Best Thai food I have ever had. They’re a small husband and wife owned restaurant that produces amazing food. I cannot recommend this place enough. My only complaint is that I now live 1.5 hours away so I can’t enjoy it everyday like I would want.

An absolute gem of a place

I didn't know what to expect when I pulled up. Not a flashy restaurant at all however I found out quickly that you can't judge a book by its cover. My daughter and I had the pad Thai and added chicken. I was surprised by the quality and flavor . Portions are definitely big enough to where you shouldn't leave hungry. Spice level five definitely has a nice kick. Definitely the cheapest Thai food I found in the Fargo area and the quality does not suffer at all. It was very delicious and I would say better than most other Thai restaurants in town if not the best especially the value for the money . Looking forward to going back and sampling some of their other food! The staff was very friendly.

This is a lovely casual spot for some good Thai food. I've tried the pork belly and the pad Thai, both of which are delicious. You can order yours as spicy (or not) as you prefer, and still enjoy full, delicious flavor.

Food is great, have some food allergies and they knew exactly what was in everything and had vegan options. Felt 100% confident that they would make it as ordered. Very clean resturant, kitchen and bathroom. They must take pride in what they do as this place was great. This will be one of our new go to resturants in Fargo.

Apparently not a lot of their customers leave reviews, either that or they have a LOT of return customers who have already left reviews. I guess it really doesn’t matter. They have been in business for several years. You can clearly see the kitchen from the front counter and they keep it clean just like the seating area and restroom. I have nothing negative to say. I only hope they remain successful and stick around so I can enjoy their food again.

Been coming here for a while and had no idea I hadn't written a review. This is my favorite restaurant in Fargo, the staff is always absolutely wonderful, the food is excellent, and I mean excellent. I already love Thai food, but Thai Kota gives such an amazing take on so many dishes, and they are always cooked to perfection! I cannot recommend this place enough. If I had to eat at one place the rest of my life, this would be it!

We stopped here based on the reviews while in Fargo and, sadly, we were disappointed. We love Thai food & our meals just missed the mark. Maybe the Chef had an off day.

Great Wall colors, funky music. Very nicely hand written menu, tv made us very hungry. Saw an old friend, and someone who looked like an old friend. Had the delight of serving ourself our own water (in reusable plastic cups that were from target and made us feel right at home), and got to grab our own utensils! Recommend the Gau Gee, very yummy. Very friendly wait staff, we stayed past closing and they were still so hospitable and fun! Foo very very yummy.

Had the chicken Thai fried rice for lunch, it was excellent! Very generous portion, a blend of excellent flavors, might just be my favorite in the FM area! This was my first time here but I will definitely be back-thank you!

I have not had a bad meal from ThaiKota. It hits every time. They have the best fried rice in Fargo. My girlfriend gets the pad Thai and she also loves it. The portions are great. The staff is friendly. It’s always a bonus when they have cakes in the cooler also. I can’t recommend them enough for a bite when downtown.

Perfect Thai street food. We enjoyed the Fried Rice and Pad Thai. Both exhibited wonderful complexities. Every bite was slightly different in texture, herbs, mouth feel, and flavor.

Tried this out for the first time tonight and we all LOVED it, such great food with amazing flavors and SO fresh! We thought it was neat that the owners are husband and wife running the whole show and making your meal. We even got to go orders to have for the next day, it's THAT good! Don't judge it by the outside, just go in and try their food!

ThaiKota has ruined my life. After many years of thinking that the best Thai restaurant in the upper midwest was only a few miles from my house in the Minneapolis area, ThaiKota has set a new standard for what excellent Thai should taste like. Now I'll have to settle for adequate Thai unless I'm in Fargo. Fortunately, I'm here on business often and will undoubtedly return for a repeat life-ruining experience.

I can't believe the audacity of the people who left one or two star reviews:

"...you need to go get your Owen water and small cheap plastic utensils." Jabronis like you, who eat Thai with anything other than chopsticks and are too oblivious to the fact that this is a take-out restaurant that offers pleasant spaces to dine on-site, should have their internet access taken away.

"Closed on Sunday!? Why? So random and it's such a popular day to eat out." How audacious of a small family owned business to take a day off on the weekend, likely to spend quality time together outside of work. Your "Local Guide" status should be revoked.

"You could find better tasting places that don't cause stomach aches." I realize we are in North Dakota, however if you can't handle food that actually has flavor, maybe you should stick to your 5 star reviews of McDonalds.

I really liked the curry. It fed my soul and more. But I really don't know what to do with the chicken drummies with the skin on it. It was difficult to get the skin off and irritating to pick the meat off the bone. The chicken drummy is hot too, so it couldn't be held. The preparation of the food was a little too down to earth for me.

When the register has a Fargo Street Hawks sticker you know you are in for a good time. Food was great, people were good people, the patio area was shady and perfect for a summer day. If you time it you can go hit up BDS book store and have a great day. The drunken mama was Nordakota hot. So spicy but not, you feel the burn twice hot.

Not what I was expecting after reading all the glowing reviews. It was good food but not great food. The starter, Gau Gee was really good but the main, pork Pad Thai, was average or less. Too sweet, the noodles looked and tasted like spaghetti pasta, and the pork was chewy. Didn’t like the plastic spoons or the do it yourself drinks, etc. Not a bad place to grab a quick lunch if you are hungry for Asian but nothing get excited about.

Very authentic Thai cuisine, especially northern Thai options. My favorites are their papaya salad and northern Thai noodle curry called Khao Soi. The owners are very kind and friendly. So happy to have this brand new Thai place in Fargo.

Always happy to see you, they recognize repeat clients and it’s a chill environment. They started delivering to the cider house down the block and we’ve never had a bad experience. Best spring rolls in town, hands down.

Thaikota is one of my favorite local restaurants. If you like some spice, the Drunken MaMa is not to be missed. The Fresh Spring Rolls are yummy and fresh. Their food is consistently delicious.

Had lunch/dinner here because I was extremely surprised by the reviews. It was my first time trying this restaurant as I am not originally from Fargo. When we got there the lady was incredibly helpful and gave us some great options to try. Costumer service was for sure great. When it came to the food I will say I came with my hopes a little high. For the appetizer we got the fried dumplings which were fine nothing out of this world. The pad Thai, well it was somewhat disappointing, in my opinion it was extremely sweet, which the lime and chili helped but overall not my favorite, although I do see why people would enjoy it. And lastly we got the pork with herbs which was my favorite thing that we ordered. Spicy, aromatic, savory, and incredibly fresh, paired with perfectly cooked white rice it was something I do suggest you to get. I really want to try more of the menu as I believe we missed out on that papaya salad, or the curry which everyone was getting. I truly hope I can visit Fargo again soon to experience more Thai flavors!

All dishes have excellent flavor, especially the Khao Soi. The essence of coconut milk along with the noodles creates a nice, vibrant dish. I also really enjoy the texture of the crispy pork belly.

The sheer variety of flavors, textures, and dimensions of gustatory experience always surprise me here no matter how many times I go. The subtleties of the Pad Thai or the robustness of the chili and sausage, and all the Thai pickling elements create a fantastically engaging meal. The outdoors patio has much more room than inside, so I enjoy eating there during the summer. The service is always above par in friendliness and excellence.

Tip: remember to ask for the sauces to add to your rice for an extra bit of spice and flavor.

After a poor experience at Porter hardwood grill, it was such a pleasure to find this simple restaurant with excellent menu options, knowledgeable staff and quick service. The soi curry was excellent, a rich peanut and yellow curry flavor contrasted by the pickled vegetables and crispy noodles. Highly recommended. Eat here and then head to fargo brewing for drinks!

Absolutely incredible food, made from scratch. Everything is tasty and they have awesome vegetarian options with some of the most delicious tofu ever! 😍 Do NOT let the fact that they are in the back of a gas station fool you. This place is incredible and you won't be sorry for trying it.

I definitely found it easier to review the menu online and decide what I wanted. The seating area is very small, but I always order to go. You can order online! They also have a water station if you dine in. Chopsticks are available. And your food comes in a handy little container to bring your leftovers home because the portions are HUGE.

A nice cozy place with both indoor and outdoor seating area. I loved the food and ambiance here. We tasted Thai fried rice and Khao soi curry, both the dishes were delicious and we absolutely loved the food. Khao soi curry is the best I have tasted at this restaurant. I like their idea of using recyclable paper boxes and containers for serving the food. On the whole I would give a 5 star for the food and the ambiance.
