Diner Review №1

Quaint Thai restaurant with lovely staff and delicious food. We had the duck fried rice and khua Kai. Both were great! Will definitely be coming back.

Diner Review №2

This place is so good!

Diner Review №3

the absolute tastiest and very sweet vibe to dine in solo or on a casual date.

Diner Review №4

Absolutely get the roti curry — it’s so good.

We got kea mao with tofu and it was fantastic. Had takeout for this place once and didn’t love it, but in person it’s a completely different story. Fantastic spot to stop!

Diner Review №6

I got really bad food poisioning from this place. Was in the bathroom for hours until the next morning...NEVER going here again. I only got fried rice....so that tells you something

Diner Review №7

Cozy lil neighborhood spot but don't let that fool you, the food is amazing. Come here regularly and have not tried anything on the menu I didn't enjoy. Dine-in vibes are also immaculate. Tight quarters with a real homey feel that really enhances the food and overall experience.

Diner Review №8

So friendly and tasty

Diner Review №9

One of the best meals I had in a week in ny.
Holy basil Crispy duck, papaya salad, pad kee mao chicken. Everything was perfect! Crispy duck was the best and cooked perfectly

Diner Review №10

Excellent Taiwanese food at reasonable price! Worth taking that L train over just for this!

Diner Review №11

The clouds were crying again last night (I think they just found out CARRIE CHATED ON AIDAN FOR big) so instead of a magical sunset I took my crush here for some Tom Yummy food. We ordered the Tom Kha Soup, Pad Kee Mao (without bell peppers cuz my crush is sensitive), and the Pineapple Fried Rice. For drinks we ordered their fresh ice water with unlimited refills. I heard a rumor they source their water from Chiang Mai but I haven’t fact checked this…. maybe it’s just the ice. The mushrooms in the Tom Kha Soup MUST have been FRESHLY PICKED, and my crush described the dish as the most coconut-y soup of her LIFE. I LOVED the Pad Kee Mao. It was a little spicy for my crush but she powered through because her tastebuds were dancing AUSTRALIAN SALSA 💃 . After her first bite she said she transitioned to a noodles first, rice second, bread third girlie (I was so proud 🥹)! I understand why Thailand is known as “The Land of Smiles” because the staff are SO KIND my heart was PEARCED with joy. The only downside about this place is there’s no bathroom, but there’s a Taco Bell 2 doors down with a CHEESY crunch wrap BATHROOM SUPREME. I’m already manifesting my return to dine here again! FIVE STARS ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Diner Review №12

Ordered takeout - super flavorful and very spicy which is exactly what you want 🌶️🌶️🌶️ everything on the menu is good but I love the beef pad see ew and the khao soy!

Diner Review №13

Truly the greatest. A delivery staple for north Brooklyn—and they have excellent service when dining in. Over the years I have tried many dishes and am always pleased. Try everything here!🤌🏼🤌🏼

Diner Review №14

this place is such a gem - the owner came out and wiped the table for us as it had rained, explained everything on the menu that we had questions about, and the FOOD?! absolutely insane. you can tell this is his passion. will be back for sure

Diner Review №26

FUEGOOOOO. really good mock duck!!

Diner Review №27

Diner Review №28

One of my favorite Thai places hands down!!
I usually get the pad see ew, drunken noodles, or tom kha gai and it’s always been consistently fresh and delicious. I tried the rice ball in coconut milk for dessert and it was so good!
It’s really small and cozy inside, just four small tables with two seats each. (No customer bathroom, which is good to know beforehand.) A lot of Thai spots are takeout only and I think it’s really nice that they offer the option to dine-in. Service has been excellent the times I’ve dined in. Always hospitable and kind. Great place to bring a friend (only one at a time). When the weather is nice I’ve seen tables outside as well.
They accept cc payments but you get a small 5% discount if you pay in cash.

Diner Review №29

Diner Review №30

Try the Khao Man Gai!

Diner Review №31

I came here over the weekend with as a group of 4 for a quick lunch. The restaurant itself is small and a bit claustrophobic; they didn’t have a table for 4 they simply had to combine two of the little tables for us to give you an idea of how cramped it is in there. There is also no bathroom available for customer use so keep that in mind as well.

Despite all this, I recommend this place. They have a lunch special that includes an appetizer and entree everyday of the week from open to 3pm with a nice range of choices and good portion sizes. Lunch special and an iced coffee or juice came to around $20 per person after tax and tip for reference.

The service was very kind and attentive. I cannot speak on the authenticity of the food but they had all the classics plus a few house specials that looked promising. I ordered the eggplant basil with pork and got buttery soft eggplants and tender meat, our only complaint as a group was that the food marked as spicy (eggplant basil and green curry) could have been a little bit spicier.

Diner Review №32

Diner Review №33

Great spot for lunch. The food is consistently great and the best Thai spot in the neighborhood

Diner Review №34

Consistently good. Lunch special deal is unheard of in this economy. Pad kee mao is out of this world

Diner Review №35

A cozy small joint for Thai street food! Seating is limited and no bathroom though.

Diner Review №36

I have been a customer of this restaurant for years. During lunch, I ordered the same dish on average 3-4 times a week, so I clearly loved the food. However, I am writing this review after having an unpleasant exchange with one of the servers yesterday [November 6, 2023].

Over the years, my problems typically included having my order made incorrectly, being given cold veg. spring rolls (but hot basil fried rice), kitchen being out of commisison and poor communication.

On November 4, 2023, when I ordered my food, my veg. spring rolls were cold, as if they had just been taken out of the refrigerator. I reported this to the restaurant and they said they would take care of me next time I ordered.

When I called my order in on November 6, 2023, I explained my previous problem to the woman. She apologized, and then I gave my order. [They all know it]. She never explained that the price had changed for the lunch special so when I went to pay and she said it was now $14 and some change instead of $11.87, I questioned the price change. In response, she pointed to a flyer on the wall. I was like, I come here so often that you could easily communicate that to me. I don't read the signs around their tiny restaurant and I explained that to her. She then proceeded to say I "always" have a problem as if I am the chef or server fixing my food incorrectly. She also tried to suggest that the reason [only] the spring rolls were cold was because I came so late to pick up my food which wasn’t true. I am a 5 minute bike ride away and my rice was always hot. I had already paid her the money and then she asked if I still wanted the food or not. I asked her to give me my change and then I left with the food.

When I went to eat, I noticed that they are now charging more for less. The lunch special no longer includes the salad, the pitiful new spring rolls are smaller than they use to be and you are possibly getting less rice as well.

The disrespect shown by these people towards a loyal, paying customer and 15 year resident of Williamsburg will never be forgotten.

Diner Review №37

Super tiny spot but worth it! I got the nahm ngiew (noodle soup with tomato base) and it was so yummy! It was spicy but not too spicy. The chicken thigh in it was also super tender.

Diner Review №38

Honestly the food and service here are both great, but the atmosphere is just… the restaurant is hot, and the tables are so small that you’re pressed against the wall. It’s poorly lit as well. The food however, is very good. The roti with curry was very greasy, but it made up for it with its texture and the flavor of the curry. The wonton soup was very good as well, and the banana sticky rice was the perfect mix of sticky and just a little sweet.

Diner Review №39

Very nice place to eat ! Special mention for their grilled chicken with a good portion !

Diner Review №40

Love this place!! This is my go to takeout spot. Highly recommend their udon red curry noodle soup, pad kee mao, and thip osha noodle soup. They are also very quick with takeout orders.

Diner Review №41

This place is exceptional. Food is so good and the owners are so incredibly nice. 10 out of 10 every time.

Diner Review №42

Fantastic food. I went here right after a trip to Thailand and thought it was fantastic. Everything on the menu looks worth trying. Not much seating, so bear that in mind.

Diner Review №43

My ride or die takeout Thai food. Top tier pad see ew, curries, and chive pancakes. I’ve tried most Thai spots in this area but this place is the best.

Diner Review №44

This was the best Thai food I've ever had outside of Thailand.

Diner Review №45

Hands down best pad thai I've had in nyc, lunch special is also incredible value 11/10

Diner Review №46

Amaaaazing! Try the spring rolls!!

Diner Review №47

the staff were very accommodating, friendly, & had great customer service skills. best noodle soup dish i’ve tried in a while: Ngaw Ngiew (a beloved noodle soup in Northern Thailand) and their duck is super crispy 👌🏻❤️🥰 my boyfriend also got me roses and they allowed me to set in on their bench which was very nice because the place is small but they do have some outdoor seating ✨

Diner Review №48

So good!

Diner Review №49

Food was so good. And the server was attentive. My brothers and I went mid day on a cloudy weekend. We had the place to ourselves

Diner Review №50

Eaten here three times now and coming from a girl who’s eaten homemade Thai food for most of her life… it’s fantastic. I’ve had a bunch of their dishes and they’re all pretty solid but I loved their Khao Mun Gai. Service here is good and the servers are very friendly.

Diner Review №51

Diner Review №52

Diner Review №53

Diner Review №54

Very small Uber drivers kept reaching over me to get their food from the server . But the food was so good I will definitely go back

Diner Review №55

This small place has like 4 tables and prob no bathroom, but it's mostly a takeout place. I dine in and had good service so no problem there.

The food was amazing.

Try the roasted duck noodle soup. Life changing

Diner Review №56

You’d think you were in Thailand if you came here! So unassuming, yet such incredibly delicious food. I’d particularly recommend the drunken noodles and tum yum soup but everything here is exquisitely superb.

Diner Review №57

Nice little spot! I was so happy to see roti canai on their menu. That dish warms my heart.

Diner Review №58

Pretty good Thai, somewhat more authentic than most Thai places in NY. Cafe-style seating.

Diner Review №59

They are so rude

Diner Review №60

Diner Review №61

Diner Review №62

My favorite spot in the neighborhood. The food’s always fresh and satisfying and they have good portions (the picture is my half eaten basil fried rice).

Diner Review №63

Had lunch here on Sunday and food was scrumptious. We had the roti curry and spring roll apps, then a udon noodle red curry soup special and tofu fried rice. Good and service was A++, such a lovely restaurant. Ashamed to say I had leftovers but eating them now they’re just as good!

Diner Review №64

Delicious authentic Thai food, I’ve had multiple things and it has surpassed my expectations. Last dish I had was the crispy duck and it was marvelous.

Diner Review №65

Diner Review №66

Food is delicious, service is perfect, thank you ❤️

Diner Review №67

Always good

Diner Review №68

Cute little restaurant with delicious food. Love the panang curry.

Diner Review №69

*** WARNING *** Will not allow customers to use restroom. Extremely rude and will never return. Or order delivery again. It is a shame because they have wonderful food, but making your customers go down the street to TACO BELL, it’s unbelievable and sure it’s not against the absurd NYC bathroom
Law but what restaurant doesn’t provide a restroom to its customers. Beware 🚫

Diner Review №70

Tiny Thai restaurant on Grand Street; the food is excellent! They also have a lunch special from 11.30 - 3.30pm (about $14 for an entree, salad and appetizer).

Diner Review №71

The best Thai food in New York I've ever tried. We got a noodle dish and curry with rice. I mistakingly ordered noodles that were WAY too spicy, thought I could handle it. The waiter just whisked them away and got the cook to do some magic on them, cuz when I got them back they were the perfect level of spice. They were super nice about it; I have a sneaking suspicion that this might be quite a regular occurrence. Didn't even charge us for the second dish. The curry we ordered wasn't spice at all, just the way we wanted. There were spicy curry options, too, of course. All in all, this was the first time I immensely enjoyed myself at a Thai place. I'll go here again in a heartbeat!

Diner Review №72

Diner Review №73

Thai rice was absolutely flavorless and the tofu was straight up plain.
Pad Thai noodles were over cooked and also flavorless….

Diner Review №74

Delicious and well priced

Diner Review №75

This place never disappoints, go to for take out, fast delivery, delicious food.

Diner Review №76

Pad Thai chicken is good. The green curry is not spicy and a bit too sweet.

Diner Review №77

The food - especially the noodle soups - are delicious. The service was very attentive and the portions generous. Highly recommend

Diner Review №78

Diner Review №79

Thip Osha is seriously lit. I’ve had almost every item on their menu - my favs are the Duck Noodle Soup, Tom Kha, Pad See Ew, Mango Sticky Rice and Thai Iced Tea. Amazing, just eat here and ignore any review that isn’t 5 stars.

Diner Review №80

best thai food in north brooklyn. especially love their tom yum soup and pad kee mau

Diner Review №81

Tiny seating area makes for a quaint experience. The food was lovely as well. Pad woon sen had such a rich flavor. The coconut rice dessert was A+ too.

Diner Review №82

Best Tom Yum soup I’ve had ever . First time trying pad see ew and it was really good as well . Incredible spot

Diner Review №83

My favorite Thai spot in NY! Its the best.

Authentic & Delicious Thai food, with amiable service, and reasonable prices.
I can't wait to try their other dishes!
Don't miss the Sexy Duck.

We went strolling for some Thai food on a Sunday night. Even though we were 4 people + stroller, and the restaurant can't usually fit more than 2 small tables, they made an effort and sat us down inside.
Please be aware, that you will be sitting very close to the kitchen, so if the smell/smoke bother you, you might prefer to get take-out instead.

We got:
Beef Salad - One of our favorite classic Thai salads. The beef was seared in this variation. The portion was big enough for us to share, with plenty of herbs.

Noodle-less Pad Thai - One of our family members preferred the noodle-less version, to avoid the extra carbs. Don't be mistaken, this is the lesser Pad Thai (because, you know, noodles are quite a critical ingredient in a Pad Thai). However, for what it is, it was still good. Stir-fried vegetables and shrimp, in a delicious Pad Thai sauce. Plenty of vegetables!

Sexy Duck - ALWAYS ORDER A SEXY DISH. I mean, wouldn't you want your food to be sexy?
Crispy duck, with lots of mango, some pineapple, and other vegetables. My only regret was that I had to share it.

Nom Jin Pu - Off the menu special. Authentic Thai curry dish, with lots of crab and homemade fish balls. It is VERY SPICY. It has plenty of crab meat, including it's internal parts, which might be too bitter for you, if you're not familiar with these flavors.

Mango sticky rice: Delicious, well made, Thai dessert. Served with a whole mango, and not too sweet. A perfect way to end a Thai meal.

I'm looking forward to try the rest of the menu!

Diner Review №92

Just ordered from Thip Osha for the first time. Every last item was delicious and I have to say better Thai than I have had in years. My very first experience with Thai food was back in the early 80's just before Thai food became a thing here in NYC. The place was called Jai Ya in Elmhurst. My second great Thai experience was about ten years later at SriPraPhai in Woodside Queens. In between those times were numerous avg Thai places that most would consider good, for me I'd say avg and better than nothing. But but the food I just had from Thip Osha is on the level of Jai Ya and Srip.Their Roti served with a curry sauce for dipping was superb. Red Curry with Crispy Pork perfect. The Green Papaya salad was dressed with chili lime dressing and tho I've had it a thousand times in other places here you have an extra herbal flavor in the dressing as well as the freshest crispiest vegetables. The Shrimp in the Pad Thai were cooked while making the dish not pre or overcooked and were tender and juicy. Just had a taste of their Coconut custard for dessert that too was different and so good. The delivery driver was friendly and the order came within 20 minutes of ordering. Thip Osha is my new go to Thai place in Williamsburg Brooklyn.

Diner Review №93

I got their panaeng curry and it was the most disappointing panaeng I've ever had. The curry consistency was watery and it just had chicken and broccoli in it, nothing else... I usually am able to make my curry into 2 meals at any other thai place but I ate everything in one sitting... save yourself the disappointment and go to Sage just a few blocks away. Quality and quantity is poor here.

Diner Review №94

Diner Review №95

Good food, and services. Recommended.

Diner Review №96

Diner Review №97

Have ordered delivery from Thip Osha ~100 times over the last two years and have been there physically a few times too; timely and absolutely delicious every time. Thank you for the incredible service and food!

Diner Review №98

food is delicious and well made!!! Highly recommended

Diner Review №99

Diner Review №100

My official neighborhood spot! Everything I’ve gotten has been delicious and bursting with flavor. Go-to favorites are the shredded papaya salad and the chive pancakes. The Thai iced tea is perfectly made and the soups have all been spot-on. Thanks for making COVID times a little easier and more delicious.

Diner Review №101

Thip Osha is a neighborhood gem. There's a couple of options for Thai in the area, including Sage just a few blocks away, but I've found Thip Osha to be more consistent for takeout. They fulfill pickup orders extremely fast-- I'm talking like 10 minutes, piping hot and tasty. I noticed prices went up a bit for protein options in their dishes unfortunately so I usually go with vegetables which I've actually come to like more anyway. Their Spicy Basil Fried Rice is my go-to.

Diner Review №102

Great food for the price, very tasty. I would have given 5 Stars but they removed Desserts off the online menu, which is one of the main reasons I liked this place. Bring the desserts back!!

Diner Review №103

Diner Review №104

Thip osha should have ka boom keen bam ya poo in Grubhub options so that is why I don’t need to call the restaurant every single time.

Diner Review №105

Diner Review №106

All dishes were excellent! Green curry with salmon was very tasty.
Take out available.
Very clean.

Diner Review №107

Amazing! Can’t believe this gem hidden in Williamsburg

Diner Review №108

This place is AMAZING!! I've had their Pad Thai before, and I recently tried their Udon Curry Soup, Mango Sticky rice, and Thai tea!! Can I just say it was so delicious and full of flavor. The people who work there are also so kind and welcoming!! I totally recommend this place to anyone and everyone 😁👍

Diner Review №109

Thip Osha is our favorite restaurant in the neighborhood! We've eaten here for two years and never been disappointed. Their red curry is rich and spicy. The cocunut custards (when available) are the stuff of dessert dreams.

Diner Review №110

The food is really awesome and comes in good sizes. They also deliver pretty fast.

Diner Review №111

Thip Osha is like a friend who always has your back. I’ve ordered from this place 5+ times and it never fails to disappoint. The duck curry is spicy and rich and has SO much crispy-skinned, juicy duck. My roommate got the tom yum seafood noodle soup and it was delicious as well— plus they were accommodating of all her substitution requests! I will be very sad if I ever move out of their delivery range <3

Diner Review №112

Diner Review №129

Great thai food! Very spicey and authentic!

Diner Review №130

I came here for lunch on a weekend again for the lunch special, and I again got the pad kee mao with tofu and dumplings as the appetizer. I ate in the restaurant this time though, and it was equally tasty! I do want to note that the tofu is firm tofu and not fried tofu, and the tofu flavor's not great. There's also not very many vegetables in the pad kee mao, which is a bit disappointing. The noodles themselves are chewy and delicious, and the flavor is bold. It's also sufficiently spicy! Amount of food is good for the lunch special price of $9.50 pre-tax pre-tip, as it comes with a salad, a (small) appetizer, and the main dish.

Diner Review №131

Diner Review №132

We order from here all the time and it’s easily the best Thai food in the neighborhood. It’s consistently delicious and freshly prepared. The dishes have heaps of vegetables and garnished with herbs - a rarity with other places. Delivery and pickup is always super quick. The lunch specials are great value. Requests are always accommodated. Nothing bad to say - it’s a gem.

Diner Review №163

Happened to stuble apon this place one day while walking around so we gave it a shot. It definitely was a good choice. The food was very reasonable priced. We ordered an appetizer which was the papya salad and a soup to share since it was kind of a chilly day out. Both were very delicious and one of the best papya salads I had in Brooklyn. The soup was also very good. The broth was full of flavor as well it was the one with the duck. It's definitely big enough for two to share. The staff was very friendly and helped accommodate us. Would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.

Diner Review №164

This is the most dishonest restaurant ever. They charged me an 18% tips using after tax amount in the receipt already. And then the waitress hided the receipt with the price breakdown and gave me another credit card receipt, expecting me to give an extra 18% tips. It is totally unacceptable. And the waitress didn't even feel sorry for her unethical act at all after I pointed it out.

Diner Review №165

Great place! Delicious food & super accommodating staff.

Diner Review №166

This is the rudest, most unprofessional restaurant I've ever encountered. I used to eat here when it was another Thai restaurant so I was curious about it. The restaurant was almost empty when the three of us walked in. All the tables are 2-seaters. "Can we move another chair to a table?" we asked.

"No," they said.

We stared at them and each other. Yes, they couldn't do anything for us. We left.

I went back twice more. Once at 3:30, and once at 3:50. (The alleged "lunch special" goes until 4.) Both times they were sitting inside and the closed sign was on the door. The second time I pushed it open and they confirmed that they were closed.

I dunno, I guess they just got tired of cooking and figured they'd have a cigarette or watch TV or something.

On the plus side, it's nice they're not overly burdened with responsibility. It's nice they listen to their inner voices. On the minus side, it's too bad their inner voices say "F*** all these damn people who want food!" They need to get into a business where their attitude would be appreciated. Maybe as IRS accountants, or spokespeople for President Trump.

So far so good. I ordered Chicken Pad see Ew and Tom Yum for Delivery and it came on time and hot. I have been looking for good Thai Delivery to Bushwick, and I think I found it! Next I have to try the Chicken Pad thai and Golden fritter. Until then I will see how I feel about this place.

Diner Review №178

You won't find a lot of bells and whistles with the food here -- simplicity is the goal and it works out just fine. The food is delicious, always brought out hot and fresh. For the price, this place is an absolute steal. I highly recommend the pad see ew.

Diner Review №179

Amazing!

Diner Review №180

Really delicious 😋

Diner Review №181

Diner Review №182

Last night i order the chu chee salmon and panang curry. The food was so good and even take out presentation like dine in. Great!! Service

Diner Review №183

The food was tasty and the service was excellent. We ordered the Tom yum, Som Tum, curry puffs, and pad krapow. Everything was deliciously authentic, but the Som tum was definitely the highlight. My roommate and I are both Thai and really glad this place opened up right across the street from our apt. It's not as good as some of the Thai food in queens, but probably one of the best places I've tried in Brooklyn.

Diner Review №184

Diner Review №185

Terrific authentic thai food, would recommend take out before dining in though. Place is a tad bit small.

Diner Review №186

Stopped in after work to sit and eat. Asked to wash my hands and waitress said ' we don't have a place to wash hands'. Are you freaking kidding me! Food sub par..service sucks. I was served water in a blue plastic kiddie cup!

Diner Review №187

Diner Review №188

Diner Review №189

I won't ever eat here again, ever
Small sitting area
Place have a bad musky order
Furniture needs updating, plus the place is not welcoming, just terrible...smdh.
Food make cheaply and greasy, distasteful
It's a run down shack place
I wouldn't recommend this place to Noone, Ever
Poor service and presentation
Lack of cleanliness + atmosphere is very poor- it's like an outhouse dirty kitchen.
Just a distasteful place to even consider going....Better elsewhere, with better quality.

Great food! My pad Thai was yummy but keep in mind there is no bathroom and they only take cash.

Diner Review №194

I hate giving negative reviews but this place was terrible. We ordered our food over the phone and had to wait for an hour and a half. We called after half hour and they just blew us off and said it was on the way. We finally got the food and the portions were just so small. Food was generic and service was poor.

Thai food by Thai people. One of the best Thai spots in NYC. Their fried rice is perfectly executed.

Diner Review №196

Color me shocked: this is the best Thai in the neighborhood, and that's including Pagoda, Sage, Lily Thai, and Cheers. I highly recommend the lunch special, with an entree & rice, a spring roll, and a salad clocking in at less than $7.

I toss out the standard-issue spring roll that'd get a gold medal in wonton-skin crunchiness but fails to qualify with either filling or taste, and the salad is small and dull. The entrees, though, are exemplary. The curries are beautifully seasoned and fresh-tasting, and the basil chicken is a favorite. Sure, they're a little short on chicken, but did you miss the part where I said they're UNDER SEVEN BUCKS?

Diner Review №197

We had dinner here. The duck curry was great! The duck was cook good for a curry and it had just enough kick. Ba mee was a little bland bit was still good. This place is definitely worth checking out. I'm sure we'll be back if we are in the area
