The noodles came with rice on the side which was weird ! 😂

Servers are professional and very friendly. Unlike some of other Asian restaurants where you can only drink ONE cup of water, they keep coming to your table and filling you water!!!
The most important part of this restaurant is the taste. It tastes very authentic, not salty and perfectly balanced flavor. Moreover, you can CHOOSE the spicy level depending on your spicy tolerance!

I ordered the fresh vegetable roll appetizer, and the Wild Curry Vegetable for my entree. I also decided to try a Thai beer for the first time. The portion sizes here are absolutely huge! The food is so full of flavor, and so good! The atmosphere was pretty quiet, and the floor plan is very wide open and spread apart. The service was extremely fast, and mostly friendly. The only downside was I felt like I was being rushed out of the restaurant. I was asked if I wanted a to go box after I had barely started on my meal.

Loved the authentic Thai food here. Came here for a late dinner on a cold rainy night and were greeted by a friendly wait staff and wonderful food. We had the papaya salad, pad see ew, fried calamari and spring rolls - all fantastic. We thought it was too much food for the 3 of us but ended up finishing everything. Other than it being located in a tiny strip mall next to a smoke shop, everything is great.

My favorite Thai place!

This is my families favorite restaurant. We love everything on their menu. Our go to items are the chicken satay, papaya salad, pork phat prigkhin, phat kee moun, phat see eeu, house special thai fried rice and obviously some Thai iced tea and mango sticky rice when it's available.
We tried the crispy squid tentacles for an app today and they were delicious as well. We will continue to recommend and visit often .

Food is delicious. Went during lunchtime and ordered off the Lunch Menu. Had enough left over for another meal. Fresh Spring Rolls were a little rubbery but outstanding flavor.

This used to be so good, the best in Rochester, but it has really gone down hill in the last 3 years. The dishes don’t taste the same as they used to - lacking flavor, over cooked, and rubbery meat and shrimp.

I’m not sure what happened but the service is horrible now. They’re very rude even though I was out of the way polite. Wow. Won’t return

Sadly was not a great experience. I've wanted to go there for years and my partner even longer. Was very disappointed from the treatment by the staff (making rude statements about my dress) to the overall food quality was very lack luster I've had been placed with better food unfortunately. I typically give restaurants a second chance incase it was an off day but not for this place it was such a negative experience I would not go back if I had to choose.

A friend recently got cheap round trip ticket to visit us and Rochester and said “Don’t take this the wrong way but this Seasame Tofu is worth the $89!” 😍🥰

If you haven’t had it it’s very different than what you can find anywhere else- creamy and coconutty!

First, service is great and the food comes out FAST. Great value for lunch - you get a bunch of different tastes for a reasonable price.

The place is not clean. Dirty carpets, wet rags on floor near the back door and filthy menus on table. Some of the food was okay and some of it was really bad.

Best green curry I’ve ever had.

Food wasn't very good. The green curry was quite watery and lacked seasoning. We've had some type of beef stir-fi dish that just didn't. Didn't seem like the texture was right as if the starch to make the sauces stick to the ingredients wasn't fully set. Based on the reviews, I expect a little more.

Well, years of going there, and now they are closed due to a flood of violations from Monroe County regulators. Sad, the prices kept going up, and the quality down.

Got locked in the disabled bathroom stall, food was mediocre, and service was fair.

Today the place was mostly empty, but more take out orders.
We enjoyed a few appetizers and two had veggies dinners and two of us had chicken and veggies spicy, and a beef and broccoli spicy dinner.

Admittedly it was a busy night, but rarely have I been so ignored at a restaurant. Very slow surly service. As for the food, some of it was ok. Much of it overused cornstarch. Some of it was vaguely familiar from the numerous other Thai restaurants I have been to, both in the northeast and west coast. I ordered a dish I just had last week at my local excellent place, and this bore no resemblance. Other dishes were misdescribed, so don’t assume that whatever ingredients are on the menu are a full description of what will be on your plate. Or better yet, assume the worst and go to a different place. Rochester does have some good places to eat, right?

The King and I may be the best Thai place in the Rochester area. The food is always delicious and fresh and always served hot. Very reasonable pricing and generous portions.

Their sesame tofu dish is probably one of the best dishes I've ever had. It is tofu bites smothered in this coconut curry sauce that is to die for and served with rice. I cannot find a single other place that makes the sauce as good as they do here.

Only downfall is their service is a bit rude or short with people. But I deal with it for the food.

The food is still ok even after Joe sold the business a few years back. Except for the hospitality I spend $50 to almost $100 for takeout and I don’t get hello or thank you or even eye contact with small talk. I am convinced the new owner doesn’t like Americans and who knows what they are putting in my food because i don't feel confident eating there anymore. I've tried almost every appetizer here (Thai salad, beef salad, papaya salad, etc etc) . The apps, thai lemonade, and Japanese plum wine here are very good. Prices are fair. I recommend the sesame beef for an entre.

There were these 2 old ladies serving other customers with a smile but they had a frown on their face when they came near us. They would hardly check on us and were pretty rude.

There’s almost no better restaurant in Rochester in terms of quality of food, taste, options, RAPID service, quiet atmosphere. There’s many options for vegetarian, chicken, beef, pork, and seafood. Order it 4 or 5 spicy fur just a little more kick. Our favorites are the chicken pad Thai, the chicken with peanut sauce, the pineapple fried rice, the chicken or pork satay, the veggie spring roll crispy, and the marinated cucumber. Your food arrives FAST.

Just had lunch here and it was terrible. I ordered the pad Thai and it was extremely bland and seemed like something they heated up in the microwave from a tv dinner or something. I would definitely not eat there again and don’t know how this place is still in business.

I ordered Pad Thai and "curry" chicken dish. The chicken "curry" meal was served on top of white rice, the rice should be on the side unless it's fried rice.
Flavor wise for both dishes were mediocre at best. I took one bite asked them to box it up since I lost my appetite to eat it there.
The waiter told me that I wasnt their demographic customer which is fine. I don't expect all Thai food in US/Canada to be all authentic but the taste wasn't there at all.

Let me start off by saying the food here is great! I’m a regular, and have never had anything wrong with the food. Tonight I was extremely disappointed in the service we received. They brought out one big bowl of rice for 7 people which was fine… in the past we’ve always been able to get the rice bowl filled and the staff is always so friendly and comes out and asks if we want more. We ran out of rice quickly with 7 of us, and sat 10-15 minutes waiting for someone to come so we could get more. Once our waiter came, we asked for more rice since we all sat there 15 minutes waiting for some. He told us it would be a $2 charge per person for more white rice. $14 more for white rice. We’ve never ever had to pay for additional rice, and server was adamant and shoved a menu in my face to show me rice was $1.99 per person. The rice is in the back as an add on.. on top of the menu it shows all meals are included with rice. If you are going to start charging for simple plain white rice that is already clumped together and not soft, we will start supporting another Thai restaurant. Absolutely disappointed! If you are going to start charging for rice, then bring every individual out their own bowl of rice instead of throwing in one container for everyone to take out of. I’ve also NEVER had to make a reservation any of the times I have came here, and the staff was very rude up front. I said there were 7 of us, and they asked twice if we made a reservation. When I called to ask if they were open, they should’ve said on the phone a reservation was needed. I hope the rice situation gets fix, or make it clear to customers from the start you are now charging for rice that is suppose to either your meals.

Ordered the Tom Kar Koong soup and the Phat Thai. Serving of Phat Thai was huge and excellent flavor. The soup was flavorful but it only had two shrimp, and dozens of mushrooms.
It's supposed to be a shrimp soup so that was a disappointment. My wife had soup of the day and a basil almost licorice tasting beef dish that she loved. Service was good and they had a good crowd for Wednesday.

I've been here a few times, and it's the best Thai in Rochester in my eyes. I have always had really good service, and the food is very good. Today, I had the sesame chicken, which is different from traditional Chinese sesame chicken. And they brought out a bowl of Spicy Chicken soup. The soup was definitely Spicy, and the sesame chicken was a more comfortable heat. Both were really flavorful.

Tried veg soup, Thai basil fried rice, green curry. Everything was very average overall. I think soup was the best among these. Green curry as you can doesn't even have curry, so that was disappointing.

I usually pick up takeout and have only dined in a couple times, but this is one of my favorite restaurants. My food is always ready on time and it's delicious.

I’ve always loved the food here, so going back I had high expectations. The tofu fell short on texture and being over fried. I also wished for more Thai influence in the experience, kinda felt mainstream.

We loved the food there. But the last time we were there for dinner, the service was terrible. We waited over over 45 mins for our food. And when we were done eating, the waitress never brought the bill to us so we had to went to the counter to check out. She didn’t refill our water, forgot our dessert orders. The whole dinner last almost 2 hours which was mostly waiting time. People arrived after us got served and left before us. We won’t come back.I hope they will improve their service.

Good food and good experience. We asked for it to be crazy spicy hot. Although it was very good and the spiciness blended very well with the flavors, it wasn't hot by our standards (sweating on the first bite) on the pallet, but something about it did eventually trigger a nice glisten on the forehead. The one mistake was my own which was to miss the lunch specials on the front page. My companion and I got the exact same thing, except he got the lunch special. Our dishes looked identical, although his might have had one scoop less — it was hard to tell. I also got rice in a separate bowl and got a separate clean plate which I didn't understand nor need. Come to the bill and his is 15 and mine is 30. Lesson learned.

The fish panang was made with tempura fried orange roughy then stirred in. It was so good. All ingredients were fresh and the Thai Basil was amazing. Great service!

The food was okay, but the waitress was rude and dishonest. We arrived about three minutes after lunch ended, so we asked if we could still get the lunch rates. We were told no. So we ordered our lunches. I wanted panang curry with beef, but the waitress pushed me towards another dish. The food came out very quickly, and when we said something about how fast it was, the waitress said that it was left over from lunch. So we got sold the lunch dishes that had been sitting around and they charged us full price! My dish was thick and gooey as if it had cornstarch in it or it had been sitting cooking for a long time. The food was okay, but we're disappointed by how they treated us, and we won't be back.

Terrible Service + Food

Service: Wow I have never experienced such terrible customer service. I only came here for green papaya salad and this was one of the only places I saw had it near me.

As soon as I walked in, I was not greeted. The restaurant was empty, too. I waited for a little bit as waiters walked by. They could be busy. While waiting, I pulled up a menu at the podium. A guy sitting at a table eating asked me "are you ready??!!" I said yes. Still at the table, he asked me harshly "what do you want?" I told him my order. He walked to the podium angrily with his mouth full of food. I was not greeted with a smile or kind words.

When my order was ready and I paid, I asked for chopsticks to go. He threw 2 chopsticks in my paper bag. No thank you or nothing.

I am Asian and have traveled to many Asian countries, yet I have never experienced this bad of customer service.

Food: The green papaya salad was not good or tasty at all--it was bland and flavorless even though I asked for spicy and sour.

Next time I will buy my own ingredients to make green papaya salad :)

Ordered brown rice and Massaman chicken curry. The food arrived. I look at the chicken dish, no potatoes, and an integral ingredient of Massaman curry is potato. And instead of brown rice, white rice is placed on the table. I asked the server if this was the Massaman chicken I ordered? He said yes. There’s no potatoes I replied. He checked with the chef, they’d run out of potatoes! But, they are still selling Massaman. No offer to order something else. And he deducted the cost of the brown rice from the bill. I ate very little of a dry chicken dish. Paid the bill and left. I doubt I will return.

Extremely rude staff. There’s one person who picks up the call every time and he is so rude to customer, not just me but everyone who came when I was there. There are a lot other better restaurants out there.

Their recipes can be quite tasty, but you'd be surprised how sub-par their quality control and standards are. They've tried to elevate their cheap ingredients with ironclad recipes, and it's worked for many, but not for this one anymore.
Pay attention and you'll probably spot it.

I've been coming here since the 90s. No matter where I've traveled, this remains the BEST Thai food I've had by a significant margin. The best flavors, the best and freshest ingredients ... always ... and attentive service.
