Informal restaurant in a strip mall offering traditional Thai plates to eat in or take out.
Absolutely fantastic food. Ordered the vegetable fried rice meal with hot tea and crab wontons, and a small vegetable egg drop soup. Crab wontons were delicious, warm melty center and crisp flavorful shell. They were so good I decided to add on some of the fried veggie spring rolls. Veggie egg drop soup was great, full of cabbage, carrots and egg— reminds me of the soup I loved as a kid from the Thai restaurant that used to be across from Meijer (then became Northpointe Motors). Fried rice was fantastic, loaded with fresh veggies. Since moving to Minnesota, I usually go to Hunan when I am home, but since they’re still carry out only I decided to finally give Thai Kitchen a try to have dine in and my goodness am I glad I did. Totally different flavor profile, so now I have two favorites in TC. ❤️ I’ll be back soon, with my local family so they can try it too!
I had the crazy noodle Medium. Very good.
My son who likes heat rated hotest in TC and 8 out of 10.
Wife could handle the mild. Good flavor
Overall, the flavors are great. The noodles are a bit on the sweet side, but the rice tastes really good, and the spiciness is quite authentic, so I won't need to order it that spicy next time.
One of the best dining experiences in TC. The wait staff is extremely accommodating, the food is flavorful and large quantities, and the atmosphere is perfection. My favorite dish is the drunken noodles with shrimp. I dine here every chance I get.
Absolutely loved each time I've been here. The food is amazing, the service very polite and funny. The looks of the place is calming and charming. But best of all BOBA!!!!
And they had a very cute little fish. The tank could use some work though but that's not to go against the place as a whole.

The best Thai food in town
Very tasty pad Thai
I am visiting my mother and literally picked up takeout. The appetizers were soaked in grease, had absolutely zero flavor and the Thai Basil Fried Rice was beyond subpar. Last time I will eat there.

It had been a few years since I had been here, seemed fine.
Worst Thai food I’ve ever had. The chicken was not edible could not chew. It had a terrible taste. Was supposed to be generals chicken but had no flavor whatsoever. Spring rolls were burnt and tasted ungodly. Definitely will not go back. Please don’t waste your time.
I've been coming here for years, and they never disappoint. The food is always so good, and the employees are always so nice and accommodating. I always look forward to eating here or getting takeout. 😊
I don't think I've ever been more disappointed by Thai food. I ordered spring rolls, pad Thai w chicken, sticky rice with mango, and Thai tea. The rolls were just ok. They were wrapped so loosely they completely fell apart on the first bite. The pad Thai was so incredibly spicy (despite asking for mild) I couldn't really eat it, but it seemed ok. The sticky rice seemed like it was scraped out of the bottom of a pot after sitting there all day. The rice wasn't even palatable. Sadly, I only ate the mango. I didn't know it was possible to mess up Thai tea, but, you guessed it- they somehow managed to.
The price certainly doesn't match the quality of the food. Save yourself the disappointment.
I ordered our usual 2-meal take-out last month and it included 2 orders of spring rolls. They were burnt and inedible. Not normal for Thai Kitchen quality, but we figured that next time we ordered, we would just mention it and get them replaced, no worries. I was surprised to be treated as if we were trying to get free food by complaining. We unfortunately can not return.
Always have good yellow curry. It’s consistent, same every time and yummy. The Taro smoothy/tea is also great and goes well with the curry.
Delicious food, great portion sizes, and super friendly staff. I come here about once a month and I am always happy with my food and service!
Love their food. Eat there frequently.
A favorite spot for our family . . . Gift certificates for Christmas!!
Best place for a quiet dinner and a perfect choice for our 54th wedding anniversary celebration. Great service, delicious food, and so many scrumptious choices!
Incredible food!! I recommend the Pad Ped with tofu, so yummy!!! The staff is always chill and there is a variety of Thai and South Asian cuisine to choose from! They also offer Boba milk tea, which I have not tried yet..
Orange chicken contained maybe 5 pieces of chicken in it and about 20 balls of fried air. It's definitely not worth the high price. Unfortunately will not be returning.
Got four entrées here for takeout. Every single one was incredibly mediocre. The worst was a peanut curry noodle, which is usually my favorite entrée at any Thai place. I assumed because the prices were so high that the food would be really good. But honestly, they could not pay me to eat this again :(
This was a really pleasant surprise with how good it is, good enough that we'd come back! My portion was large enough to have leftovers for lunch (that were still really good).
Yellow curry was very good I didn’t like the pineapple fried rice as much tho very saucy like teriyaki or soy sauce flavor was edible tho!
Great service, amazing food, nice atmosphere. BONUS; Portion sizes were enough for a little left over. I will definitely be back!
Authentic flavors that you'll never forget. I wish I would've found this restaurant long before now. If you know Thai food at all or enjoy it, you will not be disappointed.
Love the curry
The portion of food was a good size and the food was hot. I tried the drunken noodles with tofu veggie and loved every bite. I ordered takeout so I didn’t see much of the inside of the restaurant. Can’t wait to go back.
Wonderful food, very relaxing atmosphere, and my waitress was extremely polite and helpful with making a choice on the menu. I definetly recommend the Gang Curry- it was amazing. ^-^
Glad they don't use MSG.
Absurdly long wait time
Thai Curry was awesome!!
This establishment likes to go to other restaurants 15 minutes before closing and rack their bill up and not tip. Disrespectful disgusting people. I guess they’re mad because their food sucks or something.
Great food. The best Thai I've had in Traverse City. Get a lot for your money, especially on carry out.
Food is incredible, lots of options. Absolutely zero wait time during lunch, our food came out maybe 5 minutes after we ordered. Bubble tea is also delicious! I don’t understand why this place isn’t packed!
Food was so good! I got the green coconut curry, it was medium spice and delicious, the vegetables al dente. The Thai tea with coconut milk is also very good, not too sweet. Food came out super fast, 10/10 would recommend!

Too expensive for what you get.. plus they charge fees!
Just yum.
Very very yum.
We always take the food to go, so I cannot rate the atmosphere or service.
The food is great.
We enjoyed our take out meal.
Excellent Thai cuisine made authentically and for each order prepared wonderfully. It has the spice levels we like and a great selection for vegetarians. We love the restaurant and atmosphere!
I had the Mongolian Beef. It was delicious and portion was large. Crab Rangoon was also tasty. Even the tea was particularly good on a cool fall evening.
Closed till October 2nd
The pho broth is good and is the 2ed best pho in Traverse City. I have ordered over 20 times. I also think its the best Asian food in town for the price.
Absolutely love this place. Staff is friendly from the time we walked in. Service was prompt and friendly. The food is amazing. Fresh ingredients, vegetables not overcooked. Prices are more than reasonable for the quality they serve. Highly recommend.
Excellent service. The Pho was out of this world deliciousness!!
Boba tea is delicious. The food is excellent and easy to order for on the go.
Very inconsistent. Very disappointing
Wow! Did we ever enjoy our dinner at Thai Kitchen. The atmosphere was calm with subdued colors and simple oriental decorations. The service was attentive and friendly. And, of course, the food was authentic and delicious. We'll definitely be back.
So impressed with this place! We stopped after a day running errands in TC. It was so good! I got the Crazy Noodles and I can’t remember what my husband got (all I remember is how good he kept saying it was lol). The egg rolls were the best I’ve ever had! The wait staff was wonderful too! I’m sad we live so far away so we can’t visit more frequently!!
Wow! We looooved the food. The House Special Pad Prik was our favorite. It has so much flavor! We also got crab Rangoons, sesame chicken, Thai fried noodles and gang peanut curry with shrimp. They were all excellent! We can't wait to go back and try more.
Ordered the Gang Peanut Curry, there was no curry. It was just coconut milk and peanut butter. But the portion was great and they were very generous with the veggies. I have a luck in the past and bad luck as well. They are very hit or miss
Great food and service
Ordered to go for lunch at the office. Huge order and everything was correct. Food was great
nice fresh lunch
No complaints on the food but only the spiciness. I ordered medium spicy. It was really really hot. I would say it was extra spicy. The manager said they can’t do anything about it. I told her that I would take my business elsewhere. The food might’ve been awesome but I couldn’t taste or feel it in my mouth.
Delicious vegetarian and vegan Pho. As authentic as you can get! #flavafulltv worthy. Try the Massaman curry and the Gang Peanut curry as well. I always feel welcomed and its one of the only places in the area that I consistently feel my dollar is valued. Basic decor and atmosphere. Worth the drive and time.
Great pad thai
Had take out spring rolls. They were DELICIOUS, large, and stayed crispy, even after reheating. I will definitely eat hear again when in town. Dipping sauce was great also.
I am so glad I finally got the chance to try Thai Kitchen. Ordering was easy, the service was friendly, and the Pad Thai was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend 😋
The food was not bad, it is obvious that some dishes they do well and others they just offer to widen the menu. The quality of the ingredients were low . The price is kind of high for the food. The redeeming quality to this place is the staff was nice.
Always delicious and hearty portions.
Food is awesome 😎
We usually get our food from the other Thai place on front street/Munson, but they were closed for vacation. I decided to get my curry fried rice from Thai kitchen instead. Cost was similar (about $15), but the food was not very flavorful and basically looked burnt. I almost thought they have me the wrong dish. Was starving, so I ate some anyways. Ended up throwing the rest away. A previous time I came here, it seemed they must get the throwaway produce from the grocery store. Old mushrooms, icky broccoli, etc. Not fresh stuff. So I definitely won't be coming back again as this last trip reminded me why I stopped coming in the first place.
Wonderful as always.
Delicious and amazing food, fast and fresh, perfectly cooked meat and veggies!
Everything is Amazing!
Great food and Outstanding service!
The best Thai food in Traverse City. However, hardly open. Limited days & hours.
Food had way too much sugar and corn starch in it. Curry was like glue, Mongolian beef sauce tasted like hunter's gravy, although I'm not sure why you would order that at a Thai restaurant. Thai food is my favorite but I hope they reconsider their ingredients because this was overly Americanized.
Simply a nice small place. Don't let the outside( strip mall look) fool you. The food was OUTSTANDING! I WILL be back soon! Had the crazy noodle. Yum! Service was great as well!
Great place. Delicious food.
Great Thai restaurant. Service is attentive and good. Lots of choices - as you would all are large.
Go-to place for me all the time. Food is very good, it just keeps getting more expensive, and they don't give enough for that price. Phó is very good.
This was maybe the 3rd or 4th time ordering from them, normally it's been just ok. I'd say not worth the price. This most recent time will be the last. Ordered two different entrees one shrimp and one chicken, the proteins were mixed up in the wrong food. Not a huge deal but still a let down. What killed me was I had ordered egg drop soup. We all know what that is, almost any Asian restaurant does it nearly the same way every time. I opened it to see a dirty looking broth, old carrots, and a grey blob in the middle. I did call to question whatever it was, and was told "they just heated it up too much". I dumped it out, not really worth the argument but I can't get over that soup. No idea how someone consciously scoops it into the bowl and sends it to the customer. Gross.
Food was supposed to be great here from all the reviews I read but I hated the pad Thai I ordered.
Do go for thai curry as it is highly recommended and we loved it too.
This place sucks now. Has for the past few years. I decided to try again and it's like they're not even trying. And for how much it costs ($35+ for two meals) I expect a lot more. I won't be back.
So delicous.
Oh. My. Thai.
If you are looking for a vast variety of asian/pacific food faire, then do I have a strong suggestion for you. Thai Kitchen offers wonderful food, rivaling the extremely expensive quality of even Hibachi-styled resturants. I have enjoyed visiting this resturant on a good few occasians and, I must say, I am excited EVERYTIME I get the oppurntunity to grace it's doors and indulge on the finer foods offered here. Also, and a big ALSO, the service is amazing and accomodating! Always helpful, patient, and polite. Thai Kitchen also delivers and they are active in ensuring that they are able to deliver, even at one point (and maybe still even) securing their own delivery service -- in any-case if you want Thai Kitchen, it can be at your door in just a short time. The atmosphere inside Thai Kitchen is nothing less then a delightful and curiated chill mood. It is a MUST if you are in (or even around 😅) Traverse City.
Don't forget to like this review if you found it to help! 🔥🤩 it indeed helps even here on the google platform. ❤️ if you would like to help out even more, check out some of my photos🏞 and videos, it is much appreciated. Thank you very much for your time. 🌄⌚️😄
No flavor. Over priced. Tom yum was terrible.
Food was so amazing. I ordered tofu and veggie pho. Service was very good!!
Really good food. Good service too
Absolutely delicious!!!! This place definitely did not disappoint. Service is beyond amazing; very sweet. The portions are great and pricing is great as well.
Tom kha soup!!!! I love it!
Awesome vegan food and great staff. The kitchen is very accommodating to vegan and gluten-free. The curry is my favorite and there are so many options.
The food was amazing! Service was very good and the resturant was clean.
A very unassuming place located in a not so busy area. The food was excellent and had a good level of spice.
Great thai food pick within the vicinity. I was pleasantly surprised by the "experimental" peanut red curry pad thai, which I haven't seen--tasted great, with nicely done meat and noodles in texture. It was done super quick too. Would definitely visit again if I revisit, or lived in, Traverse City area.
Consistently great food and service
All the food was just below average. We ordered drunken noodles which are usually spicy and they were sweet. We ordered several curries and other dishes which we had many times from other Thai restaurants and they were all just sub par to any other place we’d been. Even the sticky (sweet) rice was barely sweet and somewhat bitter and the mango wasn’t ripe.
Our Thai Kitchen meal and experience was great. We dined in. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food was extremely fresh and tasty. We got crab rangoon/egg roll/pot sticker sampler platter and also got the chicken satay. Everything was delicious and pricing was fair. We will be back soon to try some entrees, which all look great!
We were passing through visiting the area. Okay, but definitely not the best Thai food we've ever eaten. Since we really enjoy good Thai food, we probably wouldn't be regulars if we lived here.
Food was excellent. Takeout or dine-in. Little pricey, but worth the splurge. Very good staff.
The food here is solid but Thai Kitchen is yet another victim of the pandemic and inflation. They have risen prices AND lowered portion sizes, making the value considerably worse than say two years ago. $24 for a shrimp noodle dish and some now pathetically small crab wantons. I hope it was worth it, I for one will never be back.
Meh... It was alright, I guess. They had a few Pho choices also, which the server had no idea was Vietnamese. Granted, he was young, so not really a big deal. Lack of training... Not sure that I'll go back, but it's worth a try if you like Asian style foods. You might love it.
Charged us $50 for absolute garbage slop. It really was that bad.
I was skeptical of going here because of all the mixed reviews and I should have gone with my gut. I ordered chicken lo mein. The noodles were not lo mein noodles, they were thinner than spaghetti noodles, clumped together, and lacked flavor. I attempted to make the noodles edible by adding my own soy sauce and seasonings. I ate maybe 1/8th of the meal before throwing it away. There was no soy sauce or cutlery in the takeout bag and it was overpriced at $26. When I looked at the menu online I thought it would be no more than $15 with taxes. I wouldn't suggest wasting money here like I did.
It's ok. Decent thai, pho, and Chinese options. It's gotten worse in quality over the years. Don't get the boba, it's hard and gross. But staff is always kind and food is timely.
It tasted like I was eating three day old left overs.
Pretty good food, great place to get boba, not spicy at all tho, bring your own hot sauce
Really love this place for great Thai food! It's quiet and the servers are attentive. As of March 2022 they are open in the dining room again!
If you like spicy be sure to let them know. The last time I was here they said that they always bring things a little under spicy to what you order because they will not take food back if it's too spicy for you.
Peanut curry pad thai: Ecellent
Delicious and quick!
My husband picked up dinner tonight and while we’ve had Thai kitchen before I can honestly say this was one of the best meals we have ever had. He ordered the new almond boneless chicken and the crazy noodle shrimp and man was it good! We will definitely be back. Compliments to the chef!
Always fresh made to order meals, I want to visit here once a week if possible. Just here twice now and looking forward to the 3rd 4th and 5th. Etc. Etc.
This place is amazing!!
I wouldn’t know because your hours are never right anywhere they are posted but we’ll try again next year
The food was good but overpriced. Ordered takeout, but didnt receive wat we ordered, cashier who calls her self " owners daughter" was unhelpful and impolite.
Wish they were more friendly and service was better but the food is excellent.
Very good food
Excellent food and service everytime. Thai Kitchen is my go to place. I would have taken a picture but ate my noodles too quickly!
LOVE the food here!
They have really good food and a acceptable wait time.
Absolutely loved each time I've been here. The food is amazing, the service very polite and funny. The looks of the place is calming and charming. But best of all BOBA!!!!
And they had a very cute little fish. The tank could use some work though but that's not to go against the place as a whole.
Love the food. Tasty and if you prefer, not super spicy.
Just ordered fried veggie spring roll & gang peanut curry chicken to go. Took approximately 15 min to get home and tear into it. Spring rolls were very good, still warm and crunchy. Curry is both temp and spicy HOT. But sadly no white rice to go with. ;0(
Double check your order before you leave.
Great Thai food, a bit pricy but for good quality
Good food! I got the orange chicken, which was really good, but I didn't realize it came with broccoli as well, which I think thins the sauce, so next time I'll ask for that on the side! Great customer service and quick as well! Everything tasted great!
I heard wonderful things about this restaurant, but was sorely disappointed with the take out I got yesterday. The drunken noodle was best described by my partner as "sweet pepperoni noodle". It had zero spice(it's supposed to be hott) and was just sickly sweet with no veggies and only a few bites of meat. The crazy noodle was no better. It's definitely one of the higher priced menus in the TC area with the smaller portion size and not as good of food. I will not be back.
Best food
Have ordered from here many, many times and every single time they knock it out of the park. The Gang Peanut Curry is to die for.
Great food! We both had excellent meals.
They can expect us back.
Really amazing green curry! Not very busy so I'd say there's usually no wait and they have fast service. Best sit down restaurant in TC!
We all enjoyed our food. There were several small kids in our group.
The food is AMAZING! Be patient, they are busy because of how good the food is. A regular stop when in TC
I ordered the green curry & it is the best I've ever had. They made 1 small error with my order & made it right ASAP. I recommend this restaurant to anyone. Thank you Thai Kitchen!!
The best Thai restaurant in tc! I used the ring dinner bell service during school while at interlochen and the food was always hot and the service was wonderful. Everything is wonderful and the spice range is superb! I usually get take out and the quality is always amazing. That being said, I dined in once with my family and we didn’t get our appetizer, my parents’ food was pretty cold and we waited for our meals for about 45 minutes. The waitress came by after about 30 and said that it was due to the influx of carry out orders. In the time that we were there, one family had finished their meal, a trio of women that got there about the time we did got all their food and a couple that arrived after us waited about 10 minutes to receive their drinks and hadn’t gotten their food still as my family and I had finished our meals. My take out orders are usually ready in less than 10 minutes so it’s pretty clear that the restaurant prioritizes take out orders over their dining patrons. I definitely recommend take out over dining in since the quality of the food is better and the portion sizes are bigger as well.
Best authentic Thai food in Michigan.
I got the General thao chicken and noodles. The noodles weren't bad but the chicken was very sweet and not spicy like it stated on the menu :/
So good!
Great food and service
Excellent food for a very good price! The service here was also fantastic, and the dining room was attractive, calm and quiet. My boyfriend and I adore Thai food and this is our new favorite place! 😊
Got the egg rolls and chicken fried rice on my way out of town. Ate the egg rolls and took the fried rice with me to eat at the airport. Some of the best Thai food I’ve had.
Thai Kitchen is my favorite local casual dining restaurant. Their food is so flavorful and the menu gives many choices. The atmosphere is a little...tacky...but the food is all that matters!
Little expensive but I love your food. Especially the curry fried rice.
