Authentic Thai food in the heart of Uptown Minneapolis! Great for groups, birthdays, date night, family meals, and takeout. Lunch specials and happy hour now available!
It's been a long time since I've been back to the restaurant after covid 19. The restaurant used to be very crowded. Recently, my husband and I went on the weekend and the restaurant wasn't very crowded. The food was very delicious. The price was reasonable. The waiters were very friendly and cheerful. The restaurant was very clean. I will come back more often.
I had an amazing meal yesterday. FYI - The restaurant does have a service charge. If you don’t like it too sweet, you can request for no sugar or less sweet. Our meal was amazing last night.
Shrimp & chicken spring rolls 8/10 It was delicious.
Sai Oua 10/10 It’s a Thai herbal sausage. You can taste all the spices and herbal such as lemongrass, ginger, galangal etc. sausage was not dry. It was great!
Papaya salad (Lao style) 10/10 so good, so delicious. The fish paste that was in it is not too strong. I like it less tamarind and this was good!
Crying tiger 10/10 the steak was cooked to a medium perfectly. The dipping sauce that comes with it was delicious.
Pricing is definitely on the higher side, but for the portion you get, the taste, service was really great. I always come back and recommend people to come eat here.
This place used to be my absolute favorite! We used to order the drunken noodle, Thai fried rice, Jalepeni wontons, and Tom kha and Tom yum soup like every single week. It had been a few months, but this week we dined in and were disappointed in portions. Normally we can only finish half of an entree and eat it all week long. This time I ate all my Tom yum in during that meal. When I ordered tom saap with ribs ($19) it was HALF the size the soups used to be. Super disappointed. When I tried to add woodear mushrooms to my meal- as I always used to do- I was told they could only put them on the side and not in my soup. When I agreed, I was given baby bella mushrooms on the side and told that they haven’t served that ingredient and it’s only for specials? The waitress was so sweet but the building was mostly empty. So sad about the serving sizes and no price change. Insane. I’ll miss this place when it was in its prime
What happened to this place? I used to eat here once a week, it was my favorite! Now the food quality isn't great and the super small portions are ridiculous. It's half the size for the same price! You can see in the pics the meal is small compared to the eggroll and soda can. Time to move on
Great atmosphere, new menu is fantastic. Not sure if there is a new chef but the food we had last was AWESOME. The Panang Curry with beef was to die for. Incredible service, we had paused going here for a bit as it always felt a little subpar for the price but this past time going was phenomenal and we will be back regularly. Kudos!
Sad to say this is the Worst pad Thai I’ve ever had. I ordered vegetable pad Thai. There were NO vegetables in it. None. Just a clump of noodles with a few bean sprouts scattered on top. Barely any egg in it. Not even good flavoring. Pad Thai is typically my favorite thai menu- I wouldn’t even consider this pad Thai.
Pad thai was served with lemon instead of lime. That's all you need to know. Why!? 😭
I had a severe case of food poisoning after having their drunken noodles with tofu.
This has been one of our favorites for a long time. They did a great job with our Valentine’s Day reservation and even had the cute touch of taking an instant photo for us.
Edited: 2.16.25 Loved getting delivery from this place for a long time. They made food that tasted like real Thai. I'm sure we've spent thousands here over several years. Management is killing this place. They completely botched our last order. Wrong sauces, poorly cooked and bad flavors. When I called seeking resolution the female manager just started arguing with me and refused any responsibility. It was 'my fault' she said. Other reviewer have commented on argumentative management. They started to slide in quality and portion size recently, but for us, argumentative managers that refuse to accept responsibility to a loyal customer is the final straw. It was really good, until it wasn't. We are done with this once favorite spot.
The food was delicious per usual. Although, I was slightly disappointed with the Pineapple Fried Rice as there were almost no pineapple. In addition, the cream cheese wontons were not spectacular this time around as there was very little cream cheese and the remainder of the wontons were difficult to bite into and were too chewy. Overall, Amazing Thailand did not disappoint! The Pineapple Fried Rice and the Druken Noodle were excellent and delicious despite the pineapple shortage. Also, the portions are very generous. The service was excellent and the food was prepared in a timely fashion.
Kudos!
Just not the same anymore. & the dish they were known for (amazing Thai fried rice) with every protein including seafood is no longer on the menu now you have to pay for every meat separately which is absolutely insane since the portions are absolutely already small. Wow so disappointed in the decline of this restaurant.
It has been disheartening to see the decline of one of my old favorites. Portions down/price up can be said about most places at this point, but the quality of the food has become my main gripe and why I have been ordering less and less. I do still order from time to time because of proximity/convenience (just a few blocks away) and more often regret it. The last few times have been disappointing. How hard is it to not mess up pad thai, the most popular dish on the menu? Add in scant portions/ratios (when ordering tofu it becomes OOPS ALL TOFU), and watery curry (seriously, the viscosity of curry should not be like pouring a glass of water) and it just isn't doing it for me.
Ordered takeout, the curry was subpar and not their usual recipe or up to their usual standards. To the point no one would eat it--inedible. I called in the following day and spoke to the "manager" who refused to rectify the issue by remaking the order for me (claiming the recipe had not changed, and therefore I was incorrect about it being off/bad). Very dismissive. I order takeout from them about every 2-3 weeks. I asked them if it was worth losing a customer over, she said that it was. I would suggest taking your business elsewhere where they care about quality and service and the customer experience.
We got delivery from here tonight via Uber eats. Our order was for vegetarian spring rolls, chicken satay, Pad Se Ew and Pad Thai. The spring rolls were on the small side and mediocre. Having to skimp on veggies and noodles doesn't make much sense as these are cheap ingredients. The chicken satay tasted pretty good but an order was supposed to be 6 skewers per thier website and only 5 were in the box, two of the 5 were roughly 2 inches long. The bag was stapled shut so it wasn't an issue with the driver. This would have been comical if it was someone else's dinner. The Pad Thai wasn't bad but also wasn't great and the noodles weren't a normal noodle used in Pad Thai and a lemon wedge was sent with instead of a lime. Is this normal? My girlfriend had the Pad Se Ew and she liked it so there's that.
We routinely make the drive from Saint Cloud just for this restaurant. When we moved from the Seattle area, we were concerned we wouldn't find a good Thai restaurant. This place exceeded all expectations and we will continue to be loyal customers.

Best Thai food in Minneapolis. Unfortunately portions have gotten quite small and prices have gone up.
I’ve been coming here for 10 years. The food and portions sizes used to be amazing; not so much anymore. For special occasions they used to give out deep fried ice-cream, it’s not even on the menu anymore. Their mango sticky rice used to also be a favorite of mine (it played with temperatures, the rice was warm and the mango was cold), now it tastes prepared, all one temperature. I have to find a replacement restaurant :(
Sad to say this is the Worst pad Thai I’ve ever had.
I ordered the pad Thai, spring rolls and drunken noodle- each were sooooo subpar in flavor. No veggies in the pad Thai and only cabbage in the drunken noodle. No herbs 😬 the pad Thai I swear was spaghetti. The blandest Thai food I’ve ever had. I would be EMBARRASSED to serve this I do enjoy the happy hour in summer on the patio.
The food was great - I ordered from Uber Eats so no dine in - but I felt that I paid a lot of money ($27) for not very much food. I got the pad Thai, which was a fairly good amount, but the mango sticky rice for $12 was really just a small side size and I felt it should have been larger for that amount, or a lower price for the size of the dish.
I used to come here at least once a month. The only place I could get vegan thom kha soup. They also had the best spring rolls in the city. Then a while back the portion sizes got cut in half. The food was still the same though so I put up with it for a while. Now the portions are not only half as big, they taste half as good. I think I just ate my last meal there. If you have never been here before, you might enjoy it. The food is still decent and it's a great room. But it used to be Amazing. Thanks for all the good times and great meals, but it's time to say goodbye.

Best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand.
Wow all the reviews about skimpy takeout portions are totally correct. I could not believe I paid $17 before tax for this portion of panang curry with chicken. Also, the container size is smaller than your standard takeout container size. I literally thought the driver had eaten my food if it wasn't for this thing being tied in a plastic bag. How is this acceptable? Also the curry was way too sweet.
A very honest review. Honestly, the food is amazing, but...... Even though they closed at 9pm and we arrived at 815, they wouldn't allow us to dine in. Carry out only. Very disappointing even though there was 45 minutes before they closed, they didn't feel like letting us sit down to eat. The take out came in the smallest take out containers I've ever seen. Half the size of standard containers. The soup container was only half full and fit in a small bowl at home. $20 for a soup with one single chicken leg in it. Again, the food was outstanding but the service and small, cheap portions was extremely disappointing, filling the stereotype of cheap people who don't care about their customers.
Average food high end prices. Was $70 much for 2.
Food and service was okay and there are more better places than this in the minneapolis area
Very good Thai food with delicate flavors, spiced (from levels 1 to 5) as per your choice. Portion size is fair. Had a good selection of options for a lactovegetarian dietary preference.
Tasty food!
We recently ordered a pick up delivery and was disappointed in the food...and prices. I think this restaurant (like many post-pandemic) has gone downhill I am sorry to say. I realize food isn't as good when you get it to go, but the pad thai was just a bunch of clumped noodles, not much of the other stuff (bean sprouts, scallions, etc.) and the beef with chinese broccoli was boring.. we got all together 3 entrees and one appetizer, one iced T and it was $77! Just way too much to spend on substandard food. I really want to keep supporting local businesses without spending that kind of money... :(
What happened to this place? I used to eat here once a week, it was my favorite! Now the food quality isn't great and the super small portions are ridiculous. It's half the size for the same price! You can see in the pics the meal is small compared to the eggroll and soda can. Time to move on
This place use to be our favorite but after eating here on labor day we'll never return again.
Several people in our group had food poisoning and some had severe symptoms for several days.
I pray and hoped that no one experienced what we did but this restuarant really needs to make sure their food is being prepared safely and freshly before serving customers in the future.
Probably the worst Thai food I’ve had. I’ve been here before and it’s gotten even worse now. Fried rice was terrible. If you can’t even make fried rice, there is no hope for your restaurant
Over all zero star. Amazing Thai used to be a great restaurant. However, today party of 6 for lunch & it was horrible experience. Service was zero star & food was so bad & very small portion. Will not go back here again for sure. Charged 20% tip for horrible service too. Server need better training... nothing was good & waste $220 today at nasty Thai. Not Amazing thai.
If you’re in uptown, Amazing Thailand is most certainly worth a stop. They serve some of, if not THE best Thai food around. I’ve come to be a regular, and highly recommend the cracked chicken, papaya salad, and tom kha soup—although there’s really nothing on their menu you can go wrong with. The staff are kind, attentive, and friendly. The atmosphere is comfy and richly decorated. Whether you bring a date, a group, or order delivery—it’s fantastic and you won’t be disappointed either way.
Food is great every time I’m here
Honestly green curry from a Thai restaurant should just be right. Pretty much none of it was right I could barely tell what it was supposed to be. Embarrassing.
I hate to say this, I've been coming here for years but tonight the food was bad, rushed and poor service. I loved the owner and the male that usually takes my orders. I always came in with my laptop and even lasted through the change of portion sizes. I always tipped 50%. Tonight I was was truly disappointed and will never return.
A good place to get some Thai food. We tried the panang curry and drunken noodles. For dessert, the mango sticky rice was great!
Have a good time there yesterday. Like that you can eat outdoors. Everything’s great so not much to say there.
Very disappointed, prices have increased and the portions decreased.Silverware look so cheap , foods doesn’t taste good anymore and the prices increase, we will never come back here again !!! Not recommended!!!
They doubled their prices and brought out a portion size not even enough to feed a regular kid, let alone a normal adult. Total rip off! I sent the food back and left!
One of the best Thai places that I found in Minneapolis the food is always fresh hot and perfectly cooked thank you so much. I am editing my review. The prices were lowered by $2. But the food they took about 37% of it out. When I called and asked they said Oh Yes we made it cheaper so they're smaller portions. Such a shame that such a wonderful place has succumbed to capitalism. you know I'd rather pay the extra $2 and get a huge huge meal that lasts for like 2 days then this tiny thing that I smashed down in one sitting
Ordered a curry which tasted bland and seemed like it was diluted with water. Service was average to below average
Delicioso 👍🏼😋😋
Soooooo gooooddddddd
Pretty place! Ok pad thai, might try some of their other menu items. Thai Tea was good. The decor is super cute!
We picked up Amazing Thai, because our regular spot was closed. First, the online system didn't work, so we had to call. The person who helped was very good, but the food was very disappointing! The Curry's were super watery, with the Pumpkin Curry only having 2 small pieces of Pumpkin in it. The white rice was super overcooked, More of a porridge consistency. In the Thai fried rice, I pulled a long black hair out of my mouth! All this, and it cost over $80. It was an unfortunate experience, and we will never dine there again.
I saw this restaurant on IG and I decided to try it and it wasn’t the among the best. The price of the food is too high for the size portions. The drunken noodles and pad Thai that i ordered tasted very stale. I’m sorry to say but I’m not coming back here with my family anymore.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Amazing Thailand. Lots of GF options and yummy Lychee Martini’s!
Our go to’s are:
-egg rolls (not GF)
-crack chicken (not GF)
-Thai Fried Rice, GF
-Drunken Noodles, GF
-Pho, GF
Amazing Thailand has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. But today when we got our usual meals the portion sizes were significantly smaller at the same price point. It makes me not want to spend my money here anymore:(
Service was good and good came out fast! Plate and portion sizes are for 1 person.
Price increase with food portions cut in half. Very disappointed with a favorite restaurant. Definitely taking my business somewhere else.
I understand the price increase but cutting your portion size by half on top of price increase is a pathetic! Use to be a regular at this place loved the food before. Food quality has also gotten worse. What a rip this place has become! Amazing Thailand you have lost us as customers for good.
Former regular, dropped a few thousand here over the years. As reported here, portion sizes have been cut in half without a change in menu price. Like a kid's menu at full price. I would have gladly accepted a large price increase for inflation with the same portions, but not quite 100 percent. My last and final meal here was burned as well. Anyway, thank you for being my favorite restaurant for almost a decade.
Could not honestly say. Could not order. Wasn't served. Had no food.
Beautiful picture worthy environment. Food was amazing and also the drinks
Our server was so kind! He made great recommendations and also he slayed.
Server was incredibly polite and had great recommendations! One of the best Thai food restaurants I've been to.
Highly recommend the Pad See Ew
I came here to eat with my family on May 14th as it had been years, but since it's super dark in the restaurant, left my wallet on accident with $500 cash in it after we paid and left during their closing shift. I called next day as soon as they opened having realized so and was told there was no wallet turned in, and the staff that were serving didn't work the entire weekend due to artawhirl. The manager mentioned the cameras are always on but can't be accessed without the owner, and all phone calls are recorded. I was told she would update me, took down my information and would let me know the following week. I waited and got no call back or update. I took it as an L and vowed to never come back here. I would say the 6 years I was excited to come back and eat here with my family. But there are no ethics for the closing staff to take accountability and own up to it. and the portions downsized by half for the same price at that.
Long time customer - have ordered take out countless times. We have always split an entree and appetizer with no issues.
The portion sizes have decreased significantly while still paying full price. They also reduced the number of appetizers (6 wontons to 5) and are being sold for the same price. Modifications are also no longer available.
Amazing Thai was our to-go place for years. Not anymore. The portions we received not even fit for lunch. Prices are much higher but portions and taste have plummeted. Sadly
What used to be one of the best Thai restaurants in the cities changed for the worst. Amazing Thailand used to be my go-to and I’d always order the pumpkin curry. I recently visited and the plate sizes are 5x less than what it used to be. The prices increased and food amount lessened.
My spring rolls were bite size and were 10 dollars? What a rip off.
My pumpkin curry only had 3 chunks of pumpkin in it. There was barely any coconut milk in my dish and it was a very uneven amount. Very disappointed at how much they changed. Eventually they will go out of business with this drastic menu change and portion amount.
Just ordered takeout. Have been a customer for a decade or more. The food was edible, but WAY lower quality. Did ownership change? Portions were also 1/2 at best, maybe even 1/3 as in the past. Order Thai from somewhere else. Don’t bother unless they severely change.
They have made portions 1/4th of what they used to be for almost the same prices. Complete rip off. Used to be a regular but not going back again.
Unfortunately for me Uptown now = $$$. Excellent everything, unfortunately they've just priced themselves out of my market. Sniff sniff. Good for you if you can afford this place. Know that they do add the New World Order service charge to everything. (There is a similar little less expensive place about one block away)
Their portions are half the size they used to be for the same price.
This place went from my favorite Thai restaurant in Mpls to my least favorite.
Their prices are ridiculous, their portions are now equivalent to tapas, and the food itself it absolutely disgusting. You can find more authentic and delicious Thai food at a taco bell in Nebraska. I was there for the last time this weekend and the pad thai was overly cooked spaghetti noodles seasoned with catchup. The laab and papaya salad are bland and they served us the wrong dishes...and then said "don't worry, we won't charge you for the mistakes" ugh... ok thanks for not charging us for something we didn't order, how swell of you. *rolls eyes*
Go somewhere else this place has become an overpriced pit with with nasty food.
We spent $200 here (not included tips yet). The portion of the food is extremely small. It’s totally not worth it for eating here anymore. Also the foods are so bad!!! Never come back again. So disappointed !!!!!
I'm in from out of town, so I only ate here once, but the food was delicious! They had MANY take outs. I had Green Curry with chicken, my brother had it with shrimp, my son and niece got Pad Thai. All was very tasty. If you like spicy, go level 3 heat or higher. I've eaten at a lot of Thai places, and I thought this curry was tops with the best tender and juicy chicken. There is also a page of Thai street foods on the menu that I don't think is shown online. We had Moo PIng as an appetizer for all of us, and I highly recommend it. Also, deiicious cocktails, great service, and nice atmosphere.
This use to be my favorite place but not any more. We went yesterday and had a horrible experience. They are charging the full price for less than half portion. They are scamming people. At first we thought this might be the lunch menu for less price but then the waiter confirmed that they have this new menu and pricing. There were barely 5 small chunks of chicken in my noodles and very little noodles with barely any vegetables. Earlier I use to eat here and was never able to complete my food but now it’s like a kids meal. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE…..It’s a scam
We have ordered from here for years, but they recently changed their portion sizes to about half of what you used to get….same price! The first time I thought it was a mistake, but got the same smaller portion again tonight.
Mother’s Day’s meal went great over the weekend! I must say, the new changes to the menu was a great change. They’ve added more authentic Thai food such as Moo Ping, Gai Yang, Khao Soy, Khao Mun Gai to the menu. These are the true Thai dishes you must have when eating Thai food.
Khao Mun Gai: 9/10 almost like haiyanese chicken rice. The chicken sauce that comes with it was delicious. Comes with a side of soup as well!
Chinese broccoli with crispy pork belly: 10/10 yum yum yum 👩🍳 😘
Tod Mun: 10/10 shrimps cakes. Delicious!
Pad Krapao: 9/10 authentic thai basil stir fried
Crying Tiger: 9/10 the steak was cooked perfectly to my liking. Also, the sauce that accompanied the dish was a great addition.
Moo Ping: 15/10 this is a Thai style pork skewer. This skewer brought me back to my childhood because I used to eat this pork skewers every mornings before school when I was living in Thailand. I recommend this with sticky rice. It was so delicious!!
I also noticed that with the new dishes add on to the menu, they have lowered their prices and portion as well. But I think it made it more affordable, as I used to pay over $100 for just 2 people. These dishes I ordered for 5 people was a little over $150, so that was great for me. Now I can’t say for the third party delivery apps as they also jack up the prices. Also, uptown businesses are heavily affected by the construction on the Hennepin. We need to support more small businesses.
Overall I’d recommend everyone to dine at Amazing Thailand. I will definitely bring my family back for more dishes.
We enjoyed our food overall. The spice level was very inconsistent however; we both ordered a level 3, but my curry had almost no spice at all, while my husband’s pad Thai was almost inedible for us because it was extremely spicy, like a level 5 or more. The massaman curry, wonton soup, and egg rolls were good though and we’d order again.
This has been a place I've ordered from for years, but seems like they're instituting changes. Upped the price of egg rolls, again, to $9, and had maybe the blandest Pad Thai I've ever had in my life. Not only was it not 4* spicy, it wasn't 1* spicy, and noodles had no seasoning. They also shrunk the portions, again. Don't know what's going on, but definitely gone super downhill. I'd look elsewhere for Thai food.
I ordered take-out via DoorDash from Amazing Thailand and I will say, do not eat here unless you are okay with being totally shirked on your portions. I ordered Shrimp Pad Thai, the meal itself cost $21, and yet they gave me a little tiny container that was half-filled with bean sprouts. I weighed the portion— 440g of Shrimp Pad Thai. For reference, when I ordered from another thai place in Minneapolis, I got 890g of Shrimp Pad Thai for $22. They are quite literally charging full price for a half portion, and only threw in 5 shrimp that were extremely overcooked and tough. I do not recommend eating here, and will never be ordering from here again.
Food was great per usual but the sizes of takeout has changed drastically, smaller portions for the same price a bit disappointing.
Very good food and fun atmosphere
Delicious food, super fast, and wonderful atmosphere.
They have BOGO on a ton of drinks and AMAZING food. Come support an Uptown business!
We come to this cute little gem when we stroll around lake Calhoun in uptown. They have a lot of vegetarian/vegan options. I've never eaten a pho so delicious and flavorful. The ambiance is casual and inviting with a cute bar too.
Very nice restaurant. They can make authentic Thai food, just like you find in Thailand (especially in Isaan which is NE Thailand).
This is one of the BEST places to eat in the Twin Cities. Amazing food, awesome atmosphere, service was spectacular. Can't wait to come back here again. Highly recommend the spring rolls and won-tons for appetizers, they are delicious!
Try the fried pumpkin appetizers!! So good!
Fairly expensive for Thai food. Food was good but not great. The menu online is outdated (some options aren’t available anymore and prices are old). Uptown location, so parking is difficult and not free. Pumpkin appetizer was supposed to be coconut breaded, but it was pretty much just tempura. Would have been nice for the papaya salad or crying tiger to be served with a side of rice for $20, and $30 respectively. Sink the bathroom only had ice cold water for washing hands.
Very RUDE customer service. Waiter and waitress are ridiculously pushy. Waitress gave me the stare. The food was NOT authentic, being way sweet for Thai food. NEVER come here, it’s a shame on the business owner to have a restaurant like this in Minneapolis.
Ordered an entree and an app for pick up, cost $50 something dollar. I asked the person to break down the charge and apparently they have a service fee. What used to cost me $30 ish dollar now is $50 and then the menu that adds extra charges based on the protein choices ( when there is minimal protein) is ridiculous. ( which I believe is adapted from DoorDash or Uber eats pricing model) Food quality is also sub par, always with lots of oil and little veggie and protein. Won’t be visiting again. Used to be a frequent diner.
First of all, I will put it out there….please don’t follow suit with other businesses in Uptown and close!!
Also the spring roll is the TRUTH!! Sooooo goood it’s unreal. Fresh sprigs of mint, thin Julienne carrots 🥕 and house made rice wrap. Omg! Pineapple 🍍 fried rice is amazing too. The cheese wontons are amazing too!
The ambience in the main restaurant is awesome with wooden carvings on the wall and an authentic vibe. Lastly the patio is so cozy on a warm evening for a date!
I don’t know how they do it, but Amazing Thai has the most consistent quality of any Thai restaurant we frequent in MSP. We almost exclusively get delivery and love it! Great flavor and affordable.
Updated review. The food again is amazing, but the service was lacking this time. Will definitely return.
The vibe is pretty cool, and the food is amazing! Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable. Ordered the beef egg rolls, Pad Thai, and the Red Curry with beef. Those egg rolls are huge and have so much flavor. The Pad Thai was so good, but the Red Curry was the best! I ordered 5 on the spicy level, and it was perfect. The broth was sweet from the coconut milk and spicy. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, and the beef was tender. This is probably one of my top 3 Thai places in Minneapolis. I am a fan.
always loved amazing thailand but our last experience was subpar, and there’s a lot of fruit flies flying around and landing on your food which is really gross
Good food! But to go in and order food and be charged $5.98 as a service fee is ridiculous. You lost a customer!
Best Thai imo in Minneapolis!!
It was delivery
The food is ok, nothing special but to be fair is not bad what is really bad is the customer service we waited more than an hour to get our food, I had to go to the bar by myself to buy a beer because the waiter never came to our table to check if we needed something and they charge you 25% upfront for the service which is the worst service I have ever received in a restaurant. Their excuse if that they were busy, it was Friday night they must be prepared. Additionally my soup was cold. I won’t be returning. It’s not worth it for me.
Stopped in for a Saturday lunch- we were seated quickly and found the service to be fast, friendly, and inviting. Took advantage of being with a friend and we split a bunch of different dishes. The appetizers were AMAZING, though I do believe you can never go wrong with a good app. We tried the egg rolls, cream cheese wontons, and the chicken satay- all of which were so flavorful and the sauce companions were delicious. We split the Pad Se Ew for our entree, a favorite always, and it didn’t disappoint. I’m always hesitant to stray from my usual Thai restaurants, but so happy to have found this place! We greatly enjoyed our lunch and plan to go back. Do note they charge a 15% service charge- however this did not deter us- how can you argue against providing fair wages? Love to see companies taking care of their staff!
Excellent place.
A 15 percent service charge is added to already over priced average quality food. 15 percent. Even for take out. I was asked to pickup in the back alley, after dark, in uptown 🤯. When I declined and asked to pick up in front of the restaurant, where there is no parking, I had to walk in and drive around the block three times before my order was brought to the front door.
Never again. There are equally good if not better Thai restaurants without the service charge in much safer parts of town.
Food is overall pretty good. I will give them credit for one thing. It's really hard to make bad pork belly and they have figured out how to make pork belly almost inedible. Pad Thai redeemed it though
It was a bit pricey.
We were seated a full hour without receiving any of our order. Tables that came after ours received their orders, orders that are similar to OURS. It makes no sense. We talked to the waitress and her only explanation was that the kitchen was being slow. That doesn’t make sense bc other tables and door dashers have been consistently receiving their orders. It’s such a frustrating experience I don’t even care about the food. For a place that has a 15% service surcharge, I have not seen anything this place has done to warrant that.
Ordered out. It was unseasoned and tasteless. 0/10
All in all was a good meal but definitely not worth the price and will not order again unless prices drop. For 2 entrees and one appetizer it came to $61 not including tip.
The tofu drunken noodles were really great with good portion sizes. Shrimp spring rolls were good but smaller than others I've had and more expensive but they held togetger well. The masssaman curry was ok but was a smaller portion size than the noodles, had very small amount of chicken and was very runny/not as flavorful as I expected it to be. I prefer the curry at Mai Thai by a long shot & don't recommend it from here.
Walking in our party of 4 was seated right away.. I loved the vibe and decor a lot as well as the Christmas music. Our waiter was very nice. I ordered the almond stir-fry with chicken, it was good. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. And then the bill came! None of us knew that an automatic 18% Gratuity was going to be added to our bill. We all ordered basic stir-fry entree's and 1 of our group just ordered some fried rice. We all had 1 beverage. Total was $150 and this was before tip! We left a good tip regardless but sadly we won't be back because the place is just to expensive for what we got!
Excellent service by Mario! Food was fantastic and we enjoyed the Christmas decor! Fun atmosphere and cute spot. We had the jalapeño wontons, drunken noodles and Panang curry. It was all good! Pink Panther cocktail was huge and delicious!
The drunken noodles are my favorite! Spicy #5!!!
2 years in and I have never been disappointed! My absolute favorite place to eat 😁
we had a really difficult time with the manager at Amazing Thailand tonight trying to get him to accommodate some special food needs for a family member with severe allergies. they made us pay for an entire extra meal.
not cool. they said the DoorDash order was already packed, but we called immediately after submitting the order. There was no space in the online order form through DoorDash to make dietary specifications.
Always fun
The first time I've been to Amazing Thailand in 5 or 6 years was very good; not great, but very good. That's not a bad thing. I love Thai Food. To earn 5-stars from me, a Thai restaurant has to be in Thailand.
Amazing Thai has very good food, good atmosphere a hole-in-the-wall, a well stocked bar, and staff that do their best to welcome you. I don't know how long it'll be around since Uptown appears to be in between reincarnations. The only way Amazing Thai has a chance to stay alive to regain its past glory is if customers eat and drink at one of the last of the Uptown dining gens. That's up to you. I promise it's worth saving through your patrona8.
Very welcoming place with a great patio, when it's warm out! Food was spectacular and the service was so fast I was blown away. Would highly recommend the egg rolls and drunken noodles.
Look no further for exquisite Thai cuisine. I thoroughly enjoyed their fried pumpkin appetizer. I thoroughly enjoyed the pumpkin curry, which is great with mock duck. My companion's entre was also excellent. I can see why there was a steady stream of delivery/take out going out. If you wish to dine in, there is plenty of room. The booths even have coat hooks.
Fun vibrant location with amazing staff. The tom yum gung wasnt spicy or lemongrass though which was a huge upset. All other dishes were good
I ordered red curry and asked them to make it at level 5 spicy. Tasted mild and it was cold and bland. Complete waste of money. This place probably only survives off it's location.
So ripped off. The good isn’t that good and it was so expensive. I would never go there ever again.
Love this place for the last 5 years! I have a shellfish allergy and they’ve always taken it seriously!
the service charge has got to go. Adjust your prices accordingly please. I can make better thai food myself too…
Great service and amazing food!!
Delicious Thai food in the uptown area. I love coming here during happy hour, even better deals on great food.
Food: Recommend the spring rolls, cracked chicken, papaya salad, and tom kha soup and cream cheese wontons—although there’s really nothing on their menu you can go wrong with.
Service: staff are kind, attentive, and friendly.
Atmosphere: comfy and richly decorated with thai decor feel.
Parking is not close and you will likely have to park on the street.
Consistently great Thai cuisine. My favorite place to go for a great plate of Pad Thai, Chicken satay, egg rolls, wontons or fried rice. Great service, lots of seating (small patio), with a parking garage across the street (near Roat Osha restaurant {which is also amazing btw}). Great for date night or a solo bite.
We very much enjoyed our meal here! The staff was super friendly and very good about explaining the differences in the various dishes. They have a wide selection of classic Thai dishes as well as some modern cuisine. I had the red curry with pork and my date had the pad se ew. Both were excellent with generous portions. My only complaint would be the wontons which while tasty, were a bit under done and not as crispy as they should have been.
They also have an excellent drink menu with some great combinations for signature cocktails. The lychee martini was especially good.
Was it curry or was it soup? Not happy spending almost $35/person on “amazing” curry that was stretched at the end of the night with water. Nice people, cool location, too expensive, not spicy.
Both of my dishes were way too sweet: based on this, prices are way too high here compared to the quality/taste of the food.
As good as it gets. Best Thai restaurant in Minnesota. Atmosphere is always fantastic and the food even better.
Amazing Thailand has got to be one of the best Thai restaurants in Minnesota, hands down!! Their food is wonderful. So much flavor in everything, which is hard to find in Minnesota overall. I’ve not had anything on the menu that I did not like. And of course there are my staple favorites, like the Cracked Chicken and Drunken Noodles!! But the best thing about Amazing Thailand??…the house made chili oil!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!! This oil is something to be reckoned with, for real. The oil is so aromatic and absolutely DELICIOUS!!!! It tastes like it smells. And I put it on EVERYTHING!! I love that they sell jars of it for home use. Put it on eggs, potatoes, rice, chicken, steak, tofu!!! Lol. It is truly AMAZING and so is the food!!!!
Great quality of food! One of my go-to places for Thai.
My favorite Thai restaurant in Minneapolis! Highly recommend any of the fried rice and the egg rolls.
They close early on any night they decide. Called at 8:30 (and they usually close at 9) and they answered the phone and said they are closed. I asked why? And they said because they are closed and cleaning up. I asked why they answered the phone then? And they said because they decided to close early….. RIP
I had a craving for Thai food, and this location came very highly recommended. I enjoyed the lunch special of a spring roll and curry. The presentation was lovely, and the chicken in the curry was truly fantastic. It was a roasted and pulled chicken instead of the thinly sliced chicken that usually comes with curry. The curry wasn’t as creamy as I’m used to, but was still great tasting. I ate it all!
Great place for group dinners and happy hour when it’s available. Customer service is great and wait staff know their spice levels for food 🔥
The peanut curry was terrible it was sweet and thick the manager was not nice the egg roll tasted good but the wrapping was so thick won’t go back there again prices were so high.
the most incredible pad thai
Gluten free options for celiacs! I am celiac and have had no reaction to their gf pho! I’ve tried spicy and mild both are fantastic. Their service is way faster than other places and their pho is wonderful. I’ll be here in the colder months for their soup A LOT.
