Wow! We had the best experience at this new restaurant here in Fuquay! Love having new places locally. My husband who is a true food critic said that his food was amazing, which is a huge deal! The wait staff were very knowledgeable, kind and on it. Two things that I would say is the atmosphere of the restaurant doesn’t provide comfort and secondly, when having team meetings - possibly do them in an area that your customers can hear. It can take away from the experience! Otherwise food was delicious and service was outstanding.
Khao Sen is an absolute gem in Fuquay-Varina! We've been twice now, and each time has been fantastic. The food is incredibly flavorful, with a great variety of dishes to choose from. They also offer vegetarian and gluten-free options, which is awesome for those with dietary needs. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to help with recommendations. The restaurant has a clean and modern feel, with plenty of seating available. Definitely a must-try if you're in the area! Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My partner and I decided to try this place last night, and I’m so glad we did. The restaurant is lovely, we started with the dumplings and some passion fruit tea and both were delicious! Highly recommend the dumplings, the rest of the food was as delicious. Presentation was lovely too. Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of their menu.
I took my wife here for a late valentines dinner. The moment we walked in we were very impressed. We loved the lighting and decor and how clean the restaurant was. We ordered dumplings and spring rolls to start and they were a 10/10. I got duck and rice and my wife got stir fry beef and we both loved our meals. She also ordered a strawberry tea with bubbles and it was very good. We will definitely come back again. It was a great time. The Service was super helpful since we had never been before. Can’t say enough good things about it!
Great local Thai food! Really impressed with the food. We will absolutely be coming back. Only note would be it would be great if they had a lunch/ smaller portion option at that time of day. Please go and make sure we keep these great (non chain) restaurants in our community!
Who would have thought that sitting in some random part of Fuqua Varina would be a top 5 restaurant in the state, maybe in all of the South.
The ambience, the aesthetics, the service, the plating, the quality and consistency of the food is 9.5/10 each. Every aspect is world-class. Usually, a restaurant is good or really good in 1 facet. This place crushes it across the board.
This restaurant feels very much like a Tesla where you're paying a 25% premium but you're getting a 50-60% increased output relative to peers. The value is unmatched.
I highly recommend the soft shell crab.
Do not let the atmosphere fool you... This new (and somewhat hidden) local gem is serving up some truly spectacular Thai food. Upon first glance the menu offers so many options to please just about any palate.
We also enjoyed Becca's service. She was very attentive and offered suggestions on the menu and was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. She even introduced us to riceberry... I mean, who knew! It was fantastic.
The place is a little tucked away from the main strip but so so worth going.
P.s.: to the owners, you can and should charge more for the quality of food you're serving. We need you to stay open! Keep up the great work.
I don’t usually leave reviews, but this restaurant is very special to me, so I decided to write one.
I am an immigrant from an Asian country, and I have loved Thai food for as long as I can remember. I’ve eaten a lot of it since my time in my home country. I found this restaurant purely by chance, but I cannot begin to express how much it has enriched my life here in NC. I have already visited many times, and I frequently order takeout as well.
Their food might not be the typical Thai cuisine that most people in America are familiar with—and that’s exactly why I love this place! I had been searching for this kind of authenticity for so long! Every dish I’ve ordered has been absolutely top-notch. Truly delicious. It’s not overly Americanized; it’s real, authentic Asian flavors. If you’re someone who wants to enjoy genuinely delicious food, this is the perfect spot for you. Every dish is amazing! My personal favorites are the Khao Soi Curry (it’s the best!!), Tom Kha Goong, and BBQ Pork. As long as I live in NC, I will keep coming back to this restaurant—no question about it! (Even though it takes me almost an hour to drive there, it’s absolutely worth it.)
On top of that, everyone who works here is so kind. They always greet me with a warm smile and are incredibly welcoming. Sometimes, I feel a little nervous walking into certain places because, racially speaking, I often find myself in the minority. However, I’ve noticed that this restaurant has a very diverse customer base. This, to me, is proof that people from all backgrounds love and appreciate this place—not just Asian people.
As a bonus, they also have a fantastic kids’ menu! The flavors are simple and appropriate for children, which I really appreciate.
I truly hope this restaurant stays here forever. I’ll be back again very soon🇹🇭🙏

Amazing food, so delicious. This is a new treasure in the Fuquay community!
Wonderful food and great service! So glad I found this restaurant, will be coming back soon.
There are a few gluten-free options, spanning appetizers (1), mains, and desserts (1). The food was excellent, despite that a few items were left off one of our dishes that the waitress acknowledges should have been there. The concept felt a little confused with the price point a bit above the service, portion, and ambience. In all it was very good, we will go back, though it's too expensive to be a regular outing.
Nice place, and the food left me speechless!
Absolutely AMAZING food and service! We sat at the bar and Fern was our server- she was the best! My husband I will definitely be back. 10/10 recommend this gem!!!!
FINALLY a great Thai place in Fuquay!! Food was amazing!!
I went on Jan 25,2025 a friend told me about this awesome soup they have Ba Mii Tom Yum Noodle soup. I ordered it medium in spice. I think I could have gone hot.. The flavor of the broth and portion was so yummy, flavorful and abundance. I also had the appetizer Curry Ribs Wow!!!! And to wash it down Rose Black Tea. Im looking for this tea on amazon LOL.. Funny thing I have been to Thailand, Nothaburi traveling all around for a month there, I did not encounter this kind of food, If i did I would have been a fat cat! Over all a A+, Clean, fast, courteous, local and great food and selection. I cant wait to return and sample the rest of the menu... Will You Join Me????? You will not regret it!!!!!

The food is full of great flavor. The staff is always kind and attentive. This restaurant has become a top favorite.
Khao Sen serves some of the best Thai food I've ever had. The Khao Soi curry was delicious and the duck noodles were so yummy. The drinks were also great. I can't wait to come back!
This place is legit. We heard about it the best way--through word-of-mouth--and it did not disappoint. Everything was delicious. It was a five-star meal for very reasonable prices.
So happy for this place. Finally a place that has good food, not a chain and affordable. My family and I loved it and we will be back very soon.
So refreshing to have something like this in fuquay. You can tell the owners put a lot of thought into the food, design, and presentation of everything. So glad we found this today! Beautiful. We will be back. Couldn’t believe I was in fuquay!
This place is a gem. It can be really hard to find a Thai place that serves khao soi but their's is the real deal, it's a must try! We will be coming back for sure.
Excellent cuisine. Great service, one of my favorites in town!
Delicious food, great atmosphere - very clean and excellent customer service!
Delicious food, really nice atmosphere and great service. Lots of unique and traditional menu options. 10/10 recommend
Great local Thai food! Really impressed with the food. We will absolutely be coming back. Only note would be it would be great if they had a lunch/ smaller portion option at that time of day. Please go and make sure we keep these great (non chain) restaurants in our community!
Wonderful experience all around. Delicious food, excellent service, and beautiful atmosphere.
SO GLAD THIS IS IN FUQUAY VARINA! My husband and I love Thai food, and this was just absolutely stellar Thai food. Great location, wonderful atmosphere, very clean, aesthetic, lovely waitress-Camelia, timely arrival of food. Will be frequenting regularly. (Forgot to picture his entree, but also delicious!)
ALSO forgot: and attentiveness to food allergens with good availability of allergen friendly choices.
Food is very good and service is good also.
Not a single negative thing to say here. Great staff, delicious food and was thrilled to try their spicy menu. Pork Noodles were delicious and so was everything else we ordered.
A wonderful casual elegant restaurant, Khao Sen has a pleasing array of delicious, balanced meals, where vegetables, fruit, and meat can equally be stars of the meal. If your preference is noodles or rice, hot or mild, Khao Sen has something for you. Come and try delicious food, and enjoy the casual elegance and inviting atmosphere. Make sure to try one of their many teas or one of their delicious desserts as a companion to an already delightful meal.
The food was great we got there just as they opened. I had their Pad Pak, veggie stir-fry, and my husband had their seafood sukiyaki. The Thai tea was great. Good for date night or just good Thai food. A secret gem in Fuquay-Varina.
Ordered takeout on Christmas Eve. The food was phenomenal. I can’t wait to go eat in the restaurant. I ordered the Thai hot spice, I would have enjoyed even spicier, but it was a fantastic blend of spice and flavor
Excellent Thai food.
This is the real deal. The general other reviews here are accurate.
The food here is very fresh, very well presented, and very good. The service was extremely pleasant (we will ask for Kristian again when we go back). The atmosphere is very basic, but the vibe is warm and inviting. The pricing is very reasonable for the quality of the food.
I have definitely had my share of Thai teas at many places around the world. I have to say this was the best one yet.
My wife is from east Asia (spent most of her life there) and is very picky about the qualify of Thai food. She said that this was an excellent restaurant. We are both very happy about finding this place and knowing it is so close to our home.
Khao Sen ownership/staff - see you again soon!
Fantastic meal. Food is delicious!
It's a must! The food was amazing and service quick and personal. We look forward to returning soon.
Food is amazing, customer service is also great! Does not disappoint
This is the best Thai restaurant in the Raleigh area, if not the state. Their dishes are authentic Thai dishes, but very approachable. Go eat here and get a side of the jaew sauce.
Stopped by for a late lunch this afternoon. We've been to Osha numerous times (sister restaurant), but first time here since opening. Needless to say it was delicious, great service and atmosphere, we'll be back. We shared BBQ pork dumplings, and both had a main course. I had their version of green curry with salmon, husband had a seafood dish with amazing flavors and generous quantities. Boba tea was great as well. So glad we have this in Fuquay!!
I love everything about it. The food is so authentic, not just the pad Thai you have eaten at other Thai places.
I love it! Unique flavors.
My first experience with Khao Sen was takeout in November’24. I was absolutely blown away with how good the food was. My wife and I tried the chicken curry, bbq pork, the krab sticks, and the gyoza. Everything was excellent and I was impressed with how crispy the skin was on my chicken. Aside from the food, what also stood out to me was the care they took to package my to-go order using very quality packaging and separating the broth from the entrees with different containers. I will definitely be going back.
This is the second time I have eaten from this establishment. My wife and I ate here and tried multiple appetizers and entrees. All were very good!
So I had to try it to go. Ordered the Shrimp Tom Kha noodle dish and it was just as good to go, as it was when I had it eating in.
Definitely recommend this place.
My food was delicious.
Good food!!
Well, how do I start? I've tried a lot of their dishes and I really like them. The customer service is amazing. The place is very cozy.
I'm not a fan of their desserts, though. It might be an acquired taste? A few times, I showed up, and it was closed. I think it had to be between 3 and 5 that they close. I wish they wouldn't close. I thought they closed and didn't come back for some time until I decided to do the research because I really like their food.
Highly recommended place! I love their teas, too!

Looks pretty but didn't taste very good. The salmon was crispy but there was no flavor and it was pretty dry. Rice was lacking flavor. Customer service was fabulous, very attentive, very quick. Atmosphere was fine, just fine, nothing necessarily wrong but it felt too bare.
Ordered a soda, gyoza, and the salmon rice dish.
Wow! We had the best experience at this new restaurant here in Fuquay! Love having new places locally. My husband who is a true food critic said that his food was amazing, which is a huge deal! Really good boba and always smells with good food and everyone is super nice! Glad to have somewhere close to get good boba!
I will start off by saying, that I won’t be back. I bought the shrimp and rice, and asked them to make it spicy. They said no, and brought me a tray of spices to add. Ummm No!! I WILL NOT pay over 70 dollars for food again, and go to a place, that won’t make the food the way I ask for. Thats what I’m paying for, to go to a restaurant that prepares food the way the customers like. I was just speechless, when the waitress said so. Their rice is really bad too, and is the second time of having some. It’s to hard and dry.
The restaurant itself was nice inside , until you look up at the foam sprayed ceiling. Never seen anything like it, and not in a good way.
Now to the good part. Their spicy fruit, dumplings and shrimp tastes really good, though I don’t like having to take off tails off the shrimp myself. But I know that’s different for some people.
The bbq pork noodles are AMAZING. Waitress was super knowledgeable and sweet. Absolutely recommend!
I would definitely try this restaurant again, as this was my first visit, however what I was served was not as advertised. I ordered KHAO GOONG which should have come as followed:
sautéed shrimp, fresh garlic, cilantro, and scallion over rice, however I got a bowl of rice, with sautéed shrimp and what taste like store brought minced garlic. Disappointing.
Picked up dinner for myself and for some friends and I’m SO glad we chose this place! All of us were so pleased with our dishes and so excited to have a place serving such amazing food nearby. I was immediately greeted by the hostesses and the food was ready on time for my pickup window. The restaurant was pristine and very soothing to be in. Will definitely be back for a date night soon! We ordered khao soi, ba mii moo daeng, tom kha goong, and khao na nuer, all at medium spice and it was absolutely perfect. I’ll be craving it for days.
Khan Sen is a jewel in the crown of South Wake County’s delicious eateries. Family owned and operated, the menu is small yet a variety of truly enjoyable Thai flavors. Come for lunch and enjoy all the sunlight in this bright, airy space and a Thai tea. Or, plan a date night and try one of their custom drinks. No matter when, be sure to try the Wings! 🌟🇹🇭

I highly recommend the soft shell crab.
This is not your stereotypical Thai restaurant for all the right reasons. We’ve been here multiple times and tried something new each visit—everything has been amazing! Favorites so far are the kai zaap chicken wings, ba mii moo daeng (pork noodle dish), and khao soi (curry dish). It’s so nice having this as an international cuisine option here in Fuquay where we’ll definitely become regulars.
Really great Thai food. Flavorful, high quality, and healthy portions.
food was amazing!
Khao Sen has some of the most authentic Thai food in the area! I love that they strive to deliver an authentic, balanced Thai taste that isn't overly sweet as you often encounter in "Americanized" Thai dishes. I highly recommend the Ba Mii Tom Yum Noodle Soup! The broth was very flavorful and, for the first time since visiting Thailand, I didn't need extra condiments to make it taste just right. The Pad Kra Pow was delicious with Khao Sen's unique twist that was well presented and a tasty take on the traditional dish. Speaking of presentation, my wife and I decided to try the coconut ice cream to see how it measured up to what we've experienced in Thailand and were pleasantly surprised! The dish was beautifully plated and stayed true to the Thai version of an ice cream "sandwich." Did I mention that my wife is natively Thai? I think we're well qualified to assess the authenticity of the restaurant.
The couple that owns the restaurant are very sweet and attentive to their customers. Recognizing that my wife is Thai and that it is common for Thais to enjoy their food with a fork and spoon, Nong brought her a spoon without us having to ask. She was equally attentive to the non-Thai customers in the restaurant. It was a pleasure to have a short conversation with Nong and her husband, who was cooking in the kitchen after our meal and were happy to have met them.
First time going there. The dinner was delicious.
We really enjoyed this place. I suggest more options that are not seafood. Otherwise very tasty and great drink options as well.
The food was ok, but not great. 2 of 3 dishes were very sweet. The "Thai hot" dish had a decent amount of heat, but not really much.
Fantastic food, always fast, great selection, don't listen to anyone who gripes because of missing menu items their food is top-notch!
We were seated right away. It was our first time there. We asked about the menu. Our server very kindly explained everything. The food was very good. We will go back again.
Heard word of this little place and decided to test it out for a takeout dinner ! Got the veggie noodle soup and I am surprised how fresh everything was and flavor was good. They take cash too which is good. Will definitely be back for more.
Surprising spot (lots of future growth in the area- so take advantage while it's still newish!) With takeout space as well as sit-down. The Khao Soi curry is spicy and delicious with generous portions. Chicken wings have a zesty crunch. Pork Rib appetizers were our favorite. Service was great. Tea bar and offerings looked amazing, we'll definitely be back!
Elegant and airy inside. We loved everything we ordered:
Pad Kra Pow Moo Sub -- a delicious ground-pork special. Sen Lek Pak Ruam -- a packed vegetable soup. Not the same old menu as every other Thai restaurant. Excellent Thai iced coffee and the best matcha boba we've ever had. Big step up for Fuquay dining.
THIS IS AWESOME. EVERYTHING,GOOD. WOW.

This place was amazing! Delicious and great staff!
Absolutely amazing food and service!!!
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We ate with a large group and each of us were pleased with our experience. We will definitely be back!
Having lived in Thailand for a long time, I was thrilled to now have a Thai restaurant nearby. Food indeed represents different provinces. Worth coming back. I’m really glad to have a go to place that does not mix their cuisine with Japanese, Chinese or Vietnamese. They state it is authentic food and it truly is!!
Khao Sen in Fuquay Varina was delicious. Had the coconut curry with port and noodles. It was great!
From the food to the presentation to the service to the drinks, every aspect of my experience at Khao Sen was absolutely spectacular! Even if you’re elsewhere in the Triangle, this is 100% worth the drive. This place is a hidden gem, and a wonderful addition to Fuquay-Varina’s growing list of dining options!
Exquisite!
We absolutely love Thai food and I was so excited to finally have a Thai restaurant in FV! Not just saying we love the regular curries with choice of protein and Pad Thai. We love a good authentic Thai restaurant. My SIL is from Thailand so we have been to few nice ones. I had ordered pad pak. This came out extremely dry, basically it was just all rice. I did not like it one bit. Also, not many vegetarian/vegan options.
Top it all, we had an infant in a car seat and the server kept serving over her after I repeatedly told him to serve from the other side. No problem, I moved my baby to the other side thinking it might be easier for him to serve from that side. So then he kept serving from the other side over the baby. I was infuriated. He may be new to the restaurant job but I would think it would be common sense to not serve anything over the baby in case of spills.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't return. Highly disappointed with the dry food (basically just white rice) and lack of common sense.
So happy to have Khao Sen in Fuquay. The food is wonderful and so well prepared and the space is gorgeous. Service has been excellent on both trips.
My husband and I loved the food. It was delicious and spicy. We will definitely be back.
Enjoyed lunch on a Sunday here with some friends and had a wonderful time. Staff was so friendly, the food was flavorful, fresh and spiced with the degree of heat to your liking. Drinks were incredibly cute and tasty. It's officially my new favorite place in Fuquay to dine.
Ordered take out not expecting this place to be different from the rest of the Thai places in the area. Ended up eating one of the most perfect dishes I’ve tried in NC. The crab omelette here was exceptional. To the point I had to post this review while I’m still eating. Do yourself a favor and give them a visit.
This is for sure a very different Thai restaurant. No "Stoplight curries" with choice of protein on the menu here.
I had the "dry" ricenoodle dish with pork and broth on the side (Sen lek hang). It was very tasty, reminded me a little of Dan Dan noodles, just better. My only criticism would be that the thinly sliced pork was a little tough and under seasoned. The ground pork was outstanding.
My husband had the Kuay tiew ped ( duck noodle) which he thoroughly enjoyed. He commented on the good quality of ingredients and that the duck was of the bone. His only criticism was that it was not spicy enough. He asked for the condiment tray and all was well.
The service was outstanding and our server had a good understanding of the menu.
Now, for the not so good. The dining room looks very clinical. A little like a cafeteria in a hospital. Also the seating is very uncomfortable. Maybe, because they are new, some materials to soften the space are still to come.
Great place for lunch or dinner! My personal favorites are spicy chicken wing appetizer and the sweet sausage rice entree! Glad we have this here in Fuquay!
Beautiful interior with modern decor. The lovely lady assigned to our table was very helpful and very good at describing the dishes. She also was very attentive during the meal. Saving the best for last - the food! It was wonderful and fresh, layers of flavor and quite satisfying! We'll definitely be back!
Oh my goodness!! Finally good Thai food in FV/Holly Springs. My brothers took me here for my birthday and everything was so fresh and extremely authentic. I’ll be coming back soon with my family. Super easy parking which is a huge win and a very clean space!
The Khao Soi is so good. Best curry I've had in a long time.
Not your typical thai place but absolutely fabulous. You must go and give it a try. They have a curry noodle bowl with crispy chicken thigh that I dream about now. So good! My son had the fried catfish and was blown away, it was cooked perfectly, and the sauce....oh my. I have tried most of the apps and the mango rice dessert is so good! There are so many drinks to choose from as well. It very well may be my new fav in Fuquay.
Great food, priced really well too. Servers and staff were all very friendly.
Food is so good. Khao Soi curry noodles are amazing
Not sure how I feel about this place. seems like the kind of eatery you'd find in an upscale food court, with better service. The food presentation was amazing, but most of the meat was overcooked, and the place is noisy due to echo, and the seats are very uncomfortable. Service was fantastic, and boba tea great. So a mixed bag,
Super disappointing. The food was ok but I paid $16 for a bowl of rice with a little beef in it. And the only veggie in the bowl was an onion. Hey, can I get a little green in this bowl please? The service was terrible. My server was a combination of horribly slow and very forgetful. Tonight was my first — and last time here.
Best Thai restaurant in the area. The khao soi is excellent.
An absolutely great place to get authentic and delicious Thai.
4 different dishes, all unique in their own right but just brimming with depth of flavor.
Fantastic and friendly service. Prices are very good for the portions.
A must try and try and try again.
Ordered lunch for take out, it was ready when I arrived (less than 10 minutes). I ordered the veggie gyoza, veggie stir fry, and lychee tea. The veggie stir fry was the best I have had since moving to the area. Very fresh, lightly seasoned (not oily), and with Chinese Broccoli and Shitake Mushrooms, which can be difficult to find. I also tried the rice berries - great texture and a healthy option. Quick and friendly service. Couldn't ask for a better take out experience and I will definitely be back!
Food was great. However, the menu was not what we expected. They were missing several dishes available at other Thai places (for example no Pad Thai or Pad See Ewe). But, they had items not available at others (for example, Salmon dishes).
Most of their chicken dishes feature thigh meat, which is a turn-off for me.
Our server was also great-very friendly and helpful. We lowered our service rating because we felt rushed to get out of there. They close at 9:00pm, we arrived at 8:25 and were warned that the kitchen closes at 8:45. We ordered quickly but didn’t finish eating until about 9:10. Around 8:55 they started stacking chairs, and someone came out with a mop at 9:04!
The atmosphere is minimalistic, almost monochrome with cold, hard surfaces everywhere, even the bench seating and chairs. We used the hot tea decanter as a hand warmer! The atmosphere might be better when the place is busier (there were only 2 couples on a Sunday night).
The food was a little pricey, but that seems to be what’s happening everywhere.
We might go back, but maybe just for takeout.
Wonderful experience at Khao Sen, the staff was wonderful and helpful in how to order (spice level). We ordered no spice with spice on the side we could add. Added pics of our food, Ba Mii Moo Daeng (BBQ pork noodles) and Kuay Tiew Nuer (beef noodle soup). Very clean, fast service, and wonderful flavors. Will definitely be back!
Beautiful new restaurant with friendly owner and staff. We travel to Thailand often and enjoyed our selections. Well cooked, sauces were great, and very filling. We also had lychee tea with lychee jelly plus passionfruit tea. Both excellent and comparable to our fav tea house in Cary.
I was very excited to try this place because it’s close to my home. I thought it was a Thai restaurant but the food didn’t taste like Thai food at all. The noodle and meat tasted very processed and not like a restaurant food. The restaurant looked like minimalistic cafeteria and a bit awkward and not cozy since you can see every corner right as you enter the front door.
Fresh, unique menu with amazing service! 10/10 will be back.
Food is exceptional! Have tried several rice dishes, Thai curry, wings and bbq pork noodle dishes. All have been delicious! Service is excellent and atmosphere is nice. Absolutely love that we have such a wonderful restaurant in Fuquay!
We had a great meal tonight and received excellent recommendations and service from Camelia! She was kind, attentive, and knowledgable. The food was so creative and provided a new take on our traditional favorites. We loved the crab sticks which are a spring roll shaped crab rangoon. The curry ribs were cooked perfectly. My husband and I tried different noodle soup options and they were both delicious. We can’t wait to come back and try new options until we find our favorites. Definitely try to save room for dessert, because this was our one mistake. We were stuffed and so jealous of the table next to us when their dessert arrived. We won’t miss out on that next time! Great new addition to Fuquay!!
I researched a place in my area to get some Boba and came across this restaurant! I ordered the honey lavender milk tea with boba and also got the “krab” sticks with sweet chili sauce appetizer. It was delicious and fresh! I did a to-go order and the hostess was very kind as well as helpful. I will be back to try the Tom Yum soup!
We went here for the first time 6/24 at 6:00pm. The restaurant was decently crowded for a Monday and we were seated immediately.
My husband had their special beer, a rice lager from Holly Springs and I had a Thai Tea with Crystal Boba, recommended from our amazing server Becca. My only gripe is that the tea had too much ice and it was a little difficult to get to the boba.
This is not your typical take-out Thai. This menu is special! We ordered the Salmon Yum to start. The sauce is SPICY in a a good way! The food here definitely packs heat. The salmon was so fresh and buttery. My husband order the Khao Soi and I ordered the Ba Mii Moo Daeng. His sauce reminded me of Panang Curry but 100 times better. The medium spice packs quite a bit of heat, especially when the dish itself came out piping hot (as it should)! I was not able to finish my dish because of the tea, but it was still incredible the next day. The pork broth was smooth and savory and the pork itself was cooked to perfection. The dumplings in my dish were incredible. I will definitely be getting the Kanom Jeep as an appetizer next time. We ordered the Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango to go and ate it about two hours later. It was by far the best sweet sticky rice I've ever had. I think Bekah said the mangos were from Mexico. They were so sweet and not stringy at all.
I can't wait to go back and try more. Fuquay has been in desperate need of a good Thai food place and Khao Sen fills that void perfectly. This is so much better than our previously favorited Thai place in Holly Springs.
To top of the review, I really want to point out how great our server, Becca was. (I apologize if I'm spelling the name wrong!!) She was so kind and helpful with menu recommendations. She took care to ask about dietary restrictions. We genuinely had a great time talking to her during our meal. We will certainly ask for her the next time we are there!
Extremely satisfied with everything I tried. Beef stir fry, bbq pork and the grilled pork. Service was great.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We had heard about the new Thai restaurant in our area. This is different than any other Thai restaurant I have been to. There is no curry in sight. Everything we had was delicious. We started with the tofu appetizer which is gf. My only warning is that it was incredibly hot with no outward signs. I did not bite into but cut with a knife and fork and it was still very hot in my mouth so just be careful. I had the vegetable stir fry with riceberr (Thai version of brown rice). It was very good. My husband had the egg omelet with crab and he enjoyed that. I had a fizzy lychee limeade and loved it. The star of our meal was the sweet sticky rice with mango. You have to try this. The place is very minimalist modern decor. Staff was great and helpful.
Went to this wonderful new restaurant for dinner with some friends. Alicia, our server was absolutely wonderful. They were very short staffed for a Saturday night and she was pleasant and smiling the whole time, although she was running like crazy. She took the time to explain dishes to us and even found out why the rice is blue on the mango sticky rice dessert (which was amazing)! The only thing that bothered us was the concrete chairs, which were really uncomfortable for me due to back and hip problems. Also, the acoustics were not good and it was extremely loud. Will definitely return because the food was delicious and the presentation was lovely. Just wish they would get some more comfortable chairs.
We love this place! Food was amazing, service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was new, fresh, and clean. We got the lychee fizz and peach teas to start which were super refreshing. We then had the chicken wings which were seasoned so well. Our main dishes were amazing! And the mango sticky rice is to die for. Will definitely be back and so happy one is so close to our house!
Food was excellent, casual place to have dinner. Definitely will go again.
My wife took me to this new Fuquay find for Father’s Day. Service was great and the staff very friendly and top notch. I consider my culinary expertise to be BBQ and not Thai but I do know great food of any style when I eat it. Khao Sen surpassed my culinary expectations. We shared chicken wings, which were not your Mama’s or Buffalo’s wings. They were absolutely awesome. We also had the soft shell crab, Pu Nim. Unbelievable how tasty this was! The serving sizes were plentiful that we had lunch for the next day. This is a true gem added to the Fuquay Varina restaurant scene.
Khao Sen is different than any other Thai restaurant I’ve been to, in a good way! I typically have not been a fan of “Thai food” but mostly that meant coconut-milk based curries and Pad Thai. Khao Sen showed me I actually really like Thai food— I had an incredible BBQ pork noodle dish (Bah Mii Moo Deang) I’ll be thinking about for quite awhile. Other hits at the table were the crab omelet (Khao Khai Jiao Pu) and chicken curry (Khao Soi). Our server was a little nervous and still trying to remember everything about the menu but what she lacked in confidence she made up for in kindness and positivity. A phenomenal meal, and a wonderful addition to FV’s food options!
Excellent food, service and atmosphere! We were so excited to try a new Thai restaurant, and it did not disappoint. The food was wonderful, and we will definitely be back soon.
We came in for tea, but left with a wonderful meal. We are so excited about this place, can't wait to try more.
Fuquay best new gem this place has amazing food great staff and is super clean can’t ask for more 10/10 will be back
Absolutely amazing all around! Fuquay has been missing this quality of food. Authentic, fresh, and full of flavor. They do not carry typical American Thai food like Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles, but you'll forget they ever existed because the Calibur of their food is out of this world. Go and enjoy an amazing dining experience!
From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The customer service was excellent. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made great menu recommendations especially for gluten free options. The food was outstanding. Each dish was a perfect blend of flavors, with fresh/quality ingredients and the presentation was beautiful even in a take out container.
I’ve eaten at Khao Sen twice in the past week, once dine-in and then take out because it’s so good! I have tried the Kanom Jeep (dumplings), Si-Krong Pad Prik (ribs), Khao Soi, Ba Mii Moo Daeng, Thai Iced Tea, and Sweet Sticky Rice with Thai Mango for dessert. All dishes have been delicious! So far my favorite is the Khao Soi and the Sweet Sticky Rice with Thai Mango. The service is very attentive and friendly. This is a great addition to Fuquay Varina. We will be back soon!
Food and service were fantastic. Khristian was our waitress and was knowledgeable, friendly, and had great recommendations. We can't wait to go back and try other dishes.
Khao Sen is a brightly open space with delicious, fresh options. Our server, Becca, was incredibly friendly, timely, and provided great recommendations. She checked on us frequently to ensure we were happy with our food.
We ordered the wings and Crispy Krab Sticks and each plate was 10/10. I ordered the Tom Kha Goong and while my family thoroughly enjoyed their meals, they kept trying to take bites of mine :-).
Khao Sen is a great addition to the area. It was a pleasant surprise to see that the owner is the same as Osha in Holly Springs. We can’t wait to visit again.
Incredible restaurant addition to Fuquay-Varina. Will absolutely be a regular at Khao Sen!
We had a wonderful dinner, the food was great, it was our first visit, the service was great for a brand new restaurant, and the mango sticky rice was to die for!
So happy to have this new addition to the Quay. Food was excellent! We will be back soon.
Love this place! Great addition to the area and truly a unique menu!
Will be a regular here guaranteed
The interior of the restaurant was cheerful and light in color (no dark moody colors used here!) We ordered KHAO MOO DAENG (BBQ Pork) and PAD PAK (Vegetable Stir-Fry), and both dishes were delicious and filling. It should be noted that Khao Sen is not a typical "American Thai" restaurant -- it doesn't have the usual list of suspects such as Pad Thai or Pad Kee Mao on the menu. Rather, it contains entrees which you would find on a typical dinner table in Thailand, so it is authentic (not Americanized) Thai food. Very highly recommended, and a welcome addition to the already great food scene in Fuquay-Varina!
Great customer service, food was delicious and great atmosphere.
So glad this restaurant opened! It was an amazing culinary experience. The food was delicious with such great detail regarding presentation, flavor and fresh ingredients. The service was absolutely amazing; Khristian had such great knowledge of the menu and was so kind. Will ABSOLUTELY be back and would highly recommend.
Thank you we finally have something besides pizza and Mexican here
DELICIOUS red curry. Enjoyed everything 😋
Great new restaurant with amazing food and friendly staff! Nice selection of sake too! They went out of their way to make the evening a fun, enjoyable experience and I will definitely be back!
What a great addition to Fuquay! You definitely need to check this place out! Everything we had was so fresh & delicious. For an appetizer we had the Kanom Jeep, entrees: Tom Kha Goong
and Kuay Tiew Ped. Peach tea was wonderful! Staff is friendly & attentive. We will be back!
Great new addition to Fuquay. I had the Thai Beef and Rice and it was delicious, not too spicy. The Lemon Honey Tea was also very good. I will come back again.
Amazing experience! I have been so excited to try this place since I saw it on Facebook and I’m so glad we stopped by today! I love Thai food and this was different than anything else I’ve tried before! Our waitress, Khristian, was amazing! I forgot to take a picture of the drinks but the lychee fruit tea and green Thai tea were amazing as well. Definitely come try, you won’t be disappointed!
