My wife and I love Kabuki. It's our favorite sushi place, eating there for years. The staff know us really well. Great food, great service and a great atmosphere. I enjoy it and you will too.

Some awesome sushi here. Firenado and Snow Mountain are my favorites, but Shrimp Lovers is good, too. Chicken Katsu is great. Yellow curry is good but just a little thin - just a little! So far everything we've had from here has been very good.

A friend of mine recommended this place as one of the best Thai curries in the St. louis area. I was skeptical, but I tried the green curry w/ chicken while my friend tried the red curry w/ shrimp. This place did not disappoint both Thai curries were amazing. The servings were large and the wait staff friendly. This is now my go-to spot for Thai curry. I can't wait to try them all and the sushi looked awesome too.

This is the best sushi place in my opinion. They even do an all you can eat sushi which is normally at cheaper restaurants but this is a nice place and they have the all you can eat for the same price I've seen other places. Very fresh and fast service. Friendly servers and hosts. Delicious food!

this is one of my favorite restaurants that I often get takeout from, but rarely dine in - for my birthday i convinced my parents (who aren't very familiar with east asian cuisine) to accompany me to dine in. They were a bit hesitant but the staff were very helpful and patient with them, and helped explain what they ordered. The food was delicious, and my picky parents were extremely impressed and eager to come back to try more unfamiliar dishes. I wish I could have properly thanked the staff. KS&T never disappoints, PLEASE give them your business, you won't regret it.

We ordered chicken katsu (kabuki's chicken katsu is my absolute comfort food), general tsao's chicken, a mixed appetizer plate (as a main dish), edamame, and crab rangoon. all were devoured eagerly. The two main dishes came with tasty vegies and wonderful miso.

I have eaten here multiple times and have always enjoyed their food. The last couple of times were take-out but again great food. I am repeatedly disappointed that the restaurant never seems busy. I hope the take-out business is propping it up.

They always have my order prepared quickly and correct. This is my go to for a quick lunch or when my wife and I don’t feel like cooking. Love the hand rolls and sashimi over rice.

I ordered 3 separate items ..beef Pad see ew , crab Rangoon , fried Philly roll and fried Cali roll and literally NOTHING has any type of flavor . It’s bizarre .

The ayce sushi is a really good deal

Ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi, as well as the shrimp only hibachi. Not only was it an incredibly small potion NOT worth $22, but It lacked flavor and the shrimp were the most over cooked seafood I believe I've ever had. It has the consistency of chicken. Very very disappointing concidering we spent $60 on two entrees and crab Rangoon. Would not eat there again.

I had the Tom kha with shrimp, red curry with vegetables, crab Rangoon and general tso chicken. The Tom kha was lacking in flavor and the shrimp were extremely over done. The red curry was also very bland which is something curry should never be. We did enjoy the general tso chicken but the crab Rangoon were a miss. I would not order Thai food from this place again.

While it is a cheap all you can eat sushi, the food itself was very cheap. The rolls were mostly filled with rice, and the service was slightly awkward.However, the music was a vibe. Was an okay experience.

I ordered 3 roles to start with and thought to myself, I could eat 3 more. That was my big mistake, though, as each piece contained 70% rice with extra chambers made inside the piece to fit more rice. They try to trap you and make you have to pay for the extra pieces while getting you full quickly with rice.

I understand it is all you can eat sushi, but the sushi is just almost 80% rice, and the salmon and tuna smelled weird and there was dark spots in the meat. I would not recommend this experience to anyone. I feel sick leaving this place right now.

My favorite restraunt. It's small and cozy. And they're the only restraunt I've found that does the yellowtail jalapeno roll which has become my all time favorite sushi. The staff is wonderful and the service is always great.

Awesome customer service, he knew the menu very well. Made a few great suggestions. Unfortunately one item was confusing and disappointing. The menu said "japanese sticky wings" but they didn't contain any sticky sauce as you would think. Just plain old semi burnt wings, nothing fancy. I'll definitely return but promise not to try these again.

I did not even know I liked sushi until I ate here

We absolutely love coming here. Everyone is nice, food is quick, and everything always tastes delicious! I have always liked everything they serve, and we did the unlimited sushi one night. I tried several new rolls and all were good! The Sakura roll is amazing, and the jalapeno yellowtail is probably my favorite Maki roll. Their portions are really nice and everything is filling. And usually I'll order extras to take home and it doesn't break the bank. 100% my favorite restaurant.

I absolutely love Kabuki. It's one of my favorite restaurants in St. Louis and my go to spot for sushi, although their non-sushi options are also fantastic. The Kabuki fried rice, Japanese Curry and miso soup are all excellent. I recommend being adventurous here and trying new things, because every time I do I'm very pleasantly surprised. Definitely try out the cocktails from their cocktail menu as they are very good.
The service is always fantastic (the owner is always present and attentive) and the food comes out very quickly. When I order carry out, I leave my house almost immediately after ordering and by the time I get to Kabuki ten minutes later my food is usually ready.

The people there were so nice and the food was exquisite there. Very friendly and the food came out quick. Definitely worth coming and I recommend stoping by this place.

Slowest place ever, waited an hour and never got my food while everyone else got served. They the waiter got upset that we were leaving.

Worst service ever! Sat at table for 45 minutes (with just 1 drink that we had to wait 20 minutes to get) only to find out they hadn’t even started our order. Meanwhile, every other table got served food and drinks! And then to top it off, after cancelling our order and going to leave, they had the nerve to charge us for our 2 drinks! Will NEVER go back again!

The food was delicious ! I had crab Rangoon and Masaman curry. My wife had the spicy tuna roll and Thai Basil shrimp. Everything was excellent. The servers were extremely busy but managed to make sure we were served quickly and that we were doing well.

The staff seemed annoyed we stayed to socialize. It was the middle of the day, plenty of open tables, but we kept getting side-eyes. They didn't offer to refill my water until they finally decided to refill my friend's soda (half-way) and I had to ask. Very strange behavior from the hostess, I felt she really struggled with my appearance. Good food, but won't return.

They tell you to eat all your food or they charge you per piece but can bring the food out in proper order. Worst place ever do not eat there. So may better quality places in Ballwin.

I used to like this place; however, my food tonight tasted like cleaning products. My mom and me are violently sick from it. They said to bring the food back if we want a refund, yet I've already thrown the food away and both my mom and me are too sick to drive. This has ruined my experience for sushi!

Almost all the rolls we ordered were fried. Yuck. My friend got sick from the sushi rolls. Overpriced cheap ingredients. Won't be back.

Saturday evening visit. We had no wait for a seat, service was very fast and friendly.

I had the All you can eat Sushi ($20 Jan/2020). The All you can eat menu is some what limited, compared to the Ala-cart Sushi menu. None the less I got my fill and was quite pleased with the selection. I had 5 sushi rolls in total and an order of Shumai to start. For the Sushi I had the Super Duper Roll, Salmon Skin Roll, Spider Roll, Crazy Ball Roll and the Futo Maki Roll. They were all very good, The Spider Roll probably being my favorite.

My companion had the Chicken Pad Thai, which is also very good, and a very large portion, enough so to have a filling breakfast the next day.

We have visited Kabuki on numerous occasions, and will definitely return again.

Update: 01/01/2023. Ordered takeout, had a few minutes wait for our order, but they packed full of people. Food was great as usual.

Normally it’s good but this time I got quit a bit of sushi and they barely gave me 4 pieces of ginger and I ordered a sauce and this is the amount they gave me. I paid extra for it. This is before the meal. Looks like after.

the food was decent which is why this gets three stars. the service was not great, it was ridiculously slow which was weird because there were two tables, one of them was us and the other was another couple. i’m a very patient person too. the music was HORRIBLE! it’s just a bunch of covers of annoying popular songs sing by people who canNOT sing. on top of that, the songs are on a loop and there is only 6 of them. it was awful. like i said though, the food was good and decently priced, so i would recommend takeout.

Wow, what a menu! We went for lunch and had sushi, a bento box, and tender udon noodles with chicken and vegetables. Our lunches came with miso soup and crispy salad. The service was quick and friendly, and all of the food was fresh and delicious. I've driven by this location many times, and I'm so glad we finally went inside!

I orderd food for collection and when I got home the rice portions were small like x2 table spoon full, the yellow chicken curry was full of onions and very spicy and watery, and the shumai was very rubbery hardly any flavour I would be very cautious.

The previous owners were wonderful. The food was top tier along with the service. They still have friendly wait staff and decent sushi, but they aren’t nearly as attentive, will get orders wrong and even charge you for little things, like sides of sauces, which says a lot.

Kabuki is my absolute favorite sushi place to eat in STL. Their prices are great and the menu has a lot of options other than sushi, so it’s great for groups that have different tastes! I’ve never been disappointed. Definitely try it next time you’re near by.

This place used to be decent a year ago. Not sure how it’s gone downhill so badly unless a change a ownership. Yes, it’s pretty bad when the tempura batter is so thick that the vegetables become not the main ingredient but the batter itself. Batter is suppose to be light and airy, not doughy. Sushi rolls subpar, nothing memorable to talk about.

Look, i personally don’t understand all the hate that Kabuki is getting. It is my family’s go-to sushi restaurant, we know the servers by name and they know us. Never in my probably 6 years of going here have i had a bad experience. Price is going up a little as expected, but the quality is very constantly good.

Have you ever wasted $35 on food that is inedible? I just did. Trust me, go elsewhere.

Never had sushi I couldn't eat and I've gotten gas station sushi in Barnheart MO...until now. The rubbery nori (seaweed) was just too difficult to eat.

I called to let them know about the inedible nori and was told I should try the sushi that doesn't have nori. I think next time I'll try the sushi made somewhere else.

Called about a roll I picked up near the end of closing time. It was not normal quality at all. Spongy spider roll. When I called, I was passed around to several people. They finally told me to bring it back the next day. Who has time for that? In the trash. I’ll do Nippon Tei next time. This place used to do a great job, but it’s not the same anymore.

I'm sorry to say that over the past year & ½ or so this place started going down on quality while going up in price.
The all you can eat, as you can see from photos, had so much EXTRA rice on them.. not just in them, but re-rolled with more rice 😳
When we would come here before the rolls were beautiful and photo worthy.. Quality was top notch.
I understand the game they are playing, but to make all the "All you can eat Rolls" come with all that rice and not like the rest of the menu is just cheating customers out of a good sushi experience.
Not to mention the Edamame that we ordered, was not out before our Miso soup, & not out before our sushi...
To the owner: I don't need an apology, I hope you can get things back to the way they used to be.

Very pricey for what you get, they are almost half of a regular roll from anywhere else and double the price. Generally tastes good, but jamming all of the sushi into one container causes them to become soggy/mushy and the wasabi and ginger gets everywhere (not cool when I don't eat either). I've eaten here twice to see if anything was different after the first order, and it wasn't.

I think the 4 star rating here is fair. It is good sushi, but not 5 star worthy. The gyoza was very good.

I was a bit suspicious of their $13 lunch all you can eat sushi but I wanted to try them out to compare to Sushi Ai. First let down: you can only get rolls as part of the all you can eat. Craving nigiri sushi and wanting to try them out, I ordered some fatty tuna. If you’ve had it, you know it should practically melt in your mouth given it’s rich fat content. Instead, I received chewy, gamey maguro. It was still marbled with fat but it looked and tasted a bit off.

Service was fine given that it was a Monday afternoon during the pandemic but prices were also increased to $15 which would still have been a good deal if the food was quality.

Final verdict when it comes to sushi: at the same price point, Sushi Ai is the place to go

Had Bento boxes for lunch and every element was really good. Also reasonably priced, including a salad and soup. We'll be back!
