I ordered take-out. They did not serve rice. I have never gone to an Asian restaurant when they don't give even a scoop of rice with the meal.

This is the best Thai restaurant I've ever eaten at... I eat more Thai food probably than any other kind of food. I've tried different restaurants all across the country and this is definitely my favorite. The owner is amazing and always makes sure you're taken care of!!

Omg this place was AMAZING! My family and I have specific places where we go for each type of cuisine. We all new we wanted Thai but we wanted to change it up a bit and try something knew. We found this place and from the moment we walked into the restaurant , we were greeted by the friendly staff who sat us down and even chatted with us. It was honestly very entertaining. One staff member even taught me how to use chopsticks. It took only around 10 min for the food to arrive and it was so delicious. I loved everything and honestly one of the best curries I've ever tasted. It made me so sad to see the place empty with only 1 other family seated other then us. I 100% recommend this place. Loved it!

I lived in Thailand for three years and I still go there once every 1-2 years. Thailander is my favourite Thai restaurant in PDX/PDX suburbs. It's a small place, but the food is always great. The portions are big, I always have food to take home (which I love). I have never been anything but totally satisfied with the food and experience. I hope more people try this place.

My absolute favorite Thai food in the area!! Woman owned business and the food is delicious. You will get a beautiful presentation with every dish served and you will be delighted by the perfect flavors and textures. The atmosphere is fun festive and casual and makes you feel like you're somewhere where the sun is shining. The owner is so sweet, kind and attentive! This area lacks many good places to eat so don't waste your time, eat at thailander it's my fave!

The Pad Thailander is a great take on Pad Thai. The standards like Yellow, red curries are exceptionally good. I frequent this place often!

Thailander lunch menu lists the cost for Chicken Pad Thai as $11.50. We ordered 2 and were charged $28 at the register. When I asked why she said she changed the prices 4 months ago when she "took over." Apparently, she just charges whatever she feels like at the register.
Also, it's interesting to read their response to bad reviews. They often defend themself, blaming their mistakes on their customers. They don't seem to be able to accept responsibility for anything.
I'm guessing their time is going to be very short lived.

Ordered pad see ew with tofu and red curry with chicken both extra hot and let me tell you it was soo gooood! Curry was super flavorful and the pad see ew was super cooled to perfection. Owners are super sweet and nice. I will be coming back here for sure 👍🏼

The food and customer service is very very fantastic

First off, I have never left a bad review but in order to share my experience which I wish I would’ve known so that I wouldn’t have wasted my money. We ordered take out, first they gave us the wrong order under the wrong name which was $50+ dollars more than we ordered, after us correcting them tube had to wait another 20 minutes for them to give us our order, although it had been already 1.5+ hours after we initially ordered our to go order so you’d think it would be enough time.
After we came home turns out instead of giving us the shrimp and rice which we paid for, they just gave us the shrimp. After being let down, my friend tries the Tom yum and she was unable to eat it, I tried it as well and it was so incredibly salty like they threw a whole cup of salt in there. Honestly one of the worst experiences we had, we won’t come back. We truly hope they improve and we wish their business the best.

We had potstickers to start and the sauce was incredible. The spring rolls are also divine. You have to try the mango sticky rice too! This place is outstanding!

The food is so good, reasonably priced and the service was wonderful. My only complaint is their chairs are extremely uncomfortable if you're dining in. Will definitely be ordering from here on a regular basis.

This coy little Thai restaurant is under new ownership. It’s now owned by a nice Thai lady, Koy. Let’s admit it… the previous ownership left it on the wings—a miss. But now, no! It’s a solid hit and it’s getting better all the time. Koy is improving by the minute and in the next few months we can expect spectacular!! Go Koy! See you again soon, girl. Highly recommended!

Friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere. Great for tea and a nosh, or complete entrees. I ordered a bubble tea made up of papaya, milk,bubbles on the bottom, and delicious whipped cream on top. Refreshing! The extensive menu really covers all tastes. Mobile orders available. I took home a dessert of coconut milk sticky rice, with mango. Perfect for a warm summer dessert.

Thai with a twist?

Most of their dishes have the foundation of traditional Thai food but then they add the “Thailander twist”, which honestly I really enjoy!

Some of the negative reviews say that they aren’t spicy enough. Honestly most restaurants aren’t ever spicy enough, and I think that’s because true Thai spicy is too dang spicy for a lot of people. I’ve come to learn if you want it really spicy then just say so ahead of time.

The next negative I read was that the portions were too small for the price. Uhm the price for me was very fair and the portions were perfect for me.

They definitely have something great going on there, go check it out for sure!!

A very welcoming place: eclectic decor, rock 'n' roll music, rolling garage door. The owner was so nice! And the food is all excellent. Quality ingredients, subtle flavors, and punchy heat.

Authentic and tasty food

This place is gem. Used to be our go to place for Thai food when we were in PDX. Classic Tom Yum Soup is soo refreshing. Spice levels on higher side. Good portion size.

I got the number 24, crispy mango duck basil. It was delicious, a lot of duck, most places just give you skin and gristle, but not this place. Nice portion size. I ate it for two meals.

What a disaster. I was trying to catch up with a friend I hadn't seen in a few years, and I decided to try this place - it was here five years ago when I last came through, and it's still there. However, things have gone downhill.

We arrived at 3:05. At 3:15, we placed our order for a tea-for-two teapot and two red curries. At 3:40, my curry was delivered. At 4:10, my friend's curry was not delivered. In fact, as I had discovered, it wasn't even started.

A reasonably competent server would have seen that the food was brought out staggered and gone to see what happened to the other order. My server was, however, not competent. It was 4pm until 'they' asked where the other red curry was. By this point, mine was cold and nearly gone, and my friend was upset that she wasn't able to eat yet.

Meanwhile, three tables that had come in *after we had arrived* had already been served.

What's worst? Not only did they forget her food twice. Not only that I had to choose to either eat in front of her or not eat at all. Not that even *after* starting it, the kitchen line operated with the sense of urgency of the DMV. But that there was absolutely ZERO accountability with the staff. Their mistake wasn't acknowledged beyond a "we're sorry".

I was admittedly kind of a jerk, but I don't believe unjustifiably so. Their incompetence spoiled an otherwise wonderful afternoon, and their apathy only exacerbated the situation. I suppose I'm not welcome there ever again... which is fine. They're never welcome in my wallet again.

I can't wait until incompetent idiots like these are automated out of existence by the impending food-automation revolution, which can't come quickly enough.

Oh. And the curry was average at best.

Ordered yellow chicken curry and Thai ice tea The Thai iced tea was amazing but honestly who can mess that up. The yellow chicken curry was AWEFUL. I ordered hot and it was FLAVORLESS. Definitely would not recommend. Go to Burgerville instead.

Restaurant prices, fast food portions. Also asked for very spicy and got back less than sriacha amounts of spice. Again, portions were tiny for 16$ (spicy basil rice+Thai ice tea)

Too much spicy

I order 5 dishes and I was really disappointed about the quality of foods.
Phad Thai was ok but Phad Kee Maow was TERRIBLE! This is a wide noodle dish but the cook 'stirred fried' the wide noodle so much I couldn't find any noodles. They became like dough and the texture was horrible.
Red Curry was supposed to be spicy but it was so sweet I thought I was eating desert.

I've been ordering foods from Thailander for a few years now and the foods are usually good.
My biggest disappointment was the fact that this low quality foods were allowed to leave their restaurant.
I rather wait a few more minutes and get the best tasting foods than get low quality foods just to meet the timeliness.
I would not have written this review if they have checked the Phad Kee Maow quality.
It would take a while for me to go back to Thailander for a large order. It's too risky to spend close to $70 and get such a disappointing results.

Visited recently for the first time, excellent Thai cashew chicken not too spicy.

All our take out dishes were missing ingredients. The Tom kha noodle soup had NO NOODLES! four pad Thai s were all missing Cilantro, Lime, and Bean Sprouts. My pad thai with extra egg was super small. All five of us are unhappy. Super disappointing!!!!

These crab things were from the freezer and freezer burned. They were thrown in the grease and the outsides were really hard and the filling was ice cold. The rest of my meal was ok. They never asked how anything was so maybe they don’t care! I won’t be back!’

I ordered pad se ew from here once and it was just so incredibly garlicky. Also, the tofu was rubbery. I was barely able to eat it because of the overwhelming garlic. I chalked it up as a fluke and decided to give them another shot tonight. But nope- same thing!! Rubbery tofu and way, way, way too much garlic. I love garlic as much as the next person but it was overpowering and made the dish inedible. Which is a shame, because the noodles were cooked well and the sauce was yummy. Please just cut down on the garlic and I’ll happily come back!

I've had Thailander couple times during the pandemic. Their dishes are unexpectedly generous. I can't say that I've tried all their menus, but the foods were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend their mango sticky rice!

We had potstickers, they were over fried and dry like a rock, coconut shrimp were prepared the same way. Whoever cooked it new, the food is burned and still they sold it to us. I was amazed how blend, and really badly prepared Drunken noodles.it did not have any taste of Thai food. It is a first time I'm giving a restaurant one star. I would never come back. I do not recommend dining in this place.

My tofu in the pad see ewe tasted like mold-and the wontons in the soup tasted like cigarettes. I don’t know if this is some random occurrence, but as soon as I started eating the tofu it very clearly tasted like mold and the wontons tasted like I was eating a cigarette.

Highly disappointed by my order today. This is the 2nd time I am ordering here for take out. First time it was just fine(assumed it was not a great day or bad luck) &w usually go back again to know the right taste but this time it was worst than the first time. Devil eggs rolls were just fine. Phad Thai was mushy & sticky, only 4 very thin peices of chicken & pad keemao yakisoba was just useless & went straight to the bin.. Sorry but no going back again.

Stopped coming here about a year ago. Portions are obnoxiously small. The food tastes good, and I like their varieties of Thai iced teas. Review based on nugget kee mao. The menu claimed(description from the menu - Thai wide rice noodles stir-fried with nugget chicken, broccoli, carrot, bamboo shoots, tomatoes, egg, onions, bell peppers, and homemade spicy sauce.) that this was pad kee mao, except with chicken nuggets.. I was looking forward to a sumptuous dish given all the glowing reviews on here, but was sorely disappointed. The chicken itself was crunchy, but the noodles and the sauce it came it was not the sweet, spicy and savory sauce that you expect from pad kee mao.. it was more like a very strong teriyaki sauce with too much dark soy sauce. I couldn't finish the dish. A few bites, and you had to clear the palate by drinking water since the soy sauce was so overbearing..I looove flat wide rice noodles that comes with this dish, but this was the first time that I left it unfinished...I was craving some good Thai food, but came out with after an unsatisfied, unfinished meal..

They used to have black plastic containers, switched to white cardboard and only fill part way. See pic ... just opened and was pretty shocked ... where is the rest of the food?

The food was amazing and full of flavor. They have unique menu items that I haven't seen at other Thai places. I cant wait to go back and try more options. They have the best pad thai i've ever had.i had the one that had basic chicken on top so it was a modified version. The ambiance was eclectic and fun- perfect. It's the perfect blend of American throwback and Thai decor. The service was efficient and server was kind.

AVOID. The Pot Stickers were bland, crunchy outside, no taste. The Pad Thai smelled horrible, equivalent to a smelly wet dog or rotten cat food. The smell of the Pad Thai overpowered the poor taste and made chewing the food even hard. Asked for the check and left without eating 3 bites.

I adore this Thai place. They make their peanut sauce with coconut milk, so I am able to eat it. Most places use half and half or milk. The customer service is great. I enjoy the tofu. The video they have of their restaurant playing in front is cute. The unique foods keep me coming back. The soups are amazing. Fresh vegetables, no brown edges. My friend loves his pad thai. It is moist, not dry. The chicken is tender. Delicious appetizers. I constantly crave the Swimming Rama. The food came out really fast. It was slow, but still shockingly quick to be served. I love the wood carving, and the deco is so awesome. Some has a great sense of humor! Pat is really nice and polite, she makes the experience even better. The decoration is something phenomenal, if you dont believe me just stop by :) this restaurant offers a genuine customer service topped off with authentic delicious Thailand food. Thailander is our favorite Thai restaurant in the Beaverton/Hillsboro area. The owners/employees are very curteous and atmosphere is very cozy. Even though we don't eat out a ton, they always seem to remember us when we come in. We really like eating in the restaurant during days with nice weather because they will sometimes open up the front of the restaurant to let in fresh air. We also regularly get takeout and they always seem to prepare the takeaway containers very carefully (everyone hates leaking curries and soups!). Our favorite dishes are the duck wings and papaya (skinny) pad thai.
