Asian Street food
Checked out a new to us food truck Kai's Asian Street Food, and it was very pleasing. The Hat Yai Fried Chicken was a large portion of juicy deliciousness and it comes with Sticky Rice. We also had Mango over beautiful Blue Rice that was just the right amount of sweetness. I will be going back soon. We have been back many times and have not been disappointed. The Pad Thai has Rice Noodles, Egg, Bean Sprouts, Peanuts, Shallots, Scallions, and a Lime Wedge sauteed in Pad Thai Sauce and it is fantastic! The Fried Crispy with Thai Sweet Chili Sauce with Thai Sticky Rice or Jasmine Rice is a favorite. Crab Rangoon is Fried Crab and Cream Cheese in a Wrap Wonton Skin served with Sweet Chili Sauce and they are an excellent appetizer. The Sesame Balls are filled with Sweet Red Bean Paste and are delectable.
Kai is a great restaurant and everything i’ve had has been amazing. I particularly love the shrimp pad thai i’ve yet to find another restaurant that can match it. The sweet, savory, and tanginess is a flavor profile I crave. I’d highly recommend to try it out.
The food is great and at a fair price point for what you get. They get it out to you surprisingly quick after my disappointing experience up the street at tacovore this place hit the spot it's unfortunate it's in such a terrible part of town but the owner has really taken pride in his area of the restaurant and tries to shield you from the drug addicts walking by with privacy fencing.
My tonkatsu ramen, spring rolls, and Thai iced tea were all very flavorful, carefully packaged, and served at the perfect temperatures. Great, friendly service!
Some good vegan options. I like ordering here because the good customer service really shows when you order your tofu noodle dish w/o eggs they give you plenty of tofu so you will actually be full. They give you a good portion when you order spring rolls too. I've also gotten their sesame balls in the past and they are tasty.
Only outside tables without heater. Was pretty cold:(
Pad thai was very good 4 out of 5.
But the curry was not good at all. Very simple, not enough juice from curry. I would give it 2 out of 5.

everything about this place is a 10/10 from the friendliest face on the planet to the best food on this side of the i5. absolutely rocks
The best pad thai in Eugene

The crispy pork belly is so good, and the sticky rice is cooked perfectly
We love Kai Thai ❤️ easy to call in an order and pick it up, also nice sitting in the shade across from Ninkasi. Spicy means spicy 😋
The best ever :) love the freshness of it too and nice service

Nice little food stand in the heart of the whit.
Best Crab Rangoons around!!!
Thanks for the great food and service with a smile every time! You guys rock and make some DELICIOUS food. See you again real soon.
LOVE KAI! I've been coming here for a few years now and they never disappoint. The chicken bulgogi is really great if you like spicy, I love the spring rolls and the sweet chili sauce, the crab rangoons are the BEST I've had, I also love the tonkotsu curry as a comfort food. I would highly recommend Kai if you enjoy thai food.
Amazing food.Excellent and fast service.
Delicious and consistent good food.
Amazing crispy pork and fried rice!
Delicious, friendly, and fast!
The crispy pork was fantastic! Spring rolls + mango rice were delicious. Hai yai chicken was slightly dry. I didn't love that their tip option at check-out defaults to 18%, 20%, 25%... it's a food cart guys with no table service... But would order take out again.
Just had the ramen and it was delicious. My only complaint was that they were a little light on the protein (2 small pieces of pork) but maybe that's standard. Still a delicious meal. Will be back

Just wow 😍 It is so hard to find real authentic Thai food! I was a little skeptical of "food truck" but im so glad I did it, and you will be too! Many choices to chose from, so much flavor, and the perfect amount of spice (spicy because I asked for it). The gentlemen were very sweet and quick. It's a MUST HAVE. I'm Thai, and I'm picky about "real Thai food", and this was like my grandma's cooking. I tried Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, the Coconut Shrimp was perfect! Thai tea and Thai coffee! All spot on, what a gem!
A hidden gem! With high quality menu offerings, fast service, and very reasonable prices, Kai is well worth the visit.
Absolutely delicious ramen. The best in Eugene! And I always love sesame balls. They worked really hard to make a good seating area as well.
Those donuts are fantastic. Love this food
Favorite food spot in the neighborhood
A must stop great food and service!
Everything we ate was so good. The ramen bowl 🤤 we will be back for sure!
Super cute little setup they got there and food was great! They were really nice too. I've heard the Thai doughnuts are delicious but unfortunately they were out will definitely be going back to try them
I had the fried chicken it was amazing. The kind of great food when you're full keep taking bites of it and then you say you're done and you have another bite. I also saw a woman commenting a bad review and I think her view is b******* she didn't really know what she was ordering and she's not used to the cuisine. I highly recommend this place you will not be disappointed and this is coming from a Whitaker foody and Wanda DE Jesus a 5 star chef who is 74 years old said this is her new place for fried chicken..
love this place
Just ordered from here, I've read all the incredible reviews and have been hearing about it for a year, so I was super excited to try it. My curry rice is flavorless, the chicken is dry and way overcooked. I ordered my bfs noodles spicy, but that's literally the only flavor on it. I'm confused and extremely disappointed. Only reason I gave it 3 stars was because the noodles are okay in texture and the sesame balls were alright. Not great, jus alright. Forty bucks for some severe dissatisfaction.
Edit: Changed my review to one star because we literally couldn't finish anything it was so bad.
Those dang Crab Rangoons are so incredibly delicious. Price is the best in town, 10x better than some place like PF Chang.
Plus the staff kind and friendly.
Love this place !
Best Thai tea! Come here at least once a week! Never had anything nasty
One of the good restaurants to eat here in Eugene 😊
Great stuff! This place really captures the platonic ideal of street food from across the pacific. The ramen in particular is amazing; every part of it is just so rich and sweet and delicious! Plus I'm pretty sure this is the only place in Eugene that still puts chashu pork belly in the ramen - which is easily the best part of ramen. Thai tea kicks butt as well!
We are looking forward to trying more items from this menu. The food arrived warm, cooked perfectly, flavors and textures balanced. We had the Crab Rangoon and Pad Thai with a side of peanut sauce. Not too sweet, not too sour, not too spicy, just delicious. My choosy-eater child was delighted! We will order again!
This place is awesome! Their portions are generous, especially fried chicken with rice. I tried most of the things of the menu and all of them were fresh and prepared within 10 minutes.
The steamed buns and crab Rangoon is great
Always fresh and delicious. The owner is a lovely fellow and offers great service!
My wife and I rode our bikes here on Friday evening. We really enjoyed it. Nice outdoor seating, great food, reasonable prices. We shared an entree and several small plates. Too much food for us, honestly, but really tasty. Recommended.
Eaten here a few times, had the shoyu ramen, tonkotsu ramen, curry rice, bao, pad kee mao, pad thai, kapow kai, and mango sticky rice and loved every one of them. Was surprised by the coconut-lemongrass flavor in the tonkotsu ramen and the non-panko breading on the tonkatsu but both were delicious. Seems like the people who work here put a lot of care into the food they put out.
One of Eugene's finest food trucks tucked in the Whitaker Neighborhood on Blair. Try the Thai Green Tea! If you Sound this review to be helpful please like it.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
5/5 have never had a dish I haven’t liked!
I’ve been coming to Kai for years - SK (haha on the same name) and Nathan are always personable, kind, and I look forward to talking to them on the phone whenever I call ahead (never more than a 15 minute wait)
I usually order the chicken bulgogi special with extra veggies, their tofu / veggie green curry (extra rice if you want to eat twice), pad Thai with tofu or veggies, Thai spring rolls, gyoza, or pad see yew. Their Thai iced tea with coconut milk is also wonderful!
I appreciate the quality and quantity, very affordable for the price. I have a dairy allergy and appreciate that I’ve never had an accidental exposure and every dish can easily be made DF, vegetarian or vegan.
I just love this cart 🥰
The best way to eat Phad Thai.
best thai food i have ever had (& i’ve had a LOT)
One of the best food trucks in town! I’ve tried a couple of their appetizers and entrees and everything has been delicious. The service is also excellent, very kind and friendly employees. Would really recommend this place!
Great food. Not too spicy.
Tasty
This place is way underrated !!!
the VEGAN RAMEN IS SO GOOD - i didn’t get tofu because i never liked tofu but without it, it’s still so good & you get so much for the price!
Their veggie spring rolls are good too :-)
We hit all three food trucks in this lot while in town, starting with Kai. The Ramen is very, very good. My wife ordered her noodle dish too hot (you get what you ask for) but she still wouldn't share. They are now on our short list when visiting Eugene. Locals are enjoyable to.
Was great food
Great food, nice guys. We go there regularly. They're also really easy to drive to from most parts of town, being so close to the 105 ramp. Sometimes I go just for the sesame balls. Yum.
Great street food, fast service, big portions
Always friendly a couple outdoor tables. Good food.
Shared pad thai and spring rolls with my friend... it was prepared very quickly and affordable. Outdoor tables were a bit rickety though, and my friend, who is older, almost fell coming down 3 steps from the ordering area as they are a bit steep.
Never fails to provide fast service with great South Asian style street food. I eat here too much!!!
Holy dear gods this place is amazing. Great food, fast, affordable, and friendly service. On top of that, the drinks are also amazing. I'm about ready to return with a pitcher and ask if they can just fill it for me. Get the pad see ew, and definitely check out the specials as well. I'm still dreaming of the mango sticky rice.
Very excellent, very tasty!
Had the pork chops and the Thai spring rolls. Pork chop was overcooked and very very salty. The Thai spring rolls were the exact same kind you get at panda express and in the frozen section of your local market.
One of my favorite food trucks in town for SURE. I have eaten quite a few things here and I have loved each and every item. Sweet people running the truck, you can taste the care in each bite. Highly recommend!
Delicious. You have to get the tea too
The Vegan Ramen was delicious except the tofu, I love tofu, I even eat it raw, but there was something wrong with this. So I removed it, the rest was good, the cauliflower was crunchy I'm not sure if this was intended or not.
Not sure why Google asks whether this place is on a multi story level or if there's table service when it's a food cart. But they were prompt and accurate when it came to my order. Ty
Excellent food, quick service.
Great staff, and location to downtown. Broth was amazing in Ramen and nice spice even in the mild in pad Tai.
I eat here frequently because every single thing I have tried is delicious. They are consistently delicious too - I would easily pick their Pad Kee Mow or Pad Si Ew over ANY Thai restaurant in town (yes, including Ta Ra Rin and Sabai). They are also so nice and fast! I’ve lived in Eugene for 8 years and wish they had been here that long. Hands down my favorite place to get food in Eugene!
Omg the satay was the best I have ever had and I have eaten all of street food. I will be making the 45 minute trip back to Eugene for this special treat! I haven't even tried the peanut sauce that co.es with this meat. If you are a meat on a stick kind of person this is a fine choice. My wife had the dumplings
They were supposed to be for dinner but she ate them all!
Fresh and delicious
The calamari #3 is delicious. The thai ice tea on point. The pork curry rice plate #8 Delicious. The # 11 with chili paste still making my mouth water.
The hours of operation specified on the website/Yelp are only suggested times. I would place an order at least 1hr-1:30 BEFORE close if you want to get some food here. Otherwise, you may end up placing an order and they could be closed by the time you arrive.
Never ordering here again! The fried pork tasted oily and old, and the rice was not edible, it was sticked together and chewy. The noodles of ramen are nasty.
I don't recommend this place. I order the Tonkatsu Ramen, and the noodles were overcooked and the quality of noodles are not good, I also ordered the crispy pork, the pork wasn't as bad, but the rice was impossible to eat, it was chewy like if you were eating plastic. I also ordered the spicy chicken bulgogi, was not spicy at all and the chicken was chopped in tiny little pieces, too chopped!!
Remarkably good food and very friendly service staff
Excellent, it's a food truck, that appears to have found a permanent home, and has a nice deck built in front of it, just make your way up the few steps, step up to the window and place your order, or call it in as I did, and pick it up.
It may be a little off the beaten path, but well worth the experience!!!
Obviously Asian fusion cuisine has been the domineering force lately, but Kai takes it to another level. Thai inspired Ramen is all you need to know. Sauces leave a bit to be desired but overall they are always a quality choice. I only wish they had some carb low options, easily achieved with Julienned squash.
This place knows spicy 🔥 #10 💚
Ordered fried chicken, perhaps a mistake. A bit dry, not a ton of flavor, no real batter or crunch. Sticky rice also dry and pretty flavorless. I’d say mediocre if you’re dying for a chicken fix, but makes me skeptical to order anything else. Came out hot and quick tho so 3 stars
When I first discovered this place I went like 2-3 times a week - tried a bunch of stuff and everything I got was good. But I ESPECIALLY recommend the Thai donuts, those things are amazing (unless you are allergic to peanuts)
Have gone twice now, and both dishes were excellent! Looking forward to trying out more.
The fried chicken was boneless chicken thighs that were rubbed with asian spices, a light breading and served with a homemade thai sweet chili sauce. Phad Kee Mao was as good as I've had anywhere, and medium was pretty spicy. (Eyes watering and nose running as I type)
The pork is dynamite 😁
I don't doubt this place can be very good like all the other reviews said. Unfortunately the first time I went there, they gave me fried chicken that tasted like 7 days old and cooked over and over again, hard like rock. The pork was the same way. So disappointed. Never going back again.
This place is incredible. Possibly my favorite food cart in town.
This place is amazing. I've had the Ka Pao chicken and the fried chicken, both are some of the best dishes I've ever had. Appetizers are decent, but the highlight are the entrees. Can't make a wrong choice with them.
I went in to pick up my order. The employees have music playing, which in it self is not an issue. However, the issue is the type of music playing. And that is music with lyrics using all kinds of profanity. This is not the type of music that should be played at a public venue like a restaurant.
Amazing!
Delicious
Yum
This place was fast and delicious! Prices aren’t too bad either. I got a 5 piece coconut shrimp for $4.95. And it was super yummy. Definitely will be coming back!
Love this spot! Delicious, rich flavors, not too greasy but still fulfilling.. could add more veggies/ vegetarian options but if you do eat meat their pork and chicken are excellent! Also super friendly guys who own and work the cart. Enjoy!
Always delicious, full of flavor
I absolutely LOVE Asian food. Authentic ramen is my favorite dish so I have had it from many places. I can say for me this place has the best ramen around. It was beautifully presented and tasted incredible. 10/10 would recommend anytime!
Delicious!
Kao mon gai!
Been twice now, fresh food and delicious. Very friendly staff. They have good portion size have had the 10. PhadThai & 11.Pad Kee Mao ( my favorite of the two but both very tasty.)
