(Update): She did take our order which arrived 35 minutes later. It was just edible, nothing you would want to go out to eat. Luke warm food, drunken noodles were meh. An average microwave Thai food tastes better. There was a 15 minute delay to get the check. Overall, spent 2 hours for dinner.

There were other guests who went to the counter to pay and waited there for 10+ minutes. We also opted for the same when we saw the slower response to get things sorted out on the table.

The atmosphere is somewhat bland and simple but the service, food, portions and prices more than make up for it. The portions are very generous and will feed us for at least two more meals. The flavors of the foods were superior and our server was a fire cracker. We never had to ask for refills. She was extremely attentive and helped to create an all around good experience!

My husband ordered the Drunken Noodles and the Sushi Sampler (they have two size options). The noodles were jam packed with flavor and both him and my daughters thoroughly enjoyed the Sushi, my daughter mentioned the sushi wasn’t fishy at all, she said it tasted very fresh and was pleasant to the palate. The yellow Curry and Chicken Thai Fried Rice also came in generous portions and were delicious and satisfying. The star of the show for me was the Hot Pot soup we ordered. It was $14, and was enough for three people. It comes in either shrimp or chicken and they have two broth options. We opted for the coconut milk one with cilantro and WOW WAS IT DELICIOUS!! Honestly, I will be going back for that Hot Pot alone.

They have a variety of drink options, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The Thai Tea my daughter had was super refreshing and creamy. My husband and I had the Fuji Apple Sake and Pear and they were so smooth and sweet, the Sake was delicious.

The service was great, our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable with her recommendations for food. The prices were $10 and up but that seems to be the norm nowadays.

If you’re in the mood for some Thai/Japanese food give this place a try. Step out of your comfort bubble and try out some new things from the menu, you might just surprise your taste buds! This place is a thumbs up for me.

Excellent, high-quality Asian cuisine. I especially enjoyed the Japanese and Thai food, though every dish is worthy of recommendation! The restaurant felt very traditional but welcoming, and there was plenty to choose from.

Service is a bit slow, but only due to understaffing, and our server was very kind and helpful. While it may be slow at busier hours, it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the mood for traditional Asian food!

Tofu is available to add to all of the dishes. It was relatively quick even though the restaurant was quite full. There were good options for the vegan and non vegans in the family. We had Penang Curry with a sweet and spicy kick and the right amount of tofu, Pad Thai which was amazing, had perfect texture and flavor, and Pad See Ew with chicken that was cooked to perfection.

Volcano Roll is hands down my favorite sushi roll. The sushi Nigiri is also amazing, to top it off amazing atmosphere and waiters!

My husband and I arrived and got taken care of pretty quick. However, our sushi roll was forgotten at first and thus we had to ask for it a second time. Then our drinks were never refilled. Then we got charged higher for our sushi roll than was posted on the menu and they did not fix the error even after we pointed it out. They advised us that we “must have gotten an old menu” and left it at that.

So this is our second time here at the Asian garden restaurant. We asked for easy rice on the rolls because the first time they had to much rice . We got our order it was all rice so we did not eat the rolls. , when confronting the waitress she proceeded to tell us if we don’t pay it will come out of her check . Illegal as all heck . When we confronted the owner who is also the chef we were met with ugly hostility and told don’t come back …. So the only reason they got any star is because without it there is no review!!!

It use to be good.

Just not good at all. The so-called lunch chicken with vegetable hibachi was loaded with onion and two little pieces of zucchini. The chicken was so dry that it wasn't edible. The miso soup tasted sour to all of us. Passed on that one quickly. Honestly, the only good thing that turned out right was the steamed rice and the service. It's one of those places that makes you wonder if you're going to get sick after you eat (stated by another guest that was with me). A hard pass.

To keep it simple, I like Chinese, Thai, and Japanese food. I can not understand how this place is rated as high as it is. Service was ok. Just ok, nothing special. Food was about as bland as it gets. I've had more bland food at a hospital, but that's about it for comparison. Food was edible and that's all I'll say. Would not recommend this restaurant and won't be back.

Soooo. We have been a loyal customer for years! Food has always been delicious! Until tonight. After $154.00 with tip didn’t eat half. Called and complained nicely to the sweet girl that answered the phone. But shame on you OWNER if you hire a new chef the interview should consist of the “chef” preparing the entire menu with a tasting from your staff including yourself! The food that we received tonight was disgusting. Even the roll that we ordered was subpar. Please fix this quickly!

An unexpectedly delightful experience. 😊 Only bummer was, they were out of many of their sushi rolls, but we wanted a heartier meal anyway. What we did have was great! Fresh, hot, flavorful. So good we ordered extra to take home.

Yesterday I got the crunchy shrimp and it was terrible. There is no shrimp on it only one maybe and it wasn’t covered with the seafood stuff which they usually put and all the ingredients is not there. No avocado. Very poor quality.
They used to be much better, but now the quality of the food is lower, and the prices is higher.

Hidden gem! I can’t believe a place this good is in Alamogordo. Great sushi, great hibachi, great Thai. And very friendly staff! I honestly can’t say enough good things about this place.

Wife ordered medium beef teriyaki. I ordered hibachi filet mignon, medium-well and chicken combo w/fried rice. Beef for both of us was well-done and tough and leathery. My wife sent hers back and was told by the waitress that the chef said he couldn't make the meat "softer". Veggies are mostly onions.
We used to love going here.
However, our last 4 trips has been very disappointing.
Don't plan on going back or recommending this place.

We stopped here on our roadtrip to Texas, and were looking for a large dinner before continuing through the night. The staff were very attentive and kind, and were actively checking with the customers in an evenly distributed effort. The food was AMAZING! They even did a little thing for my mother as it was Mother’s Day (God bless her soul) and the meal was eaten in a matter of minutes. The bathrooms could use a redesign, or maybe expanded, honestly I would’ve gone outside if it wasn’t a 2. The wait was unexpectedly long, about 45 minutes of sitting and talking. I definitely recommend ordering ahead and taking to-go, but other than that, food is great!

It was my husband my bestfriend and I first time trying Thai food, I told the waiter he was allergic to seafood what do they have to offer for his saftey .. she recommended something for appetizers it was fine . My husband ordered chicken and steak as his meal. While eating he found two shrimps on his plate and had/having a terrible allergic reaction ! I genuinely felt like it was intentional because I VOICED he was allergic !!!! Then I had to fight for some type of compensation, really wish I took a picture and took them to court !! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Nice stop for Asian cuisine in Alamogordo. Our server was delightful. It took a little longer than expected to receive our order. The chicken in the pad Thai was dry/overcooked.
The dining area was clean and pleasant. The men's bathroom needs some attention.

I have had sushi all across the US as I have been traveling. I went here because of the reviews and honestly someone wasn't telling the truth. This is easily the worst sushi I have ever had. I ordered 4 rolls that I typically get whenever I order sushi. I walked in to order. The place itself was on. They told me it would be about a 25 minute wait. There was 1 table of about 5 people when I came in. A couple of two tops came in later. I waited more than 40 minutes. When I got to my camping spot 15 minutes later the sushi was such a disappointment. The rolls were very loosely rolled and one roll wasn't even what I ordered. The Wasabi was liquefied and unusable. Like I said I have had fantastic sushi, bad sushi and now sushi that shouldn't even be sold as sushi. Such a disappointment.

I’m very disappointed in this business. I have been there multiple times in the past and they have always been kind about subbing fish out for something vegetarian in my favorite rolls. This last time they outright refused. It’s not difficult to leave out salmon and add cucumber or tofu. It was the only place in town that I could get good vegetarian sushi up until now, they even hosted the local vegetarian group for an event a few years back.
If a business doesn’t allow substitutions then it needs to be stated in the menus. Maybe I just caught the staff on a bad day but the dining area was quite empty . We just left to go somewhere else .

My husband and I have eaten there for several years and just found out they had orange chi Ken so we ordered the chicken and they brought us chicken nuggets, I told our waitresses I could eat them and told to bring me the shrimp hibachi and she did. When she brought us the tickets she told us they wouldn't take the nuggets off , charged me for the shrimp for $27. She said the Mgr. wouldn't take it off. Well that's it for us, NO MORE WILL WE EAT THERE AND I WILL NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!

The staff were attentive, polite and professional.
The food is EXCELLENT! I have had food from all over the world and Asian good is my go-to comfort food. I had the steak & shrimp with fried rice and was very impressed with the portion and flavor.
Even though we were warned there would be a long wait, the owner was cooking and the food came out faster than expected.
My 3 yr old loved the California roll and my 13 yr old loved his teriyaki beef.
Back to the staff - they are a credit to the resturant.
We have found our new favorite place to eat.
10/10 would reccomend to anyone looking for Asian food.

Owner steals the servers tips by taking 20 percent of there tips that they earned and when you ask about it they fire you. And make up lies. On top of that nothing is fresh or vegetarian even if they tell you it is when it's not then they double charge there customers and act like he doesn't understand what they are saying when it's more then one separate charge at different times.

Although the food was excellent, we will never eat here again. We ordered "high-end entrees and wine, with a sushi appetizer. Our waiter went for the wine and returned to inform us this wine was nolonger available. There was a second white wine on the menu ($18.90) we settled for that. When our check was presented the wine was $38.00. I went to the hostess (who spoke excellent English) and pointed out the error. She explained the menu was not up to date and the price doubled. I explained I was not paying for wine if that was the case. She brought the owner into the conversation. He said the same BS, and I said I wasn't paying. Result: We did not pay for thewine wine no tip and a talk with every table on the way out the door.

We visited this place for lunch, and they were short staffed, waited for about 10-12 mins to be seated. We asked them if they had any vegetarian food in the menu before getting seated, and they said Yes. While taking the order after asking multiple questions, we learned that all their food was premixed with oyster sauce, which does not make it vegetarian. The staff were not really responsive. It was very hard to have them to talk. Not a suitable restaurant for vegetarian/vegan people.

If you decide to eat at this place make sure you are vigilant with your payment method. There is a server there who will charge your card for a tip you did not give. I have a business client who ate there yesterday. He paid with a credit card and did not realize the card has not been returned to him. A few hours later he received a spending alert telling him the card had been used to purchase over $300 dollars of merchandise at Walgreens. The server kept the card then went and used it to buy stuff for themselves. I have insisted that my client notify the police, but he is a really nice guy who doesn't like to cause problems for others, so he may not pursue legal action. I do not believe this should go unaddressed, so I am writing this review to warn others to always be wary when you hand over your card. Make sure you get it back, and make sure you get the receipt, and fill in the tip yourself. Hopefully the owner of this place reads this review and fires the thief, since they have been made aware of the situation by my friend. And now this review is a reminder as well.

Very busy service slow but good food top grade

This is one of our favorite places to eat. It's a little expensive, but when we can afford to eat out we like to come here. The Thai Tea is amazing, and I order the Pad Thai every time. The service is amazing (although it can be a bit slow around mealtime rushes).

I got gluten free sushi from here last year. My server was extremely knowledgeable about gluten and was able to help me and got me sushi without gluten. It was wonderful.

Today, I tried to order sushi. The "owner" answered, said they don't have gluten free because they use rice. I told him rice doesn't have gluten and asked to speak with someone else because he obviously didn't know what gluten is.
He got extremely rude with me and said there was absolutely no one else available to speak with me and take my order.
Then he hung up on me.
Absolutely horrible.
I will tell EVERYONE that he refused to let me speak with someone else for assistance and hung up on me.

Terrible service and rude staff. They leave customers standing by the door with more than half of the tables available. They refused to even seat the little kids on any of the available chairs while we wait.

Great place for Sushi, Hibachi and the Pad Thai see ew is fantastic!

Everything is always incredible here. Plenty of perfectly prepared food. Everything we have tried thus far has been incredible.

SERVICE WAS SUPERB!!! FOOD WAS AMAZING! I enjoyed the food immensely! The food was 10+... not one person in our group was unhappy. Everyone was very happy with the food and just cluld not stop earing! And do not get me started on the service.... Toni our waitress, not only was she pretty (lol) she was super nice, soooo pleasant! Loved her! and if I'm ever in New Mexico again I'd visit there again not just because of the food but definitely because of the service!!!

This place was great! Had the Holloman roll, it was top notch. Micheal was awesome and we will be back soon! Price is very fair. Go to any decent place like this and you will pay the same or more.

Just wow! Incredible service (ask for Michael) and awesome food. Had the sushi and it was great. (Holloman roll is deep fried) the pad see ewe is a different sauce then I am used to but I will say that it is definitely good.

We really liked all the food we were served. The drunken noodles were super flavorful and the chicken tom yum soup was so tasty. Even though busy our server was attentive and competent. Definitely worth the trip!

Very poor customer service. The suchi I bought tasted old and dry. Manger refused to remake or refund. Don’t eat here.

I have No idea how this place came by a 4.1 rating!!!
The most inept waiter I have encountered in a very long time. He was almost comically bad.
Tom ka soup was thin, watery and flavorless. We had to add several packages of soy sauce to make it have any flavor. The chicken pieces were huge and tough.
Pad ginger smelled good and had overall ok flavor, but everything was cut too big and the beef had a slightly odd flavor.
Also, they brought 2 plates for the two of us, but the rice was on one of the plates, which meant that we had to split it all right away. No serving spoon on the dish with the food, and when I asked for one, I was told "we don't have serving spoons" .
The only redeeming virtue: at least it wasn't very expensive.

I ordered two orders of shrimp pineapple fried rice. Resturant made it with chicken and then refused to give me a refund or remake the food.
