Authentic Thai cuisine
I had to change my previous review due to the lack of professionalism here. I came into the restaurant this evening and ordered the green curry only to be told they don’t have it yet again! Shortly after, the lady said the kitchen will make it for me and I asked was it too much trouble she said no. I literally was the only customer in there at that time when my order was placed. Shortly after two couples came in 10 mins apart from each other which they ordered and got their food before me, how is that possible???? I pulled the lady aside and mentioned the above asking her where is my food, she replied I’ll ask the kitchen, I told her don’t bother cancel it! I’m extremely disappointed as I come here 2x a week and now to be treated like this is UNACCEPTABLE!!!! Clearly I won’t return!
Good and tasty Thai food. I had the Chicken Pad Thai and was real satisfied. I have to admit it was my first Thai meal so I can't say how lines up with other Thai restaurants. While I ate in there was a steady stream of takeouts. It's kind of a small place with BYOB and seating for approximately 30 in a mix of 10 booths and tables. Service was good. The only negative is I thought the prices were a little bit high. (compared to most Chinese restaurants.) Limited angle parking out front in the little strip mall. It's just a block down from the Shoprite.
A secret location for some of the best Thai food in the area. My favorite. Always delicious. Sad they don't make the spicy potato chips anymore.
This place closes for their own lunch break between 3pm to 4:30pm every day. But why not post it on their website or on the entrance door that they don’t accept patrons after 2pm. I had to waste my lunch time driving to this place 3 times, just to get kicked out. They only accept pick up orders from 2pm to 3pm. I know they have had other hungry patrons walking in, just to be told that they are closed. That’s time wasted to commute there for lunch….. They just lost a loyal customer today. 🤷🏻

More place for lunchtime food and take away, as the environment is small. Good a quick dinner also.

Pick and choose when to do dine in

Very disappointed to be told by the server that every dish on the menu except salad had fish sauce. We had vegetarian folks with us and can’t believe that in this day and age, they cannot prep some curry/sauce without fish sauce
It's like the Tardis, it's bigger on the inside!
So far this place has my pick for BEST of NJ Thai food. Looks like a hole in the wall, but the food is tasty. BYOD, Shared parking lot (small) after 5 years, still my pick for the best Thai in the Bergen area.
DD Thai is hands down the best Thai restaurant in Bergen. I've tried several others, but none compare to DD Thai. With fresh and tasty food, including vegetarian options, it's truly a hidden gem in Bergen.
Authentic Thai
The food is freaking delicious
Food gave me food poisoning yesterday
I loved the Tom yum soup. A great price and a good menu too. The cashier desk is inward of the restaurant which is a little weird but otherwise a great place.
Mediocre at best. Ordered a lunch special and the portions are so small I thought they must have forgotten part of the meal when I unpacked it. Food was extremely salty. Not worth $11
Best pad see ew nearby.
Got to the restaurant at 1:50pm. They said carry out only. They close at 3pm for lunch, but owner would not let us seat and have lunch. Very poor customer service. I don't think they care about their business.
I personally like their food
Great place! Love coming here for the lunch special. Food is very tasty and they make the food properly spicy if you ask. Very flavorful
I like going here for the pad Thai with shrimp.
Very good food and service.
Literally my favorite restaurant. I've brought tons of ppl. Everyone is always more than pleased with the meal and the experience. I would give more stars if it were possible
I love their food but, their portions can be better.
Good taste . Love noodles
The food is why too salty and sweet. The Tom yam soup is just soup and does not have the Tom yam taste
The drunken noodles are so freaking good!! My friend demanded i bring her this dish after we tried it last week. I will likely get thrown out after she eats, but such is life! This place feels like they should be in Manhattan.
The Thai food here is just delish!
Excellent food
Their chicken wings where off the hook. And that's with no sauce. Just plain fried chicken wings. Will definitely come back for the wings again. The sauce was a bonus
Girls like mud sandwich 🥪🥪🥪🥪🥪🥪🥪
I ordered Spicy Drunken Noodles. They had no flavor at all. The worst I've ever had in NJ.
I've done dine in and take out at this location and I can honestly say they do not disappoint! I always get their Pineapple Fried rice with Chicken and can say it's the best I've had compared to other locations. Their Spring rolls and Coconut fried shrimp is very good. My BF always orders their Drunken Noodles and says they make it the best!
I have tried this place twice, once dine and today take out. This is now my go to place for Thai food. Their drunken noodle is cooked to perfection. My Gf loves the pineapple fried rice with chicken.
Mango salad was outta this world
First time visiting this restaurant. Salad? Garbage. Drunken noodles with shrimp? One of the best when it comes to flavor, spice etc. Noodles seemed to be chopped up instead of being kept whole. Not too much options esp when it comes to thai food. What I didn’t like was the shrimp on the noodle , it had no taste. Sure it was farmed raise but it had zero taste , smell, it was very much plastic. If you know your stuff, you would know what I am talking about. I cook a lot and eat out a lot. Am I coming back , maybe !
The food was very good and nice and hot. I would have liked the Pad Thai a little bit more spicy. But I'll know for next time.
Decent place, good food
Every single thing on the menu tastes great. I'm not even kidding. Some of the best calamari I've ever had in my life! Try the coconut soup! So lovely!
My favorite place for lunch. So authentic and yummy as always. Drunken noodles with chicken is the best !!
Delicious green curry, love the papaya salad!
Have been to this place many times, taste is not consistent. Service is ok.
My go-tos are always the thai ice tea (OH yeah!!!), curry puffs, and pad see ew. Can't ever order 1 without the others! Food is consistently good and I always look forward to coming back for more!
My husband and I have eaten here many times and love it!!! Especially the Tom Kha Guy Soup! We could bathe in it, its' so good!
We ordered take out food for 5-6 people and the food was delicious. Portion was good and the lady on the phone was very friendly as well.
Best Thai food around and the Thai iced tea excellent 😋
Great place for Thai fusion dishes. Love the steamed dumplings. Staff very friendly.Only problem I see is they are not open late enough.
Best Thai food I've ever had. My go to place for Thai.
The food was very good and tasty. The tom yum soup is just the right degree of spicy. The calamari with sweet chilli sauce is a good appetizer. The duck tamarind is crispy. The noodles were done well. My only complaint is that they didn't have a salad and the pork chop I wanted to try, but hopefully they will the next time I go. I will definently be ordering again.
We love the Thai food here! The food is tasty, good portions, friendly service and hospitality. We were even able to dine inside without anyone else there and it was clean, safe and enjoyable. We have ordered take out from here a few times and will definitely return!
I used to order from this spot weekly at work (sometimes even more). Their green curry with tofu is hands down the best green curry I have had at a Thai restaurant. When I happen to dine at other Thai restaurants I want them to make their dish just like DD Thai does, with zucchini, bamboo shoots & red peppers. It's a dish that I crave from them. Their curry puffs are also very tasty. Delicious food at an affordable cost. I no longer work close-by here so I haven't had it with the regularity that I used to, but I would go out of my way to eat here again.
I saw the reviews on here and I decided to give this place a try. I ordered curry puffs, a coconut soup with chicken, green curry, and drunken noodles. The only things that tasted ok were the curry puffs. Everything else lacked flavor and the drunken noodles literally made me sick to my stomach. They smelled weird from the start, and they tasted even worse. You could taste the grease or oil on them. I couldn't finish the meal. What's even worse is that it made my stomach upset and I've been in the bathroom all day since.
I'm a big fan of Thai cuisine but because of this experience I've vowed never to have Thai food again.
I wish I could give this place zero stars. If you have any regard for your health and taste, please avoid DD Thai Cuisine at all costs.
Check out my other reviews, I have never given a bad review like this one.
There are several local Thai spots and some a very popular. The food here outshines the rest. Food is not greasy, spring rolls are crisp, even for takeout. Do yourself a favor and try it out!
Since Spice Thai in Bloomfield closed have not found a thai spot we could enjoy. .... Until we stumbled upon this spot!
I like the food. Little springs rolls are delicious.
Potion size a dish is way too small. It's not worth the price at all. Food is good though.
We love DD Thai. Flavor is real and it’s delicious
If you're in the mood for Thai, please don't get it from a Chinese restaurant that also does Thai, or an asian buffet that offers Thai, or a fusion place that serves Thai. If you want Thai food, go to DD Thai. The flavors really are incomparable — far more delicate and well balanced than other restaurants I've been to in the area. Can't go wrong with a class pad thai order or pineapple fried rice with a thai iced tea.
First time ordering food pad Thai shimp it excellent but the puff are plan. ,Thank you
Been frequenting this place for over 7 years. I’ve gotten take out for the most part and it’s consistent.
The thai shrimp fried rice was good but I don't think it was worth the price I paid for it.
Amazing food!! Been going there for years!!
They have amazing food!!!! Had veg drunken noodles and a veg Thai basil dish on Friday! For a take out! It was very good!!! Authentic Thai food!!! Will definitely come back again!!
Pretty good food. Lunch specials are great. More of a take out spot feel
Great service; terrific food
Cashew chicken yum
I love eating here! Probably one of my favorite drunken noodle spots around. The lunch special is great and the service is always amazing. They make you feel at home (especially if you go here a lot like I do lol) would recommend 100%.
This places is wonderful! I go for lunch because it is near my job. The lunch special comes with a salad and spring rolls. Try the Thai ice tea!
Our waitress from Thailand was such a sweet lady. Had a very decent meal here. Definitely coming back soon!
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS RESTAURANT.
They are theives. Placed and order tonight at 7:30pm to be sent a message the order will be delayed. THEN the driver marks the order delivered but when calling grubhub the agent says the driver admitted there wasn't an order to be delivered because it was now past restaurant closing time. So now over two hours later I have NO dinner and grubhub and this restaurant could care less. All I get is a sorry and a refund.
Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
hole in the wall type of place. good food each time i visit!!
Delicious and authentic. My new favorite Thai spot!
The food here is fantastic, however if you are ordering for delivery your experience will be varied depending on who picks up the phone. Sometimes they deliver, sometimes they don't. Sometimes the minimum is $20 sometimes it's $30. I would highly recommend this place only when you pick up. As of the time of this writing they don't use any delivery services like DoorDash or others.
Great place whenever we come to see family upstate a mist stop food was good, a great experience every time.
Food was very good, atmosphere and staff was very friendly. First time here and will be going back.
Great taste, good heat, affordable lunch specials, and they deliver.
Strong eggy smell overpowers a couple of lunch dishes I tried.
Good food.
Food is just OK
Some of the best thai food i’ve had. Plus the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream was amazing
Food is ok. Was there tonight, one entree was loaded with cornstarch ( snapper with garlic sauce), only 6 shrimps in thai basil, very small portion of papaya salad. Service was super slow with three customers. Left the place still hungry. Going back to my happy place in Clifton
Food here is great!
Good find....we ordered a big variety of appetizers and mains and everything was great. Don’t judge this place by its decor. Food is really good quality.
I go there for lunch, food is delicious, favorite dish is the Beef Drunken Noodle w/a side of hot sauce & comes with a small salad & the dressing is tasty. I've had their rice dishes & are delicious also. Service is excellent & the food comes out quick.
I make it there at least once a week.
I've even brought coworkers & they've enjoyed their meals.
I compare other Thai restaurants to this local gem. Great food, friendly service.
I try this place randomly. My google app suggest this place for “PAD THAI” And I loved their food. I highly recommend this place. Must go their and try.
Food is tasty but quantity is less as per price.
I love ordering and getting the green curry with chicken...
One of the best Thai restaurant around Bergen area.
Consistently delicious. Some of the best Thai food in Bergen county.
Delicious Authentic Food! Everything tasted so fresh and yummy!
Couldn't get a reservation. Got a take out. Very good food yet a bit pricy for the portion size.
The restaurant is small and is located on a small strip mall. We had the appetizer samplers, the chicken satary was a little over done, the spring rolls and the puffs were taste.
I had the DD seafood, it contains shrimps, mussels, and squids, delicious spicy sauce. My family ordered the grilled pork chops and the basil seafood dish. Everything was delicious.
Good good good!
Good food service was poor
Yum! Was really great food!
Best thai restaurant in town
It's great little place. Quality food at a very reasonable price. The fact that it's in a strip mall probably doesn't make it an ideal place to take a date but it's a perfect spot for casual dining with family and friends. Its byob but don't worry if you forget because there's a liquor store located within the same strip mall
Not so pretty to look at from the outside and looks okay inside. The food is delicious tho. Definitely recommend trying their Thai Iced Tea. They let you pick your spice level on a scale of 1 to 5.
Much better than other Asian places in the area. They will do very large deliveries which can work out well if you are serving Thai for a get together at home.
Not bad for Asian taste.
Good food but lack in sevice
Best tai place around
My favorite thai food place of all time. Reasonably priced. Always delicious. I haven't had 1 thing on the menu I haven't liked yet. Always great and fast service. I eat here once a week, sometimes more!
Have been here about 4 times. Easily one of the better Thai food places around (another good one is Sapphire Thai on Cedar Lane in Teaneck). DD Thai is in a little strip mall, right before the Shoprite. The inside is small and cozy. Food is well prepared and tasty - I've had many Thai meals at many places and the food here is definitely above average. They are very accommodating should you need to make any special requests. I usually get the drunken noodles at a "2" or "3" spice level, and they have a good kick but are not too hot. Some of the better dishes here are the Tom Kha Gai soup, the Fresh Ginger and Cashew Nut entrees, and the Red and Green curries. Average or disappointing are the Original Tamarind Duck (hardly any tamarind sauce, not much flavor), the Massaman curry (bland, hardly any vegetables), and the Pumpkin Custard (portion is small). Aside from those, hard to go wrong here. Highly recommended.
The drunken noodles here are FIRE, and I use that word to mean both delicious and spicy. I don't think they make them spicy unless you ask because we ordered one without asking for spicy level and it was pretty mild. For mine, I asked them to make it medium spicy and their medium is probably beyond the "spicy" or "very spicy" level at other restaurants so tread carefully. I definitely recommend getting it with shrimp; they surprisingly put a decent amount of shrimp and it was the great quality ones, not the teeny tiny ones you'd get elsewhere.
Like it a lot.
Best Thai food we have found. We ride almost an hour to eat in or pick up food.
Good food. Small but nice. Staff was ok.
The food was fresh and delicious. The service was pleasant. Looking forward to my next visit.
Great food. The duck,is excellent
Best curry! Love the peanut in it and the coconut favor
Great food. Nice little seating area. Cool fish tank!
Food is decent but very small portion
The best Thai food in the area hands down. Tried at least 5 different ones and 99% didn’t even know what “drunken noodle” is ... This place, unlike others, has quality over quantity to it. In other places you order Pad Thai with enough tasteless and extremely spicy noodles to feed a family yet with a tiny and lost piece of chicken. Try this place, I highly recommend.
The Red Curry Fried Rice is delicious!
Me and wifey went here for lunch on a weekday as we were in the area and wanted to have thai food. We ordered the lunch special which is an entree from the special menu and comes with a small salad and veg spring roll. I had chicken red curry and my wife ordered chicken drunken noodles. The drunken noodles were delicious, red curry was okay. I felt that the vegetables in red curry were little undercooked. Overall I believe a good value for money, with tips it came to $20 for the two of us. This is a good take out option as the restaurant itself is pretty small, seats are not that comfortable and there is not ample parking available.
Great food, good prices.
I went here for the lunch special which runs till 3:30pm . Got the red curry with shrimp and white rice. You can get the hot level form 1-5. I got 3 and found it just right. The special comes with a small salad, a tiny spring roll, and 4 shrimps all for $9.00. The salad is dressed with a sweet thai peanut sauce. This was my first time here and would like to come again and try other items off the menu.
