NOW OPEN! - Pru Thai, the neighborhood gem that has delighted diners with authentic Thai cuisine for two decades, proudly celebrates its 20th anniversary with the exciting launch of a new location in Lambertville, New Jersey this Fall! Owned by the husband-and-wife team of Korn and Chayanee Wongsarochana, Pru Thai has been a staple of the Clinton community since opening in 2004. The expansion to a third location in the antiquing capital of the Garden State marks another milestone in Pru Thai's trailblazing success.
First time to Pru Thai this past Friday. It was very busy and they don't take reservations. But you can put your name on the list, with your phone number, and they'll call you when a table is available. This way you can go next door or across the street and have a glass of wine while you wait. We got there at 6:30 and got lucky with seating - a table for two opened up within 5 minutes. The place was hopping, good atmosphere, people chatting, table next to us happy to share the name of the dishes they had just been served. We had the appetizer sampler platter, very good, the beef salad, excellent and a good portion (likely dinner for some), the calamari salad, also excellent, then our mains - Green Curry Shrimp and the Pad Thai with Veggies & Tofu. The flavor of both was right on par with the excellent appetizers. Portion size also very good, especially for the price. For me, if I'm being picky, the green curry broth could have been a little thicker, but again, the flavor was spot on so an excellent dish. Our waitress was very nice, cordial, smiling, friendly, and efficient. The entire wait staff checked on everyone, a good team effort. Only negative of the evening was that the entrees came out a bit too fast and we were still working on the appetizers. But again, the place was busy and they were moving a lot of food so I'll assume it was a one off. Pru Thai is BYOB. Recommended? Definitely - Go here for great Thai food!
We went 4 people on Wednesday night and was packed. We order Pru Thai Combo its good for two people. And we also had calamari...not too impressed the way they do the calamari. Duck was very tasty and the fried fish. I tried from my friend's dish she had the Wok baked shrimp with glass noodles amazing broth and noodles. I will definitely go to try other dishes. Amazing place and good prices i recommend it!
The food was A+ Amazing, flavorful, delicious. I am excited to go back.
Do not sit by the door in winter months. Don't do it. It's not great. You'll spend the entire time either shutting it, wishing it was shut, or glaring at people who keep it open too long. We've eaten here twice and the door was very annoying both times.
The spice level was 1-3, but I wish it was 1-5. We both got 3's, and it was delicious, but not "Thai Hot". BYOB, which is great to save a bit. The servers were great. I'm looking forward to going again.
Food was acceptable but far from what it could be. I had the drunken noodles, which, when I'd had in the SF Bay Area, was rich and savory. I don't know if it was speed in order to get the food out quickly, but the meat wasn't browned enough to bring out the rich flavor that is certainly part of the dish's popularity. The papaya salad was similarly low flavor. Dried chilis and hot sauce was available and that made things a bit better. I didn't get a curry as I saw curry delivered to another table and it seemed to be from paste and I can make that at home. Cute Lambertville building, nice service, but I eat Thai for the food.

Love the food! Its great having a solid Thai restaurant in town!
Good tasty food every time.
Tried new location twice & Pennington twice. Take-out
Please understand we love Thai food and were so excited for the opening of a Thai restaurant in Lambertville. We are told upfront that we have a 60 minute wait. We are good with this and go for cocktails. 50 minutes later our table is ready and we are good to go!
Well not so fast. Ordered our food and 45 minutes later, watching the tables that arrived after us get their food, multiple inquires as to where our appetizer was (and having the staff look at you and just walk away) , and then more promises that our food would be right out..we walked out.
Problem is never to return..

The food is amazing!!! Highly recommend the Kanom Jee (fried chicken dumplings) , Midnight duck and the Drunken Man Noodles!
I’m a very picky eater and I honestly have loved everything I’ve tried from here. Today was my second time going and the pad Thai is very good and so is the Thai iced tea. The staff is super friendly and grateful. Will definitely be coming back
Beautiful new location! They did a great job with a small space. The food is incredible, everything is so fresh and the portions . Lunch specials are the best deal in town!
I've been dying for them to open and they did not disappoint! The food was excellent service friendly and they did the Place really cute.
The food was good but we were given lunch menus and charged dinner prices instead of the lunch prices we had seen. We mentioned this to the waitress and she said she assumed we wanted dinner portions because some of us ordered soups that weren’t included in the lunch menu. She shouldn’t have assumed without asking us as it was our first time and their first lunch service since they opened. They did not make it right and only gave us a minor discount which didn’t make up for the large price differences from lunch to dinner. Disappointed that it seemed to be an inconvenience for them when it was the servers fault to begin with.
