I'm still hungry very hungry at times after I finish a lunch here these lunch portions are tiny

Delicious Thai food. I had pad see ew. Beware that the spice levels are serious, it’s hot if you ask for it hot!

Food was fantastic. The spice is very high, so go down a notch from what you are used to. The service was very friendly. We went to lunch with a group 7 and they were quick enough that we all were done in an hour. I had the fried tofu and it was amazing.

Diner Review №13

Best Thai food I've ever had. Definitely best in Cincinnati area. Please go there.

Food was amazing, very fresh and tasty. I will definitely keep coming back.

I love the flavor, spice, and hospitality I receive at Sawasdee. The food, service, and atmosphere have been a consistent positive and wonderful experience. I enjoy dining at Sawasdee and experiencing authentic Thai cuisine.

Diner Review №17

Good food great, service was good

Diner Review №18

If you ever wish for something more than Thai hot levels of heat, they have 3 levels of Fire Breathing Dragon that are beyond there. It's not on the menu they hand you, but you can ask for it. It's incredibly intense, but still able to enjoy the flavor. You can buy their spice mix at the restaurant. My favorite Thai place when I'm in the Cincinnati area.

Diner Review №19

Very good, but very spicy even at low spice levels

Diner Review №20

I'm not kidding when I say this is the best Thai food in the greater Cincinnati area. It was a weekly lunch staple when I worked in Fairfield. I don't know what they do with their Singapore Noodles, but I order the same dish every time I'm at a Thai/Fusion restaurant that has it and I've never found one that comes close.

Diner Review №21

Service is inconsistent, some days it's spot on, and other days you might not get much attention.

The food is good overall. They know how to spice things in a large range. Mild is truly mild, and hot can make you sweat.

For the green curry shrimp, sauce runs thin, doesn't have the balanced flavor of the pad Thai, but it's okay. Vegetables are cooked pretty decent. The eggplant isn't mushy, and the peppers and carrots have a good firmness to them. Portion and flavor is a little underwhelming for the price.

For the pad Thai chicken, spice level 4, the flavors were spot on. The balance of umami, sweet, salty, and sour, they nailed it. The heat helped carry it as well. The noodles were tender and not overdone (easy to do with rice noodles), the other vegetables and meat were enough to add to the flavor of the dish, and the portion size was great for the cost. It might be too big of a dish for a lunch, so maybe a lunch menu could be an option for them in the future.

I'll aim for noodle dishes over curry. As for the sushi, it is fresh, and the flavor of the rice is good.

This place has an interesting layout, with a lobby-ish feeling at the entrance instead of packing it with tables. It feels spacious and inviting, having a high-top bar next to a loveseat and chair set (seats 4), while the color scheme has good contrast of dark floor with bright walls, accented with colors that evoke a refreshing feeling.

The menu is varied, not overdone with too many options, not underdone either. The selection looks like there is enough to make me want to come back and try out not only the staple Thai dishes, but also some of their house specials.

They offer 8 spice levels (2 you have to pay extra for), and encourage you not to go over 3 (matches jalapeno spice). And they're not playing around either. There is a policy of no returns based on spice levels, so if you like spice but are nervous you might get it too spicy, don't push past 4. They use Thai chilies, and those pack some heat.

Diner Review №22

Love this place. Been eating at Sawasdee even back when they were in former location if Fairfield. Best I have found in the Nati.

Diner Review №23

While the food was tasty, there was a delay in the take out.
Food was expensive & had less quantity for the amount being charged.

Diner Review №24

Very terrible service. I ordered sushi without the crab meat and at first they said they couldn’t do that, for what reason I’m not sure. Then I spoke with a manager who said they can and I asked to substitute crab meat for carrots and they charged me an extra $2 for it. The girl answering the phone was so rude and very unhelpful. Didnt care about the customer at all.

This place opened up recently in West Chester so we had to try it. We got a little bit of everything but mostly grabbed our Thai favorites including pad Thai, papaya salad, and tod mun. We also tried a sushi roll and 2 other dishes and it did not disappoint! Food was good and the server was very helpful when we asked a few questions. Overall would recommend trying out for yourself!

Diner Review №27

I took my father to lunch here and had a very good pad thai meal. He had a similar noodle dish with a Thai tea. There was only one server, but he did a nice job on a rainy Sunday. It is Ina quit strip mall set back from the main drag and worth a visit.

Diner Review №28

I am sad to say I will not be back. The service was slow, the prices high, and the food was disappointing. I will say the sushi was good, but the drunken noodles were dry, and the soup was watery coconut milk topped with brown/spoiled basil.

Diner Review №29

It was my brother's graduation party and we had a party of about 30 people. They accommodated very well. Food was very good, I personally enjoyed the spring rolls very well. We all had a great time there and will definitely recommend Sawasdee to friends and family. Service was excellent

Truly amazing authentic Thai food not generic Asian like others. Very friendly staff and always so happy to see you come in. I love the Chefs Special fried rice but family all love something different. Pad Thai amazing, daughter loves the sushi. 0 no spice and 5 will make you cry.

Diner Review №37

Dropped in to place an order and were told 20-30 minutes. Finally got the order an hour later!!!!! It was obvious that they had overlooked placing the order, which they denied. However, they did discount the food somewhat which indicates that they knew they had messed up. Also, we stressed that it should not be heavily peppered as some reviews had stated previously. Of course the food had too much black pepper just as the other reviews had stated was a bit of a problem. A disappointment to say the least.

Diner Review №38

Love the food here! Been eating at Sawasdee for years. Once I found it, I won’t go anywhere else for Thai food. Service is amazing, the owner is just the sweetest person. Love the new location in West Chester, although I’m sad I have to drive a little further to get to it, but it’s not too bad. Be mindful of the spice levels. The food will be much spicier than anticipated. A level 1 here is the equivalent of a 3/4 somewhere else. But it’s always fresh, well-prepared, and absolutely delicious!

Diner Review №39

Years ago, I reluctantly tried Thai food for the first time at Sawasdee. The following week, I could not get it out of my head! I had to have more. Sawasdee is my all-time favorite place to eat (dine-in or take-out). The Pad Thai is the most authentic and delicious I have ever had. Other restaurants I've tried simply can't compare. I have been a loyal customer for several years now, rooting for them on the journey to their new location, and Lek and friends have always been so kind and pleasant to be around.

Diner Review №40

I got the Pad Thai. It was good probably should have ask for extra peanuts. I liked the spice of it reminded me of the Thai restaurants back in my hometown Detroit. I definitely could have got a 4 instead of a 3.5. Very flavorful minus the gnats please. The gnats were very bothersome and annoying to constantly have to swat them away just to enjoy my food. Took a shrimp fried rice to go for my daughter she said it was delicious and taste grilled which is something she liked about it. Our waiter was nice and attentive. The atmosphere of the restaurant was decent. Overall nice place and good food. Just do something about the gnats please.

We decided to go to Sawasdee for our group birthday dinner. We called a few days in advance, and they were easily able to accommodate our 7-person reservation. This was our first visit to the new location, and we will be back again and again! The food was dynamite, and the service was fantastic!
We started with appetizers (not pictured), the crab rangoons we so good our table got 3 orders! The curried fish cakes and accompanied dipping sauce were unique and tangy. Pictured Main courses: Pad Ka Prao Moo Sub (Holy Basil Stir-Fry With Ground Pork) & Panang Curry.
We finished off with a cooling Four Seasons Roll. The sushi chef even made us a special off menu dish, which was a very sweet gesture.
15/10, we will be back!
Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Diner Review №47

I read so many great reviews about this restaurant that I had to try it. I will absolutely be back! Everyone from the hostess to the server, and the manager were all so nice and attentive. I had the tofu pad Thai, and it was absolutely delicious.

Diner Review №48

Despite asking for a vegetarian option, they had fish sauce in the soup. Pad Thai and fried rice were extremely oily. Oli was dripping out of every dish.

Diner Review №49

Came in and sat down immediately. Ordered seaweed salad, Shrimp tempura roll, pork potstickers, and the chef’s special fried rice. Sushi and seaweed salad came out quickly, seaweed salad was crunchy, fresh, and refreshing. The sushi roll was rolled tightly and didn’t come apart, the rice was perfectly sticky and the shrimp was crisp. The Potstickers were amazing and had a wonderful sauce. The chef’s special fried rice that I had was absolutely incredible! For sure will be back!

Diner Review №50

Our fourth visit to the new location, same delicious food and friendly service as before. Much bigger dining room complete with cloth tablecloths. Comfortable atmosphere. Fantastic sushi too! Recently added games to play at the table - fun!

Diner Review №51

Been desperate for a quality Thai restaurant in the area. This one might honestly be it! I’m a spice-a-holic and I even had trouble with a 3. Believe them when they recommend a 1.

Even tried the sushi and it was very very tasty for an affordable price.

Pad Kee Mao was delicious and if you don’t overdose the spice in the curry, it’s very very good.

I honestly hope this place stays around because it has a chance to become a staple of West Chester.

I'm surprised I haven't left a review for this place yet!
My favorite Thai place of all time. In fact only the third one I ever went to.
The food has never disappointed, and I have been going since they opened at their Fairfield location; anyone asking me for a restaurant recommendation, Sawasdee is always at the top of the list.

The food is all fresh, cooked to order, and packed with flavor. There hasn't been one thing I've gotten that I disliked, but my absolute favorites will always be the Chef's Special fried rice and Hot Spicy Basil Chicken (at their new location, this is now "Holy Basil Pork Stir Fry" or Pad Kra Pao Moo Sub). My mom is a huge fan of the Hot Pot, and a coworker if mine really loves the Singapore Noodles. The appetizers are scrumptious and I am hard pressed not to order one even when I've shown up not feeling as hungry. I live for her spring rolls and sauced chicken wings.

I love that Lek is always actively trying to add new specials. The jalapeño bomb, Chef's special rice, and Cincinnati rolls weren't always on the menu, but I am so glad they are. Occasionally she has stewed pork leg on special and it is TO. DIE. FOR.

To give you an idea of how much I love the food and the staff here: when they closed their Fairfield location, I set their Facebook page to "See First" so I could without-a-doubt make sure I could be there their opening day.
I had several friends in high-school work here, and Lek has gone so far as to give me a birthday gift one year when my mom and I came in for lunch that day. She is always spoiling her regulars, and for a long time, every time my parents and I would visit, she would let us taste what she was considering adding to the menu. This woman can literally cook anything she sets her mind to.
I an honestly so glad to know Lek and her cooking; she is one of the most kindest, hard-working souls on the planet. There was a time when she was recovering from a knee injury, and she was still back there dishing it out in her cast with her little scooter, God bless her 🥺

Eat here! Everything is good!

Pad thai & Basil Fried rice with spice level 3, can't go wrong. Consistent on both the dishes. Banana bread when available is really good as well.

Diner Review №68

We had thai fried rice and pad thai and sushi 🍣 for our appetizer. Our entree was very good, thought the portion was slightly smaller than other similar restaurants. The sushi was good, not the best I've had. They were short on staffs so it took about 20 mins to get our entrees and drinks in but was attentive with refills. I would recommend it.

Diner Review №69

First time since they reopened and everything was great! Perfect spring rolls, red curry shrimp was amazing, yellowtail Nigiri was so good.
So happy you guys are back!

Diner Review №71

Amazing food. Very spicy if you want which is great.

Diner Review №72

Beautiful new location! The best authentic Thai food! Great place, great people!

Diner Review №73

Went in to get a carryout order for the first time. Staff was super friendly. I ordered Pad Thai and when they asked me for my spice level I ordered the "Fire Breathing Dragon" (You can order 1-5 spicy, then there is FBD, FBD+, FBD++). I have to say - Fire Breathing Dragon level DELIVERS in every way. While most would find it too spicy (the staff warned me it's HOT), those who want that extra kick in their food are not going to find anything to complain about here! Everything tasted fresh, portion was perfect - I WILL be back to get the FBD++. Thank you Sawasdee Team - Lunch was awesome!

Tried this place out today with my kids and loved the food! The owner was very friendly. Nice outdoor patio and indoor dining spot. Drinks to come soon! I would highly recommend to anyone that likes sushi and Thai food!!

Diner Review №76

Still amazing with the new opening. My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for years. I love how they give the tofu the perfect crisp and the flavor is well balanced. They also offer vegan sauce if you dont do fish. Their spice level does tend to be stronger than other places. We usually do a spice level of 0.5 or 1 here. Other places a spice level 2 tastes like no spice. So I appreciate that they add spice. If you can’t handle spice, just get a zero.

They played a Disney movie since there were kids dining in.

Diner Review №77

Great food and the customer service was terrific!

Diner Review №78

I wanted to like this place. My husband and I got curries (yellow and red) and we ordered a glass noodle salad. We didn't get the glass noodle salad as they were either out or just didn't make it (the explanation was unclear). We both normally get spicy level 3-4. We were cautious because of reviews and got one for both of us. We were both sweating and sucking down water on a 1. Both curries while very spicy had little "curry" flavor. Both bland with just hot at the end. The rice itself was hard in some areas (like it was scraped from the bottom of the pan). We got a to-go order and ate at home but none of the problems would have been fixed if we ate there. I so badly wanted to like this place. It's cute inside but the food was just not good.

Diner Review №79

Food was bad and the customer service was even worse. Spice level 1 was so hot on both dishes we ordered, that it was not edible. Vegetables were undercooked and we were given old rice and only filled up half the rice box (we ordered pickup). We called to let them know and they told us not to order what we ordered next time and to order something else, because the two dishes we ordered cannot be ordered lower than a spice level 1. Like, what?! It doesn’t even make sense. You’re telling me that the yellow curry and the Thai spicy dish at the lowest spice level (1) cannot be made at a lower spice level? It has to burn your mouth? They were of no help. Plenty of other places in the area for Thai food.

Diner Review №80

I ordered the Thai Spicy (spice level 1). I have had this same dish at Thai Spicy (in Mason) and really enjoyed it (Hence the reason I tried at at Sawasdee. The spice level 1 was so spicy I could barely eat it. I’ve had a lot of Thai food over the years, so I know spice levels vary from place-to-place. However, I’ve never had a spic 1 make my nose run, my face sweat, and my throat burn.

In addition to the spice level issue, the rice was very dry (old rice), and the rice container was only half full. The vegetables were almost raw (very crunchy and not cooked).

We called to inform the manager, and were informed we could get 10% off our next meal, and we could come back for some more rice. We were informed that this is normal for spice level 1 (not normal for any other Thai restaurant we have tried). No excuse was given for the undercooked vegetables.

We live close to this restaurant, we love Thai food, and were excited to try this place. Very disappointing experience overall. I hope they improve, but based on our conversation with he manager, it’s very unlikely, as they just made excuses, made us feel like we don’t know Thai food, and offered more dried out rice and a 10% discount for our next visit.

Sushi Monk was much better and didn’t survive. We wish you the best of luck, and hope you make adjustments.

Diner Review №81

Experience was not very good!! Brought food out at different times for each diner.....so nobody was served at the same time. Also asked for mild spice level. The pad Thai was so spicy it was inedible. Finally the pad Thai had 4 tiny pieces of meat on it. Les meat than is on a hamburger from McDonald's. And was charged $17.00. Way to expensive for what you get which was basically a plate of noodles and bean sprouts. Save your money there are way better Thai places for less money in Cincinnati.

Diner Review №82

Unfortunately I discovered this place the week they intend to close due to issues with management after 11 years (they expressed this on a poster outside the entrance door and inside on the wall). The food was very good and a tolerable spicy level (by choice). I had enough for the next day's meal. I ordered the pineapple fried rice with chicken which includes raisins and cashews. If they reopen in a convenient location I would revisit. Service was good and the wait time was reasonable.

Diner Review №90

I LOVE the food here! I am never disappointed when I dine in here. I always order the Thai fried rice- level 2, spring rolls, and the jalapeño bomb.

Diner Review №91

Carry out was provided with great service! The cincinnati roll is amazing

Diner Review №92

Inexpensive and delicious, worth way more than what you pay! Has great sushi as well and I'd highly recommend, especially the dragon roll! Service was good and the wait time wasn't long. Unfortunately this location will close and move by December 23rd 2021. Please go and support this store!

I usually have a great experience at this restaurant but today was very different. I get three dishes plus a sushi roll to go. I get my food and I arrive back at my house to enjoy my meal with my family. Everything but one dish was excellent. One of the dishes tasted burned. I wasn’t too upset about that, people cannot be perfect. The issue came when I went back to the restaurant. The chefs told me that my food was not burned and that they have been cooking that way for 11 years so they don’t understand why I’m complaining. To address a customer like that is unacceptable. The receptionist was nice but the chefs need to have better customer service when people have an issue. I will not be returning to the restaurant.

Diner Review №104

Best Thai food in town hands down

Diner Review №105

The food was tasty, voice level was my favorite, but not for the price and I've never been to a Chinese or Japanese place and been charged for soy sauce, which is saltier compared to the packets! 👎🏽

Good food combined with creative presentation is the best in my opinion.

The food was excellent. Got carry out pad se ewe, tom yum soup, and red dragon sushi roll.

Spice Level 3 (described as "hotter than jalapeño") proved accurate and perfect. Roll was big.

Only drawback was it took 30 mins for food to be ready. For what it's worth, they told me prior to the order that is how long it would be. That said, that meant my food was made to order and deliciously fresh.

We ordered from here through Door Dash and the app has descriptions for every meal. However, the Red Curry did not specify that it contained fish oil. My mom is very allergic to sea food and ordered this dish confidently with chicken. She experienced and allergic reaction immediately and went to check if the description of the dish said it had fish. It did NOT! We called the restaurant directly to ask about their dish. The lady who answered not only didn’t know if they used fish, she also never apologized! She went to ask if there was fish in the red curry and confirmed they did indeed use the ingredient. She then told us that we were supposed to click the “vegan” option to receive the curry without fish oil. She didn’t offer to replace the item or try and make our experience better in any way. We won’t be ordering from here anymore.

Amazing Thai food. Be aware if the spice level you select. If you think a jalapeno is high do not go over level 1 spice.

Diner Review №167

I ordered the lunch Singapore noodle and a spring roll via DoorDash and it was super tasty! The spring roll was a little greasy but overall the flavor was good. I also hate to say it but the other comments about portion sizes via takeout/delivery are pretty accurate. It about 60%-70% the amount of the food that I usually get from House of Bangkok. If you're not super hungry and you want a flavorful Thai dish, give them a shot!

Diner Review №168

The food is great! They use fresh ingredients and prepare the food well. The only complaint I have is that there is a wait for the meals to come out, and if it's busy, then you could be waiting for up to an hour from the time you get there to the time you get your dish. But it's worth the wait!

Diner Review №173

This place seems authentic. I tried the $5 chive dumplings, which were the daily special. They were good, but I recommend eating them before eating something spicy as the spice flavor overwhelmes the more delicate flavors of the dumplings. I ordered a 4 of 5 spicy soup, which was fairly spicy. They aren't messing around, and they have several signs up that say no returns due to ordering something spicy. The hot chart in the menu is accurate, but a lot of people don't expect those things to be truly accurate. I could of handled a five, but I love spice. For .50 cents more, you can add even extra spice, which seems a little extreme, but hey, if you like it spicy....

The only reason I didn't give this place a five star review was the soup broth wasn't super flavorful.

Food was excellent, lunch serving size was a little on the smaller size. Eat there each time we are in town.

Diner Review №179

The vegetable fried rice at spice level 3 is AWESOME! The vegetable egg rolls we're just as amazing! The service is up to par, never had any complaints!

Always good!

Diner Review №181

Miso soup was great. The yellow curry was unusually sweet an not spicy at level 3. The sushi we had was very good.

Diner Review №182

Really good sushi, for a really good price! Also you get huge portions!

Loved it

Diner Review №185

Service was lacking. If someone else helped just a little, that would be good. The food was excellent!

It was my sons birthday today so we went here for lunch. He had a live flea in his food. Rather then bring it to the restaurants attention I paid for our meal and went to McDonald’s. So disappointed.

Ordered eat in, waited for my food which was ready and served on time. After which I was asked if I wanted water, said yes, water was served while eating, no napkins nothing. Got done eating, waited for a good 10 minutes before leaving, I wasn’t even offered or asked if I wanted a paper towel. Super bad customer service.

Didn't even get to taste the food because of a poor customer service experience! I have been craving Thai tea and while the first initial experience was pleasant, the host was kind, my second experience left a bad taste in my mouth, without even really getting to taste the food! There is a $5 minimum charge on credit cards while my husband is a business owner I understand the reasoning behind this as they are taxed for using credit card services... the first time I tipped 100% ($2.50) on a $2.50 Thai tea.. no problem having to do that to reach the minimum. Well I had a craving a couple days later. I got to the restaurant at 8:45 they said they were closed because they were out of food on a Friday! I understood being a restaurant manager in the past, and it being the Covid era, so I just told them I wanted a Thai tea. It was a different host this time and she seemed more interested in cleaning than serving, but she said she could do the tea. She then told me this was the only time they could do the one tea unless I wanted to buy 2, i agreed though i didn't understand the less tip, and it would have been the same charge either way and less product. I told her I couldn't drink both but would save one for tomorrow so to not put ice in one so I could have a fresh one tomorrow. I also requested light ice in the one for now, seeing as how they put alot of ice and less tea. When she brought me the receipt I saw the total was $6.93. Confused as to how 2 $2.50 teas became almost $7... I at this point felt bad she had already poured the teas and took them. I shouldn't feel forced to purchase them but it was only $7 and didn't want to make a big deal. My problem was the customer service! Looking at my receipt o saw that they charge $1 for no ice and .50 for light ice.. lol.. again my problem was the host not communicating that because at that point it wasn't a big deal, I would not have purchased anything and took my service to Starbucks for a frap! It's a Thai tea.. at this point I could have had an entree! Like I said, customer service really turned me off even with the understanding of my past employment experiences and present experience... left a bad taste in my mouth and no customer should have to feel that way at any establishment. I did them the favor of not wasting the product when I should have just walked away.

Spicy! It was my first time ordering here, and I'm glad she talked me down from a 3 to a 2. Not a long wait for my lunch. Lunch portion is reasonably sized. Had the red curry and a spring roll. Will go back again.

Diner Review №197

I got half the quantity “TO GO” what I would actually get at any other Thai restaurant! It’s not fair to take full amount and give half of what I should actually get; I ordered chicken Panang Curry and I got less than half of it in ToGo pack.

Taste is decent... I liked the taste at sawasdee in Nevada A LOT MORE.

WE PAID 30$ for the food and were still hungry.

QUANTITY SUCKS

Diner Review №198

Never going back... It was my first time going . Simply put, it was too costly, small portions, and they didn't cook it how I asked. Highly disappointed.

Diner Review №199

I had the Red Chicken Curry from their Kroger pop up shop today and it is some of the best Thai food I have ever had! The flavor was wonderful and everything was cooked well. I'm surprised it tasted so great even after the drive home! I will definitely be a frequent customer from now on! Also the ladies selling it we're very nice!!!

If you like it spicy, check out the fire breathing dragon heat levels. I got fire breathing dragon++ and it was great. Got it on the Thai Spicy with chicken. Also like the Singapore noodles and Pad Thai.
