Dining along and with a winter storm, it was nice to have Rearn Thai open and friendly. I was seated immediately with a menu. It's a very small restaurant - only three or four tables inside so the owner/manager/waiter could see I was ready.
Fresh spring rolls to start which were served with a small dish of peanut sauce. Interesting that one was a rice wrap and the other lettuce. More noodles and vegetables but yes, there were some shrimp in there.
Main course for me today was the Drunken Noodles with chicken. A good portion and the chicken was thoroughly cooked. Plenty of spice for medium, I enjoyed it. Most of the vegetables were still quite firm, making for a crunchy dish of noodles.
It was good, it was filling, and OK.
Ordered the Pad Preaw Wan. It’s supposed to be stir-fried but everything looked like it touched the pan for a minute at most. Vegetables were undercooked. Chicken had no flavour by itself.
I had to flavour from the sauce on everything. The food was a 5/10 because of the sauce’s flavour but it’s not something I would order again.
I was quoted 10 mins for the order but it came out in 6 mins. i would say that’s a plus but I wanted my food fried a little longer.
To speak about the service, no one was at the cashier’s front for about 5 mins.
Honestly, i am sorry to say it but food is not good. I asked for pad-thai shrimps and it came with chicken and shrimps, noodles were all cut in small pieces. It looks like tagliatelle pasta. I love thai food and this doesn’t even taste like thai food.
The fresh spring roll was difficult to eat (see pic).
The tom yum soup, came with just 2 shrimps in it.
Overall, no, i would not suggest this restaurant. It is cheap but not worthy.
Rearn Thai is one of those places we've known about for a while but just never had a chance to try it out. We finally did and ... were not impressed. We tried the Pad Gra Paow, Yellow Curry, and Chicken Satay. Nothing had much flavor. The curry tasted like it was watered down almost, there was just a hint of that yellow curry flavor. The chicken satay was not good. It had a very off putting flavor to it and we didn't finish them. Overall, there are much better Thai options throughout the STL area.
After reading some reviews I was hesitant but the food was delicious and service was fenomenal. Our glasses were always full. If you like spicy I recommend to ask for 4 or 5 out of 5 stars. Small place but it look clean and very nice. I took one star because we order extra rice and it cost 20% of the meal. Otherwise really really good place.
I ordered the drunken noodles and fried rice. The rice was good, basically just a less greasy version of the rice you can get at any STL "rice house." The drunken noodles were dry, bland, and easily the worst I've ever had - they should be a Thai staple and good at any restaurant that calls itself Thai cuisine. Would definitely recommend selecting any of a number of other Thai restaurants in the city.
I'm 100% Thai. I was ordering Panang curry, and it was okay; it wasn't a real Panang. Pad Thai was so dry, and it had no taste. Som Tum (papaya salad) had no flavor and looked old. The worst thing I can't imagine is that Yum Woon Sen smelled and tasted spoiled. I had to stop eating everything and throw them away.
Eating this food was an experience. I could picture the noodres being hand rolled and cut. So good. Made with love fasho.
My food was cold and the crab Rangoon was hard.

The best Thai I have had in the United States.
Got carryout for lunch, and it was awesome! I had the F3. Yellow Curry Fried Rice with Tofu (vegetarian) and loved it.

Lots of different foods on the menu. Taste good.
Authentic
Great price, sweet and sour chicken was very good loved the vegetables in it! The egg rolls were not traditional, which is fine, just different than we expected but they were tasty. Good price for a fast take out option
For the price, this place is pretty good. All of the meals were decently priced and I had the curry fried rice. The chicken was a bit bland but the fried rice was great. I would go back and try something else. Worth giving a chance regardless of the reviews.
Pad Thai: noodles over done and flavor fell flat. Needed more tamarind and fish sauce.
Panang curry: almost good. Needed more sugar and fish sauce.
Rangoons: skimpy on filling and fealt stale.
I feel like they don't really know the way to make the dish OR they're trying to westernise. Either way, not impressed and probably won't order from here again.
I got the Thom yum soup(Thai spicy), pad thai and chicken wontons…the wontons were thin but taste just wish they had more filling…pad thai was good but when I dropped it in the soup it was next level…good food
Worst Thai food I’ve ever had
Great service and food.
Don’t have any pictures, but this place is straight up nasty. Crab rangoons aren’t even crab rangoons. They’re flat and look like cookies
Honestly, i am sorry to say it but food is not good. I asked for pad-thai shrimps and it came with chicken and shrimps, noodles were all cut in small pieces. It looks like tagliatelle pasta. I love thai food and this doesn’t even taste like thai food.

Beautiful presentation but lacks flavor and taste. Politely mentioned to owner but he wasn’t interested in my feedback. So bland! Oddly the Pad Thai had no taste.
I was craving tom yum soup for lunch and found this place nearby in Clayton, where I work. I ordered spring rolls and tom yum noodles. I chose a 4 out of 5 "thai hot". The food was warm when arrived and the driver friendly. The noodles hit the spot, the only reason I deducted one star is because it was not spicy or hot as I expected. They provided one small packet of pepper but I would've preferred it to be a spicier level or provide more red pepper. I would order again and just be sure to ask for extra on the side.
DO NOT EAT HERE! I sent my food back after 1 bite, they took the food but said I still had to pay for it. I ordered Crab Rangoon to eat instead. I had to pay for that too.
I'm 100% Thai. I was ordering Panang curry, and it was okay; it wasn't a real Panang. Pad Thai was so dry, and it had no taste. Som Tum (papaya salad) had no flavor and looked old. Curry and fried rice are good. Wouldn't recommend pad thai.
Nope. I won’t eat it again. Not good.
Spring rolls are the width of a dime, curry was bland, couldn’t eat it—just threw it out.
My favorite Pad Thai in St. Louis!
Great food! The service was very quick! Pad see ew was very good and our drinks were always full. Highly recommend.
the food is very delicious and Very tasty food with Thai flavor.
I just don't understand what all the bad reviews are about this place. Look at my restaurant history and you'll see I've eaten a ton of Thai restaurants and I lived in Thailand for a year. There is not only nothing wrong with this food, but it's honestly really fresh and delicious. Not to mention they are always super accommodating of dietary restrictions. Sure there are some more flavorful restaurants out there, but for the price and quality of service, Rearn Thai is always one of my favorites. Very quality family owned restaurant, and they are open late too. 5/5
So I know I usually go here for the curry but it had a baby roach in it.. I mean I like my protein and all but I rather it not be a bug despite that it’s a ok place.
Fantastic Food! Made by the Best people!!
Great food, and wonderful service. Rangoons are a must, make sure to include in your order, it’s quite a treat.
Spending 2 years in Thailand, I would say this is one of the most authentic and delicious in the U.S.
Edible, but completely flavorless even if you choose the spiciest option.
Literally inedible takeout
We ordered yesterday and the spice level was totally different . Whenever we ordered we get correct spice level and totally delicious ones but yesterday spice level 3 and pad Thai was horrible. I think spice level 4 was added for spice level 3 and spice level 5 for spice level 4 . Pad Thai did not taste delicious at all
It was the perfect place for a light dinner while traveling. The choices were great. Food was fresh and perfectly seasoned.
Food is good, but the workers and owner are horrible at the slightest issue. We have ordered the same thing from them for over a year and they made it wrong once. When I asked if they would mind remaking it and I would bring up the original order they said I needed to pay for a whole new order and they would not remake it. I like the food, but unfortunately I will never order from here ever again.
Amazing Thai food and great service!
I ordered from Uber eats. The egg drop soup had chunks of chicken in it, I didn’t really care, but I don't thinks that’s normal, and was overly thick. The Pad Thai was probably the worst I’ve ever had, I can’t really describe why, but it was just bad. There was a big piece of fried egg on top(yes, I know egg comes with it), but it looked like a big flop of chicken skin. And the protein for the pad Thai was wrong. Will not order from here again.
I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but this was warranted. I saw this place on postmates and gave it a try. I ordered the Pad See Ew. It was just a dry pile of fettuccine noodles with random undercooked vegetables and like a tablespoon of pepper right on top. I’ve had this dish many times and this was not it. I thought maybe I got the wrong dish. But nope, the to go container was even labeled Pad See Ew. I tried to eat it but it was honestly disgusting. I also ordered the fried wontons. They were supposed to be filled with spiced chicken. There was maybe a teaspoon of filling in each wonton. I thought maybe it was a bad batch but then saw other reviews with the same thing. If you want Thai food, please just order from somewhere else. This was such a disappointment.
We ordered on door dash, and we were missing one of our main dishes. The pad thai was completely flavorless, which was surprising because it looked like it had spices on it. The meat on the pad thai wasn't seasoned either. The fried wonton practically had no filling. The crab rangoon had a very small amount of filling compared to how big the wontons are. The special fried rice had no flavor as well.
Excellent Thai food, we had the Shrimp and yellow curry. Quick turn around after initial order. Always has a smile when giving order !!
My sister and I loved this little hole in the wall place. The owners clearly take pride in their food and service. Great flavors. Relaxing casual and easy to find.
We wanted to try this place for a while. I can see some of the other reviewers point HOWEVER, I think you should still give them a little try - the Tom Yum soup is on point. Our red curry was perfectly fine as well. On top of that the prices are extremely fair esp. in clayton on top of that. The guy who runs it is super friendly and from the heart of bangkok
This place is the best
Excellent as always!!!
The chicken curry dishes are amazing. I've had the yellow green and red, the green is my favorite! Everything is reasonably priced as well. Only reason I didn't give them five Stars is because the appetizers are kind of weak. Other than that well worth it!
wouldn’t even consider this Thai food
The owner harasses people about parking in front of “His business” very rude and unprofessional.
Thai Chili fried rice. Order it.
The food was not good at all. I hate to leave negative reviews...but I would never order from here again. 😭
Pretty decent pad Thai. Takeout was super quick though. I called and it was ready in 10 minutes
One of my favorite Thai restaurants in St. Louis!!!!
Went there for lunch with a friend, Sat out on the patio and had a great lunch.
Great food and service on a cozy patio.
We got the Pad Thai and some curries. All were incredibly bland. Like, basically no flavor other than the natural flavors of the vegetables and the noodles. They did have great portion sizes, so we had plenty of leftovers, however, they've gone to waste because we just had no desire to eat any more. Our order was takeout, so I can't speak to the experience inside the restaurant.
Shrimp Sa-tay was good and its peanut sauce. Drunken noodles, they forgot to add sauce completely for my order and sent completely dry noodles and had to redo my noodles at home again.. no point ordering...I won't be ordering from them again..... so 1 star
Placed an order through doordash since our regular spot had closed for the evening. We got spring rolls, pad thai, drunken noodles, pad see ew, fried rice and one if their specialties - a pork and egg dish.
Pretty much everything was terrible. They are obviously using wheat pasta, not egg noodles, in the drunken noodles and pad see ew. It was actually hard to tell the two dishes apart.... Which is very weird since they usually have two completely different types of noodles and one was chicken one beef. The meat was flavorless and hard to find. Everything was just mush grease and salt. Pad Thai was oddly tart. Spring rolls tasted like nothing and were watery. The fried rice was actually the best part, not saying much since I took some chicken from another dish and doused it in soy sauce.
Also - everything arrived in styrofoam, which was half melted from the heat of the food... I am sure that's healthy.
This place was amazing! I’ve lived in St. Louis my whole life, but I just moved to University City & had never heard of Rearn Thai before. My brother and I were looking for a quick place to get carry out from and we stumbled across Rearn. It wasn’t too expensive, it was fast, and even though I had limited contact with their employees (because of COVID), the person who came out to deliver my food was so kind. Even in just the 30 seconds I saw them. The food was great & I will definitely be going back soon!
Unimpressive pad thai, dry satay.
Nasty, greasy food. Went with this restaurant because of the high Door Dash Ratings...very disappointed. The Pad Thai didn't even have a peanut sauce flavor, was very greasy, and you could tell that they don't clean the stove top by the dirty taste of the food. There are way better Thai options in the St. Louis Area then this place.
This is not Thai food. Either they got our order completely wrong, or have no idea what is listed on their menu. Pictured is the “Pad See U”, which is completely missing eggs, moisture, flavor, and has raw onions, baby corn, carrots and peppers for some reason. Absolutely dreadful. At least they remembered to throw some basil into the drunken noodles (which was basically a second box of the pictured noodles). I’m mostly disappointed that no one could turn these two boxes of ingredients into something worth eating.
Absolutely the worst Thai food that I've ever eaten in my life. There was literally something substantially wrong with every item ordered.
-Chicken satay: Completely flavorless
-Curry Noodles: Ordered "medium" and received "spicy". The sauce was watery (dripping!) and contained only trace amounts of flavor.
-Chicken Pad Thai: The tofu was overcooked and the chicken was once again bland.
-Egg Rolls: Obviously old and double-fried. Sadly this was probably the best thing we ordered.
-Wontons: Next to no filling and also double-fried.
This was our first time and last time doing business with this restaurant. Would not recommend....Seriously lousy.
Very disappointed. Went with this restaurant because of the great ratings on Door Dash. As you can see, the box was completely broken down on the bottom.
I ordered Pad See U. It was bland, oily and had random bunches of pepper thrown in (as seen in the picture)!
Save your money, go anywhere else.
Great Tom Kha. Also enjoy their curry dishes
Very good 👍
Ordered Drunken Noodles delivered through DoorDash. Very, very bland. Not what I expect from this dish! It had a little red pepper added for heat but not the depth of flavor I associate with Thai noodles. I'm also used to rice noodles not wheat noodles. I'll give them 2 stars because their other food might be better. But I was disappointed.
Great food, reasonable prices, rarely a wait.
One of the best Thai restaurant in St.Louis
I eat here at least once a week. If I can, much more often. It's the best thai in St. Louis. Nothing else to say really.. it's perfect, every single time.
Great food love the special fried rice
Fried Wontons had little to no filling in them. Chicken SA-Tay was completely dry and tasteless. My Thai fried rice with chicken and veggies was 97% rice that tasted like plain white steamed rice, 2% veggies and we only counted 9 small pieces of meat.
This a one and done for me. I should of believed other reviews.
Fast & courteous for online/delivery orders!
Crab rangoons were not filled. They were just fried wontons. Also ordered pad Thai. Did not have any flavour salt, sweet, or spicy . The pad Thai tasted like burnt grease. Save your money and go somewhere else, disappointed I wasted money ordering at this place
Great food, owners are great guys!
Very friendly and professional staff.
Bland, sour, chewey, and greasy. Just a few words to describe my disappointment in my food. Pad Thai had no egg in it, chicken was dry, and bean sprouts tasted old and sour. The fried tofu was just outright bad. Looks and feels like french fries with absolutely no taste unless you enjoy eating cardboard.
Highly disappointed and definitely will not eat here ever again.
Ordered Pad See Ew, Crispy Spring Rolls and Fresh Spring Rolls through DoorDash. The review is somewhat saved w/ 2 stars because the crispy spring rolls were good.
Pad See Ew lacked flavor and felt like fettuccine noodles.
The fresh spring rolls were 80% noodles and so poorly wrapped. Didn't bother to finish these.
Initially ordered here because Thai 202 and My Thai disappeared from DoorDash.. Gotta bring them back.
Consistent food all the time. Good service
Serve too slow and food alright
Ordered on Door Dash. Was fast and was hot, but kinda bland and the crab rangoons were massive but only had about a teaspoon of filling. One bite of filling and then all shell. Kinda disappointing. I’d eat it again but I’ll take Basil Spice over Rearn any day.
Not good. Really looking for Chicago cooking style
Come here at least once a month for the excellent food and service!
Ordered pad Thai and pad see ew. No flavor, full of msg.
Awesome food and great portions for the money!
I'm a thai food lover. The pros and the cons:
Pros: Thom Yum Soup is amazing- get it with tofu. The tofu is great. The egg rolls are decent. The service for takeout was good. Price was decent. Vegetables were good. The spice was good.
Cons: Chicken doesn't have a whole lot of flavor, I would definitely get the tofu instead of the chicken on the Pad Kao Prao.
Overall was good- give the place a chance. (:
Ordered delivery. 2 currys. Pad see ew. In spice and flavor everything tastes like cheap Chinese food. Not a hint of coconut anywhere. Incredibly msg heavy, if not msg then that one Chinese pepper that swells your toung. Veggies we're ok. Nothing more disappointing than bad Curry.
We have tried delivery twice from this place. Both times we did not receive a correct order and food was not good. Other Thai places in the city are much tastier. Do not get the Crab Rangoon......and the supposedly spicy dishes did not have any spice to them.
Favorite Thai restaurant in metro St. Louis. Order the sticky rice and mango for dessert. Simply perfect.
Very good Thai food. Very quick lunch too.
Tom Kha soup was ok. The chicken pad Thai was awful. Greasy and no flavor. Service was efficient but absolutely zero on the friendly scale. No personality or ambience,.
Got Postmates and ended up very disappointed with the Pad See Ew, as the dish had heat but lacked any other depth of flavor. Also, someone else mentioned the noodles seemed like wheat fettuccine, and I have to agree. Did not look like the very broad and chewy rice noodle I was expecting. Veggies were crisp and not over cooked, but unfortunately that’s about the only positive I can think of. Thai iced tea was fine, but not much room to go wrong there. Based on this dish, would not order again.
The food was very good
It's okay. A little tasteless.
Ingredients were not fresh
Bad Crab Rangoon and tofu. Decent pad thai
Amazing Place!
I just tried this place for the first time. I'll start off with the good -- their beef is high quality and so were the veggies. Now the bad -- I ordered shrimp spring rolls and they were about $2 more than other restaurants and each one was the length of my index finger. They were too wet and fell apart before I could even pick them up...so don't order those because they don't know how to prep them. Also, everything was priced higher than any other Thai place that I have tried and the overall flavor was rather bland.
Very good food and excellent service. My group frequents Thai cuisine and found this food very good but not excellent. Still, we cleaned our plates!
One star may not accurately describe our disappointment. The noodles were seemingly wheat fettuccine noodles and the vegetables were steamed and placed on the noodles and sadly the dish had no flavor. One other dish we received had a ton of spiciness, but no other flavor. Perhaps this chef hails a different region of Thailand and therefore the difference from most other Thai food I have eaten across the country.
Awesome lunch!
The Tom Yum Noodle Soup here is AMAZING! I've tried this dish at other places all over the US and nothing ever compares. Everything I have ever tried here is very tasty. I like very spicy food and I usually get spice level 3, sometimes 4. A 5 will light you up!
Good food. Good service.
This is the first review I've ever written, so just know this food is bad enough to push me to this point. I'm not a picky eater, but this is officially the worst Thai food I've ever had. There was no flavor, the noodles were soggy, and it tasted like cardboard mildly brushed with soy sauce. The rice was decent, but this place is not capable of making real Thai food. I should have stayed at home and ate my Ramen noodles, I would have been much more content.
I am so sorry to have to do this but i should have listened to these reviews. This thai food is so bland and it may be delicious to the untrained eye but this is BLAND. I ordered the green curry and vegetable curry (came with red curry) and both were excellentely spicy like i wanted but it was just so flavorless. I am so dissappointed I spent $25 on this. Please take this as constructive critism and not hate if you want to stay in business.
Best Thai food around.
Went in for lunch, food was not fresh, service was S L O W-- and I was the only customer.
Great food, great service, great location. I frequent this place and will continue to do so!
Best Thai food in the STL!
Good food in an intimate space.
Fantastic Thai food
Quick and good service. It is a great option in downtown Clayton, where everything is overpriced and under delivers. It is not authentic, it is a Thai place that give the people of the area what they usually want.
Fifteen bucks for lunch, should have gone somewhere else
Good food
Food was great and it's quiet and nice
Not a huge fan of Thai food, but the ladies I work with love this place. Maybe because it's so close to our office? The items I've tried are good, though.
A FRIKIN mazing
Had lunch on the patio and it was quick and tasty. I had the panang with chicken, medium hot spiciness, and fried tofu as an appetizer. The curry was flavorful and the heat didn't over power the flavor of the spice. Like most Thai food places, if you ask for them to kick up the heat they can accommodate to your palate.
This was my first time at Rearn, I'll have to go back, maybe then I'll give them 5 stars.
Great curry, good apps
THE most bland/expensive Red Curry I have ever had in my life and I am a Thai food junkie!
Also, the crab rangoon were all bread and had zero crab in them. Was hoping for better.
The service was excellent and the food was to die for. If I ever want authentic Thai food, this is my go-to place.
Love Thai food. Not a fan of theirs or of being yelled at by wait staff. Our appetizers arrived cold and tasted like they came out of a freezer bag and were reheated from earlier. Our entrees arrived bland and tasteless. The beef in my entree was inedibly chewy and cooked to the point that it had the texture of shoe leather (as if it had been microwaved). After two bites, I asked the waiter to take it because it was bad. When I got the check he had charged me $14 for the entree. When I asked if he could remove the entree from the check, he yelled at me.
He told me that, "I should have eaten it to be polite," that maybe I didn't know Thai food and had no right to say it was bad. I told him that I am more than familiar with Thai food as I have been to Thailand and have eaten at just about every Thai establishment in town. I politely apologized for the hassle and told him that I did not intend to argue with him. As I walked out the front door (we were seated outside) he followed me yelling unprofessionally that I was making an excuse not to tip him and that he was offended. The truth, I had intended to tip him regardless of the bad service and worse food, just to be polite. That was until he yelled at me!
I had to sign in to tell you all how bad this place is. If you want bland, over Americanized, flavorless food then this is your place. This has to be BY FAR the worst thai food I've ever eaten. The thing this, this place isn't even inexpensive! PLEASE DON'T GO THERE.
To top it off, the went to the wrong house for delivery. You'll be better off trying your hand at thai food instead of going here. I am still quite livid with the food and service I got.
