Hands down the BEST Sushi and Thai place to go when you’re hungry and just want to eat. Very nice vibe and ambience. Manager ( Diane ) and server ( Amy ) is super friendly! The price is reasonable and the food came out quick. Best birthday ever!

Dissatisfaction is the only word that comes to mind. Visited this place on yiesday 1/14/25. Called the day before to make sure they were open for lunch. Only to arrive at 11:30 as there was no sushi chef which was the reason we went. Waited an hour and like 15 minutes for him to casually come walking in the door to sloppily throw our food together. We ordered the 10 zen with eel on the side, vegetables spring rolls, shrimp tempura app that came out to the table with no shrimp by the way. Has to ask for it, because we paid for it. Spider which he put the eel inside of and salmon shashimi. The owner was just sitting at the bar like everything was fine and dandy. Never apologized, never offered up any customer service nothing. I felt bad for the host because everything was on her. Then the next day I ordered the vegetable spring rolls again only to get homw and find shrimp on my spring rolls which I’m allergic too. I called and the lady was like I’m so sorry i tell the manager and next time you come in they will be on us but he never called me back. I think it’s odd that you can literally tell me my order at pick up but not verify what’s coming out of the kitchen. I’ll NE RR BE BACK NOR WILL I RECOMMEND THIS DISGUSTING SERVICE TO ANYONE. ITS PATHETIC.

The food was alright. Not spectacular. Mid level sushi and appetizers. Wouldn't make the trip for sushi again. Was not worth the money. I think they have a hooka bar upstairs which is unique.

They were very kind and fed me and my bestie at 1:30 am even though they were closing up. The food was delicious and the hospitality was unmatched. Music was great. Vibe was chill. Will 100% be going back.

They switched owners 8 months ago, we encountered a totally different restaurant than we were anticipating. Totally slow, inexperienced service. Everything was too expensive. Quality was off, couldn’t tell if this was actually sushi quality. Super sad for loyal longtime customers, on top of that parking was $7

The food was delicious! I enjoyed the best chicken satay and the sushi was very fresh and flavorful! The staff was also wonderful. Krista was my server and she was so warm and kind.

DO NOT EAT HERE! Had some sushi, calamari and noodles this monday and my stomach hasnt been the same. My friend who also ate the food expierenced the same stomach and Toliet issues! Save your money! Way too expensive to be having these types of issues!!!

Bartenders let a 2 year old child run around alone and even get behind the bar several times after 10:00pm. Meanwhile, serving his mom and friends shots at a table on the other side of the room. I know it was a slow night, but come on! If someone is too intoxicated to care for a small child, why continue to serve the table shots? Why not ask them.to leave and take the baby?
Both bartenders left the bar at 1 point and the little boy was behind the bar by HIMSELF. My boyfriend retrieved the little boy right before he knocked over a bunch of stacked glasses (yes, they were glass). That's not to mention all the sharp objects and dangerous chemicals he could have got into if we had not intervened. At the time we didn't know who's child it was so I called out "who's baby is this?" And a woman dressed as a sexy ninja stumbled over acring surprised. Mind you we didnt even realize this was the mom until she came over because no one of the 5/6 women at the table acted concerned about this baby and no employee took him back over there or attempted to correct the problem.
The bartenders did NOT ask the mom to leave or watch her baby. They kept sending out trays of shots. The server continued to overserve the table while the baby went behind the bar 2 more times. He also wandered through the dance floor and up the stairs to the mezzanine with no supervision and tried to leave the restaurant. I stopped him.
I am disappointed at the stagg for over serving his mom and her friends and allowing this child to run unsupervised through a bar until almost 11pm. He could have been hurt or taken and all 3 of the staff members looked the other way. Shame on you!

Sushi was average at best. We ordered rolls advertised as "spicy" and none were spicy in the slightest. They were out of all draft beers. Waitress was new (but was friendly and trying hard). I don't think We would return.

I was walking around the area and stumbled into this restaurant on a whim. I was met by Jimmy who gave amazing service and guided me through the menu. I was showed an authentic Thai experience and ate amazing food that was worth the price. I left this business already planning on a return with my family. Godbless this restaurant.

I am blown away by the food and the service! We ordered miso soup, two rolls, and the mochi. The sushi was so delicious—I ended up ordering food to go! The GMO Jimmy was our server and the other owner, Tony, was our sushi chef—two great guys. Thank you both for the experience. We will be back!

The food was amazing. The service was absolutely horrendous, this place was not autism friendly for my friend. The only way I would go back is if I placed an online order and picked it up. Our server served every other table and kept missing us and not servingyes she took 45 minutes to take our order and bring us our drinks we were there for about 2 and a 1/2 hours waiting for our food.

They kept changing the amount of light in the store, someone kept changing the light from bright to darker and the music was much too loud to have a conversation. The food that was given to me was colder than the plate.

Was so disappointing last night.. used to be my absolute favorite place when I lived here a few years back with amazing sushi. It was hardly edible.. the gyoza was served cold, almost frozen at parts. The manager didn't even know they were on the menu so that should have been a red flag there. They used to serve masterfully made sushi with great cuts, these ones didn't taste fresh, were bland and they tried talking us into getting wings instead?? Isn't this a sushi place? Lastly they had the music so loud we had to yell in eachothers ears when we were right next to eachother. I could maybe excuse that if it was packed but there was only one other couple there?? Looked into it and seems the old owner sold the place and it definitely shows. Used to be some of the best food in uptown. Really a shame.

I don’t know what’s up with this place, because all the reviews led me to believe it was a restaurant. It was a hookah lounge and the guy at the door wouldn’t let us in. Just wanted a nice dinner with my fiancé.

Sat there for 40 minutes and only received water. Horrible service and then had enough nerve to charge a cover charge that they wouldn’t return after not being served.

We had a great time here, the food was fantastic and the service was top-notch. The staff were friendly and made us feel at home. We're visiting Minneapolis and Origami Tiger really set the bar high for our trip. Thanks again!

Great fried rice and sushi. And the chef came out and offered to make anything gluten free or make substitutions. Will definitely eat there again.

The closest place to Moxy's uptown that had the twolves game. Good to see a bunch of fans when I got there. Bro was super slammed so I'll give him a break but otherwise good if perhaps understaffed service.

Such a beautiful restaurant, and the service was 10/10!! I got the Tom kha, pad Thai, and papaya salad and it was heavenly. I highly suggest trying the Tom Kha :)

Came to try this place out, and ended up sticking around a couple hours because of the comedy show! What a nice surprise on a Monday evening. Really enjoyed the drunken noodles. Also had some excellent, strong drinks. Really cool vibes. Will be back for sure, especially on a Monday for more comedy!

I can selfishly say I have high standards for Origami and sushi, alone. As the daughter of the original Origami Restaurant, it was bitter-sweet walking through the doors for the first time after my dad retired and sold the restaurant to a brand that evolved from my dad's that he built from ground up the year I was born. I am so incredibly relieved and happily fed by the new ownership and quality of sushi that came to our table 💖. Tony and the rest of the crew know what they are doing and I couldn't be more excited to frequent this establishment! Thank you for the beautiful dinner and lovely hospitality, cheers!

It was great to get to eat here again. New ownership, new menu, but really good food. They’re still figuring out the service aspect, as everyone is new, but we had a good time and we would definitely come here again.

Delicious. My food came promptly, rest of service was great. I had the Thai crispy chicken stir fry which was great and a new specialty for them. Very cool restaurant too, I will for sure come back and try to do so on a Friday or Saturday evening. 5 stars across the board.
