Laid-back, enduring nook in a strip mall preparing familiar Thai dishes to eat in or take out.
Honestly the food is not great. Did a lot of research and there were many suggestions for this place. It also seems like most of the good places closed after COVID. This food is EXPENSIVE, and lacking in flavor, overall. Also, I ordered this Thai hot and got what I would expect to be a 2.
Service was great. Atmosphere was strip mall.
Not trying to hurt a business, but maybe put some effort into the flavor.
A nice spot for lunch or a dinner date the space is small, but intimate in a homely sense . the server is nice and professional i only went during the day shift or lunch and the menu options were great I had the drunken noodle they give a complementary spring roll with a sweet and chili sauce which is a nice appetizer before your main meal overall great spot
I guess im a regular with my wife and I hitting this terrific restaurant at least once a week. Their food is terrific and can be spicy to your taste. No heat to Thai hot it’s always delicious, consistently good. The lunch menu is great with a variety of tasty dishes for $7.95 on weekdays. They intake orders from their regular menu. They’re always gracious and attentive.
I ordered via Doordash and I was very extremely dissatisfied. I was at work in the middle of a 12hr shift, so I wanted something good and filling. This turned out NOT to be it. The Seafood Fried Rice was lumpy and flavorless. The seafood was over cooked hard and rubbery. The Spring Rolls were very small. I have never seen mini Spring Rolls before. They were also flavorless, and the dipping sauce was horrible, runny and had not taste nor body. Overall a very horrible experience. I would not recommend nor order from here ever again!
Good service amazing food especially the Pad Thai and Thai Tea would come here again!
Very nice and friendly and foods was delicious
Good Thai food at very fair price. Great service and owner is charming.
No alcohol served here. Food & Service was great!! Have also ordered from DoorDash - always a good meal!!
Very good for a quick lunch that wasn’t fast food food had very good flavor

Great authentic Thai cuisine

One of our favorite dishes is pumpkin curry. We have eaten at Bangkok many times. Always enjoy the food!

Love the Thai pumpkin curry
Small restaurant with good food. I had pad Thai extra spicy and the lady looked at me like I was crazy ordering Thai hot, but made it spicy. She also guided my friend to try something else when she told her she had zero tolerance for spicy.

Delicious Massaman curry and Tom ka gai! The Pad Thai is pretty good. The pineapple fried rice isn't my thing. I love this place! I only wish the portions of soups and curries were bigger.
The best Thai restaurant in Greensboro! I have been hundreds of times.
The best Thai food in the state!
8/14/24 - Just an update to say this place is still 5 stars and has consistently served the most delicious dishes!!
.
I spent a year looking for a worthy replacement for the Thai restaurant I left behind in another state. THIS IS IT! Everything we ordered was delicious! ***HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!***
I am visiting the area to attend a convention and decided to try this restaurant, based off of the seemingly good reviews. Unfortunately, before I could even order my meal, the waitress asked myself and my company if we can “Hurry up and order because I don’t want my menus to get dirty”..
Which I feel was due to us having three kids within the group.
With that said, that response alone had us to close our tab of only a side of rice and an order of spring rolls, that I have yet to even try because I’m writing this review in a restaurant down the street that exceeds that experience by 100.
Of course, I can’t speak for the food.. but I don’t recommend this place based off of the service alone and it not being a kid friendly restaurant.
Best thai around.
I used to eat her once a week 20 years ago. Food was always excellent! I was fortunate to get to eat here again today. Something has changed. Food is edible, not entirely bad. But not nearly as good. Almost feels like an accountant is cooking now. How little can I put in it to make the most profit. I would not go out of my way to eat here again. Whatever was good here is no longer here.
Yem was so kind, the food was delicious, fresh and flavorful!
I have loved Bangkok Cafe for years! The pineapple fried rice is my go to comfort food, but I've never had any meal that I didn't enjoy. The service is outstanding and we love sharing g this restaurant with friends and family.
Food was not great.
Bangkok Cafe has the best, most authentic Thai food around. Have never been disappointed, have recommended to many friends and coworkers and they have am loved it as much as I do. Have a great lunch menu and can get you in and out if you're on the clock but but don't rush you off either.
If you like watered down curry, then look no further! That curry was thinner than my patience. Vegetables in stir fry dishes were skimpy and flavor was bland. All of these positive reviews let us astray. Sad!
Really good fresh spring rolls
the panang curry with chicken is so delicious & the ladies are very sweet.
Classic Thai restaurant with EXCELLENT food!
They have excellent food that's made really quickly! I've been craving their curry since then. It's so good! I love trying a new menu item each time I go, but I haven't been eating out much recently. Their only downside is that they get packed at lunch, and they're in a small space, but there was always a table free when I went. Definitely recommended.
Food was not good. Soggy noodles, nice people but... Idk. Maybe this is thai in NC. But this was the worst thai I've had.
One of Greensboro’s most consistent and best restaurants!!
Love the curry. Other dishes are unique and always fresh.
The service was attentive, the noodles were delicious, and it wasn't too busy. Heather, our server, gave good recommendations for spice levels. Default is medium, next is Hot, next is Thai Hot, and then they have Extreme Thai Hot. I chose Hot which was a comfortable amount of spice while still being flavorful.
Overall, good place to eat!
Friendly service and clean. Food was surprisingly sub par
Quaint non-assuming place with inexpensive food made with love.
We are new to the area looking for good Thai. This is now our go to! Excellent experience. Clean, very friendly and prompt service and food was great! Yellow curry was excellent so was the Pad Cashew! My favorite were the fresh spring rolls! They were amazing! 5-stars from us!
The BEST Thai food in Greensboro PERIOD!!!
What a treat. Was a long way from home did a search and found this restaurant. Fast service, delicious food, beautiful pleasant people. And I love Thai food!
Great Thai food with affordable prices. Quick service and friendly staff. We love coming here for lunch, and never had anything that disappoints.
Hands down my favorite restaurant in all of Greensboro!
I can't wait to come back. The Tom Kha was delicious and the fresh spring rolls were amazing. My new favorite place to get these two dishes.
Favorite place
Friendly service here. Great tasting food, but a little expensive for the amount you get.
Authentic.Grandma is cooking
Can’t find a good Thai Food place in Greensboro. This is our third restaurant and it failed. Noodles dry, no veggies in the Drunken Noodle, spring rolls dry, no bean sprouts in pad Thai. Super disappointed!!!!!!! Won’t be back.
My favorite. Always good no matter what you choose to eat.
It only took getting a soup to know this place has a rating that it shouldn't because almost 8 dollars for a small cup of bath water with two wontons and the most bland chicken I've ever had with a handful of cilantro just a big NO and I could say a lot more about the atmosphere but I won't
We went to this restaurant for lunch after seeing that it had a 4.6 rating. It definitely doesn’t deserve that rating. We had a few dishes but the ones that were the most disappointing were the Bangkok fried rice and the pad se ew. The sticky rice with mango was also not great. Will not be back.
The fried chicken wings were flavorless hard and dry. The spring rolls were anything but. They had no flavor and had one piece of cabbage one piece of carrot. Again dry and no flavor. Larb? Not served as a salad ...lettuce was cooked... Disgusting the same thing with Nam sod. Very disappointed.
Everything was delicious. We (2 adults and 2 kids) loved it.
Good food and nice staff!
I've been going here for the last 8 years but sadly the last few times have been a pretty poor experience.
They've forgotten the spice on my last three orders. And the last time I got take out (not delivery) the crab Rangoon was cold. Not room temperature but actually cold. Hopefully things get better but there are a lot of other great Thai spots in the triad.
Such a great place to go to, fairly close to my work so I make the drive for the great food, great pricing and wonderful service.
Absolutely my favorite restaurant in Greensboro. Always leave feeling satisfied and looking forward to trying something else on the menu. The Green Curry is my favorite dish. Sometimes we have only appetizers, which are yummy. The crab Rangoon is one of the best in town. Try it all. It’s goooood!
The Red Curry with chicken here is delicious! it was the creamiest coconut curry i’ve had, the portions that came out looked small at first but we could barely finish the food! the staff were also incredibly nice and refilled our drinks as soon as she could. if you want delicious thai food come here 😊
I liked the food and service. The location is a little difficult to find. It is run as a family business.
Picked up an order from this restaurant for our company lunch. The staff was great, the place was clean and the food was good. The only complaint I had was that the dishes listed as spicy were not at all. Good value for the money spent overall.
Excellent family owned cafe.
So delicious! Don't sit on this, great quality food and good prices.
I love the small diner feel and all the yummy choices of food
Bangkok Cafe serves delicious food! The folks who work there are also very kind. We highly recommend it if you're looking for great Thai food!
We tried this place based off the Google reviews, we really enjoyed the food, it had great flavor!
Simple and very rich in taste.
Worth the drive.
Delightful dining experience! The waitstaff was very friendly and our food was prepared quickly, but was clearly fresh. The restaurant itself was very clean with a quaint atmosphere. The wonton soup was delicious and so was the curry. Loved this restaurant and I’m so glad we found it!
5-star quality food
This hole in the wall spot has been here for years and is amazing! Their food is great, and the staff are friendly. Not much seating but maybe one day they may grow out of this small spot and grow.
Everything is Great🥰🥰😍😍😍
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.
yummy.
:D
Some of the best Thai food in the city!
The Chicken Satay appetizer was good, well-seasoned and the peanut sauce for dipping was excellent. The fried calamari tasted like bread and not calamari. The Pad See Ew was well portioned and tasted edible, but there was hardly any brown sauce on it, so it tasted dry and bland. I will be going elsewhere for Thai Food in the future.
This cafe is a slice of heaven. No, it’s better. The Green curry and thai custard get 6 stars out of 5. The Pad pak is top notch. So so so so delicious. Thank you!!!!!!
My number one favorite Thai place for lunch or supper! Delicious food at a great price! Highly recommend!
Great service, even when understaffed! The food is so good, and cheap for what you get.
They are way overpriced for the amount of food you get! They constantly mess up my order every time and when I do get my food there is ALWAYS something missing.
The only
Reason why I eat here is because it’s the closest near my job so it’s convenient but I always order the same thing .The last time I ordered (which was last week),something new , they charged me 8$ for a pint of soup !! Online menu says 5.95 with just broth and maybe 3 strip of small chicken slices, Pad Thai is less than desirable. Lack
Flavor beans sprouts and peanuts! Staple of the meal, y is it missing ?!?! I wish I was kidding, BIG DISSAPPOINTMENT!!!This place is a rip off. This is the last “THAI” restaurant I would recommend!
Fantastic local Thai restaurant in Greensboro. Every dish I have tried has been delicious and provided more than expected. Staff is heartwarmingly nice and makes you feel comfortable from the first experience.
I went here on Wednesday, 12/28. I ordered the pad Thai and the Tom ka gai soup. Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent!
We ordered food from Bangkok cafe through door dash. The menu stated lunch items come with spring rolls, but we did not receive spring rolls. When we called to ask about it, we were told "we dont give spring rolls when you order through door dash" Even though it was listed on the menu. I also paid extra money to add on mixed vegetables, and again we were told "we dont do that when you order on door dash" Then you shouldn't have the option to pay extra money for items you are not going to offer. The lady on the phone stated "just ask for your extra spring rolls the next time you call" This is not an acceptable way to run a business. Unhappy with the experience.
Green curry was excellent.
Amazing! Affordable prices, great selection, excellent food and service. Will be returning again soon to explore the menu. We were able to order an appetizer, a soup, two entrees, and a dessert for around $24 per person. Staff for extremely attentive, and every dish was delicious. Highly recommend!
What a great great place. They are now doing in door dining. Spaced out seating. Always excellent food and service. A family run business. A place to go back to again and again.
Small place, really great food!
7.95 weekday lunch specials are amazing!
Great food and Service.
Very good!
All the food were generally sweet to our taste. Thai cuisine obviously uses a little bit of sugar but theirs was extra :(
Greensboro Şehrinde taylant yemekleri yemek istiyorsanız uğramanız gereken bir mekan fiyatları gayet uygun lezzetli ve ortamın güzel olan bir dükkan
Great food, wonderful flavors and they have fresh healthy options
Just got them delivered and it's literally the best Thai food I've had in years. They even made it extra spicy for me.
Amazing food
Diamond in the ruff, hands down one of the best Thai restaurant in Greensboro. Owners are a blessing to Greensboro, humble, skilled and welcoming. Amazing presentation, unique atmosphere and deep flavors. 5 stars
Excellent food!
Soooo tasty and well priced
The whole staff is super nice & the food is above and beyond. Defenitely the best Thai in Greensboro.
Bangkok Cafe is my favorite restaurant for lunch and dinner. I eat here at least once a week. They use fresh ingredients for all their dishes. I have never been disappointed with any dish I’ve eaten. My children love to come here. Any time we suggest Bangkok Cafe for dinner, we get an enthusiastic “Yes!”
If you’re unsure of Thai food, I suggest trying the Pineapple Fried Rice with chicken. Every person I’ve ever brought with me has loved it, even picky people who don’t really like Thai food.
Best Thai restaurant in Greensboro.
With Pho Hien Vuong 4 minutes away, and Rearn Thai nearby, I don’t understand why anyone would choose this place instead. Tried it for the first time today for lunch. The Massaman Curry with vegetables and Pad Thai. The curry was practically soup with how watery the ‘sauce’ is. Flavor was decent but needed a bowl and spoon to eat what was essential curry broth. It was also about 1/3 the portion size as Rearn Thai, for the same price. The spring rolls were over fried, cold, and extremely underfilled.
The Pad Thai was decent, plenty of egg and chicken. Maybe 2 scallions, and very little sauce coating the noodles. Service was fast and friendly. I’m Giving it 3 stars, and that seems kind.
I wish I could give them another star.
Great food, Great Owners and Staff
Very cute little establishment. Very tasty Thai island. Thai beer available. Excellent soup and rice. Thanks!
Excellent, authentic Thai food. Caring staff of a family-owned business. Highly recommend!
Food and atmosphere was great!
Food was tasty however I found a long black hair in my panang curry as I was finishing my meal. Also my crab rangoon contained no crab, only cream cheese.
Food is delicious & Yim is very friendly.
My wife and I love this place!!!
I was surprised how good the food was here. First time. Loved the food. I'll be back.
Great spot, real authentic
Great food, great prices & great service!!!
It's normally good but the night we went they were shut down for some reason
Great food, I am always happy not matter what I order.
Quiet good spicy food.
A wonderful homey place. Really good service and food
Delicious Delicious Delicious this is the best Thai food I have ever tasted absolutely Delicious five stars amazing ❤️
One of the best places to get Thai food in Greensboro! The rice is very flavorful and seasoned perfectly. We ordered the Kao fried rice w/ beef and pineapple fried rice, both were great. The SPRING ROLLS…. Are delicious, have to be the freshest I’ve ever had.For a delivery order, they followed our requests. Well packed, delivered fresh, no spilled sauces and included napkins and silverware. We will definitely be back soon.
*Drunken noodle* below average!
Good Food & Good Ppl
We thought that with a 4.6 star rating, this place would be bomb, but sadly, it was not. We ordered 2 Som Toms (thai hot & medium spice), Num Tok, Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Green Curry, and 3 Sticky Rice... We spent almost $80 and the only dish that tasted OK was the Num Tok. Everything else was HORRIBLE. Compared to other places around town, this place did not come close at all.
The Som Tom dish is supposed to be mostly papaya (based on its history). Unfortunately, here were only 15 strands of papaya and the rest were carrots. Since the dish was 95% carrots, the Som Tom literally tasted of sweet carrots. No flavors... No fish sauce... No tartness... Nothing but sweetness; which is NOT what Som Tom is supposed to taste like.
The Pad Thai and Pad See Ew also had no flavors and tasted so bland. I had to modify it at home: added more sugar, fish sauce, bean sprout, lemon, and peanuts to the Pad Thai... added more oyster sauce and vinegar to the Pad See Ew...
I did not eat the Green Curry, but my husband said I was lucky to not try it because it was also horrendous. What caught him off guard was the peas they put in it. Usually, Green Curry only has the protein, bamboo, and green bell pepper.
Not to brag, but my husband was super disappointed and said that if I wasn't so tired that night, my cooking would've been way better and we wouldn't have threw $80 in the trash. So... Sorry but not sorry, Bangkok Cafe. You will not have our business until y'all taste y'alls food first.
Lao Kitchen on Gate City Blvd has the best Som Tom and Pad See Ew in town.
Pho Hien Vuong on Spring Garden St has the best Pad Thai and Curry in town.
We have been going to Bangkok Café for the last 4 years and we have never been disappointed. We mostly the curries they are all excellent! Lovely staff, delicious food!! If I lived closer I would go there once a week!!!
Great food always 😋
Good dumplings and chicken, nice staff. Very quiet.
Large variety of delicious choices. Good value for your money and lovely waitress.
I have only been here a few times so far- however, I am always thrilled with the food! The Tom Yum Soup has incredible flavors AND has the added benefit of clearing my head— without being very spicy. Highly recommend this restaurant!!
The dining room isn't very big, but it was full the entire time we ate. The lunch specials are a great deal and the food is delicious. The staff was very friendly. Very cool little place, I've driven by it a bunch but this was my first stop. Will definitely visit again.
A friendly staff named 'Yam', she was very helpful and kind.
By far the best Thai around and great owners. I've been coming here for years and it is authentic as you can get outside of Thailand.
Bangkok Cafe is the greatest. Yim's food is awesome.
Order to table is 3 minutes!
Pad Thai lunch is $7.95!
Perfect food, presentation and what a price! This is my favorite go to Great Thai restaurant. Highly recommended!
Awesome!!!
Excellent food! Great Service! Pleasant and friendly staff!
Delicious and so quick! The staff is attentive and very kind. Food is spectacular! Spring rolls were out within seconds and food quickly followed... If you're looking for a yummy quick lunch, this is your place!
Good red curry!
The tofu pad thai is amazing! I love that they put lots of veggies in there too.
Delicious as always!
Very good food, friendly staff and quick for take out!
Yim always makes my order just right. Place is very clean, service was very fast!
Fantastic fresh rolls! Chicken satay is a bit small though.
I've had good food here once years ago, but the last time I went my noodles tasted like one big clump of drying glue, with very little chicken and one lone piece of red pepper. Won't be going back.
Great place. Forgot to take pictures, I'll try to remember next time :)
One of my favorites in Greeqnsboro. The lunch special is a great deal, comes with a little chicken soup and a fried spring roll
The most miserably poor excuse for Thai food I've ever experienced. My Pad Thai had almost zero bean sprouts or scallions, and minimal chicken. The noodles were overcooked, and the whole mess was a weird orange color. My wife's Pineapple Fried Rice was bland and overcooked. Absolute garbage. Do yourself a favor and skip this place.
Yum! Entrance is a bit awkward but if you miss it, turn around. Fast service, fabulous food, reasonable prices. Home run!
