Asian Dining At Its Finest
Chi Thai is one of Columbus' premier Asian dining establishments.
Our unique take on traditional Chinese and Thai cuisine has earned us favorable reviews in numerous local publications including The Columbus Dispatch, C Magazine and Columbus Alive.
We offer a captivating menu of HUNAN, MANDARIN, SZECHUAN and THAI dishes. All menu items are prepared fresh daily by our acclaimed chefs using only the highest quality ingredients. Chi Thai offers a full service bar featuring domestic and imported Chinese & Thai beers as well as a wide selection of wines and liquors. Our bar is also equipped with a 50 inch widescreen HDTV so you can catch the game while having lunch or dinner.
This was my first time, but my friend had been here before. This is a beautiful place. When you walk in, you are greeted by the host, and on your right, you'll see a nice bar area. They had booths and tables. The menu has Chine and Thai options. We shared the appetizer, which was the Thai mini rolls that come 6 per order. We also shared an entry, Thai Chicken Cashew, with fried rice on the side. The portions were enough for two people if you don't eat a lot. The food was good and hot. The service was good and pretty fast. The bathrooms were clean. I loved how intimate it felt. Great vibe/atmosphere. It was a Saturday at 4pm. It wasn't too busy, and our food came out quick.
Being gluten free I was so excited to find a Chinese and Thai restaurant that will make most of their menu gluten free upon request. Not only am I able to eat Asian food again, which has always been my favorite, it’s also one of the best tasting Asian restaurants in the central Ohio area. The staff is always friendly and attentive. My favorite dish is Spicy Triple Delight.
Their food is good, they bring good size portions, and the menu has plenty of choices. We like eating here. I like the shrimp with asparagus because it has other vegetables with it and candied walnuts in a white sauce. We often get an egg roll or the crab rangoon as an appetizer. Two dipping sauces are offered.
Crispy sesame chicken: it was very crispy indeed. They do a different style of sesame chicken here, the chicken is in slices rather than chunks.
Crispy rice soup: love the crispy rice, it was a little salty for me
Pan fried noodles: a lot of vegetables and meat, a little too salty for me also
Chicken wraps: surprisingly on the sweet side
Bangkok fish: delicious
It is the best Thai/ Asian food I’ve been able to get my hands on in Columbus.. but it is certainly not the best!
We ordered red curry and pad lad nat noodles. Everything was delicious but very oily. They even had oil added to their white jasmine rice on the side! The red curry was very tasty and perfectly balanced without overdoing any of the herbs, which I really enjoyed. But it Looks like they use some kind of thickener/ powder in their curries, which takes away from the perfect flavor profile. We ordered yellow curry to take with us and asked them to make it with less oil, which they obliged. But reheated, it did not taste good - was very sweet and lacked any flavor.
Service was super friendly. I hope they improve quality on their food and little. I’ll definitely be going back. Remember to ask them to use less oil!
Love it here. Great food and great service
Unprofessional staff but great food.
We received unhygienic cutlery and the staff confronted me and my family when we offered a lower tip.
Highly advice to order take out and not dine here.
Pad Thia was amazing but a little on the mild side for my liking, so I will ask them to spice it up next time. Spring rolls were excellent.
They automatically added 18% tip in your bill based on number of people (we were only four people), and don't give you a choice to decide how much you want to add. It's a highway robbery. On top of that, they give you another bracket for tip to add if you don't look at your bill.
Chicken was tough and grissely.
While I made a reservation for takeout, I had to wait 1.5 hours to get my food. New management so hopefully they will learn how to do it better.

the fried dumplings suck. if they’re going to use frozen dumplings from the store they shouldn’t charge $10. i threw them away they sucked so bad.
Food and service was absolutely amazing. I'm only upset I didn't eat here long before today.
Their food is good, they bring good size portions, and the menu has plenty of choices. We like eating here. I like the shrimp with asparagus because it has other vegetables with it and candied walnuts in a white sauce. We often get an egg roll or the crab rangoon as an appetizer. Best kept secret in Columbus. Many excellent gluten-free choices. Thanks Steve! Elegant surroundings, caring staff and excellent food. I can almost always find a table.
Ordered takeout and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. I left after waiting over 50 minutes.
Everything on the menu is delicious! It may be on the pricy side when you think of "Chinese food" but it's worth the price, they give you a huge portion so it's easily two meals in one.
Also the seafood is pretty damn good, recommend the scallops.
Let me state I don't wrote a lot of reviews, that being said I consider myself a Thai food connoisseur, and hands down this is one of the best places I've ever eaten. I go here three times a week for lunch and I'm always blown away . I hope this message brings more people here!
They are always SO fast, and their pad thai is soooooo good!
Nice clean restaurant, staff amazing, food is great if I had to complain I would just say the food is a tad bit more expensive than I think it’s worth but eh the economy
Nice first visit. Crispy duck was very good - the side of fried rice was mhhhh.
This was my first time, but my friend had been here before. This is a beautiful place. When you walk in, you are greeted by the host, and on your right, you'll see a nice bar area. Atmosphere is nice, staff was friendly. Service was quick as well. I was disappointed in my meal due to the sweetness of the food. If its on the menu as spicy I prefer for it to be actually spicy not sweet.
Very enjoyable dinner and service. Satay is generously portioned and favorable. My wife loves the Basil and Avocado Chicken.
Getting tired..
First time and it is a great experience. Food and staff were outstanding!!!!!!
Finally ordered from here for the first time today! The tom kah gai and pad thai were both delicious, and we were so excited to see that most dishes can be made gluten free. This restaurant will definitely be added to our regular rotation!
I promise you will not be disappointed at all at this restaurant. The food is incredible and the service is amazing. My favorite top five Chinese/ Thai spot
My parents drive all the way from Granville for the Triple Delight. We have also tried the combination plate, Mongolian beef, Tom Yum, drunken noodles, orange chicken and the egg rolls. All are good but try the Triple Delight it's just the right amount of spicy and totally craveable.
Super nice and clean place. The food was very good. I did not like that they ran the vacuum during dinner.
Terrible food and way overpriced
Love this food. Combo meal is so large we use it for 2 meals.
Lady would not even give us utensils or napkins for the togo order. She kept insisting they were in the bag. THEY WERE NOT.
Great taste of Thai food
Good atmosphere
Good service
Have a bar on the side
You can watch sports on TV next to bar
Lot of options in menu to try it out
Spice levels are manageable
Sauce varieties are more
Quality of food is excellent
Prices are decent and reasonable than other restaurants in Easton Mall for example
The food was good, but my husband and I have been looking for a good authentic Thai place in the Columbus area, so we were a bit disappointed. The food was more Asian American. It all tasted good, just not what we went there looking for. I would recommend the basil pork (not too spicy). The hot and sour soup wasn’t so great. Staff and atmosphere were pretty good.
Ordered lunch takeout and food tasted different. The portion was smaller than usual and the price went up. Our family has been coming to this restaurant for the past 5 years and will continue coming back.
My husband and I get takeout here often. I am gluten free and they do a great job accommodating. The portions are perfect, and we usually have leftovers for a couple days. We have loved everything we have tried but the lettuce wraps and fried rice are a couple of my favorites.

food is top notch as well as the service 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Awesome food!
Mala string beans are good
Good food and very reasonable prices, the place is clean and quiet and the staff is friendly.
New managment is consistent with former owners more good news to come
The staff is always super nice and helpful when I’m collecting my orders! Even during peak rush’s they really keep the orders flowing out! One of my favorite places to go to!
Always great food, friendly and helpful staff, and it's always clean. Great spot. Highly recommend.
I ordered on the phone. Went to pick it up in person. The food was ok, the service was terrible.
One of the best and tastiest Chinese restaurants around and clean !!! Only a few with this quality of food and this is 1 of them. Nice owner and servers also
I love the quality/variety of cuisine, the considerate service, the pleasant atmosphere - in short, everything about Chi Thai. My family and I have never been disappointed in an order here. We have come here for dinner and lunch (I love the Ma La string beans with tofu and hot and sour soup), and have gotten take-out as well (drunken noodles or pad thai, and vegetarian spring rolls heat up so well in the air fryer). We have also ordered catering for a large dinner evening at a local VFW, and they were beyond fantastic! They made sure to give us heaping quantities of everything at a great price, and even gave us recommendations on entrees and estimating quantities to order based on their/our prior events. Whether you want a few apps for two when you are on the run, a sit-down family dinner at home, a foodie night out for ten, or a party for your office, Chi Thai will make you so happy!
Great place, you really need to try here.
My recent experience at Chi Thai left me utterly disappointed and disgusted. The red curry I ordered tasted like it was hastily thrown together with undercooked ingredients and an overwhelming amount of masala, completely ruining the dish. As for the starters, they were nothing short of abysmal, consisting of mere sauces with no substance or flavor.
To make matters worse, my wife and I couldn't bring ourselves to finish our meals, let alone consider taking any leftovers home. Despite our dissatisfaction, we were shocked to discover that we were still charged a hefty $60 for this dismal excuse of a dining experience.
Needless to say, I will not be returning to Chi Thai anytime soon or ever, and I strongly advise others to steer clear if they value their taste buds and their wallets. Disappointing doesn't even begin to describe it—this was downright appalling
One star because the Thai tea is nasty and when u go to Thai places the main thing you look forward to is the Thai tea and it definitely taste like dish soap 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
Fantastic service and nice atmosphere. Food is good. A friend got the scallops and they were huge and apparently very good.Would return.
Food was dry and barely edible. Threw most of it in the trash. Waste of money.
Try this and thank me later! Solid dishes with authentic flavors which make me want to go back again and again.
Excelente en todo, y muy deliciosa toda la comida
Best Chinese food in Gahanna and New Albany. :p
Is always a great meal
Foods amazing but every time I come the glasses always seem dirty.
The meal was quite expensive for the portion size offered, and the sauce on the Orange chicken tasted almost like it was burnt
My whole family loves this place been eating there since it opened 14 years ago.
Update years later and still eat there as often as possible!
Very good food. Quick service. Crispy chicken is excellent. Sesame noodles are tasty, but not spicy.
It’s always great!
Great food.
Couple days ago, in my door dash review, I included that I didn't get a spy sauce packet, then seconds later I noticed it was there, just hidden. I felt bad for leaving that in my review and tried to edit (even called) but unable to until I ordered again and leave another review. Feel bad for that so wanted to update my (already 5 star) review on Google. This place is awesome.
Great food and large portions!
I thought it was great, good flavor and friendly staff. Looking forward to going back!
Tried Corn soup for the first time and REALLY liked it. Entree was perfect!
Ribs under cooked and 90%fat. Inedible. Pad thai was terrible. Spring roll were greasy. Won ton soup was good.
Best Chinese in the New Albany OH area, it's a really good food and generous portion. Good service and a nice place.
Was told 1.5 hrs no problem but anothe 20 after that not acceptable
I really enjoy the food here. I like to try the different selections on the menu with the brown sauce.
I had an excellent meal of ma la string beans at the restaurant near Gahanna. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I’d prefer to be able to rate the service as 4.5 instead of just 4; the only issue was that I was never offered a drink refill from the initial pour until my meal was nearly finished. I will certainly be a return customer.
If you’re looking for something a step above Marie Calendars and have $50 burning a hole in your pocket Chi Thai is for you.
Ordered General Tso’s with fried rice and crab Rangoon (which are $10 all on their own, and do not live up to a $10 price tag), the sauce was bland, although it smelled great, breading on the chicken was so thick I had several pieces that were just raw batter. Rangoon was mid, at best.
My husband ordered Beef and Broccoli which had no taste. He said he would have ordered multiple spring rolls instead of his meal. And even that wasn’t great. I’m at Kroger now buying cereal, because our food was not good.
The 4.4 star rating is extremely generous. Maybe they do other dishes really well, but in my opinion if you can’t get General Tso’s right, there isn’t much hope at all. Just wish their service was like Chick Fil A and I could get a refund for the food. Skip Chi Thai and save your $50.
It's nice and clean, waiter was everything you need. Pad Thai was very, very average. If you're wanting Pad Thai and it's not Monday, drive to Bangkok on Refugee Rd. the food there is excellent. Chai Thai is a nice place though, I would try something else, but not Thai.
Service was super friendly. I hope they improve quality on their food and little. I’ll definitely be going back. Remember to ask them to use less oil!
Always great food at a great price
Food was fresh and very tasty! Eva, our server was attentive and very pleasant. Kept our water glasses full! Lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back!
Some of the best General Tso I have ever had. Chicken tender and lightly crisp. Sauce had a nice kick.
Mine of us for dinner. Including three young adults. Everyone raved about food...... Outstanding!!!!
Excellent food, great service.
Great Asian American food. Their thai noodles and Kung Pao tofu are favorites. Service is friendly, portions are generous.
The food was amazing.
Good food in large servings. Attentive service. Ordinary restaurant decor.
Classy restaurant, great service, delicious food! We got Basil chicken and Tom Ka Gai soup. Excellent!
Fabulous food. Great service. Absolutely delicious.
Great service
The hot and sour soup is excellent. Best fresh crispy orange chicken! They are super nice.
General Tso's Chicken presentation great taste horrible doesn't taste like chicken
The pad thai was delicious. The staff was polite and came back frequently to refill water and check on us, and at almost 4 pm, there was no wait. We were too late for the lunch menu, but it'll make good leftovers.
(to the owner--couldn't figure out another way to reply. yes, i did major in Japanese at OSU. do i know you?)
We dined in for lunch during the week, ordering crab rangoon, pad thai, and General Tsos. The appetizer came out very quickly. Our server was meticulous, placing our dishes and arranging them on the table like a fine restaurant. Our entrees were hot and very delicious! Everything was outstanding and I would give the service six stars if I could!
Love the food here, and the portions are huge. My wife and I split an entree and left feeling full.
Delicious food and great service. There are many choices on the menu. Orange chicken and almond chicken were both wonderful. We will definitely go back to try something new.
This place is a really nice and clean restaurant. The food was excellent and got a nice size portion! Definitely recommend you try this restaurant
Very nice restaurant with good ambience
We caught a mouse crawling in the dining area. It crawled under our table. Makes me question their sanitation.
We had the spring rolls, pad Thai and cashew chicken- all was fantastic! Service was phenomenal too. We will definitely be back when we are in Columbus!
Extensive menu . Wife loved her meal . Mine was a bit smaller than expected but tasted okay.
When I want Chinese food I drive over 25 miles just to get some of the best tasting Chinese food in Columbus. Szechuan chicken is my favorite amongst a few others. The customer service experience that I always receive there is absolutely great.
Living in the area, I've been to Chi Thai a number of times. Prior to tonight. I would have rated it 4 stars. However, the crispy orange porkloin is a game changer. This was a dish that brightened my mood and will be a staple moving forward. Excellent.
Excellent food. Great atmosphere
Excellent food!
Simple the Best!
Our favorite Asian place. Owner is very nice and the food is really good.
Great place to dine in… I have not had anything I would not recommend… pic is of spicy noodles with added jalapeños… friendly staff… clean… fast service… there is a lot of traffic going in and out the front door for take out or delivery but I like my food fresh and hot… so take the time and dine in if you get a chance
Meal was excellent. Fast service on takeout.
Chi Thai has great ambiance with friendly staff. The Avocado Green Curry and Bangkok fish were delicious. Will definitely come back.
Great food, fresh and hot. Great location and the owner is extremely friendly and helpful. I stopped going to other Chinese restaurants....
Excellent food and service!
The thai milk tea was good. The curry not so much. The idea of curry is to have plenty of curry liquid to mix with the rice and they give you very little liquid so you end up with plenty of rice that you cannot mix with curry because you run out of it. The pad thai was also lacking. They make it too saucy and way too sweet. Erawan continues leading the thai cuisine in Columbus.
The food was delicious! The service was the fastest I've ever seen. Great crab ragoon
Everything was delicious!! The pepper steak was for real spicy, so beware if spice isn't your thing. The flavor was so good that we were almost willing to suffer the heat though, lol. Definitely will be back!!
Have been going here for years. Steve, the owner, is incredibly vested in his business. Amazing food and drinks. Recommend soup, dumplings, lettuce wraps, pad thai, general tso’s, et al.
Great selection of Chinese and Thai dishes. I love the Thai basil chicken.
It is one of the best restaurants in town. Everything I've eaten from Chi Thai has been great. I highly recommend this restaurant.
好吃
This is probably my favorite place to go for sizzling rice soup!
Very nice food and a great wait staff!!
Like the atmosphere and the food is very good
The food was absolutely amazing, as is to be expected from a place that was so busy! They had multiple orders for take out coming through and the restaurant was full, but they were able to seat us rather quickly and the service was excellent. Our waitress was incredibly kind!
Staff was very friendly and helpful they also assisted me with choosing something I would enjoy.
Excellent everything!!👍🏾
Always good
I have eaten here many times and never had a bad meal once. All of the appetizers that I have tried we're all very good as well as the soups. My favorite has to be the hot and sour soup followed by the wonton soup. There Thai menu is quite nice and there is a noodle dish with chicken that I particularly enjoy but I can't think of the name offhand. Any of the Chinese entrees are usually fabulous band really don't need any extra condiments such as soy sauce. An all-around great place to eat.
