This was a very nice casual place for dinner. The Tom Yum soup was absolutely fantastic, full flavor. The Pad Thai was not even average. I think it was drenched in peanut sauce, it sure tasted like it. The overall experience was average. I would go back, but simply for the Tom Yum soup only. I cannot say enough positive about it.
Had a fantastic dinner at Basil Leaf! This charming little restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and prepared quickly. While the restaurant has an upscale vibe, it's still a casual and welcoming place to enjoy a meal. Highly recommend!
High Point is home to so many Thai restaurants that even a Thai/sushi combo isn't unique here. Amid such competition, it is hard to stand out though The Basil Leaf certainly gives it a good try.
Though not a large space, The Basil Leaf doesn't lack for seating. The ambiance aims for classy without being stuffy and largely succeeds. Service was attentive throughout our meal.
The Basil Leaf's menu features a variety of Japanese (appetizers, sushi, and teriyaki/hibachi entrees) and Thai (appetizers, soups, salads, curries, noodles, and more) offerings. There were no unexpected finds, but if you know the cuisine well enough to know what you want, you'll likely find it here.
I had a Pad Thai craving and, my wife and I ended up going with a chicken Pad Thai, a beef pineapple fried rice, and a Crab Rangoon starter. The food was tasty (good amount of sauce on the noodles and sweetness balanced with curry notes in the fried rice), and The Basil Leaf will match your desired spice level. While the plating aims for aesthetic sophistication (i.e. carrots cut into a flower shape), serving the rice in a rectangular block was an odd touch. Both entrees were generously portioned. At $15 and $17, neither broke the bank though the prices are a bit higher than the nearest competitor.
All told, The Basil Leaf isn't likely to become my favorite Thai eatery, but it is one that I would feel no qualms about coming back to.
From the warm greeting upon entering to the thank you for coming as we exited everything was simply amazing. I had Red Curry and chicken and it was delicious! The server was one point the entire time. The staff ALL looked happy to be there. The environment was welcoming. It was overall a great experience. We will definitely be back.
The food here is excellent! I got take out so I cannot say about atmosphere, but it looks really cozy, and the wonderful aromas are inviting. The sushi and noodle dishes we got were outstanding. Great spring rolls too! Go and enjoy.
Went for lunch and did the drunken noodles, I enjoyed that dish. The lunch options come with a tofu type soup and a basic spring roll. I did the papaya salad which stated it had ground peanuts but it also had whole peanuts and it overpowered the taste to me.
My husband did the chicken pho. He said it was good base but lacked flavor. The interior is nice and bright.
Wow! I am so impressed with the quality of the food, outstanding! Really nice place as well, and great service. Highly recommend.
I have eight dined or have taken out food here about 12 times in the past year. I’ve also explored dishes that I thought I would never enjoy, yet they were slamming.
A MUST MUST TRY RESTAURANT!!’
We came in for tuna sashimi and left salmon sashimi lovers!! Rolan and Tiffany took great care of us. Highly recommend!
Love this place! Best sushi in High Point
Friendly and fast service. Tried duck for the first time and it was great!

A very nice location and atmosphere with a large, delicious menu. A small bar and friendly, efficient staff. Food is made to order so be patient.
The place getting popular for the lunch.

Food is great and the staff is ver friendly! The Drunken Noodle is a must.
Great food. Fast lunch times.

Oh my‼️ The sushi 🍣🍤🍣🍤 was FANTASTIC 🤩❤️🤩❤️
Had food sickness after eating here. They refused to take accountability. The server made us feel rushed and the manager was unfriendly. This is my second bad experience and don’t recommend coming.
I was greeted and welcomed very kindly. The staff were amazing, but I’m traveling through grabbing something quick on the go so I can hurry up and get home thinking OK green curry. 20 miles down the road I take a bite and the nose wrinkles as I ask myself, “is it just me or does it taste like Green curry that somebody dipped a powdered sugar doughnut in?” So I call and the very polite man who answered the phone asked in the back if the curry has sugar in it and sure enough - SUGAR …. in CURRY!!!! Who DOES that? It’s like taking a perfectly prepared dish and then pouring pancake syrup all over it and ruining it. Blech. Into the Garbage it goes along with my 16 dollars. I guess I’ll order pizza.
The decor is great, the food is amazing, and the staff are incredible. Definitely a must try. (Get the Khao Soi)
Never disappoints. Always consistent. Always delicious. And Roland, as well as the rest of staff, are welcoming, knowledgeable and nice.
lol expensive go on date night
Always excellent service and food.
I've had better sushi from gas station coolers. Several tables who were sat after us received their food long before us. And our server should never have a job more difficult than stacking empty boxes no more than three high. I will never set foot in any Basil leaf location after this experience.
My boyfriend and I visited The Basil Leaf for dinner on 7/13. The steamed dumplings were okay, but my Pad Thai was underwhelming. Our waiter seated us and took our order, but did little after that to check on us. My boyfriend's sushi was delivered before my meal and I had to wait another 10-15 minutes to get my meal. As we were sitting there, diners who came in after us were being served prior to us. My boyfriend got up to speak with who seemed to be the manager or owner and was told that there was an issue with the system. That's fine. That kind of stuff happens all of the time, but that should have been communicated with us prior to him having to ask. Between my lackluster entree and poor service, I would not recommend this restaurant.
Excellent all the way around. The staff are friendly and professional. The place is clean and spotless. Every item ordered was perfection. Try the Duck w Red Curry, it is mouthwatering. That's a five-star chef in the back one must say. Totally recommend this fine establishment.
Flavorful with heat, real Thai food. Beautiful location.
So good. Can’t wait to go back.
The lunch menu I added chicken option- it tasted stale.
This is our favorite Thai place! We plan our date nights around getting pedicures across the parking lot and then having dinner here! Specials are always spot on. I had a peanut sauce chicken dish that was creamy, savory and delicious. Admittedly I have high expectations for food and service but I have never had a bad meal or service here! That's the highest praise I can offer! 😊
Best beef fried rice and sushi I’ve ever had! I thought there was no way NC fried rice was going to be 10/10 but it was! Wow I would fly for this meal, I ordered beef fired rice and the Sunrise Roll (Shrimp tempura, cream cheese, avocado topped with spicy tuna and eel sauce) the fried rice is buttery and wow!
Best sushi in the Triad!
The restaurant was great, and the food was good. Great flavors and presentation. Service was good, and they hit all 3 of my major things I look for when judging service. They are getting 3 starts because of the 20% gratuity thrown onto my bill for having a party of 5. First place I've gone to that considers us a "large party" but whatever, its their restaurant and their choice to do so for whatever their reasons.
I will come back, but it won't be with my whole family. I would have tipped anyway, but since it was already added; they did it for me. Thats the only negative, but I sorta understand why they did it. Regardless lol, I guess I'd rather pick the percentage I want to tip. Stll recommend you go, just watch out if you're a party of 5 or more....
Cute little restaurant with many options. They have a HUGE menu. Many vegetarian options were available. I got avocado rolls and red curry with tofu. Both were delicious. They also have a small menu for cocktails, wine, and beer.
Great food and service.
Great food, great sushi!
I love it when work takes me to High Point so that I get to eat here! From the sushi to the Green curry this place is amazing
The most delicious sushi. Presentation is beautiful. Serive great!!!
Went with coworkers after a long day. The food was hot, it arrived really fast and was supper good! They are really nice amd professional...I will definitely return when in town for work.
Best Nigiri in the Triad area. Salmon or Tuna deluxe is my go to.
Just a little noisy. Other than that, perfect!
The service was amazing and the food was fabulous! We got two special sushi rolls and that was plenty they were huge!
Pho is delicious..
The food was acceptable. However, not one staff member smiled, said hello, please, thank you or you're welcome! WHAT? People were served who came in after us, therefore we were there awhile, and our initial drinks were not refilled. We were completely confused. But now know if we go again, to order EVERYTHING UPFRONT, and to not expect manners of any kind!
Basil Leaf has beautiful ambience. The site has a cool European feel with lovely lighting and a cute bar area. Our party had multiple dishes and it was a mixed bag flavorwise. The Orange Dragon Roll was a big hit. Very fresh and interesting flavors with the tempura shrimp filling. Spring rolls were cooked well but would really benefit from additional seasonings. They were just a little bland. Sweet and sour chicken was cooked nicely and vegetables were perfectly crisp. Chicken was tender and delicious, but again, the dish just lacked flavor. Teriyaki steak was a nice dish but the steak was medium rare rather than the medium ordered. That may just be the chef's preference. Full disclosure, the Teriyaki steak dish was prepared as a gluten free, so overall the flavor was not exactly as expected but the chef tried to accommodate. Cut of the steak was good quality. Overall a nice experience, but we weren't wowed by the food. Thai food should burst with flavor and these dishes were just okay. I'm leaving a 4 star review because the atmosphere was really lovely and we will give them another chance with the food.
Food amazing
Such a cute little find! Me & my boyfriend love thai food and decided to try something new. The service was amazing from beginning to end!! Waitresses were very attentive and checked on us often. Food was delicious! 10/10.
Came here for dinner and it was amazing. Tried 2 sushi rolls and the drunken noodle. It was very flavorful. The servers were helpful and attentive. Definitely will be returning.
The customer service does not exist. And, we waited 50 mins to get our order on a weekday evening.
We ordered the vegetarian Thai Hot, thai fried rice and it was bland and tasteless. When we told the server, all she did was give us a bowl of red chillies and tell us to add it ourselves.
The quantity is also half of what we get at comparable (costwise) restaurants.
Not coming back here ever again.
Definitely not for vegetarians.
Called to place an order for pick up since I’m visiting from out of town. They wouldn’t take my order unless I paid over the phone. I was in the middle of a store and not about to give out my card number to someone I don’t know in a place that public. Poor customer service.
Excellent food, delicious sushi. Service was spot on. Atmosphere is inviting. Great place for date lunch or dinner.
Great tasting ingredients and tasty dishes. The atmosphere is great. The service was quick and efficient.
Great place for Thai food.
Food was delicious and portions were huge!! Definitely will be back. They had options for both vegetarian and gluten free, including gluten free soy sauce!
We arrived late, ordered everything and enjoyed every bite! The food was fresh and flavorful! Will so come back!
Love this place!
Food is great, downside is it's a small place and can get really busy.
Favorite place for take out!
We went there 8:00 pm on Saturday June 24th 2023. They said they r closing 9:00 pm so can’t take any orders. I mean really!!!!! You guys posted time that you open until 9:00 pm. Totally wasted my time. Never come back again. I would go for zero star if I can.
This is my favorite new Thai restaurant. They have everything I wanted to eat, sushi and my curry dish. Next time I will have the pad Thai. Service was also great.
Excellent restaurant
I can’t say enough about this restaurant. The soup was amazing and the main dish (I got the curry) was bursting with flavor. Absolutely a five star Thai and Sushi location. I will definitely be putting this place into my regular dining rotation when I’m in the area!
It's always a well comfort food place for any kind of occasion. Didn't have any problems and the staff workers are very well! Came to dine with my brother because he was craving for it. Thai Hot 🔥 Drunken Noodle 🍜 is the best! Pick any kind of meat for the selection from the menu and enjoy 😉
Poor service. Server brought dirty plate twice. When I mention to change it, she seems not like it.
Always delicious! The sushi is ample and the specials are a "go to". Full bar although we usually stick to their wine and sake menu.
Worst thai food that I have ever had. The rice was like uncle Ben's..... when I ask for sour sauce or jeow I was offered distilled vinegar like what tf...I would never recommend this restaurant for thai food.
Went here for the first time with my coworkers, and The Basil Leaf did not disappoint. A1 service and the food is amazing. Thank you!!!
Great food...Hunter was awesome
The food, service and company were fantastic. No complaints except that I wish I could have eaten more! Bring an appetite y'all!
Food has been excellent all three times that I've been here. The tables are little cramped into the small restaurant giving little feeling of privacy.
Went on a date to this restaurant. Great atmosphere, great and friendly service.
Extremely disappointed! The food was delicious but the service was absolutely terrible! We will not be coming back just because of the service. We had two servers tonight and both were clearly just in a rush to go home. So sad we wasted a date night and our money here.
The food was outstanding!!
The food was spectacular. The service was excellent. Highly recommend. Definitely be returning.
I paid $23.47 for hibachi steak. I ordered from the dinner menu and I assumed it would be a dinner-size portion. The order was to go. I was very disappointed when I opened my order and saw the portion size. For the amount of money I paid, I was expecting more. The "salad" was literally 4 sprigs of lettuce. The main dish had more mushrooms than meat and other vegetables. I hate mushrooms and asked that they not put them in my order. I ate the entire meal and was still hungry. The food was good, but it is grossly overpriced. I would have been comfortable paying $12-$13 for this meal. If you have an extra $24 to blow, then by all means eat here. My visit occurred on 2/16/23 during lunch. I will NOT be returning.
This was a small place but packed on a Tuesday night. The food was full of flavor and plentiful. The service was decent but if they miss something seems difficult for them to correct. The staff was friendly and helpful but the star was the starters and the entrees. We will be returning.
Panang curry was so watered down that it barely had flavor.
Overall best place to go for Thai food in the area. The food is pretty good, the restaurant is clean, and the service is even better. The staff is always working super hard and attentive. I always get my food quickly!
I would give them a zero star review because the service was so bad. The food was so bland and overpriced. It took them all of 20 minutes just to give us the menu. They do treat people who dress better with better service so make sure to put on your suits and gowns…. I had on a gym outfit as I just came from the gym and we can see that they treat people who dress nicer with better service. Overall Zero out of 10 would NEVER RECOMMEND. the sushi was so big and so bad.
Gratitude 20% for 4 people by default is too much. Soup and curry both coconut based are sweet, seems they used sweetened coconut milk. We were there at 8:45 and they started cleaning and we couldn’t eat with all cleaning liquid smell so we had to box them. only good thing I had was wine. 🙄
Awesome meal and service as always.
Crab Rangoon was great. Steak hibachi and the yellow curry both had very tough beef. Service was a little slow as well.
Not a good place for vegetarians. Pad see ew is edible but definitely not authentic Thai sauce. Fresh rolls don’t come with enough sauce and it’s waterier than any peanut sauce I’ve had.
This was one of the best meals we've had all year. The pineapple fried rice with shrimp was over the top, and the curry very good.
The atmosphere looked expensive, the food was priced very reasonably. If I am in the area again I would go out of my way to eat there.
Randomly closed on a Friday night even though they are listed as open. Surprised they are still in business.
Love it! So good.
Great food, love the sushi.
The service and food were okay; they just didn't live up to other Thai and Sushi places. The sushi menu was a bit overwhelming that it made the rest of the options look minimal. It was also a bit on the pricey side for the food being offered.
Loved everything about the place.
My husband could not stop going on and on about the Sakura Roll. Everything was fresh and delicious. This was our second trip and waiting patiently for our next. So good.
I discovered the Basil Leaf in Winston, and also started going to this location in the last couple years. It is one of the stand-out Thai dining experiences in the Triad. I highly recommend giving them a try dining-in instead of just take-out, although both are solid options. The meal and appetizer presentation is quite good and, especially with the lunch special options, prices are reasonable. The white rice I've had with the entrees was delicious and perfectly prepared and surprised me one time as the stand out part of my meal (one of their weekend lunch specials). If you like spicy, then I especially recommend giving a Basil Leaf a try as they have a wide range of spice levels available (including essentially none so don't worry) which add an extra dimension of flavor to the dish rather than pure heat. I can't speak much for their Sushi, as I've only had a basic roll one time, and my only gripe is perhaps the beef option with entrees isn't the best. I usually get the chicken as my protein which works out better for me. Worthy of five stars overall.
I stopped here just to get a sneak peek. I wasn’t really hungry so I ordered thai tea and a spicy tuna roll. Sushi was fresh and very well made but the tea was horrible. It was way too sweet for me so i had to leave it.
The restaurant was completely empty when i was there and it was around late afternoon.
Customer service was okay. I cant say that it was the best.
Best sushi in High Point. I assume everything else is fantastic but I've yet to make it past the appetizer and sushi part. Best crab Rangoon also.
Great place for lunch with colleagues. Lots of vegetarian food!
Great menus for both Thai and sushi. The Thai duck curry is awesome!
Our family loves this restaurant! The servers are friendly and always remember us. The food is fresh and delicious! One of our faves!!
This is by far our favorite Thai restaurant in NC. The food is delicious!!
I got it to go. The curry was a bit bland? No spice.
Good Tasty Thai food. Quite the number of listings in the menu book has a good variety of options.
It was quite a small place so it seemed a bit noisy during the afternoon when many people visit.
Lunch was great, the hot & sour soup was awesome
Great food and friendly staff. A little windy with roaring AC.
Just.... average. The fact they use prepped little cubed carrots and peas (like frozen) in their curry and the fact I didn't take my leftover home means I wouldn't want to eat here again. Once and done.
GREAT FOOD! Sushi was on point and the chicken Pad-tai was VERY GOOD. We have eaten inside and outside and both areas are nice and clean!
Excellent food, beautiful presentation, AND they can make most items gluten free!
This is a cute little place with pretty good food and a relaxed environment. I’ve eaten here several times and have not had a bad meal yet. They’re also very quick with service too
We sat outside, lovely patio. The food was good, but a bit pricey. The sushi came out first and the other two meals came out about 10 minutes later. The service was not great. The experience as a whole was just ok. We would definitely try some others places first before returning. The drinks looked tasty and all the dishes that came out looked good.
