Large Thai restaurant known for its spicy pumpkin curry set in a former diner, now painted orange.
I stopped here when usual spot was closed. The inside is so beautful! wood floors and booths, decorated with warm hues for lighting as well as fake plants. The first time i tried this place i got the fried rice and added beef with the mango sticky rice desert and both were very good!! I order mine for pickup and it was still so warm and delicious. (Around $25) If you’re concerned about how it tastes on the reheat - don’t be! It taste just as glorious as when you first chomped your teeth into it. I’m very surprised that it hasn’t been super booked the two times I’ve been in here, it’s on Mississippi which is a great location for walking and window shopping so if you happen to stop by i highly recommended. 10/10
We stopped here after an Improv showcase for one of our young adults. It was between this place or a bar type restaurant. We had a minor with us and didn't want to risk the other place.
I ordered Pra Ram, my standard at Thai restaurants. My husband ordered Lemongrass Pad Thai--he thought he had ordered with chicken, but he got beef. It was the best tasting (thai) beef I had ever tried! Husband also thought it was really great pad thai, and LOVED that it had peanut sauce.
Our son is pickier than me, but loves pot stickers and likes the chicken satay. He really liked his food!
If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and give this a try!
I'm super disappointed 😞 it's usually my go-to when it comes to thai food, and lately, the quality has been inconsistent. On my last order, I got a mountain of mixed fresh and old rice noodles with a weird taste. Not peanuts, no scallions, no nothing. I live all the way in Lake Oswego, so going back wasn't an option, unfortunately. It is not the first time this has happened, so Sadly, this place is a no-go anymore.
The staff was super friendly and helpful. We started with Thai ice tea, yum! Then ordered the Tom Kha Soup, which was seasoned perfectly; enough for 4 adults. Our entrees we’re Pad Thai with chicken, pineapple fried rice with tofu, Druken Noodle with extra veggies and lastly pumpkin curry with tofu. All dishes were delicious. We’ll definitely be back!
Papaya salad was not great at all, no spice and put on a bed of cabbage or lettuce to make it look bigger? Not worth $13. Khao Soi was just very overly sweet absolutely no spice either and lacking chicken. $15.50 for that. They didn’t fill up the curries all the way either. Two stars because the red curry was fine and the host was nice. Spend $43 and was so disappointed.
My favorite place to get pad thai and mango sticky rice in Portland!
This place has been solid for 20 years.

Really good curries but they have not been filling up the containers all the way lately :(
Clean restaurant, friendly staff, and DELICIOUS pad Thai with a very good portion size. I was honestly impressed, highly recommend trying.
Portions are large, food is delicious and the crew is always super friendly. even when they are busy it's never more than 2 minutes to pick up my food!
I have eaten at MANY Thai spots and this spot is hand down the top on my list. The Tom Kah soup is the best soup I have EVER eaten. Thanks to the chefs and staff.
Always delicious!
My sister brought me
Here one day last week after a session 💨
and I’ve been eating here everyday since
I don’t know what’s in that Yakisoba but I am
Severely addicted , it is soooo good
The 🥭Mango sticky rice is to die for good!!!
Kinda spendy tho chicken & shrimp $1 per shrimp) smh
Always great food, esp yellow curry, pad see ew, pad gra pow
Excellent food! Some of the best Thai I've ever had. Most people get take out so plenty of seating.
Ordered to go, medium spice chicken Tom kha, extra veggies. Tom kha was great but not spicy. Also there was almost no chicken surprisingly. I got three pieces I think in that big tub. Still, was better than some places I have tried around here. Veggies were as expected (: would like to sit down sometime.
Tried red curry with tofu and loved it. Came with rice on the side. The quantity was enough for 2. Had many options with tofu for vegan.
Clean restrooms.

Food is fantastic, service is top of the line, what can I say? Best Thai food all around, can't get better than this, best Pad Thai, hands down! It's something to really look forward to, it's amazing Pad Thai, just love it!
I used to love this place, especially for their yellow curry. But the last 2 times I've had pieces of hair in that curry.. so disappointing as this was my go to spot for Thai. Monsoon: please fix this issue or I truly won't be the only one making this comment.
Delicious!
Monsoon Thai had great food and great presentation. The food came quickly and it was a great relaxing atmosphere.
I've been searching for a good thai place that reminded me of my hometown. There are a lot of good places for Thai, but Monsoon is by far my favorite and closest to that taste!
Got a little bit of everything with some friends, and there wasn't anything that i tried that I wouldn't recommend!
just tried this today it was super yummy and really good prices compared to a lot of other thai places i’ve been to !

Good, dependable Thai food
Monsoon Thai has been my go to spot for years, but the past several visits have been a let down. The soups and noodle dishes just don't hit like they used to. I'm not sure if the cooks or recipes changed, but my beloved spot is no more. I'd stop in if I needed something quick and was close, but I just don't think I'll seek them out as often as I used to.
Great place to get some great food. Nothing fancy, and relatively cheap. Will be dining here again. Personally do not recommend the shrimp - the tail shell is still on in the bowls. I'm sure that's how it's supposed to be prepared but I'm not a fan.
This has come to be a favorite local spot for delicious and fresh Thai food! I love the salad rolls with peanut sauce and the pumpkin curry is my go to, always delicious. The crab rangoons are always great too!
What a hidden gem. Order at the counter and sit in the comfortable dining area. Super friendly staff, he brought us our food and checked on us to make sure we were happy. The spring rolls were perhaps the best I’ve ever had, so light and crispy. I got the pad see ew, my go to, and it was better than most. Unlike a lot of places the noodles didn’t get gummy or congeal, they kept their integrity. The sauce wasn’t my favorite, but everything else was incredible. My fiancée got the chicken satay which made him light up, that’s how good it was. And the best part is the price, we paid $31 including tip for two meals and an appetizer. If I lived in Portland this would be my new go to Thai place. Also, street parking was very easy. 100% recommend.
Always delicious food.
I’ve eaten here for more than 10 years. For some reason I almost always get pumpkin curry, because it is delicious. Well, tonight I had their drunken noodle (pad kee mau) for the first time and it was hands down the best thai noodle dish I’ve ever had. Flavorful, authentic, spicy, and aromatic. You simply cannot go wrong here!
Why is your Thai ginger out of stock? I recently discovered it…
Wonderful vegetable yakasoba noodles! I'll keep coming back for more.
This is a wonderful place to eat! Loveland is very fortunate to have this quality of food! We were there twice in one week!
Gave this place a second shot, but find the food just isn't gonna warrant a third visit. We wanted it to be different, but found the sauces in all dishes we tried to be way too sweet. It seems when you ask for dishes to be "mild", they over-compensate with sweet. Should be able to enjoy flavors and spices without sweet or heat mask. And, shouldn't a sit-down restaurant mean you sit...not order at counter? Isn't that the service to expect with 20%+ tip ?
Tldr - adequate food for those of us who received our order.
Don't try to eat there in person. Our group of 7, and 2-4 other customers it took over an hour to get out 6 of our 7 orders, realize they forgot one and then bring out something random. The seventh person got their food first, the 6th arrived after the first had leisurely finished.
Not many places left where you can sit and a good Thai meal served by a friendly face 😋. Place is super clean and the food is great 👌
Wait time is long. Online ordering is eta is not reliable.
Terrible. Pra ram: vegetables undercooked, lots of crunchy chewing of cabbage and carrots.
Panang curry: green papers were so over cooked they barely looked green and definitely had no structure to them. Moosh.
The Chef Boyardee of Thai food. Far overpriced for the quality.
great tasting thai food. the drunken noodles were perfect as was the yellow curry
That pumpkin curry was... Really freaking good. Great portion size, but man that flavor. Big chunks of Thai pumpkin and loads of pork.
They seemed a bit understaffed and finding the entrance was kind of confusing.
Regardless, the food was so good I almost didn't even notice.
We ordered our dinner and stopped by to pick it up.
Great food, the place was a bit empty for Fri night
Bad service since COVID-19 had the nerve of serving lukewarm Sizzling beef in plastic bowl,I'm like what is this? Hmmmm, No!!! Management must have changed. Bad three times I have gone there. No more eating out. All the food is not good.
I had to pay upfront, weird. I assume they assume no tip which is fine. Our food plates main entree and appetizers (2 of us) were paper plates, our water bottle plastic, drinking cups small plastic cups and plastic forks.. very dollar tree vibes. This was dine-in not take out FYI.
Favorite place to eat in Portland
Food is so Delicious, best Thai I've had in a long time. I got veggie yellow curry with pumpkin and it was Amazing! Red curry and Thai Tea/Coffee, also wonderful 😊 The Tom Ka soup is superb. I wouldn't recommend the crab puffs, but everything else I've had from here is top notch.l and then highly recommend. They are finally open for dine in service!
We have been coming to this location very long time. We ordered out few times. Chicken Pad Thai was ok. It didn't have any crushed peanuts or taste any peanut sauce. It tasted more tangy. TOM KHA soup was good but need little bit more coconut cream. Its was runny not creamy. ( didn't receive any rice on the side) HOUSE SPECIAL CHICKEN fried rice was great 👍 Full flavor. Portion size was good 👍
We have probably ordered from this restaurant 30+ times over the years. Always great, never had an issue. But the past several times we ordered we had problems every time with how the food was prepared. Inedible due to extreme heat once, another time gross looking meat rolled into the vegetarian spring rolls; these days its just a dice roll ordering from there. Something will surely be wrong. I guess it's time to move on to another Thai spot. There is certainly no shortage of them here.
P good. Ordered mild and it was super spicy. They said they would remake it, but only waited until I drove all the way back to start remaking it. It was already a pain, but they had to make me wait even longer. I guess they got 50% of the order right.
I get takeout here all the time. quick service and good food
Best Thai food in Portland
I love monsoon Thai. Everything I’ve had here is good. All the curries , Pad Kee Mao, Fried rice, spring rolls, mango sticky rice, Tom kha, Thai tea, khao soi. All yummy! They are reasonably priced and big portions. The curries and soups are 20oz for ~$12. And the curries come with rice. I usually go for Penang curry, and I find their curries to be well balanced with veggies and good consistency. Monsoon is my go-to for Thai!
This is comfort food!!! I love their curries but have never had a bad dish here 🤗
Nice environment and good food.
#positivegoodlife
My favorite Thai food in pdx
My go to Thai place in NE. Always delicious
I can taste the animal fat in the greasy vegetarian entrees.
My go-to Thai food escape in No Po. They've got a cozy interior with good service, and quick with take out. Great location for a fun night out too.
This restaurant can do no wrong. I don't even know where to begin with how much I love this place. Hands down my favorite Thai restaurant I have ever been to. Not only is their food delicious, but they will make most of their dishes vegan with no fuss; something that is very appreciated in my book.
The drunken noodles are my #1 favorite. But the curries are great, the salad rolls are great, the pad thai is great, the stir fries are great, the fried rice is great, it's ALL great.
Wish you didn't use plastic to go containers.
Monsoon is hands down my favorite Thai restaurant! They are fast, friendly, and consistent. The food is fresh and delicious; always great quality and portions on the larger side. Two thumbs up!!
🌶🔥🔥🔥
Been going here for 14 years, always the best Thai food I've ever had!
The best Thai iced tea ever. The food is great too but that Thai iced tea!
We ordered takeout last night and it was delicious. Everything tasted super fresh and flavorful. The crab puffs were the best I've ever had, light and crispy. I never write reviews but I just had to say - I was so pleased, and will definitely be ordering again!
Great take out during the heat dome!
They have the noodles!
Great food, efficient and great attention to detail
Very good food. We enjoyed their excellent, thoughtful service as well!
Very tasty food no dine in at the time of my visit.
Best pad kee Mao around!
Food was good thai iced tea nice and strong. I love the little food dishes on display. Efficient business will come back. Old school nice treat
Good flavors and decent pricing
If you were to ask me of Monsoon Thai, I would say that I treasure it.
ดีมากและพวกเขามีตะเกียบที่ดี
Orders are always late. They have poor customer service. Food is average.
The food is amazing and the delivery is so fast it's scary...
Flaming beef!
Delicious and a great price for what you get. Would definitely eat here again
This place is absolutely delicious! They also have terrific service. Out of the 50+ times I've been to this place, they slightly messed up my order once and fixed it before I even made it to the restaurant to pick up my order. AND they gave me the original order they messed up for free. Huge fan of Monsoon Thai!
Delicious food. Friendly staff. What more could you want during these strange times.
I love thai iced tea and theirs is the best I’ve had so far. Food is consistently delicious.
Bad taste 1st time
I ordered pickup online. Arrived 30 minutes later and was told to wait 15 more minutes. Very unhappy with this. I hope the food is good. Will advise
My new favorite Thai place, this joint knows what they're doing. Pad kee mao with Shrimp will blow your head off, permanently ruined me on any other Pad kee mao from any other place.
I think its Probably the best Thai restaurant in Portland......big chunks of chicken in the basil fried rice 😋
Such delicious food, they are taking great precautions for social distancing and COVID cleanliness. Take out is always made so easy with them, one of my favorite spots!
I love this place. I am always on the constant lookout for authentic Thai food and this is the place. Tom Kah, Pra Ram, Panang Currie and of course Pad Thai with chicken and mixed vegetables ordered via take out (driving in from Vancouver) and ready when we arrived. Awesome!!!!
Food was hot (temperature and spice) and was a perfect meal for 3 adults. Again, I love this place!! Thank you!!
I can't say enough great things about this place! It was the first place I tried when I moved to Portland and no other place has better pad thai chicken or thai iced tea! 10/10 recommend visiting! Great prices too!!
Great portions, great flavor, but the server wasn't very nice.
Open on Christmas day! Great vegan and gluten-free options at affordable prices and fast, friendly service.
Great people watching, decent food. Thai service style, make sure you ask for all of what you need when you see somebody come by.
Great Thai food in a simple atmosphere. Thai food is generally good almost anywhere but this was a step up in quality. I had the pineapple fried rice with shrimp. My daughter had the peanut curry with vegetables. Both were fantastic. The place feels a little run down inside but it seems to add to its charm.
Everything we ordered was great! And they were quick with the dishes!
Awesome! Phenomenal on the duck curry, chicken satay and the pad Thai... everything else we had was very good!
Love their Tom Kha, Rock and Rolls, and their Golden Fried Rice!
Good food! Nice atmosphere and good service
Very delicious. will go back
Excellent Pad Thai and can be made to whatever your spicy tolerance might be! With good selection of proteins available as well. Lots of other authentic dishes to choose from! Hard to pick one!
Oh my gosh!!!this was delicious my soup was thick n spicy, yum totally recomend. Customers service was on point. Clean place and pleasant environment
Fabulous food, quick prep, fair pricing
This is a good place for lunch to grab some Thai food. Friendly staff and adequate prices. Below-average ambience.
This is my "go to" Thai restaurant. I'm always happy with the food and the staff have always been friendly and courteous.
Delicious Thai food 😋 would definitely recommend!
Amazing staff and the best thai iced tea in town
Awesome food and service. Spend your $$$ here, you won't be disappointed:)
Absolutely excellent, as good as the day I came here fifteen years ago. Better! Classic and delicious north Portland standby.
Pad Thai was made with a rotten egg.
Great food, great service!
Best Thai city wide!
Always good. Consider it a no fail
Best Thai Food Ever
Excellent food and service.
Excellent Thai curry!
I hate giving middling reviews, but you should know that there is better Thai food close by. The price was good, but the food is solidly mediocre. Nothing was actively bad, but the Drunken Noodle and Chicken Salad we got were both bland and lackluster. I hope they have better food on the weekend, because I know they’re locally owned and work hard, but yikes.
Best pad kee mao I've ever had.
