Rangoons are the best I’ve had. Not too overpowering with cream cheese and can actually taste the seafood 9.5/10

Spring rolls are dense and packed with veggies, the cabbage pops out and has a slight kick and pairs well with the fruity and citrus forward dipping sauce. 9/10

Cucumber salad was good. Just tasted like cucumbers. But they were crisp and fresh. 7/10

The pad vegetable with beef was also great. I don’t know how to describe it but it was almost too savory. Very beef forward and extremely strong umami flavors. 7/10

Updating. Please tell your servers they should treat guests the same whether there is alcohol on the tab or not. Today was disappointing and not what we are used to. No follow up to check the meal, didn't inform us the lobster fried rice was available, took forever to get her back to get the check (I believe she only had 2 tables at 430pm). Loved seeing you greet guests and be present though, what a great owner.

I waited until we had three visits in to make sure this place was the real deal. Most often you go somewhere and love it, and then are let down after. I'm happy to report Khom Fai is indeed the real deal. The servers are all a notch above what you've come to expect today, so pleasant. The food is prepared very well, definitely portions to match the prices, and quality ingredients you can taste. My only complaint is the spice level is low so you really need to tell them HOT if you like medium spice. I highly suggest trying the devil goons and dynamite shrimp if you like a little heat!

I don’t recommend this restaurant, I had ordered my second drink, and they were already pressuring me that they had another reservation, they didn't let me finish my drink! They only give you a short time for a drink and to eat in a hurry!

This place sucks. We ordered takeout and our order literally took 2 HOURS to be ready. 2 hours for some curry? There was a line of people all waiting for their takeout who were all complaining it was taking the same amount of time for them also. Oh and when we finally did get our food the order was wrong and was so incredibly spicy that it was inedible (despite ordering MILD). Unacceptable experience. Won't be back.

I was not impressed with the food

Our server was excellent. Very helpful with deciding what dish we would choose when we described what we like. Food was tasty. Would definitely return.

My wife and I both got the Chicken Pad Thai. And it was not very good at all. No flavor. Pretty disappointed that we spent $40 for two orders.

A little loud and the food isn’t quite as good as it was a few years ago. We found another Thai place near us where the food has a lot more flavor. Plus side is the servings here are massive so you can get several lunches out of your leftovers.

This place rocks! We were delayed for our anniversary reservation due to some unforeseen circumstances early in the day. Called ahead to let them know we were still planning on coming in, and they were so helpful and willing to move some stuff around to still get us in. They made us feel so special and welcomed during the whole dining experience. The food was, as always, incredible and the staff was very friendly and fun to talk to! Cannot recommend dining here enough. Do yourself a favor and visit them!

The best Thai food around! My family and I love this place! The food, atmosphere, and especially the staff are the BEST. They make you feel welcome, treat their guests like people instead of $ and always provide an excellent experience. Devil goons are a must! & the shrimp tacos are my fav!!

First time here. Went early because I thought they would get really busy on a Friday night. We got seated right away, with no reservation.

Dark moody atmosphere nice ambiance. Our waitress was friendly and attentive.

We ordered the sampler. Chicken satay was okay. Peanut sauce was runny and salty. Crab rangoons were basic. The spring rolls were decent.

The noodles pad thai and fried rice were basic. The chicken fried rice had no flavor was also on the salty side. The chicken in the rice was good. Everything else in the rice was okay. So overall, it was basic.

Dessert was brownie and ice cream, which was good. There was nothing I tasted that blew me away. The reason I wanted to try this place is because I saw a lot of people saying this place was the best. Amy's is much, much better.

At the end of our meal, the place was not as busy as i thought it would be only about a third full. I probably won't be back.

If I could give 10 stars I would! To start, I was very impressed by the many menu options and great pricing. Our server was very attentive and provided exceptional service (she also makes a mean Paloma lol).The food came out hot and tasted amazing! Khom Fai is a hidden gem in Macomb, where great cuisine and drinks aren't that easy to come by. I have carried out as well as have dined in several times with different groups and the food has always been great with the servers being attentive and friendly.

The bar program is also great here, where they have a list of craft cocktails that are made properly. It's surprising (or maybe not so much) how many other bars/restaurants in the area have a hard time making a simple Manhattan properly.

Khom Fai has become one of my go to spots in Macomb. I always recommend it to any of my friends or family that are in the area.

Ever since I first heard about Khom Fai from a colleague that I used to work with at MORC in Clinton Township, it's always been my favorite restaurant to go to, coming from Pontiac.

The Glass Noodles are fantastic. They noticed we were whiskey drinkers and brought us a sample of a very old whiskey to taste and enjoy. Very nice staff and great food.

Food was great. Finally found somewhere that can make it spicy. I had the Thai Hot. I would say it was a slow burn and built heat. In the end, a 7 out of 10 for heat. Beyond blazen at BWW. Not a fan of ragons in general. These were amazing. The hot and sour soup surprised me. It had an awesome sweetness to it that I had never experienced in Thai soup.

Typically I like a Thai dish with a little more sauce but it was so good I can't knock a star off.

Price was more than I typically like to pay. But I typically hit hole in the wall. This place was beautiful and immaculate. Was way fancier than I expected.

If you go for lunch, only Tuesday and Sundays, make it a lunch combo and you will be more than satisfied.

One word... AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

First time in this establishment, so I indulged in a thai house staple. Pad thai. I added shrimp to mine and found their offering absolutely wonderful. Fresh bean sprouts and peanuts topped this dish, which perfectly contrasted the expected soft and lucious rice noodles and sauce, rounded off with firm and amply provided shrimp. No worries if you are afraid of thai "hot", my medium up was plenty tame compared to other establishments that are lessor in savory and more about heat.

What wasn't expected was the hospitality shown by the staff and restauranteur, chef Isaiah, who made himself readily available to his patrons, actively soliciting feedback about their meal.

They also have a beautiful and large selection of my favorite refreshment vice, Japanese whiskey. At the chef's recommendation, I allowed myself to indulge in a sampling of an 18 year old Suntory Yamazaki. The perfect way to end an excellent meal in an establishment that offered more class, comfort, and appeal than one could ever expect to receive from a "strip mall" Thai restaurant.

I look forward to seeing what Isaiah and Chris Sonjeow do in the future and will definitely return to Khom Fai many more times to come.

This place is amazing! The food is great, every time! Never had a bad meal here. Cocktails are also top notch. The owner is an amazing cook and such a gracious host. The new building is amazing with a tall bar. He has a great selection of bourbon and Japanese whiskey. Go to this Thai place if you are thinking of getting Thai. You will not regret it.

Heard such positive reviews about this place and that it’s one of the best Thai restaurants in Macomb County. I thought it was fine. I don’t get the hype and found it more expensive than any other Thai place in the area that I’ve been to. Food was fine. I asked for extra hot but it had barely any heat. It tasted fine though. My visit can be summarized as fine. Nothing would bring me back based on this visit.

We have been coming here for some time as a recommendation from a friend. This year we went for my wifes and others joint bday and they went above and beyond for us! Great team, great food and wish we can spend more time there, especially during the special events =)

The food is STUNNING, I am never disappointed. My server is usually Alexis and she is absolutely fantastic every time. Highly recommend, veg options are amazing.

I tried the food based on recommendations from several other people and I was not disappointed. I was there about 3pm on a Friday and it was quiet. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant is very clean. The food though! Really delicious! They offer an entire vegan menu. I would highly recommend dining here. My only critique would be that I hope they switch their to-go containers, they currently use styrofoam.

Isiah the owner is an outstanding chef and very knowledgeable about whiskey. Not to mention his amazing customer service that was on display the entire time their. Our entire group raved about the favors and overall taste of everything eaten. Selection of Bourbon is outstanding and the best price I have ran into thus far. Definitely a recommendation to go and we will be going back soon. Thank you for the amazing experience.

My favorite Thai place of all time!
The food never disappoints! I love that they have vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. The menu is fairly large and flavorful. A great place to go if multiple people have different dietary restrictions and taste buds. Staff is always kind. Our server this last time struggled a little with balancing their tables but overall it did not ruin the experience. It has a nice and clean interior. I personally tend to dress up a little more but you can get away with not being dressy.
I also really like that the owner really cares for the staff. I follow the facebook page and have interacted with them a few times over the years.

Food was great, drinks were good, but we went for a birthday and they don't offer a complimentary birthday treat. I've been to all sorts of restaurants and they have always given a little birthday dessert, but we were expected to buy one. Just a note for anyone thinking of going for a birthday.

Fresh ingredients, made from scratch food.

Cocktails were tasty, and the food even better. Noodles aren't overcooked, spring rolls are crispy and flaky on the outside and not a mess of mushy vegetables on the inside.

Nothing I had was hiding behind too much sauce. Typically wings and noodles are drowning in so much sauce it makes everything soggy and dilutes the flavors of the noodles, meat and/or veggies. Not here though.

Best Pad Thai!

Best spring rolls I've had in any state I've visited. They are a must. Can't go wrong with any dish.

This is one, if not the best, Thai food restaurant I've been to. There's a variety of noodles to choose from, and the fried rice combinations will blow your mind. Now, the wings, chicken tenders, and even their fries are well seasoned. Curry dishes are just yummy. The staff is courtesy, great place for a 1st date or an anniversary and guess what they have bubble tea! The owners are present. I haven't had the desserts, but I have seen them, and delicious just come to mind! Try this place. I'm positive this will become a regular spot or take out khom Fai deserves 5☆

July 2022 - came back here with my wife (her favorite place). Ordered the trio appetizer and it was still very good. I ordered the fried rice with chicken. A lot of food and it was good. Started out great by meeting Sarah. Just a wonderful young lady. It got better for me but this is my wife's place. I feel like she could eat here every day. She ordered some tiki drink and its BIG. Very strong but wife loved it.

May 2021 - wife and I went here for a date night. Reserved seats but they put us at the bar. We were right next to another mom and child at the bar. We noticed some other tables open we could have used. We never felt like we could talk sitting like this especially since a kid was right next to me. We could the trio appetizer and it was really good. The bartender was awesome. My wife loves the food but was afraid to order something new. She only orders the one item. I got chicken and sweet and sour sauce with rice. To me it was just ok but the sauce was a little to sweet. In the end my wife will still do carryout and support the restraunt. I would suggest you try it out, and they do have small plates. This place is ok, its just not for me.

A great thai restaurant. The quality is great. The hot and sour soup is by far my favorite item on the menu. Spring roll is perfectly done. Recently tried the specialty fried rice which was great. Portions are large. Unfortunately I had to downgrade my review from 5 to 4 stars after trying the NEW Brussel sprouts and NEW orange chicken. The orange chicken came in a literal soup of sauce and had no crispy - totally disappointing. The Brussel sprouts lacked seasoning.

My wife and daughter and I had brunch there this Sunday. The food was amazing. The restaurant is pretty nondescript from the outside, but once you go inside, you feel like you’re in a super fancy restaurant- total surprise, he would never expect it from the outside. My wife had the beef broccoli and it was amazing. I had the chicken and waffles from their brunch menu, it was the best I’ve ever had. I’ve been by this place many times, but this is our first visit, I wish I would’ve gone sooner. They also have an amazing bar with a wide selection of hard to find whiskeys. Who would’ve thought? Ha

Wow! The food here is amazing! We had a party of 6 and everyone loved their dish. I had the curry noodles and it is hands down the best Thai dish I have ever eaten. The Spring Rolls are not to be missed either, so delicious! Others had the Pad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice and Pad Cashew. All were very satisfied with their choices.

We have dined at this restaurant a couple times and the experience has always been absolutely wonderful. Our last visit was for our 20th wedding anniversary. The hostess help me arrange a special dessert to surprise my husband. Certainly above and beyond the call of duty and she did so with a smile.

We have been looking for a really good Thai place and I'm so grateful we found this one. The food was absolutely amazing!!! The staff was very friendly. I drove over an hour and a half to get tor this place and it was well worth the drive. I would recommend to make a reservation unless you are willing to wait for a table. Btw, it is totally worth the wait. I look forward to the next time I make the trip for some Thai food.

It can get a little loud in this place. The bartenders are awesome! Excellent food!

Food and atmosphere are great!

Ever since this place has opened I have never had a bad meal. The staff is absolutely amazing and very friendly. Jenna was the bomb and her service was flawless. The drinks are perfect especially when Jade makes the Purple Orchids. Also, do yourself a favor and get the Apple Pie Ragoons. You will not be disappointed! I recommend Khom Fai to all Thai food lovers. I wish I could give more than 5 Stars!!

The food was great. The drinks were very good. It is very solid in there and sound is kinda loud. A small party is fine, but a larger party, it's hard to hear the far end of the table. But the food is great and they serve appetizers first and, when done with those, the food came. The way it should be.

KF has been one of our favorite places since they first opened on Hayes. This review is long over due. Food is excellent. Service is excellent. Atmosphere is excellent. Even with a pandemic they have managed to keep up the excellence. This is one of few favorites that didn’t decline after Covid. Well done! Looking forward to many more dates night there with my hubby.

They are the best Thai food around. Are they more expensive than some places? Yes. Are you getting what you pay for and overall good value? Yes. They use high quality ingredients and prepare it fresh, that has a cost to it that I will gladly pay a couple bucks more for because it tastes a LOT better to do it right. All this to say, I really like their food and have ordered here numerous times and will continue to do so. I do a lot of takeout from here but its worth going in person too because they have great cocktails.

The ONLY complaint is that it was a little loud. The food was utterly amazing and the drinks spectacular. The service was fast, friendly, and unobtrusive but attentive. We will most certainly be back!

Had the best experience and waitress/server I’ve had in a very long time. Both ladies at the front sat me right away but asked if I had a preference of where to sit, so nice! Maddie Immediately greeted me with a warm kind demeanor. She answered all of my questions and was patient with me. Very knowledgeable on the menu and made sure I had everything I needed. Quick attentive service with great follow up which prompted me to write a review. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE the food as well, the drunken noodle keeps me coming back in addition to the Devil rangoons. I also tried the Brussel sprouts today and I am very glad I did. My food and drink came out lighting fast and I couldn’t be more pleased. Definitely worth a try if you haven’t visited yet, and If you have, you already know.

Celebrated my birthday tonight here had a very nice time. Food service and atmosphere were very good.

I tried drunken noodles and pad thai, they were very good! We asked for spicy ones and spice on the side but they weren’t spicy at all. Adding some lemon to both dishes makes a big difference. The place looks really good for a nice dinner date.

I just had to run in to make an adjustment to a takeout order I placed. Sarah and the girls at the hostess stand were amazing and so helpful. I have had such a bad day and Sarah, you saved me from one more thing that would have been a pain in my backside. The food here has always been amazing and the service even when getting takeout is incredible! Thank you again so much!

Everything here is so fresh! Just had the red curry and it has a flavor totally different than the fast food Thai joints. You'll pay a couple extra dollars, but it's totally worth it!

Great services, but food is average.

Excellent home-cooked traditional Thai. Delicious sauces. Plentiful portions. Almost everything can be made vegan. Potato Curry is excellent. Well-stocked bar with specialty cocktails available.

Went to the newer place for the first time for Father’s Day because my dad loves Thai food. We dragged along some people that don’t like Thai food. Everyone loved it and found something to eat. We had strawberries and cream milk tea, chicken satay, the spicy crab rangoons, Thai basil, drunken noodles, pineapple fried rice, and red curry. We also had apple pie ragoons for dessert. Everything was awesome.

There's Thai food and then there's Khom Fai. The food is good but there's something different. I'm not sure of the region of where the inspirations come from but it's not the traditional Thai food I'm accustomed to. Don't get me wrong, the food is good. Try it for yourself. You may get the same feeling I get or you may think it's the best Thai you've ever had.

My favorite restaurant. Such a special spot. The cocktails and food are always excellent. The papaya salad and spring rolls are a must have. Every dish I've had is excellent. You can tell everyone likes working here and makes for such a warm & welcoming vibe! They do a great happy hour too!

The place was so dark and had no ambiance although the food was quite good:-)

Khom Fai is our most favorite Thai restaurant. I recommend it to anyone and everyone. Red curry, pad thai, crab rangoon, drunken noodles, curry noodles, Thai iced tea are some of my favorite dishes.

This was the first time I came to this restaurant. I placed a carryout order. The hostess answered the phone and guided me in some of my meal choices. Everything was correct and delicious. I will be eating here again.

There is no better Thai than this place.

Tip: If you get mild spice at other places, that's like getting a medium spice here. In other words, Khom Fai's spice is a little less hot than other places.

Stopped in this past week for the first time and WOW! I’m late to leaving this review, however I just knew I had to share.
We had Alexis as our server, and she was seriously so sweet and such a good server! Very attentive, personable, and killer style lol.

Amazing food, and the owner knows so much about all the food and drinks. One of the best thai places in South east Michigan

Sometimes, I wake up in the middle of the night and think about the generously stuffed Devil Goons (seafood wontons mixed with sriracha and ghost chili pepper- don't worry- more savory than hot!), those perfectly sweet and messy chicken Wings, and that melt-in-your-mouth Yellowfin Tuna, and know that a trip to Khom Fai is overdue.

I discovered KF in February (they made a Valentine's Dinner exceptional with extra special touches), and have been back twice. We have had Amanda, Laith, and Leighann as servers, who were knowledgeable and helpful about Thai cuisine, as well as attentive. The interior is hip, modern, romantic, and clean.

KF's Happy Hour (T-F 4pm-6pm) is awesome and fresh and allows for people to try and split dishes they may not normally order, with a long and creative craft cocktail list (as of 04/2023, HH cocktails are $6 and select appetizers are $5-$10). My boyfriend and I like to order around three HH items to share along with one entree to split. We leave very satisfied!

Standout entrees that we’ve tried so far have been the Glass Noodles (very light and refreshing for a noodle dish) and the House Special Fried Rice (photo included- moist, fluffy, and mixed well). The servers will be happy to guide you through their spice levels.

I would recommend making reservations, but we have had luck grabbing a bar seat without one during the week.

Leave your comfort zone and try Khom Fai; the hospitality, atmosphere, food, and cocktails have exceeded my expectations and awakened my taste buds!

Booked this for a birthday and was delighted there was a birthday card, numerous happy birthdays from the staff and dessert! Food was good. Interior is small but boutique like. I'd definitely go back for another occasion. A bit nicer of a restaurant dress wise.

The highest quality Thai food I’ve ever had. Absolutely joy in your mouth. You first eat with your eyes as the dishes appear picture perfect. Quite pricey but a nice treat.

Definitely call ahead for a reservation. I'm glad i did. Awesome little place, the staff was amazing ! Great drinks. The food was incredible, i recommend trying new things everytime you go, because it's all delicious. Don't be fooled because of location. This is a top notch place. And they have Blatons all the time, so theres that too.

I heard so many good things about this place, so I had to give them a try (this actually was longer than a few months ago). I carried out drunken noodles and was very disappointed. Very bland and I thought it was overpriced. I couldn't believe what I was eating was one of their most popular dishes because it really underperformed. I've only had it that one time and I'll always give a new place the benefit of the doubt if my first experience is not a great one (maybe it was just a fluke or a bad day), but since I don't live super close and luckily have other Thai restaurants near me that I enjoy, I am not super motivated to go back.

That being said, the inside was modern, the restaurant was clean and the staff member at the hostess station was very nice.

Love this place. Staff is great. Drinks perfect. Food I call gourmet Thai! Brought a good friend this evening for the first time. He was blown away by how good everything was. We live in Bloomfield but 100% worth the drive. IMO - The Best Thai in metro Detroit hands down.
