Thai Ramen Noodle restaurant in the Durham area. Great atmosphere for a light lunch or romantic dinner.
Very much glad I finally gave them a try. I came here to get some wonton soup for my son. It made him feel alot better. I ordered steamed pork dumplings and edemame. Very yummmmmmy! They also have alot of vegetarian options. Let your server know about your dietary restrictions. I feel like this place cares about making customers happy.
Edit: That’s exactly how the call happened. Your employee went to you directly, asked for clarification, and then handed you the phone. At no point did I claim to know how traditional mango sticky rice is supposed to be—I’m not Thai, nor would I ever presume to tell a Thai restaurant how to run its business. Perhaps you misunderstood because I mentioned that your restaurant used to include the white sauce (whoever prepped my order in the past). All I said was that the mango was bruised, and your immediate response was, “I cut the mangoes; they were not bruised," while sassing me throughout the call. I felt like I was being attacked just for reporting the quality of the order, which was both disappointing and unnecessary. A simple “Hey, sorry about that” would have been fine. I even stayed on the phone a little longer because I was in disbelief at how the conversation escalated.
Hey Thomas, your food is genuinely great—I love Noodle 501, and I literally recommend it to everyone I know. I finished it even without the cream—but I hope you have a blessed night. All I wanted was to give you feedback.
--------
On 1/22, I ordered mango sticky rice from this restaurant via UberEats, and the mango was bruised. When I called to address it, Thomas, the general manager, answered and was immediately defensive, saying he had prepared and cut the mango himself. I mentioned that in previous orders, the dish came with a white sauce or cream on top, but he sassed back, insisting it didn’t and said I might be referring to whipped cream, which they stopped including because it melts. His tone was rude, lacked empathy, and was unnecessarily dismissive.
At one point, he said, "Uhm, we’re trying to close for the night, and you’re trying to tell us how to run the business and how my recipe is," which was completely uncalled for. I clarified that I wasn’t criticizing his business or recipe—I was simply sharing my past experience. It’s incredibly disappointing because I’ve been a loyal customer and love their food, but his defensive attitude, lack of professionalism, and rude remarks made the situation unnecessarily upsetting.
This noodle place is a gem! We've been coming here regularly and they never disappoint. Their noodle soups are simply delicious - I always go for the coconut soup with shrimp and it's absolutely divine. The broth is rich and flavorful, the shrimp perfectly cooked, and the noodles have just the right texture. Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves a good noodle soup!
Good food but bad amount of meat for the price & bad customer service. We've been here a few times but will never return again. My wife and I ordered red curry with beef & green curry with chicken, and while both taste good with the vermicelli noodles, the amount of meat for the beef is too little for a $19 dish. Chicken had more meat for slightly less price but there are better Thai restaurants that offer more value (meat) for less price.
Ambiance is okay: nice anime art around, but the young Asian waiter's customer service was not good. He did not offer to refill our water glasses, unfriendly attitude as if he doesn't want to be there.
Food was amazing. A must visit. The service was great, staff was attentive, quick, and nice. Our food was served HOT so you know how fresh it came out. The roti (so flaky so warm so delicious) and red curry as well as the summer rolls were amazing!! Tom Yum soup and Tom Yum ramen were also, so fresh served hot spicy salty sour/sweet (we asked for levels 3 & 4) truly an amazing meal. Environment was also were nice for a great sit down spot. Definitely a returning customer!
The restaurant is pretty cute inside with the wall murals, and it is clearly very "woke" giving you gluten-free options and letting you know about vegetarian options, etc. The tiny metal chairs could be improved. Stylish but uncomfortable to perch on for an extended period.
The coconut soup tasted good, but somehow I got mad heartburn when I got home. There was plenty of chicken inside of the large cup. The noodles were okay...nothing to write home about. My pad thai was a bit salty and lacked the essence of "pad thai" that I was craving. The summer roll was underwhelming. There was only one shrimp inside my half and I pretty much felt like a rabbit chewing on lettuce.
My partner enjoyed her drunken noodles. I tried them and they were decidedly better than the pad thai, which was "fine." I cannot describe what was missing, but I've had better elsewhere.

Food is full of flavor and quick service! My favorites are pad se ew and drunken noodle.
Had the pad Thai and spring rolls. The pad Thai was great - just what I was craving. Probably will be back soon to t
ry the green curry. A nice touch is being able to specify the spiciness level - I chose "hot" which had a hint of spice but not that punch you in the face. I would likely try the next level, Thai hot, next time as I really enjoy a bit more heat to my Thai food
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Noodle 501 is an absolute gem! The food was incredible—every bite bursting with flavor, and the portions were generous enough to leave you completely satisfied. Thomas, the owner and our server, truly made the experience unforgettable with his warm hospitality and attention to detail. You can tell the chef takes pride in every dish and genuinely cares about the customers. This place is a must-visit! 10/10, can’t wait to come back!
Thomas, the GM, is extremely helpful with my daughter's allergies! The food is delicious and well cooked. We love this place!
Great customer service, food was awesome and the atmosphere was wonderful
This restaurant was wonderful. They custom made our meal and dis it all with a smile. We were 3 disabilities, blind, deaf, and on oxygen. The owner himself came out to assist our needs. Would highly recommend.
edit: they'd rather block me on Facebook for my review, vs doing better.
I came here at 8:37 to place an order to go. Was told they’re closed even though they close at 9p per their sign. Never returning and ensuring no one else goes.
EDIT: below someone said I was outside of the 20 min window when I arrived at 8:37. I wasn’t. Thanks tho.
Excellent miso ramen- the broth was flavorful and it exceeded my expectations.
Tried it twice to give a fair assessment but both times i was disappointed. The heat levels aren't accurate (weaker then lead to believe) i got a "hot" or level 3 and i felt like it was a zero.
Both soups lacking in flavor and the drunken noodles where not the wide noodles I'm used to. I won't go back.
In response to the reply about my review, I left out that there were shrimp shells in the soup that was an unpleasant, chewy surprise, and the shrimp were small, low quality with the texture of rubber.
One thing i do agree with the owners reply is I would be better off cooking at home than overpaying for mediocre food at this establishment a third time.
They cannot adjust for the noodles firmnesses so you get almost mushy noodles.
Ordered a vegetarian dish and got back to the hotel and found it was chicken instead. Staff made the situation right and were understanding once they assured I was not one of those people who just try to get free food. Because we know those people are out here complicating the industry for us all. I live in FL, where asian food is in surplus, && I normally order medium. this medium was a little hotter than im used too but tasted great. just sharing for relativity. flavor, quality, and management were all great. Thanks guys <3
The food at Noodle 501 is truly of superior quality. The colors and taste indicate that this is real, fresh, and healthy food. I’ve never had cuisine this good at this price or at any price—and I’ve lived in NYC, CA, Paris, etc. Also just friendly people and responsive, prompt service. We will definitely be coming back to this hidden gem!
Simple good food. I often order the Drunken Noodle with double tofu. Feels like the only Asian restaurant with good macros for my needs
As a half-Thai who is disappointed with just about every Thai restaurant I encounter, this place is absolutely wonderful. Truly Thai flavors and probably the most authentic Thai food I've had at a restaurant in 10+ years. Flavors are wonderful and on point, portions are generous, and the service has been great. So happy to have stumbled across this place and can't wait to try more of their dishes.
Food quality makes this worth the trip.
Amazing, excellent, fresh!
Calling all crab rangoon lovers, especially if you miss the ones from New England, come here!
I tried this place through Grubhub. I ordered Yellow Curry #2 heat level, Pad Thai, and Roti & curry. The yellow curry is probably one of the best things i have ever eaten. I love how the crispy noodles come on the side, so you add as you wish.Everything was fabulous! The packaging and portion size are spot on for my new favorite Friday night food delivery. I'm staring at my phone until they open at 5:15 to order again tonight!
Update:
The broth hasn't been as flavorful the last 3 times we've had it ordered to-go!
We have to visit and dine in to confirm if dinning in and to-go makes a difference (however there have been occasions where the broth was just as delicious to-go)...
Shrimp tempura and Thai iced tea 10/10
We love this ramen spot! It's so delish!
The customer service is always amazing. Thank you to the friendly front desk guy- he's the best !!
His name is Han 🤗!!
What a genuiningly excellent place to get good food.
Clean, polite, very traditional. We buy 2 meals each for the next day.
Their cooking is amazing, and we are food snobs.
$15-16 a meal. Don't miss out on this humble , delicious restaurant. Get it to go!
What a gem of a restaurant. My sister got gluten free+mild, I got regular Udon+Thai hot. Flavor, heat, service all absolutely fantastic. Restaurant is clean. Highly recommend.
My wife and I went here on a Friday night. The place was full and there was only one person working the tables and the front counter. We ordered an appetizer and ramen dishes, waited 30 minutes, and they came and told us they were out of ramen. They offered to fix us some of their other options, but I think it is reasonable to expect noodles from a place called Noodle 501. We decided to leave since we did not receive our appetizer yet, but when we did the server told us the order was already in for the appetizer. I was not going to pay for an appetizer that I hadn't even received yet AND when we were going to go across the street to Tasu Noodle Bar to start dinner somewhere else. The waiter was insistent that I pay for the appetizer, but I repeatedly said I would not... to the point it was uncomfortable. I offered to pay for the coke that I had, but even then, he mentioned it was a $5.00 minimum and I would need to buy something else. I ended up buying two more coke cans for $6.00. I did not receive a single apology for the inconvenience and it felt like I was the one trying to make things right. I would have given this place another shot if they would have offered something to make things right (a free coke, half-priced appetizer, etc.), but that will not happen now. The service is terrible and two more people ended up leaving with similar issues while I was there.
By far our favorite place to eat in the area! We drive 30 minutes just for the drunken noodles, crab rangoons, and the best Thai tea we’ve ever had. The staff is always friendly and the owners are even better!
My wife and I absolutely love this place and is our favorite noodle spot in the triangle. The owners are great people and serve the best drunken noodle we’ve ever had. They have also become our standard for Thai tea and crab rangoons that we compare other restaurants to.
Service was friendly and the atmosphere was spectacular. I highly recommend if you are in the area.
The squid/calamari was inedible, very chewy and tough,. I got it with the drunken noodles which were salty, but not awful. Server did not check to see if food was ok until everybody else had finished and rushed off before I could say anything. I could choose from a few noodle dishes that did not have MSG. All other dishes contained MSG.
Delicious Best Coconut soup I've had!
The food is delicious- EVERY time my son gets the pho beef noodle soup and tempura shrimp and my daughter gets the summer rolls and the vegetable soup- she says she craves that flavor ! Great selection of appetizers and of course many many different noodle dishes. We adore the owners. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive.
Went here for the first time this evening and loved it! Excellent food and service. My new go to for noodles and mango sticky rice yum yum
Great place for quality and spice. I had the beef pho at a level 3 and it was nicely spicy and extremely enjoyable. I'm a heat fan and i think a 3 was the right level to have a nice experience. If you like to push your limits, 4 and 5 here will do that! The food was delivered quickly and it was full of flavor. I would highly recommend stopping by for a wonderful meal here.
Nothing to impress
The restaurant is pretty cute inside with the wall murals, and it is clearly very "woke" giving you gluten-free options and letting you know about vegetarian options, etc. The tiny metal chairs could be improved. Stylish but uncomfortable to perch on for an extended period.

This place is fantastic! I was here on business ,took a break for some Thai food and this place did not disappoint! I ordered the crispy spring rolls, edamame, and Tom yum gai… all were amazing! Friendly service too!
Our favorite Thai restaurant! Awesome food and service.
Visiting town, had an amazing thai food. Spice level 3 is hot enough. Don't go above that. Good portion size. Hot steaming food, Pad Thai, Drunken noodles, Yellow curry noodle bowl and soup - all were really good.
I love this place so much! The best pad see ew I have been able to find in this area. Highly recommend! The service is always wonderful, too. Thomas was our server this time, and he was great.
Amazing experience and superb food. I got the Tonkotsu Ramen: Broth was incredibly rich, pork was juicy and had an amazing texture, and the overall dish was by far the best ramen I’ve had in the triangle thus far. I am not a food reviewer though, so don’t take it as gospel 😅
The staff were amazing, great service, great vibes!
A must-visit :)
Excellent Food and Staff.
Drunken noodles with beef was spot on! Don't forget to check out the spice level on the wall. I got the medium and it is very accurate, yet flavorful 🤧😍 Staff were friendly, attentive and always had a smile. Highly recommend!
Amazing food. I love their yellow curry ramen and the mixed veg ramen the best. 🤩 Also make sure to always leave room for your desserts. Because they have amazing desserts too
Small intimate noodle shop in Durham. My second time here. I have a wheat allergy and the staff took extra steps to make sure my order would work for my needs.
Finally a good option when it comes to Thai food! I ordered pad Thai and drunken noodles, both dishes had good flavor and quantity. Pad Thai was a little on the sweet side even though both dishes were ordered "hot" spice level they felt more like a medium. Any less spice and it would have lacked flavor. I will try the next level up next time. Loses a star for inconvenient hours.
Food is really good but the service sucks bad you will wait about a hour to get your food
I used an app to place a dinner order and requested for it to be prepared later (I had to get through traffic after work). One of the items was Fried Calamari (10 Pcs). Unfortunately, the restaurant made my order within minutes of me placing it so by the time I arrived, condensation formed in the box - nothing like soggy, fried seafood. I mentioned it to the host before leaving and he appeared annoyed that I asked and told me, "It should be fine." I get how a shift with customers can wear on a person - I work too. Unfortunately, this was my first time trying Noodle 501.
First time come here they serve meat to a vegetarian then are sassy about it. But I got good vegan food, or so I thought. The second time I come here they tell me that food wasn’t vegan and I’m stuck with okay noodles instead. If I can’t trust them the first time or the second how can I trust them again? Second time also got much higher spice level than I ordered and they didn’t believe us even though they made the mistake.
If you’re not vegan/vegetarian and not worried about spice it would be 2/5. They put a ton of sugar in dishes making them very not authentic. If you request no sugar they then salt the hell out of it to balance it out. Not yummy.
Edit: I see the owner said to contact them and unsure what that can change about these two visits. Hope they improve going forward!
Soooooooo good! I’ve heard a lot about this place and finally had the chance to grab lunch here and was not disappointed. It was amazing! This is a great combination/fusion of Thai noodles and Japanese ramen. I was lucky because they had a special that day which is a very authentic and rare Thai dish called Khao Kruk Kapi. The flavor was original! We also had Yentafo noodles and duck noodle soup were very flavorful. For appetizers we had veggie tempura, and fried calamari were huge! They really give you big cuts of calamari. Comparing the quality and quantity of the food to the price, it’s worth every penny. This is the place for Thai noodle soups with authentic flavors and great Japanese ramen choices.
I ordered the drunken noodles and they were tasty! Beware, they are closed on Tuesdays!
My one complaint would be they have limited beverage options. And I don't think any other beverages have free refills (other than water)
There are a lot of options. It was my first visit and the owner came over to my table and offered up a suggestion. I took it. Glad I did. The dish was very flavorful and the portion was large. I'll be back.
The ramen was decent not best I have had in the area but not bad. My dad really enjoyed the pad thai. The atmosphere wasn't great but not a bad place to drop by for a quick bite, the service was alright too. Over all not disappointed or blown away from my experience. A decent spot for some ramen if you are in the area.
Best Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles I've ever had!
If you are gluten free, this restaurant is for you. I am extremely sensitive to cross contamination and they always take care of me. Favorite restaurant in Durham. The spice levels are great also, but let me warn you, they are REAL spice levels. 5 will burn you up if you're used to "texas pete" etc spice levels.
Small little place in a shopping center off 501 in Durham. Had a little hiccup with our service. Took awhile for us to put in an order, then the order got lost. Issue was taken care of. Menu has many things to offer. The Gyoza app is a must! The spicy levels are tricky. Just go with 3, it's more than enough. I did 4 and loved it, but most won't like the heat. The ramen and the drunken noodles were great. Very filling. Broth was delicious. Drunken noodles had a good sized portion.
Appreciated being sat down quickly (party of 1)! However, 20+ minutes passed and order was not taken after waiter told me to hold 5 minutes… so I left. It was just not great awareness as waiter was clearing tables, taking checks, etc. — there wasn’t anyone waiting to be sat down either? Overall, it was comical as I was a single person at my table, so it was an easy decision to leave.
Great restaurant. First time going and really enjoyed my food. They have gluten free options on the menu and it seems like they're confident that they are safe. Will be back to try more things :)
I love this place. The chef has put interesting spins on classic Ramen dishes which make it interesting and fun. Everyone I bring here loves it.
Food was amazing! Lots of veggies and all so fresh. I just found my new go to comfort food restaurant. Packaged well, arrived hot, and truly a tasty meal. Well done!
Great food and excellent service. Accommodates vegans and vegetarians. Has lot of menu choices.
This was my first time trying “fancy ramen”
Our server Thomas was knowledgeable and very nice. The food was a 10! Will definitely be back
Great place to eat and for good Pho. The customer service was on point and food was delicious 😋 This place is definitely my new spot for Pho, no more going to Raleigh or Cary.
My spouse and I recently dined at Noodle 501, and it was the most disappointing experience we've ever had at a restaurant.
I ordered a soup specifically with rice noodles. When the dish arrived, it included both rice noodles and regular ramen noodles, which I hadn't ordered. When we pointed out the mistake and mentioned my gluten sensitivity, the server claimed that nothing could be done to fix the issue because "this is what I ordered."
Attempts to escalate the issue were fruitless. Despite multiple requests to speak with a manager, we were repeatedly told that everyone was "too busy" to assist us.
The restaurant's eventual "solution" was to offer a 50% discount on another entrée, on top of charging us for the wrong dish. To add insult to injury, they included an upcharge for the extra noodles I did not order.
As we were prepared to pay and dispute the charges later, the server threatened to call the police, accusing us of harassment.
In summary, our experience at Noodle 501 was unacceptable. From mishandling the food order to poor customer service and intimidation tactics, it was a complete disaster. I strongly advise against dining here and will personally never return.
Nice
My mom and I wanted to try someplace new and OMG this place is AMAZING!!! So much flavor and the service is friendly and fast! 10/10 will definitely be back
Very good food, service, and vibe.
I particularly their Pad See Ew, and Drunken Noodles!
First time eating here the food was absolutely divine. One of the owner took our order and he is just an amazing human. really enjoyed talking to him. Such a grounded knowledgeable individual or 100% be coming back here and I highly recommend that anyone
The yellow chicken curry noodle bowl is out of this world delicious and authentic! Their Crispy Roger with ice cream is the best I’ve ever had!
Food looks good and atmosphere was nice but 4 people waiting patiently with little help. After the hour of waiting they finally tell me that they don't know my order and don't have one for me. Very upsetting and a total waste of time.
This is strictly an experience review. I did not have the opportunity to have the food. When we decided to order, I was hesitant because I initially did not want to eat at the restaurant. I was accommodating my 10 year old. Therefore I ordered an $8 appetizer with a soda. My daughter ordered a $16 meal with a soda. Within 2 mins of ordering, I decided against eating there for myself. I asked to pay for the sodas and the $16 meal to go. The hostess told me my appetizer was already made. I explained my position and intentions to pay for the meal and drinks. She went to the back and came back and basically said they weren’t going to make the meal because I didn’t want the appetizers. I told her I was confused because I’d never been to a restaurant that forced me to take something I did not want. She nodded her head as if to say that was the option. I said, okay, have a goodnight and left with a hungry kid. So rather than them comping another patron a free appetizer that they may have loved and came back for again and keeping 2 potentially new customers, they lost 2 customers and had to throw food away over $8. Loss and loss. Doesn’t make sense to me, but hey, I like gaining money not losing it. I won’t be back. I gave it 2 stars rather than 1 because I’m still a nice person, regardless of how I’m treated.
The food and staff are great. But be aware. If you order spicy and like jalapeños.... be careful. The medium is way beyond the spice of a jalapeño. The mild has no heat at all. 1 level up and you are licking the sun 🤣. I will just stick with mild because the food is extremely good. Just do NOT get medium if you don't eat a Carolina Reaper pepper like a potato chip. Your body can't handle it.
I've been here a number if times and always enjoy. They invite questions about the menu and are conscientious in preparations for allergens and dietary preferences. I recommend to eat-in because food is so well-presented, hot, and fresh. The uncommon quality is worth navigating the uncommon hours.
GREAT FOOD!! Thank you 😊
Volvería mil veces a este lugar.
Really great little spot. Went here late one night when we were staying at a hotel and didn’t know what to grab for food. Server was super nice and helpful w suggestions. Thai tea, my stir fry dish, and my dad’s ramen were all delicious! Nobody complained about us being there when it was near closing time either. Chill & easy as well.
Nice people, but food is meh. I had the chicken pad see ew medium spicy + spring rolls. Both tasted undercooked. Pad see ew noodles are expected to be seared (hence name) but they were merely warm without much sauce + dry chicken.
Great place, awesome food. Our family's go to place, really enjoy it. Portions are large for main dishes.
Nice, tasty food, if a tad over salted in my humble opinion. We got drunken noodles (solid), yen ta fo (interesting tart flavors), takoyaki (I've had better), and Tom kha (extremely rich and tasty). The front of house staff was very friendly. We got take out but would come back to done in, the decor is very hip.
We went here for its proximity to our location and the advertised menu. The food surpassed our expectations, the service was friendly and fast. We ordered a variety of spice levels, both vegetarian and meat or seafood, and we all had wonderful meals! Parking was easy as it is located in a strip mall. Don’t miss out!
I placed an order online for pick up. Food was really good, however I found it very passive aggressive that someone circled the fact that I did not tip on the receipt. I did not tip because no service was provided beyond preparing the food (which I already paid for). Nobody took my order, nobody delivered the food, there was no waiting service provided and I did not take up any space at the establishment. Tipping used to be about providing customer service, but now it feels more like a coercion so that disgruntled employees don't try to shame you or tamper with your food.
The reason I am leaving a 5 star review because the food is good and I want to see the business succeed, but I do hope the owner sees this feedback and can take corrective action.
Update- Reducing my original rating to 3 stars just based on the negative attitude I feel from this place. While the food was good and I appreciate a response from the owner, I do not think this is a good attitude to let employees act passive aggressively towards customers. I wish you luck but I will support other establishments in the future.
Fantastic experience. Veggies were fresh, Thai spices were rich and flavorful. Staff was so friendly!
Fast & friendly service. The food was incredibly flavorful, and I enjoyed it. I will be back soon!
Hands down, one of the best drunken noodles I’ve ever had IN MY LIFE. They cook each of the noodles perfectly. No clumpy, dried globs of noodles. Everything is tossed evenly in the sauce. I like mine between hot and Thai hot. The veggies are still crisp. The perfect contrast with the noodles.
Their gyoza dumplings are so deliciously crunchy, with the ponzu? Omg, I could eat 30.
Their pad Thai is slightly on the sweet side, but I get extra lime wedges on the side, plus the spice, it balances out perfect. I think they serve some of the quickest, tastiest noodles in Durham.
So worth it!
Best ramen in Durham and contends with ramen I've had in Japan. Sort of a blend of ramen options inspired from various countries. Get the Yellow Curry Ramen, medium spice. Thank me later.
Excellent broth and perfect noodles. Very quick service.
The atmosphere is as phenomenal as the food and the service! You will LOVE IT.
Excellent ramen and service, highly recommend!
The pad thai was soooo good and i have eaten a lot hundreds of Thai restaurants but this stood out so delicious
Tasty!
Wouldn't know. Arrived 25min before closing and asked politely if they were still taking orders because it was absolutely dead. Sign was on and the door was unlocked. Host looked at me as if he couldn't be bothered. I made a remark about how maybe they shouldn't post the hours they do and was basically cussed out by a younger employee.
Was really excited for a new noodle place, but based on this interaction alone, there's absolutely no way I can recommend a place like that. If you want to close early due to slow business, I get it. But that was an entirely avoidable and unnecessary interaction.
I absolutely love this restaurant! I've tried so many dishes here, and everything has been amazing. Some of my favorites include the drunken noodles, pad thai, pad see ew, yellow curry ramen, yellow curry noodle, rotee and curry, and so much more. I always leave feeling satisfied and happy.
One thing that sets this restaurant apart is the staff. They are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which creates such a great atmosphere. I always feel like a valued customer here.
If you're looking for delicious ramen and other amazing dishes, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!
Must try! The Curry and ramen was the best I have ever had. Friendly staff and awesome service.
Awesome food, nice to have some real Thai heat in a dish! The owner is incredibly kind and the nice lady in the kitchen and front desk will always greet you with a smile. They’re a little understaffed so the wait can be long, but it’s so worth it and just makes the experience extra special. They work hard and put a ton of love in the food, so be sure to tip well!
Muy rica la sopa de mariscos 👌.
This is my favorite restaurant!!! I’ve been back SO many times, I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to write this review.
My favorite thing to get is the yellow curry ramen 🤤🤤🤤 but I’ve also tried the wonton pork soup, tonkotsu ramen, yellow curry noodle, pad Thai, drunken noodle, and gyoza!! They’ve all been AMAZING!! Whenever we have company from out of town, this is the first place we bring them.
The staff is amazing and so so kind! 10/10!!!
The owner is hands on Insuring quality and expierence
On my first visit with my oldest daughter and a family friend we had a great meal and experience. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I had the 2" wide Pan See EW which were wonderful on my first visit around 2:30 late lunch and Drunken Noodles on my second with my whole family (7 of us). Second visit was at dinner time(around 6)and took a lot longer to be served, but food and service were still great! The place is small and busy, so maybe do a takeout order when you can, but definitely stop in and enjoy the noodles! Be warned about the 🔥 HEAT 🔥though when you order. I learned as did my youngest!
Pretty diverse menu with good options and the inside warehouse-y atmosphere and theming are pretty cool. The staff was really helpful. I didn't love the food enough to get takeout, but I'd definitely go here to meet with a friend after work.
The good: The food is really good. A lot of egg-flavor in the Pad Thai, but if you don't mind that it's tasty. All other food we tried was on par with other Thai we've had in the area. The service was top-notch.
The okay: Not much ambiance. Certainly not as good as Thai Station, for example, and oddly the music playing was all Disney movie soundtracks. I guess kids might like it. Prices seemed to be on par with other similar restaurants in town.
We enjoyed it
Got delivery via Grubhub. Pad Thai and pad see ew, both with tofu and mixed vegetables. Both dishes were very good with a lot of tofu/vegetables, very well seasoned, and the spice level was also perfect. The portion size is definitely enough for 2 small meals.
I had an amazing first experience and will definitely be coming back!
We love Noodle 501! It's such a gem of a local eating spot. The ramens and soups are so tasty, portions are big and worth the price. The staff is friendly and helpful, and we always love chatting with the owner.
My husband and I tried the Pad Thai and duck ramen and wow were we disappointed! The duck is literally chunks of fat seared on all sides. I asked if I could get another and they said that duck was too expensive to replace for free but I could order a side of it with more meat… Plus the broth had this foam at the top showing that they didn’t skim off the waste when boiling it. That’s all the gunk you do NOT want to eat when boiling duck bones… My husband’s pad thai noodles were so overdone that lifting them with chopsticks made them mush and fall into pieces. He was so disappointed. We really wanted to like this spot…
Really cool concept with exceptional customer service, and I can see the potential, but there’s definitely a good amount of room for improvement. They have tons of options and are very accommodating to everyone’s dietary needs. The broth was really rich and flavorful with layers of spices too! But our dishes did have pretty severely undercooked noodles and several slivers of ginger that really threw off the texture compared to everything else. I love al-dente noodles but these were pretty much hard with no bounce, and the ginger slivers were very tough with sharp edges :( Not sure why they’re prepped like that. My only other complaint would be that the meat was cooked to the point of actually being tough. I guess they cook the meat first, then put it in hot broth? All in all it’s a good spot and I’ll check it out again, but I’ll have to make certain adjustments while placing my next order.
First time getting this. I’m impressed. For reference, I’m African. I found the food very flavorful and the spice level great. Got 4/5 spice level for everything. Drunken noodles Seafood Ramen and the Yen Ta Fo. All great options. It was delivered and delivered well.
Amazing food, the service was top tier. The best noodles in Durham!!
Although it took a long time for Uber Eats to deliver my food, the food itself was super tasty and still warm upon arrival. The owner was very accommodating with my order. 10/10 recommend !
I tried a handful of the soups, and they are all very good! You can customize how spicy each soup is. Patty always makes me feel super welcome here, and would recommend anyone that likes a warm bowl of soup full of flavor!
The vibe of this place is very nice and the food is great!!! 10/10 would recommend. My family loves this place.
Wow!!!
I’ve been here a couple of times now, and the food has been stellar. The menu has a great selection of familiar, classic fare, as well as unique new takes on Asian flavors.
I’ve also consistently enjoyed my interactions with the host/waiter… he runs a tight ship and has a great sense of humor too. A must try spot if you enjoy memorable pan-Asian flavors.
Delicious Thai food with lots of vegetarian options!
Was a little disappointed. My pad Thai was spicy but otherwise lacked flavor and the chicken was dry. Crab rangoons were good and saved the meal for me — would give it another chance but wouldn’t be my first choice.
Finally a local noodle joint that brings the heat! Spicy and flavorful. Will definitely be back.
This is the BEST ramen noodle I have ever had. They are always so friendly and even better the food is AMAZING!! Please support this small business!! I would've added a picture but I already ate half the food. Lol
I ordered the duck ramen and summer rolls. The ramen had great flavor! I have a fairly low spice tolerance, so I got the "mild," and would recommend it. It tasted different from ramen I've had in the past, but I liked it!
This location has superb pickup services.
When picking up, they greeted me by name, had everything ready, and even acknowledged and appreciated my thoroughness in order confirmation. I asked about a menu and was immediately provided their online link and QR code. If you work in food delivery or enjoy take-home options and a night off from doing dishes, please consider Noodle 501! Their attentive and professional service is noteworthy and refreshing.
All I gotta say is... WOW. That's some of the best Pho I've ever had. I have to eat gluten free and they are careful for GF dishes if you let them know.
The selection of spicy stuff to add is phenomenal and not something I've seen before. There's literally four different things. A friend and myself went there for the first time on Monday and you know what.... I'm going to be back multiple times a week!
My siblings and I love noodle dishes and a good atmosphere. That's just what we got at Noodle 501! We were so excited to see this place pop up when we were searching for ramen, so we decided to give it a try. We were definitely impressed. We had two different ramen dishes, glass noodles, crab rangoons, and Thai tea - all of which were delicious. One of the owners was serving, and they were extremely helpful in helping us decide what dishes would best suit our taste and answered all questions with kindness. I personally love the fact you can add most anything to your dish and choose different spice levels. I enjoy spice, so I went for a level three. It was the perfect amount of spice without overpowering the flavor of the dish. We also really liked the artwork which made the environment fun, and a nice place to relax and enjoy each other's company. We will definitely be returning for more!
*Dish pictured is the beef stew ramen with corn and a boiled egg added. Super delicious and meat was soooo tender! Highly recommend.
Ordered a noodle and soup yesterday through Ubereats, only to wait for one and an half hour until the food is ready, and no explanation is provided. Be aware if you are doing delivery from this restaurant!!
I've done dine in, take out, and delivery. This spot is GOOD! So happy they opened. Everything I've had has been amazing. I like they do spiciness levels too.
Everything is delicious my kiddos are very pick and they are very please are server is really kind hard, hard worker my 7 year old "this food is better then my moms! ":)
Ordered take-out. The process was simple to follow and gave an estimated time to pick up the food. We arrived 10 min early and our food was already ready. Unfortunately, this meant is was already nearly cold. The drunken noodles and pad see ew were lacking flavor. For some reason the drunken noodles were heavy on the onion with only a few pepper slices. The sampler appetizer was good. I don't think the current ratings reflect the quality of the food.
Consistently delicious. Owner is beyond helpful and engaging.
Food is fresh, spiced just right, and a great selection of offerings.
Will be back again and again.
This was our first visit and while the food was fine we had to wait over an hour for two bowls of noodles while others who ordered 10-20 minutes after us received their food first and the restaurant was not even full. We didnt get our food until around 9:10 which is after closing. We then asked if there was any possible way we could get some sort of discount for the long wait and we're immediately told no. In addition the food was bland, I ordered pork ramen and it was all really bland from the pork to the prok wontons to the broth. If you want noodles I would recommend going somewhere else or just getting take out as the wait as well as the price (almost $20 a head) was not worth it.
We stopped in on a cross-country drive and were super pleased with the freshness and delicious flavor profile of the food. The owner was also super friendly and service was exceptional. A happy, unplanned stop!
Awesome place came in here twice so far definitely recommend it and will be back.
I am so glad to have a noodle place in the area. I had a delicious meal of drunken noodles and summer rolls with great service. My meal was packaged well and still piping hot when I got home. It was flavorful and delicious. I can’t wait to try more!
I'm a noodle fan. Wherever they open I have to try. Since eating, this restaurant is the most delicious. Noodles bowl is delicious especially yen ta fo, soup is so yummy, taste just right, not greasy like other restaurants, the staff and owner are friendly too..I recommend should try this place..
Great Thai food! The pad thai and drunken noodles were some of the best I've had in a long time. Nice atmosphere and friendly wait staff. We'll definitely be back again!
I'll be going here again. The food was delicious, the spice level for my dish was on point, the menu is reasonably priced, and the service was good. Laid back but nice atmosphere. I spoke briefly with one of the owners and he was very friendly.
