First time at this place. We ordered their Pad Thai, $5 boat noodle, pho, eggrolls, fish patties, fried rice, green curry, hot wings (didn’t get a photo of it). We wanted some wontons and pad kra pao too but they were out of these two items. Service was a bit slow (but they already gave us a heads up when we got there so we expected it). Everything we ordered was really good minus the pho (pho didn’t have much flavor). Price was very reasonable. Portion was a pretty good amount. Very happy with the food and will be going back for more soon.
True to name, dishes ordered hot or xtra spicy actually spicy. Papapa salad- $13 for some veggie shreds? However, big portion and good flavors. Worth it. Not too sweet sour or salty. Can taste padek but not in bad way. Pad krapao seafood- seafood perfectly cooked but small portion. Flavor n heat perfect. If starving, prob opt for other meat. $5 mini boat noodles- pretty full off 2. Each bowl prob 4 biter, few meat pieces. Had all 4 types of noodles. Ramen soaked least broth. Rice noodles bit too cooked/soft for liking. Not huge fan of boat noodles but enjoyed flavors tho Pho still life. Will try theirs next time.
I was excited to try this place out. It'll be my first and last time. The Pho was a little too salty for our liking, but it was at the end of the night, so that could've been the reason. The Pad se ew had no flavor. I honestly thought they forgot to add seasoning and took it back to them. The cooks stated that was how it was made. I don't recommend it. I don't like eating a lot of salt in my food, and these noodles taste like it had no salt or sauces on it. Try it at your own risk and tell me it was just an off night.
Ya know. From my understanding, this place has gone through some waves. I haven't tried it yet but when I went today, 10/08/24, it was good!
Karen/thai style, so it has a hint of sweet to it.
We ordered:
Boat noodle 9/10 - Good broth. A lot of noodles. Quality was pretty good and I've had boat noodles from around the cities.
Chicken wings. Great dipping sauce. Their batter was a bit crunchy, but it tasted fresh. Not day old and or refried.
Pad kra paw 8/10 - Simple, not over powered. Some places either have too much salt or too much veggies/meat. It was a good mix and the sauce was simple.
Fried Spring rolls 7/10 - it has meat! Not a lot of places will have meat in their eggrolls. This place has it. It goes great with that chicken wing sauce!
And an off menu, raw laab 8/10 - special order
They don't make it, so you will have to beg. Good seasoning, a hint of sweet to it, and spicy. No other way to eat laab.
Overall, 8/10
I didn't have a bad time and the food was good. The pepper dipping sauce was GREAT with the chicken wings, eegrolls, and I even poured it over my pad kra pow. The boat noodle broth was pretty good. Deep flavor and by the looks of it, real blood. A must. Eggrolls was typical in flavor, but it has noodles and meat, cabbage and carrots. Not one over powered the other. Skin crispy and I dipped it into the chicken wing sauce. The side dish, raw laab, was a special request and it was not bad! Spicy, sweet. Loaded with herbs and a bit of sour which is legitness. I would come back.
New place still getting things together.
The service is friendly.
The boat noodle broth is very thick, has enough flavors, but may need to just add a little more flavor or spice to your liking.
Cream cheese is very creamy, can cook it a tab bit longer to make it more crispy, but that's just my preference.
Overall it was good, and I am sure they will get better. I would come by with some friends to eat here again.
The service is quick and good. Just wanted to try the boat noodle! The portion is generous for an XL. My first and only impression was that I thought it was salty. That's coming from someone who usually adds more salt or fish sauce to my food too. It lacks the depth and aroma of the herbs you can taste from the original karen thai&friends cafe.
Cashier/waitress greeted right away and told us from across the room to seat anywhere. Water was given quick. And our food came fairly quick within 15-20 minutes. However, our food came warm.
Their pho broth was mediocre. It tasted similar to instant pho paste. When taken a whole bite of pho noodles and meat, there was no flavor. It was disappointing. There was a great variety of meat; beef brisket, meat ball, and sliced beef.
The wontons would be a hit because there’s lots of people who love a lot of cream and it being sweet, however the wontons came out room temperature and the wrapper got tough to chew and there’s so much oil residue in the cream.
The roast pork basil stir-fried would be a hit too, if it wasn’t so salty. Maybe the roast pork was seasoned already, but even eating it with rice did not subside the saltiness. Loved the sunny sided up eggs.
The banh mi.. picture speaks for itself. I did not enjoy it. The bread was very dry and there was only mayo. I ordered the combo and menu said it comes with meat ball but only had thin deli meat and meat loaf.
I would say food is lacking flavor. Our main dishes was ok. Nothing special that would make me want come back, try a new dish and give it another try. We had 3 appetizer that shared the same type of sauce. Not much creativity, the very basic chicken wing wasnt even a okay hit.
Please stop putting peppers everything like sauce and on dish especially it says only mild spicy. Second time all my foods so spicy alpt of peppers. When I asked for mild spicy shouldn't this hot.

Just had the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had. Portion was huge flavor was on point. I’ll be back
Amazing service delicious boat noodles and other foods. Great staff and cleanliness is well.
High quality dishes, including delicious green curry, chicken satay, and spring rolls. Convenient location and great food, highly recommend!
There are so many better options around the Saint Paul area. Pho was overly salty and didn't have a good taste. Tried this place twice and got disappointed twice. You can roll the dice, but I would rather be at Cheng Heng or Bangkok Deli.
The pho noodles were chewie and thick

I only had chicken pak ka pao so can't say much for food, the dish was good. I said medium spice and they got it right on the spot. The food came out fast and hot.
Service was okay. Only got greeted by the waitress once, maybe they could come check on the customer one more time during meal.
When I eat here I feel right at home. Might be because of the LOUD t.v that is playing in the background.
Recently came here not long ago and I would say that it wasn't bad. I did have to wait a longer for my food with the fact that I was with a bigger group but the server did made sure that everybody got what they ordered. I personally ordered pad kra pao with no spice and stuffed tofu. The pad kra pao was good and tad more on the sweet side. The stuffed tofu seem to have fried onion, garlic, and peanut as stuffing with a sauce on top. I would personally rate it a 3.5/5 for the stuffed tofu. The pad see ew lacks some saltiness to me but the flavor is still there same with fried rice but the pad see ew has more flavor. Fried chicken is as good. TOTALLY recommend the wontons though, the wonton is actually filled and the cream cheese has a nice texture to it so if you rip the wonton to dip you actually get cream cheese with the wrapper and not just the wrapper itself.

Food was great service was fast and great. The place just open not to recent so they are doing their best with tables and booths. This place is great and highly recommended
Fantastic Egg Rolls. I work at Liberty Tax across the street and look forward to having egg rolls for lunch. Thanks :)

My first time eating at this restaurant. I ordered Pad Kra Pao and devoured that shi. Food was finger licking good and staff were very friendly. Definitely recommend!
Boat noodle is hands down one of the best in St. paul at the moment! Dark, bold, and beefy!
This place is a must go to. So far all the foods I’ve tried were good. Especially the pad kra pao. Best I’ve had. They don’t disappoint. Staff were very friendly. I would 100% recommend this place.
Been here a couple times since they’ve opened in November and food is saur slay. I recommend ordering off their Thai/Karen menu.
Food are good and the Saff are the friendliest definitely would recommend!
