Tasu Noodle Bar, opened in September 2023, serves up a delicious fusion of Thai food and Japanese ramen alongside other popular Asian dishes. Their focus on high-quality ingredients ensures a flavorful and satisfying meal, perfect for those craving a taste of adventure.
This is our second time visiting this restaurant. It's very convenient to the neighboring hotels. We wanted some noodles, perfect on a cold winter day.
The curry noodles were absolutely delicious! The fresh lime perfectly complemented the rich, flavorful broth. You can select additions for your ramen, but the bok choy that comes in it is so refreshing, blanched just right, not overcooked. You can pick your protein of choice. I selected tofu. There was a reasonable amount included, but the pieces definitely were not bite size, which made it difficult to eat. Even though it was messy, it was worth it. Some of the ingredients were a bit strange to me -- the mushrooms were one of the strangest things I've seen. The bamboo had a unique taste, probably a different species than I'm accustomed to. My take on the curry ramen is that it needed a bit more curry flavor (it was a little too subtle) and the spice level was well below what I prefer. I'll definitely go for thai spicy next time.
I had some of the other dishes on a previous visit, and those items were just ok, easily forgettable, but the ramen is definitely on point, especially on a bone chilling day.
The customer service leaves a lot to be desired, so adjust your expectations. If you focus on the food itself - speaking only about the ramen, you should have a decent experience.
Enjoyed our weeknight dinner at this establishment. The ambience is cozy and the staff are welcoming. We went there for Ramen in a cold night and were not disappointed. We tried the miso ramen with chashu pork. The ramen soup had depths of flavor and the vegetables were wonderful. The chashu pork was juicy and tender. But I got only two slices. I would have loved a little more of the delicious pork. We also tried the yellow curry ramen with tofu. The soup was fantastic. The coconut was prominent and made the soup light and delicious. The crispy noodles were fun. The firm tofu had an amazing texture. We also tried the bao bun tofu for our appetizer. It was a little too sweet for our palate. Overall had a great experience and we are happy that we have such a great ramen place in the neighborhood.
My son had been wanting to try ramen, so we decided to come here! It was a great experience! The waitress was helpful explaining things and when I told her what he was kind of looking for, she pointed out the best option. I ordered the orange peel chicken and it was very good! I love how fresh everything was. My son really enjoyed his ramen and definitely wants to come back!
I got the Pad Tai w/chicken. Good food, no real issues, but not exceptional. The Chicken was a little tough and a lit of seeds that made it crunchy chewy. The flavoring was very good.
I got it to-go and the service was quick. The decor is modern and the restaurant is clean.
I would go back, but would probably try something else.
Hidden gem tucked away off Mt Moriah rd with respectable ramen (loved by kids) and super Authentic THAI food.
Ordered their Pad Thai and Rad Na (it's on their secret menu). Pad Thai had great texture, chewy noodles, fresh notes. Could use more sour flavor but it regardless hits the spot.
Rad Na isn't as commonly known but it was excellently executed. Noodles have wok hei and the gravy is super flavorful with chunks of silken egg.
Ordered a chicken teriyaki ramen for the kids and they Devoured it. The vegetables are fresh and the broth is comforting. The folks are nice to bring extra bowls.
Fried enoki appetizer is delicious.
They also have duck as a protein option!
This place is great!! I went at 6:45 pm on a Saturday and no one was there. Why not????? This place is authentic, tasty, and well-priced. I have lived in Japan before and this food really took me back. One thing I loved was the soft-shelled crab with the “house special sauce” which was phenomenal! I got “medium” noodles but they had a kick! In a good way! I cannot say enough about this place. If I lived in Durham, I would be here 3 days a week!!

Excellent food and service
We got take out from Tasu for dinner and it is our new favorite noodle restaurant! I had the rad na which I highly recommend trying- it's a noodle soup that is super flavorful and hard to find at most Thai places. We also had tonkotsu ramen which was great. Definitely recommend checking this place out!
Don’t let the 4 star rating stop you from going- order the tonkotsu. Best place to order ramen in this area!!
Decided to try this place out. It did not disappoint. The crab Rangoon were great. You are a lot in one order. The bao buns with shrimp was great as well. I had the teriyaki chicken ramen, hot. It was great. The broth was amazing and the spice was perfect, not for the faint of heart but definitely good for spice lovers. The customer service wasn't spectacular but wasn't bad either. I think they just have a small amount of people working. Ultimately I loved it and will go back.

Great food and service loved it 🔥

The food here is always delicious. The staff always friendly and helpful. My only issue is their use of styrofoam containers for hot takeout orders. The heat melts the container and my food now contains styrofoam. Please stop using styrofoam!
Great meat quality, great ramen, great service
I've been wanting to come here for a min and I'm so glad I finally stopped in. I had the Curry Ramin, it's some of the best I've ever had. The curry was nice and thick, noodles were cooler to perfection and the portion was huge! Absolutely love this place will definitely be back soon
Great food and service.
My daughter and I had noodles. It was exceptionally good and fresh! The service was great. They have vegan and gluten free options for most of their dishes. Definitely a hidden gem in Durham. Will come back again.
We love this place! Tons of options for vegetarians and omnivores! Great ramen, pad thai, pad see ew, and chicken wings. The service is excellent👍. The owner knew I wasn't feeling well and brought me some warm ginger tea with my togo order, so kind ❤️
Foodie group recommended this place has good pad thai. Very interesting because it was the most bland pad thai I’ve ever had. Overall, very bland and underwhelming.
Good food, appropriate sized portions
I got the Pad Tai w/chicken. Good food, no real issues, but not exceptional. The Chicken was a little tough and a lit of seeds that made it crunchy chewy. The flavoring was very good.
I got it to-go and the service was quick. The decor is modern and the restaurant is clean.
I would go back, but would probably try something else.
The food was delicious and there were lots of gluten free options. Would definitely go back.
I was hesitant at first, as it doesn’t look like much from the outside and there’s a defunct fast food joint across the way, but when I walked in, I was sold. Lots of happy diners! Fast service, tasty food, with numerous options. I had the Pad Thai and was happy with my choice. Good value for money here.
Absolutely scrumptious. We got the shrimp tempura, Takoyaki, Gojujang ramen, and Vegetable Ramen. Everything was on point, from the smokiness of the takoyaki, to the spice level of our ramens. I personally loved the music they had playing in the restaurant! R&B and Ramen, an unexpected pairing, but welcome. Come with an open mind! They cook with their hearts here.
Amazing! It's walking distance from our hotel so we went both nights. The tonaktsu ramen is incredibly complex in flavor notes. I was told they use many components and lots of time to make it and that shows. I'm gluten-free but my daughter isn't and we both thought our versions were delicious. Staff was very accommodating to my gluten-free needs. We also tried the dumplings, pad thai, chicken teriyaki ramen, and spring rolls. All were delicious and great value. My daughter was thrilled to get a Shirley Temple. Wonderful restaurant!!
Ramen and sherbert are amazing. Great place.
We love Tasu for it's good food, quick service and friendly staff! Do try it for dine in or take out! Be sure to try the Thai Tea - they have a green version now, too!
Quite awesome food. Get the pork ribs when they have them. Tom yum also awesome - teleported me back to Thailand.
Broth was salty .
Excellent food and service. Very family friendly. I came for lunch on a cold rainy day and tried the duck ramen. Just what the Dr ordered on such a day. The curry ramen was excellent.
We went here since it was close to our hotel. We were more than pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. If you like oriental noodle dishes like Ramen or Pad Thai this is a great place to check out. Our waitress was pleasant, fast, and efficient. The decor is not very fancy but the food more than makes up for it.
Super friendly staff and delicious food. I do think it is a little pricey and their store hours could be better. Highly recommend coming here!
It was fast great service and very good food
Amazing food. My favorite is the Pad Thai. Looking forward to trying more.
Insane experience! We can’t wait to come back
I stop here regularly and try the different noodle bowls, all of which are flavorful, complex, and filling. Many spice levels are offered depending on your tastes. Can't go wrong by sampling the entire menu!
Wonderfully authentic and delicious ramen and fried rice dishes. I also love the appetizers and Thai tea and Thai coffee drinks. My kids also love the deserts.
This is my favorite place for ramen. I've had several ramen dishes with all being very good; never disappointed. Their shrimp bao buns are also great. Customer service is awesome always a pleasant atmosphere. This is a must go to, you won't be disappointed.
Fantastic food, lovely service, and nice atmosphere! I love this place!!!! Rinda is the best!!
Very tasty!
This place is so tasty! Best Pad Thai in Durham hands down.
Not welcoming at all. Came in today and was not greeted yet the person who came in a couple minutes behind me was. Walked right out. I can’t stand horrible customer service
I’ve been here several times now, tried several of the ramens. Great food and great experience each time. The manager is really attentive and has made great recommendations as well. I’m a fan, for sure.
The food was great and it was quick and not crowded. Best part is they've a decent healthy kid's menu so they can get noodles w/chicken instead of the usual. All three adult meals were delicious and we'll be going back. Serving sizes great so leftovers for lunch.
Delicious food and excellent service! I really appreciated the accommodations they make to dietary restrictions too - highly recommend to those looking for gluten-free ramen!
Got a simple beef ramen, was some of the best I ever had, staff was super friendly and attentive, and the food was so filling but so worth it.
The food was SO good. We tried the crispy shrimp bao bun, the Japanese calamari, Thai beef jerky, shrimp pad Thai, beef ramen, and chicken curry ramen, and the strawberry mocha icecream. Favorites were the bao bun, Thai beef jerky and curry ramen. The dipping sauce that came with the calamari was awesome. Service was fast & atmosphere was welcoming— very excited to come back!
Fantastic food! Highly recommend the Thai Beef Jerky app and the Shrimp Pad Thai, but can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Best food and service. We will be coming and telling our friends, for sure
Excellent food! Fresh, authentic. We will definitely be making this a regular habit
Delicious Tonkatsu ramen! 🍜
Very good noodle bar. I got the Duck Ramen to go as I was staying in the hotel right next door. It was very yummy and great portion sizes. Will be back whenever I'm in Durham.
The Ramen is fantastic and very reasonably priced. All the appetizers are great. No complaints whenever I go here.
Great Shoyu and Tonkatsu Ramen! We've been on a hunt since moving into the area and this place is the best we've found yet!
First time here, really enjoyed the ramen and the bao buns! We will definitely be back
We had an amazing dinner here with friends. Thai steamed dumplings, summer rolls, drunken noodles and pad Thai. Everything was super fresh and delicious. Service was wonderful. Will definitely go again. We had several people tell us to make sure to order the Thai dishes. They’re the best!
Tasu ( on Watkins Road next to Freddy's hamburgers on 15-501 in Durham ) is excellent. Very casual and beautiful room. The ramen bowls are tasty and there are quite a few varieties. The broth is very good. They now offer Thai noodles...pad thai, drunken noodles, pad see-ew, fried rice, etc. Absolutely delicious. The thai beef jerky is also a treat. Make no mistake...this place is now operated by new folks / chefs. I don't know about the previous menu ( back in early 2023 ) but NOW...it's all good. It's fresh, on point and the staff is wonderful. Having traveled to Japan and SE Asia many times I can give the thumbs up on Tasu. Nice spot to eat lunch solo or bring a large group of friends at night. I , along with many friends are happy that it's here!
Absolutely delicious! I loved eating here and I’ll definitely be back soon.
Great service and fantastic food
I placed an order and only got half my order. I was such in a rush, when i got home i didn’t even receive the most expensive item i ordered. Such a bummer. And of course the restaurant closed soon after. I’m not from here so this was a disappointment!
Really good ramen and excellent service.
Good food. Good service.
I was very disappointed in my experience. Poor quality of food.
Tasu underwent a change for the better. I see a lot less variety from trying to be a lot of different things to now focus on being a really good Ramen restaurant. The food was delicious and full of fresh ingredients (chicken curry ramen, level 3 spicy). I like that anything on the menu can be set to spicy levels 1-5. Very friendly staff. Great options and flavors for Ramen. I will come again for sure.
Had second meal this week from Tasu Noodle Bar. Tried the Curry Ramen and the Tonkotsu Ramen and both were freaking delicious.
This place is great! I love their ramen and I got a delicious peach soda. The woman who helped us out was great and so nice.
I’ve been meaning to try here for a while, and it was delicious! I got the duck ramen (spicy), and it was the best ramen I’ve ever had. The food came out quick, and the staff was very kind.
So so delicious!
My old 5 star review was from before they changed their menu completely and got rid of all their yummy food for ramen 🤢
No thanks!
I ordered the tonkotsu ramen which was the most bland ramen I've ever had. The broth had almost no flavor like they had diluted it with half water, could barely taste it.
I had the gochujang ramen and it was delicious! The ambience is elegant and great for a casual dinner. It’s a must try place if you are craving for ramen!
It gave me diarrhea
was tasty and i loved the music they played!
Always greeted with the best service and served some of the best food
The food here is really good! And our server was also very nice and welcoming :) Y'all should come and try them out, they are rarely ever busy!
Some of the best Ramen in town!
They revamped this place to just a noodle bar I think? Not a lot of visitors yet but the duck ramen was fantastic, I'll try to let people know about this one!
I used to come here all the time to eat and for their drinks while charging my Tesla. But to day I decide to go in used the bathroom and pay for a drink but soon as I was greeted there was no customers in the establishment and I said I would like to use the bathroom first they said no it’s new Managment customers only I said again I just want to use the bathroom first. I took it that they didn’t want me in their establishment so I left hostile environment. Not for people of color.
I am so happy to take my Family and Friends here, the atmosphere is perfect, service is spot on, The food I can’t describe how delicious this menu is!! You will not be disappoint!!
They just changed this place to a full noodle bar and we love it! Their appetizers are good! We got fried calamari and Takoyaki! I got seafood Tom Yum. The taste is quite unique not too sour like regular Tomyum cup. My husband got Gochujung Ramen and he loves it! We would definitely come back again! Worth a try!
First time here, and I’m definitely coming back.
Grabbed a Bao Bun, some Fried Calamari, and the Curry Ramen to-go. The food was delicious and I would recommend Curry Ramen if you’re into Thai curry flavors! The place inside is super clean and has a great vibe when I walked in. Can’t wait to sit down and enjoy a meal here next time!
This is the restaurant that Durham/Chapel Hill was missing. Excellent ramen and service. Now, I don’t have to drive all the way to Cary for good ramen!
Excellent food with exceptional service and reasonable prices. I would highly recommend.
Now this place is excellent. I like how you can order online ahead of time. It makes it easy to get in and get out. The variety of food they have impressed me the most I was shocked they had Poke and plenty of other things. I’ve been to this place twice. The first time I had a poke bowl, and the second time I had the wings. The wings were delicious! I ordered honey garlic, and it was a great choice.
Food came out fresh. Service was very prompt and professional. It was just kind of expensive depending on what you order. The strawberry lemonade was not worth 5$.
Looks great and taste great!
I should have read the reviews of this restaurant before attempting to eat here. They refused to allow me to customize the protein I wanted in my meal. I had asked for Steak and Shrimp Hibachi and was told that I could only have Shrimp and Chicken. I really wanted steak and shrimp so I saw that there was a Pad Thai dish that had Steak, Shrimp and Chicken. I had asked for Steak and Shrimp Pad Thai and the employee said "You don't want the chicken?" I said no but got the chicken in it anyway. The steak was horrible tasting and full of gristle, the shrimp was over cooked and tasted awful. I spent $50 for two people. We both threw our food away. The people running this place don't know what they are doing.
Food was good but they told us they no longer had sushi (one of the main reasons we went). We got the chicken lo mien with the spring roll, crab Rangoons(6) and two drinks (they have Pepsi products) all for $35. It was a little expensive but you get a ton of food. Food was good. The atmosphere is calm and quite.
I was heading to Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers for lunch when I passed Tasu Express since they’re both located in the same parking lot. I got excited when I saw the photos of poke in the window. I’m now sad to say that I wasted my money. I ordered a lychee fruit tea with passion fruit boba which was way too sweet. In fact, I asked the cashier to add some Sprite to take the sweetness away, but that didn’t help. I ordered the Louisiana rub wings, which were just okay, and the Pad Thai noodles combination with chicken, shrimp, and beef since they’re weren’t serving poke. Unfortunately, I ended up throwing my Pad Thai in the trash because the cook used way too much fish and soy sauces, which overpowered the taste of the dish. I really hated wasting my money like that, especially since the dish had large portions of beef, chicken, and jumbo shrimp, but I didn’t want to deal with high blood pressure as an outcome of my lunch. Anyway, I don’t recommend this restaurant at all, that is, until they change their recipes. In other words, save your money and go somewhere else. Lastly, I wish I could have been entitled to a refund.
Great food! Misleading name though. Tasu is primarily a Vietnamese restaurant with Pho, Bahn Mi, etc. It has some American Asian staples like Hibachi and sesame chicken. and it has wings as well, but doesn’t even have Poke. Highly recommended as a Vietnamese place!
Ordered 6 Wing Combo with half Honey Garlic Wings and half Sweet Viet with Fried Rice. Served with a smile. Food was hot and and everything was super yummy! I will be back to try the Poke Bowls. They look delicious.
Solid food, decent price! Plenty of options! Typical Asian/Chinese take out menu, plus bento plates, plus sushi rolls (BOGO), plus WINGS with great flavor selections. Oh and milkshakes, smoothies, and Boba. And that's not all, Poké bowls. Sweet tea on point too.
Just try it for yourself 😎
Best wings I’ve had in a long time. Staff friendly and professional.
I came in today at 4:20 pm to order food stood at the refrigerator till 4:32pm and the staff was playing a joking in the kitchen very unprofessional and I will
Not be coming back
Wings are delicious. Definitely a must try if you love wings. Fast and friendly service with huge portions. Worth the money, definitely!!!!
I have actually now walked out of this place twice. I will not be going back.
I didn't even walk out cause of the food quality was bad or anything. The cashier was standing at the register with her boyfriend ignoring everybody who walked in the door. And all the women in the kitchen looked at me, brought out food, and then walked back into the kitchen - never even acknowledging me.
I stood there for a few minutes before giving up and leaving.
This is the second time I have been here where this happened with the same exact staff.
A business is only as strong as its weakest link. In this scenario, the weakest link is whoever is doing the hiring.
Very friendly staff and clean restaurant. They food is really good. One of my favorite restaurants.
We got two poke bowls and some sushi. My poke bowl wasn’t bad, but I’ve had better locally. My daughter’s sushi was made with overcooked/wet rice and my son didn’t enjoy the rice that came with his poke bowl. I doubt will come back.
OMG, just go!!!!!!!!!!!
This place was amazing when it first opened but now there’s these 2 Mexican woman who are rude and can barely speak English messed up my order over charged me it’s just been a horrible experience lately even the food is just bland and now the same.
Great customer service and enjoyed all my food!
The fish was slimy & the wings were dry & the manger refused to give us a refund or a switch of food 0 stars also we spent $75 what a waste !
Got a poke bowl, the rice wasn’t really sticky rice. Food was pretty bland. Boba wasn’t really that good either. Bummer.
I wish I had read the reviews before eating there. We just happened to be at the UPS Store next door and actually walked into Freddies, but it was freezing in there so we decided to go to Tasu. I got a Poke bowl and my husband got Hibachi shrimp. I have eaten dozens of Poke bowls before. This one was terrible. The brown rice was clumpy and dried out, there was absolutely NO flavor at all, even though I added the wasabi mayo and ginger dressing. I added two soy sauces just to get some sort of flavor. It was by far the worst Poke bowl I've ever had. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the Hibachi shrimp was good, though the rice on my husband's plate (brown rice again) was also clumpy and dried out. The price is ridiculous for what you get. We should have gotten back into the car and driven down the road to a different restaurant.
I never really am the type to write reviews but honestly feel like I need to. Before I ordered we asked if the sushi was cooked and cashier lady said it was semi cooked then Got the Philadelphia sushi it was raw as hell. The orange chicken was bland and the crab Rangoon tastes like it came out the freezer and thrown in the oven. Overall did not taste good…thankfully didn’t et far and went back and returned the food. Never again
Avoid ordering online! And maybe avoid altogether?
Their website isn't set up in a way to take the orders properly, and the customer is blamed on the back end, at least that was my experience. I ordered a Bento Box with Sesame Chicken, and the website *seems* to also offer a way to add additional protein, like Honey Shrimp, which I did. I was shocked to learn that the extra protein option is actually a seafood upcharge, making it my primary entree choice. That would have been fine, except that it doesn't then void out the original order of sesame chicken. You can see my receipt in the photos, and understand why I believed that I had ordered Sesame Chicken with a side of Honey Shrimp. It seemed like the staff understood the tech glitch, but still wanted to explain to me why *I* was in the wrong. To their credit, after I pressed the issue, they did give me the sesame chicken at no additional charge, which I believe is fair based on how their website is setup. Oddly enough, Honey Shrimp isn't even an option on the in-person menu in the Bento Box section!
Bottom Line: It was a lot of hassle for food that's only okay, and staff that are more concerned with defending their malfunctioning systems rather than immediately accomodating a (repeat) customer. If this place weren't five minutes from my house I probably wouldn't have given them this many chances, as the story in this review is just one of several different customer service gaffes that should have been worked through in their first year of operation.
Had a bad experience with the ramen. The soup base could use some improvement.
Basic menu and bad service. They refused to sell me ingredients that they had readily available. It was a weird experience. Would not return or recommend.
Had started to slip a little, but still good
They have very tasty vegetable spring rolls.
Very tasty. We will be back.
We stopped by this location because they had traditional Asian food as well as poke, but upon viewing their menu it was safe to say they had a little bit of everything, Asian and non-Asian. It would probably be a solid spot to stop at if you have a group of people who want different things. Anyway, this review is based on the kung pao chicken and poke.
I got two of the fried chicken spring rolls to start, which were good, but nothing to write home about. After that, I tried the miso soup that came with my kung pao chicken. It was tasty, a little heavy on the pepper side of things, but I prefer it that way anyway. It was nice to not have to season the miso so that it tasted good, as I usually have to do elsewhere. I got the kung pao chicken extra spicy, with extra broccoli, and a side of lo mein and it was delicious. The portions were solid and the kung pao chicken was fantastic. Easily the best lo mein I've had in years, actually seasoned and sauced, with pieces of shallots and garlic, unlike a lot of this boiled spaghetti and soy sauce places try to pass off as lo mein. I would definitely get this item again. My partner's poke was a solid portion and she said that it was fresh and delicious, that she'd get it again. They were even able to accommodate her gluten allergy, with gluten-free soy sauce available. The only downside I'd say is that my meal took a while to come out when we were the only people in the restaurant, but at least it was made to order and fresh. I can't speak for the tons of other items they have on their menu, but I'd definitely give this place a try!
Got the wings. Wasn't much flavor to them. Fries that came with them were over cooked also no flavor. Also got the California roll wasn't too bad. Restaurant needs some cleaning, especially the restrooms
I used to love Tasu Express - they had very reasonably priced meals and provided a ton of food (including a veggie mix and fried rice alongside up to two different meat entree choices). Unfortunately, their entrees are now limited to one meat and are almost double the price of the previous menu. It seems that they are more in line with Shiki Sushi prices. The value of Tasu Express has greatly diminished in my opinion, and I hardly ever eat here anymore given that there are much more affordable options for similar cuisine (previously I ate here every week or two). It’s unfortunate that the menu has shifted in this direction.
Edit: response to owner. Giving me your phone number to a line where no one picks up is useless. Just price your menu fairly and give a reasonable amount of food. Not that hard. Not sure why you increased prices nearly 50% when simultaneously decreasing food volume by the same. Your restaurant is not a good value - Shiki Sushi at least has the environment and wait staff to justify these prices.
PLEASANTLY SURPRISED BY THE PAD THAI !!!!
LOTS OF FLAVOR
Dump your current poke restaurant. Can not believe how much protein I just saw this person put in my bowl. Best poke I have had.
It was good and quick. The place was clean and plates were actually quite nice. I'll stop short of amazing 5 ⭐, but no complaints.
I came in today and ordered almost 60 dollars worth of food. One of them was a roll and for a California roll it was pretty expensive. I noticed the BOGO free at the top just as she was in the middle of making the roll so i asked her if that applied to all the rolls and she said yes. So i asked her if i could add on another roll. She told me "no, it's too late". Um really? How is it too late, what exactly would it cost you to add on the free roll that comes with my other roll according to the advertisement? She also had a passive aggressive attitude, you could tell she was just a miserable person. OWNER: I wish your employees would wear name tags so we can report to you who is messing up your business reputation with their terrible customer service. We're left to describe them in other ways which is not that helpful. She was a maybe in her 20's Mexican woman. You really need to put more effort into addressing these concerns because I notice I'm not the first bad review due to customer service here. With the way things are with businesses shutting down due to the pandemic, you can't afford to not be addressing it. Especially when your food is not the problem.
Now opens at 11:30am, just to inform :) very good potstickers & bento boxes!
Got food poisoning after eating here. Had a poke bowl. Do not go here. The health inspector needs to pay this place a serious visit
Good food for good prices !
The food and experience were both surprisingly bad. I would recommend they have a to-go line or at least a person who hands out the to-go orders because I had to wait in a long line before they could just hand me the bag from the counter. Ordered the crispy sesame chicken to-go, and it just wasn't good and I couldn't eat much of it. The chicken wasn't crispy and it was just a dull color and tasteless. The hot and sour soup also wasn't good and came in such a small short cup. Maybe their other food is better but I would tell my friends to go to other Asian restaurants before this one.
4 stars because the food was good. Sushi couldve had more crab in it. Portion size is not what I expected. The spring roll is super tiny. We paid almost $70 basically for a "snack" because the portion size was for a toddler.
Worst tasting food I had for a long time. Everything salty and the portions crazy low literally 3 pieces of chicken. Don’t ever get the hibachi and pad Thai. If I wasn’t hungry I would just dump it trash first bit!!
It was great lil busy but they handled the situation like pros and the prices are not bad 6 wings, drink and fries$10.53
A few months ago, Tasu added wings to the menu. The wings are very good. They come in so many different flavors -- garlic Parmesan, Louisiana rub, and honey garlic are my favorite. The wings are a good size, fried and crispy. They also have chicken sandwiches, combo meals and sides.
Excellent! Just excellent. The food is cooked fresh. The restaurant is super clean. The staff is amazing. How does this place not have a line outside the door. And oh my god do not try the mango milkshake. It is addictive. I've been back three times this week.
Poke bowls are always very good. However, they are a bit slow when ordering a hot dish. Overall, consistently a good experience
DO NOT EAT AT Tasu Express Wing and Poke! I ordered sushi and this is what I was given. This is not sushi! I repeat...This is what Tasu Express Wing and Poke in Durham gave me and when i placed an order. And when I complained about the foods quality, foul smell and overall poor experience, no one cared and they wouldnt give me a refund. I was swindled out of $28 for something that looked liked this and smelled even worst. The food was brown along the sides and just thrown together which indicated that it was not fresh. My point is DO NOT EAT at TASU EXPRESS WING and POKE.
The food is awful The food quality is hideous and the foul smell coming from the food is sickening. Their customer service is awful as well.
The food was not good. Was 1st given the wrong order. They then picked the shrimp that I didn't order out and gave it back to me. I know because I could still see and taste the sauce from the shrimp they removed. The steak tasted like deer meat, it was not a good experience at all. I would never go back. My family of 4 paid almost $70 and it was not worth it at all.
Absolute TRASH. I got some chicken hibachi to-go. Basic chicken hibachi. When I got home I looked at it, and it was some basic essentials thrown together. I started trying to make the most of it because it already looked very dry. Chunks of green pepper were thrown in there. Not a big deal, I can cut it up and fix it. Two pieces of broccoli, about what I expect. BUT THE CHICKEN WAS DISGUSTING. There was no care taken in cooking it. It was chewy, like when someone cooks raw chicken too quickly. And there wasn't a speck or crumb or essence of seasoning anywhere in the whole plate. Like I fo real learned my lesson with their food and now cook at home. I'm not a picky eater. I got BACK in my car with pajamas on to take this mess back and no one has refunded me either. Don't waste time or money.
Update: calling this number only causes more frustration as it will send you through the same circle of unaccountability.
This is my favorite spot to eat at in Durham..very great cooked salmon sushi is to die for..but the also have awesome wings and hibachi
I've only had the poke here, which is delicious and fresh every time. Surprisingly good for a fast food place that also features lots of fried food. Anyway, the poke is awesome, and the fact that the place is steps away from the supercharger is icing on the cake.
Amazing. Taro boba tea, bang bang shrimp, steak, honey chicken, and fried rice was amazing, and surprisingly well priced. 9/10, would recommend
Surprisingly good, fresh food. Got the Hibachi Chicken with noodles, it was delicious. I only wish I had seen the sauce packed with my meal, because it too was delicious despite being consumed on its own. I'd go back.
Order hibachi chicken and house fried rice. Food was meh, sushi was meh, service was ok. Nothing like the full restaurant in Brier Creek. Don't plan to go back again!
Tried a new place tonight because we were in the area. Didn't look at the reviews. If I had I probably wouldn't be sitting in my bathroom for the past 30 minutes with diarrhea because I wouldn't have eaten here. My wife had wings and was fine. I tried the bagel roll. Not sure that it could have been the fish because it was mostly fried bread. Hardly any sushi in it. Too many other places in Durhem to try this one again. Sorry.
Never have I had a bad experience or been disappointed! The food portions, price but most importantly taste can't be beat! Not sure why it's rated below 4 stars but it's a 5 in my book!
My experience and interaction with this employee “Mercedes G” at Tasu Express Asian Grill & Poke on tonight was such that I am certain not to patronize this location ever again. And if TOM, is really the name of the owner, perhaps some customer relations training is warranted. IJS
I’m not sure if anything will change in this individual’s people skills, but if we as consumers don’t expose it, it certainly won’t change.
Was in Chapel Hill over the weekend. Wasn't to hungry just wanted to get something light to eat. The food wasn't bad and I liked that my food was freshly cook and not sitting around in a container for long periods if time waiting on someone to order.
Inexpensive interesting and tasty!
I’m not sure if the ownership has changed but the food wasn’t good at all. Also they forgot my bang bang shrimp and I live too far to go back!
*I had the hibachi shrimp and steak with noodles. Wasn’t good at all.
*The passion fruit Lemonade tastes like medicine
*The hibachi shrimp with fried rice had a decent amount of rice and maybe 5 shrimp (very cheap)
* my bang bang shrimp was missing but I’m unsure if I would’ve even liked it anyway
* I ordered sushi and I don’t think the young lady even knew what she was doing or even cared about how she made it or presentation
$68 WASTED! I won’t be back and that’s unfortunate because I really used to like this place before the pandemic!
Fresh and good
This place was nice! I'm gonna have to try it again, for further inspection. Only tried one thing, this time.
My daughter had Sushi, in which it did not taste good. Like the rice was over cooked. The soup had no flavor at all. I kept having to add packets to give it some flavor. The Vietnamese Iced Coffee was the best thing I had there!
Lunch was tasty and quick. Excellent place to pop in on a lunch break
Got 20 wings. Place was empty but orders were picked up multiple times while I was there. Super clean and all the poke ingredients looked amazing. Relatively diverse menu. I am doing keto otherwise I would love to get other stuff.
This food WAS DISGUSTING THE HABACHI PLATES ARE NOTHING COMPARED TO THE REAL JAPANESE HABACHI GRILLS. THEY HAD A NASTY FISH TASTE ON EVERYTHING, IT CAME WITH NO TYPE OF SAUCE PERIOD, THE TAKI SAUCE, NO BROWN SWEET SAUCE..NOTHING!!! VERY UPSET AND FOR THAT PRICE OF SPENDING $18. VERY DISSATISFIED!!
Update: I called the number "owner" left on reply at1pm on Monday. I get lady who doesn't speak English who says " no owner here "
Fantastic... When y'all close down, I hope something good comes in
Food was very scarce... Service was horrible, nobody speaks English. They tried to charge me for ketchup... And "we no have mayonnaise"
Who sells chicken sandwiches... And doesn't have mayo???
Frustrating
Bad experience, ordered a poke bowl a bit overpriced and Miso soup, food overall was not fresh specially rice and tuna. miso soup tasted very salty probably because it has been boiled so many times i had to trash it. They have other asian plates didn’t try. First and last time
