What a disappointing experience. I’ve been coming to Rise for the past four years and while I understand, it’s a busy night there should be a host present at all time in the front. I was waiting to be seated like other parties. A couple walks in behind me and being impatient since no host was present, cut in front of me and sat themselves at a booth. When the host finally came up, she asked if I had a reservation and that there’s a wait as it’s fully booked. I explained that the couple sat themselves and therefore should wait like everyone else. She was very dismissive and said she wasn’t here and didn’t see anything, as if that makes it okay. She proceeded to not do anything about it so I decided not to give my business and probably will not do in the future. Customer service is just as important as the food.

The food is good and the outdoor area nice but part of the experience is ruined by the extremely rude hostess. No manners at all. Shabby appearance, no greeting. Horrible experience. I don’t understand how a restaurant can hire this type of person as a hostess. We have had the same experience multiple times.

The samurai roll was the best sushi I’ve ever had anywhere and that includes fresh off the boat rolls in California! Service was excellent and our large party felt very comfortable by the gorgeous fish tank.

Father’s Day dinner, please save your money and go another restaurant. Food was horrible, service mediocre and just not a pleasing experience.

Let me start off by saying that the service was garbage from the jump. I arrived and asked for a table for two outside, they gave me one that didn't face the water and told me I needed a reservation for those and that they were already taken. I can tell you for the rest of the night, the two tables in front of us were empty.

THERE WERE MICE, YES THAT'S RIGHT, MICE. Several of them at the table next to ours. We were done with our meal and I didn't expect the server to do anything about it but she'd been rushing us (despite the empty tables) but we told her and she LAUGHED IN OUR FACES. She asked if I took a photo or video.

Then I saw one run from one table to another table. But what's most disgusting out of everything is the fact that when we got to the restaurant, there was an odor by the ramp to get in. Having been there before, I genuinely thought that one of the koi fish had died, and that would be no fault of the restaurant's, but as my friend and I left, and felt the pang of that stench, I immediately realized what it was.... IT WAS A DEAD RAT!!!!

Ordered here on Uber eats tonight delivery. There was no chopsticks, no napkins, no soy sauce in the bag. Unbelievable. Have never had that happen with sushi delivery before. Food was average..sushi quality decent not amazing.

The place was nice no complaints there. Our waitress was really nice and attentive, gave suggestions when asked. My plum wine was really nice and my friend's lychee martini was nice and strong no complaints there. The sushi was good...i also had the Hong Kong noodles... well on any day you can give me asian food . any one of them Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Vietnamese, you name it...I just love Asian food...I love the different flavors to just slap me.... the noodles were kinda bland for Asian food which is why I gave 4 stars.

Great food

We were so disappointed in the tuna rolls! They were mushy and not like regular tuna rolls we eat at other sushi places. Who knows what we were actually eating?
The servers weren’t very friendly either. We won’t be going back. Not worth the money. 😩

The. Worst. Service!! Food was decent but the server was so nasty that the meal wasn’t even enjoyable. The worst of it was complaining multiple times that we didn’t ask for an additional bowl to split a soup when we placed the ordered. Service has not been great in the past but today was the worst it’s been. In general, if you sit outside, you are pretty much neglected.

I have been coming here since 2020 and always enjoying my Deluxe Shrimp tempura rolls with brown rice . My kids love rainbow rolls. Always fresh, delicious and fast. Nice service, lovely and welcoming hostess.

The food is delicious there and recently priced for the quantity you get. The staff is extra friendly in the environment outside is very comfortable. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for high-quality sushi.

The food was not bad was actually pretty good but this service was terrible we had like 5 different servers serve us throughout our stay and half of them didn't listen/ had to keep repeating ourselves to them I actually asked one server for spicy Mayo and locked eyes with him thru the window and saw him put his hands in his pockets until he realized he forgot about me. Hostest was dismissive and didn't even greet us/say goodbye...just awkward eye contact. Overall head scratcher of a night...at least our food was good 🤷‍♂️

We ate inside the restaurant (instead of outside) for the first time the other day. Noise level was a little high but acceptable. Service was excellent, as was food except for the Mongolian Beef, which was overwhelmed by onions. Excellent nigiri and rolls.

Food poisoning I strongly suggest do not go to this restaurant go to lemongrass if you pass it step on the accelerator my significant other and myself have never been so sick when we called them up to tell them that we got food poisoning from the restaurant the woman Could care less. We were concerned when we got there to begin with to be quite honest because the restaurant was empty. It was Sunday at 8 o'clock. That being said we were sick for two days after this restaurant as I said, do not go there go to Lemongrass step on the accelerator and pass by rise. We spent more money on Charmin than the total bill. We would've been better off eating the Koi out of the pond. The worst sushi experience ever !!!

Absolutely delicious sushi and everything else. Sushi is fantastic, today I tried Goma Chicken really amazing big dish you can share absolutely delicious. Highly recommend, everything I tried so far was amazing. Coming back for sure especially for Goma Chicken.

Best sushi in South Florida. My favorite signature rolls are Ninja roll and Spicy Rainbow roll.

This is a great joint in Boca Pointe. Seating is available inside or outside by the water. The atmosphere is relaxed. Sit wherever you want. There is a separate room available for small to medium-sized parties. Service is fast, but they do not rush to serve everything at once. My food choices are TomKha soup with coconut milk and shrimp, fried dumplings, and spicy salmon roll. The soup is to die for. You can request it mild to really spicy.

Our sushi unch here was excellent. We had the Crouching Tiger Roll, a Hamachi Scallion roll and 3 orders of sashimi--Tuna, Salmon Belly and Hamachi belly. The rolls were excellent and the fish was fresh. The Crouching Tiger roll was exceptiona. The tuna sashimi was not good but the Hamachi Belly and Salmon Belly were fresh, tasty and delicious. Price was very reasonable. This is definitely one of the better places in the area to get sushi.

Waterfront seating was nice, seaweed salad and edamame were good, sushi and noodles were very average and wouldn’t order again, but the real reason for the low review is the server.

This woman was unfriendly, messed up my order, and when I brought it up she just laughed it off and said, “I didn’t hear you.” Didn’t even offer to try and fix it. Then she brought the check before we were even done eating without asking if we wanted desert or anything else.

Was it so busy they were trying to make room for the line out the door, you ask?

The best part was when I tried to feed a piece of my incorrectly ordered, mediocre chicken to the snapping turtle swimming below, and it spat it out. A fitting symbolism for our experience.

This place really has gone downhill!! This used to be my favorite sushi restaurant in Boca Raton and I’m not sure what happened but it seems like management just does not care about the status of this place anymore. My partner and I went on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was basically empty. Upon entry we were greeted by rude staff members who brushed us off! Our experience with the food was horrible as well, probably the worst sushi I’ve ever had. The calamari tasted rotten and the miso soup tasted like dirty sink water. In addition to all of this, after I told our rude server about one of our rolls being inedible, he decided it would be a good idea to use the roll we didn’t like to FEED THE FISH IN THE LAKE right next to us and was laughing the whole time saying “cannibals haha.” I was legitimately horrified. I didn’t realize this establishment turned into a live feeding aquarium on Sundays. Absolutely disgusted and scarred!

A magical space for a sushi experience.

We have been customers for over 20 yrs(prior location down 18 th St). The restaurant is very nice and outside seating by the canal is good. The place is pretty big but there is always some confusion at the front for seating. They sat us at a booth my grandchildren would fit in and we are not large people. There are booths connected in the middle with a wooden divider but you you are literally a foot away from the booth next to you. The service is always bad with a few exceptions. We never saw our waitress after we ordered. The food is good but I ordered the same thing I always do and the waitress said we don’t have fried tofu just steamed which I knew was wrong and she insisted they never had fried tofu. So steamed is healthier but in all the years I always got fried tofu and the steamed was not the same at all. I noticed prices are higher like most places but Rise is kind of dishonest. I asked my waitress for soup or salad comes with the meal. Not anymore that is an extra charge now. Ok next they bring my plate which is wide and square and looked large. When I put my fork into the dish the depth was about 1/2 inch so while it looked big it was much less than I normally get. So in summary if you like bad service really no service and like overpaying for small portions than you will love Rise. I go back because my wife loves the ambiance and the food is good but way less veggies than I used to get. I am done now as there are much better options for service and food down the street.

Service was absolutely horrendous. We went on a Sunday night, wasn’t too busy. There was no one at the reception desk so we waited, and then waited some more until we finally decided to go up to the bartender to see if he could get someone, as the sign says “please wait to be seated”. Our waiter seemed very bored and not interested in being there. He didn’t even introduce himself. Food was good, but no one checked on us for the rest of the time we were there to see if we needed anything else. We ordered the check and a box, and when the waiter came back with it, he didn’t say a word! It’s a shame because it is such a beautiful place by the lake and the food is good, but who wants to return with that kind of service! Staff definitely needs to be trained more to provide better customer service!

Second visit, under delivered. The food was ok (cucumber roll was slimy, rice was cold, but gyoza was great). Service slow and just not as enjoyable as the 1st visit. Could use some tightening up.

They are the best specialty rolls that I’ve had in Florida - Miami, Naples, Palm Beach. Never thought that I’d be saying that about a sushi place in Boca. But they are that good. I can only speak to take out though - not dining in.

We had a 6:45 reservation for my husbands birthday dinner. We were seated in a side room with one other table and 5 empty tables. After being seated and sitting there for 20 mins we had to ask for server and water. We finally ordered soup and steamed chicken dumplings (picture enclosed). The waiter brought the dumplings 35 mins later, they were ice cold and served so unappealing. We asked for a manager and she came over and was not accommodating and said she would be back. In the meantime our soups came and it was tepid at best. Completely inedible! At that point we got up and left and went to a local competitor, without a reservation and had a wonderful full dining experience. We will never go to RISE again.

I love Rise sushi! Our waiter was amazing and let us take our time without us feeling rushed. The food is delicious and high quality. We sat inside because of the heat, but next time would love to go outside!

The staff was very attentive, detail oriented and fast, especially a gentleman named Wei. His custom made cocktails were refreshing. The freshly prepared sushi was delicious. The scenery was gorgeous. Needless to say, I will certainly be back for more... very soon.

Unwelcoming hosts, waiter was pretty rough in his manners, food runners were courteous tough. Order took forever to arrive and didn’t come together for everyone on the table. My roll was poorly executed: pieces way too big (see picture) that made it impossible to eat in one bite, really messy and annoying. It was not the fist time dining here but definitely the last.

I love Rise Sushi!!! For years my wife and children have dined and celebrated with friends here, even since their previous location. Everything we've ever ordered was amazing! Come check it out for yourself!

Food was okay but we were asked to leave even before our check came because they needed the table. We were there for appx 70 minutes. Disgusting. We will never go back.

Beautiful outdoor eating area, nice staff, but really bad food. Fish was like freezer burned, blender, cat food. Such a shame. It was also very expensive. Go for the ambiance, it’s lovely. Just don’t eat the food.

Ordered takeout, first time customer. The food is alright, but we ordered two different wok meals and they both tasted the same. I put both leftovers in the same dish, because they were almost identical. Maybe, their forte is in sushi, but I will look around for another restaurant, since my wife is not a fan of sushi.

Blue river roll was excellent

Nothing great. We did take out, mainly rolls. Some rolls were cold while others room temperature. This tell me the rolls are pre-made and kept cold. The rolls had similar taste even though each were very different.The wasabi looked stale as if it was left out for awhile. Overall, disappointing.

The food was decent, as there is always something on the menu for vegetarians and vegans. The service was horrible, the server yelled at us and was not accommodating at all. I did not leave him a tip. Instead, I tipped the busboy and the lady who first welcomed us and brought us water. I discussed the matter with Vivian, the owner, who was very understanding. She promised she would talk to him about his treatment of us. Not sure if we'll be back any time soon.

I’ve worked in a sushi restaurant for 5 years. The experience of eating here SUCKED. We were seating so far away from everyone else that it took a half hour for someone to come greet us. The OWNER when I tried to return the simple dish I ordered of a spicy tuna roll and spicy salmon roll told me I didn’t know how to eat it, and that’s why I didn’t like it. The roll was loose sloppy and the fish did not taste fresh. She argued with me about it, instead of just asking if I wanted anything else. Terrible experience don’t waste your money here, there are better places in Boca.

So many issues just trying to find and enter the front door only to be stopped by a hostess with an attitude. Our reservation was not honored and we were told we should have made a reservation 2 says in advance. We asked for outdoor seating but we're denied and then saw people walk in behind us and sit at tables outside. It was a very dismal attempt on our first and last attempt at dinner. Recommended by a friend, will never go back under any circumstances and friendship oli's over because of the bad taste left in our mouths about the hostile treatment. F plus

Best sushi in boca honestly. I prefer here to any of the other spots like sushi Yama bluefin etc. it’s a better price point and just fresher fish. And the staff is really nice!

Highly recommend great sushi potentially the best in Boca

Having been a VERY LOYAL customer for years (and sent many many people there) I am appalled by the reduction in serving sizes and increase in pricing.
In an effort to supplement the reduced size of the roll I ordered extra sushi pieces and was SHOCKED when the bill came and TWO pieces of sushi (tuna) cost $14!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, $7 a piece!????!
It's such a shame in the miserable economy that such an established restaurant feels the need to penalize their loyal customers with pricing like this.

Was one of my favorites spots for some years until the last couple of years, this place do not care about customers, every time we tried to eat there, it was almost like a charity from the owner to let us go in and sit down to eat, most of the time empty tables but their excuse was they were reserved for other people, until the last time we ordered vegetarian soup and other vegetarian dish, however the veggie gyoza wasn't vegetarian, they were pieces of chicken, and I think the manufacturer made a mistake but the owner was upset at me when all we wanted was the vegetarian gyoza we always ordered, apparently she ordered from a different place, we didn't know we were eating frozen food anyway. However we won't come back!! There's many places in Boca to enjoy delicious food.

Sad to say this was a second attempt before letting this one go..
The energy of this restaurant is zero. There is no pulse, the staff is not friendly and the service was poor.
The food was completely mediocre. We gave this one another chance as the location is nice. We had gyoza, completely bland. A spicy rainbow roll, which was actually bizarre. It's pretty hard to screw up a rainbow roll...i wish, in hindsight, I took a picture it was tasteless. The seaweed salad was great.
We will not be back and it looks like others may be feeling the same. It was pretty empty.

We asked straws for the cups of water and they initially told us 'no straws'. Then they served us a mojito with a straw...

You get 10 pieces per roll but quality is not on the highest end and flavour wise, it's just blah...

Service: We had a 6:30pm reservation for 9. The check-in crew is discourteous. Worse than a low-end Chinese buffet restaurant where the staff just wants to dump you at your table and run.
Our waitress took unprofessionalism to a whole new level. She was rushing us as soon as we received the menus and rudely continued to do do so. For example, she would ask if we needed something without stopping walking. Felt like a drive-by waitress.
The cooked food looks very presentable and the portiins are large, but it is bland and unflavorful.
Same with the sushi. The seafood chirashi had a bunch of sashimi dumped on a thick bed of rice.
I judge sushi restaurants on the quality of rice served with the sushi. Not very palatable.

Definitely never going back. Fyi, this was my 2nd dining experience at Rise sushi.

Best sushi in town. Always fresh and delicious.

Delicious and unique rolls! We got a chicken tempura roll that was simple but so good and another one that had peanuts in it. Delicious! We only could get an indoor table but would love to come back and sit outside!

Very busy place but the food makes it worth it.

Fantastic experience! Walked in early and they were able to fit us in despite being mostly reservation only. Sushi rolls were large and had generous portions of fish. Service was fast and on point.

Nice food. Great outdoor dining space. Huge portions. Had my favorite Curry dish. Iced Green Tea was very authentic. Rich flavor.

Typically I go to Blue Fin. First time at Rise was today.
I found the sushi as average as it comes. Ordered a special roll. Nice presentation. It was warm and mushy. Had 3 pieces and stopped. Also found the service unfriendly and uncaring.

Excellent food and great ambience. The outdoor seating is very nice, and the food is very tasty, whether it is sushi or a rice dish.

Great food and the service is amazing

Wanted to dine in at the patio area but they were full. Ambiance looks nice. I ordered Jb roll, California roll and spicy salmon roll to go. The presentation was poor, but I am no sushi expert so I am not sure if this is an expectation. All 3 rolls came in one box.The price didn't match what I got at $31.00. The fish and avocado was too much for the sushi (chunk sizes). I will try them again just to balance my views.. the taste was ok, had better

I would like to know what people are eating here that they think deserves 5 or 4 stars....or even 2 or 3. Perhaps they are just too busy enjoying their beers and wine to notice the qualify of the food.

My wife and I have lived in Boca for thirty years and we ate at Rise this evening for the first time. It was the worst sushi we have ever had. We have eaten at sushi restaurants all over Florida, including South Beach, Bal Harbor, Palm Beach, Orlando, Tampa, etc.

We started our order with the "Sushi Dinner" - 10 pieces of sushi, which came with a 'Spicy Tuna Roll" - and an Eel Roll. Simple stuff that should be easy to get right...you would think.

First of all, the rice with the sushi was way too dense and heavy - and there was way too much for the piece of fish. The rice with the Eel Roll was ice cold and hard. Sushi rice is supposed to be the star of sushi, and it should always be room temperature. If the rice isn't right it the sushi is ruined. The Spicy Tuna Roll we literally couldn't eat. The "Tuna" inside the roll was a mushy tartare.

When the waiter, who was very nice, asked "how is everything?", my wife replied with "not great, but we're trying to eat it." We told him "the rice is cold". And he said, "The rice is supposed to be cold, so it doesn't spoil the fish. It can't be hot." We were referring specifically to the Eel roll, which is never served cold.

We rarely eat out in Boca. However, we always see a full parking lot at Rise, so we thought that we would give it a try tonight, and we were very disappointed.
