I recently visited Saab Sis Thai and I was thoroughly impressed by the authentic Thai cuisine they serve.

I started with the Tom Yum soup, which was the perfect balance of spicy, sour, and savory. For the main course, I tried the Pad Thai, and it was easily one of the best I've ever had. The noodles were perfectly stir-fried, the shrimp was fresh, and the combination of tamarind, peanuts, and lime were great.

Both times I’ve come here everything has been incredible. They have the best Thai food in Michigan hands down (with great prices!), and delicious drinks (Butterfly Milky is amazing). The service is great and it’s really nicely decorated on the inside. They are very vegan and vegetarian friendly as well. Highly recommend the drunken noodles, pad see ew, and peanut curry.

If aesthetics and flavor had a perfect rendezvous, it would be here! The pineapple fried rice—served in an actual pineapple—was a show-stealer, while the red curry brought all the cozy comfort. But the real game-changer? The drinks! The butterfly mix was pure magic in a glass. A spot worth revisiting, again and again!

I want to start out by saying that this is a lovely gem of a find. I’m so glad I was in the mood for Thai food. This was not only the best Thai food I’ve ever had, the best experience at any Thai restaurant as well. The interior design and decorations are beautiful, and all the workers are beautiful too. Inside and out. Attention to detail gets me every time. Will recommend and 100% will return. I will bring cash next time, so I can get a free Thai tea. 😊

Sooo good! Just moved to the area and it’s my fav Thai spot. Got red curry with beef (super tender beef and so flavorful) + chicken pad thai (delicious! can never get tired of this dish). Highly recommend!

We’ve been meaning to try this spot for a couple years now and I’m so happy that we did! The interior is so cute and unique, the service was quick and the food was fresh and full of flavor! I got the coconut noodles with chicken and my husband got the red curry with chicken. Definitely recommend either of those dishes!

Ordered Pad Se Ew with beef. The beef tasted spoiled and quite nasty. Noodles were good and so was sauce. But again, the beef was hideous. Do not order the beef.

Loved everything about this place. Just an FYI: what they consider mild you may consider spicy so be careful. There’s free two hour parking in the structure across the street if you want to save yourself the street parking fee.

The best drunken noodles. 5 stars.

I sat down to have lunch on my own since I've walked past dozens of times, but never gone in. The atmosphere is lovely, the food is excellent, well seasoned and the flavors are well balanced. I had the spicy peanut curry, and Gai Satay which is a chicken skewer. Proteins were tender and well cooked, and the curry was lovely with just a hint of nuttiness.

As a side note, I command the staff here for having the patience to deal with folks who are simply not aware of the level of spice that is amenable to their palette. The decor warm and inviting, but set with enough intention to be an alluring destination for clientele posting pictures of beautifully plated food on Instagram. The patrons of that particular habit provided additional challenges than one might expect, and the staff handled them tactfully and patiently.

Best pineapple fried rice in Michigan

Amazing food!

The pad thai was delicious and not too sweet. The crispy tofu in the pad see ew was a little dry, so I recommend not asking for it fried. I got mild spice level instead of no spice, and it was pretty hot. They had Valentine’s Day decorations up. It was busy on a Friday evening at 7:45 so you could make a reservation. The Thai tea was yummy.

Tun manages such a great restaurant here! The food is fantastic - highly recommend the chicken wings and I’m not even a frequent wings fan. Service is outstanding. I’ve seen the restaurant packed and they are clearly slammed but they serve their customers with respect. I’ve never seen it less than half full!

Where to begin. I went here for an early birthday dinner. The food was decent, but nothing special, so I'm not sure what the rage is all about. It started off all wrong. The server was an absolute snob and refused to explain the difference between green and red curry. I don't think she knew herself, because she tried to make it sound like I was stupid for asking and kept repeating that they used "different spices", like duh. A server at an "authentic" Thai restaurant who can't describe their food? And treats their customers rudely at the very start? I'm an ESL/Literature teacher, so I know when someone clearly doesn't know the answer to something and then tries to bully their way through it. The food runners barely spoke English and couldn't understand us very well. No hate, but it's pretty important to have that skill to work in that position. They also let our dishes pile up before waiting to clear them. I assume that they were badly understaffed. All in all, lousy service. Though the interior is nicely appointed, it's poorly temperature-controlled. Small heater fans dotted the restaurant (tacky & a safety hazard?), but there were barely any in the area where we were sat, so we were freezing the entire time. The bathroom doors were so close to the toilets that you had to straddle the toilet to get in and to close the door behind you. Plenty of potential, but if they don't get that stick out of their (well, you know) and work on their customer service, save your money and try somewhere else. Also--am I the only one not taken aback that they don't offer chopsticks? Again, an "authentic" Thai place would have that.

Pad thai I ate was good. It was about $15 at lunch (plus tip). I wish it was cheaper, but seems $15 is about minimum they charge for meal anywhere these days.

I requested my meal with no spice. When it arrived, one spoonful was so spicy that I was choking and couldn’t breathe. The manager or whomever it was came over and went through a long litany of why they can’t take the food back while I am choking, and I never ask her to take the food back. It’s a place. I will never go back to if they didn’t have a meal that was not spicy. They certainly could’ve said that in the beginning, I said no spice.

Ordered drunken noodle, got Singapore noodle(which was supposed to be spicy, I would prefer that). Very bland. I also found a piece of metal in my food so that’s great. Server misunderstood me somehow even though when I asked if the Singapore noodle is super hot, she said yes, so I said no, I would actually like the drunken noodle mild plus. Dish I got not even spicy so I’m trying to comprehend how that happened. Likely won’t be coming again

There Pineapple fried rice is amazing, I just take out the raisins. Also, there red curry and Thai fried rice is delicious. We drive 44 mins.

Second Time Dining In.

Stopped by Friday afternoon, hardly anyone else inside. Was promptly sat in a cozy booth and provided water immediately.

The wait staff was quite patient and were helpful with recommendations. Even as more customers sat down, they remained attentive. The kitchen staff paced my apps and dinner perfectly.

I decided to start with the Steamed Dumplings and Wonton Soup , both were excellent and quite flavorful. Then, I moved onto the Thai Fried Rice w beef , medium + spice. This was delicious and one of my favorite fried rice dishes I've ever had! The medium + spice was SPICY yet not overwhelming, just tasty. I would probably come back and try their higher spice levels (hot, hot+, thai hot). I washed my dinner all back with a butterfly lemonade which was delicious and refreshing.

The portion sizes are huge and I had more than enough to take home. Even upon reheat , Saab Sis remains undefeated.

I am a spicy food lover who traveled to Detroit. So I ordered Thai hot Lard Na noodles with seafood combo. The noodles are well-fried and tastes really good. I was expecting this dish to be exaggeratly spicy but it turn out just fine. The spice was still very managable for me to handle. My friends also speaking highly of their dishes.
The service is good, too. The owner is friendly and helpful. The environment is cozy and well-decorated. If I come here next time I will definitely visit here again.

Food is actually good, but the service is beyond slow. We waited just under an hour for one appetizer (crab rangoons) which should never take that long to make. In total it took an hour and forty minutes for one appetizer and two noodle entrees.

Our new favorite Thai restaurant. It's quaint and cozy, not tiny but not a big open room. The service is always very friendly. But most of all the food is delicious. The pad Thai actually has tamarind in it, so it has that bit of tang not just sweet. The pineapple rice is another favorite, and the tom kha soup is great.
One other note: the spice is accurate from what I'd expect, the medium plus is spicy, about where I like it, medium if I'm sharing.
I have even ordered delivery quite a few times, which is still great just not quite the same, still great.
