Relaxed spot for classic fare at custom spice levels with gluten-free options & lunch specials.
Stopped here for lunch! I had the Thai salad. It was very good. I had it with chili lime dressing. At first I couldn’t taste the chili so I asked for the chili powder. It tasted better with the chili powder. I would have liked the carrots to be sliced other than that the salad was fresh and perfect for lunch. I ordered a vegetable roll to go for later. I would recommend this place.
This may be my new favorite restaurant. Such a unique spot with incredible food. If you choose to sit outside, you dine in a beautiful garden growing cucumbers, hydrangeas, carefully manicured Asian esk trees, and light by string lights. Amazing atmosphere that is really relaxing.
The Pad Thai here was fantastic. The best I've had both here in the US and in Thailand. The Ka-Nom-Jeeb dumplings stuffed with crab, shrimp, and chicken were so good. Also, the tapioca dessert was amazing and so unique.
Couldn't recomend this restaurant more. Thanks for a memorable meal!
The owner is Thai so the flavor is definitely authentic. We’ve been here on numerous occasions, this time we ordered duck curry, chicken kebabs, fish, pad Thai with shrimp and Thai ice tea. Staff is attentive as always and provided us with another pleasant dining experience.
Very good quality authentic tasting food and nice atmosphere. I love love love this place.
I love their fried pork appetizer. If I live close by, I would order their fried pork and pair with my beer.
I had drunken noodle, Tom Yum soup, papaya salad and a lot more other dishes from this place and everything was super delicious.
Highly recommended.
Really the best Thai food in my opinion. Four of us had the lunch special with Thai salad and ginger tea. I had the Kra Pow chicken and banana pudding for dessert. My sister's had the Se-ew chicken salad and tofu with mixed vegetables. Brother in law had the basil beef and coconut ice cream some kind of delicious soup. Staff were busy but still very attentive during our wonderful lunch.
Great apps- curry puff & chicken stuff shrimp. The meals however were bland and lacking. Beef and garlic with rice had no additional flavor beside the garlic. Rice meh. The tofu pad Thai spicy was not spicy, bland and in some kind of red looking liquid. Was very disappointed.
Thai ice tea and butterfly lemonade were good.
Sat outside in this beautiful garden oasis of real plants and flowers under large umbrella for the shade. Plenty of street parking.
Found this place based on the reviews coming off the beach at Sandy Hook. Very disappointed by the food compared to the 4.5 star rating.
Excellent authentic Thai Restaurant! The portions are generous too! You can get 2 meal out of one dinner here. Tonight we had the Chicken Cashew Nut and the Pad Thai dinners both were delicious and packed with authentic Thai flavor. They also have a nice selection of Thai desserts as well. I highly recommend Kunya Siam in Highlands!
This is the 3rd time my family and I have dined here. Always amazingly fresh and delicious food. Extremely friendly service. Awesome outdoor garden ambiance. We are vegan and they easily accommodate us every time we come. Hoping one day they add a vegan ice cream or some other dessert to their menu. Highly recommend.
Great food, I haven't had better Thai food anywhere else, expensive but you get what you pay for.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant. The various dishes are always well prepared and delicious. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.

Highly recommended.
Favorite Thai restaurant! Food is consistent, fresh and quality ingredients. The ambiance is spectacular, especially when you dine outside in Kunyas garden. Highly recommend!
Fabulous Thai cuisine. The Penang duck is amazing. Shrimp rolls also a favorite of ours.
This place is amazing. They have a really cute outdoor dining area in a garden setting. The food is awesome, and the prices are great!
Very good. Nice ambiance. Duck was excellent.
Food was great and ontime thanks
Excellent local Thai restaurant. Low key, great food and excellent prices.
The Salmon ChuChee and Khao Soi are our favorite dishes! 🤤 The Salmon ChuChee has a savory and rich sauce that is 🤌✨ incredible! We also enjoy their curry puffs.
Everything was fine except for my Thai Salad. It did not contain wonton skins as advertised and the peanut sauce was watered down mustard sauce I had it to go so I was stuck with it

The food is amazing. Staff is friendly, definitely recommend eating here, extremely enjoyable and flavors are incredible
Nice. I recommend it

Delicious Thai food served by lovely people who smile openly. Ate there for lunch and had the lunch special which came with an appetizer. Would definely eat there again.

A “must visit” if you’re traveling anywhere near the area. The menu has a ton of options and I haven’t run into any that aren’t delicious! They can also cater safely to a variety of allergy needs (including celiac safe). Also, the staff is always very quick and friendly as well.
We eat here a couple of times a month. They know us now and we always have great service. Highly recommend the lunch special with salad, Green Curry with chicken and Kee Mao beef(we order with extra veggies) The food is always fresh and delicious. If you like it spicy ask for chili's, they will bring several types, all good. The Panang Duck is amazing as well, we always order it when having dinner.
Wonderful little corner Thai restaurant!! Im no expert on Thai food, but everything I've eaten there has been delicious!! Pleasant, attentive service!!
Great atmosphere, speedy service. Kunya is a sweetheart and serves out table herself. We came in for a Tuesday lunch and were the only ones seated. The food was fresh, and delicious, I can tell it was made with care. We had the fried beef appetizer, the honey ribs with Thai Mali white rice, the shrimp roll appetizers, and a thai fried rice with chicken to share. The beef was snacky and delicious with the sauce, the shrimp rolls were crunchy and also delicious with the plum sauce. The ribs were the fav, tender and not too sweet. The rice had fresh ingredients and huge chucks of chicken. My sis got a Thai tea and couldn’t stop raving saying it was so delicious, but at first glance looked too creamy. We will for surely be coming back. We usually like Muang Thai in Red bank or Siam, but Kunya is our new favorite place. Keep up the great work!
Favorite Thai restaurant in Monmouth County!
I had the Shrimp Pad Thai. Shrimp were overcooked and too too much red curry sauce, which I have never seen in this dish before. Peanuts were stale. Very disappointed.
Excellent fresh veggies and tender duck make this my favorite in the area!
The food is always spot on. I feel so lucky to have a great Thai place so close to me. The staff is great and so sweet every time. It's my go to for a great meal that's BYOB!
Delicious food, great atmosphere and friendly service
Last Saturday night I ordered pat thai chicken, green curry chicken curry puff, Thai fried rice and beef basil fried rice for takeout and I like to order takeout here regularly every weekend. But what I felt was strange about the chicken fried rice and beef basil fried rice. It tasted different from before. 40-50 minutes later, my little sons (12 years old) had a stomach ache after eating the fried rice. He couldn’t sleep on that night. I tried to taste and look at those fried rices It felt like there was a lot of oil and the chicken was undercooked. This has never happened before.
Amazing Penang curry. Everything on the menu looked fresh and made with care. Very cozy spot. Great service, nice people. Highly recommend.
Beautiful and delicious
Hands down, the best Thai around. You can’t go wrong, but highlights include the fried tofu, veggie dumplings, prik khing chicken, panang curry and rama peanut. 10/10.
We ordered take out and I couldn’t believe how delicious everything was! The best I’ve ever had! The grilled steak was tender and delicious, the pad see ew with chicken was tasty and the noodles were perfect, and the red curry chicken was sublime. The chicken was tender and the curry sauce was amazing! I’d give it more than 5 stars if I could. Thank you Kunya Siam!!!
Best Thai restaurant on the Bayshore. Been coming here for years. Cozy atmosphere. Excellent food and service, but take note: the prices at this restaurant have risen considerably after the pandemic and increased clientele. A simpler dish like Pad Thai now costs well over $20 which seems to be outpacing inflation (?!?) We go every few months and the prices have increased noticeably each time. Minus one star overall for this. Also, check your bill to ensure prices on menu align with the price listed on the menu. We have observed errors on more than one occasion. Portion sizes are decent, but not large, and seem to be decreasing as well. You may have leftovers if you decide to order an appetizer or two and/or save room for dessert, both are very good. Parking not so great, but this is due to the location. Give them a try if you don’t mind paying a little more for better food and service and atmosphere.
We are so thrilled that Kunya Siam hosted our big group as part of our wedding celebration! We really appreciated that they communicated their policies for large parties upfront and that they proactively called to confirm our reservation the day before our event. Although we were disappointed that we couldn’t enjoy the lovely garden due to the weather, we were grateful that they could accommodate us inside instead! Our guests (including several vegetarians) loved the food and cozy indoor ambiance. We made wonderful memories here!
Beautiful backyard garden with flowers and sunflowers. Indoors is a cool casual vibe with Thai decorations. We’ve had two delicious meals here. Tonight had delicious vegan summer rolls, cold veggies contrasting with delicious warm peanut sauce. Crab fried rice was not greasy like most fried rice, big chunks of crab with onion and tomato - fresh lime the key flavor. We’ve enjoyed pad Thai, shrimp and duck dishes. Excellent food.

My man and I have been coming here whenever we want some great Thai food and we have never been dissatisfied at Kunya Siam. We’ve tried so many different dishes, they always come out hot and taste so awesome. My go to is the panang curry chicken. And everyone is so friendly too, which is always appreciated!
Excellent food and great family
Went here last night with a friend. I am not familiar with Thai food - it was amazing!!!! Can’t wait to go back again!
Roasted Duck was amazing with red curry sauce!
Great Thai coffee too!
Great dishes and comfortable atmosphere. We are never disappointed.
A great dining place for people who has dietary restriction (i.e., gluten-free)!.. plus a very good service and ambience with friendly staff. The gluten-free and vegan dumplings are excellent!!!

Good food and service!
The best thai food in the area!
Top restaurant in shore! Spicy duck dish is as good as it gets. People great! Healthy fresh and recipes that took centuries to develop! Yummy!
We had a dinner at this restaurant this Saturday. The restaurant was dirty and the server was rushing to take the order. We had a Chicken Cashewnut, Grilled Beef, Siam Duck (We actually ordered Crab), Fried Calamari, Ko—nom-Jeeb, Connor Fried Chicken and Tom Yum soup (large). The soup had a funny smell and weird texture. Rest of the items were bland, raw and stale. Even though they served us rotten food and wrong item we chose to be nice and not argue about it. When we came out of the restaurant one of the Asian looking waiter (was not our server) approached to our car and threw racial slur at us and said not to go back to that restaurant because he didn't like the tips. My kids were scared like he will hit us. After spending $160 in stale food and wrong item and being nice to them my family had to go through this trauma at the end. Our server who was a different lady didn't say anything when I was paying the bill. After all of these I went inside to speak to the manager who was not present there and that male server gave me a fake number of his manager. The server said his name is Jack which I believe a lie too. How our family dinner turned into a horrific memory.
Terrific food, authentic Thai. Our favorite Thai restaurant and it's not even close. Service is excellent, polite and quick. Their new outdoor seating is fantastic.
One of my favorite restaurants in Atlantic Highlands and New Jersey in general! The service is always top notch. The most authentic Thai food I've had in America. I highly recommend the pak mor appetizer and the Khao Soi entree. The lunch specials are a fantastic deal and the perfect meal in the middle of a long day. We ate there nearly every day when our kitchen was being renovated and we are so grateful to have delicious, affordable food nearby. "Kap khun ka, Khun Kunyia!"
Servers were very attentive. The food was fresh and delicious.
So good - fresh and tasty food and lovely people working there. Delightful garden on a beautiful evening, it was perfect.
Really good quality Thai food. My wife and I go here often and the food is always delicious, along with the excellent friendly service. If you are in Atlantic highlands and want some great Thai food give the Thai a try 😀
I had the crab fired rice. It was so so good
Best Thai food around! Consistent, large portions, excellent flavor, & quality/fresh ingredients. 10/10
Delicious food and great service.
Best Thai food I've had in NJ. Pad kee mao was very good and the duck was perfectly crispy and delicious. Restaurant is very cute with lots of plants growing in the windows.
Get the red curry! The food was on point.
Ordered a beef dish. The beef was old and rubbery. Was clearly cooked many hours/days in advance. The flavor was just ok. But the overall dish was like a week old microwaved meal. Will not come back. And for $50 for two people I would expect more.
Great food and excellent service
Limited gluten free and soy options
Excellent lunches and dinners!! Dine in or takeout.
Stopped in for lunch. Delicious chicken curry and rice. Wonderful fried tofu. ....and the best part ...is the waitstaff. Welcoming, kind, and accommodating. Be sure to stop in for a nice lunch with a friend. You'll enjoy it!
The best Thai I ever had everything is delicious but guys try the Siam duck
Pleasant experience, always, enjoy the food very much. Prices good.
Delicious food, wonderful family owned business and staff, a great experience.
Authentic, delicious experience
So, with the departure of Siam Garden in Red Bank, really good Thai food has been hard to find in Monmouth County. Now, we always thought that Siam Garden was in a class by itself.
While the food at Kenya Siam was not quite up to the same level as Siam Garden, it is exceptionally good. It's the best of the alternatives that we have tried.
Service was very friendly and exceptionally fast. The food quality was excellent. We enjoyed all the appetizers including the satay, dumplings, spring and shrimp rolls. We had a variety of entrees which were all very good. I especially enjoyed the Ginger Shrimp.
If you're looking for an excellent Thai restaurant in a cozy Thai themed space, you will enjoy your evening at Kenya Siam Thai. It's BYOB, so if you want to enjoy a beer or wine you need to bring your own.
Best Thai in the area with unique as well as traditional dishes. Great vegetarian options and really fresh ingredients.
I've been here twice so far and everything has been delicious.
Tonight we had dessert, fried ice cream and taro custard (I think). Both delish!!
My first bubble teas!! So good!delightful!!
Dishes are big enough to share. My friend and I usually get two things and split them.
My best thai food ever in the US!
So so so so good. Everytime I've been here I have not been disappointed. All the things I've tried have been delicious.
The food is always amazing and the staff is always so kind. I've only ever gotten takeout, but the establishment appears very clean and has a calming atmosphere. They also have outdoor seating in the back; it looks like a lovely place to sit down and have a meal. Definitely some outstanding Thai food!
It wasn't bad but the food wasn't amazing either. If you needed a quick take out or an easy place to go grab a bite with a friend it fits the bill.
Always great food and dine in is great.
Wonderful food and staff is lovely!
First time visit. It was an ok experience over all. The ambience was really nice. The staffs were good. The taste was ok ok. It was not that good when compared to other Thai restaurants. Also the quantity was not good. We ordered Fried Tofu, Pad Thai, Veg Fried rice, Green curry and Vegetable spring rolls. We didn’t had that Thai taste and the tofu size was big.
Thai Ice Tea was very nice. Everyone should try it.
El mejor restaurante q he visitado en Atlantic Highlands el duck basil uffff lo mejor 🤤
Positive: Great ambiance (We sat outside and it was full of plants which we enjoyed) and great service
Negative: We ordered veg pad thai which we didn't like!
Very disappointing. Larb (marked as 2* spicy) had barely discernable levels of spice. Siam Duck (also default 2* spicy and specifically requested as very very hot), tasted only of coconut milk - absolutely no spice at all. Complete waste of money. Do not plan on returning.
The ambience for outdoor seating was beautiful 5/5. Music was good too, instrumental/orchestrated. Service was 3.5/5. Patio was being taken apart while we were finishing our appetizers. Waitress was overwhelmed and even as the last table, party of two, we didn't receive adequate attention. Food was 2.9/5. Was very disappointed that none of the curries could be vegetarian and my partner was looking forward to having some curry. Asked for medium spice level but got mild/plain. Presentation was great of the dishes but lacked authentic Thai flavors and had to request dinner plates but got small share plates. Overall this restaurant deserves 3.5/5 stars during my experience due to the lack of thai flavors and small quantity of vegetarian options but was a very cute/quaint atmosphere although, not great value for the price. Also service could have been more attentive. Chili oil tasted like the kind you get at a supermarket.
I’ve enjoyed Kunya many times- their food and service never disappoint!! Most favorite dishes: Pak-Mor (not too miss) See-Ew Chicken, and their Won-Ton Soup. Folks who love spice ?
I suggest you definitely try the Curry Puffs, and order your dishes spicy! The staff is attentive and friendly, and the food flavorful and consistent. Definitely a local spot not to miss.
So many gluten free options! Love love love the dumplings! Servings are big, definitely two meals.
Disappointed in food also not served what was ordered.
My appetizer was excellent. The thai tea a very pleasant combo of 2 separate teas
I love thai food but my knucklehead friends 1st visit skeptical.
Very good food and service
Come let me start by saying I know I should get picked on a little because I went to a Thai restaurant basically got steam dumplings and calamari. But now getting to the review. Both were very good. I love both the sauces that came with them. One was a plum sauce which surprisingly was terribly spicy but loaded with flavor. I did not get the full experience of eating in which to me look like a really nice place and if you're having a bad day, it's a nice soothing place to go and relax and get some good food. I promise I will update this review (when ) I go back and definitely get something more traditional
Love this restaurant. Cute little place, great food whether take out or dining in and has a cool outdoor dining area too.
Best Thai we’ve found in the area since traveling there a few years ago! Super authentic, high quality, and during social distancing everything is packaged with impressive care, often leaving you final steps for dish assembly to ensure the best fresh textures, which I seriously appreciate. The menu is also refreshingly broad, along with all the classics you can find favorites from up in the mountains all the way down to the islands. Just finding my favorite dish khao soi (difficult to find outside Chiang Mai) done so well here was already a godsend, but the pla lard prik and jumbo shrimp with garlic sauce sent me right back to Koh Lanta! So excited to have found this place, we’re regulars from now on. 🙏🏼
Love this cosy and characterful restaurant. The chefs do a great job making tasty and authentic food and the service staff are very friendly. True Thai hospitality in Atlantic Highlands.
Cute little place, good apps and entress. BYOB which is always a plus, staff was a bit in a rush as we were done around closing time, understanding of this people want to go home, if there is a next time well be sure to have an earlier reservation to avoid this
Delicious. Plan ahead of time to get in. Nothing more to say.
I had the Red Curry Chicken. It was a fresh, flavorful medium hot spice dish, and it was delivered to the table hot. Another person at our table ordered the Siam Duck. They enjoyed it. The Siam Duck might be the dish I have next time.
The location of this restaurant is right off of First Avenue. It is walking distance from a pizza place, an ice creamery, and Raritan Bay.
Kunya Siam has authentic Thai food with delicious variety of dishes. The service is exceptional, with many servers to bring food and refill your drinks. We had the Dumplings that were rich in flavor, crabmeat fried rice that has lumps of fresh Crab and a spicy seafood dish.
Amazing food and staff!
Ate here for dinner , food was delicious. Staff was friendly. It's BYOB so if you're coming from carton you can bring some cans. Will definitely be back.
Food was superb!!! Hot, fresh,, large portions.. It received just 4 stars due to wait staff, but I realize due to staffing shortages everywhere things takes longer. Would like to go back!!
Stopped here for lunch 2 weeks ago.
Had to get something quick. I ordered the chicken fried rice and the spring rolls ( I enjoyed bought of them). The staff was very friendly ( told me about the lunch specials ) very cool 😎. Next time I want to try the duck.
Very decorative and very good food
Kunya Si-am-not able to afford their food anymore. Really nice people, great atmosphere, but it seems this eastern monmouth county gem has been forced to compete in the land of the precious and pricey.
My favorite Thai place around!! Always recommending it to other people. Great food, beautiful outdoor seating in a garden, and reasonable prices. Service is always great too!
Superb food and awesome service in the charming garden...with the best coffee I've ever tasted. Ka-boom Kunya Siam!
The food was delectable and different from any other Thai restaurant I’ve been to. The staff is warm and friendly, and the indoor space is nicely decorated, giving it a cozy feel. We’ll definitely be here often.
Great food , extra friendly staff . Highly recommend
From the moment we sat down on a quiet Tuesday night it was strange. The very young waiter seemed agitated and in a hurry to take our order. We ordered two apps, a salad and two meals. We had to ask the jittery waiter to remove the old plates between courses. When we had just barely finished our meal and thinking about dessert he abruptly came over and set the check down. Less than two minutes later an older woman came back to grab it. We explained that we were still talking and had not taken care of it yet. She mumbled something we could not understand. Less than 3 mins later she came back again and started gesturing towards the door. We finally understand she was asking us to leave. It seems that someone had just come in and she didn’t have a table. We were shocked. It was obvious most of the tables were about to turn over. In fact, another table opened up before we could pay and leave. I have spent countless of hours waiting for tables in my life and never once been asked to leave abruptly. Sadly the food was not nearly as good as it had been in the past, the prices were very high, the service was poor and the management was incredibly rude. Needless to say we will not be returning.
Good food, friendly service, easy parking
Recommend!!!
A gem on the main street of Atlantic Highlands, we will be back!
Excellent service, we tried 3 apps and 4 entrees from pad Thai to curry and every single dish was perfect! Three of the four main dishes had two spicy stars on the menu but were not really that spicy . Great portions also .
Each dish was so fresh and packed with flavor. Superior quality Thai food. Highly recommended.
One word, amazing. This place has amazing food, great ambiance, and friendly attentive staff. It's recommended to make a reservation but if you don't they have outdoor dining available for non reservations. The only potentially negative thing is you pay for the high quality food. I'd highly recommend this place if you are new to Thai food or would like to try authentic Thai food.
Cozy and warm set up.
Has a calm and soothing ambience.
Staff and owner are all very warm and friendly.
The meal was delicious
I had green curry shrimp soup with rice
3yr old and 8 year old had the fried rice
Husband had the fried tilapia.
Everyone enjoyed their meal.
Owner stops in frequently to check on their customers.
Will visit again if in the area.
Keep up the great team spirit.
Food was delicious! Went with my Dad on a busy Tuesday night and the food was amazing. The people were very attentive and the food was powered with flavor. This place is a like hidden gem, so go check it out if you haven't! Would definitely eat here again!
Nice cozy spot!
Dinner served in the garden- a work of love.
I love this place! I always order se ew chicken or the chicken fried rice. Soooo good! I also try one new menu item. I've been real happy. Foodvis always consistent. Highly recommend eating there.
Definitely best Thai restaurant in this area
Excellent food, staff, ambience. I am a repeat customer. Really creative and tasty selections.
Best thai food around!! Friendly and prompt service. Great atmosphere. We love it here!!
Excellent
Always great!
Delicious food, friendly service and substantial packaging.
I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. Not only is the food incredible, the owner, Kunya, is kind and loves her customers. Hands down best customer service I have ever witnessed.
The BEST Thai restaurant that I’ve ever been to! I’ve been going for over 10 years and I haven’t found anywhere better. I literally make a point to get food from here every time I’m back in the area!
lovely restaurant and great food
