might expect from an American Chinese restaurant, and the blend of mild Thai curry and that classic comfort food has me coming back again and AGAIN. Reasonable prices, and fast, great service. Dine in or take out, you'll want to try it!
I've seen other spots do the curry fried rice, but this is my favorite version of that.
2 stars. Just blah - the whole experience. We live in Woodstock & tried to give this place a second chance. Darn. We will not return.
I found rodent bones in the bottom of my plate, they removed my picture.
This has been my favorite Thai restaurant for 10+ year. I love Tom Yum!!
Used to enjoy this place way back in college 10-15 years ago.. maybe that’s indicative or maybe I just had bad luck this time, but my pad see ew left much to be desired. It was very bland for Thai food. I know some ppl still like this place and say the portions or big. I’d suggest a different place if you want real punchy flavorful Thai food.
We were regulars here before moving out of Portland in 2021. We came back 2 years later and the food was just as satisfying as it was back then. Delicious!
Not bad for Chinese food... a reasonable food for the money... Must visit...
Love those rock and rolls, lol spring rolls. Cashew nut chicken really good. Prices have gone way up, too bad
Best curry in SE pdx but increasing prices are lame
My daughter and I went into Tom Yum Thai Cuisine for an early dinner today. The lady working refused to acknowledge us when we first walked in the door. It took over 5 minutes before she sat us even though there were plenty of tables. We waited 10 more minutes before she gave us a menu. We already knew what we wanted and let her know we were ready to order. She refused to help us and acted like we were putting her out never even offered us water.
We will never be back in this establishment.
they put the yum in tom yum thai
Five stars, exactly what you expect from a Thai food restaurant. Food is great, prices fine.
Tom Yum has been a go-to Thai restaurant for years. Everything I have had has been consistently delicious.
They don't close at 9 when the latest time to pickup is 830. The hours should reflect this.
Came in the first time and tried there Drunken Noodles, I must say that it is very flavorful and authentic (compared to other Thai food places). Recommend
I'm confused about the decision to serve dine-in food with plastic utensils and takeout containers.
The food was fine as it has always been.
I try to avoid single use plastic. I felt guilty with the extra plastic waste.
There was a sign on the door about it, but I didn't read it until we were done.
Sadly this place is no longer what it once was! This is the second time I've ordered trying to see if they've changed for the better, unfortunately they have not. My order came in-complete and when I try to address it with the location they just dismissed me and told me to contact GrubHub. I'm done! And what a shame, this used to be an excellent restaurant.
Good Thai food. You do have to ask them to spice it up if you want spicy.
Tom Yum has been my favorite for years, and they've exceeded their excellence by making gluten free sauces! 🙌 I thought my days of Pad See Ew were over, but I think their gf sauces are even yummier than the original! Thank you Tom Yum!
Delicious the whole way through
Food was very good
Nice people good service
By far the most reliably good Thai food joint I've found in Portland. Decent pricing, but the Pad Thai has never ever let me down!
Great Food and wonderful customer service!
The food was so good I had to forgive them for not having beer or wine.
My lord that was delicious. I had the pineapple fried rice and the chicken satay with peanut sauce. I don't live anywhere near this place. Thanks Doordash!
Pad se ewe: delicious and also the fresh tofu salad rolls with peanit sauce.
Sweetest people, and such great food! I couldn’t recommend these folks enough :)
Dine in is still closed! Not happy!
My order was delivered by door dash with one item missing. Door dash was unwilling to have the driver deliver the missing item. I called Tom Yum and the owner said he would deliver my missing order. Within 20 minutes it was here. I really appreciate that type of service, above and beyond, and as always the food is amazing. My go to Thai place! Thanks for making it right!
Absolutely Delicious food and coffe, unfortunately you still unable to eat inside.
Back after long time looking forward to great food
Delicious! I was very pleased with the speed and price, I picked up for takeout but the restaurant itself looked very inviting and cool.
Also the staff were masked, which is unfortunately unusual these days but made me feel much better about going in.
Whoever I want Thai food I always order from here! No matter what! The food is always fresh and delicious even if it's being delivered to me! The food always has delicious flavors and the pad Thai with tofu is the best! I will always order from here.
Best thai iced coffee, spring rolls, and pad thai I've had. Definitely recommend.
Delicious authentic Thai food with a wonderful staff, large servings and good prices. I’ve been coming here for 20 years and it’s definitely amazing. They’re quick making food as well.
Tom Yum got about $22 extra dollars out of me today by 1)charging for extra sauce and not providing it. 2)no white rice comes with curries?! Since when??? 3) I tipped $10 thru UberEATS before receiving my bag of food missing 5 items. Also, the curry that I was given only filled the container about 1/3 of the way.
Best Thai food in Portland! I’ve been coming here for years, always great
I've lived five minutes from Tom Yum my entire life (20 years!) and have in average eaten here about once a week, every week, since I was 3. Over these years Tom Yum has reared me in the way that only your favorite local restaurant can. The food they make here is the definition of comfort. I am not endulging in hyperbole or exaggerating when I say that the panaang curry and tom kha from Tom Yum have at points, single handedly kept me from completely snapping. It has seen me through every birthday I've ever had, anniversaries, terrible break ups, cramming for finals, the death of friends, every triumph and failure, all my multitudes.
An excellent establishment, love you guys.
Super tasty 😋 😍 get ya some.
Been a favorite for many years, eating in and ordering out I can’t recall any “errors” in my order
I’ve been eating here for many, many years and the food is consistently good and the staff is always nice. Highly recommend.
Their food has been consistently amazing, however that is quickly shadowed by consistent and repetitive errors in their take out. EVERY TIME we get take out they completely miss something, having supported this business for decades we should not have to check their accuracy with orders. Even after moving out of the neighborhood we continued as loyal customers, sadly I hate to say this will be the last time. PLEASE EVERYONE, check your orders and receipts, you will be on the losing end of their consistent mistakes.
This is our favorite Thai restaurant. We have eaten in and also taken out. Service is wonderful. Great variety. Food is excellent!
Consistently good food!!
Been here a couple of times now and my food is always been ready for pickup. Friendly staff as well and the food is delicious too, thanks...
YUM is all that need be said.
Ordered takeout, everything was so good. Perfect level of spice. My new favorite place for Tom Kha, so creamy and tart and not too sweet. Definitely will be ordering again.
There's no shortage of Thai joints in Portland. Some trend towards street style offerings while others, like Tom Yum, are more "traditional." This our go to place for Thai with generous and tasty portions. There's even parking, which is always a plus!
Nuestro preferido restaurante tailandés de todo el área.
Excellent food very friendly and efficient.
They make delicious beef drunken noodles, really flavorful. Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had.
Ordered pad Thai wanting to try this place with the good reviews. Maybe it was an off day but the food itself seemed a bit dry and bland. It seriously lacked flavor. I would be down to try again and see but I’m not rushing to do so.
Exactly what I was looking for. Little bit of spice, was just right
perfect tea spot
Ordered delivery at 6:40, still didn't have my food by 9pm. 3 separate Doordash drivers attempted to pickup the order and were stuck waiting 20+ minutes each.
This is my new go to, after some searching. The flavors are very standard Thai, but the main plus for me is they don’t over cook their noodles. Pad see ew is my favorite dish, but I rarely order it because the wide rice noodles are often falling apart and mushy. When I ordered it here, they were perfectly firm and held their shape instead of the broken, mushy bits I often see. The Thai iced coffee is a bit weaker than I’m accustomed to, but my husband and daughter prefer it that way.
The best...we've been eating there for close to 20 years.
Tom Yum has always been a consistently good experience for me, even during the pandemic.
Great
Very fast. Portions are huge. Friendly service. Good food.
First off, decent, average tasting Thai. A lot to improve on tho... If I order a noodle dish with only 2 ingredients (plus meat) I would expect to find those ingredients.. broccoli and eggs BTW. Literally only 5 pieces of broccoli, and couldn't find any egg in the dish. One thing most people think of and expect of thai is spice. The spice scale is not good. I asked for the hottest spice level, and it came out comparable to taco bell mild sauce. I've given them many chances, but think this might be the last one. Disappointing to say the least.
The eggplant dishes are perfect every time. This spot rules. Everything is good. Love Tom yum Woodstock.
Extremely rude staff.
Super great when you finally remember you need to eat and it's already 8pm.
Always busy, but it's awesome!
Super yummy food. Great customer service. Greatly appreciate COVID precautions.
The food is consistently very good here. My young daughter who doesn't like spicy food loves their Drunken Noodles. Take out only during COVID-19 spike.
Excellent food. We come here regularly. But we just decided that we don't participate in any take out that comes along with single use containers. I wish we could bring our own or reusables would be offered.
Many of these 'perfect' reviews must be fake. I don't post many reviews but I have to warn Thai fans about this place. The only good thing on our $60 order was the satay chicken. Even with that the peanut sauce was too sweet. The curries were way too salty, especially the green curry which was inedible. Tom Kha had good flavor but the chicken was bland and chewy (common problem). The meat in every dish except the satay was low quality, tough and fatty. The Take-Out staff member made no eye contact and gave brisk orders to me on checkout. That wouldn't bother me so much if the food was decent. I didn't think it was possible to have 'bad' Thai food. It has always at least been 'meh'. Maybe some people love the saltiness, or mistake it for flavor. I felt dehydrated after dinner. I'm searching for a new go-to Thai place after moving too far away from Thai Noon. I'm starting to think Thai restaurants need to post weekly schedules of their chefs/cooks. So inconsistent.
This has been a neighborhood favorite of mine for a long time. Responsive service, cozy dining room, and very good food. Probably not worth a trip across town, but definitely worth a stop if you're around the Woodstock neighborhood.
Been coming here for decades! Food is amazing and comes out fast, people are very friendly. Can't go wrong!
Food was to die for, sooooo good!!
Always good food and nice people. Try the yellow chicken curry.
My partner and I order takeout here every week for date night. The food here is really good, always consistent, and a really solid value. We typically split the curry. We haven’t found a yellow curry that we like better, and we try! Unassuming storefront, great ambiance inside.
I hope you’re hanging in there Tom Yum. Thank you for being a bright spot in our week! We’re rooting for you!
Not as goos as it used to be. No atention to detail.
Always great food!
We have been here several times. Their food is always great and consistent and they’ve always been always been very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend.
Found a reciept from 20 years ago while purging and realize this place is still our goto. Consitently good food, nice staff, and reasonable prices.
Red curry was yellow, pad Thai was dry and didn’t have barely any chicken or bean sprouts. Definitely not coming back.
Never had a meal that wasn't perfect from Tom Yums.
Favorite Thai. Very consistent
Dry, bland food. Very disappointing. We went here for takeout after being disappointed by our usual place, Siri Thai, several times. We will keep searching for reliably decent Thai food!
love the atmosphere and the food is solid! I'm a fan of this place.
third on my journey to try every thai place in portland!!
An old friend showed me this place and I always stop by here for lunch if I'm in the area. Waiting for food can take a little while sometimes, but there's plenty of interesting decor, people watching and thai iced tea to hold you over.
Drunken noodles!! Oh my lord, drunken noodles. Really wonderful. Can't wait to dine in here again.
Great food. Quick service. Reasonable prices.
Good food & good portions
Update 02/20/20
We came in for dinner, Ordered their Specialty Crab Fried Rice. It was not even good. Lacked flavor, small portion and the cook only put 2 small chunks of crab for $15?! This should not be put on their specialty list!

Delicious food, in a cute neighborhood.
I really enjoyed the drunken noodles.
Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu here.
Lovely atmosphere, great food and service
The best thia food ive been able to find in Portland. The tom kha is a must have every time, and the Drunken noodles with peanut sauce, beef, and shrimp is my go to. Everything I've tried is great, can't go wrong.
Great food anda neighborhood feeling
Food was good. They were busy, service was adequate
The cashew nut stir fry w/tofu we enjoyed was simply one of the best Thai dishes we have had in quite a while.
The food is always fresh, and we have not had a bad experience there, ever.
Delicious and very popular
Great food and even better service. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area and want Thai food.
Very polite workers delicious food
Great food and service.
Sweet place, amazing Tom Kha
