After that we shared the orange chicken with a spice level of 5. It was like a really delicious General Tso's. The outside had a crispy texture, and the inside was very tender chicken. It was perfection. So freaking good!

The food was really delicious, we couldn't believe the place wasn't packed! We were served by a kind and handsome Vin Diesel look alike! (I never knew I was a fan until he showed up at our table!) Both my husband and the server thought it was hilarious but it's absolutely the way I saw it!!!

Like seriously I didn't knkw what to expect, but I am so happy. We ate the pho soup, the dumpling soup, the pancake and the spring rolls. They were all hot, and perfect. Definitely coming back!

What a WONDERFUL addition to Havelock. My family has tried several dishes, all takeout. The portions are HUGE & the QUALITY is consistent. This is not fast food, this is worth your patience food.
The Pad Thai we’ve tried 3x’s, it is sweet and tangy, the noodles are chewy and cooked perfectly. Everything you want in Pad Thai is right here. The Pad See Eu is full of blanched broccoli (EVERY PIECE Fresh & Vibrant), yummy chewy noodles tossed in a sweet soy sauce. The Shrimp fried rice was full of Large Sweet Shrimp & the savory flavor on point. Definitely a dish we will reorder. The Papaya Salad was deliciously bright, crunchy & full of umami flavor. The ORANGE CHICKEN is FABULOUS! BEST on this Coast. The crispy batter is similar to a light tempura, but so much better. Also don’t forget to squeeze the orange on the chicken for extra YUM.
You cannot go wrong with any appetizer they are all delicious. The Scallion Pancakes, Wings & Pot Stickers 10 outa 10. My only tiny complaint is the Fresh Spring Roll Peanut Sauce, I did miss the usual added Hoisin. Fortunately it’s a staple in my home so I was able to add it. That being said, their sweet chili sauce & Thai Tea is definitely hands down the best I’ve ever had.
I’d say Customer service is equally important to flavor & quality. The owner/operator & chefs are truly exceptional. If you have an issue let them know, they will fix it. :)

I absolutely loved my experience at this Thai restaurant! The beef pho was flavorful and incredibly satisfying, with tender beef and a rich, aromatic broth. And the mango sticky rice? Just perfect! The mango was fresh and sweet, while the sticky rice was perfectly cooked and creamy. I’ll definitely be back for these amazing dishes. Highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic, delicious Thai food!

Just wow! Made a pit stop to this place on the way back home. They were very kid friendly & the service is amazing. The inside is beautiful, honestly it was beautiful in there down to the silverware. But what really struck me was how delicious everything tasted. I got the pork jerky that was fried to perfection. Not too soft and not too hard. And talk about the cilantro pepper sauce that comes with it. Absolutely delicious. The orange chicken entree was amazing too. It is nothing live i've ever had before. The sauce was delicious. This place is definitely a hidden gem in a small town. If you are craving some asian food, you will not be disappointed here. The first place where I actually believe they deserved tipping.

We ordered the appetizer sampler and loved everything on it. I tried the house fried rice with chicken, one daughter tried the garlic friend rice with chicken, another daughter had the orange chicken.
The house fried rice was quite delicious and fresh. The garlic one was very flavorful, fresh and tasty. The orange chicken was also hot and fresh but extra extra saucy. This is probably a personal preference about the sauce so no stars removed for that.
My favorite thing tonight was the coconut shrimp on the appetizer sampler and the fried dumplings. Yum yum 😋

Just happened upon Pho Van today, and glad we stopped. We started with the sampler app, and it was tough not to get another round. The spring rolls (hot and cold)- the peanut sauce was a great accompaniment, rangoons, and coconut shrimp, but the scallion pancakes/puffs were amazing. I wanted to get a second order, but decided to hold off, and glad we did,because the portions were huge. Our family got an assortment to share - the pad thai (great flavor and just sweet enough), garlic chicken stir fry (garlicky and plenty of meat), orange chicken (not too sweet, great flavor), pad see eu (on point), and sticky rice (very thick). No regrets, and would get everything again. Will definitely make the trip to visit again.

Had the cashew stirfry with beef. It was very good! I recommend the crab rangoon appetizer. It's one of the better crab rangoons I've had at a restaurant.

Pho Van under new ownership since 5 or 6 months ago is a MUST-go for your Vietnamese and Thai food cravings. The dishes we got were so delicious and had complimenting flavors, true to the dish. When we heard from our friends that this restaurant had NEW owners and a restaurant make over, we wanted to give it a try ASAP. Here’s what we got:

- Veggie spring rolls - good, quick appetizer post hike for us. There’s only 1 spring roll left in my picture (originally came with 4 rolls) because my camera was not fast enough.
- Pho Beef - my husband got this and I stole several big bites to taste test, and loved it. Pho beef is suppose to be a light, yet flavorful broth, and this one was just it, so tasty! Try the broth before you add your Hoisin and Sriracha condiments, you’ll appreciate the taste of cozy warmth that pho brings.
- Spicy catfish - This is Thai style and I got spicy level 5. Fresh veggies with a bowl of white rice! Loved it so much.

We tried so hard not to over order since we just went for hike. But, we cannot wait to come back to try other dishes and support husband and wife owned, Aaron and B :) They are both so wonderful to chat with, food AMAZING, restaurant is clean, and our waitress (a young girl), was sweet as well.

My husband and I are rooting for Aaron & B’s success in an area that truly needs delicious Asian food for the many out-of-state military men and women on base without having to drive to Raleigh (2 hrs 15 mins-ish from New Bern/Havelock) for decent Asian meals. Give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Shared the sampler tonight, everything was delicious! Enough to share for two people, as there's two of each appetizer on it. Pad Thai is incredible, but the star tonight was the mango sticky rice. OMG It was made fresh, and served as dessert. Did I already say OMG? There was enough for us to share, but only because we had already eaten so much! In the future, no pad thai and I'll get my own mango sticky rice. Thanks so much!!

Havelocks hidden gem . The food is hands down the best that I have ever had . My husband and I just got back from Oklahoma and was craving pho van . What truly sets this place apart is their exceptional customer service. They go above and beyond to make every visit special. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the employees are always a joy to be around – friendly, attentive, and passionate about what they do. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience! 100/10 recommend

I've been to other Vietnamese out of state and I was happy to find a place that could serve a great bowl of Phó. I'll definitely be back for more. I would highly recommend it.

Finally, a really good pho restaurant! We are kind of "pho snobs," and have been disappointed with every other pho restaurant (except one) from Sneads Ferry to New Bern over the years we have lived here.

Reading the recent reviews that Pho Van is under new ownership, and has fabulous food and staff, I had to give it a try as I traveled home from the airport. I ordered two beef pho and fried spring rolls to go.

When I got home, the first thing I noticed was the deeply-colored broth. Wow, a change from the watery broths that we usually encounter.

We got everything heated, assembled and spiced, and after several bites, we both gave Pho Van two happy thumbs up! Next time I will order an extra serving of the sprouts/limes/basil, as the to-go orders can definitely benefit from a bit more of this goodness.

And the fried vegetable spring rolls were very tasty and crunchy too!

If you like good pho, I highly recommend giving the new Pho Van a try. Do yourself a favor and only read reviews from about January 2024 forward, as the prior ownership was not nearly as good, but these older reviews are pulling the restaurant's ratng down.

Now we have a great place when we head to the Morehead/Havelock area as well as the one (unexpected) place when we head to Jacksonville.

I’ve had pho in a few different cities and several smaller towns. This is the best pho broth I’ve ever tasted. The owner and her husband treated us like friends, which has been a better experience compared to the customer service at most restaurants we’ve tried in New Bern and Havelock. My first experience here was amazing, and even if it wasn’t I’d still come back just for the pho.

Love the beef pho and thai tea from here! You get to customize your spice level with an assortment of chili oils on the side and choose what veggies to put into your pho. The thai tea is perfect to cool your mouth down in between eating if you like to make it hot. The restruant is nice and the owners are as sweet as could be. Would defiantly recommend trying this place out if you’re in town or a local!

The food was absolutely great! Both of our dishes came out on time and were fresh and very tasty. The owners came out and greeted everyone that was in the the restaurant eating. As a business owner, this impressed me. They were super kind and friendly. We had a great conversation with them and got to know them. We would definitely come back here again.

This is our first time going to Pho Van and we were very impressed. My husband got the Thai Basil beef and I had the Pad see ew. We also got the sampler platter and everything on it tasted amazing! The flavors are very authentic and portion ratio to price is reasonable. Customer service was very attentive and kind. We got to speak with the new owner and she is very sweet. We are excited for the new plans she has for the restaurant. We live out in Hubert and have gone to many Asian restaurants in Jacksonville and Swansboro and Pho Van will be one of our go to Thai places. Thank you for your kindness and authentic Thai dishes!!! (I wish I took pics of our food but I was able to get the pic of the mango sticky rice dessert which was delicious).

Excellent Pad Keemao. I had it with Chicken and Tofu proteins. The flavor was traditional, and the heat was just what I ordered, and easily adjusted by the sauces on the table.

This is a hidden gem. For those who like ethnic foods, this is a great option for both Vietnamese and Thai. The food was very good as was the service. This was my first time there but will not be my last. The other nice thing is that it was great food without the downtown New Bern prices. We had our first visit to Pho Van. Our first taste of Vietnamese food. The service was very fast. The waiter, who may be the owner too, was great. He was very helpful with suggestions on which sauces complimented each dish. I will add that there was a lot of attention to detail with the presentation and the food a great. All in all a very pleasant dinning experience in an attractive restaurant. We will be back.

Went in for a late lunch on Sunday, been wanting to go for a visit since the new ownership and this was the perfect opportunity. I was initially the only one there so Serb de was top notch but stayed that way even with numerous places the couples coming in and only one waiter at that time he knows what he’s doing. Shout out to the 6’+ muscle man fantastic waiter, now menu has a nice variety of options and I settled on the dumplings and garlic chicken stir fry with rice and Thai tea. Food came out very promptly I actually got the stir fry about few min before the dumplings stir fry is good fresh crisp veggies and good white meat chicken I went with a 5 on the spice level and that was a nice milder medium. The dumplings were fantastic, just missing dumpling sauce. All went down easy with the Thai tea. I didn’t see any alcohol offered.
Will definitely come back again.

We had dinner last night at Pho Van. What a pleasant suprise. Our waiter was Aaron who is the owner with his wife. We started our meal with scallion pancakes served with a delicious sauce. The pancakes were cooked perfect and beautifully plated. I had spicy basil with beef. It was delious and I really like that you can select how spicy you would like your meal. I do not like very spicy food so I selected 2 which was perfect. My husband had Pad Kee Mao with beef, drunken noodles,
veggies tomato and chili with 3 spice.He also enjoyed his meal. Lots of tasty food, large portions, reasonable prices and great service . Many selections to try. Definitely going back. Looking forward to trying other dishes on the menu. Definitely worth trying. Best of luck in your new adventure. You are off to a great start. See u soon.

Last week, I enjoyed a delicious late lunch at Pho Van in Havelock. We started with crab rolls (a.k.a. crab rangoon), then I had the Pad Thai with vegetables, chicken, and tofu, and my mom had Pad Kee Mao with beef. Everything was fabulous, including the service!
I can't say enough good things about this place! ♡

Food was great. Ginger chicken and spicy catfish level 4 was on point! I would recommend this place. I rated a 4 on service because our food was taken to the wrong table causing our food to come out last. Atmosphere was a 4 because it was a little dark in the restaurant. Overall, the restaurant was a very good pick.

Hate the changes they have made to the menu. I have been going to Pho for a long time but now it might stop. They should have the option to have some of the dishes the old way. The spring rolls and peanut sauce used to be my favorite. Now they contain new ingredients, that I ironically don’t prefer, and the peanut sauce is now chunkier and spicier and I can’t stand it. I was so looking forward to the spring rolls again but now this will probably be the last time I have them

Pho Van has new leadership and she is delightful, as is her staff. There is an updated menu with new items including the addition of Thai favorites. Had red curry -vegetable for lunch. It was loaded with quality vegetables and the rich flavors of curry and coconut milk with perfect spice options. Loved it!

The curry was very good. The new restaurant is night and day from the old ownership. Food is good and the servers are working their tails off to keep up with the demand.

Today, my wife and I ate at Pho Van for the first time after open under new ownership. We have experienced cuisine in several countries. The flavors and quality of the menue items that we selected were very authentic and well prepared. I am happy that we now have a great restaurant representing it Asian heritage (Vietnamese, Thai and Laotian).

I came back into town, and I really wanted a specific dish, only to realize that Pho Van had just reopened under new ownership.
I realized that I might not be able to get the dish I usually got, but I decided to call anyway and see what they had.

The lady on the phone was so incredibly nice, and I described the dish I was looking for, and she said that it was not on their menu yet, as they are currently adding things, but that she could make it for me!

She did not have to go out of her way to do that, but she did, and it completely made my day.

The food was delicious. The portions were very generous. It was presented beautifully. And she made two sauces for me to try to go with the dish.
(The peanut sauce is so good!)

We visited during the soft opening, and this food was absolutely amazing!! Havelock really needed this place. We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, Chicken Pad See-Eu, and the Pho Chicken Noodle Soup. Great flavors and fresh food. The owners really care about exemplary service and we will be glad to return many more times!

My wife and I had just eaten here and it was absolutely amazing, the owners were so nice and easy to talk to, I 100% recommend the beef chow mein and the crab rolls, the thai tea was amazing and we will absolutely be going back

Gave the Pho Van a try and we were impressed. The new owner/manager was kind and eager to serve the patrons. We were seated quickly, and food was served within 10-15 minutes. Today I ordered the chicken pho. The portion sizes are substantial and the broth is delicious - I feel that you get more than your money’s worth. I am excited to go back and try more of their dishes, and even more excited that this restaurant is so close to home.

Went to the Pho Van under new owners. It was FABULOUS! Pot stickers were hot and crunchy. Pad Thai was tasty and had wonderful flavor. And the orange chicken was perfect!

Ok. Let me start by saying that I love trying new foods. Being a foodie and business owner myself, I felt the need to post. A new restaurant is in town. They are the new Tai/Vietnamese restaurant at the old (Pho Van). They are not pho van though!!!I’ve been to Pho van. The food was good. It has a new owner. Bonovan and husband Aaron. Im not sure of the new name as I think they are undergoing still the changes of transitioning, they are now using the full restaurant.
I had to post. I love Thai food and travel to New Bern to get some.
I decided to try them out yesterday because as a restaurant sir myself, I realize how tough it can be to create something worth coming back for.

Best tai food I’ve had!!! Full of flavor and I was very satisfied indeed. They’ve cleaned up that place and I hope that they are around for a very long time. Havelock needs this!!!

This place is DELICIOUS if you know how to order. (Pho medium rare beef and the seafood one with shrimp have a great broth). I never got to venture too much off the menu so I can’t vouch for their plates but their pho and appetizers are great. I will say it is a little pricey (15-20) for a bowl but it is well worth it for the quality of the food. This is the only place you’re going to get good pho anywhere around here unless you’re willing to travel to Raleigh. (And even then I think you might find it difficult to beat this one). I don’t know a single thing about authentic Vietnamese food, but I believe they put a lot of love and effort into their broths.

We are so sad to hear that it is temporarily closed. Hopefully the owners are only on vacation and the business is still running. It’s the only place to get REAL, FRESH food anywhere around here that isn’t a plate of microwaved Sysco products. I would seriously eat here weekly if I could afford to eat out so often.

This place is not closed it’s definitely open and it’s definitely the nastiest most disgusting food ever in my opinion. If you eat here you’ll be throwing your money away unless you like rotten, disgusting, vile tasting food.

Good food but I’ll never come back again because a couple months ago they were looking for employees and so I went to apply. They sent out several different people to talk to me and told me the position that was open was a dishwasher and that it’d be hard for me because IM A GIRL. Caught me by surprise with the sexism considering in most cases of it would be the opposite and that they’d want me as a dishwasher. Ironic. I don’t recommend if you’re any gender.

It would just be nice to get an order that was placed and paid for.

If you’ve ever had pho… this ain’t it. The noodles were watery and the broth was bland. The prices were steep for the quality. We get authentic pho for 7 bucks less in Richmond VA.

Also, there was a bug in the spring roll. The server denied it until we ripped it apart and showed her. She still made us pay for it.

The food is so flavorful and portions are generous. Will definitely go back!

Great place for pho!

Big fan! Delicious beef pho and spring rolls! No small dishes, huge portions. Mouth happy, tummy complaining that I sent too much down too fast. You can look at one of my old pho restaurant reviews and know that I prepare my dish, tie my hair back and dig in! Haven't been able to find Vietnamese coffee since I left DC in 2017. They have it here. Definitely coming back!
Update: They were noted as "Open" in Google on Tuesday. Nope not open. Drove an extra hour just to eat here instead of just any old place in New Bern. Now I have to drive another 1/2 hour to Morehead to get a decent meal. But check out my review of Longhorn Steakhouse - It was worth the wait and the drive!

Some of you have never been to a high quality dine in pho and it shows. The food was amazing. The staff were so kind and polite. The atmosphere was dimmed nicely with tinted windows for privacy and peace. Pho is great in nutrition, great for health and has a lot of high protein content. Don't be discouraged by the prices when our local coffee shop charges the same price for 2 drinks and 2 sandwiches. I'll be visiting again to try the Boba!

Went here on March of 2023. Look elsewhere. Food was cold and under cooked. Service was non existent. Prices are through the roof. Server forgot 2 of our orders and never received a check. Was told twice to finish and pay up front.

Food is good. Staff is nice and kinda fast when it comes to taking orders. Everything came out hot and fresh. We liked it. The only thing is that it’s pricy and for what you get. The pho I ordered had like 4 pieces of meat and it was so thin and tiny. It wasn’t worth it. Wish the prices weren’t so high. Also when you walk in you have to grab a menu and sit down. As someone who’s never been before waited 5 minutes before being told to do so. It’s a nice small clean place. From outside there is no light so u can’t really till it’s open unless u go online and check or walk into it. There’s no sign saying the hours and such outside the building. I mostly won’t come again but it was nice to try out. Our total plus tip was $55.XX something for two meals and one Thai boba which was delicious and 3 egg rolls.

Tried this place for the first time was extremely excited. In the course of an hour we got one appetizer after 20 minutes of placing the order. It was upsetting as I have work so couldn’t wait any longer. Left

Quick Service and good quality!

The staff was friendly and the food was excellent. My wife and I tried different things and enjoyed it all. The portions were huge and inexpensive. We will definitely put this on our return list.

This place was alright, the pho has a required taste If you want to enjoy it. The chicken was good as well as the summer rolls and the spring rolls.

Went here yesterday for the first time and would not recommend it to anyone. Our server never came back to check on us even though we needed something. We had to keep calling them. I witnessed them using their bare hands to put pho noodles in the bowl and wrap summer rolls. As I’m half way eating my pho i saw a bug i took it out and left it in another plate. Disgusting. We get to the register and my husband mentions it to the person checking us out. He apologizes after the fact we payed 55 dollars for overpriced food, bad service, not to mention the server gave me the wrong drink and still had to pay for it. I feel we definitely deserved a refund but i didn’t want to argue

My boyfriend and I decided to give this place a try since I have a newfound love of Pho. I ordered the Pho Tai and he ordered the PhoBo Vien. The only reason I rated this 4 and not 5 stars was that he wasn’t a fan of the texture of the meatballs. But if I were just rating the egg rolls and my Pho, I would rate it 5 stars for quality of food. Some reviews mention that the Pho is sweet. I believe they use cinnamon in their broth, and that might give a unique flavor from other Pho recipes, but I liked it. I will definitely come back.

Good beef noodle soup, Thai tea

Expensive, I ordered to go and the broth leaked. The container was broken and she just put one container under it. That didn't help if it will knock over and it did. When I got home it was dripping. The presentation of the food was dirty. The roots of the bean sprouts are dark. Usually they are taking it off. They have military discount sign by the entrance but she doesn't know how to apply it. She told me next time I'll get 20% discount. Not impressed with the broth, it's sweet. Didn't finished it. Waste of money for charging too much for pho, you can do better than that.

Great food. They are under staffed so the service is a bit slow. Worth the wait if you have the time.

I walked in to look at the menu. The prices were OK. There were designated seating and dim lighting. I may be back to order take out.

Used to frequent this location, but they're always understaffed. We always tried to place to go order on our way home or before we come over, but they would never answer the phone. They would not honor their store hours, and are always closing early or a couple days here and there, you never know when they're open. We always tried to be understanding because they have good pho base. But the last straw on the us was when they raised the price from 13 to $18.95, not to mention they've already had an expensive price considering their lack of ambience. $18.95 is high dollar for Pho, and not even top pho restaurants in Raleigh charge anywhere near this price. If I were them, I would reevaluate this price increase. Would not come back until they do.

The food at this restaurant was good, but unfortunately they increased the prices by around 30 to 35% which is just way too much for what it is. It was already pretty expensive, but I can't justify going back and paying what they are now asking. If you are going to increase the price, it is best to do it gradually, not all at once. I understand that is part of running a business having to adjust for changes in the economy, but eating out is part of most peoples disposable income, and unfortunately the consumer feels this also. There is only so much to go around. I wish them the best, but unless they recalibrate their pricing, I won't be going back.

This is a great restaurant to just sit and chill while eating delicious food. Would definitely recommend eating here, the egg rolls are handmade and everything.

Egg rolls tasted like they came out of a box. Not very good. Pho was mediocre. Expensive for the quality.

Place was full and they were understaffed. Our servers were good and took our order when they had a break.
Ordered the egg rolls, pork rolls and Pho Tai.
Appetizers were not good. Egg rolls came straight from a box in my opinion and the pork roll was essentially bologna wrapped around some noodles.
Pho was good, but as others have said a little sweeter than I'm used to.
I will be back for the Pho, it's the only place in Havelock to get it.

Over priced for what it was. Service was just ok. Not worth going back for and nothing stood out.

Their food is just amazing! The first time I had their food I ordered off doordash. I got a decent portion of beef pho and a jasmine boba tea. It was delicious! The second time I ate in person and the ambience was amazing! The people waiting on us were SO kind. They gave us a bigger portion of pho in person but the pho and boba tea were just as delicious! I recently moved to NC from Washington and had tried quite a few pho places and boba tea places but honestly, none of them compare to here. Do NOT hesitate to come here, their food will always leave you wanting more. I had to order a second thing of egg rolls because they were so good.

Food was delightful. Staff was limited due to COVID. Our server, a young male, was not happy to be working and was abrupt and rude. We enjoyed beef pho, chicken pho, summer rolls and Boba tea (lychee).

This place is completely over priced for its quality. The broth seems like it’s been sitting for days and not fresh and like wise for their meat. The waiters seem like they don’t care. I would not recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a decent meal.

I'd give it zero stars if there was an option, old tea. Broth was definitely a couple days old and the meat was old before cooked. Service was wack and expensive for no reason.

Have really wanted vermicelli since moving to the area. I have eaten at pho le which is very good in Jacksonville. This place does not stack up what so ever to pho le. Quality is not there, customer service is not there and they had 1 person in their whole restaurant. This lady came walking in as I'm standing there waiting for my food and she says to me what are you doing? She was probably the owner but you don't say that to someone who is in youre establishment. I spent 21 dollars and thats the last time they'll get money out of me. This place is garbage.

This place is great expect I come around 7pm and they are already closed when their hours states that they close at 8pm.

I come here usually, this place use to be great. However, the new staff that they hired are less to be desired. If you need a refill good luck trying to get it. Also, they have a tendency of messing up your order and you have to wait again for your food. Thats if they aren't giving it to the table of course.

Honestly. The egg rolls were AMAZING. Crispy. Juicy. Tasty! The pho had all the little odds & ends that belong in a good pho bowl; Tripe, tendon, steak, meatballs. The only reason this place didn’t get 5 stars was because of the broth. I know that southern Vietnam makes their broth a little sweeter. But my goodness.... it was so sweet it made me thirsty. I added jalapeños, lime, cilantro, AND sriracha just to counteract the sweetness. Unfortunately, that did not work. If they had more options on the menu I wouldn’t be opposed to trying something new. But as of right now, the only thing bringing me back are the egg rolls.

Food was good but service was horrible, we waited 20 mins to be seated and there was only 2 family's there. They need to have better service ethics. Do not get me wrong the food was great and worth the wait however they definitely need to work on their customer service skills.

Very good Pho. I travel all over the country. I really like this one. Service was prompt, egg rolls were to standard, and the pho was perfect. Plenty of meat, and spices I am used to. The avocado bubble tea was spot on. Will return for more.
