I am so glad Mai's Spicy Kitchen is just a few minutes away from my work place! They are located on Gratoit and 21 miles rd next to Subway. You won't be disappointed with the food. Everything is freshly made. The lunch portion size is huge! I ordered pork pad ped, pork drunken noodles & shrimp fresh rolls. Mai was so generous she gave us shrimp rolls to sample. There was so much food that I'm having the rest for dinner!🙂

Fresh Sushi! I'm glad we finally have an excellent local sushi place in chesterfield! They also serve boba tea, sodas and lemonades! I've been here twice already and will continue to go! My favorite is the Mai's spicy roll and Vegas fried roll are my favorites. Order here! You won't be disappointed!

First visit to Mai’s! One word… FANTASTIC! Our family (11yr & 6yr olds) absolutely enjoyed our dinner in this special small quaint Thai/Sushi spot! Had Chicken Pad Thai and Pad Almond both medium spice both were very good, lots of flavor and plenty of heat for us. I recommend trying here, will be back.

Fantastic service and food every time we go here! We typically do carryout and it is always hot and ready when they say it will be. Everything we have gotten here has been absolutely delicious!

I’ve gone to other “fancy” Thai restaurants in Florida, they PALE in comparison to Mia’s Spicy Kitchen, and are 10 times the price! Mmmmmmm!!! My pics are from different visits. We order the red coconut curry dish, extra sauce and eggplant, (Medium). Tom Yum Soup (Mild+). YUUUUMMMMMMMM!!! 👅

Food was amazing, got sushi, udon, and mai's fried rice. Only complaint was they advertise drinks like crazy but when we went on a Saturday afternoon they said they weren't serving drinks that day. Weird to not serve drinks but okay

Drunken noodle with tofu & Crab Rangoon are my comfort foods. I've ordered these from a dozen or so places around the Metro Detroit area and nothing compares to how they are prepared at Mai's. The portions are generous, so expect to be able to be full from half or 2/3rds of an order. If you live in the area they have a punch card system that is definitely worth it if you go enough.

Cute little place with good sushi and spicy food. I'm a spice lover, and their food is most definitely spicy. Everything you order should be noted a level down if you're sensitive to spicy food. If you go inside it's a small dining area but it's nice and clean. The hallway to the bathroom looks as if you are walking down the isle to be married, cute little place with delicious food. Give it a try if you're tired of blend and boring food, I'm sure they'll spice up your taste buds.

Ordered Pad Thai spicy. The heat tastes more like it was some oil-based bottle of liquid heat versus hot spices or peppers. Not the flavor I would expect when I get great tasting Thai food. Staff was super friendly. Food was fast and ready on time.

Quiet place beside subway. It's a good addition for Thai food with great portions and excellent flavor when we dined in. Hope take out reflects the same portions when we order in the future.

it was okay, everything was really salty

I love this place. I've eaten so much Thai food from so many places and everything I've ever eaten from this place is solid. I frequent the basil fried rice, drunken noodles, and pad thai. Their Pad See Ew is ridiculously good and so craveable. I never wanted to try it because it only has broccoli and egg, but it doesn't even matter. Vegetables are always fresh and cut perfectly for the noodle dishes. I usually order hot, but I'd say in general, their spice levels run a little hotter than other places in the area. "Spicy" is in the name for a reason. They also have a rewards program which I've taken advantage of twice: every 10th entree is free with their punch card. I'm very lucky that this is the closest Thai restaurant to my house. 💯

I got the S7 Prew Warn which is Deep fried chicken stir fry in a Sweet & sour sauce. It was so delicious with fresh flavors! Just as good as Khom Fai. I also got the Fried Shrimp Tempura Sushi Roll! Highly recommend! Yum!!!

Been here a few times now for pickup order and always delicious! My favorite is the Mai's Spicy Noodle, I had never had curry flavors before and tried it and now I'm hooked. The crispy rolls get an honorable mention. Only thing is the restaraunt portion to sit and eat is a little small but seems clean. That being said, I have always done in-store pickup to eat at home.

Potion is great, a single dish was sufficient for 2 of us. We ordered the Shrimp Kow Pad Basil Fried rice and it was delicious except the shrimp tasted like old dry fish(not sure why, was it bcz of some sort of spice or something esle). The Pad Thai was succulent, one of the best pad thai's I have had so far in the Mid West/East Coast region. It's a small place with not more than 3 tables so not usually ideal for large groups but the environment is nice. There is a bathroom which is clean and very well maintained. Service is good, food is prepared within 15 minutes of order so no extensive wait time.

Food was not bad enjoyed my drunken noodles could use a little more love we'll have to try again to get better feel. Customer service was excellent though!

I got the mild sauce. Way too spicy. In my opinion that is what you do to food that is otherwise tasteless.

Update: I don't know what's happened to this place but the last couple of times I've gone I didn't get any chicken in my meal just the potatoes which is ridiculous when I'm paying extra for it....the 2nd time it happened AGAIN. The lemonade last time was bland and weak, disappointing. I used to love u guys but you have failed me one too many times recently. I may give it some time and try again, until then the low rating stays firm.

Great Thai food

I have had their F6 pineapple fried rice twice. 1st time ordered extra hot and it had a good taste but not very spicy. I was told to order it Asian hot, the second time the taste / spice level was not as good as the first time.
So if you like it spicy this may not for you

Food was great the 2 times I have been here. We had a little mishap with the person who took my order didn’t ordering correctly which was a little frustrating but it was still great just have to be more clear what I want next time. Will be back.

Eh, if you like spicy this will be your jam for sure. Sushi was not great.

I have been to Mai's about 10 times now. The first time I got Pad Thai, because if that isn't good, then the rest probably won't be either. It was AWESOME. Each time, I've done either Pad Thai, Pad Ped, Curry Noodles, or fried rice. All have been awesome, except for once. Last time the Pad Thai left me....disappointed. It just wasn't as good as usual. I'll be going back because I believe it was an anomaly.

Spiceyness. Hard to judge. I get Medium+, and that is plenty spicey for me, but I know people that would consider it bland. Thst is something onr needs to experiment with, just like at every Thai place I've been to

Service is always top-notch at the counter. Very friendly.

Atmosphere? Well, there are 2 or 3 tables, really no atmosphere, but the place is very clean.

The best thai food in all of Macomb County! Such fresh ingredients and perfect spice proportions. The value is out of this world. So happy to have a great place for lunch. Can't wait to try the sushi!

This has been my go-to lunch spot every Wednesday for almost a year and I’ll keep going back. I usually order Curry Noodles, chicken, extra chicken, extra eggs, hot spice 😋 Occasionally I’ll order crab rangoons. It’s always hot, always fresh, always good. Mai knows what she is going! Check ‘em out and tell them Scott sent you… it will mean absolutely nothing 🤣

We order take out here based on other reviewers our order was ready and time as promised. Staff was very personable and polite. I feel like they may have mixed my order up a little bit. I ordered Curry noodles with vegetables. There was sparse vegetables and mostly noodles. I felt like this entree was just okay. This spring rolls were really good. I ordered Tom yum soup and they gave me the other soup with the coconut milk in it. Not a fan of coconut milk but that it was okay. The biggest hit of my visit here was the boaboa tea. Omg so good. My husband finished the noodles the next day and he loved him. I would go back and dine in next time. Overall, I would go here again.

Bummed I don’t live in this area. This place is a hidden gem. Both the Thai food and sushi and delicious!

Finally a decent Thai restaurant by us! Drunken noodle and pak prik are our go to. Once in awhile the food taste bland like they forgot to put seasoning or someone different cooked. Big portion sizes.

Ordered take out Pad Thai medium with chicken. Although the location is unassuming, the presentation and quality of my food is at a level you might expect from a higher end restaurant. Delicious. My only issue is I live over an hour away so have few opportunities eat here.

I stop here every time i’m in the area. The food is absolutely delicious. My favorites are the fried rolls, crab rangoon’s, and above all else mai’s wings. The wings are insanely good and you’ll have to taste them to understand what i’m talking about. Everything i’ve had here just tastes so good.

Ordered carry out and got the drunken noodle, vegetable curry, california roll sushi, creamy veggie roll and the fried tofu special roll. Vegetable curry was about the same as most other Thai places in the area. Really happy with the tofu sushi roll option as most places only offer vegetable sushi rolls. It was a lot of food for the price and will definitely try it again

My pad cashew was great! Good flavors and a generous portion. My girlfriend’s fried rice was ok but not great. I would definitely come back and try other dishes.

My favorite Thai restaurant closed a while ago and I was so sad since I couldn't find another place with good yellow curry. I gave Mai's a try and I'm HOOKED. I don't eat a lot of takeout but I've ordered from here at least a 3-4 times in the past month. I can't speak to most of their menu items but I've really enjoyed their curry rice, gang garee, and their spring rolls. I've been happy with the food every time and will probably end up getting some more in the near future.

Ordered seven different rolls and 4 of the nigiri specials. All I can say is damn, that was good. Dragon and Mays special rolls were great.

First time there, always skeptical on new Thai food places, flavor and heat level is the most important for me and they hit it on spot. I wish people realize amazing Thai food is hard to find. When you find a spot that does it right, you get addicted. Sick of asking for "hot" spice level and its nothing. I will be going here as my go to spot

Mai is the most kind and thoughtful person. She is so hard working and dedicated to serving her customers. Her food is always tasteful and fresh, sushi is always on point and beautiful all the way around! If u haven't tried the drinks they're to die for when you have a sweet tooth. Don't miss out on a great meal that will fill you up and satisfy you. Not to mention big savings because I always have more for dinner or lunch the next day.

I typically just order sushi because the quality is top notch and everything tastes super fresh from here, but recently ordered some Thai food and it was heckin tasty! The variety of food you can order is terrific and like I said, the freshness and quality of food is excellent. They also serve fresh spring rolls and I find it hard to find them anywhere else, unless you make them at home. The fresh rolls are SO good!

Plus they serve boba here! No more trips to Boba Bear on Hall when I have a milk tea craving! A great variety of flavors and customizations you can make.

We were served very low quality premade (frozen) pot stickers. We didn't eat them and I told the waitress, but they left them on the bill. The lack of integrity to serve something like that, (and she admitted they were frozen premade) and then refuse to take it off the bill, was shocking to me. I wouldn't go back.

Gave it a shot. Kow Pad is gummy. Would not recommend unless you can dine in, to ask for fresh.

Sushi was pretty good. Stir fry was also good. What wasn't good, was the pot stickers. They just reheat frozen premade ones. When we complained that they weren't good and we asked if they are frozen, she said yes. We didn't eat them and they didn't take it off the bill.

Normally I drive about 30 mins to go get Boba. When I heard they had Boba here I was nervous but I figured me and my family give it a try. I was IMPRESSED. Not only was the presentation gorgeous but it was delicious! I got the Candy Apple Special with a couple modifications and it was wonderful! Will be returning soon!

Their pad Thai is drowning in sauce! It was mushy and soupy and I just could not eat it. They made me another and it came out the same. I had to settle on a green curry which oddly enough has eggplant in it instead of water chestnuts. I think this place has changed their food too much to suit the tastebuds of Michigan residents. I understand you don’t want to lose business but don’t stray so far from traditional Thai food recipes or you might as well identify as a fusion restaurant.

On the bright side, the green curry tasted good and they subbed out the eggplant for water chestnuts. Thanks for making it right in the end. I was really polite about it so I hope it didn’t have extra spit.

Stopped in after a ruff day of fishing. My Buddy had Pad Thai #1 with thin rice noodles, & shrimp. I had Pad Thai #2 with thick noodles brown sause, & shrimp, both mild spice. Both meals was delicious with just the right amount of heat, and enough to take half home for lunch the next day. We're started with California Rolls which also was delicious. Loved our waitress, delightful young lady, whose Dad is the cook and owner. Most folks was ordering take out, we was lucky to get one of the three tables. We highly recommend Mai's.

Been here a few times this week and my experience has been great every time! Food is amazing, portions are really well, prices are great, and the atmosphere + environment/service is fantastic. I definitely recommend trying their drinks as well to go alongside the meals. And if you’re looking for an authentic spicy Thai restaurant — this is your place! It is relatively spicy so beware as they do warn you, but honestly, I love how their spices are. It’s rare to see a Thai place that uses actual Thai chili spices.

Updated: We decided to try carry out from here and it's not the same. The carry out portions were the same size or smaller than what we take home, as leftovers, when we dine in. That was disappointing. We will stick to dining in, at this restaurant, as we're paying the same price for less food when doing carry out.

Food was delicious!! Definitely worth a try!!

First visit to Mai’s! One word… FANTASTIC! Our family (11yr & 6yr olds) absolutely enjoyed our dinner in this special small quaint Thai/Sushi spot! All food was served hot and fresh with details to presentation of the dishes! Staff was great! Will absolutely be frequenting this place from here on out!

Very good food, although a little on the spicy side!

So glad I tried Mai's Spicy Kitchen! I had the crab ragoon and the Pad Thai. I even ordered my favorite, thai iced tea, and was not disappointed. It was so good! The service was amazing. If I could give more stars I would. This is my new favorite Thai food place hands down. I'm going to try the sushi next. It looks super fresh and tasty.

Alls I can say is wow. The food here is amazing. My kids and I went to check it out. Ordered sushi, spring rolls and dinners . We all got something different and we were all very pleased with every bit of it. Service was great too. The most shocking thing was I expected it to be way more expensive and it wasn't. I highly recommend and this place will be a regular for us.

The food was ok. The service was nice. It's very small, not very comfortable to dine in. The sushi was amazing! The prices were good.

Best Thai in the area. Pad Prik with chicken is to die for.

Never had bad food. Their pad Thai is my favorite! They have the best crab Rangoon. 10/10.

Had for the first time a few days ago.I was happy with the sushi.It was very tasty.

Light and fresh flavors, a little different from most of the options on the east side. Their spice levels are on the lighter side too. The Thai iced tea is the best around.

I never leave reviews but this is my first time trying this new Thai restaurant down the street from me and I am so impressed! First let me say that this is the most fresh Thai food I have ever tasted. We tried the pad Thai and the sauce tastes so light and fresh. I accidentally got the F7 instead of S7 (honest mistake) but I am so glad! I’m always afraid to try something new and Mai’s fried rice did not disappoint! The satay came with fresh yummy peanut sauce and even some type of sweet and sour sauce. We also tried the sushi. The CCA roll turned out to be the freshest tastiest sushi I have ever had! This is our new spot for sure!
