I give this place 5 stars for a few reasons. One reason being that the food was absolutely great. I had the pineapple fried rice and Thai ribs. I thought both were great and I was able to take some home and reheat it, and it still came out delicious. I dined in alone for lunch and the host was extremely knowledgeable. He informed me what was expensive and what I could order to save a buck while still receiving the same amount of food. I thought that was great. The furniture and interior decoration was awesome making it the perfect place for a family night or a lunch or dinner date. I’d recommend for everyone.

WOW just WOW. The flavor here is amazing. My husband and I are vegan and were are obsessed with this restaurant now. When my inlaws come visit, we either go here or order take out.

I never usually write bad reviews. If the restaurant is bad we just don't return. I was in the restaurant business for many years and I understand the difficulties in running one. That being said last night the food was great, we had a large party. We loved the ambiance and were recommended by regular customers. The staff waitpersons were also fabulous, attentive and helpful. We really loved it, until...after we finished our appetizers and main courses had been finished, we were eating the desserts.
That is when the busboy decided he would put a large black bus bucket directly on our table with other peoples dirty dishes in it and start clearing out table while we were eating these desserts. I've never seen that happen before and it was so tacky and rude that I had to say something here because it felt like he was trying to get rid of us even though there were other diners still there. This actually ruined my personal experience despite all of the positive things I mentioned. In my very extensive I've in the restaurant business I have trained waiters, bus persons, kitchen staff and managers. When something was really bad in my restaurant I wanted to know about it so it could be corrected.
Unless putting 1/2 full bus box's on guests tables while they are still eating is now an acceptable practice, I'm the dummy. If it's still considered rude and classless, Management should perhaps make that a hard no-no. However, I will return since everything else was wonderful and I hope this doesn't happen again. Thank You for a great meal otherwise.

Great experience, the food is really delicious, the service and atmosphere quite pleasant.

Make sure to get there early. Apparently, even though the closing time is 9.00 pm, their Kitchen is closing at 8.40 pm. One of the receptionist was eating nuts while the other one was on the phone despite we wait there. Bad manners. Glad we didn’t waste our money on a place like that.

My family and I have been here plenty of times. Nestled in the heart of Kinnelon, is this Thai gem has undoubtedly stolen my heart and my taste buds. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I knew I was in for a treat.

I used to rave about this place, but we went last night and I was underwhelmed. The combo platter appetizer with 4 different sauces used to be a burst of flavors. Last night they tasted almost watered down. The chicken satay pieces, while large, were not quality pieces and didn’t have much flavor. My pad see ew was a much smaller portion than it used to be. My husband enjoyed the duck. It was plentiful but he too felt that a place that used to be amazing was just okay. Hoping it was just a fluke. It was packed in there ! So maybe it was just a really busy night or a substitute chef. Now I’m on the hunt for exceptional Thai again !

This is a very cute restaurant with good food and nice atmosphere. HOWEVER. I refuse to have the gratuity included on the bill. I really don't mind paying it but it should be voluntary and not set.
That's more and more common practice nowadays and we as customers should really oppose it.

I ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice but did not read on the menu that it was with curry powder. The waiter came over and asked if there was a problem with my meal and if I would like something else. I refused not wanting to try anything different and he took away my plate. I was charged. The manager was called over and I asked her why would I be charged for something I did not eat. Her response was "You should have read the menu and if I did not charge for every time someone did not like something I would lose business." I was shocked by her response. How many customers complain? I was not rude to her as she was to me. If you strive to have satisfied customers, you should start in your place of business. I am not upset over the food and I take responsibility for what I ordered but not for that way she spoke to me. No one needs that. Note: My five star experience should have been on my first visit especially since I spoke with management.

I get take out from here all the time. Place is consistent and clean. Their curries are their best dishes in my opinion.

Delicious food and amazing service ! We started w a few appetizers and I couldn’t pick a favorite. The honey soy ribs, coconut shrimp and seafood appetizer were all fantastic ! We were a party of 8 and all got something different and everyone was impressed with their meal. It’s byob so it was very reasonable. We will definitely be back ! If you’re in the area give them a try, awesome little hidden gem 👍 😋

I usually always order the ginger soup from house of Thai whenever I’m sick or I’m feeling sore throat coming on. Today was that day and I ordered crab ragoons tropical shrimp with jasmine rice and the ginger soup large size. I first want to say first the delivery was very quick. I was not expecting it to be that quick after they told me an hour, but the first thing I noticed was the jasmine rice that comes with the tropical shrimp. It was in a small separate container that wasn’t even half full of rice, for $18 I should definitely be getting more rice with the shrimp, or at least fill the small container also only had three pieces of shrimp with my tropical I’m shrimp entrée and again the container holding the tropical shrimp Entrée was not full .despite the entree being good I was disappointed about containers being only half full. And for the LARGE GINGER SOUP I had the same problem with the container holding the GINGER soup, it wasn’t full. They basically put the small soup in a large container. There also wasn’t any ginger or mushrooms in the soup despite being short on the broth. This caused the taste to be different and unfortunately the soup just tasted like salty onion water with no ginger flavor. They usually do an amazing job with the soup but I guess it was a bad day for the kitchen. My neighbor also ordered just before me and he said he had the same problem. With the soup and containers it being filled or shorted. Were the best thing out of my order that I was able to eat without a problem . I know it was probably just an off day but I ended up spending $50 for myself and I feel the value in quality wasn’t there today.

Every dish ordered, and I mean EVERY dish, was disgustingly sweet. I've had Thai food all over the state and know that Thai is usually lightly sweet. I'm talking about face puckering literally tasting granulated sugar sweet. Felt like I needed to run a 5k to stave off a diabetic coma. Will not be coming back.

Very poor service.

We went to dine in yesterday (Thanksgiving weekend). The food was good but the service was really horrible.
We were there with our family and was treated very bad. The server only came to ask for the order and didn't come back after they serve the food.
We felt other customer (white) were asked multiple time if they need anything but our table were unattended. Our family felt discriminated.
If you are non white expect to be treated unfairly till there staff/server is retrained or replaced.
Giving 1 star because of the service.

Not very impressive. I was here once a couple years ago and it was a little better. Service was OK, although not all apps came out at the same time, and I specifically asked for my food to be made as spicy as they could make it, and there was not a hint of spice in the food (and it was even denoted as a spicy food in their menu already). Got the seafood lover meal and the seafood was unevenly cooked- some of the scallops and shrimp were extra chewy and soft while others were overly tough and rubbery. All the food came out very quickly though, so I feel like they were rushing.

Driving through Jersey to Connecticut and Googled for the best thai, and so glad we chose here! Thai ribs with pineapple fried rice, drunken noodles, and lemongrass soup were excellent. Wish we were locals and could come back!

Had lunch with my sister for her birthday at this restaurant for the first time. The atmosphere is wonderful. The staff is very friendly and efficient, and the food is fantastic! You would never know this little gem of a restaurant is hidden in the strip mall next to Marshalls off of route 23. Spread the word - it's worth the trip!

I stumbled upon this restaurant by shear luck during the pandemic and ordered takeout. I was dumbfounded to by how good the food was. Yesterday we came back after now numerous times and i have to leave them a positive review. Simply 10/10 crab rangoon’s and pad thai are my favorite. Warning ⚠️ if you order your food hot it will be extremely spicy 🌶. It was really spicy just the way I like it so be careful.

I ordered 3 items for pick up. When I went there, I was given someone else’s bag with clearly 2 items. The bag was sealed so I politely asked the girls, are you sure this is mine? Oh ya, 2 diff rents girls said. So I had to open the bag and it was only 2 items. So the girls quickly grab the bag and gave it to right person. I was given no sorry or anything, infect I was left aside with out any explanation. I had to then ask if my order is coming? Then only I got the answer. I waited till the right order came, but I got no apology what’s so ever.
Unacceptable and never going there again. I urge my friends and family to do the same.

First let me say that we have been here a few times and the food used to be excellent. However this time was an epic failure. I ordered the vegetable soup and the Pad Thai Chicken. The soup was very good, however there was an issue with the taste of the chicken. The larger pieces of chicken tasted as if they were on the way out or no good.
I quietly called the waiter over and ask him if they cook the chicken separate from the noodles and then just add them into the noodles. He said yes that they are cooked previously and then added into the noodles. I let him know that I thought the noodles were delicious but the Chicken was no good.
So he suggested having pad thai noodles with beef and I agreed.
Up to this point everything was still okay and he totally agreed with me.

Within just a few short minutes he returned with my plate.
The plate now had terrible-tasting beef that was equivalent to shoe leather and looked like it was lying around a long time. Terribly overcooked, dried out and once again no flavor.
To top it off they reused the same pad thai noodles they had given me previously that had chicken all through it. Like it was a joke!
I paid the full bill, no discount and left my entire meal on the table.
You have lost my business!

Noticeably Americanized, but still great food!

I recommend either the Singapore Noodles, the Pad Thai, or the Panag Curry. The Chicken Satay and the Golden Triangles are viable options too, if you just want something light.

We used to frequent this restaurant a lot however we stopped because of the change we noticed in the quality of their food. Today we decided to give it a try again after several months of not going only to be reminded why we stopped going in the first place. The food is nowhere as good as it used to be and we were very disappointed tonight. My pad Thai with chicken was all noodles and a couple of scallions and the chicken was over cooked. We ordered drunken noodles with mixed veggies which included 2 pieces of broccoli and a couple of string beans, also the portion was very small. We won’t be going back as there are better choices out there.

The curry/stir fry broth tastes like they got a good deal from a wandering middle-aged kikkoman salesman who sells *EASY,FAST,TASTY!!* concentrated curry sauce in a bottle that they water down and season with a few spices in order to make it easier to prep the meals... but my complaint only goes that far. Warm hearted staff, sizeable selections, and a good although very typical atmosphere (its a thai restaurant so lets put buddha iconography everywhere and call it a day as if a practiced religion is the determinant factor of a culture consisting millions of individuals) but thats just me nitpicking when the target consumer wouldnt know the difference between thai and japanese anyways. Came back a few times and will continue to do so. Cheers

Came here for a date. I ordered the fried rice with imitation crab meat. And my party ordered the swordfish special and edemame beans appetizer and we both had thai iced tea. The swordfish is the only thing id go back for. Make a reservation its super busy on sundays. Free surface parking lot available. Food comes out quick and service is friendly.

Just had dinner at House of Thai for the first time and it will not be the last! Classic Pad Thai was delish as was the Vegetarian Duck Salad. But the Glacial Soup with fresh veggies and cellophane noodles was the big hit at the table. Next visit I'm having a big bowl of just that...yum! Service and ambiance were lovely (super cute and clean restrooms too) and the check was under $100 for 4 people! Highly recommend 👍

Best Thai food in the area!

Had 2 gift cards dropped off at a friends house for his family as part of a "meal train" while he was in the hospital. The delivery driver was so accomodating and helpful. The whole experience was fantastic. Great customer service.

This was far fancier than I expected for a Thai restaurant, but not expensive or hoity toity. In fact, for the quality of food, higher scale atmosphere, and level of service provided the prices were very low.

I had had Thai food before, but wasn't totally sold on it. This restaurant sold me forever. The atmosphere was lovely, servers were super friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the shrimp roll with plum sauce and the chicken curry with roti. Both were amazing, but the curry was just *chef's kiss*💋
My friend ordered the pad thai and really enjoyed it. I will 100% come back here as soon as I can.

01/08/2021Still my favorite place for ,lunch and dinner... Have gone several times in the past few weeks to dine in at, House of thia, an as always amazing service... As well as the few times for delivery or take out, an again the food is phenomenal along with the service....

Definitely the best and freshest asian food around. The wait stuff are amazing and tht food is always fantastic. The crispy duck over drunken noodles is a gem.

I asked for medium heat on my food, but it was EXTRA Hot! I couldn't enjoy it.
