This a new restaurant in the old Egg Roll House location. The food here is amazing. Tonight was super busy, so word must be getting around. I hope everyone has patience, while they work out their processes. We waited a long time for our food to come out, but it was so worth it. We’ll definitely be back!
This place was a bit difficult to find as the previous restaurant's signs are still on the building. Once we arrived, we were greeted politely. The spring rolls filling was a bit too congealed for my taste, but they are better than the previous restaurant's. The space is large and casual. The tea was good and the pad thai curry was not too bad. The food seemed a little bland for Thai food, but they are likely catering to Mid-west clientele, and we tend to be a bit skittish about seasoning. Our server seemed a bit anxious, but all of the food came out relatively quickly. I don't know that I would make this place a regular spot for Thai food, but considering it is the only one around, it is okay. If you enjoy Americanized restaurants that serve Asian cuisine, you will probably be pleased.
I placed an online order at 2:30 pm to be ready at 5:30 pm. I arrived at 5:25 pm and waited until 6 pm for my order. When I got home, my Lo Mein didn't have any carrot or onion as described on the menu (it was plain noodles with a few pieces of beef - for which I paid extra). Poor service and mid - at best - food.
I know they are brand new, but it was mass chaos tonight when we arrived for dinner. There is no process for checking people in that are dining in vs people picking up take out. We had a group of 4 people cut directly in front of us. The person seating us proceeded to wait on them 1st, knowing they had cut. We were seated next and waited a lengthy time. No one took drink orders or anything. We ended up leaving. I was SO excited for this to open in my area. I'll be sticking with the Grand Haven location. If you aren't prepared with enough staff and processes in place, then please wait to open your restaurant. Surprised at the interior which could have been updated before opening. It looks like the same ugly old inside of the previous Egg Roll House.
I'm sad to see so many bad reviews comparing this new restaurant to the old restaurant that used to occupy the building. No need to shoot down a brand new local business because the prior business closed! I for one am SO happy to finally have a sit-down Thai restaurant in Muskegon! For years I've had to get Thai in Grand Haven or Grand Rapids because the "Thai" dishes at many fast casual places around Muskegon missed the mark. I've ordered several dishes from Rock N Thai and so far have been very happy with my meals and portion sizes every single time! If you like stir-fried noodles try the Pad See Ew or Pad Ki Mow, you won't regret it!
Great addition to town, I definitely recommend giving them a try! I lived in Bangkok and am pretty picky when it comes to Thai food. I wouldn't call this "true" authentic, but it's definitely above average for West Michigan. My go-to is the pad kar pao (basil chicken stir fry.) I prefer to order it a little dry/less oil. The sweet 'n sour chicken and yellow curry were great. Pad Thai is also solid. I know people are disappointed that Egg Roll House is gone. But don't sleep on this place.
We tried Rock N Thai for our New Year's Eve tradition of Chinese food. While it was said the company would keep some of Egg Roll House's staples, they certainly do not do those dishes any justice. The portions are small for the price. The General Tso's was nearly completely lacking sauce or any heat whatsoever. The fried rice was flavorless and only had a couple small pieces of chicken. The lime that was served with it was also extremely bad tasting.
It was nice that the sweet and sour chicken had some pineapple and onions, but again the sauce was lacking and the portion small for the price.
The crab rangoons were better than many I have had. I believe real crab meat was used.
But the negatives left such a bad taste in my mouth (both figuratively and literally) that I cannot see a reason to ever go back and do not recommend anyone to dine here.
We ordered Pad Thai and Lo Mein with appetizers. Food was great, everything was fresh. Service was friendly. I would definitely recommend stopping by.

Was seated for lunch with about 6 tables in front of me. After 45 minutes my order had still not been taken and the waitress complained more than she worked. Anyway, left and won't be going back.

Not the same as egg roll house!! They are using egg roll houses reviews from 6 years ago I posted something and they weren't there 6 years ago
Used to be Eggroll house. They have a new owner now. Everything tastes good. There were some changes to their Mongolian beef, lo mein. I tried their pho was really good and their Thai iced coffee was excellent. Now, I get that we have inflation but before they changed things for a family of 4 we always had a lot of left over. Now it seems like you get very little for the price.
No need to drive to Grand Rapids to get Pad Thai anymore, it was delicious. Definitely the closest to authentic you will find in the area. I will be back very soon!:)

The woman who took my order was rude. The Mongolian beef or General Tao’s doesn’t even compare to Eggroll house’s, which were great. None of the food was impressive or even good, on top of that it was cold.
general tso no spice
Arrived and was seated after a few minutes. Twenty five minutes later we had to flag down a waitress to take our order after watching people seated after us getting served. While waiting for our food my girlfriend finds lipstick on her water glass that she didn’t put on there. After 30 minutes waiting for our food we were told our food takes longer to make. After another 20 minutes we got up and walked out. If you aren’t staffed properly. And if you’re not ready to accommodate customers don’t open your location yet. Kind of a crappy way to end Christmas Day. Never will we set foot in there again. Nor recommend it.

Menu shows large and small Tom Yum Soup. When placing an order for pick-up was told only have one size which is large. When asked could I just get 1/2 in the large container and was told no! For being new owners surely not very flexible especially when advertising L or S!
Good Thai food.
If you had never been to the Egg Roll House which came before, you can stop reading. This is a great spot.
However the egg rolls fall far short of their predecessor’s.
I came back to the hometown expecting to go to the old Egg Roll House (family favorite for over 30 years and had been going back when it was downtown in the old mall) not knowing the Kims had retired and sold.
If this were in any other building in West Michigan I wouldn’t say it or hold it against them, but: If Rock N Thai got the Kim’s egg roll recipe in the sale (or can get the same ones if they were just from a distributer this whole time) they need to get them on the menu to honor the memory of best Chinese food in town.
Those egg rolls were a deep fried salad with somehow fresh feeling, crunchy cabbage and I’ve never found them anywhere else. They were a joy. All good things must end… except those egg rolls.
