I recently ordered dinner from Kawa Thai And Sushi. It was my first time ordering from them I was hesitant at first because I am big food critic. I love a good tasting meal. I had the American dream roll and basil chicken/ rice. The sushi was fresh and beautifully prepared, with just the right balance of flavors, I love spicy food so I asked for spicy mayo to be added to mine.The basil chicken was absolutely delicious—tender chicken and vegetables cooked to perfection, and the basil sauce had the perfect level of spice and the basil was fresh!!! The combination of flavors was spot on, and the meal left me craving more. Highly recommend this spot if you're in the mood for delicious Thai food! I will be ordering again soon, if it’s always like this you will have a long lasting customer.

Newly renovated and it seems to throw a nice and calm ambiance. Love the Japanese salad which was served cold and crunchy. Miso was perfectly warm. Penang dish was delicious. Sushi special was fresh! We will come back.

Freshest sushi you'll ever have. I have been ordering from here since they opened. They are awesome. They even know my order. 10 stars if I could give. Also any concern for Bubs the fish is not needed. I say hi to him every time I'm there and he is super happy. He's been there almost 10 years. Pretty long for a fish in a sushi restaurant lol

We got to sit at this really cool japanese tatami table and it was the first time i got to do this. We ordered sushi and more! This place is very cool and delicious. I recommend this place to family and friends.

The sushi from this restaurant is some of the best sushi around and the atmosphere itself is decent but if you’re looking for good service than look somewhere else bc the servers here are very ignorant and forgetful. I had to ask for something multiple times bc my server just didn’t care to get it for me. So I recommend if you’re gonna order from here, order take out.

The Kawa roll is particularly excellent. The General Tsos chicken is also a fine choice. Staff are always friendly and the food is good to excellent depending on the dish.

I've been coming here for about 20 years (pretty much when they opened). I've been here with just my wife and 25+ people - an annual tradition. The last three times (about once a month - written 3/28/23) I've noticed that all the female servers were gone - pretty strange. Also, during those three times we've had the same server and he is one of the worst I've ever had. Wants to take your order from across the room while he's turned away toward the kitchen, never checks in to see if you need anything. Actually, if he's waiting on another table instead of taking a quick look to see if everyone's OK he just turns and runs off. Today he really got my underwear in a twist when I had to go to get plates myself. There were three of us sharing sushi. One platter of sushi and no plates for anyone. It got worse from there. I'll spare you the details but it's the first time in my memory that I left no tip. I won't be back for a LONG time. On the bright side, the food is always very good and a good value. I can cook better and for less money so when I go out I just want to have a relaxing and pleasant dining experience. If you do too - find somewhere else to go.

Terrible food and terrible service. The sushi had a foul smell and taste. It seriously smelled like urine, and the server was not surprised or even seem to care when we complained about this. Will not be going back to this place, and I’d tell others to do the same

Nothing has changed except the prices and the amount of food you get. Prices went way up and the amount of food you get went down. Which is just the way it is everywhere anymore. Food and service is still good.

I used to come here for years always loved it, after covid the quality was so disappointing. The rolls that used to be 6pieces are now 4. They’re extremely small and very bland and low quality seafood.
The fish tank is disgusting when you come in, the place looks like a storage unit not where you would feel comfortable sitting for a meal. I order when I’m on my lunch, and keep forgetting chopsticks. I gave it so many chances, because I used to really love getting sushi and thai food here. I will no longer be going here, because I’m always disappointed.

Sushi is extremely tasty however the atmosphere in the restaurant is very tacky and gloomy. I would take out the food and enjoy it home rather than dine in.

Thai peasants rice has gotten bland and definitely less colorful. (supply issues with red onion and thai basil?) Part of the dining room is also now being used as a storage room. Bit of a sad sight to see.

Best sushi around, I’ve eaten here dozens of time and always come back for more.

I called and placed an order for $50 worth of food. I was not given a price or time on when it would be ready. The lady on the phone barely said a word. I gave them about 25 minutes before walking into the store. When I walked in, there was no record of my order ever being placed. I placed my order AGAIN, and received no apology or anything complimentary. ON TOP OF IT, THEY DIDNT EVEN GET THE ORDER RIGHT!!! Very poor customer service to not even have common courtesy to apologize. Very poor communication skills. Will not be going back.

What happened? It had been a while since I was at Kawa, and I can now say it will be a long time...if ever...I go back. What used to be a classy place to go in Millville (of all places) has succumb to the surrounding area. By that I mean, it's no longer classy, it no longer has a nice atmosphere and if the service was ever good, it's not now. The front of the restaurant has become their storage place for boxes, bags and restaurant supplies. The half-filled fish tank in the waiting area looks sad. It does not appear clean, either. We had some questions when placing our order and the waitress couldn't be bothered. In fact, we got the vibe that she didn't like her job, waiting on us or life in general for that matter. I got that "old chicken" taste with my Thai basil chicken dish that was very gross. I'm going to skip this has-been place from now on.

No staff tonight!! Me and my husband ordered sushi to pick up. And we waited 30 mins before leaving. There was people crowded in the the waiting area where there was supposed to be staff. Another couple was complaining of waiting for an hour to pick up their order. Staff was running around. Seemed short staffed. But if you guys are that short staffed that you can’t help customers, then close until you have people to run the place!! Also when I order something on your website and you have no staff, please put a realistic time for pickup! Horrible experience!

Kawa is the best! Everything is always great and fresh. I come here all the time and highly recommend Kawa.

I just had my second visit here. Disappointed with the meal. It wasn't good the first time but decided to give it another go. The food tastes like everything is cooked separately and then thrown together for whatever order. The chicken was slimy, best way to describe it, and nothing had any flavor to it. The sauce was good but because it wasn't prepared with other ingredients, everything was bland. Sorry but I won't go back again. Thai corner on Wheat Rd in Vineland has some pretty darn good Thai. Too bad they were closed tonight.

1st time. Small portions. We had the boat. Fish ok just small cuts and boat looked light. Service was real bad. 2 girls had a very bad attitude. Real bad. I can understand it was slow because of how busy but to have a bad attitude was uncalled for. Eye rolling... slamming hand down when we wanted to add an extra roll. We still be waiting for soy sauce. Just very bad service.

Staff is always lovely and the decorations are simple yet nice. You can see the fish in the aquarium sadly they won't be there long but it's nice to admire them. Their covid-19 precautions are very simple everybody wears masks until they sit down to eat. the employees are always wearing masks. Sanitation after everyone leaves their table. Still pretty crowded on most days though not going to lie but the ambience at night makes it great to visit. Their noodles are just decent I like the ones with the spice on them but the lo mein is not really anything special. Their cooked Sushi is good I can't rate the raw sushi because I don't eat that.

HORRIBLE is an UNDERSTATEMENT! This place used to be great, However we ordered from there today, what a mistake. The service was extremely poor. Slow and rude to say the least. After not receiving all the items in the order, and them over charging me, i was hung up on and told to call tomorrow. Ill be calling the bank to get my money refunded. DO NOT EAT HERE. Waste of money!

I only eat vegetarian Sushi. Sweet potato, cucumber rolls, avacado 🍥 and it is good here. I don't eat seafood because I don't like it. I do order the beef lettuce wraps from here & very yummy and thoughtfully prepared. The eyes see the food first and the food here is like art. Every little detail adds to the visual taste of the food. Very enjoyable. Good quality and fair price.

I love the sushi here but everytime we get it delivered, we wait over an hour and then have to call in, and when they answer they almost seem like they forgot it was sitting there and then send someone out with our food. We then have to wait another 20 minutes to eat and it's always cold.

Service and food prep are EXTREMELY slow. My son's pad see ew was delicious and flavorful, but my so-called Bangkok Pork was TERRIBLE. Not spicy at all, had a very sweet-sour taste, came on a bed of lettuce (!), and was sickeningly coated with cornstarch. Had chunks of bell peppers. It almost seemed like an anglicized version of sweet and sour pork, not authentically Thai in any form, shape, or flavor. My husband's Tom yum ka was decent. So we'll average it out and say three stars.

However, although I was extremely polite about not liking my food, I was given dirty looks after I said that I did not want my dish and did not want a replacement. The server didn't even respond right away, just walked away to confer with her colleagues and didn't come back until I asked for the check. Even when I left and I called out thank you to the waitstaff, the response was arms folded across chests and the barest of nods, cementing my poor opinion of the place and dropping my review another star.

We've been here before, but I have a memory like a goldfish at times! So every time we come, I seem to remember feeling disappointed. I'm leaving this review so I won't forget next time I come back to Millville, as I do not intend to return to Kawa.

They don't offer the lunch menu on Sunday. No complimentary food is offered except those dry noodles. How much would it cost to offer a little noodle soup or a sherbet after the meal. This is the way most Japanese restaurants work to keep their guests coming back. Cheap!

This was the first time I had tried Kawa Thai and Sushi. I stuck with the Thai part for this visit. The Pad Thai Pork was delicious. I enjoyed the seaweed salad, however I was surprised the see a layer of iceberg lettuce in there (probably decorative). It was a great to-go dinner.

So let me start with saying I've eaten kawa quite a bit in the past and really enjoyed it, but I haven't been in about a year. This visit was pretty bad, it started with warm water that had 1 piece if ice in it, followed by the fact that she never brought our soup and salad out, then after finishing our wonton appetizer the server brought out my meal, didnt bring my girlfriends sushi or mine, then finally brought her meal and both our orders of sushi when I was about done my meal.

Never a wait at this place. The staff a fast and friendly. The food is always served fast and prepared properly. Very extensive menu.
