Great location in the heart of Nobhill! It was a walk up window situation which was totally fine as we were planning to do carry out. The owner greeted us and took our order! He was very friendly and welcoming. We got the chicken drunken noodles and shrimp red curry. We ordered the drunken noodles level 4 spicy (spiciest level) and they were so good! Perfect amount of heat for spicy food lovers. The red curry had a depth of flavor that was to die for. We live close by so we will definitely be frequenting anytime we crave Thai food.

I finally found a place that makes it delicious. The owner and his wife were extremely kind and it was made fresh. My husband got the drunken noodles with beef and i kept stealing bites of that too. The meat was tender and the noodles were so saucy and good. I grabbed my order and went to the car and the owner chased me down because he forgot the dumplings and I'm so glad he took the time because my kids ate those dumplings so fast licking their fingers and asking for more. I am definitely going to be going back and trying more dishes. The customer service alone was worth it.

I so wanted to like this lunch. Thom ka is my favorite soup and a treat when I am able to order it. This dish was boldly underwhelming. The flavor was shallow with an extremely small amount of chicken. The vegetables were cut with little to no care at all and made for chewy, stick like bites, resulting in having to pull tough fibrous particles from my mouth.

Not just the best but *one of the only remotely good* Thai restaurants in Alby. Delishhhh food, friendly staff, cute neon — only wish they had a table or two onsite, even outside. Otherwise all love!

This place is consistently delicious, consistently fast and the proprietor is always friendly. There is no indoor seating — or outdoor for that matter — but it’s super convenient to call ahead and pick up from the window on the sidewalk. I like to walk my dog over there and grab my lunch order. Breaks up the workday! I love the panang curry with tofu 😊

Boy oh boy, incredible food as always. Red curry with shrimp and tofu pad Thai, two favorites with quite a lovely taste. Usually spicy 2 is spicy enough for my household. Unfortunately, tonight’s pad Thai order to go was (maybe…?) half full, so one star falls.

Salathai— increase your prices if you gotta! We understand! We’ll pay more for a full dinner portion rather than pay the same amount for less food.

I've been going their since 2004, and the owner and his wife are incredibly sweet, and take pride in their cooking. Lots of love in those dishes. You will be pleased!

Overpriced and small portions, not a lot of flavor. We got pad Thai tonight and I ordered egg rolls but they gave me spring rolls which were flavorless, much like the pad Thai which relied mostly on spice not flavor. The meat was dry and tough. 42$ and very disappointed. Thai orchid and thai cuisine II are still the best in town.

if i am getting pad thai, i only want it from Sala Thai. it is consistently good, and i personally like it more than pad thai from anywhere else in town. i also like to the garlic shrimp. we always order these two dishes.

Wonderful pad thai! The owner is a delight if you have the chance to have a conversation with him. Their food seems a little spicier than other Thai places, so you might want to take your normal spice level down a notch. Definitely worth the visit. I'll be going there again.

My friend ordered a Drunken Noodles and a Pad Thai. It was pretty tasty and it was made pretty quickly. The guy at the window was really nice and waved out the window at my friend because it was cold and he didn't want to stand outside. My friend asked for it to be spicy and he says it was a good level of spicy (he has a taste for spicy).

Fantastic food and excellent, friendly service. Lots of great vegetarian options. Will be back!

Best Thai Food in ABQ!

I’ve lived in Southeast Asia and Guam in the past. I fell in love with the food there and for years I’ve searched for Thai food that reminds me of the real thing. Sala Thai is the most authentic and best I’ve found stateside after trying Thai food in dozens of major cities. Their glass noodle Pad Thai Special is perfect and the owner is always friendly when I go in. A great neighborhood restaurant.

Sala Thai is my neighborhood go-to for Thai food. Peter and everyone working there are always friendly, efficient, and cook up really delicious dishes. I frequently crave their Tom Kha, yellow curry and drunken noodles. They also do call-in orders, which is a lifesaver on days when I don't have time to sit down in the warm and homey space.

Such a great restaurant. We regularly eat here for many reasons. Number one is the always friendly proprietor who will never greet you without a smile on his face. Number two, the food is always consistent and very delicious. The dine-in restaurant is nothing fancy (we usually get take out) but overall I think that the pros greatly outweigh the cons.

You wouldn't expect to find this gem located in Nob Hill! Authentic homemade Thai food . I picked up the Tom kha Gai soup and Drunken Noodles with a side of jasmine rice, all were delicious! I will be back to engage in great conversation with the owner and also to receive excellent food quality.

We go here about once a week for carry-out. They are so friendly, and the food is divine. I don't even want to try another Thai spot in town because I'm over the moon about Sala Thai.

Sala Thai is a neighborhood gem. This small restaurant offers delicious Thai dishes in a casual environment. It is family owned and operated and everything on the menu that I have tried has been wonderful! They have a lunch special with 15+ options for $8-9 that includes an amazing spring roll and soup. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area, and if not making the trip is worth it!

This is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE place ever! Everything is full of flavor! Authentic food and welcoming owners! I drive about 15 miles for my fix.

Egg rolls were delish The main dish was very tasty. But the steamed rice tasted like it was leftover from the day before, mushy.

It has a loyal following and the food is tasty, but is more of a niche market than mainstream.

The owner came out. He is a remarkable chef, kind man and made a wonderful banana dessert for my grandchildren. We stayed a long time it was so good. Go try to support them. This is a restaurant that deserves to stay in business. Prices were very reasonable for their lunches. If you ask. They will provide child pilates. Bathrooms and restaurant very clean.

I have stopped going here, due to repeated concerns with shiftiness at the register. The owner charges extra if you pay by credit card. At first there was no charge, then there was a minimum to be spent by credit card, which he kept increasing. He kept finding ways to tell us we had not spent enough to not get extra charges. Also, he does not usually disclose that he has charged you extra fees, and some menu items over price listed on the menu. Be wary. Prices are too good to be true, and I worry they cut corners in other ways behind the scenes.

The food here is very good, and the prices are low. They have lots of vegetarian and vegan options. However, the service is VERY slow (like 20+ minutes to get your food, even if they're not crowded), and the entrees don't really have any spice to them, even if you ask for spicy.

I absolutely love this place. Their soups are incredible and flavorful. Solid service. I highly recommend.
