I discovered this wonderful restaurant about a year ago and find myself driving from Salem to Portland just to eat here. The food and atmosphere are 10/10. The staff is respectful and welcoming. The dish was plated so well that I wanted to frame it and stick it on the wall. Highly recommend!

Honest review. I tried this Thai restaurant for the first time not too long ago, and I LOVE IT. I loved the options, not too overwhelming the amount of options like other restaurants. I also loved the staff, super nice and friendly. THE biggest two reasons why I love this location and would highly recommend it are vibes and price. This place is still small and low-key vibes because most other people go to the trendier and well positioned locations but this location is just what I want, simple and great food and service. THE PRICE is unbelievable, super reasonable dare I say on the low end and it's even lower for lunch orders! I will for sure be returning to this location for all the reasons I have listed above and I would HIGHLY recommend this amazing little location. If you have not tried Thai food before, a good dish to start you off is the Punang Curry, stir frys, or the fried rice dishes with your choice of meat added to them. My friends have tried their chicken fried rice, curries, and noodles and they have all loved their dishes, so really I think you will get fantastic quality, portions and friendly service. Please do yourself a favor and try this place.
For reference on prices, my typical dishes at other restaurants cost about $17-$21, here it was $12.50 during the lunch menu.

One of my favorite Thai places in the area. They always have large portions and they don’t skimp on the meats. The food is always hot and fresh. Fried rice is my usual go to and you have plenty of choices for proteins and spice levels. Friendly staff.

Parking: if it’s during a super busy time parking can be tricky as it’s a small lot. However, normally there is no issue. Especially if you’re just getting take out you’ll be fine.

Excellent lunch! I had the orange chicken. The chicken was just slightly crispy on the outside, but moist and tender on the inside. It was also very nicely sauced. The vegetables it was served on were done, in my opinion, to perfection. They were neither too soft nor too crisp. The rice served as a side, was just the way I like it neither too sticky, nor too fluffy. Service was fast and friendly.

Ordered takeout via their website for Chicken Pad Thai and Fried Brussels Sprouts. Ordering/pickup process was smooth. Portions were generous and the Brussels sprouts were killer good... the peanut sauce served on the side is downright drinkable! The Pad Thai had good flavor but it was unfortunately missing green onion, which their description says it includes.

All said, definitely will be back for more of those delicious Brussels Sprouts and to try other dishes!

--edit 10/4/2021: I've since been back a few times and tried the Cashew Nut Delight, Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango, and the Basil Fried Rice. Everything has been soo delicious and just as described. Staff is very nice too. Definitely a new favorite Thai restaurant in the area!

In a city full of Thai restaurants, somehow this place really stands out for quality and freshness. It’s a very nondescript little place that you would not normally notice. I’ve been here five or six times over the last couple of weeks while visiting someone in OHSU hospital, and each time, I was blown away at how unusually good the dishes were. I had curries, noodles, soups, stir-fries, etc. and they were all done perfectly. I haven’t had any disappointments. Highly recommend.

Wonderful! This is the second time I’ve ordered from them and they did not disappoint. They are so friendly, the food is to die for, and they are close to where I live. Couldn’t get any better. I ordered the Tasty Chicken (add pork belly 🤤) and it did NOT disappoint. The Thai iced tea was spicy and sweet. 10/10 ❤️

I don't normally leave reviews. I had food here two times and the quality of the food was great but the last time (7/29) I developed bout Food borne illness, which means someone did not wash their hands and I ate someone's poop as a result. I had some severe diarrhea and vomiting, felt like I was gonna die. So this tells me Hygiene and sanitary practice is a bit iffy. But yeah last time I will be a patron.

Bad service I wait 40 mins for my food .... I ordered to eat there and they put it in Togo boxes.....

This restaurant has helped me get through my education at OHSU! I am grateful for all their delicious meals. My recommendations are the pineapple rice, panang curry, red curry, and brussel sprouts with peanut sauce. The service is always amazing, and the staff very kind and professional. I can't recommend this place enough!

Thai Vendor is small, unassuming, and shares a tiny parking lot with a plaid pantry but their food is very good. So far I've tried probably 7 different dishes and all of them were excellent. This place is perfect.

The food was good, but the service was pretty bad. Waited over an hour to get 2 drinks, hour and a half for food.

Waited over 30 mins for the food, only to be served something barely room temperature and bland tasting. Restaurant was empty except for one other table and some takeout orders. Waited another 30 mins to finally be checked on and they seemed confused why I didn’t want to take the meal home (even after seeing I only took one bite). Never offered to make me something else. We understand the FOH person is doing a lot, but come on… this restaurant is clearly understaffed and the quality is suffering. A bunch of dirty dishes piled onto a table in the center of restaurant was not appealing to look at while trying to eat. 1 hour later, I’m going next door to Plaid Pantry to buy my snack dinner. Very disappointing.

One of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever been to. Eaten at hundreds of Thai restaurants all over, many in Thai Town in Los Angeles. This place is fantastic. Love the pumpkin curry. I’ve eaten at a dozen or so in the Portland area, and this is the best one I’ve found so far.

Great food but service was slow. It is still a return place because the slow service could have been an anomaly. The food was flavored just right and at the right temperature. Quick access up on the hill near OHSU.

You’ll love here if you like asian food, mostly Thai here but with some mixed of Chinese and Korean fusion style food, so not exactly typical asian restaurant which makes it worth a try.

This the Best and the most delicious Beef Fried Rice in Portland, OR. Their chicken is also very, very delicious as WELL!!! Eat Here!

Always came here for lunch a couple years ago. Lovely owners and amazing food. They used to serve you a small bowl of chicken congee with every dine-in meal, but I'm not sure if they still do that.

They have maybe the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot of Pad Thai! Also the portions were huge (my partner and I split it and still had enough to take home) and it was also inexpensive. The inside of the restaurant is very cute. Also very peaceful! They were playing like bird noises and soothing music and had a TV that had cool videos of the jungle. Overall really great experience

Food was good! Needed to find something that wasn't "institutional". We were all happy, 2 vegetarian and 1 omnivore.

I would give it a 0 star if i could. My orange chicken was like a soup with so much liquid at the bottom it was mushy. I ate it like 10 mins after it was done. I picked 5* spicy lvl and there was zero spice. And service was very slow.

I’ve ordered Pad Thai at a lot of Thai restaurants, as a kind of staple measure of quality. This is one of the best! Just the right blend of savory and sweet, fresh crispy toppings, a must try.

Oh man, there are so many dishes I love, I couldn't pick a favorite if you asked me. I recently tried the Yakisoba and felt satisfied as it incorporates the perfect balance of freshness, umami and savoriness. The food here is well worth the price and the staff are one of the best I know. Don't let the small appearance fool you! It's truly a hidden gem hidden in plain site.

This normally my go to place but severely disappointed with my order tonight. From order to ready it was 1 hr and 15 min. I sat waiting 45 min for it in the restaurant. Everything was cold. My sauce from one dish was leaked onto the bottom of the bag as well. I don't understand how it can take that long and be cold.

I recently tried Thai Vendor because I moved and can walk to it. I was pleasantly surprised how amazing it is. The pumpkin curry and drunken noodles were some of the best I've had. There is a lot of care put into each dish. The staff are welcoming and helpful. I will be back as much as I can!!!!

Amazing fresh thai food. Every dish had different flavors unlike some places where all the plates taste the same. The food came out piping hot and it was reasonable. This is my go to for Thai food now.

Extremely hidden gem but this place is awesome. We have tried at least 8 different dishes and they all hit hard. Super generous portions and the lady at the front is very sweet. Definitely try Thai vendor!

Impressive menu and everything I've had so far has been fresh, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. I typically get a level 4 spice, perfect for flavor and heat. The Tom kha is loaded with veggies, mushrooms, protein and broth...a great balance with no skimping! The papaya salad is bright and delicious, and the cashew chicken is perfect. Definitely a repeat restaurant on the list.

Best Thai food I’ve ever had! Portland peeps this is a place you must order pick up from, hands down the freshest most amazing food. My Coworkers and I have tried multiple dishes, each one brings wow factor. Flavors are pure and produce and ingredients are perfectly fresh and balanced. I cannot believe I’ve worked near them over a year and just found this gem 🤩

Great food and reasonable priced. Not a fancy restaurant but I personally care more about the taste and the service, which are both great.
The basil Thai dish with pork seemed a little salty to me, but the rest of my party liked it, so maybe it is just me. Everything else was great, including the tea.

This corner has a food cart (Thai Yummy) and this restaurant, Thai Vendor. Both are excellent, and not related.

I came here for the first time because one of my coworkers recommended this new restaurant for me, so I came to tried their tasty chicken, pad kee mao, and Thai Ice Tea, I was so surprised because they were super super good! Will definitely definitely come back!
