Spring rolls, pad Thai & curry dishes, plus sushi & Chinese favorites served in a low-key setting.
I like Thai food, so it was time to try Tong's Thai in Milford. We ordered crab puffs which came out very quickly and were tasty. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai at a level 2 spice (1-5). Ordinarily I'd go 3, but I wanted to play it safe. I definitely could have gone up to a 3 or 4 as the 2 was not even remotely spicy to me. The Pad Thai had good flavor though, and came out hot. It was a huge portion for sure; I could hardly eat it all! Good value for the money.
We did not have to wait long for anything. Service was pretty good, nothing crazy but we were never neglected. The interior of the restaurant itself was clean, albeit a bit dull. Could have been a bit lighter, especially since it was a cloudy day.
Overall, I give 4 stars. Tong's Thai is a solid casual Thai restaurant. While it isn't exceptional or mind-blowing, the food is solid and a good value, the service is good, and the atmosphere is decent.
The best sushi I have ever had. It is always so fresh and the rice is made perfect. I literally don’t order sushi from anywhere else. My favorite is the spicy California roll or the sweet 17 roll.
Uodate 3/3/22:
This place is always good, and staff is always friendly and nice. One of the places that can keep the employees around Milford area. The food is always tasty and portion is not small.
Update 3/5/20:
Kylie, one of the helpers, was always friendly, very nice. She knows how to make us feel like we were at friends house, having lunch/dinner. I tried Mango Fried Rice with Shrimps this time. It was unbelievably delicious (see picture below).
Good place to get Thai food, family-owned, friendly employees.
My favorite dishes are Thai Fried Rice, yellow chicken curry, and spring rolls. The Thai Ice Coffee is good also.
The food was really good, and if you know you can handle your spice go for a 5. The Silver Noodle is a good go to if you are unsure what to get.
The hot and sour soup was more on the sour side, but still a good flavor. Their raspberry tea is also quite delicious as well.
Abby was awesome while serving us and very attentive.
Tong's was a delicious meal from an unassuming venue in an unlikely location. The bento box is very generous. I asked for a 4 out of 5 on the spicy level and that's what I got. The spring roll was crisp. The sushi was very good. The eel roll was the family favorite but all was solid. The staff was very friendly and the service fast with out being pushy.
This was the best sushi. First time eating there, and this is the best. I love 🍣 sushi and will definitely be back.
staff and food is awesome
The best sushi I have ever had. It is always so fresh and the rice is made perfect. I literally don’t order sushi from anywhere else. My favorite is the spicy California roll or the sweet 17 roll.
It's sushi, enough said
I just ordered a $50 order from this restaurant and had it delivered via Uber. The food was not edible. And I tried to use the get help and got no refund nor could reach anybody to fix this issue. Worst Thai food I’ve ever experienced in my life. The food was overcooked and just gross.
Fantastic food and great service!
Their food is fresh and delicious! Service is great! They decorated for Christmas.
We love this place, and eat here around once a month. I always order the same thing (masaman beef) so I don't know much about the rest of the menu, but my wife is not so predictable, and she liked everything she ordered.
From food to service this place is too notch.
The sushi rice was mushy. Potstickers and spring rolls were bland and overcooked. Took a risk trying a new place but it was unfortunately a waste of money
I am very picky when it comes to any Asian food and I can't handle anything spicy. When I tell you that Tong Thai gets it right EVERY SINGLE TIME I mean every time! The Sweet 17 Roll is a guaranteed delicious and super filling meal all by itself. There are so many great things on the menu. 10/10 would recommend!
Went in for lunch on 7/10/2024 with my mom. We sat in a booth. The food was very good and huge portions.
They rarely get my food correct when I ask for things to not be in my food.
The spicy noodle dish is simply the best Thai dish in the city of Cincinnati. The spring rolls are the best I’ve ever had as well. Nothing else comes close!

Always a good experience here!
I had the crispy pad-Thai and it was good. My friend had the red Thai curry. I think we were pleased. Next time I’ll try the curry with pineapple.
Delicious food fantastic service!
Tong's Thai restaurant exceeded my expectations and delivered a truly remarkable Asian dining experience. As someone who appreciates great Asian cuisine, I was thrilled to discover Tong's and it did not disappoint.
The menu offered a wide range of options, and after much contemplation, I decided to try the Green Curry, Pad Kee Mao, and Thai Basil Fried Rice. Oftentimes there are hits and misses. To my delight, each dish was bursting with flavor. The aromatic spices and carefully crafted combinations truly showcased the expertise of the chefs at Tong's.
While I thoroughly enjoyed the dishes, I must admit that my only minor concern was the quantity of protein in the dishes. However, when compared to other Asian restaurants, Tong's still managed to maintain a commendable standard and even surpassed it in some regards. The flavors were so captivating that I barely noticed the slight discrepancy.
Overall, Tong's Thai restaurant left a lasting impression, and I can't wait to return for more culinary delights. If you're searching for an Asian restaurant that goes above and beyond, Tong's is undoubtedly the place to be. Prepare yourself for an unforgettable gastronomic journey that will leave you craving for more.
Service was exceptional and the food arrived in a timely manner. Food was not only very good but beautiful as well.
All good
Great ginger thai if you like mushrooms - yum!
Spicy Thai (doesn't have to be spicy) with rice or noodles and spring roll. I love the many vegetables. So fresh. I get vegetable, add chicken. More veggies that way. Crab ragoons, so delicate with strawberry sauce. Best sticky rice ever, especially mango sticky rice (seasonal).
My favorite place. The food is awesome. The staff is wonderful. Highly recommend.
Pretty decent. Everything cooked how we asked. I got the teriyaki chicken with fried rice (fried rice was a $3 add on) and my partner got sweet and sour chicken with white rice (sweet and sour sauce on it, not on the side, just an fyi as most places have them seperately) Will try something different next time. The teriyaki sauce wasn't great for me. The crab puffs were so yummy!!! We got 2 orders of those. We ordered at the location for takeout and we did not have to wait very long before it was ready.
Tasty Pad Thai and Spring Roll at a very reasonable price!
Call ahead, if you want sushi for lunch. The sushi chef isn't always available with the current staffing shortage.
New windows in the front have made the dining room much brighter!
Best sushi and thai food in the cincy. Made of all fresh ingredients.
Food needed a but more flavor and I got spice #3 and wasn't even spicy enough.
Our go-to for Thai food. Their menu is extensive and very reasonably priced. The flavor of everything is on point! There are some little updates that need to be done to the inside, but the food more than makes up for it. We love this place!!!!!!
Great food, fast and friendly service at a reasonable price!
Best Thai I have had in a long time. Got the Pad Kee Mao, and it was great. Wife got the fried rice. Also had a sushi roll, that was awesome also. The service was wonderful.
The pad Thai we had with tofu was wonderful, tofu was fried. Coconut soup was fresh creamy with mushrooms tomatoes and onions.
The potstickers 🥟 were light nice dipping sauces. The whole meal was delicious.
The curry dishes and stir fry dishes were amazingly good. The lunch box specials are definitely great deals. The sushi rolls were average. I would recommend skipping the sushi rolls so you have more room for their other amazing items.
I can’t say enough about Tong’s the service was excellent, everyone was very helpful with questions. The food is extremely good everything is fresh and has lots of flavor. The price are very reasonable for what you get.
Great food great hospitality
1st meal from Tong's. Placed an order online through their website. Easy process. Not everything on the menu was available to order online, but most items were. Had the Teriyaki Chicken, which looked just like the picture on their menu, and it was fabulous. The sauce was great. Also had the Thai fried rice, again looked as pictured. I was a bit thrown off by cucumbers in fried rice, but it worked and it too was great. The plum sauce is great too. Highly recommend Tong's for Thai. We haven't eaten at many Thai restaurants, but this is the best we've had, and we will frequent them often. I think we will dine in soon and try the Walleye special.
Every time I eat here I feel welcome, the resturaunts is clean, and I get great service and food. The sushi is always fresh, along with any veggies or meat you'd get in any other dishes. The fried rice is always perfectly seasoned and cooked. I very much recommend this place!
This is our favorite Thai food. Never had a bad experience at tongs. Food is delicious whether you eat it all at one setting or as leftovers.
Friendly staff. Holly is very informative. Great food.
Always the best!! Been going here for years!! I live 40 min away now and still make the trip!! Best spicy noodles ever!!
Very plain food with little to no flavor. Noodles are breaking a apart every time I attempt to pick them up. Had to recook it myself to add more flavoring!
Food was good, servers were friendly. Nice place to hang out.
Food was good, service was good, will come here again
Delicious!!!!!!!!
Food I'd mediocre and kind of burnt.
Very sizable portion sizes of really great food!
Just called trying to order a lunchbox (entree + sushi) and was told that entrees are now only being served at 1 location while sushi is only being serviced at another… no clue why they then offer meals which includes both if they can’t serve both at one place? Really weird way to advertise your food and run your business. Won’t be trying again.
Sorry to hear it is closing for good. One of the best places to get Thai food
One of our standard go-to places to order carryout. Consistently tasty and well-made.
Nov. '21 My son and I went there a while ago and ate in the dining room, which wasn't being used by patrons much. Most just got their carry-out meals and left. We had good service and enjoyable food, although I wouldn't call it authentic Thai food. I recommend the food, though.
Mar. '22 I took both of my kids there for sushi and Asian food to celebrate my daughter getting all As at school. The sushi chef had the day off :(. Service was ok although not stellar. At one point, being unable to get my waitresses attention because she'd walk past one way and then return to the kitchen a different way, I spent a few minutes with my arm sticking up out of our booth to try to get her attention but she didn't see it. There were only a few tables being used, so it was just a lack of awareness.0
Appetizers:
Thai vegetable spring roll: a lightly fried roll that was enjoyable. The waitress indicated that the chef prepares these daily.
Chicken satay: perfectly seasoned and cooked chicken fillets (but no skewers) served with a side of the chef's version of the peanut sauce, which uses not only sugar but also plums and coconut milk (not heart-healthy).
I recommend both.
They were out of raspberry tea, so my kids got the refillable unsweetened tea, which had a very mild flavor.
Main meals:
Bamee wonton soup: This was in a tasty clear broth with cilantro, bean sprouts, lots of noodles, overcooked slices of pork, and some wontons. The wontons had very soft pasta and tasted good. I'd certainly recommend this!
Pho noodle soup: My daughter and I both ordered this at level 5. Level 5 is their highest level of piquancy but is really about a medium. What I didn't realize, given that the food they serve is from a combination of countries (e.g. China, Japan, Thailand), is that their Pho is Thai Pho, which is very different from Vietnam's Pho. It came in a very large bowl but, for whatever reason, my daughter's had a great deal more broth than mine. The base is not a clear broth with basil and cilantro - it is a red-brown soup with fresh basil (that I couldn't taste), to which the chef added lots of noodles, bean sprouts, a handful of fried tofu (which protects it from falling apart but prevents it from soaking up flavor), a handful of red bell pepper and a couple of leaves of basil. Since I had expected it to be like the Pho from Vietnam, I didn't find the flavor to be enjoyable, and I thought this was because of the freshly chopped Thai chilis that had been added, so I requested more Pho broth, thinking again of the Vietnamese Pho, in order to correct the flavor. The chef himself came out with a bowl of the same broth and even offered me clear broth (like in the Bamee wonton soup) if I didn't like it. He had me taste it but I felt bad about wasting it even though I realized that the problem was the broth, not the chili peppers. I guess some people will enjoy this soup, but I was not impressed at all. Adding the "plain" Pho broth made little difference and tasting the Bamee soup made me wish I'd chosen that broth instead. Finally, however, I added the satay sauce, which made the soup enjoyable.
I recommend this restaurant but, if you have heart concerns, avoid the curries and anything else with coconut.
One of our favorites.

Basil shrip fired rice was AWESOME!
Great food clean restaurant. Friendly staff. I had the triple delight it was excellent. My son had the silver noodles he loved them and my wife had the sweet and sour chicken she was pleased. It's not a buffet but you will not leave hungry. I had the level 5 spice and it was spicy but I love spicy food. My son had level 3 and he said he needed more spice but he likes spicy food too.
Very tasty at reasonable prices!
Been coming here for 5+ years. Best Thai food in the Cincinnati area and best Thai food that I've had outside of Thailand. Very fast, delicious and vegetarian friendly. Can't recommend this place highly enough!
Great place to eat with a nice clean environment. The staff was very friendly and service was quick. Would highly recommend if you are in the area.
I am a great fan of Thai food in general, but there is none in greater Cincinnati that I have enjoyed more than Tong's. From the day it opened, it has topped my list of preferred restaurants.
Though there can be minor variability from visit to visit, the entire menu is delicious. Even the pickiest eaters in the family have found a favorite dish. Spicing - both for flavor and for heat - is impeccable. Ingredients are always fresh, and service is always friendly.
I also personally enjoy that there are so many healthy options to choose from.
The biggest issue I have with Tong's is that I cannot get there often enough. If you're in the Milford area, it is definitely worth a try.
Truly a special place I busted Tongs balls about the price on google too update it, just his luck, but Tong stayed fast
Went yesterday to have some sushi as I had been craving it. I got the Volcano Roll and the Sweet 17 rolls. As you can see they def did not disappoint. Everything was delicious. I also got the crab puffs and they were amazing. I was the only customer in there they kept my refills filled and let me watch some TV on my phone even. It was an amazing lunch by myself honestly. Wish more people would start going here as their sushi is always amazing.
Best Thai in Milford! Fast and easy takeout too.
Best I've found in the area, so far
Consistent taste and good service since long.
The areas best pad Thai in my personal opinion
My favorite Thai food in the whole of Cincinnati and suburbs. Consistently great quality and taste for the last 16 years I've been going to Tong's (even when it was Bangkok Thai). Curries are great, Pad Thai is great, and their Lemon Fish is an all time favorite. Best spring rolls in town. And - unbeatable prices for the awesome taste and quality.
We had sushi and dinner. The dinner portions were large enough for leftovers. The food was very good. Service was very good. I would recommend.
Their sushi is amazing!
Tong's is great. We order takeout from here every few weeks, excellent Pad Thai and Thai entrees. So far everything we have tried has been fantastic. Ton's has been around for years, they moved into a new location recently. Only down side is getting in and out of the place especially if you need to go East when traffic is heavy.
Very good food and quiet. Server was very good. So glad they have reopened.
The best thai fried rice I've ever eaten
Best Thai food I've had probably ever. Amazing service and food.
Best Thai food in town!!
Yakisoba spice level 4. Sweet 17 roll. Delicious.
I love Tong's! LOVE IT! Anytime I'm back in Milford I try to stop in.
Food is always hot and the Ginger Chicken is amazing!
Good food, good portions for the price. Ordered Pad See Ew with beef. My usual Thai place is better but theirs is really good too. Also had spicy noodle. My former go to Thai's is better but this was really good too. Both lunch specials came with spring roll. Large portions for less than $8.
Delicious sushi!
AMAZING food!!! TERRIFIC service! AFFORDABLE prices! !! Best sushi in town
Great food and fresh sushi
Abby is great!
Delicious... just delicious! Red curry, mango curry, curry fried rice and pad Thai are our favorites
My wife loves there sushi! I am not a fan a sushi of any kind .
We are a regular there . I have tried other things there but never really liked it much.
Okay
Staff is great. Food is wonderful !
Great food
Work nearby, went several times for lunch. Orders kept coming out wrong, took forever, and they added tip to the main bill, which was not very clear leading to several people double tipping before we realized. Food was mediocre and spice level was inconsistent
First time here, very very good. Ill be back
Awesome food. Great price. Wonderful staff. What more can you ask for?
Good food, great service.
Sadly we just tried to eat at Tong's and arrived 20 minutes before the dining room closes. They would not seat us but asked if we wanted to place a carryout order. We declined and went to another local Thai place
Great value and fabulous customer service!
Consistently delicious! Some of the best Thai (and sushi) in Cincy.
Truly dope place. I don't eat out much but its one place I like to go at least 2-3 times a year. Good service, decent prices and large enough portions.
Great Thai & Chinese! Highly recommend this place. Ate here today for the first time and will be coming back.
Great service. Nice food.
Always great food, but the service is hit or miss! Never terrible service, just slow moving and not the most attentive! But I continue to go and never regret the decision!
I have tried more red curries that I can count, but this is one of, if not the best, I have ever had. I recommend 100%
Spicy noodles are perfection!! Love stopping at Tongs for lunch. 7.25 lunch menu includes a free egg roll or spring roll.
Very good pad thai
Tongs thai is the best sushi around cincinnati ! Highly recommend the paradise roll , sweet 17 , eel and spicy california
The food and service are very Good. Delightful really. We go there for lunch lots, dinner occasionally.
I ordered just basil Thai fried rice. Didn’t like it much. Usually it is very flavorful but I didn’t feel like this fried rice was up to the mark.
Awesome food and service.
This place is my go to Asian cuisine.
My favorite Thai restaurant in Milford
This place is amazing! The service is so quick and the food is beyond good! If you haven't tried it just go for it, you won't regret it.
The best!! The coconut soup, spring rolls, and sweet 17 roll are incredible! This is our favorite sushi place around!
Excellent cashew chicken and great service.
It's ok-ish thai, but not great.
Always great food!
Buenos precio y excelente servicio
Amazing sushi lunches
Best kept secret in the milford area. Fantastic sushi as well!
