Established since January 1990 by the same family.
Beautiful little spot... been coming here for about a year now and has yet to let me down... food is always properly served and delicious wether its to go or to dine in... service is over the top. Have tried the spring rolls, crispy duck , and the pineapple chicken cashew fried rice... my favorite.. the decor is authentic to the country... try it, will not let you down
We opted for Thai food as it’s a healthy cuisine. We were not expecting for the food to taste sooo yummy! Well-deserved awards (see image provided). Hands down, no one comes close. The calamari was fresh, lightly seasoned, with the right amount of “crispy.” The Bangkok Seafood is now my official go-to dish when I crave seafood. The portions were good and the servers were very attentive. They must’ve come to our table 4x to refill our tea cups with aromatic Jasmine Green Tea.
Refills are free.
Restaurant was very clean too.
My partner and I haven’t been to this establishment in many years, and a friend came into town and wanted Thai food, so we recommended Bangkok Garden, located on Main Street in Hackensack, for dinner. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the staff and got a table without reservations as it was early. Don't let the empty tables fool you. Within 45 minutes, most tables were filled. Their interior was enhanced by traditional Thai pictures, wall arts, and decor. The menu was extensive, and we decided on the Thai tempura as a starter to be shared. The batter was light, not greasy, and the shrimp were flavorful. For our main meal, we opted for the Pad King( sautéed with fresh sliced ginger, onion, mushroom, scallion, and red bell pepper), Pad Ma-Moung (sautéed cashew nut, celery, onion, mushroom, and house special red sauce), Honor To The King (boneless breast of chicken marinated in egg and chef's special herb & spice, pan-fried to golden brown, served with sweet & spicy sauce and curry rice), and Pad See Ew with Tofu. You can specify how hot one wants on a scale of 1 to 10. We have never been disappointed with our selections, as they were tasty, well seasoned, fresh, and delicious. The portions were just right, as was the price. The staff were very polite, attentive, and provided quick service. One of the best authentic Thai restaurants in the area, which we continue to recommend.
This place was recommended by our family hairdresser, and we were pleasantly surprised. The space was actually bigger than we thought. The staff was very welcoming, hospitable, and attentive.
The food was fresh and delicious! We had the Tofu Tod, Thai Egg Roll, Shrimp Pad Thai, Shrimp Pad Sea-Eyew, Pa-Nang Puck, and Shrimp Pineapple Fried Rice.
The portions were good as well as the price. We'll definitely come back to try the other dishes.

WOW! This place is amazing! The service is outstanding, such welcoming staff. The food amazes me more and more every time I come here. The wonton soup here is one of the best wonton soups I have ever had. Everything tasted so fresh, the happy hour is great as well. The environment is homey and comfortable as well. One of my favorite restaurants in Hackensack.
Still delishus. Still clean, comfy.... and the owner is a queen of a lady. She makes you feel welcome every time.... always shares her great sense of humor and kindness. DEFINITELY recommend.
The food here is absolutely exceptional, and the staff is incredibly kind and attentive. The wontons and Volcano Chicken are truly outstanding—an absolute must-try! From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of amazing.
Great Food and cooked to perfection.
Excellent and attentive service.
Our new favorite Thai cuisine restaurant!
my favorite place! service and food 10/10
Updated review. Downgrading from 5 stars to 1. Ordering from this restaurant for a long time using Doordash. But today had a very unpleasant experience with the lady not giving me my order and giving me a very hard time. She didn’t believe my name, then questioned my items, then promos applied by Doordash. I will order elsewhere now, not looking for extra stress.
.
UPDATE : after years of going to this restaurant I have to say we will no longer go there. VOLCANO CHICKEN more like dried chicken jerky. What’s more disappointing is the fact that I told two servers that I couldn’t eat it cause it was too dry. They both walked away and said sorry but did nothing about it and just walked away like there’s nothing wrong. When we asked for the check I asked to talk to a manager. Manager didn’t even bother to come to the table. Seems they are so busy that they don’t care for the regular customers anymore. I let go a few times when the food was ok but this time we are definitely going to look for another Thai restaurant because this one does not care.
This place is my new Thai spot. Food is delicious and portions are great. Take away option was good and hopefully I can eat there sometime.
The lady on the phone was super rude. She kept saying that the lunch menu on their website was old HOWEVER she would not tell me what's on their updated menu. She asked me to tell her what I want instead but every time I said something she said it was not on their lunch menu. AND SHE HANG UP MY CALL!!
Delicious Thai food. Fresh, full of flavour and very reasonably priced. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for great Thai. Just because careful of #5 spice level.
Dude’s Foods: 4.75 stars

I've had many different dishes here over the years, and have yet to be disappointed. I like the atmosphere, too, and the staff are very nice and attentive.
Delicious cripy pork belly, mango salad was great, and fried rice was one of the best fried rices i have had.
This place is my favorite of all the many places I have eaten at and highly recommend you give it a try !!!’

Have the tea
The lady who served my food was super nice at the restaurant. But the food was not that great. It's salty, and the ingredients weren't fresh. I keep comparing to other places I have been, and I'm really questioning the high reviews people wrote here.. is this a joke? I get that this location isn't great in NJ, but high expectations toward the food was my big mistake.
Reasonable prices for good food.
Good Thai food.
I have personally been to Bangkok, Thailand and the food here is just as great if not better. My grandparents have been coming here for 40 years, my parents 20 years, and myself 10 years. The best Thai food you will ever find.
Consistently good food... 'nuff said.
i’ve been eating at this restaurant for over 20 years. My favorite dish is the Bangkok lemon chicken. I love their Thai salad and mixed drinks. My husband loves the food mostly spicy stuff he eats. Everybody’s always very nice. Services is good. Restaurant is very nice and clean

The best Pad Thai in town! Their green curry is also excellent.
The food was ok. I got the Pad Grapow. It was better than average. My wife got the Massaman curry, it was ok.
We also got curry puffs(ok) and chicken Satay(good).
Coming here for years!!! Love you Grandma!!! Rick.
We’ve been searching for the authentic taste of Thai food all over and this is by far up to par.
Padthai was on the spot, papaya salad trasported us back to Thailand and Bangkok platter reminded us of the street food of Bangkok. The ‘grandma’ was super friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended place.
Wonderful staff, amazing food. A flavor vacation!
Some of the beat Thai I've had.
Love it.
Great Thai food 😎
Second time trying their food tonight.
The first was a dine-in experience, food was OK, but we decided to give them another try five years later. However, we can’t say if the restaurant has been under the same management since.
Tonight was our second attempt for an enjoyable meal. This time we ordered for take out . Food was prepared incorrectly, the spicy level in our dishes was out of this world!! Two of our dishes ended up being a level 8 spice even tho we requested a level 2/10. So the food was too spicy for us to handle.
The squid pad see ew entree was saucy, but too fishy. The dish got fishier as I was eating it be it was getting cold over time, not delicious at all!
Papaya salad was so flavorful, but too spicy. I suggest you to request a level 1 spiciness if you cannot any take too spice like myself.
My husband’s level 2 spicy beef salad was too spicy for him and he couldn’t finish it, wasted.
Veggie curry puffs come in a pair. Nice flaky shell, but missing curry flavor.
Not sure if we will be giving them a third try after this experience.
Food was amazing. Great find I stumbled across randomly.
We love it there! Delicious food! No complaints what so ever!
Chill vibe, local spot, and most importantly food was delicious.
Food is horrible, and waste of money
아이들과 자주 가는곳.

A quick afternoon dinner.
Very pleasant staff. Quick service, paid attention to use.
Prices far and worth it.
Super tasty Thai dishes! The flavor is richer than that of nearby Thai restaurants. Overall, the dishes are spicy without being overly salty. I’ll definitely return and try other dishes!
But the street parking was too difficult…
Bangkok Garden is by far still the best Thai food I’ve ever had. The pa-nang is absolutely unreal. Quality is always top-notch.
I never ate inside, always had takeout, and I love it. I enjoy every bite
Delicious and good quality food!
We live about an hr away, but whenever we pass the area we always eat or do take out
Everything was perfect.
This is by far the best Thai food around. Always served a delicious meal and the staff is friendly. Highly recommend!
The food was absolutely delicious and they were kind enough to ask how spicy we preferred for each dish which was extremely helpful and considerate. This alone makes the restaurant standout in not only service but accommodation for their customer’s individual likes and needs. We had the Tom Gai Soup with chicken which was lovely and the Mussels as appetizers. The mussels were steamed perfectly and the accompanying sauce was rich in flavor. We enjoyed a battered shrimp dish, which presented beautifully and the sauce was also amazing. The Red Curry with Shrimp was very nicely done with fresh lemongrass and perfectly cooked shrimp. I loved it! We also had a Pad Thai dish which looked great and it too was very flavorful and cooked just right. My friends have been coming here for a while but this was my first visit with them. The Owner was super welcoming, asked our individuals tastes and sent out the items exactly as we requested. Every team member was equally engaging and it was great to interact on such a warm and personal level. Some of the things I look for when seeking core locations of some of my favorite types of food. Thank you to the team for a great first experience and I look forward to the next. Cheers!
This place is great. I love the crispy duck and spicy basil fried rice. I definitely recommend it.
Food is pretty good! Lunch specials are good!
We have loved Bangkok Garden for 34 years. The food and service have been consistently wonderful all this time.
Try the duck salad. Fab. Also the tom kai gai is excuisite.
Not open
This place was recommended by our family hairdresser, and we were pleasantly surprised. The space was actually bigger than we thought. The staff was very welcoming, hospitable, and attentive.
The food was fresh and delicious! We had the Tofu Tod, Thai Egg Roll, Shrimp Pad Thai, Shrimp Pad Sea-Eyew, Pa-Nang Puck, and Shrimp Pineapple Fried Rice.
The portions were good as well as the price. We'll definitely come back to try the other dishes.
Portions were small but tasty.
Our kids love the food here. Kids and adults enjoy the food here. It’s a reliable option for excellent Thai food
Food is consistently excellent. Good service, friendly staff.
This is a hidden gem. We had C2 and C3 from the menu. 10/10 would get the same food again. Definitely coming back.
I love Bangkok Garden.
Probably not going back here . Parking horrible, food so so but small plates, service poor.
Really great authentic Thai food. Delicious & reasonably priced.
Food is good, but they have an issue sticking to their hours. Sometimes the kitchen closes before 9 and other times they take a break during the day.
Ordered the Thai basil beef. The beef was overcooked and very dry.
Went with a large group and everyone enjoyed their dinner. I got the house signature jumbo shrimp with veggies in a coconut sauce. It was very good. Service was efficient not warm and bubbly but with that large a group it's understandable they didn't have time for chitchat.
Entire family ordered today through door dash / Uber eats. Everyone loved their meals! I had the Tom Yum Noodle with pork and it was amazing. The depth of flavor and punch of the broth were like nothing I remember of Thai food. My son had the Kha-Nom Jeeb and put them down in minutes. He said way they were way better than the typical Asian dumplings. 6 of us ate for around $100.
My boyfriend and I had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. We were craving for authentic Thai food and this spot was a hidden gem! We were impressed with how good the food was. We shared the green curry with chicken and drunken noodle with shrimp dish. Both were delicious. The only mediocre dish was the appetizer, pork ribs were way too dry and not flavorful. I wouldn't order it again.
They have a bar here and many different cocktails on the list. Ours were a bit too sweet.
We will be back for the curry and noodle dishes!
Great food & excellent service 👌
It wasn't so great food was salty and fish patties taste like rubber , thai ice tea was too sweet.
Service was ok slow and not to knowledgeable on food ingredients.
Atmosphere was nice quaint.
If you like delicious spicy food or miss being in Thailand, then this is the place for you. Anyone who gives Bangkok Garden less than 5 stars needs to have their head examined.
The food was delicious! Small portion of food for the price.
Ate there for lunch yesterday being on a Thai food kick....
My first time at Bangkok garden.
I was recommended by a good friend who is a great chef in NYC.
We had to stop with the Thai iced tea. We then had the curry puffs, the papaya salad and the meecrob for appetizers followed by pad Thai and our dessert was Sweet sticky Rice and fresh mango.
I was really really happy with the food, it felt fresh and the wait staff recommended a certain spice level feeling medium would be possibly too hot. She said to us I'll give you a 3 instead of a 5 heat rating. She was spot-on it was the perfect amount of heat in the papaya salad and I will be going back for sure.
It’s our go to Thai place in Bergen county. Their fried rice, panang curry and pad see ew is usually on point and is our go to order. Their style is from northern Thailand.
Stopped in on a Sunday at around 1:45 for a late lunch when I was craving some Thai food. I found Bangkok Garden Thai nearby and it had pretty good reviews so we decided to check it out. There were still quite a few tables dining there at the time.
I went with the classic pad Thai with chicken. It was pretty standard. However, their condiment caddy helped. It had chili sauce, and pickled Thai chilies and we ate most of that. Portions are a tad smaller than most Thai restaurants. Hubby had the jumbo shrimp massaman, which was crispy shrimp with green beans in a coconut curry sauce. Though pricey, this dish was good. I really liked the sauce and ended up using some on my pad Thai. Green beans were a bit undercooked but I liked how they used it as a raft for the shrimp, so that it wouldn’t get soggy.
Not sure I would go out of my way to come back here, but it satisfied the craving.
Tip - the restaurant is located on a pretty busy Main Street , so your best bet for parking is the street behind, and you can cut through the back of the restaurant.
Disappointed.
I ordered Pad Thai very spicy. But It had no spice and flavor was off.
Decent Thai place
Overall the food here was awesome. From what we ordered the massaman curry and spicy crab fried rice was our favorite. Can’t wait to go back and try their other dishes.
Good authentic Thai foods. Orders came out very fast. Lovely restaurant. Willing to go back.
Top notch food. Staff were very friendly. Loved the decor and ambience. Prices were affordable and food was fresh and tasty.
Would definitely order from here again. Food was delicious, they just need to work on the ambiance
Good food and great service. Never disappoints.
Great service, menu, bar, and awesome food!
Food was Great . Good location and lots of parking .
Usually it's pretty good, but the Togo we ordered today was not too good. Pad Thai noodle is it undercooked...
Love this place. Food is always delicious and fresh.
I can highly recommend the pad Thai ! It is the best around !!
Good Thai food
Taste is good, but food portions were too small compare to the price.
Food absolutely delicious. I always gravitate to their Tofu Tod and chicken curry puffs as their appetizer. Delicious pad Thai with chicken and beef garlic and broccoli. For the most part, the atmosphere with Thai decor was beautiful. Spacing of tables and chairs was a challenge especially when large group behind my chair was leaving the same time my husband and I were trying to get up to leave and maneuver to exit restaurant.
When we initially came in an employee asked if we wanted to be seated or if we were picking up food. We told him we wanted to be seated. He didn’t respond. We waited for about 20 minutes. I wasn’t sure if we were going to be seated, since the hostess never responded to us.The first thing one of the employees told me was to stand over in the corner. When my husband got tired of waiting he asked if we were going to be seated. Then we were seated at a table for 4. But there were 5 of us. When we told the waitress, she put a chair behind us. She didn’t even speak to us. When my husband tried making space at the table for all of us to fit she just moved the chair away from the table. I think she expected for me to leave my infant behind us or perhaps she expected me to sit behind my children and eat with the plate on lap. Then I went up to the hostess and told him that we didn’t fit at the table. He just looked at me and walked away. At that point we left. I am not sure why they were so dismissive but it was really disappointing. I felt discriminated for walking into their establishment with children. I wish they would have a sign outside the door saying “no children welcome “ so that I wouldn’t have wasted my children's time especially when they were hungry .
My bar for Thai food. I've been coming here for decades and have found none better.
Good vegetarian options and a comfortable ambience. Three restaurant was quite accommodating in terms of various requests and the staff was quite friendly. The time taken to receive the food was quite minimal and the costs were extremely reasonable. The food turned out to be quite delicious indeed.
Love their food and service! We always dine or order out from them esp. on holidays or special ocassions.. Definitely highly recommended!!!
Great Thai restaurant, one of my favorites! Tom kha gai and spicy fried rice are amazing dishes.
The Pad Thai with Tofu isn't the best I've had BUT THE CURRY?! It came out piping hot and the Panang Curry was amazing. So much flavor and the thickness of the liquid was perfect. The massaman curry was good, but the potatoes weren't cooked all the way through, like they made it in a rush. But the waitress had a great sense of humor and I loved my order.
The food here is always delicious whether it be dine in or take out. The decor and the staff are nice.
Awesome place. Great service everyone was so polite and nice. Recommend 100%!
Very authentic and delicious
Awesome food! Regularly get takeout and always delicious and fresh! The panang curry is AMAZING 👍👍👍
Good food at a good price... nice late night eats, nice service, only complaint would be the old decor. But I would recommend it.
Very delicious food 😋 Tip: if you have a low spice tolerance don’t get medium level spicy! I got that level of spice and it was soooooo spicy!! They are not kidding around with the spice! Also thank you to this restaurant for satisfying my sticky rice craving that I had been having for a while.
Absolutely never again. I felt so bad my friend brought us here. She was excited to bring us here because she orders here often and raved about the food. Online the restaurant says it's open until 10p. We get there around 8:40p and they say they close at 9:30p and the kitchen is taking final orders. Although they were rude they insisted on serving us. We ordered and one of our orders was so spicy that we couldn't get past one bite. The owner was confused it was spicy because she actually took the order and knew we said no spice. But that was only after we had to practically get out of our seat and pass her the plate for her to listen. I just don't understand how every worker could be so rude. AND when we asked for saw she simply we don't have sauce.
we get a new order and it's so smoky we still can't eat it. During this experience, the two tables next to us were also noticeably disgusted. We all ended up joking about it amongst ourselves. And to put the cherry on top they took over 15 min to bring the check. I thought you were rushing us out? I don't know if today was a bad night or what. And I try to only write good reviews. But this was such a bad experience I couldn't just keep quiet.
Simply the best.
I moved to an apartment on Main Street in Hackensack and had yet to try Bangkok Garden. I’m so glad I finally called! I had Nam Sod, Tom Yum soup with chicken and chicken satae skewers.
Everything was so delicious! The nam sod was made with ground chicken instead of the ground pork version I was accustomed to; it was beautifully spiced and the chicken was a great change.
The Tom Yum soup, one of the best I have had with the lemongrass flavor and subtle sour taste was amazing.
The only thing I missed was the level 3 spice I requested. None of the dishes were even close to level 3 and, in fact, I think they left out the heat altogether.
I can’t wait to return to try completely different dishes!
Been here twice for dine in and once for delivery, and had a great meal both times. The food is authentic, has a great vibe, and really enjoyed every dish we had. Highly recommend the tom yum and their fried fish dish with ginger sauce. Their curries are incredible too. Weirdly their pork tastes a lot like chicken but still good nonetheless. Highly recommend.
Excellent food. The Tom Ka Gai, Chicken Satay, Pad See Euw are great!!
Everything was delicious
Always excellent, congenial staff and ambience serving authehtic thai cuisine. Tonight I had jumbo shrimp in a massamon curry...superb!
Poor flavor and presentation food.
Bangkok Garden is a true staple in the county and very well known. I love the food, it is always fresh, presented well, and the service is great. I am a repeat customer and have always had a great meal here. I suggest the Tom Kha Gai soup to start and they serve jasmine tea complimentary. There is plenty on the menu and daily specials as well. Thanks for the great memories Bangkok Garden.
They had absolutely no passion for food, chicken wontons had barely any chicken, curry appeared to be made from curry paste and water. I was visiting from out of state and New Jersey has no impressed me.
Delicious
Love it! Crave it! Have been here several times and it never disappoints. The flavors are outstanding and preparation is fresher and better than other thai restaurants in the area. Especially like the green curry, noodle dishes and whole snapper. Very reasonably priced food and wine, combined with friendly service, keep me coming back. While the setting isn't anything special, the food and service more than make up for it!
Food is amazing as always. I have been going here since 2016 with my husband and with the kids once we had them. I have zero complaints. Excellent customer service and very accommodating.
Great food
It's always good food and nice people
If u you want an authentic thai food this is the place. Portion is good, Fast Service, Very Courteous Staff and Price is just about right. I work in a restaurant and I know how hard it is to provide the best ingredients because our inventory is so high! Plus the rent that really kill all the restaurant. Let us support good restaurant like this!
Food was average, nothing out of the ordinary. The noise in the restaurant was too much with no padding on the wall or floors. To make it worse the waiters were constantly arranging the tables and chairs, dragging the tables on the floor and placing the chairs with a big thump!
We asked for water and thai iced tea and had to remind them thrice to bring it. We got the water and iced tea only when we were done with dinner. Poor customer service
The food is excellent no complaints I am going back
