Maybe the papaya salad would better without lettuce and tomato, just papaya.

Interesting spot with a basic clean, inviting dining room. Portions are generous and the service is friendly. I am not sure about the authenticity of the flavors based on my experiences in Thailand itself. Drunken noodles left a little to be desired with not enough vegetables or basil, larger clumps of noodles than I am used to, and chicken that was not enjoyable (cut too thick, seemingly unseasoned, and absent of any flavor at all). My wife got the vegetarian dish with peanut sauce and we both had to ask ourselves if we could make out any peanut flavor at all. I did enjoy the Tom yum soup and Thai iced tea.

Taste of food is not authentic or anything special. I saw many similar reviews and agreed with them after having dinner there. I think Beef pad Thai needs more beef otherwise it is just noodle plate and the same thing for pineapple fried rice with chicken plate. Authentic foods (Korean, Mediterranean, Turkish, Chinese etc ) are made of the same type of cook from who are originally from south america in this region. In other words cooks at Thai restaurants are not from Thai, Turkish are not Turkish etc. That is why authentic food does not taste anything special anymore. I am disappointed many authentic restaurant in this area.

Our server Carlos was very nice and attentive. Started with the chive dumplings that were crispy and a bit doughy. I had the tofu drunken noodles that wasn’t too spicy which i asked for. My dad got the green curry which was a bit soupy for him but a good spice level. I loved the passion fruit drink!! a casual dine in experience

The food was super hot (temperature wise) and well seasoned, spice levels on point (but can request + - spice) The prices are really reasonable when picking up. Definitely recommend. Super nice service and quick food. We should be patronizing restaurants like these, independently owned by hard working people. Will definitely add this to my list of regular places to eat at/takeout.

Service is good, food comes out quick. Problem is the food authenticity and taste. Def not authentic, kinda taste like Thai. Pad thai is way too sweet, papaya salad is decent but need more papaya and doesnt need to sit on a bed of lettuce, and spice level is good but its not how one would expect from Thai food, which is through creating thai chili oil.

Was trying to find a good Thai place since moving from Manhattan forever to Hoboken! This place is as good as your favorite Manhattan Thai spot.

Ordered it back to back days! Drunken Noodles / Tom Kha soup is so good

Ordered on grubhub. I ordered red curry chicken with sticky rice. The curry sauce was incredible, creamy and not spicy (I requested mildest). You can ask for whatever level you want.

The chicken in the curry was rubbery and over cooked.

The sticky rice was a major let down. It was inside plastic wrapping INSIDE of a white container. The rice maybe was less than a third of the total volume of the container. Really messed up to mislead customers. I requested a refund from grubhub and received it.

I added green tea ice cream. I received vanilla. I also got a refund for that.

My husband said the Thai fried rice with chicken was normal. He said 3/5. I’ve had better myself as well.

Overall I would order again because all the others are even worse. Sri Thai in Hoboken was the best one but they closed. (I order food 3-4x/year so it’ll be a long while before I even consider it) I used to order 3-4x weekly before I changed my lifestyle entirely so I know good Thai when I have it.

I've been in search of my new go-to Thai restaurant after my favorite restaurant unexpectedly closed. Unfortunately, this restaurant really missed the mark. I ordered 2 chicken pad thais and made sure to select the spiciest level (Thai spicy/ extra spicy) and even added an additional note to ensure that the pad thai would be spicy. To my surprise, not only was the pad thai not spicy, but it was actually SWEET. If you enjoy sugar noodles, this place is for you. But I will still be on my endless search for my pad thai spot that will actually serve spicy.

the worst delivery experience! my food never arrived. i placed an order and called the place to change delivery time which they accepted. they never called to update me on delays. we were starving (including small children who had just finished a 2h swim meet). they still continued to charge me for food i never received! disgusting!

Placed an order over the phone and was told to pick up in 20 minutes. Got there in 25 minutes to find out the woman who took my order never put the order in the chefs. All I was offered was to wait another “10” minutes while they prepared the food. Night ruined. Never again

I’ve been to many Thai restaurants and this has to be by far the most unauthentic I ever had. The Tom Yum soup was sweet for some weird reason. None of the staff including the cooks in the back are even remotely Asian. I won’t ever go back, shout out to the server Carlos he was great !!

The Thai iced tea and Thai shrimp rolls were good, but the chicken Pad See Ew was underwhelming sadly.

The food from here always delicious, Carlos always is there attentive for anything we need, great area, a little difficult to find a parking but you must got it the risk. Recommended 100%.

Don’t order delivery from this place bc they will keep pushing out the delivery time to over and hour more than they originally guaranteed. Don’t deliver to areas if you can’t make a delivery sooner than 1hr45 min later.

Ordered through the website, seems that they use DoorDash for their delivery. They gave the wrong address to the delivery person and the delivery went to a completely different address. Restaurant will not answer their phone so that I can request a refund .

I ordered through delivery and the food was terrible. The noodles were overdone and soggy, shrimp was not clean poop line was there in every shrimp, and I found white hair in my food. I took two bites before noticing all of this. I got sick throwing up all this “food” I’ll never order food from here again. My dish was drunken noodle.

I've ordered before with satisfactory food. But this last time was dissatisfied. This was a sad attempt at chicken Thai fried rice, completely tasteless, just the rice and chunks of pale chicken, no scallions no egg, no flavor. I've done better at home. I had to add my own condiments to make it passable. Not sure what happened to this place.

First time trying Thailand food and I enjoyed the Land Combination Thai Fried Rice.
This restaurant has the best customer service. The waiter was gentle and responsable with my order. He took the enough time to explain every single Thailand dish since this was my first time tasting Thailand food. Great service !!!

Authentic Thai restaurant in Union City. Very good ambience, neat and clean. We have tried their Pad Thai, Soups, Basil Fried Rice, Tilapia fish. All are very good.

It is insane how can Thai food taste this bad???? Are those fake reviews??? How can you mess up pad Thai??? Did you soak it sugar syrup?? It’s just sad food. Thai food does not taste like this! I had a taste for thai food. The reviews here were decent so I decided to give them a try. I waited an hour for an entree and 3 appetizers. When I reached home and tasted the rice, it was hard and undercooked. The curry puffs tasted more like empanadas than authentic Thai curry puffs. I definitely wouldn't come back. The only positive, was Carlos, the Host. He was extremely apologetic. However, I still would not buy food from here.

I ordered Green Thai Curry from this place with huge expectations but it turned out to be just sugary coconut milk. Worst Thai curry I ever had in my life. I love Thai curry and always get excited to eat it like hungry kid but this place ruined my experience. I hardly write any negative review but this turned out to be such huge disappointment that I could not control myself.

There are lot of other places around please choose them and not this place.

Great food, and really friendly Service

The food was so good! I’ve been to Bangkok and Phuket, plenty of times and this place really captures the authentic art of Thai cuisine. Will definitely be returning to try more of what’s on their menu!

The chef is not Thai or even Asian, not sure they know how to prepare Thai food or even have the authentic ingredients.

Hands down the best Thai food in the area. They also have the tradition Thai basil chicken that I like. Most places don’t or say they do but the minced chicken is always the missing piece. Not here though. I absolutely love this place. I order take out from downtown jersey city because all the places in the area are just okay. Nothing truly compares. I recommend the Drunken noodles, red curry, Thai basil chicken (traditional or normal, depending what you like). Also beware. Medium spicy has a kick - so if you can’t take the heat maybe start off with mild first

This is the best place around for Thai food. They are also very nice people. I highly recommend you try the place. Also, call them direct. Don’t use those services, it eats into their business. They do have a delivery person.

This restaurant truly deserves the name 5 Stars Thai. Both when eating in and taking out, the staff is impeccable. Pad Thai was tasteless. No bean sprout or peanuts in it. Noodle were all bits and pieces and dry. Chicken wings were 5 small pieces, not worth the price. Won’t be getting anything from them again.

Little good neighborhood find with BYOB

Ordered take out from 5 Star Thai after seeing the great reviews and wanting to try a different thai restaurant in the area. Unfortunately, the food was shockingly bad. I try to avoid writing negative reviews, but it’s worthwhile for people to know and I really hope the restaurant will take this feedback and improve. We need a great Thai option in the area.

Here’s what we go:

- Steamed Chicken Dumpling: very dense, lacked flavor, tasted like a steamed chicken nugget, if the chicken in the chicken nugget was dense.

- Tom Kha Gai- This was maybe the best item. Still not the best Tom Kha Gai I’ve had, and far from it, but totally fine.

- Duck - very unevenly cooked. Parts were tasty and parts were so over cooked it was inedible.

- Pad Thai with Chicken - chicken was very dry. Pad Thai was the worst I’ve ever had. Lacked the depth of flavor that a pad Thai should have. It was really just noodle! It was missing all the ingredients of a proper pad Thai.

- Mango sticky rice - This is one of my Favorite desserts, so let’s say I’ve had lots of Mango Sticky Rice. 5-star Thai’s version was a gelatinous mess. Rice was gloopy. Mango lacked flavor, but can’t blame the restaurant for that. Next time will need to order when mango is in season.

Overall, giving the place 2 stars instead of 1 because the majority of the food was at least edible.

No taste, the sticky rice is super small. Not worth the money. If you want a real Thai taste then don’t go to this restaurant. Tasteless food. Pictures look very delicious but tasteless. Disappointed.

New owners; dining, ambiance and service are all better than before. You can dine inside or outside. There's even a large Buddha in the corner eheancing the ambiance. The curry dishes were very tasty. The pad see was also very good.
