We have sweet and sour Chicken for lunch,
Crunchy duck stirred fried with veggies,
Pad Se Eu with beef.
We ate this place often when we lived around WS 5 years ago.
We loved it!
And now we visit again and taste still the same from last 5 years ago.
Itβs amazing!
I tried to eat it all but my eyes are bigger than my stomach.
You guys did a great job!!!
This little Thai restaurant was simply amazing. They easily set up a table for six adults and four toddlers. The service was fantastic and they were very kind and helpful with our tiny crew. We were pleasantly surprised at the very reasonable check. If you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere and delicious Thai food, this is your place!
First of all, I am Thai, my review as Thai person, I have Thai food in several restaurants in Winston Salem in the past year I love Thai Sawatdee until recently they change chef and it totally change I canβt go back there on Healy Dr so I come back to Chada Thai which I normally come times to times and the menu I like it here Larb with sticky rice but this week I ordered Pad Zee Ew which the best choice, It so yummy They use fresh large noodles and the way they cooked it like I have it in Bangkok 10/10 π
First time trying this place. Nice decor and the host and waitress were nice and efficient and helpful. Service was fantastic and the food was great, hot and abundant. I took enough home for two more meals. I will definitely return here.... I got the Sizzling Duck and it came with salad, broth and rice. The duck was tender and plentiful as were the carrots, snow peas and other veggies.
Although the dish we ordered was labeled as spicy, I couldn't really find any spice in the dish. It's strange because with Thai food it can often be some of the spiciest food you get, but that's certainly not true here. The spring rolls were fresh and we like the combination appetizer that had a mixture. The only strange part about service was when we walked in. Nobody would make eye contact and we stood there for a little while even though the restaurant had plenty of empty tables. Eventually. We were seated, of course. If you do go then certainly ask for it spicy or potentially extra spicy I have to

The food as great as always
Never disappoints with food or service. Long standing favorite Thai food. The Pad Thai is perfection. Jasmine tea is delightful. The people are warm and inviting. Highly recommend.
We had lunch here the other week. The food was good. We had great service, and the place has a nice intimate atmosphere.
The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the cost is reasonable. This is a go-to place for me.
Best Thai restaurant in Winston-Salem by far. Always excellent.

Usually quiet when I go. I enjoyed all their dishes that I've tried, but I'm in love with their basil catfish. It's the best in town! Their red curries in general are especially extra good!

Amazing!
Meh. It's hard for me because I'm originally from California where great Thai food is everywhere. I had the Pla Samm (breaded grouper in sauce). The sauce was good but the fish tasted straight up like Gordon's Frozen fish. My husband had Favorite Seafood which is a seafood curry with veggies. The curry was good but there was very little seafood. We also felt rushed. Before we even had a chance to open our menus the server we asking us to order. Then while we were clearly in the middle of eating she comes over asking us if we need boxes. There are definitely a couple of other Thai places that we prefer so we won't be back.
Excellent
I grade hard. Most places are average (3) because my expectation is I get a clean eatery with reasonable service and the food that is ordered.
This place is in the 3 out of 20 that deserve a 5.
The place is rather inviting on the inside. You know your in a Thai restraunt.
Pas Kee Maw was well above average. It had a great feeling in the mouth. The noodles had a great texture. Just soft enough to slide down with ease. Not only the basic onion, carrots, and broccoli, there was snow peas. The nappa was cooked to perfection in the fact it was soft but still had a crunch to it. All in all delightful.
Good food and friendly staff

One of my favorite spots to eat for lunch! not only do they have good Thai dishes, but The customer service is on point ! I left my Invisalignβs there and the manager went through the trash to get them for me without any fuss ! Talk about excellent customer service! π Also a great spot for those who want to dine by themselves and looking for a break from work That eliminates the noise. the Atmosphere is wonderful!
I normally love the food here. Tried 15 min. to call in my order, finally went to restaurant placed my order. Waited over 25 min. Defeats the purpose of call ahead to avoid the wait. During my wait no calls came through, was the phone off the hook??? However, the staff was great and my food was good. Cha da thai gotta do better with call in orders, very disappointed that I was able to call in my order.
I had an amazing experience. The service was great! And the food was sooo flavorful. I canβt wait to come back again.
Really good food.
This is my favorite restaurant in Winston-Salem. The food here is great but so is the Atmostphere. A great place all around. I could not recommend this place enough. Staff is thoughtful and on point. Ask for Tommy. The music is serene and soft. The food is hot and fresh. I recommend the Cha Da Thai Rice. Absolutely incredible. Eat here.
This place is authentic as it can get in America
The best Fresh Rolls in town !!
Food is delicious and very affordable!! Tommy is a great manager and keeps a very clean fish tank(s)!!
The orange duck was wonderful π
This place never fails to remind me of the good times and good food my mother gave. I love it. Thank you Cha Da Thai for keeping those memories and a simpler time in life alive for me.
Their food was really really good. And the staff is always friendly and helpful when trying to decide on something to eat. The atmosphere is always clean. It is as close to authentic as youβre going to get in the area.
Waited an hour for our food that never came, we ordered as soon as the waitress came to the table, did not get checked on or an update. Went up to cancel our order only to be told sorry they had a lot of to go orders that took priority.
Best Thai food Iβve ever had on the continents of North America and Europe. I live in Sweden but when I visit family in NC, I always visit this place.
Finally found the perfect Thai spot!! The flavors were amazing and exactly how I like it! Go easy on the spice levels! I jumped out there and went with very hot and it was indeed that! But not to where I could still enjoy my dish. The atmosphere was laid back and the service was great! I ordered the Cha Da Thai fried rice! DELICIOUS!
Best Pad Thai in NC. And spicy profile matches the rating perfectly.
Great food. Great service. Reasonable prices.
Delicious food. Love the Salmon (#40). Friendly, efficient service. Nice atmosphere.
My husband and i love this place. The food is fantastic and so is the jasmine tea. The staff is top notch too!
Food was better than the service by far. A bit surprising to find in a strip mall in Winston-Salem, but then again maybe not. Menu is diverse, the rice paper rolls were fat and delicious, the whole fried fish was a little overdone but tasty. Maybe 3-5 fewer minutes. Put it on your list to visit if you're in Winston.
Friendly staff, big food portions, and nice atmosphere. They are tucked away in the corner of the shopping center, but certainly worth finding and enjoying a nice lunch.
Best Thai restaurant around

Great spot
Food quantity and taste is good . We are vegetarian ordered soup , red curry and fried rice .
Restaurant very clean, cozy β¦The waitress was excellent!!!! extremely , patient kind explaining food items that we wasnβt sure aboutβ¦food was just okβ¦ Not the best Thai food in Winston I have had much better
Amazing food - try the fish of the day! Every dish that's fried ends up being crispy and delicious throughout the meal, and their curry is to die for!
This place is Awesome! Authentic Cuisine with a friendly atmosphere. Sit back relax and enjoy your meal with friends and family.
Service was friendly, but slow after delivering our food, which was disappointing. The food, however, was excellent, and the portions were plentiful! Harmony Thai is our go-to, but Cha Da Thai is a solid alternative, and we will definitely return. Overall, great dining experience!
Great vegetarian spring rolls, crisp cold salad with peanut sauce, red curry, orange crispy chicken, etc., All very good
Really good Thai food. Our favorite is curry with seafood or fish balls. Very pretty decor inside. Locally owned. Never disappointed. Good service. They also have wine/beer. Very good food!
I have enjoyed many fine meals here. If you are seeking a lunch or dinner that is delicious and different than the average fare. Cha Da Thai offers great food in a relaxed environment served by a friendly staff.
Food was ok and the staff was great. I might come back to try something else and see if other dishes are better.
Their peanut dressing is amazing! And they chill the salad plates for a crisp experience! The decor and environment is welcoming and comfortable. The food choices cater to all spice preferences and they can customize dishes if needed. Great lunch specials too!
MUST TRY THAI RESTAURANT
Cha Da Thai is the BEST Thai restaurant we have in Winston-Salem. Iβve searched for good Thai food over the past several years and tried several well-known Thai restaurants in the area - Charm Thai, Basil Leaf Thai, Thai Sawatdee, and Thai Harmony to name a few. Also, as an Asian-American, I feel like my opinions arenβt completely baseless either. You WONβT find a Thai restaurant that has a deeper flavor profile or higher spice level than Cha Da Thai. Their Thai Hot spice level will have you desperately reaching for a glass of milk while dripping in sweat, or tears. Honestly, their spice levels do not mess around. If youβre unable to tolerate spicy food, definitely stay away from adding any spice to their dishes.
WHAT WE ORDERED:
Pad See Ew (10/10) - This is one of the best Thai dishes youβll have here. Their sweet and sour, tart yet tangy sauce is guaranteed to make you clear your entire plate in minutes. Not sure why pad thai is so famous when its cousin is MUCH TASTIER!
Pad Thai (8/10) - Your standard pad thai but immersed in a ton of flavors that bring forth the true Thai nature of the dish.
Cha Da Thai Fried Rice (7/10) - Tons of flavor but the fish sauce was a bit too overwhelming for me. Otherwise, a fantastic fried rice dish! You wonβt find their kind of flavor anywhere else.
Tom Kha - I wasnβt able to try this soup, but according to my friend who LIVED IN THAILAND, he said it was the best Thai food heβs had in Winston-Salem. Take it for what itβs worth.
Pad Prik Daeng (9/10) - Itβs stir-fried red curry paste with meat and veggies, you canβt go wrong with this!
I highly recommend trying their Pad See Ew! Itβs sweeter than Pad Thai and the noodles are thicker as well, so it just feels richer overall. Youβll thank me later!

Authentic Thai cuisine. Was really good.
This place is a hidden Gem! One of my faves! The panang curry is a must with your choice of meat. Not too spicy either, but you can make it that way if you want. I love the salmon, but I usually go with chicken. This is my favorite Thai food around.
And I oop
Wonderful Thai food and quick service. Their curry is awesome!
The best dishes, I always love returning for a good meal with my friends.
First time there and the food was excellent! I tried the Angel Wings for the appetizer and had the grilled salmon for the entree. Will definitely be back!
Nice quiet place with great food and nice staff.
They were out of wide noodles! And the substitute just wasn't the same. Easy on off the highway for a quick bite
Easily the bets quality Thai food in town. I highly recommend the MeKroob and the Tom Yum soup
Everything is good here.
Best Thai in Winston
One of Winston-Salem's top Thai spots that also just so happens to have excellent, fair prices. A quiet spot tucked away in a strip mall, this is a hidden gem. Their curries are excellent, along with most all dishes. Their red curry is my absolute favorite. Service is always courteous, very friendly, and quick. Probably one of the most prompt restaurants in the area. This place is fantastic and if you like Thai, you must eat here.
Love the atmosphere when dining in and the food is always full of flavor and delicious! We have gotten takeout many times and had a great experience.
This place is the best has the best pho I have ever tried and Iβve been literally everywhere! If you love spicy food and want to eat REAL spice with your pho this is the BEST place, they are always so kind and friendly, the guy is always so patient and helpful when explaining menu itemβs. 100% recommend you wonβt regret!!
Delicious.
Delicious food and great service in a lovely atmosphere. 100% deserving of its high ratings!!
Best Pad Kee Mao I have ever had. So much flavor.
Food was great. Very nice staff.
O restaurante tem alguns detalhes em madeira entalhada muito interessantes.
A apresentação da comida é muito boa e o adoramos o sabor. Foi um belo achado. Seguimos a orientação do garçom. Dividi um pato que tinha a pele crocante em um molho deliciosos e experimentamos alguns dumplings. Voltaremos!
Exciting dining experience with the whole family. Super fresh and friendly.
The flavors were out of this world. I think this place sets a high bar for other Thai spots in the area.
The food is something really special here. Service is always great, they seem so quiet and kind. Beautiful and intricate traditional decor lift up an otherwise outdated space. We have had consistently good experiences here and enjoy it every time. Very reasonably priced and good portion sizes.
The steam dumplings were amazing! The staff was wonderful and all the food was good.
We were passing through the area this week and wanted Thai food for lunch. Service was very quick and we were surprised to get the option of either soup or salad and a complimentary spring roll with our meal. Lunch portions were more than enough and my young daughter and I shared a plate. Atmosphere was cute, good decor. Will definitely visit again when in the area!
Service and food is impeccable! I especially love the bubble tea!
Food is great.
Employees very friendly.
Very good Thai food. Best I've had in WS so far.
I had the house salad with peanut dressing, the sweet and sour Thai chicken dish, and Mango sticky rice. The meal was delicious. The service was great. I love getting a clean napkin and clean cutlery with each course. The atmosphere is calming and conducive to visiting with friends.
Loved it, awesome food and nice calm atmosphere
We order from here regularly and definitely like their food. I will say that some dishes are great while others I prefer at other Thai restaurants in the area. Overall it is always quick to get takeout here and the consistency is there. We will continue eating here regularly.
Great curries, gluten free menu, great for a casual dinner date
Great service and very good Thai food. It was a real treat!
One of the oldest, and best Thai restaurants in town. They do a better job with tofu than most others. Service is always quick and friendly. I nice atmosphere.
Favorite Thai restaurant. Hands down. The coconut milk soup is to die.
We left our former, foodie rich, city and came to a place that we were advised to return to our former city 30-45 min away for good Thai/Vietnamese. These folks are the real deal!!! Awesome food at great prices. Our previous favorite place had an 80% Vietnamese clientele. This is mostly for βthose in the knowβ around here. The Pho is incredibly flavorful and rich. My wife has not been disappointed with her multiple dishes. On the advice of our server, the Crispy Duck is next up. I am sure it will not disappoint!
Beautiful interior decor. Super slow service from the waitress and food prep. The appetizer was late and had a very small portion, as well as mostly vegetables and very little meat in our entrees. I had to go find our waitress who was playing with her cellphone behind the cash register to ask for our check. Several local asian restaurants offer larger portions and better service for your time and money. We won't be back.
Completely authentic with so many unique options we canβt find anywhere else!
Best Thai restaurant in Winston Salem. Best Thai food I have ever had overall in my life. The chu Chee curry is a personal favorite, but if you like cellophane noodles pad woonsen is also really good.
First time visiting with family everyone ordered a different dish and we shared. We all enjoyed everything, the dishes were tasty and quite filling! The service was good, fast and friendly, they were not busy at the time we arrived but started to get busy shortly after. We were all very satisfied and will return.
Cha da Thai is a great place to get quick and delicious food. You will be served about 5 min after you place your order. It is clean and inviting on the inside and features an array of beautiful traditional thai ornaments that create a comfortable dining expirence. I personally consider Cha da Thai to be my top choice for lunch when I'm working on that side of town. BONUS: you get a complimentary salad AND egg roll that comes with a delicious sweet and sour sauce.
Had takeout. Service was fast, good, and friendly. Food was okay. Not as flavorful as I had expected. Wonβt write Cha Da Thai off yet. Will give it a second chance, but not for a while.
Our family tried it for the first time last night and we were very disappointed by everything. We tried the pad gra prow, pad see ew, pad ban prik paow, angel wings, and fried calamari. All the main dishes had very little flavor. To me, the best part of all of it was the sauce that came with the fried calamari. We threw out what was left. We were so excited to try this place out from friend recommendations and reviews online but obviously wasnβt impressed. π€·π»ββοΈ
Solid and authentic. May have slight staffing issues right now. I've eaten here 50+ times. The noodles were soft last time and things don't seem 100% sharp
Went there last night absolutely π highly recommend. Food was fresh staff was friendly restaurant clean. Price was right!π
What can I say about this place yesterday was my very first visit to Chad Da Thai! It really is a great overall experience, inside the restaurant it is very clean and neat. The entire restaurant setup is decorated beautifully!! And the service is superb. When it comes to the food it is very delicious and they provide you with a great portion of food! Also if you're a person that likes to have appetizers I would HIGHLY recommend getting the cheese rolls with their sweet and sour sauce. This is some of the best Thai that I've in the area I will definitely be coming back soon!! I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!
Best that food in the area. Phad Thai is awesome
Highly recommended! Super friendly staff, delicious food, allergen friendly, clean bathrooms. Had the Tom Ka Hot Pot, Pad Thai, Beef Larb. All amazing.
The service is amazing and the food is so good!! Such a good family restaurant.
Authentic Thai food with authentic spice level. Awesome bubba tea
The Cha Da Thai Experience (Dine-in Edition). I have passed Cha Da Thai plenty of times in my travels and wanted to try them. Of course, when you have your favorite place to dine, you tend to stick with what you know. However, I was impressed with my dining experience. Upon entering, there was a slight wait to be seated as the server played dual roles as the host and waitress.
Once sitting down, I reviewed the menu. I knew what I wanted; the Chicken Pad Nam-Prik-Paow seasoned with Thai sweet chili paste sauce, broccoli, Napa cabbage, snow peas, carrots, bell peppers, and basil leaves. The meal came with a choice of soup or salad and a spring roll. I selected the salad that came with peanut sauce. While waiting for my food, I ventured to the restroom to wash my hands. The bathroom did appear clean at the time of my visit.
Once back at my table, the waitress brought my salad and spring roll. Again, everything was good, although the peanut dressing is slightly too heavy for my taste but still good. The food came to the table hot and fresh. I truly enjoyed my dining experience. The waitress was able to keep up with everyone's needs being the only server, which was commendable. I did not need or was waiting for anything. I will be back to dine here again.
I'll be coming back again! The person running the register at the front was friendly and I'm happy I stopped in. The restaurant has a very homey feel to it.
Best Thai food in Winston-Salem!!!!
Guy at the front was rude and said I was making his day worse for asking questions? Clearly that means you can't do your job. What does that have to do with me? Would not recommend. Food was disgusting and took forever. Inauthentic. Would give a zero if I could. Try Charm Thai instead
I just moved to Winston from Boone and I was SHOCKED (in the best way!) to see a Cha Da Thai. For context, there was one in Boone that shut down in 2019 and it was my favorite restaurant. For my first time back in 2 years I ordered the chicken satay, the som tam Thai style w/ medium spice, and a batch of Thai sticky rice (plain, not the mango dessert variety). The satay was a little on the dry side, but had excellent sweet peanut sauce and pickled veggies to pair. The som tam was SO good; it was very fresh and flavorful, full of delicious ingredients and textures. Definitely is big enough for two people. Medium spice is pretty spicy for anyone not used to chili peppers. If you've never had sticky rice before, get it.
I will be coming back to Cha Da Thai often!
Really good Thai food no curry puffs.
Update: the Golden triangle with cucumber sauce is a close second to a curry puff. Added benefit, my vegetarian kid loves them.
This place is a hidden gem. It's a little hard to spot but it is amazing authentic food. Highly recommend if your in the area!
Outstanding salmon and vegetables in curry sauce. Maybe the best Thai Iβve had anywhere.
I love Thai food. My favorite place for Thai is Prime Thai in Elkin nc but itβs really far from where I live in Lewisville. Iβve tried several others in Winston and clemmons but never found anything that matched up in terms of quality until now. This place is wonderful. The pad see ew and pho is delicious and they are very reasonably priced. I will be going back again very soon.
As an appetizer, I had Shredded green Thai papaya Salad; With carrot, green beans, tomato, peanuts and chili lime dressing
And as my main course, I had a stir fried Shrimp with red curry paste with bamboo shoots, onion , carrots, snow peas, bell peppers, green peas and basil leaves.
It was a little pricey but then it was gourmet Thai, with a nice atmosphere and attentive service. I really enjoyed it.
Great food, great service
Best Thai food I've ever had
This Thai restaurant really makes me feel like I am in New York with it being very authentic and tasteful! I will be a frequent and loyal customer!
Fresh food all the time
Outstanding!
Amazing!!! Food and service!!!
Great atmosphere.. Ok Thai food
Having lived in Thailand for three years and enjoy some good Thai food ... I can say that this Thai restaurant is one of the best in the area ! My favorite is the Red Curry with Chicken, (#50) no bamboo shoots and add mushrooms ! Wow .... I like the way they code their dishes with little hot peppers - none for no heat, one pepper for a little and then two or three peppers for even hotter !) Also the fried dumplings and cheese rolls are fab too !!
Always exceptional!
