Pan-Asian entrees, sushi & sashimi in easygoing surrounds with Asian & nautical decor.
Terribly rude employees, both of the waitresses in on December 30th, 2024... We waited 40 minutes to be seated, even though they had a table available for us from the moment we walked in, as the table we were FINALLY seated at was empty right in front of us the whole time. The waitress, when we asked for refills and a few in our party were unsure on if they needed such or not, waved us to HURRY and decide! That is so inappropriate. So disappointed, I used to come here every few days for takeout, but I will never be returning after this experience. The food is phenomenal. Too bad.
We stopped in here for a late lunch. They were consistently busy with diners and take out orders at 2 pm on a Wednesday. This place was recommended on an Asheville Foodies site. It did not disappoint. We started with shrimp egg rolls. They were piping hot, crispy, and not at all greasy. The Tasty Dish with chicken was packed with veggies and had a sweet and spicy sauce. Two Emperor meal had steak and scallops, plus asparagus, pea pods, and water chestnuts. Veggies were hot, tender crisp, and perfect. The fried rice could've been more seasoned. I prefer egg in mine. Overall, I would definitely eat here if you're near Hendersonville, NC, and are in the mood for any type of Asian cuisine.
No matter when I eat here dine in or carry out they don't disappoint. Today was a carry out day, orange chicken with broccoli and fried rice x 3 and spring rolls. Delicious and hot. Sorry no pictures devoured before I thought about pictures. Good thing because I was licking my fingers! Lol! 🤪
The food was good but the service was awful. I'm not one to complain and I understand places get busy and can be overwhelming for servers, but this was even too much for me to ignore. First, we arrived around 7pm with 4 people and a baby, three parties behind us were seated before us even though there was a table available that would accommodate us fine, which we were seated at 30 minutes later after we had been waiting that whole time; again this table was available the ENTIRE time. Second, once we were finally seated one of the people in our party had to go back to the front to get menus because our server "forgot" and didn't check on us for 15 more minutes. We weren't given silverware and nobody came to take our order until just after 8pm, an HOUR after we had arrived. It took another 45 minutes for our food to arrive, and our server was very impatient and cold, which made us all very uncomfortable. The food was fine, but I wouldn't go back if that's the service I would be experiencing.
Best hibachi I've had in Asheville! High quality ingredients and good portion. The fried rice that came with it was excellent. I also got a small miso soup and it was excellent and also a good portion. It came with crunchy noodles as well. First time here but I'd imagine the rest they have to offer is excellent.
We walked in and we were told to sit anywhere. After waiting about 15 minutes no one came over to even acknowledge that we were there. Several servers walked by and looked at us but no one acknowledged that we were even there. We ended up just leaving.

For my wife’s birthday she wanted Chinese food take out. I ordered and drove a long distance to get it for her. The order was checked, we paid and started home. When we got home we found the most important order incomplete. The sweet and sour chicken was nothing more than a plastic box full of fried dry chicken. No sauce, no veggies, nothing but a big disappointment.
Just ordered beef with pepper and onions. Was ready for pickup. Tasted great. Will order again for sure.

This place has gone down hill. My food was watery and flavorless. The white sauce (yum yum) is basically only mayonnaise. The cashiers are hasty and seem as if you are a inconvenience to their day.
Always spot on.
We have tried this place periodically over the years but tonight was possibly the last time. They have gotten orders wrong and had issues with food quality for awhile. I always order a vegetarian dish for my wife and last time here we tried the "crispi fried shiitake mushrooms". On this trip I just ordered a "vegetarian" Mei Fun and the fried Shiitakes. The Mei fun had both Chicken and shrimp in it and the mushrooms had a completely different texture than any previous order. Really soggy. So the meal really didn't go over so well this time around.
This place was fantastic! The sushi was the best I've had in years. So fresh. And our server was amazing. So good. Highly recommend.

I love this restaurant. I especially love the shiitake mushroom appetizer, the calamari, and the pineapple fried rice. I also enjoy their sushi, too. Friendly atmosphere.
This place is great for dates. The atmosphere is pretty solid, each booth feels like it's own private area with lanterns overhead. The 2 times we've been the servers made us feel like family, but like not in a boomer way, in like your cool Chinese auntie kinda way. The sushi was fresh and created with care. It's definitely in my top 5 sushi places for Asheville. Some of their hot food looked good as well, ie general tso's chicken, sesame chicken, and sweet and sour chicken to name a few items. It may be in a strip mall, but make sure you give it a chance lest you miss out on this adventurous place.
This restaurant is almost in walking distance from where I live. So, I was really looking forward to trying it out. The restaurant looks nice once you go inside. But the Kung Pow Chicken I had was just so-so. I would have been willing to give the place a second chance, but the service was just downright rude. Maybe it was just the waitress waiting on me, but I'll never find out.
Everytime I get orange chicken or sesame chicken it's all batter. More than half has no chicken at all. The pieces that I do get with chicken are like scrap pieces.....Call Kings Kitchen instead they give big chunks of white meat chicken. Don't let your wife order accidentally from this place. Never again.
Wonderful experience, amazing staff, and the best food! 😋 will definitely be coming back!
Nice vibe inside and very reasonably priced sushi.
New to town, and must say what polite and genuine service. So friendly. The egg drop soup really hit the spot, and I usually don't care for it but theirs was great. Clean and the atmosphere was pleasant. Will definitely be back and is on our regular list.
Nice place, I had the hot and sour soup and Fire Dragon roll, both were very good. Nice atmosphere and great staff. I would return.
It's always fantastic.
Got the Hibachi chicken the chicken was over cooked and the veggies where under cooked first time we've ever had a issue will update next time
Edit:
tried again. They did not record to-go order correctly, and did not confirm order and price before paying at pick up. Pretty rude, and bad customer service. Not worth the money for the food anyway. Does not seem like the cleanest, I think the 94 sanitation score has improved slightly. Will not be back
Previous review:
Got takeout for lunch, it was Extremely Average.
$6 for lunch special is fine. Food was pretty dry and simple. That's all
Try the sweet and sour soup! Great place to eat
Always the best in the business. Very experienced sashimi chef. Dine in with a nice atmosphere & prompt carry out. I've been coming here for years. It's the best in then
I love this restaurant. I used to live down the street. They have very good prices for the quality and quantity of food they give you. Also, Id like to recommend the creamy green Fuji Jade cocktail they make. It's hard to find anything like that anywhere. I want to know the ingredients cause I moved to a different state and miss that drink lol. Anyways the servers here are very sweet and they let you sit wherever you'd like when you come in. It's very peaceful and here's a side quest for you but when you sit at a table with the 🏮 lanterns look up and appreciate all the cute fortunes from the cookies that people put in them. I always felt so cozy there and loved going alone or with friends to enjoy a yummy meal...🥰
Great food and amazing service. Looking forward to coming back
Blandest asian lunch special I've ever had. The atmosphere is nice though.
Everyone here is so friendly. The food is incredible. The best lunch specials in town!
I went out with a friend, the soup was very good but our main entrees didn't have any flavor and were bland. I would say it was an okay meal but nothing great.
Friendly service with fresh tasting food! Will be coming back.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately there really wasn't any good aspect of our dinner here. The service was very slow (maybe just short staffed, not sure), but everyone was friendly. The miso soup was just ok. The egg rolls, sushi rolls (fire dragon and Alaska) and hibachi chicken were not good. All of them were bland, the egg rolls were not crispy and the chicken was rubbery. Maybe it was an off night, but being that every step of the meal wasn't great, I felt it deserved a review
The sushi rolls are great for the price. The rolls are big and they give generous amounts of sauce. The miso soup is the best I’ve had and they give so much for only $2.50. I will recommend their restaurant for sushi rolls every time.
Spent 15 minutes without being provided with a menu. Food is great. Service isn't there
I eat inside many times. Always very good. Today in a hurry ordered take out. Sweet and Sour chicken. Gross, chicken taste like it was fried yesterday. No vegetables, just nasty fried chicken and a tub of Sweet and Sour sauce which was cold. The really sad part was the rice was old also. Don’t do their take out.
It's was delicious.
Went with a group of girlfriends for dinner. I had the Crispy Honey Chicken, which was delicious!! The optics and the aroma of the food were very good. Our server was fantastic, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Great ambiance and clean. It's more than just sushi, but it was also excellent!!! Will definitely be back!
Incredible place to eat
Not bad.
Cozy sushi place and smelled so good! The sushi was bland with no real flavor. The service was great.
Would definitely try it again.
Got 2 chicken teriyaki came with rice,$3 upcharge for pork fried rice which was only a few pieces of pork literally maybe 7 or 8, and salad. The salad was all lettuce with a drizzle of ranch. One salad came with 2 cucumbers(was told by server was a mistake supposed to come with 1) and 1 carrot. The other salad just 1 cucumber. Definitely not a garden salad. Portion of rice and teriyaki chicken was not the same, one plate significantly bigger than the other, however charged the same. Sweet tea not sweet at all. Server was slow to taking order. Best thing probably was the pepper mint on the way out.
Amazing food and absolute angels here !! I didn’t realize how close to closing we had ordered (I felt so bad but I floored it there) and they stayed open so we could grab our order :’) you guys are amazing 10/10 I will be dining here again!! The food was fresh and hot and so so good just what I needed after a long day !!
best asian in town

Best sushi in town,! Had lunch and also took some home for dinner.
Good food. Mostly use takeout but it's always good eating in or taking out. Decent sushi and usually quick pick up time.
This was our time eating here and our server Caroline was very nice and on top of it, the food was very good. The dark silent atmosphere is very off putting. There were 2 other servers there who seemed very nice but the older asian woman(I think I heard someone call her amy) kept giving me rude looks and bumping into my chair and everytime she walked by she was mumbling vulgar slurs assumingely towards her customers under her breath and just seemed to have an all around negative attitude
This restaurant is adorable. The man making the sushis is so kind and the food is delicious ! We had the Fisherman and Crazy Friday Sushi Rolls and the 2 different white fish rolls.
I like this place for the quiet dining room. They're all booths or booth boxes (even more private). The food is Japanese/Asian and familiar. I am a big fan of Sashimi and they have never disappointed. The fish is fresh. The menu has something for everyone and is easy to read. Always a safe choice and fairly priced. Service has always been excellent for me.
Nice unique decor. Nice atmosphere. Great service. Unfortunately the food wasn't as good as I had hoped.
Great meal for a very fair price
Good food with a nice variety of choices.
Just returned from an great lunch and exceptional service.
Aubrey was our server and was so conscientious about making sure my vegan friend needs were met. Aubrey went the extra mile to give us great service. I had a excellent noodle bowl perfect for a cold day. I also like the atmosphere of this restaurant, with cozy booths. and good smells coming from the kitchen. Prices are reasonable too. I have only had excellent food here.
Cozy place. It's definitely been a local favorite. Huge selection for such a small place.
Good sushi and Mandarin Fried Rice👌
Good take out food!
Pure luck stopped for lunch, fantastic food, great service, very fair prices. Didn't get to try the sushi. Guess we have to go back.
Server was super nice and polite! Hibachi meal was fantastic and my sesame chicken was to die for! 10/10 !!
My favorite Sushi restaurant in all of Buncombe county. Owners absolutely care about quality and fresh ingredients. Will return often!!!
Amazing place Caroline made sure my daughter was comfortable. The chef was amazing at doing what my daughter liked w her shrimp. Have always ordered but never dined in until now. 10/10 would recommend
The to Go menu is 100% better than what they offer when you dine in....they are understaffed and my food was awful. I asked about it, and they said the dine in menu is different than the same item ordered if you sit down? Bizarre...so from now on, I'll order take away and go sit down with it. Be sure you ask lots of questions before eating inside the restaurant. I won't go back.
I've never actually eaten in the restaurant, always get take out. The place is convenient to me, good food and reasonably priced, compared to other chinese restaurants in the area. The hot & sour soup, crab Rangoon and boneless ribs are my favorites. And I've never had bad service. The only thing that would make it better for me, because I don't drive, is if it offered delivery, PLEASE!
5 stars so they can’t delete. Service was rude and the fish they served was old. Luckily I know what to look for but I know lots of customers had to have gotten food poisoning here. Look up their sanitation score on Google.
Food was good. Had the sesame chicken and was very pleased with it. My date enjoyed their miso soup and their udon noodles. Service was good too as waitress was quick and checked up when needed. Would visit again!!!
Great food and great value!
Great prices, great food, and always quick for takeout even during busy hours
Update: ordered a Fantastic Roll, had to 're-order' it 4 times. Finally, I gave up, cancelling the order. Chef comes out, harasses me at the table, showing a finished roll, the one I had to order over and over. I told him 4 times is enough, and I'm just done with it. He banned me from the restaurant. That and hygiene product commercials on The Bachelor ads, not really appetizing.
Previous 5 star Review:
We really enjoyed this place! They have a great menu, good service, fair pricing, and a classic restaurant environment with cushions, carpet.. you can actually hear the conversation with your friends! What a concept!
So many places are loud echo chambers, this place does it perfectly.
Thank you!!
Always super nice, food is always good, best tea in Asheville!!!!
Take-Out was thru
Asian On The Go ::
The food was FAB-U-LOUS!! For the past 15+yrs, they've been THE BEST ASIAN food as far as I & my family is concerned! Great lunch prices & good-sized portions. (The picture is of my Spicy Garlic Chicken & is only 1/2 portion, along w/Spring & Egg Rolls.)
Within the area one of the best places to appease that American style Chinese food craving you might have. Also an amazing sushi bar!
I love Pacific Pagoda, multiple Asian cuisine's, the prices, and most of all the taste. Great Japanese, Thai and Chinese dishes and the pricing for the quantity and quality of food is great. Lots of options under $10. Check out their menu and most of all order something you won't be disappointed I wasn't.
Came in just after lunch. Plenty of seating and didn't seem too busy. Quiet atmosphere, but vibe was a little bit odd. Smelled a little off too. Took 10 mins to get a menu, 15 mins to get a drink. Wait staff kept passing by the table and seemed to be avoiding me. Left without ordering. Food looked good, but unfortunately I didn't get any.
Chef is very kind, staff is friendly as well. Seaweed salad is delicious as well as the Hendersonville road roll! Sashimi is very fresh and tasty! Me and my fiance eat here regularly
Sometimes you want some good solid chinese food; the kind you can only get at a mom and pop family store. Pacific Pagoda did not let me down. The won ton soup had huge won tons that were flavorable and the broth was great. The fried pot stickers were pretty good too and the price was very reasonable. Another reason I enjoyed the food. The vegetables in the beef and brocoloi dinner special were really crisp and there was a good amount of beef in it. So if you want some good solid down to earth chinese food this would be a place you want to check out.
I had the Indian yellow curry with shrimp. The shrimp was plunp and plentiful. The curry had just enough heat to make you sweat but not burn the palate and the vegetables were cooked but still had firmness. I'll definitely be coming back.
The food was all decent, with the exception of the hibachi chicken, which had 0 flavor or seasoning. Our server was the worst server we have had in Asheville. It was also oddly quiet and no music was playing, felt uncomfortable
I would give this place 10 stars if I could order from here often the food reminds me of when I ate Chinese food as a child back in California. Love love this place!
The portions are not quite as big as I'd like for the price, but the food is really good!
This is my local haunt for Chinese food. Take out or dine in, you can't go wrong. I've been exploring the menu for the last two years. All good but my favorite is the Orange Chicken! Stop by and support the local guy...who is, like most Asheville folks...not from around here. LOL!
Highly recommend their Japanese fried rice!! It is consistently delicious, just so good! Very fresh and cooked perfectly every time
Great food awesome guy's it's worth the road trip 😀 👌
Good crab salad. Always handle Togo orders very well.
Super disappointing & overpriced, not the worst, absolutely not the best.
I got my roll dining in & it had obviously been sitting out for a while, & a lot of things had barely any taste or an odd sweet flavor.
I moved to Asheville a year ago, I had hoped I had found a go to, take-out. However, my Kung Pao was mostly celery and carrots.
Food was spoiled and gross. The restaurant smells like toilet water, and out of 7 meals only one was edible. They nickeled and dimed the return and we ended up paying $45 for one dish. And the pork egg rolls are made with red bacon bits not meat.
Simply the best.
Amazing food every time!!! I’ve tried just about everything on the menu and all is delicious. Great service and very nice atmosphere. So glad this place is local for me in Arden
Clean restaurant. Bathrooms were very clean. Bill for 4 adults and quantity/flavor was 5/5. $55 for 4 entrees. I got the chicken Mongolian and it was good! Sushi was solid but not the best I’ve ever had.
My partner and I are never disappointed when we come here! Great food for good prices!
Wonderful food for good price
Awesome experience! Will be back. Service at first was a little slow, but I am a patient patron. Food was on point which is the most important element.
I've been craving good Chinese food, and Asheville doesn't have many Chinese restaurants, which seems odd. I happened by this place by accident today. What a lucky find! I had a bowl of hot and sour soup which tasted just right. Then I ordered the Red Curry with Beef and fried rice. The curry and coconut milk struck a perfect balance. The dish had big, meaty mushrooms and the vegetables were still crisp, not limp and overcooked. I washed it all down with a pot of oolong tea. The ambience is tastefully themed Chinese, and there are a number intimate booths if you are dining with a friend. The sushi chef was friendly and welcoming, and the prices quite reasonable. Since I only ate there this one time I'm giving it four stars, but I will be back soon with an update. I rated the food, service and atmosphere all 5. This was a pleasant surprise! Looking forward to going back and trying more items from the menu.
Great place, just VERY understaffed. There's only one waitress during lunch time everyday.
We really enjoyed this place!
Thru missed a couple beats. But nice place
Used to be my favorite restaurant, but the past 3 times were horrible. Awful service, Will never go back! Save your time and go else where
My fiancé and I come here all of the time! Always amazing food and service. Fresh, large sushi rolls with creative specialties. Great hibachi. Cheap wine and big pours. It feels homey and comforting to be here - warm environment and great staff.
Great place to dine in or take home, quality sushi for reasonable price. Love it.
My husband loves the sushi (but I don’t eat sushi) So I always order some type of chicken meals when he gets sushi. First I tried to order the crispy honey chicken which they said they were out of (if it’s made fresh how are they out but can serve other fried chickens?) so I went with the general tso’s chicken the flavor was good however I wish the chicken quality was better they give a huge portion of chicken but the chicken was thigh meat very dry and stringy so I literally only ate like 3 pieces unfortunately. It would be soooo much better if it was made with white meat chicken!! For such a huge portion of chicken I was shocked at how tiny the side of rice was that came with it I even ordered another side of rice to go and it came in the smallest container I’ve ever seen at an Asian restaurant. Rice is cheap so I don’t understand why so stingy with it.
Very good takeout. Always nice no matter how busy they are.
Always great food and service.
Just a relaxed atmosphere, delicious food, Excellent service
I had lunch at Pacific Pagoda on 12/9/22. This was my first visit.
I arrived at 11:30, was warmly welcomed and promptly seated. The menu has a vast assortment of food from all around the Pacific ring. I had a hard time choosing, but
ordered a Spring Roll, and Samarai Sesame Chicken. It came with a small green salad, dressed with a very tasty Ginger dressing. The chicken was very nice, sliced and not breaded, breast meat, with my favorite veggies. The sauce was not overly sweet or heavy. My server, Jennifer, was friendly and attentive. The food was beautifully presented, and cooked just right. Best of all, it tasted good! The food, service, and atmosphere were all perfect! The portions are generous, and very fairly priced. This was truly a great lunch experience! I will be back! OH, they have a separate take out door for those on the go!
Great price and value. Good menu options. Would recommend. Good Japanese and sushi.
Beautiful place, BUT, I went on Sunday at 6:30pm there was only 1 server spent 40min on the table and never get the menus at least! 0 starts for customer service not even water, none went to the table.
Great place, one where you get more then you pay for, nice people, go there, keep them open
Worst experience ever, cashier never looked at my face and say hello or how are you, also talked very rude to me was around 45 Asian lady. I can't believe business can hire people like that to serve you.🤨🤬
1st time...very nice, all the way around. A little restaurant tucked away in a strip mall. Go for it!
Love this place. Chill vibe. Perfect mix of authenticity and western influence. Wassabe is fire. Reasonly priced!
Good food and great service. Tons to choose from.
First time getting sushi (takeout) and it was really good for the cost. Ample serving sizes, and very tasty pot stickers! Also, the employee helping me gave some super hot mustard for the egg rolls--it was great!
Great food good prices
With the prices of everything having gone up considerably, translated to "not eating out" Wife and I spotted this and gave it a go.
Miso was a 7.
Spring roll was a 9
I had snapper and was excellent.
Wife loves her noodles.
I wish them the best!
Great
Everything was delicious. Beautiful presentation. Staff were very friendly and made my daughter's birthday a special occasion.
Good food. Servers are good, too.
Good food, friendly wait staff, fast service
Have been coming here for years. Unfortunately the quality has dramatically changed with the last two pick up orders I've placed. General Tsos chicken is all breading. Crab ragoons are all batter, no filling. Two orders in a row is not a fluke. Maybe there's supply issues but unfortunately it's been enough to search for another take out spot close to home.
Have been here a few times usually the food is pretty good. Today I stopped by ordered a California roll and some other things to go . When I opened the California roll to go box (as soon as I got in the car ) it was warm, brown and had obviously been sitting out for a while. If your going to eat here, eat in.
My veggies with garlic sauce was very good. Just the right amount of heat. Friendly staff, clean
Flavorless. I have never seen so much corn used in Chinese food. I threw it out.
They dont have a buffet but your order is cooked when ordered and steaming hot. A good sized portion as well
Very good food and fabulous service.
Great varied menu with something to please every taste. Food was absolutely delicious and service super friendly. My new favorite place to dine.
Excellent quality sushi and salad mix. Good service. Nice atmosphere.
Good food. Good variety. Everybody is very friendly.
Overall good quality, service was decent, place was pretty clean and well kept. Will be visiting again.
Best we’ve had in awhile! Food was amazing, service was great, and can’t beat the price for the amount of food you receive! Inside was very quaint and authentic, can’t wait to go back!
One of our favorite places for Asian food! The sushi is delicious and really, everything else is, too. We have dined in and got food to go and both experiences were great. Everyone who works here is so friendly and kind. I highly recommend!
