Do not believe the positive reviews! We were fooled! This was the worst “Thai” food I’ve ever had. I can’t even insult Thailand by calling that Thai food. It was saturated in sauce, no vegetables at all in the pad Thai, no flavor, garlic chicken was floating in sauce and looked like nothing I would even feed my dogs. Spring roll tasteless and foul. The salad dressing smelled horrible I should have known from that moment to leave and not eat anything from there. Wonton soup was sour and the meat did not look cooked. The rice was not fried let alone done cooked it was wet and soggy and the pineapples were not fresh it was definitely from a can and sour. Please do not eat here and waste your money until they get a suitable chef that can actually prepare Thai food. We have never left so much food on a table untouched. I’ve never been so sad and disappointed after eating Thai food. Please get a new chef they do not value what they present to their patrons. Only positive is the cleanliness.

I did bring it to the waitress’ attention that the food was not good and I did not want a to go box for any of the food and she said nothing in response. She did not ask what was wrong ever during the duration of the meal or after the meal. And note the sign on the wall that I took a pic of regarding the refund/complaint policy so I already knew you would not address my issues and it was clearly seen that they were not taken seriously. Thanks

The flavor was decent, but I was surprised that there was an upcharge of $1 for Thai hot and 50¢ for ¼ tsp pepper oil.

Thai chili is a phenomenal option for lunch. Its a restaurant with good sanitization and excellent service delivering amazing meals and is totally worth trying out new dishes from different cultures that i greatly appreciate is nearby.

If you think you're getting authentic Thai food, you are in for a big surprise...not in a good way. Their food is American Chinese pretending to be Thai. Everything is sweet. Oh, don't even bother saying or asking for any items that an authentic Thai restaurant would have like "prik nam pla" because they do not know what it is. Their pad kapraow is just bland ground meat stir fry with strips of bamboo shoots (none of the garlicky sauce) that pad kapraow are known for. It's a shame and a waste of money. If I wanted Chinese food I would have gone to a Chinese restaurant. Please do everyone a favor and do not label yourself as authentic Thai, when you're clearly not.
Thai food that are cooked by authentic Thai chefs are well balanced between sweet, savory and sour. Every single dish my family and I got from your kitchen tonight were no other flavors aside from sweet. I had asked to speak to the chefs, and what a let down that was, no one came out to speak to me, instead the waitress just told me that is how the "pad kapraow" are made and it's not a mistake. This is a total insult to one of the most popular dish known in Thailand. Even my 13 year old son knows this is not Thai food.
Another reviewer had taken a picture of your exchange/refund policies. What a scam, if I had saw this piece of paper, I would have never step foot and wasted $66 at your establishment. Irresponsible. How dare you expect everyone to love your food, and if customers are not satisfied (unless we cook the food ourselves) we are not allowed a refund of any sorts. Oh, and I forgot to mention that not once did anyone asked us if everything was alright during our dine in. I'm sure they can clearly see it in my face that I am at the very least unsatisfied borderline upset. I should not even given them any tips.

The food is amazing!!! Service is fantastic. I'm extremely picky with Thai food, I have gone to a lot of Thai restaurants and no one can make Thai taste like I had from Thailand. However, this place WOW ... knocked it out of the park. Have ordered multiple times here and always very satisfied. Thank you for the amazing food and service.

I’m a takeout kind of gal. Thai chili is one of the few places I rely on. The Tofu dishes are amazing!! The staff is kind and considerate. I am forever a loyal customer.

Great spot for some good Thai food

I was exploring the area and wanted a vegan option for dinner. I came across Thai Chili through Yelp, and decided to check it out. They have a great selection for vegetarians and vegans. I got Vegetarian Pad See Ew with tofu, which did not disappoint. It was hearty and delicious. I got the Yellow Curry with tofu to-go which was absolutely amazing! Definitely authentic.

We love coming to this restaurant in Lumberton! The bathrooms are always clean, and the sitting tables and dining room is as well.
Try the Thai tea if you've never had it. And the sticky rice dessert is a fantastic treat.

The food was really good BUT the service was the absolute worst service I have ever had and I travel for work all over the US. We asked for unsweet tea....waitress brought sweet tea...when she changed it to unsweet....she literally threw the cup in the dirty dish container. She dropped our food off and we werent sure whos food was whos and I asked her about my dish and she walked across the restaurant to another customers table while she was saying some rude comments. Her tip from all 3 of us....dont be rude to customers....all 3 of us tip really well when treated descent.

Haven’t been able to find a nice Thai restaurant since I’ve moved but this place and the quality of food they serve is pretty good and seems to always be fresh :)
The Thai tea is my favorite .

Dining at a Thai restaurant while traveling can be hit or miss. This little restaurant is definitely a hit! While the interior is basic - tables and chairs, not a whole lot of decoration except for a few beautiful wall hangings - the food is as tasty as any Thai we've ever had. The owner and chief chef makes EVERYTHING by hand and you can tell it. The fried cheese wontons have the lightest, crispy shell. Very thin so you can enjoy the flavor of the filling. Chicken Satay was awesome. I had the chicken massaman, my husband had the pad Thai. We both agreed we'd order the same thing again! The husband of the owner was very kind and informative. If you find yourself going thru Lumberton you owe yourself a stop at Thai Chili. The flavors were spot on, the service quick and friendly, and the to-go orders were flying out the door. (The phone never stopped ringing) Our food came quickly and was perfect! Visit this place and you'll make any excuse to return over and over!

The food was okay. It was just very bland and not up to snuff with other Thai food I've had in the past... Honestly it was about the same quality I've gotten from frozen food at the grocery store. 🤷 But ya know I can't expect much from Thai food in Lumberton

I am a returning customer to Thai Chili, however after this experience I will not be returning. I found a maggot in my chicken & broccoli plate. The reason I am posting this review, is because when I called up there to inform them of the situation, the woman asked me was it a grayish color. Giving the impression that this is a known issue.

I could literally eat here every single day. I’m trying hard not to order it today since we ate there yesterday.

Every thing on the menu is delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The owners are so welcoming and the staff are extremely friendly. The only issue I have is that this place has such delicious, fresh food that I never want to eat anywhere else... and I hate that they’re not open on the weekend. My “go-to” items to order are #46 with chicken, #43 with ground chicken, spring rolls, any of the 4 curries (green, red, yellow, or massaman), pineapple fried rice, pad thai with chicken, meatballs, sesame chicken, and house fried rice. If you’re not too keen on super spicy food, I would suggest order mild or ask for spice on the side so you can control it. But be careful, it will set your tail on fire. Lol. But I love this place and the people running it- they will always have me as a customer- usually multiple times a week. 🤪😂❤️

Found this gem of a Thai place on our roadtrip back home to NYC. We have had our fair share of Thai food both in NYC and in actual Thailand and this place is right on the money. We had the Pad Se Eu, Panang Curry, and Chicken Stir-fry dish with veggies and pineapples whose name escapes me at the moment. All were delicious.

We ordered 4 dishes. Green curry was good, fried rice was fine but drunken noodles were not edible. It was soggy and pasty.

While passing though Lumberton we decided to try out Thai chili. We were both very surprised at how great the food was. The beef soup had an amazing flavor and the pud thai was really great as well. The servers were very friendly and quick to help with anything we needed.

Vegan options. I was very appreciative of our waitress who could pick up on things we choose not to eat and communicated that to us every time. The food was really good. I had the Tofu Soup, and my boyfriend had the pineapple fried rice. Spring rolls and the sauce it comes with was delicious. I also appreciated how they offer dine in during the pandemic (also have an outdoor area, but it was closed due to it raining), but serve them in the to-go containers so keep things cleaner. All employees wore masks.

Great service with Authentic food. Even the Sesame chicken has a distinct Thai taste. Also, hot means "You'll need a glass of milk and a liter of aloe vera" hot. Not literally, but few items will make you rethink your definition of spice.

Delicious! This is definitely worth the short drive from I-95. The food was excellent and the service was attentive. I ordered medium spice for the heat level and it was perfect. Will definitely stop in again when driving through the area.
