Best Thai in Eugene
First time diners ... shared a tom kha soup and then lava catfish (freshbtasting single fillet cut into 8 small squares lightly coated in a translucent cornstarch spiced breading and fried ... not greasy, crisp, did not overpower the fish) and red curry with duck (good dark meat, unfortunately soft not crispy skin), Everything was good, much better than the majority of Thai restaurants we've eaten in ( Portland metro area) however it was not a memorable experience ... the cuisine did not delight. Service was very good. Atmosphere is clean contemporary and comfortable... but a bit too bright. Portions were small for $20 a plate ... the odd thing is that the portion of catfish and duck protein was acceptable but there was a lack of veggies, sauce, and fullness of the entre. Soup was a bit flat tasting ... again good but not great. Solid B. But not a repeater.
Solid Thai place. We got the shrimp pad Thai and the Tom yum soup. Both were quite tasty, and the serving sizes were generous. For dessert, we had the mango sticky rice, which was also quite good. The rice is the perfect texture
The interior is spacious, and seats a lot of people, which is good because this place is pretty popular
I’ve been a guest at TaRaRin since they opened. Now I take my kids. It’s our go to for dining out. We splurge on appetizers, mains, and dessert. The core staff have always treated me and mine as valued guests. The newer staff really shine too. Whenever I travel or in some cases relocate for too long I miss this place out of all the restaurants in Eugene the most. High praise for an experience that feels like home.
My salmon curry was so so good.... everything was just phenomenal. My cousin and I had such an awesome lunch. She usually doesn't like curry but after tasting mine she will be ordering in the future. Nice outing for last day in the area.
We LOVE Thai food. I also LOVE to cook it, so I'm pretty critical.
This place is DELICIOUS. The other great part, it was affordable, and the serving sizes were also great.
Ordered the fresh spring rolls, which were tasty. The Yellow Curry and the Pad See Ew were absolutely amazing. Noodles were cooked to PERFECTION. That doesn't happen at every Thai place, trust me.
We'll absolutely be back!
Pretty prompt service considering pandemic and lack of service staff at most establishments. Stopped by to support some more local businesses and to address my affinity to Thai food. Everything was flavorful and I was happy with each dish. Pleasantly surprised with the choices on their specials this evening.
Very solid Thai food. Just solid, consistent and tasty food from a friendly staff.
Note: I'm talking about the Oak Street location. Avoid the Coburg location. Just don't go to Coburg. They seem to need to retrain their cooks there. I've gotten multiple sad, undercooked, unseasoned/unsauced dishes with little to none of the protein ordered. The Coburg location is just not worth the money.
Green curry was delicious. Tempura appetizer was tasty and large
“I ordered the ‘Thai level spicy’ because the pain gives me something to focus on instead of the life choices I have made”
I both love to dine in, and take out from Ta Ra Rin. The staff is always kind and accommodating ! Amazing fish curry! Highly recommend.
Love love love.
Good food. Kind service!
Used to eat here frequently, loved the food. I ordered vegetarian Pad Se Ew and it was so dry it was almost not edible. Noodles were tasteless and dry, no sauce to speak of. Even the container was clean inside not a drop of sauce, seasoning. Not sure what happenedi but super disappointed
Party of 4 had cocktails and appetizers+ 4 entrees. The Royal Pumpkin was amazing. I had the Garlic Prawns, so yummy!
Specifically can recommend the papaya salad
Delicious

Great food
Chicken pad thai was excellent!
Higher end Thai food. One of the best places in Eugene.
Great food!
Stephenie C is an awesome waitress. Food excellent.
Good food, very good service with decent atmosphere.
Pineapple fried rice is sweet and loaded with cashew and raisins.
Curry was little spicy but tasty.
Spring rolls were okay ... Golden one were having thicker crust vs other places.
Got take out. Food was fine, but overpriced. I get rising costs, but two pieces of tofu in an $18 quart of soup is a bit over the top.
I'm not the biggest on many cuisines outside of my favorites. Thai is one of my lesser known and therefore I never pick dishes I enjoy. Every sing dish I've had here has been delicious and a personal favorite within Asian foods. Very happy with the service. The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. Perfect for a spicy duck dish enjoyed with friends or ones self
Hopefully dine is good.
I ordered a stir fry with a couple of cocktails. They were delicious!
Hello, I ate lunch with 3 dear friends a few days ago. Our bill was $84.00 so obviously not cheap. I ordered sticky rice, and it's a good thing I was paying attention. There were two small pieces of aluminum foil, in my rice as well as a larger size piece that might have caused damage. I won't stand to think of anyone else, having to experience that. So I decided to post a review, rather than say anything at the time. I will appreciate a complimentary meal for my friends and I, however.
Kirstin was fantastic!
Her energy, service, and interaction with me was refreshing and pleasant.
The food here is always good but I can always appreciate great customer service.
I haven’t enjoyed Thai food like this in a while. It brought back memories of old school Thai Tom’s in the U District (Seattle) back when it first opened. I definitely want to eat here again when we pass through Eugene.
Oh my gosh I absolutely love this place!!! The catfish dish is to die for!!! We will be back over and over!!!!
Had the chicken laarb with mango sticky rice with a Thai milk tea. Food $ dessert were fantastic but the tea was on the sweeter side. Service was great.
Amazing meal. Again. Highly recommended.
The food was great. The service was so-so but they were very busy. We had a group of 6 and they didn't seat us together, we had to sit at two tables that weren't even together. It was a birthday celebration so that wasn't cool.
Good food, but I had a poor server. Ordered spring rolls, she brought me fried ones. My water glass remained empty despite repeated times passing my table. After she brought the correct rolls and left, I finally asked for a refill of my water glass.
When she brought the correct rolls, I asked for a side of fish sauce. She seemed confused by my request. I asked if they had a carousel with various chilis and oils. She then seemed to understand request, said they did have that and would be right back with it.
Over the next five minutes she passed my table several times, going to other tables. She then brought my main to the table and moved off quickly. I'd ordered tofu, it was topped with chicken. Next time she was coming by, I pointed out I'd asked for tofu. She checked the ticket and said, "That's my bad", took my dish back to the kitchen. I also asked about the carousel that she'd said she was going to bring at least five minutes before. When she brought it, she asked if I'd meant thai chilis in fish sauce earlier. I said yes, that's what I'd been asking about so she did bring that.
When my main dish did arrive with the tofu, that was good. My issue was that the server seemed unfocused and made several mistakes.
For context:
There are parties at several other tables but it was not busy.
My spouse is an experienced server; this was the kind of service that she is often critical about when we dine out together.
Maybe the server was new. If so, some slack. Nonetheless, check your orders BEFORE you bring them to the table. Scan tables as you walk by. If you see a water glass needs filling, remember to come back and fill it. If you say you have a condiment and that you're going to bring it right back AND there's no crisis (spilled tray or dishes, water, etc.), do so.
Food was good, nor excellent. My daughter's Food came out on the colder side and our waitress didn't take our order for like 15-20 mins. Another table had to yell and wave to get service.
Fantastic food & service. They catered to our dietary needs.
Bad service!
I ordered the Larb with Pork. The dish was very good. If you do not like wet salad order the dressing on the side. A little sour, I asked for it to be medium spicy and it had a delightful kick.
Best Thai restaurant currently in Eugene Oregon! Usually quite busy for a reason which produces a little bit of a wait... But worth the wait. Not only are they dialed in, I haven't gotten a plate that was, kind of "off"... Very consistent. If you're sensitive to spice and order something with a spice option... You probably want to go with extra mild though. Often a "1" is really a "2", on the spice scale. It's the only thing that's slightly inconsistent. Can always add more pepper but you can't take any away!
The food and service were amazing.
I was there for a friend's birthday, it got crowded and a little loud. To me, that's a good sign of all of the above.
We have eaten here a handful of times and today our food took longer but the issue was more with quality control. The flavors were good, we ordered Pad Kee Mao and Tom Kha, both served with tiny amounts of protein.. Both dishes came out mostly vegetarian. The tiny amount of seafood in Tom kha was overcooked and dry. We had two thin slices of chicken in pad kee mao. Might stick with eating at Chao Pra Ya for our Thai fix.
We love Thai food and were not disappointed. Both the lunch special curry dishes we had were AWESOME. Plenty of food to take home as leftovers.
Best Thai food we've had in ages. We ate vegan yellow curry, tofu Pad Pet and tofu Pad See Ew. So good! Awesome service as well.
Best Thai restaurant in Eugene! Very yummy and economic.
Stopped by this place while driving through town. I felt embarrassed because I couldn't decide on what to order. Everything on the menu looked so good and the menu was huge! The waitress was super kind. Food was great!
Best Thai in Eugene.. parking is limited.
It's not one I would go to every time I wanted Thai but variety is nice to have if my go to is closed like Mondays...
i’m from portland (access to great thai), and both the pad ke maw and pad see ew are super good. like 9/10 overall
We had a great lunch today at Ta Ra Rin. Fresh Salad Rolls are Rice Paper filled with Carrots, Lettuce, Bean Sprouts, Tofu, Basil, Rice Noodles, and Ground Peanuts. I was pleasantly surprised that it came with a Peanut Sauce and a Sweet & Sour Sauce. Such a delicious and refreshing appetizer. The Royal Pumpkin is Golden Fried Pumpkin with Ground Peanuts and a Sweet & Sour Dipping Sauce and it tastes wonderful. The Chicken Pad Thai is Rice Noodles, Egg, Garlic, Green Onion, Bean Sprouts, and Ground Peanuts and the flavor is out of this world. Order a side of Warm Peanut Sauce to drizzle over the dish. You can choose th Heat Level of your food.Service was quick and presented beautifully.
Had an absolutely wonderful experience here, the food was absolutely amazing, I had the roasted duck and it was so tasty, my partner had the spare ribs and they melted off the bone perfectly.
Will be coming back one of the next times we come through!
Food was great. Excellent. Service was very lacking. Very slow. Didn't check in with the table to see if we needed anything. Would recommend checking in with the table regularly. Thank you.
Excellent food and service 👌🏼
Really good food!
Best thai food I ever had..
Very good thai food, very busy as expected on a Saturday night, food server very good and knowledgeable. We had a wedding party of 24 last night and the server got no help with delivering any of the food. I was on my last bites by the time my son's food hit the table. So this could have been a 5 star review if we were a party of 4, but it was shocking that such a nice restaurant didn't have any collaboration in delivering the food for such a huge party.
Awesome food!
Friendly service Good Sum Tom
Best Thai food in Eugene. Awesome drinks as well.

Best Thai restaurant in Eugene.
The food is consistently good here. The massaman curry is the best I've tried in the area so far. We live the black sticky rice with coconut ice cream for dessert.
Best Thai in town. Friendly staff.
Loved the experience here!
Outstanding Thai food. Interesting combinations of flavors!
Excellent food, the fancy eggplant was the hit of the table.
Best Thai food in town, with great service and a calm and lovely atmosphere
Sizzling duck and the sampler platter were REALLY good. This place is always getting it right. 10/10
This place is so gooood. An absolute favorite when I am in Creswell. Good price and portions! A must try.
One of my favorite thai restaurants in Eugene, Oregon.
We came here as a group of 8 and got a big table at the back. It was surprisingly easy to reserve a table when we called 20 minutes ahead of time. But once seated, things were extremely slow. The appetizers came in time but the main course took super long. The food tasted really good, so it was worth the wait. We ordered chicken satay, fresh summer rolls, chicken wings, pineapple fried rice, red curry, a stir fry just to name a few.
The quality of the food, the reasonable prices and the young people running that place makes it special. Everything is fresh and enjoyed the lemongrass chicken and salad but then just seeing the kindness and positive attitude of our youth…man, I hope everyone tips 30% there!
Most of our food was very good. The flavors were fantastic. It was very busy the day we visited. My nieces noodles were overcooked and mushy. But the waitress insisted that its just like that sometimes. She did take half the meal off the ticket.
Noisy and busy and totally worth it. The food was amazing.
Great food and great service.
They caught me slippin. Picked up a to go order and before I knew what happened I had given them a 18% tip. The screen they give you to sign has a tip selection and it starts at 18%. For to go orders? Lame. Plus I asked them for a caffeine free drink for my son. The only option was some straight up gross coconut water they over charged for. The food is good but they don’t care about you or your wallet.
Best Thai in town
Good food, nice service.
Amazing food.
Very Good Food and Drinks!!
Great quality and service. Wil definitely come back again. Excellent food
I was just ordering an online order, for 10 people. The girl who answered the phone was incredibly rude. I decided not to waste our money on a restaurant that hires rude, immature, low class employees.
Good menu selection. Curry entrees are really good. Nice location near downtown and campus
Quick service ; good food; good prices; lots of prawns in the Garlic Prawns special!!
Great food in a cozy atmosphere!
Guessing that the main Chief wasn't working on a Monday night because the food was poor !!` Maybe I'll try them again on a Friday or Saturday evening...... hopefully it'll be much better.
Great flavors and prompt service. Thank you Ta Ra Rin !
The food is fantastic! The service was very slow and it was very loud when we were there.
One of the best Thai restaurants I’ve been to! Food, service, cleanliness — all first rate.
Best Thai 👌
Delicious place to get pad Kee Mao with beef and green curry with chicken!
Found this dinner spot and would highly recommend this Thai place in Eugene. The tofu app is pretty tasty, and a great alternative for any vegetarian. Waitresses were very nice. Three flavor fish was amazing. Kids liked their pad see yew dish. Would come back, 100%.
Delicious food, large portions.
I frequent Ta Ra Rin whenever im in the Eugene area, sometime take the hour drive just to eat here. Ive been coming here for years and never been disappointed. Green curry, pad Thai, green papaya salad, pad kee mao, fresh salad rolls are among my favorites!
The food was amazing the wait time horrible and staff didn't seem concerned about us starving with a 1 year old baby seemed bothered of our request for table rice after a hour wait. It's called customer service and the wait time was double than predicted. I'm a waitress 20 years now and I've never seen such rudeness.
Very good Thai food. I had a mango shrimp dish. Good cocktails too.
Second favorite Thai in Eugene.
Good food but noisy inside
It's just wonderful food. Great balance of flavors and quality ingredients. A must try in Eugene
These people can never get take out orders correct! Not even busy, and they miss items left and right. Very disappointed, do not recommend!!!
Update-
Gave Ta Ra Rin another chance on a to go order I made at the bar. Food was correct, so I'm changing my rating from a 1 star to a 4 star. Hopefully thing can continue to be correct. Stay tuned...
Excellent food and service. Huge portions on the main dishes - the two of us shared an appetizer and a main and it was plenty of food, perfectly cooked.
We love to go to Ta Ra Rin. The atmosphere is nice and the service is much better than the other place we love where the service has tanked. I decided to try something new and had the Lava Catfish and I am so glad I did. I can't wait to go back and have it again. It was a busy weekend afternoon but the service was pretty good and the food was great. This is always a sure thing.
Ta Ra Rin is one of my most favorite Thai restaurants. Authentic and absolutely delicious 😋
This place is very improved from several years ago. We were able to find a quiet table in the back near the back exit. This was perfect as it was rather crowded and loud and my friend had their service animal. The staff were great, friendly and respectful. Food came really quick and was pretty delicious. I had Pad Thai and my friend had the green curry. Everything tasted fresh and cooked to perfection.
I actually have to change my rating, the food an atmosphere were good but the wait staff made it really painful to tip them. I couldn't even find my waiter most of the time and when I wanted to pay and leave it took way too long and I gave up and went to the front desk where they told me I still had to wait for the server that I could not find just to pay and leave. (Not that they were helping someone else and it was busy but they were nowhere to be found) so I am changing my 5 star review to a 2 because after that I just couldn't go back. I tipped anyways and just got the heck out of there but never wanted to go back the experience just wasn't worth the cost and energy.
$8 for 3 spring rolls is insane.
Absolutely solid and delicious Thai food. My go-to. Impressive and professional.
An outstanding dining experience for us, we were seated immediately and our waitress was friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. Lovely food, we enjoyed the spring rolls and two sauces immensely, and the calamari dish was 😋 delicious! Great value for the money!
Great food and large portions. Very tasty especially the"crab Rangoon". That's not what they called it but it's on the appetizers
