Sabeing Boone King is a family-friendly Thai, Vietnamese, and sushi restaurant, offering generous portions of delicious food at an affordable price. We open at 11am and serve a full menu until 10pm.
What a great hidden gem!!! We are here visiting the area. I’ve had a lot of Thai and this could we be the best flavor I have had in the southeast. We had a combination of appetizers, sushi, pho and curries. I like it spicy, but others don’t like it hot. They were able to supply hot and regular flavorful meals. I think this restaurant is take out only. Parking to pick up orders can be a challenge, but don’t let that dissuade you.
I've been going to sabeing since it was still dine in and I had loved them and their food, but with each recent time I've gone I've just been disappointed. I've been discriminated against by workers before for no apparent reason (I'm a normal looking collage age kid) and I've seen the same workers treat other customers nicer. After experiencing that I rarely went anymore. The final nail in the coffin was tonight going in to get my food and when I got home I realized that my fried tofu, something I've gotten multiple times before and usually love, was almost entirely hard and dry and just seems like it came from the bottom of the fryer. It wasn't even warm. It did take me a minute to pick up my food, but the rice in the same order was still warm at least. I really did used to love this restaurant, but at this point I'm done giving them chances and it will probably be a long time before going back if at all. I don't want to be contacted about this at all, I'm just disappointed.
Great food, always good, I order from here regularly and haven't had a bad experience yet.
Location is tricky due to the parking situation and I don't usually eat inside because of the parking.
Take-out is always hot and ready quickly!
Ordered for the first time yesterday-Pad Thai and 3 different roles. The staff were friendly, made recommendations, and my order was ready quickly. The food left a lot to be desired. The Pad Thai was just OK-it needed more sauce and more flavor. The sushi had a good flavor but the rolls were just so big (see pic) that they were hard to eat.
Had heard great things, and was not disappointed!
As an appetizer we had the "Crab Rangoons" My husband had the "Drunken Noodle" and I had the "Basil stir fried". So much flavor! We had leftovers and they were almost as good the second time!
If you have not been here yet please try it!
One of my family’s favorite places to eat in Boone. We tried multiple items and have loved them all. Drunken Noodle and Pork Dry Noodle being one of my favorites. If you like Thai/Vietnamese food this is a must. Sabeing has been takeout only since the pandemic. I would love to see them open back up to dine in.
We are very lucky to have this place in Boone it's fantastic Asian.
Consistently great food!
My favorite take-out spot in Boone! Everything I've tried is so tasty :)
Great food, always good, I order from here regularly and haven't had a bad experience yet.
Location is tricky due to the parking situation and I don't usually eat inside because of the parking.

Not very good. I got the chicken pad Thai, and it was weird and soupy, and lacked flavor. Also, the portion was kinda small. Usually Thai places stuff the plastic take out full, but the pad Thai that I got here only filled about 2/3 of the plastic container. I was disappointed.
The spicy tuna roll was good, but the Pho Ga was definitely not pho by any stretch of the imagination....inexplicably it had pineapple in it.

最高です。量も値段にも満足してます。
always very nice, fairly priced, and quality food. no indoor seating if that bothers you
I've been across the USA times by car, drove a van to Guatemala and this family that owns this place offer th most delicious Asian food I've had anywhere. Proud that yal are in my home town! Thanks for the amazing food every single time❤️
Take out only and just a few chairs in front. Food was okay to bad.
The entrees serviced at this take out only restaurant is not traditional in my view. Adding bean sprouts to all the entrees and not adding actual vegetables is very odd. My meal came with soggy wide noodles, salad shred carrots, no broccoli and I couldn't taste the soy based sauce. It was terrible to call this Thai food. I think it's highly modified American Asian food. Customers may not know what actual Thai food is in this town. Would not recommend this place.
They hooked me as a return customer the very first time I tried them and haven't disappointed me since! Best brown sauce in 3 counties. Parking is BAD. However, they have a new dine in location a few miles away. I'm excited to find and try it SOON!
We had thai green curry with tofu and fried rice. Everything was delicious with good portion size. Loved it. Would recommend to others and especially vegetarians.
I ordered take out so I'll skip rating service and atmosphere and stick with food... after all that's what I came for. I consider myself and my my wife seasoned conisours of thai food, and unfortunately this was a miss. I'll just leave it at that. If your looking for authentic like Ann's thai, Indochine, or kapow thai, you won't find it here. Just my 2 cents.
One of our favorite places to grab food in Boone!
Thai fried rice was good but Spicy tuna salad was very disappointing! It was ground up something.
Take out only. Have a few seats outside. Tasty.
The BEST Pho in Boone! It’s carry out only. That said, I would’ve rated it 5*, BUT when I ordered online, it FORCES you to tip.
That’s right. The website forces you to enter a tip for a carry out order. DELICIOUS food!
Only out door sitting next to a greased up exhaust fan. Food was good, order it, take it home and enjoy!!!
It's take out only. The menu pics online don't match what's offered, but the food is amazing! Love the kao soi and the sushi roll pieces were bigger than my mouth.
This place was awesome it's take out only but it's really really really good.
Did not realize that this place is takeout only. There is no seating at all.
Food was alright, but the chicken in the pad thai and Thai fried rice didn't taste very flavorful and the Thai fried rice felt like it was lacking the spices/sauce to give it the flavor you'd expect from Thai fried rice. The pad thai noodles tasted delicious however.
Terrific small spot on King St in Boone NC.
A real favorite with the students, it can be crowded waiting for your take-out only order.
When the students head home for the summer break, the locals fill right in to get their fill.
I try to stop by on every visit to Boone and get one of their noodle offerings. Check it out, you'll be happy you did.
Absolutely the worst sushi we have ever had! Soggy and mushy! Went straight in the trash.
They are still closed and only doing togo orders 2 years after covid. Open the dining room :)
The food is good but unfortunately gave me the worst food poisoning ever.
Perfect place for fast Thai take out. Tried many dishes and everything was great.
Great service and food from locals. Leo at the register never fails to provide excellent speedy service and make my day. Highly recommend the Pho Beef dish!
Overall it was a decent experience, my wife didn't enjoy her food as much but I did enjoy the Shrimp Pad Thai. Would recommend it for anyone looking for take out - that's also the only option for this establishment.
Take out only which we didn’t know going into it. Not bad because we were more than okay taking our food to go. The food was hot and okay. Crab rangoons were amazing. The pad Thai and tomkha soup just okay.
Me and my boyfriend are visiting Boone this week and we found this spot to get dinner to go last night. We both got an entree and he loves dumplings so we got an order of those as well. The “dumplings” unfortunately they were not specified to have shrimp in them and my boyfriend has a shellfish allergy. He ate a few before realizing they had shrimp and had an allergic reaction. Maybe call them “shrimp dumplings” or mark them as an allergy item on the online to go menu.
The people here just don't seem to understand plain English. In spite of asking for low spice levels for all the food, they just made it the most spiciest food ever.. Every single order.. Never ever coming back here.. We just threw the food n ordered somewhere else.
If you really want to try, make sure u taste the food before u take it out.
This is take out only restaurant.
No indoor seating. Remove the old indoor seating photos!
This is my partner and I’s go to take out for nights when we want to stay in and watch movies. No matter what we order, the food is always good, hot, and fresh. Also, one of the best places to get tofu in Boone! I cannot recommend them enough.
Sushi was surprisingly delicious better then cobo and cheaper. Large portions that can last 2 meals for their other platters.
Food was good and a pretty large serving size. Service was excellent for my carryout to go order. I would definitely come back next time I'm in town.
We didn't realize this was take out place only. The site says dine in as well. If the owner can edit that, it would be helpful. We ordered green curry , red curry and ginger stir fry. Red and green curry tasted the same and very watered down. The taste wasn't bad but had the same vegetables in both peppers, cabbage and tofu, bamboo. The ginger stir fry also had just onions and tofu. I eat Thai a lot so this wasn't my best experience. Generally there are a lot more vegetables in vegetarian options . The staff is very friendly and you have the option to add fried or steamed tofu. The food was ready in 10 minutes. The quantity was also large and prices very reasonable. I would say it is very good for college students but not the best Thai I have had.
Only take out was available, food was good, we ordered a red curry, basil fried rice and drunken noodles. Noodles were disapppointing but curry was great!
If you want to relax in your hotel and enjoy a great dinner you can pick up, look no further. Excellent Thai food.
Very authentic Thai food - the noodle dishes are really delicious! There are no dining options here, but still it’s very popular. Food is usually ready in 15 minutes and is well packaged so it's easy to take home.
I stopped here on my way to Kentucky, I had fresh rolls and vegan pho minus the tofu. I must say I was surprised at how delicious the food was it was a nice atmosphere as well. I will definitely stop again if in the area.
They’re my go-go for whenever i’m craving something yummy and fulfilling to eat! They also have amazing staff, that are generous and kind to the customers!
We are regular customers, always the best quality Thai food in the area. Everything is always on point.
Edit: place is still amazing and has been for years. Made this review along time ago
Delicious take out food! Good portions full of flavor. 1000/10 will be going back soon.
I actually really like the sushi rolls here, but it is a shame that this spot is an all takeout spot albeit the couple of chairs out front that get scorched by the sun for hours on end. Otherwise there isn't a whole lot to comment on, the Thai and Chinese offerings here are not as strong as the sushi imo. Pretty decent for what is available in the area however.
Takeout only, but such fantastic food!!!!
Excellent food and fast service! Try the kow man Kai with tofu or crispy chicken.
Take out only, which was fine. Very friendly service but food was very bland. We ordered the pad thai and drunken noodles (tried something simple) and both seemed like the flavoring was just chicken broth. Edible but very unappetizing.
No matter what I get from here it's absolutely bussin, the sweet potato roll is especially delicious! I practically eat here once a week
Went in after walking by and smelling something delicious over 4th of July weekend. Service was efficient and helpful. Food was delicious. We had spring rolls and drunken noodle with chicken. The drunken noodle was absolutely delicious!
Take out only, which we weren’t aware of until we got there. Placed our order in person and it was ready in 10 minutes. Service was fast and friendly, but the food was not. We had the fresh spring rolls, pad Thai chicken and Kow Moo Dang. Rolls were the best of the three, but I couldn’t even eat the pad Thai. No flavor.
LOVE this place so so much. Sammie is the best, she needs a raise!!
My wife and I got the pad Thai and pad see ew. Both were amazing. Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had
The food is incredible. I lived in Thailand for several years. Whenever I order from Sabeing I always discreetly mention that I know what “Thai spicy” is. It will set your head on fire, but when done well it is beyond tasty. Sabeing does it well.
Pad Thai and spring rolls were awesome
Not impressed. Small serving sizes. Mediocre cuisine. Greasy.
It's just so good. Don't think. Just go.
Take out only.
This place is expensive, but it's worth it. The food here is amazing. It might take a while to get seated, then take a while to get your food, but you will not be disappointed. This place is awesome and worth the wait and the price....one of the best places in the area.
Small place that definitely has something you like. There are plenty of items on the menu I am not a fan of, but the few that I enjoy have become regulars in my diet. Drunken Noodle and an Eel Roll is beyond fantastic. I just hope they will open indoors again sometime soon
I felt like the sushi was pretty awful and gave me food poisoning. Not worth the money
i got pad see eww. it was completely flavorless. a HUGE disappointment, as i was starved. i took it home, dumped hot sauce on it, and really enjoyed it. maybe you guys should've done that , as i'd asked for it to be spicy.
We ordered takeout (I believe that's the only option). It was fast and the food was amazing (drunken noodles with chicken, shrimp shumai, shrimp tempura and a sunshine roll). The only suggestion I have is that we ordered the drunken noodles spicy and they just put all the chili paste on top of the food in the middle and it was hard to redistribute leading my husband to take a too spicy bite and feel ill. I understand not preparing each to order with regards to spice, but it would be better to put the spice on the side if doing it that way so it can be evenly distributed easier. We still loved it.
This place is set up for to-go food, which is kinda neat for King Street since it can cost money to park anywhere over there.
Food is pretty good, I enjoy the cuisine, and this is a good example of it here in Boone.
For this same reason, I have neutral ratings for service and atmosphere since those things apply more to dine-in restaurants.
Best pad thai around!
Awesome pho 😍🥡🥢
This is our number one take-out place! We love everything we have tried on the menu. Unbelievably delicious food. Best sushi around. The King Street Roll is so good. Thai curries are all great. Our kids love the pad thai and the spring rolls. Highly recommend!
best sushi in boone !!! christian at the front is so nice too!
Take out only when we got ours, but it is very good food! The mild was fairly spicy! But that's kind of what I expect from Thai food. We all enjoyed our plates
Nice clean-up! I'm so proud of your employees!
I didn’t try their food, but after looking into their restaurant it seemed so unclean I didn’t want to order. I looked up their most recent inspection rating and was surprised that it was an A, but included demerits for rodent droppings, unclean food surfaces, improper holding temperatures, and unmaintained warewashing facilities, among others. Im not surprised there are rodents with the way things are piled up inside.
Friendly service but the food was ok.
Favorite take out in Boone hands down!! I have not had any Asian food here that beats this. I can’t believe I waited so long to try it! Absolutely love the Thai fried rice - I’ve had it with chicken, crispy chicken, and pork but the pork is my favorite. Sushi is really good too and I’ve never wondered if I was going to get food poisoning after eating lol 😂
I hate to post a bad review but it was not good Thai food.
Soup had very hard and dry chicken chunks, not tasty at all.
Red curry was watered down coconut milk that didn't taste like curry at all.
Chicken pieces were all large ,dry unchewable chunks .
Watch YouTube and learn how to make curry otherwise you can mix milk with sugar and pour it over rice and that's what you got now.I don't know what we will order tomorrow but it definitely can not be this place, very disappointed
A great place for some really authentic Thai food. The food has a nice kick of heat and is full of flavor. I really wish you could go in and eat, but take it will do just fine. Highly recommend
I've been eating here for years and it's one of my favorite places to go because of their consistency. I miss eating inside but I respect and understand why they switched to take out only. The sushi here is tasty and a good size for the amount you pay. I love the beef pho, though if you like a more clear broth you should get it earlier in the day. Fried rice is solid and so is the pad seew. I like the noodles to be crispier but it's hard to get that texture in take out. Over all, i don't think you can really go wrong with anything you order here!
Ordered yellow curry, pad Thai, and drunken noodles last night. I am writing this review because the “drunken noodles” we got were definitely not drunken noodles. Perhaps a pad see ew, because there was no spicy basil sauce and the noodles had no flavor. Also we ordered beef drunken noodles and pork yellow curry it came with pieces of stewed meat instead of slices of beef or pork. I have never seen this before and if I were them, would stop doing this practice. Stewed meat is a totally different texture and flavor that is desired in these dishes.
The food was probably the worst Asian food I’ve ever had. They use a lot of plastic that just gets wasted and is bad for the environment. The woman working the register was nice, that’s the only reason I’m giving them 2 stars. I will never eat there again. I wish I could get my money back.
Since my original review I have had nothing but issues with their new online ordering system and seems poorly maintained. Due to this I had to take away a star for convenience.
I would award Sabeing two trophies if I could. The BEST Asian cuisine in Boone, and the BEST shushi in Boone. I have found there is no need to drive all the way to High Point to get quality Asian food anymore.
The Pad Thai was delicious. The flavors mixed well together and the spices were great. The noodles were an excellent reddish-brown, and not that American oily-red. The herbs were fresh.
The sushi was fresh, and very flavorful. Hundreds of times better than any sushi from Cobo, Makatos, or anywhere else in Boone for that matter.
The seating area is small, and when it is full expect a wait for your food. But it is well worth it. I know I will be back.
best damn drunken noodles i ever ate
Consistently good food
Seriously the best place to get Sushi in Boone! I will always recommend Sabeing to my friends visiting from out of town🤗
To be doing dine in only at this point—two years into the pandemic, AND to be cavalier and unapologetic about it ,is absurd.
Best Pho in town.
I pick up fried rice, drunken noodles, and pad thai from here all the time and it's always delicious! Good portion sizes, quick and efficient takeout despite not having seating inside.
My boyfriend and I decided to compare the local pho restaurants of boone.
We tried the same dish here and at My Pho.
Beef Pho.
To say the least My pho is not nearly as delicious as Sabeing. Taste was much more authentic. The overall quality of the food was much better. For example we took much delight in drinking the broth from sabeing. The brisket was much thinner and fattier at my pho.
The sanitation score at sabeing was higher as well with my pho having a whopping 88%.
Nice customer service as well. Busy workers still made time for my wants during rush hour.
5/5 Sabeing
1/5 My pho
Authentic
Great place for all your east Asian cravings. They are currently takeout only at the time of this review. This is the only place I've come across in the US that serves Khao Soi and I have to have it every time I'm in Boone.
The tofu was missing from my mixed vegetables and the only veggies, were shredded carrots, a few mushroom slices, lots of onions and a few pineapple chunks.
amazing food, amazing service
Incredible Thai food for a great price! Ordered online and picked up in only 15min!
Came down to Boon for Christmas week. Googled and decided to try this restaurant. Being in downtown parking can be problem but there is a big public parking close by. We were looking for dine-in but it was takeout only. Anyway we decided to go ahead and order. What an amazing food, so tasty. Even the varieties of sauces tastes so good. We had vegetarian options. Samantha was so helpful in making sure it was tasty and vegetarian. Thanks to the cook and Samantha, we had a fantastic lunch.
Great food! Authentic and flavorful. Check your order before you leave. Have had missing sides and entrees several times. Having said that, it’s an excellent dining addition to the High County.
Food was good and generous portion size. I asked for my soup not to have anything spicy on it but sadly my soup was still a little spicy.
Not bad not great. Lacked flavor and authenticity.
Excellent pho pork. No seating inside.
No dine-in just a few outdoor seating in the patio but I don’t recommend seating there because it’s right under a kitchen ventilation and you’ll get a lot of the heat with food smell there and no shade during lunch time. You’ll be burnt.
Ordered pho beef and drunken noodle which were kind of average. The flat noodle in the drunken noodle was over cooked and were all choppy. Pho was okay - the broth contains a lot of oil in my opinion compare to other places.
The pho was really good and well prepared for the price they charge for it. I’m astonished on how good it was for the price and I’ll be back for another bowl.
No dine-in, although it’s said to be.
I love the rita roll and my husband loves the pad seew. Our order is always ready quickly and they give great portions. Definitely a must try!
It says dine in, we drove 30 mins to find out they do not offer dine in.
Food was great! Definitely going back. 😋
Food is good. Only to go
Service was incredible and some of the best sushi I have ever had
Not even close to what I ordered. Not the first time. Won't be back.
Best Thai in Boone since Cha Da Thai closed. Spice level of the food seems to vary by who's in the kitchen that day; I've eaten here quite often, and have had Mild spice dishes taste like Spicy and vice versa. That said, the food quality is excellent! Absolutely love Sabeing and will always come back.
The sweet potato roll is so good. Kind and quick service too!
Went here with parents and not good. My mom only have a few bites of her drunken noodles. I got sushi and seaweed salald. The seaweed salad was good, but i only had one bite of spicy tuna. It was just super low grade and gross. Maybe off day ? We could not understand how they had such good reviews.
I used to order to go here regularly. However, they recently changed their containers, resulting in a reduction of serving size by about a third to a half. I used to get 4 meals out of my order and now it is two. Some price increase is to be expected, but this is massive increase. I won’t be ordering here anymore.
Spicy crab roll was delicious 😋
Crispy rolls were nice too.
I ordered a Kow Man Kai and Red Dragon Roll from here while in town on business. The order was ready on time, fresh, and exactly what I wanted.
Great flavor and quick pickup service.
Food is authentic and A-MAZ-ING!
Nice selection of dishes to choose from. Always tasty however I wish they still had dine in otherwise I’d give it a 5 star.
I ordered red dragon rolls, spicy tuna salad and steamed dumplings to go last night and it was delicious! Nice and fresh, well packaged for to go. I’m definitely coming back!!
We ordered some Thai Food which was bland and did not taste authentic.
The sobering roll is stellar!
So freaking good
AMAZING FOOD AND PHO NICE PEOPLE TOO
Yummy food, good portions, don't think twice
Love it! Drunken noodles, sushi, just all the things are delicious.
Fair price, friendly staff, very tasty. Only issue, if you want any extra sauce or anything reiterate in the notes in bold multiple times or they may not notice.
Yes.
Ordered the green curry with tofu and paid $2 for extra shrimp. I ordered take out and re-plated the dish as soon as I got home which allowed me the chance to take stock of the fact I had just 3 small pieces of shrimp added to my order. The meal was lovely, I ordered it mild and liked that it was still slightly spicy, the fresh basil in the curry was fabulous and the tofu and vegetables were nice and crunchy. But I can't give a full five stars on account of the fact that I feel like if you're going to give the option for adding extra proteins, it should be a reasonable amount added to the order. Otherwise, ask customers if they want to pay $0.66 per shrimp.... I found it a little frustrating and others might agree. Just something to be aware of if you're thinking of ordering those extra items! (:
We just moved to the area and we are so happy to find our favorite Thai and Japanese restaurant! Best sushi I’ve had in years and amazing curry! Very high quality food.
Ordered takeout from the website and it was ready by the door within 15 minutes. All of it was great!
Best sushi in Boone..hands down
I wanted to give it five stars and I would for the Tomkah soup and the salad rolls. But I was disappointed in the mixed vegetables… No carrots or broccoli! A lot of green and red peppers. I haven't had Thai vegetables where there are no carrots and broccoli, so that would be my suggestion.
Dry noodle bowl rocks the suburbs!
The king street roll is my favorite sushi of all time!
Having a shrimp allergy is no fun, and it definitely makes eating out more challenging overall. Saebing has always made me feel safe and welcome every time I have eaten there. Their attention to detail and care is much appreciated and meaningful to me. Do yourself a favor and eat something delicious here as often as you can.
Very good ! I got drunken noodles and I’ll definitely be trying the other stuff on the menu
Sam Whiteside has been fired as of today.
Thank you so much Sabeing for taking action to help protect our community and residents!!!!!!
Many people local to the area have let the owners know of a dangerous situation among their staff. Over 10 plus calls and emails and they respond, "if it didn't happen on the clock, not our problem". I feel customers should be able to trust restaurants will take concerns from other customers seriously, especially when there are this many that are just being blatantly ignored.
