Bua Thai Durham specializes in authentic Thai cuisine. We moved here over 25 years ago from the northeast region of Thailand and love to share our time-honored recipes, unique fusion dishes, and yummy desserts with our local community.
I'm a Thai food lover and had a taste for some dinner. The area was nice and the restaurant was casually comfortable.
A Thai curry is my first test of a restaurant. If you can't do this well, all else is questionable. The green curry here was just ok. There's a limit to the heat level they will prepare, but they will give you additional spice to add yourself. There were very few vegetables in the curry, nor much taste of keffir lime, which was a bit bland.
The dumplings were a bit greasy and not something I would order again. My daughter had the basil catfish (pad prik catfish), which was actually pretty good. The catfish was fried really well, but needed to add more seasoning for some actual spiciness.
I may return for the fish dish, but the curry and other dish leaves much to be desired.
I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place yet because it’s been 5/5 each time I’ve come. My go-to dinner order is the pineapple fried rice, no shrimp, sub pork, cooked mild to medium spicy. The homemade desserts are also excellent. But if you trust me on anything, trust me on the pineapple fried rice. Plus, it’s a huge portion and I easily get 2-3 meals out of it.
Went for dinner and arrived with 4 or so tables also seated. The decor and food was decent but the service is extremely lacking. While we were waiting, I noticed that tables were receiving their food one plate at a time. People would finish their meal before the next person got theirs. We waited 40 minutes for our appetizer and when I asked if we could cancel the rest of our meal, the waitress rudely asked if we were in a rush. We got our food 10 minutes later and it was good, not great. It was definitely not worth the hour or so we had to wait for it. It was a slow weekday night and no reason why it should have taken as long as it did. The table next to us was also shocked at how slow things moved.
Came here with a friend to try the food and it was amazing. We got the sriracha chicken wing, chicken satay and curry chicken ramen. I loved the Curry Ramen, super flavorful and it came with big pieces of chicken. The atmosphere, ambiance and service were great as well. My water cup was always filled. They have outdoor and indoor seatings available. I would definitely come back when I’m in the area.
I have been searching for a good Thai restaurant since moving to the area 3 years ago. I have finally found my go-to Thai restaurant. The food was hot, fresh, beautifully presented and delicious! Even the iced tea made by our server, Amelia, was outstanding. The booth was comfortable, the music soft and we could hear each other👍 Amelia was everything you could want in a server; friendly, informative and competent. We look forward to returning soon to sample some of the other interesting offerings.
Arrived 7:15. Fast service and got orders in at 7:20. Appetizer out at 7:45. Main out at 8:10. 50 minutes is a long wait.
Chicken wings 3/10. Small and obviously frozen, both dry and tough. Not much spice and sauce was sweet without much other flavor.
Thai teas 5/10. Very pale color with not much black tea flavor. Cup full of ice so only 5 big sips of tea to finish.
Pad thai 8/10. Very good flavor thai hot was perfect for someone who likes spice. Only complaint is green onions were chopped to be an inch long so any bite with one just taste like onion. Very weird never had it done like this before.
Chefs special fried fish 6/10. Battered fish was floured without any spice, side salad was small but good. The sizing of vegetables in the salad were inconsistent and too large.
Total meal was $60 for these orders. Don't feel as if this was worth the price. My advice is to just get a main and not appetizers or drinks. Would be a 4 star if I'd just had a pad thai but everything else was disappointing.
Had been looking for a good Thai place in Durham that screamed comfort. This is it. Great food, fast service and very sweet staff. I showed up 30 mins before closing and the staff still sat me in. Food was out very quickly and was delicious. 10/10 Bua is my new favorite Thai restaurant.
Excellent food, ordered a dozen times and I've never been disappointed. Hands down my favorite Thai restaurant in the southpoint area
Bua Thai is my favorite Thai restaurant in the Triangle. Their dishes are authentic and tasty. You can't go wrong with any choice from their menu.

This place is so yummy and they have know how to add heat, spice to your dish, If you want it. Cool atmosphere inside and they have nice outdoor seating if you'd like to be in a bit of nature 😉
The food is so good! Unfortunately the waitress that’s always there has always had a smirky attitude with us that’s very unwelcoming (especially with my kids) and unpleasant. So after two dine in experiences with her, we are now going somewhere else.
Pad Thai was the worst
Arguably one of the best Thai spot in Durham. I’ve been eating here for years and the food has always been consistently good. More recently I’ve been stopping by to eat at the bar and have fallen in love with the green curry.

Yum! Curry and potstickers are great!
I wish I could give the service more than 5 stars! I’ve loved this place for a while because their food is good but the employees are super kind as well. One time, my friend left his credit card there and didn’t realize until ~10 minutes to closing, called the restaurant, and the staff waited for him to come pick it up (he arrived a few minutes after closing). Great folks, great food.
Great food. Always hot and i go often.
Have finally tried them, and gotta say not at all disappointed!!!
The drinks are amazing especially the frozen melon berry drink. Definitely a must try!
I've eaten here 3 times and love the food. The pad thai and coconut cake are especially good. Will continue to eat here!
One of the best Thai restaurants in the Raleigh Durham area we have had. My husband tried the pad see ew and I had the basil fried rice, both were so good! We have been on the hunt for a great Thai place since moving from AZ, and we have found our new Thai spot!
We we the 2nd group of people there but since there were 7 of us, they served every single person that arrived after us. It took 2 hrs to get our food. We we not allowed to order separately either. Or give more than 4 credit cards. We got 2 slices of cake free to compensate. They were out of some 1st choice meals ☹
Arrive 2 hours before you're hungry. Food should arrive in an hour and a half (when your appetite arrives). But your food will be burnt... my friend's was. My meal, which I chose based off the ingredients, arrived full of the one ingredient I needed to avoid (due to an allergy). When I told the hostess it wasn't on the menu and the cooks need to know, I was told, "I just work here." We had to get our own drinks refilled (guess we work there too). However it didn't take another 90 minutes to make my food correct and it was actually pretty good (cuz it wasn't burnt).
super yummy food and AMAZING service

Best Thai food I've had in the Triangle
Cute place good food at reasonable price. Possibility to eat outdoor, dog friendly.

Our go-to Thai restaurant.
Beef noodle is a must have: the soup is deliciously umami. They also give plenty of sliced beef and meat balls.
Their pineapple fried rice is also great with a nice balance of salty and savory (and SPICY if that's what you like)
The fried wings are our newest favorite. The wings are deep fried in a more Asian way (no breading) served with a simple sweet and sour sauce.
Edit (Aug 2024): new favorite: fried fish with mango salad. The fish is so light and the salad is so refreshing it is the perfect summer dish.
It's okay. Not bad. Doesn't feel authentic. Food was delicious though.
Normally I'm a very picky eater, but I loved the food I got and everyone else in My family did too!! The environment inside is super calm and chill. Our waiter was supe nice!
Had a wonderful time! The Pad thai was really good and Kathy was very kind. Will be back for sure
Excellent service, the staff is very kind.
The service was very good 👌 Kathy was very kind!
yummy food and great service.
It was a great experience!! Recommend!
Amazing Thai food. With fast friendly service. Lends toward the spicy side of things.
I can’t understand how and why any restaurant would ever deliver one person’s food to the table without the other, but it seems to be normal these days.
Quality mediocre Thai food - nothing to go out of your way for but solid to be sure.
Our server was very friendly.
Service is a little bit slow sometimes but the food is always delicious and the servings generous. My favorite Thai place in Durham.
Bua is a hidden gem. Their cuisine is clean and delicious. We love their chicken with garlic sauce and crispy fish. Their salad dressing is my picky son's favorite.
So far so great. All I got for my first time was bunch of different soups for takeout and every one of them is delicious. I’ll be back to try more
Easily one of my favorite restaurants. I can't recommend this place highly enough! The food is absolutely amazing and everyone is so kind. I look forward to coming here every time.
Super slow… took 40 minutes to serve one appetizer.
The whole chefs special section was out of stock, chicken satay was out, beef noodle soup was out! It’s on a Friday night!
The waitress also took the order wrong! We ordered a yellow curry and she took it as a green curry.
Won’t visit again.
Best Thai food in Durham.
Amazing food
Ask for the spice selection if you want to kick it up a bit.
Overall Rating: .9/10 - STAY AWAY
This is by far the worst overall rating given to any restaurant to date. As a local guide who has been to countless authentic Thai restaurants around the country, not just Raleigh, this place is by far the least authentic and has the worst pineapple fried rice I could have ever experienced. Imagine being hungry and your plate is so bad, that one cannot eat it. The worst part is, the waiter who realized I didn’t eat the rice plate asked twice on how the food was. After what I thought was a good conversation with the server, I left it in her hands to make it right. She gave me $3 off the already crazy high priced $20 pineapple fried rice plate. I paid $17 dollars for 3 bites of a disgusting plate. This is just flat out disrespectful.
There are other things that were very wrong, but I refuse to state them because they have not earned the respect to get better. They will continue to do as they do and they WILL close their doors because of these issues.
Service is a little slow (they only had one waitress working. But the food is totally worth it. Anytime I’m craving authentic Thai this is the go to spot.
Our favorite Thai restaurant in the area. The food is always good and the service is quick and friendly. Both indoor and outdoor tables are available for dining.
BEST THAI FRIED RICE I HAVE EVER HAD! I HAVE BEEN CRAVING IT AND UNFORTUNATELY I LIVE IN MD. I AM PLANNING MY NEXT TRIP TO NC FOR THIS FOOD!
I visit many of the restaurants in Sutton Station. Would say Bua is least frequented because they are closed during lunch.
Only ate here once. This experience …Slow service. Took an hour to make an appertizer and noodles. Three tables got their food ahead of me. Was told food was almost done but waited an additional 7 minutes. On top of that they made the dish wrong. Maybe they were having a bad day.
Could have offered me a water or drink as my back broke while sitting for an hour.
Avoid when hungry
Come if you want to be patient
Curries are delicious (and gluten-free)!
overall decent place for Thai food..
green curry was a bit watery, masaman was definitely thicker
parking available up front.
no reservations needed and table attained right away.
kid friendly
We were seated promptly. Our orders were taken as soon as we were ready. Even though the food is prepared fresh, it was a short wait and well worth it! Our meal was delicious and the service was excellent.
Beet green curry around. So glad we visited here
OMG
We ate there last night!!! AWFUL!
We waited 1 hour and 45 minutes for our appetizers! Another half hour for our entrees!
Food was mediocre at best!
NEVER GOING BACK!
All I can say is if you have not yet tried Bua Thai Durham, just stop everything and go. Now. They have real Lao sticky rice, which is a wonder in itself. Any shape you want to shape it, it will hold. And the taste!!! This was my first time here, and I ordered the marinated chicken and papaya salad. The layers of flavor, sweet, sour, spicy, salty, all come together masterfully.
I cannot wait to return.
Best restaurant in Durham.
This thai restaurant is exceptional. The food is very good. And the value is excellent. The portions are large and the prices are very fair. It is probably the only place I can think of that I haven't seen major recent price hikes at. I don't know how they do it, but I really appreciate it and am giving them lots of business. Everyone that works there is also really kind.
All the curries, the phad thai, the fried rices, and the tom yum soup are mouthwatering. Everything is fresh and flavorful.
Really good for take out or dining in!
Horrible food and insanely long wait time. It resembles little of Thai food. The Tom Yum soup tastes like a bowl of instant noodle. The seafood is not fresh. The grilled chicken is pre-made and microwaved. When it is served the chicken is a still cold inside. If you want something Thai, Thai@Main is a much better option.
Best Thai food in town. Hands down. It’s not even worth going anywhere else (I’ve tried them all)… save the time and searching and eat here!!! It’s our go-to takeout spot :)
Not good
Slow service, undercooked and under flavoured food. Cold inside, sticky tables and menus. Avoid this place.

The Red curry was flavorful and not super spicy. It was very mild. Just enough to make your nose run. It was delicious. The staff is super nice as well.
Update: the Nam Tok Beef was amazing! The beef was cooked but the dish is cool. The lime juice and seasonings really makes this dish delicious. The Beef Jerky that comes with it is hot and reminds me of what a Beef Satay would be. Absolutely fantastic.
I will be having a hard time deciding which dish to get next time. Both the Red Curry and the Nam Tok Beef is so good.
Great food , great people
Update to previous review. Ordered the Pad Thai with no peanuts tonight and I was extremely disappointed with the food. The last time I ordered from Bua was almost 5 months ago and there had to be a different chef/cook back then because the food was good. I don’t know what happened, but this go round the food was awful and tasted weird. They did not use Pad Thai Noodles this time, but instead used noodles that were very thin and reminded you of spaghetti noodles only thinner/finer. The Pad Thai had a different taste and was very very dry not to mention missing scallions. Lucky for me I keep Sweet Thai Chili Sauce on the shelf…. It definitely helped. Placed 2 orders with the shrimp for an extra cost. Was it worth it, definitely not!! What a waste of $34 (down the drain). The sign on the door says ‘Help Needed’ for kitchen and waitstaff. No wonder the food wasn’t the same, different cooks in the kitchen. Bua Thai was a favorite at one time, but now it’s time to shop around for a new place to eat Thai or learn how to make it myself. Oh well!!
Super cool place that’s open late. Stopped in here after going to the Comic Strip. It’s hard to find good places on the Upper East Side that are open past 10. Bua checked off all the boxes. Beautiful ambience inside, great attentive service, and excellent Thai food. This is a winner!!!
I’m upset we haven’t been here sooner. The food was absolutely delicious. I’m not a huge Thai fan, I like it just don’t love it. This place has me rethinking this. Like I wasn’t expecting to write a review so only took a picture of the pineapple fried rice with shrimp (OMG yum). Had the Tom Yum soup (best I’ve ever had), chicken drunken noodles (really solid) and as aforementioned the pineapple fried rice. Service was friendly and efficient. Listen, why you still reading? Go eat!
): First time trying this spot- ordered online for pick up, they didn’t have the order ready and still made us wait because apparently they never printed out the order ticket…
UPDATE: beyond upset. Waited over 50 minutes for what should’ve been already ready. After the long wait.. no utensils, no sauces. Couldn’t have even offered a complimentary drink or anything?? On top of that my seafood soup had 3 shrimp and one piece of tofu. I’m sad and want my money back.
Bua Thai has become my go-to spot when I'm craving delicious Thai cuisine. As someone who was on the hunt for a good Thai restaurant, I can confidently say that Bua Thai exceeds my expectations every time. The food is simply outstanding, with authentic flavors and fresh ingredients. The cozy and inviting atmosphere adds to the overall dining experience, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. Moreover, the customer service is top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff always ready to assist. Bua Thai truly ticks all the boxes for an exceptional Thai dining experience.
The food is fantastic. I very much enjoyed it. We went to the place before the pandemic and it was disorganized in the Front of House. It still is.
The only issue is that our order came out one plate at a time. When I asked, I was told one person prepares all of the Noodle dishes. That's actually pretty standard, so clearly either there is disorganization in the kitchen or they aren't waiting for full tickets to be complete. It's a simple fix, because this has happened to me 0 times since I started going out again. Because they prepare it fresh to order, if they had waited and brought the whole table the food would still have been as hot and amazing.
Still, you should eat at this place. I could have caught them on a bad day - there was a large group that never seemed to leave - so everyone could have been wiped and over it. Left them a good tip, because food was good and the servers were friendly.
I am going back there again. They bring out the food together and it is 5 stars all day. This is really 4.5, but that isn't allowed. Highly recommend even with the hiccup.
Pad Thai is great.
Can’t go wrong with anything you order here.
Delicious Pad Thai, and they can make it without fish sauce if you ask. Yum!
The wait for my party of two was fifty minutes and the staff was not very attentive. I ordered the seafood noodle soup and the size of the squid was way too big to be in a soup. There were also shells on the shrimp which made the soup more annoying to eat. I felt unsatisfied after my meal and wished I had spent my money elsewhere.
Food is always so fresh, delicious and consistently tasty every time I order from here. The wait times are long but worth it!
You have to reach before 1 hour ago.. before closing... Though they say 30 mins before... . It was really a bad experience with kids and family.. the worst experience.. since we invited friends from other locations... We saw that many tables were vacant.. inside seating.. 🙏
I’m so glad we found this cute little place! The food was delicious, fresh and came out fast. Our server Andrea was friendly and attentive and we really appreciated her knowledge of the various dishes. She even asked us if we had any specific food allergies which was so thoughtful! Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!
Love the food it was awesome service and wait staff was great 👍
Delicious pad thai. I thought the price was a tad steep, but the portion size made up for it :)
Do not follow published restaurant hours and extremely rude to customers.
A little Thai spot tucked away into Sutton Station that delivers a great selection. We had the Green Curry and Pad See Ew and both were very tasty.
The service was also attentive and fast, but I feel like this is a better spot to order take out that dining in. We will be back!
food is freakin delicious
Got the pad see ew , very good - plus the chili flakes are the perfect kind of hot. Will definitely come back when in town again.
Waitress was. Ery kind and helpful.
Hot tea wasn't really hot, but no other co.plai ts. Can't wait to go back!!!
I have been trying to eat at this restaurant since November. Their hours are not as they publish online. Often when you get to the restaurant there is a sign on the door with a change of hours. This restaurant is in a city, and the hours do not align with times that people normally eat. This evening we went, stood at the front for over 5 minutes. 3 people were working behind the bar and they were not too concerned that people were waiting. We finally were acknowledged. We were told we needed to wait 15 minutes, when there were numerous open tables. In speaking to our neighbor, who works near this restaurant, this type of thing happens all the time. We will continue to drive to Brier Creek to eat Thai. Perhaps this restaurant needs to hire more workers and clear the room to the right of their front door, which looks cluttered and dirty, and put in more tables. I will not recommend anyone to eat here.
Best Thai food in the area. Make it your choice.
I’m so happy I stuck with my gut and got dinner here because it was delicious, and I have enough leftovers for a whole meal tomorrow!
My waitress was nice and quick when I needed something, and the overall experience was great.
I got the Pad See-Ew and it was delicious!
I’ll be back if I’m in town again!
The rice was really good
Great Thai food at a great price. A favorite takeout place.
Delicious - especially the pineapple fried rice with shrimp and Massaman curry with tofu.
This is the best Thai food I've had in the triangle. I find that a lot of Thai places make their food really sweet - not the case here. Their Swai + salad entree is amazing, the salad is so fresh and zippy and the fish is fresh and super tasty, enough food for two dinners for sure. My only nit is that my husband ordered his food Thai hot and it was medium hot at best. Still delicious though!
Food is excellent! Really delish! I had the tom kha vegetable and drunken noodle with veggies. SO good!!
Really nice staff and really good food. The tom kha soup is awesome. Excited to go back in the summer for the sticky rice and mango. But first, more soup!
This is one of the few take out places that always gets the order right. kind of a quiet spot but the food is excellent. I especially appreciate the care they take to get orders right even though they are struggling with hiring staff. It is the type of business you can feel good about spending money with!
Food was ok, service good, bit difficult to find location.
Ordered chicken satay...tasted nice
Fried rice...ok. Penang curry, red curry bit watery, little bit sugary.
Overall good food and environment!!
Worth a visit.
It's a good one. Service is good as well besides yummy food.
While visiting Durham, NC for a business trip, my family and I decided to look for a Thai restaurant and upon almost every Thai restaurant not opening until 5pm we ended up finding Bua Thai! Coming from New Orleans with such incredible food my expectations were not high, BUT BOY WAS I WRONG! Everything we ordered was delicious! So delicious that we forgot to take a photo until we were almost done! Just looking at the photo you can tell we enjoyed our meal!
Been to Bua probably 50+ times and each time it is amazing. Food is consistently delicious and the staff are very friendly. Highly recommend if you're big on Thai and in the area.
Always the freshest food!
Authentic Thai food and is absolutely delicious
Best Thai in Durham. And the family that operates it and the servers are amazing people! Do yourself a favor, and order a Pad Thai. Not sure if its authentic in flavor, but if it is any close the flavor they do I can see why it is such a favorite dish around the world!
Great experience after a long day on the road. Service was stellar and the food fabulous. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are clearly marked.
We ordered take out and it was okay. Both dishes needed more sauce and spice which were added at home, but for the price that shouldn't be necessary. The vegetables and food overall were warm and fresh, just missing some flavor.
Wow. Best drunken noodles I’ve ever had! Very flavorful, and the coconut milk & mushroom soup is just as good! Staff is also super friendly.
Our go-to Thai place in South Durham
Location was not "funky" and decor was not "rustic." The food was good though. Pad Thai noodles were a bit undercooked...al dente, which is fine for Italian, less so for Thai. The wife loved the red curry. Staff were great!
The service was so friendly(Andrea) and the food was so delicious!! The best pad see ew - such fresh vegetables and the flavor couldn’t be beat!! Can’t wait to come back and try the drunken noodles and pineapple fried rice.
Excellent restaurant. The menu is very good 👍 and tasty items. Staff and workers are good
I like it
These folks are so kind and the food is crazy delicious. They are able to make food as hot as you can take and still be flavorful. Andrea is great with people and the owner is a very sweet woman that seems yo care about your experience.
I can say this was one of the most if not THEE most wonderful experiences on a restaurant I have ever had! I will be back as soon as I get to that area again. A great choice. Great people. Authentic Thai food. A GREAT experience all around.
Thank you so much!!!!
I felt the drunken noodles were excellent. Mangos and sticky rice was super tasty. Slightly short staffed but I guess who isn’t.
Nice place ...good food
Great food, went above and beyond to prepare my favorite Thai dish that wasn't even on the menu ( Pad Woon Sen). The sign of a great customer focused establishment!
This place is awesome! Great food and amazing service. Been going for several years and it's the BEST Thai restaurant in Durham by far.
The BEST thai food in Durham. Catfish curry and pad thai is our go to menu. Won’t be disappointed
From the Pineapple Ale to the Fried Rice and shrimp, everything was fresh and delicious! Small, family owned and operated, amazing service.
Tried Bua Thai for the first time tonight and it was beyond disappointing.
Ordered pad Thai and chicken satay.
Decided to give Bua a second change because I was a bit disappointed the first time around and the reviews suggested I shouldn't be. Should have followed my instincts. The Tom Kha soup and sticky rice (difficult to mess that up) are good and deserve 3 stars. However, the drunken noodles and cashew nut pork were bland, boring and no better than a decent quality (?) frozen entree from a grocery store. The spring rolls looked (and tasted like) half-smoked cigars--had one bite, couldn't eat the rest. There are several Thai/Vietnamese/Chinese take out restaurants in the area that serve much better dishes for less cost. I'll stick with those from now on.
4/9/22 Decided to reduce to 1 star. Why ? family decided to go eat here because of the decent online reviews. I was at work and wasn't aware they were going here, otherwise I would have suggested they go elsewhere based on previous experiences. Without "warning" they brought home an order of drunken noodles and Tom Kha soup. I'm not getting these 5 star reviews at all--guess no one in the area has had really good Thai food before. Both dishes were lousy , I regret tasting them. Drunken noodles remain bland/boring/overly salty and just plain unappealing. The Tom Kha soup , once a decent example, now isn't worth trying (unless you are severely sodium depleted)--there is absolutely no "love" or creativity infused in this cooking--its cafeteria quality at best . And to add in'salt' to injury, the prices are way out of line given the quality. Again, there are far better, more authentic and reasonably priced Thai/Vietnamese places in the Triangle (Thai cafe/Bowl of Pho to mention just 2 of several) that actually give a damn about what they are serving. Please go to any one of those instead.
Food was good. Price was ok. Service was good. Recommended
Excellent food! Awesome wait staff!
Service slow. Was đạt at table and not given menu until after server took all other table orders. Very disorganized. Slow. Will not return.
Traditional Thai. Very yummy. Today i got pad thai with shrimp. Shrimp huge. Flavors delish. Andrea took care of our large meetup group and did a fab job! Its a family run business so off shift staff jumped in to make our dining experience excellent
Excellent
Our go to bi weekly or monthly Thai restaurant. It's super close to where we live so we frequent here a lot. The restaurant is clean, service is exceptional, and food prepared great. We enjoy dining in as it's in the plaza where the kids can go for a walk after. We tried so far few of the chef specials and they were all amazing.
Service was almost as great as the food. The Name Tok beef is amazing. The pineapple fried rice is also fantastic. This is probably one of the most overlooked food spots in Durham. Light-years better than any Thia restaurant in town.
always great food and great service. Love the Thai tea.
High quality Thai food at a reasonable price
Eaten here a bunch of times because it's my favorite Thai place in the state.
It's flavorful and spicy and not for everyone, but my sister lived in Thailand for 8 years and loved it for this.
No joke dank food
One of the best Thai joints in this area! Hard to choose a single dish as most of their dishes are good! Loved the drunken noodles and the Thai curry
Amazing Thai food! We love this place ❤
I have never written a review online before but I felt this was necessary.
We ordered online here, walked to pick it up and they reviewed our order while checking things off our receipt. We walked back home and realized we received less than half our order. When we called, the waitress lied saying to the manager that she gave us 2 bags and not one. She claimed to not remember giving us one bag…less than 15 minutes earlier.
They told us to our face that they were reviewing camera footage because they believed the waitress over us.
The chef was absolutely the only competent person working there. He apologized and was extremely helpful.
But the others refused to apologize claiming that we were somehow in the wrong.
We will not return to eat here or give them our business.
The noodle soups are top-notch. I'm sure the rest of the menu is fine, but I always get the soup.
By far my favorite Thai in the area!!! I drive 25 minutes to eat here even though there are more convenient places near me. Their tom yum dumplings and drunken noodles are amazing! Pad Thai and tom kha are also delish. And they do spicy so well!!!!!! They will actually do Thai (very!) spicy if you ask!
Best Thai I’ve had in Durham. I got the Tom Yum dumplings (served in soup spoons with a smoky broth) and Tom Yum Potak soup with mixed seafood/ side of thin noodles. It was delicious and I want to go back another time already! Excellent service.
My husband and I stumbled upon Bua Thai Cuisine while shopping at the mall and am I glad we did! We were greated and sat right away by Andrea, who turned out to be our waitress, and she was friendly and engaging. Decided to start with the Tom Yum Dumplings and Tom Kha soup - delicious!! For entrées we had the Pineapple Fried Rice and Panang Curry with chicken. This food was so good, we ordered entrées to go. After talking to Andrea, we learned that they are a family run restaurant with strong ties to Thailand and they have been at this location for 5 years. This place is about 45 minutes from where I live, but that won't stop us from coming back!
