I came to Thai Express for the very first time yesterday. The first thing I noticed was how friendly the staff was and how inviting the restaurant is. The second thing I noticed was the number of pick up orders they had sold. I was very surprised at how much business this place gets simply due to its size and location. Our server was prompt and polite. Our order was correct and fresh. I ordered the Thai fried rice with chicken and would highly recommend this dish. Overall my experience was very nice. I will be returning and recommending this establishment to all my friends and family. Keep up the good work.

Wow, for it’s very basic strip mall unassuming exterior, this place is a delightfully genuine Thai food experience inside.

The inside is very neat, clean, and welcoming. The staff that works here is super friendly and willing to walk you through each of the dishes so that you both understand and feel comfortable with what you’re ordering.

On top of all of the above, the food is even more so the real star of the show here. Genuine dishes that are prepared and presented beautifully and taste even better.

This has just become my number one Thai food destination in Grand Rapids!

Nice authentic thai place. We had a pad thai and pad seewee which was delicious. I did ask for chilli oil on the side which is just my preference. They have a one to 10 rating for spice level. We Went around closing time but they were accommodating to allow us to have food there after closing time. Note that this place has a break from lunchtime until evening, when they reopen again. There’s lots of free parking space available.

I haven't been here since college, and it was in a different building at the time. The servers are super nice and they still recognized me from my college days. I'm not sure if my tastes have changed over the years, but the food here seemed to have more fish sauce flavors than I remember. That being said, it still tasted delicious and authentic. I didn't eat any of the crab cheese but my guest said it was tasty. The unripened mango salad was very fresh with the mangos having a nice crunch to them, similar to papaya salad. My pad Thai, as previously mentioned had a stronger fish sauce taste than most Thai places, but it was still good. Tina's peanut curry was very unexpected. It was very soupy and had a lot more coconut milk than we were used to. The best thing they do here is offer unlimited refills on the Thai iced tea. You also get a spring roll with your meals and either cheese cake or ice cream for dessert, free of charge.

Food was excellent. I couldn't say enough good things about how good the food was. Everything was fresh with lots of flavor. My favorite was the beans in brown sauce which I can't remember what it was called on the menu. The crab ragoons came with a sweet and delicious sauce. The salad had a nice ginger dressing on it. The little cheesecake at the end was a pleasant surprise. The only reason for 4 stars is because the service was unbelievably unfriendly. She wasn't nice and seemed annoyed by our questions about the menu. I'd go back for the food and will just hope to have a different server.

Thai Express is one of those great places that you hear about word of mouth and then turn around and tell everyone else about. The food is always fantastic, hot and fairly quick.

The food here is decent, not great but not bad, but it is definitely not worth what you pay for it. The portions are small, not like you would expect from any other asian restaurant. I'm pretty disappointed i paid 13 dollars for maybe 8 bite size pieces of chicken, plain white rice and maybe 5 broccoli florets. The container wasnt even half full. Pot stickers are basically 2 dollars a piece after tax. This place is just not the level of quality or quantity you recieve if you're paying as much as you are.

Amazing food, amazing price. This has been a favorite place for years. Try the Thai tea, pad Thai of course, any of the curry "soups" like massaman, green curry, red curry, potato etc. They're all amazing.and the fact that dinners come with a spring roll and a small dessert incredible

I love Thai Express! Their egg rolls and crab rangoons are top notch. Their tom kha is divine. Not to mention you can feed two people for under $30, which is impressive in today’s economy.

One thing really unique to Thai Express is that they give you a complimentary ice cream or cheesecake with your entree. A really nice touch!

It's okay. We had Pad Thai chicken and peanut curry chicken. Vegetable egg rolls. The fried rice was different from what I'm used to.

1.The dishes is very small for the price
2. The waitress is kind of lazy. We have to separate the plates and paper on our own.
3. The food is not very fresh and taste not very good either

Awesome food. Never was a Thai fan, but now I am. Been there twice now. A little pricier than I think is warranted now, though.

- Pho Pia Tod: Simple light and fluffy appetizer to get you through the wait to the main dishes.

- Gyo Tod (Crab Cheese): Sweet and crispy with a creamy center.

- Goong Tod (Breaded Shrimp): A hearty texture, but very savory bite of delight.

- Kai Satay (Chicken Skewers): A personal favorite of what I sampled. Just simple chicken cooked with a light spice that was well complimented with the peanut butter sause.

- Kai Tod (Chicken Wings): Right off the bone with some uniquely almost Cajun flavor.

- Tom Yum Num Kon: Good with a spice level of 5 (had it a second time, it was that good). The bamboo and wood (DON'T EAT IT) adds an outdoor flavor.

- Kao Pad (Thai Fried Rice): If I frequented this restaurant, I'd probably get this! A wonderful balanced blend of spice (6 out of 10) with a selection of tender chicken morsels and it satisfies the appetite leaving you full!

It was Tuesday when I visited and there was not a lot of staff which complicated wait times. We were early and fine, but I saw a couple people waiting later. Food and service was awesome, though!

Great food. Everything we had was delicious. Be patient with the service, they do great just under staffed... plus it's worth it.

Thai Express is my favorite restaurant in the GR suburbs! Delicious food, the servers are all very kind and helpful, and the restaurant is kept very clean. My kids love it because with every meal, you get one spring roll as an appetizer, and a dessert! Highly recommend.

Best Thai I've found in the Greater Grand Rapids area. I avoid everything downtown and drive 20 minutes out of my way to Kentwood, because I know of no other location that will continuously leave me smiling after I've finished by dish!

Been going to this place since 2012 has always been good. Now that the original ow er has sold it has continued to decline. Now they won't even sell iced tea which they use to make Thai tea. I will never go back and recommend that others stay away. Guess old customers don't matter anymore to her. If it continues to de line and she treats loyal customers poorly won't last long. I used to refer this place to everyone. Stopped, and now I know why. Waitress was rude to me from the time I stepped foot I n door.

What a great place! We had two curries (green and red) and Tom Yung with mushrooms. All three as good as any Thai food I've eaten in Michigan or New York City. Fast service, generous portions. You can have spiciness from 1 to 10, but the food here is already pretty spicy at 5.

I'm being a little critical here having had top notch Thai food elsewhere. With that being said it was a good experience mostly due to the service and the vibes of the restaurant. It's a no frills family run kinda of spot, very chill and clean. The food was prepared quickly and was fairly priced.

I had a shrimp appetizer that my words can't even describe how good it was the sauce was a homemade sauce with peanuts in it you just have to try it. The staff there was very nice fast and professional as well it was very clean restaurant

Had lunch here with a friend. They ordered ginger fried rice, I had Thai Eggplant #22. Included Spring roll that was Crisp & hot. The food arrived quick, hot and delicious. Needed more rice for eggplant dish, a bowl instead of a cup. Ended with wrapped prepackaged ice cream sandwich & crunch bar.

Thai Express has always provided friendly service and delicious food. There are many gluten free menu options and also many dishes that can be modified to work for those that must be gluten free. Yes, you can get gluten free fried rice, thai fried rice, and ginger fried rice here! What has amazed me the most is that I'm remembered as a customer. My menu and preference choices are remembered. I'm treated like a friend, not just a customer to dine in and shuffle out. Very courteous and friendly service. This restaurant has become a lunch staple not only for me but for the entire office I work for. I highly recommend checking Thai Express out.

This is my favorite thai restaurant. The food here is the best thai in town. I've gone other places and every time I think to myself, this isn't as good as thai express. The eggrolls here are amazing and I usually order the red chicken curry.

This is truly a hidden Gem. So many delicious choices . I liked how you can order by number, in case you don't know how to pronounce the menu items. Pictures and descriptions on the menu were very helpful.

Spring rolls are the best

The food was absolutely amazing. Everything came out boiling hot. Which in most restaurants you don't find the food coming out that hot which was amazing. A sweet and sour sauce that they served what's close to clear that way it doesn't mess with your heart rate if you have it ...very thick and superb. I happen to order the peanut butter curry. Give you an option of how spicy you would like your food to be on a scale of 1 through 10. I chose 5 because I have a pretty good palette for hot food. Still cleaned out my nostrils. As far as this place is concerned not only why recommended but I will definitely be back very very soon.

The person I was with couldn't remember exactly where it was, but it was worth the wait! It is clean and has a welcoming atmosphere. The server was courteous and able to explain the menu options. Servings are huge. Everything looked and tasted fresh. I will definitely east here again.

Thai Express on Kalamazoo Avenue near 44th Street has been amazing with their mask and safety protocols since the beginning!!! I have been there about 4 times since March and EVERY time all workers have had masks on, there are several hand sanitizer available, clean ink pens to sign receipts, etc. Thai Express is serious about safety!!!
