Diner Review №1

The crispy tofu appetizer is one of the best tofu dishes I’ve ever had. Plus, you can’t go wrong with any of the curries here - my favorite is the tofu Massaman.

Diner Review №2

Lovely restaurant with great Thai dishes. Everything we ordered - vegetable egg rolls, crispy duck, pineapple fried rice, and roti - were well prepared and tasted great.

We'd order all those dishes again, even as we want to explore the rest of their menu.

The prices were fair, especially as each entree was enough food for 3 to 4 people.

Service can get slower during busier periods (as the sign by the door mentions), but worth the wait.

Diner Review №3

I’ve been looking for good thai in the triangle for years and this place has got it! Excellent service and the drunken noodles and papaya salad are my favorites, we try and go at least a couple times a month. Love this place so much.

Diner Review №4

Outstanding delicious Thai dishes made with fresh ingredients. Highly recommend.

Diner Review №5

Delicious food and great atmosphere. We arrived about 8p on Valentine's Day and were immediately seated.

Diner Review №6

Great portions and properly prepared Thai cuisine. The initial wait at the table was a bit long, but service was friendly and attentive despite the overtaxed wait staff.
Probably the best drunken noodles I have ever tasted. I ask for "spicy" and it was all I could handle. The portion was large enough for me to take some home and make two more meals.

Diner Review №7

Best Thai in the triangle thus far. A welcome addition! Have had take out 6 times now, all great. Ingredients fresh and clean. No particular order: Pad Thai, papaya salad, wings, dumplings, eggplant, Mongolian beef, drunken noodles, curries, soups, dumplings, are all staples for us.

Diner Review №8

难吃。 鸡翅和pad thai都齁甜。 鸡翅还没炸熟 里面生的。 软壳蟹很腥很腻。 服务也不行, 全程被遗忘。

Diner Review №9

I had the thaiangle trout. It was crispy, spicy, and sweet. Couple with steam rice and a cold sake. It really hit the spot.

The inside of the restaurant is a gateway into the past. The art and architecture is like walking into a cathedral with Spanish balconies.

Diner Review №10

Best Thai food in the area! Owners are formerly the owners and founders of Cham Thai in Carrboro. They can even do gluten-free options. So, so tasty!

Diner Review №11

Absolutely FANTASTIC food! Definitely get the Thai Wings, they’re GREAT! Pineapple fried rice was on point. Good stuff!

Diner Review №12

Thai dishes with a few options that were not the usual dishes. We enjoyed the variety.

Diner Review №13

I love the food!!!

Diner Review №14

Diner Review №15

Terrible service. It’s the third time I used this restaurant but so disappointing.

Diner Review №16

Food is consistently delicious. The service is very friendly and accommodating too!

Diner Review №17

A quirky, lively, energized spot with really large portions and a wide variety of options. Service was underwhelming (they seemed short staffed) but the servers who were there worked hard and deserved a good tip! Our party of 3 all loved their entrees.

Diner Review №18

Diner Review №19

Delicious food and friendly people! Came in on a Sunday afternoon. It was not a full house but we were seated quicky and was given an explanation of the menu items. The portions were huge and the flavor was amazing.

Diner Review №20

Diner Review №21

Delicious!! And kid friendly. Very friendly staff and excellent flavors. Would definitely come back!

Diner Review №22

Diner Review №23

The place was unusually deserted for a Friday night. The food we ordered was not up to the mark. The ambience and service were good.

Diner Review №24

Excellent food !

Diner Review №25

Diner Review №26

The food here is AMAZING! Very well seasoned. I could eat it every day;)

Diner Review №27

Great food, generous portions and excellent service.

Diner Review №28

We went to a show at DPAC and found this place close by for dinner after. We got seated relatively quickly after a short wait.
We waited a good 15min for the waitress to even notice we were there. We had waters from the hostess who sat us thankfully. We had SOOOOO much time to look over the menu because we waited, and waited and waited and waited .... After 15min a rushed server came by to take our order, no introduction or asked if we had any questions. I get it was a busy weekend... But why was there only 1 server? 1 server, 1 food runner, 1 hostess and 1 bartender. Staffing seems to be an issue after reading reviews while we waited 20min for the check, then another 30min for her to come pick it up. The food was good but the service was terrible. Our server took our order. Dropped off our food. The hostess gave us the check, then 30min later the server took our payment. We were never checked on, asked if we needed anything else, asked if everything tasted good or anything else you do as a server/waiter.
I've been to restaurants that had amazing food and mediocre service and I still went back. I won't go back, the food wasn't that good, but it was good for a non busy day. Just don't expect a warm welcome.

Diner Review №29

Delicious Thai food. Vibrant atmosphere.

Diner Review №30

The food is fresh, hot, and delicious! Highly recommend.

Diner Review №31

Best Thai in Durham! Finally a spot that does it all well. Definitely check it out.

Diner Review №32

I'm new to the area and the state. Grew up in Orlando, lived in Boston for a decade..... this is some of the BEST THAI I'VE EVER HAD!!!! I think I think about the pad see ew every day. A must try!!

Diner Review №33

The duck curry is exceptional. Also, I could eat the chicken wings every day.

Diner Review №34

Food is great. Some suggestions would be- mango sticky rice, shrimp basil spicy fried rice, crispy tofu

Diner Review №35

Second time coming here on a trip out of town. The food was delicious. Piping hot. Flavorful.
They did have a sign on the door saying they were short staffed. It showed! They had only one person working the entire room to take orders so you had to wait a while. Food came out and no one came back to check if everything was ok or if you needed anything else. They were just busy. We arrived at 5:15 right when they opened. They were at capacity by 6 on a Sunday. They need help bad! But I’ll always go back because the food is outstanding.

Diner Review №36

Diner Review №37

I think I'd going to have dreams about their bbq chicken and papaya salad. The thai seasoning on the chicken is phenomenal.

Great food. great atmosphere.

Diner Review №38

Diner Review №39

Love love love ThaiAngle! Always great food with great portions and affordable. It’s gotten busy at the weekends recently but the staff are always so friendly and attentive!

Diner Review №40

Portions are generous, the food is tasty, and the service is good. But this isn't Thai food.

Diner Review №41

Diner Review №42

Food was delicious and the lunch portions are big! The staff was very friendly and efficient. Loved the atmosphere as well!

Diner Review №43

Green curry was amazing!

Diner Review №44

Diner Review №45

We LOVE thaiangle. Have been multiple times since they first opened and have never been disappointed. Super accommodating and attentive to food allergies and dietary restrictions. Plus the service is amazing!! Definitely recommend.

Diner Review №46

Diner Review №47

Been here once and my experience was good, the portion was very large and spiced just right!

Diner Review №50

Really great service and atmosphere! Great to see that this new place is doing well, though the servers are super busy and it seems they’re pretty understaffed. We went on a Saturday night and it was packed, but we were seated in less than 10 minutes.

We really enjoyed the shumai and nam khao. As pad thai being my go-to at Thai restaurants, I was very disappointed and surprised by the tofu/veggie pad thai here, which really missed the mark for us.. It was extremely saucy, wet, and over seasoned while also not flavorful. it was just not for me and not what I had expected. Even though our server was so busy, she was really nice when we shared our feedback, and she let us know that the veggie pad thai can come out more wet and sometimes needs more time to soak up. However, for my taste, it was too sour and salty and also unlike pad thai I’ve had, with/without the wetness. I’m glad we tried this place and would maybe consider coming back trying different dishes given the great service, but most likely not, given the pad thai (also $18).

Diner Review №51

This is my favorite Thai restaurant, the food is amazing. Portions are big and prices are fair.

Diner Review №52

This is the best Thai food in Durham by a mile. Absolutely delicious. Such a nice variety of flavors. Located in former Dos Perros space. Casual atmosphere. Very friendly service. Nothing fancy just very flavorful food.

Diner Review №53

Had an amazing time with my family for a birthday dinner. I looked all day to find a place I felt would give us an amazing experience with their food and I found it in Durham with Thaiangle. The team work displayed during their dinner service was amazing, the freshness of the food with the preciseness of their heat levels was amazing. The love put into the food allowed myself and my loved ones to have an amazing time. Thanks to our server Kwee we were able to get the attention needed to have any need tended to.

Diner Review №54

This place is fantastic. Great food at a fair price. The service and atmosphere were great. Some more SE Asian beers to select from would be great… Tiger please!

As I closed my eyes and sipped my Singha, I was transported back to a rickety table in Phuket with the sound of scooters in the background. Will be returning with guests!

Diner Review №55

They didn’t have enough servers and the food was slow coming out but I promise it was worth the wait. I got the Thaingle trout. Possibly the best Thai dish I’ve ever had. Perfect. My husband got a Thai basil. My daughter a pad se ew. My son and his partner got a couple of other noodle dishes. We got the crab Rangoon, egg rolls and wings for apps. All outstandingly delicious. We will come again and again. Food was incredible!!!

Diner Review №56

Just went for the first time and loved it! Servers were very kind and considerate. I am gluten free and the menu was clearly marked for gluten free items and the servers asked multiple times to check for other allergies and made sure to double check ingredients with the kitchen. Red curry was plentiful and delicious! I will definitely be going back soon.

Diner Review №57

Diner Review №58

All of human history led up to the moment Thaiangle came into existence.

Diner Review №59

I just tried lunch takeout at Thai Angle for the first time. Loved it! The food was delicious and good quality. The restaurant is bright and clean. And the staff is so personable. I'll definitely be back!!

Diner Review №60

Food was pretty good! Very good friend rice, decent Thai Basil. Service was spotty. Online ordering was down and when you called, the phone went straight to voicemail. They only filled our water at the very end. People were getting up to fill their own waters at the bar. Cocktail came out quite late as well. Willing to try again for takeout (if possible).

Diner Review №61

Cute place and friendly service. The dishes we ordered were a bit disappointing since it wasn’t cooked like it should be. We had ordered the papaya salad (too sweet & saucy), chicken larb (ok but missing an ingredient), the pad Thai ended up being like a stir fry noodle with the cauliflower & carrots (not the typical pad Thai) and the drunken noodle was lacking some spice. :(

Diner Review №62

Amazing! The duck curry is perfect and just enough heat. (We ordered it medium). The eggplant with tofu was the best I've ever had.
Good selection of local and Asian beers and the house saki was excellent.
Our second time there and will return again and again.

Diner Review №63

BEST THAI FOOD IN NC! I just live far away but it is worth the drive. It gets busy after the first hour which is a good sign. My favorite is the pad see ew, the taste is so different from other places I had. I also love the sangria drink which I also requested to make sweet and they absolutely perfect it for me! I devoured that!! Big thanks to Angela, Tay, the chefs and the other staffs! I will be coming back soon. MORE THAN 5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Diner Review №64

OMG best Thai restaurant in the area. The food was incredible and the service was top notch (shout out to Angela). Just get lost in thought dreaming about their curries.

Diner Review №65

Best Khao Soi I’ve ever had. My partner had tofu pad Thai and said it was also the best. Lovely ambiance and staff too!

Diner Review №66

Thai Basil was the best I've ever had. Pad Thai was sweet, salty and sour. Chicken and beef tasted fresh and delicious.

And the higher heat levels are *actually hot.*

10/10

Diner Review №67

Great food!

Diner Review №68

This was my first visit to Thaiangle and I would rate this restaurant as the ABSOLUTE LY BEST THAI RESTAURANT IN DURHAM NC! The customer service from the waitress and the bartender was AMAZING! If you visit the establishment, please try the Golden Margarita…Trust Me…it is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING (and make sure Daniel the bartender makes it for you). 👌🏾 The food was VERY DELICIOUS!
I will definitely spread the word to family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors….And I will definitely be back!! Keep up the amazing work Thaiangle!!!! 👍🏾

Diner Review №69

#BullCity, please support Thaiangle Restaurant. My server, Daniel, was excellent, and the other two servers who assisted had perfect customer service. Last, I had the Margarita and Long Island Ice Tea, and it was a Game-Changer!!! I will come back!

Diner Review №70

Excellent food and service. Highly recommend the cashew chicken, the panang curry, and the pad see ew.

Diner Review №71

Best Thai in Durham

Diner Review №72

Every bite is a testament to the chef's skill and creativity, ensuring a memorable dining experience. The generous portion sizes are a delightful surprise, guaranteeing that you’ll leave feeling fully satisfied.

What truly elevates the experience at ThaiAngle is the service. Our server, Angela, was a standout. Her attentiveness was unparalleled; she seemed to anticipate our needs before we even voiced them. Angela's knowledgeable recommendations and friendly demeanor made our meal even more enjoyable. It’s clear that she takes pride in her role and in making every guest feel special.

In summary, ThaiAngle is a must-visit for anyone who values exceptional food and service. With Angela leading the way, you’re guaranteed a top-notch experience from start to finish. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a truly delightful dining experience!

Diner Review №74

Diner Review №75

Great food and big portions!

Diner Review №76

The Thai food here was way too sweet. I had the papaya salad and the khao soi, and both were loaded with sugar to the point of sweetness being the predominant flavor, which isn't supposed to be the case. Also, the whole restaurant was really understaffed and the servers who were there seemed really stressed out. They apologized and thanked us for our patience, and I think they were doing a great job given the situation, but management really needs to just hire more people.

Diner Review №77

We are here on Saturday and the food was okay, but just okay. Everything was very sweet, which might just be a southern thing, but certainly sweeter than Thai restaurants I’ve eaten at in New York. The service was pretty atrocious. They were clearly understaffed and doing their best, and everyone was very friendly, but the whole experience still took over an hour and a half to get five entrees and a papaya salad to share. This was during freshman move in weekend at Duke, so maybe they were busier than usual.

Diner Review №78

If I could give ten stars…10/10 service and the best Thai food I’ve had in Durham ! The sweetest and best staff ever.

The staff helpfully informed me that their peak time is usually 7pm. Unfortunately I ran into peak time and they were so nice and accommodating to walk ins. We ended taking the bar and had an amazing experience on a busy night. I can’t wait to be back

Really wish more reviews would give this amazing team and restaurant more credit to how gracious and above and beyond they went to serve everyone and deliver an all around incredible customer experience.

Diner Review №79

Seems I must have had a very different dining experience than the other reviewers.

7:30 reservation. Seated right away but over 30 minutes before a server came to our table. When they arrived we were rushed to order everything all at once. Another 45+ minutes with no food, despite having ordered appetizers.

They presented us with a cocktail menu and had cocktail specials on a chalkboard, but after we started ordering we were told the bartender hadn’t come to work?!?

One of our appetizers never arrived.

As per another reviewer, the duck entree is poorly described. Crispy, crunchy, flavorless with very little actual meat. Definitely no honey glaze.

Appreciate their attention to dietary restrictions but even items that are marked as GF, when we ordered them, we were told they needed significant modifications to make them GF.

I think the food (other than the duck) was pretty good, but it was hard to enjoy after waiting over an hour and having such poor service.

I hope they get themselves in better shape. I worry otherwise this place won’t make it. Don’t think I’ll be back.

Diner Review №80

The spicy Thai basil fried rice was delicious. I got medium. It was smoking hot. I will get mild next time, but it was delicious. Yum Yum. It was made with fried tofu and plenty of vegetables. Great for vegans.no eggs

Diner Review №81

The food was way too sweet.. Wouldnt go again.

Diner Review №82

We arrived a few minutes after they closed for lunch after a long bike ride and they offered to serve us anyway.

The food was delicious and the service so friendly. Highly recommended!

Diner Review №83

We didn’t see a server for 20 minutes, and the restaurant was only half full on a Friday. We’ve heard good things about the food so we’ll try to come back on a weeknight or get takeout, but we got up and left before ordering because the service was so poor.

Diner Review №84

Diner Review №85

I absolutely love this place. Came here twice within two days. Great food and great service!

Diner Review №86

Diner Review №87

The food is very good and I would give this place a 5 star if they offered online ordering. Most of my office agrees. Working downtown, people can't always sit and wait for food with a 30-min or less break. We asked the staff once and they just shrugged at us.

Diner Review №88

Ordered this for pickup, heard from friends and on r/BullCity that this was a great spot, and the Massaman Curry did not disappoint! We also had the tofu fresh rolls which didn't have much flavor (no herbs like mint or basil, which I'm used to with this dish, but maybe they prefer to focus on other ingredients). Wait time was off, it seemed like they were busy (they said it would be a 20-30 min wait till pickup; I budgeted more time, arriving an hour later instead and it still wasn't ready). The woman on the phone was SUPER helpful with finding gluten free options! We will definitely be trying this again and are hopeful that the other entrees are as good as the massaman!

Diner Review №89

Super lovely new Thai restaurant. The food was DELICIOUS and everyone was super nice especially the Manager Daniel.

Diner Review №90

Food is great and portion size is huge. Service is a bit hectic during dinner. I ordered the Puff Crab, their version of Crab Rangoon but the filling also has curry powder in it. Nicely spiced (but not spicy) and crunchy. For dinner, I ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken and tofu (a very reasonable +$2 surcharge for the tofu). The noodles are tasty and well seasoned. I'll definitely be back to try other dishes.

Diner Review №91

Came to dinner there on a Saturday night and it was sufficiently busy. I loved how the sign on the door says they make their food fresh so it may be a wait. That is an honest plus for me. I got the chicken pad Thai and my friend got the pad see ew. Both were delicious and at least two portions size. The restaurant is really nice size and great decor. Really enjoyed my time here!

Diner Review №92

The food was fresh, delicious, and cooked perfectly. And the portions are very generous! The people were super nice as well. I highly recommend the soft shell crab!

Diner Review №93

Diner Review №94

Diner Review №95

Absolutely delicious food! The soups are really good and everything is just fresh, the spicy seafood dish is the best.!!!! Love it

Diner Review №96

Cool space and vibe. The server had a great disposition, but it did take a good bit of time to receive our food. And very long wait on the check. The food was alright, but not quite up to par. One dish that was supposed to be at a minimal spice level came out incredibly spicy. The other that was supposed to be more spicy, lacked. Maybe the order was transposed, but we ended up switching dishes, which was ok. Just not quite what either of us wanted, but we didn't want to wait another 30+ minutes for the food to be done to our liking as we were very hungry by then.

Diner Review №97

Best Thai food in the triangle hands down. I’ve been searching for so long and I’m so glad this place opened.

Diner Review №98

They have THE BEST pad thai in town.

Diner Review №99

Diner Review №100

We absolutely love this place! Staff is so kind and friendly. Food is delicious and the grandkids love the Gyoza appetizers!
This is the place for Thai in Durham for our family and our neighbors.
If your are coming down for a DPAC show it is a short and comfortable walk.
Thanks for being great Thaiangle and keep up the great work!

Diner Review №101

I was so excited to see praram on the menu here. It's my fav dish and since I moved to NC two years ago it's been really hard to find. This was a disappointment however. Barely any peanut sauce which is the whole joy of the dish, and it had bell peppers, which weren't listed on the menu and I'm allergic to. For $18 I really had higher hopes and now I'm just sad. It'd be easier for me to fly back home than keep looking around Durham for someone who can get this dish right. Every single Thai restaurant where I lived prepared this to perfection.

Diner Review №102

Diner Review №103

Delicious food! Portions are filling. Green curry is very well made, flavors are great. All the staff are attentive and nice! Will be coming back. And thank you for making my mixed drink (Thai coffee mixed with Thai ice tea) definitely recommend putting this on your menu 😀😀😀

Diner Review №104

Wow, I loved this restaurant! Firstly, the staff was so kind, attentive and friendly, even though they only had 3 people working and it was busy! We went in for lunch, right when they opened at 11:30.

The lunch specials menu is really good with lots of options, and gluten free options as well if you have dietary restrictions. We tried the red curry and the pad thai and we cleared our plates! The portions were really good as well, just enough to make me full but not too much where I feel lethargic.

Prices were good, I spent $18 for a hefty portion of red curry, a starter salad, and some fried wontons on the side. I also tried the mango juice and that was really delicious and fresh. This is honestly one of the best restaurants in downtown Durham, based on prices, flavor, and service!!

I will definitely be a repeat customer. I'm already craving it again! 😁

Diner Review №105

Wow! Although I'm sorry to see Dos Perros close, Thaiangle is a great restaurant to take this space. The space is essentially the same with some rearrangement in furniture and decor. The bar remains in the front room with the dining room and pass through window in the main room. Service is fast and friendly. Staff are quite knowledgeable about their menu. Food is delicious and they use some great ingredients including lemongrass and Kaffir lime leaves! The salmon in banana leaves was amazing and apparently so was the shrimp Thai basil. Loved the green papaya salad and the mango with sticky rice was a great way to finish the meal. We'll definitely be back!

Diner Review №106

This food is consistently delicious, and the staff is so kind and attentive! Highly recommend the drunken noodles and massaman curry but you cannot go wrong.

Diner Review №107

A Great Place to Eat!!! You went be disappointed.

Diner Review №108

Came on a Wednesday evening, pretty quiet at this time (5:40pm) but they were doing a consistent takeout business.

Food was excellent and portions were hefty considering the price. Certain dishes are finished at different spice levels. I chose medium and my partner chose hot (the highest was extra spicy, two higher than hot). I personally love heat in my food and wished I had gotten the hot over the medium. The dishes come with a small side serving of rice but you can easily and cheaply order extra sides (and types) of rice.

Service was very quick to come out and everything was delicious. We ordered the shumai dumplings (4 pieces), massaman curry, and twin rivers salmon. For most of the entries they let you choose your protein and tofu dishes are served with additional vegetables. We can’t wait to come back and try more dishes.

While we didn’t partake, there is a sizable bar and bar area that takes up half the building. 10/10 will come back here 💜💜

Diner Review №109

This place is soooo good! And reasonable prices especially for lunch!

Diner Review №110

Excellent Thai food with relaxed atmosphere and attentive staff. I had Phad Thai, a dish I use when comparing Thai restaurants here, Seattle, and elsewhere. This restaurant is very good, and I recommend it.

Diner Review №111

Diner Review №112

It's a nice, central restaurant with a good choice of food. Generous portions. Attentive service. However, the food was not authentic thai and was rather bland for our taste.

Diner Review №113

Diner Review №114

We dined with Thaiangle 4 times and every visit was very enjoyable. Service was pleasant and efficient. We sat at the high top tables today and it was much more chill than the main dining room. I'm saving the best for last, the food has abundant fresh vegetables and flavors and without doubt the best Thai that we've had in Durham!

Diner Review №115

Loved this place a lot! Good beer, delicious Pad See Ewe (though def on the saltier side), they had a little spice rack if you wanted extra heat, and very kind, hardworking, attentive servers. Positive experience

Diner Review №119

Picture of my crispy duck meal that was supposed to be “honey glazed” based off the menu. They acknowledged that “honey glazed” was a mistake when I called it out and gave me 30% off. I wish they had described it as deep-fried, I won’t have ordered it otherwise. In addition, it gave me an upset stomach.

Diner Review №120

First time checking this new addition to Durham before a show at DPAC and very impressed. Staff very attentive, shocked how big the portions are, and everything we ordered came quick and tasted amazing. Looking forward to coming back!

Diner Review №121

One of the best restaurants in downtown Durham, and they’ll actually make it spicy!

I really wish they would enable online ordering though, either through their website or with DoorDash pickup.

Diner Review №122

A quaint and quiet Thai restaurant that definitely seasons the food. I recommend going with a level down from your expectation of spice. Portions are great, drinks are a bit strong, food is flavorful, and the whole restaurant is a great addition to the Durham food scene!

Diner Review №123

Wow such a welcome addition to Durham. There’s finally good Thai food without having to drive to Cary.

Diner Review №124

Insanely great Thai food! Best in Durham!

Diner Review №125

Awesome place. Love the people, food and atmosphere!!!

Diner Review №126

Loved it. Great food and impeccable service. Give it a try

Diner Review №127

Diner Review №128

Best Thai I’ve ever eaten in Durham! We got takeout and tried the drunken noodles and yellow curry - both 10/10, no notes. Ordering and picking up was an easy and straightforward process, and the food was still piping hot when we got it home. Great flavor, and great place for spice lovers - mild was plenty spicy for me!

Diner Review №129

Incredible Thai food!!!!! We had the pad Thai, Khao Soi, pineapple fried rice, and vegetable spring rolls and all were super flavorful and very authentic tasting. Will be back!

Diner Review №130

Overall Rating: 7.1/10
The restaurant impresses with its unique, culturally enriched interior and excellent service, though the pricing felt steep relative to the portions and some dish executions.

Atmosphere: 7.9/10
The well-designed and spacious layout, enriched with cultural elements, creates a pleasant dining environment. The thoughtful separation of the bar and dining areas contributes to a comfortable atmosphere, making it a delightful place to dine.

Service: 7.1/10
Service was a high point with the bartender and waitress displaying exceptional attentiveness. Their proactive approach in pouring water, swiftly bringing food, and regularly checking up ensured a seamless dining experience.

Food:

Puffer Crab Wonton: 7.2/10
These wontons are notable for their unique incorporation of curry, delivering a bold flavor that complements the extremely crispy and flaky texture, making them a standout appetizer.

Pineapple Fried Rice: 6.1/10
While fresh, the dish was somewhat bland and dry. Enhancements in seasoning and perhaps a more robust sauce could elevate this dish to match the freshness of its ingredients.

Meatball Soup: 7.9/10
The soup excelled with a bold broth that was flavorful and rich, paired with tasteful meatballs that were well-seasoned and hearty, providing a satisfying and comforting dish.

Pork Pad Thai: 7.7
Described as having fresh noodles and good-quality, tasty pork. The unique peanut crumbs added a pleasing visual and textural contrast, enhancing the overall appeal of the dish.

Value: 5.1/10
Despite the high quality and pleasant dining experience, the pricing was higher compared to similar venues, particularly noted during weekends when lunch specials were unavailable. This aspect made the meal feel less value-for-money given the quantity of food provided.

Pokémon Stops/Gyms: There are 5 PokéStops nearby, adding an extra layer of appeal for diners who are also Pokémon Go players.

Diner Review №131

Seriously good. Big portions. Big spice. Big flavor.

Diner Review №132

The Beef Salad and Papaya salad are both amazing, and honestly, so is everything else on their menu. This is the only Thai place eat now. I live in Raleigh so I'll order lunch takeout and take it home for dinner sometimes. It's so good.

Diner Review №133

Thaiangle in Durham is definitely one of the top spots downtown! Their lunch specials have been a favorite among me and my coworkers ever since they opened. The portion sizes are generous, consistently leaving me satisfied, and the flavor of their dishes ranks among the best I've ever tasted. Angela, our waitress, is always fantastic, greeting us with a warm smile every time. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Diner Review №134

Best Thai in the area!

Diner Review №135

Awesome Thai food and great service. I highly recommend, it’s the best Thai in Durham!!! 5⭐️

Diner Review №136

Thaiangle is a fantastic restaurant! This immediately was added to our weekly repertoire (sometimes more often). As a nearby neighbor of theirs, our company is likely to be frequent patrons here for the foreseeable future.

The food is consistently great, the portions are plentiful, and the staff are friendly and fantastic (Shout out to Angela!)

Diner Review №137

Lovely servers, quick service and fantastic food. We had gyozas, then drunken noodles and pad si ew, all hot and fresh and delicious. They asked how spicy I wanted my noodles and I asked for medium - it was just enough to have some kick, loved the basil in there too. Exactly what we were hoping for after traveling all day. They offered us a box for what I couldn’t manage and we’d have loved to take it with us for later if we hadn’t been staying in a hotel. Good value and we would definitely go back.

The food was great (bomb Pad Thai)! The staff are nice people! I'm not sure whether they are short-staffed or training new people, but we were there over 10 minutes before we were first acknowledged, 20 before we were seated, the table had noodles on it even after we asked for them to re-clean it. Twice another table's order was brought to us. The Crispy Duck seems overpriced considering how little meat is on it.

We had just visited the Duke Botanical Gardens and saw Thaiangle Restaurant was nearby for a late lunch/early dinner. They had just opened at 5pm, so we were the first customers, but it wasn't long before the place started to fill up. I had seen the high rating, so wanted to give this restaurant a try - and it definitely delivered. It seemed like a new restaurant (pristine inside, nicely decorated, and clean), and it was amply staffed. We had Pad See Ew and an Eggplant in bean sauce dish, spring rolls as an appetizer. Everything was well prepared, full of vegetables, and the food came out piping hot and was very fresh/flavorful. I'm a connoisseur of spicy food, so went for the spiciest level for my eggplant (honestly, I could still go spicier, but it was sufficient). I was very happy with the portions too - nice to have leftovers given food prices these days. All the staff were friendly and attentive. I really hope your restaurant will maintain this level of quality - and if you do so, I cannot see any reason why you wouldn't be one of the most popular Thai restaurants in the region. We will return, and I recommend to others.

personally a bit overpriced for the food… the spiciest level was not a high spice (might have been the chef that night too). The Thai tea cocktail tasted mostly like alcohol and barely like the Thai tea flavor

It was good, we loved the pineapple fried rice and the tom yum soup. It was a lot of soup which I love! the negatives were that we ordered a drink that was not good at all (we sent it back, it was taken off the bill so thank you) and the service was stretched a little thin. Regardless, I will definitely be back and hope to give them 5 stars ✨

Diner Review №143

The drunken noodles were fantastic! So much flavor. I hope they have Pho soon! Definitely will be back.

Food was fine but literally took 2 hours to get our food.

Diner Review №146

My new favorite spot! I’ve had the Nam Khao Tod twice now and it’s wonderful. Staff are warm and the food is hard to beat. Would definitely recommend!

Diner Review №147

Service was outstanding!!! The food was absolutely amazing!! The Tom Yum Shrimp Soup was bursting with flavor! The drunken noodle was excellent.

Diner Review №148

Tom Ka was good. Ordered Ginger Mushroom Tofu entree with spice level hot. The entree was so sweet I couldn't eat it. Sweet like panda express. Server was excellent and had another prepared without all the sugar to go. The tofu and excellent range of veggies were ok. There was no heat except for a smattering of black pepper on top. Will try again in case this was just an off day since all other reviews rave about the food.

Diner Review №149

Ate there on a drizzly Friday night. Friendly and attentive staff, amazing food, and abundant options for vegetarians. After we ordered, they double-checked whether eggs were OK in a noodle dish, and they kindly made a veggie broth for vegetarian Tom Kha. Serving sizes were overly ample. I was there with a friend, but if I were there alone, I would have appreciated some smaller (and less expensive) options--although the food remains delicious as re-heated leftovers.

Diner Review №153

This might be the new best Thai restaurant in Durham!!!

Diner Review №154

Can't overstate how glad I am to finally have good Thai around here. The green curry had a bright fragrance, drunken noodles were great, our papaya salad and beef appetizer were all fantastic, the spice level (medium) was just right, and the portions were great. Couldn't really fault anything other than the time it took to get our food, but they were packed. This will definitely become a new regular.

Delicious Thai food — the best in the Triangle! (Or should I say ThaiAngle 😉)

Highly recommend, incredible food and a beautiful atmosphere with a great selection of Thai beer, wine, and cocktails.

Fresh! Fresh! Fresh! The ingredients in my dish were screaming "fresh!" The spices were great in my level one spiciness entrée. The food was not spicy merely for hotness sake, the spices were an experience. The dining room was darling and bright and the service was terrific!

Diner Review №162

Had dinner here before a show at DPAC and it was delicious. I had yellow curry with chicken medium spice and it was just perfect. My friend had drunken noodles with shrimp which she raved about. A perfect addition to downtown and walking distance to see a show.

Recently opened -- 3 weeks. Food was delicious! Everyone enjoyed their dishes. Generous portions. Friendly staff. Easy, comfortable atmosphere. Definitely recommend a try! We will go back there for sure.

Delicious Pad Thai

Diner Review №166

Thaiangle is the best thai of the triangle!

Really good food made by incredible chefs! You can really tell that they prepare everything with care.

Diner Review №167

Nice addition to the area. I got lunch takeout and was very happy with the food. The ginger mushroom tofu actually did contain all the vegetables listed, they were cooked well, and the tofu was in satisfyingly firm little fried cubes. The portion was large enough to have leftovers for another lunch.

Diner Review №168

Best/most authentic Thai I have had in NC. The tom yum, and khao soi were excellent.

Diner Review №169

I’ve been looking for my Thai “home” in Durham, and my inaugural visit definitely delivered. A delicious Pad See Ew for my initial tasting - with a great balance of veggies and noodles. Looking forward to more meals ahead. Thanks to Daniel at the bar for a warm welcome.

Diner Review №170

By far some of the most authentic Thai flavors I have had in a while! The khan soi was not available yet which I really wanted to try as it is hard to find at most places. Instead I got the drunken noodles Thai hot and it was definitely the right spice level and great flavor. Also the portion size and amount of protein was great definitely will be back.

So tasty and filling! Good service. Terrific food. Beautiful presentation. Cute spot. Loved it. We'll be back!

Diner Review №173

Pad Thai flavors were excellent, but the pork was extremely overcooked and the texture suffered. I would go again, just getting tofu with that dish to avoid the potential pitfall. They do legit Thai spice levels, medium was plenty for me!

Diner Review №174

We had an excellent meal and dining experience at Thaiangle. Firstly, let me say that Durham has sorely been missing a decent, let alone great, Thai restaurant for as long as we've lived here (since 2008). We ordered three dishes - starting with a papaya salad. A simple salad, but easy to mess up if using overly ripe or precut papaya. They offer 4 levels of spice on most of their dishes (mild to very hot). We went mild on the salad to gauge whether it was a Thai mild or US mild. They nailed the papaya and the dressing was more of a Thai mild (i.e., the pepper was present, but the heat was like a wave from a friendly pedestrian - pleasant but floating). For mains, my wife ordered the broccoli and mushrooms with chicken (no mushrooms and no heat level) - pictured. I ordered the Thai basil with chicken (medium heat), again to gauge freshness and heat. The portion was more than enough for two meals (and I'm a big guy), the vegetables were fresh and perfectly cooked, the chicken was plentiful, and the sauce was on point (i.e., brightly flavored with enough heat to warm my mouth and stomach without causing any sweat).

We will definitely be going back to try out the curries and some of those seafood chef specials!

Amazing culinary experience. My coworker and I stopped in for a quick lunch We picked the right spot!!
. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was amazing. The waitresswaa gracious, efficient and very hospitable. She gave me a Thai history lesson and explained each piece of the beautiful artwork displayed.

I eat keto/low carb and the waitress consulted with the chef to ensure no sugar and low carb preparation of my dishes.
He succeeded. The food arrived quickly and was clearly fresh. The shrimp was still sizzling.
The prices are very reasonable. We both had hearty portions for a little over 30 dollars combined (I owed him lunch!!)

My experience
Atmosphere 5
Service 5+
Food 5++

I highly recommend this amazing downtown spot.

New restaurant from the former owner of Cham Thai. Best Thai food in the Triangle. Good portions and amazing taste. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options.

Diner Review №177

Refreshingly authentic thai in Durham! Their spice scale is actually accurate. Anywhere else hot is mild and mild is bland. Here hot has spice and flavor and the food is incredibly delicious. Wonderfully kind staff as well. My son loves fish sauce.

My first visit was opening day. A few minor kinks are expected. Staff are kind and attentive. The food was delicious. I had my favorite dish, Drunken Noodles. It came with a small side salad of lettuce drizzled with honey mustard. Ordered the dish medium spicy, and it was perfect. Definitely recommend this beautiful spot.
