We came in a group of 9 and the staff was welcoming and warm. Our meal was excellent. We had both sushi and hot pot. The hot pot truly worth the experience. Comfort food on a cold winter night! Delicious. The mango sticky rice was amazing. We ordered 3!! The Thai iced tea was lovely too.
I had a great experience at Sukhothai in Dearborn Heights! I tried their zabiha sushi and beef fried rice, and both dishes were excellent. The sushi was fresh and well-prepared, and the beef fried rice was flavorful with tender beef. The fact that they offer zabiha options is a big plus for those who observe halal dietary requirements. The service was also attentive, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant.
This is/was one of my favorite restaurants. We would make the 45 minute drive just to eat here. I love the food and believe the pad Thai curry and appetizer combination platter are delicious.
HOWEVER, the portion size has really decreased along with the price increasing. I don’t mind paying as I understand inflation and such. But paying more for smaller portions does make me upset. We used to be able to easily take leftovers home. Now it kind of feels like we have to “fight” over who can take more of whichever item while dining in.
Overall, miss the old prices and portions and would not recommend ordering single unless you’re a party of 2 or smaller to comfortably eat.
**pictures are old, recently the portions are significantly less than what is pictured.
Service was friendly and helpful, and food was amazing! The ambiance was pretty chill and relaxed, clean and simple, nothing crazy. We had the papaya salad, Shrimp Pad Thai and the Beef Gaeng Pa-Naeng. Everything was super flavorful and amazing, especially the Gaeng Pa-Naeng which came with rice and this super flavorful gingery curry which we all ate by the spoonful. Portions were quite large so definitely considering sharing with friends and family - or not :)
Great halal spot to try if you're bored of all the Mediterranean joints in the area!
Love this Thai restaurant in Dearborn. If you are looking for tasty Thai food, give this place a try. Their food is halal too!
They gave some fritters to much on while we waited which is a nice gesture. I got the Tom Yum soup and it has a lot of mushrooms in it. Would have been nice if it had a bit more shrimp but taste was amazing. Also had the fried rice which was absolutely delicious. I definitely want to go back sometime.
Very delicious food, generous portions, and a large variety of options
Fantastic food. Family run establishment. Personal touches, show how much they care.

Very good quality food for a fair price. All dishes have been excellent so far
Its my comfort food, very recommended for people from Indonesia or Malaysia who may feel homesick. Thai food is the closest food. All the foods are delicious especially the hotpot (only available on the weekend) and even the complimentary starter chips taste amazing. The portion is on larger side. The service little bit slow during weekend as many people are there. It has plenty parking. Most importantly it is halal.
I ordered Vegetable curry via uber eats. It is horrible. There no taste and the vegetables used is good and some of them looked like sponge. Rice is so bad and it’s 50% cooked. Finally I had a spoon of rice with coconut milk in the curry. Really very bad.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 pad Thai.
Great halal Thai restaurant
Great food. We had the Bangkok Chicken, Sushi, Pad Thai, pad Gra Prow Gai and the Gaeng Kheaw Wan with rice.
It was a busy Saturday and most of the diners seemed to have ordered the hotpot... Looks like we will have to be back for that on another weekend
Like the sushi, pad ba mee noodles. Hot & sour soup is great.
Had the Rainbow Roll sushi. And got an order of seafood fried rice to go. They were both very good!
Food was fine. We orderd the hot pot meal that supposedly feeds 3-4 people, however in our case we were 3 people( 2 guys 1 woman). And it was just barley enough to feed us 3.
Although the food was good and the customer service seemed fine.
All in all not a bad spot.
Honourable mention, the shrimp pad thai was absolutely amazing. It s a must try if ever visit
Love to try new places when I visit from Cali. I found this place on google and it was 3 min from me. Service is normal, the spot is spacious open layout. Now the important part which is the food. I ordered the Creamy Tom Yum Ramen. It’s looks amazing in the images and the waitress also recommended it. I asked what it has in it she pointed to the menu that does not explain what’s in it lol. So I asked she can tell me what in before she explained she said that I can substitute any thing in there with mussels or shrimp. I said okay if there is imitation crab in the Ramen I would like that to be substituted. Good came out nice Presentation with its own warmer to keep the broth warm as you’re eating. I love that idea. The meal $29.95 which I expected to my money worth of food. It had 5 pieces of shrimp, two muscles, an egg and four pieces of white circles that kind of taste like fish. Don’t think the kitchen added anything to substitute the crab. Anyways the the price needs to go down or the quantity needs to increase. Wish you best of luck with that. The quality is good the taste is amazing. I will try this place again want to try other items on the menu. I will update my review once I dine in again.
Food came quick even though it was almost a full house, kind servers and a pleasant and fun environment.

Absolutely delicious food. An excellent vibe inside if you want to dine in.
Best tomyam and hot pot in the USA.. felt like I'm in Thailand
Wow drunken noodles hottest I have ever had 🥵🥵
Decent restaurant. the service is very slow but the food is good.
Amazing Thai food.
New to me. So yummy 😋
Good service and good food.
We were driving to Canada from Detroit airport, and wanted to get dinner and came across this halal Thai place on google maps. The place was very busy on Sunday evening.
We ordered Tom Kha soup, sesame chicken and beef green curry, it came with white rice. The portions were large except for the soup. I really liked the soup and sesame chicken, beef green curry was also good but beef was not so tender. I would recommend this place.
The Best Halal Thai Restaurant in Michigan 👍
I Recommend the apple salad! The gang gai is my go to, but the pad thai is also very solid.
The food and portions are mediocre compared to other thai restaurants in the area
Honestly, the experience was stressful! I've been to other hotpot restaurants where they cook for you on the stove burner and serve your bowl. This setup is just a stressful dining experience, and no, I won't be visiting again. Also, the stove burner was way too close to my face when eating, so my face got extremely hot. Just an uncomfortable dining experience altogether. They also don't sell sides of rice. You have to buy the whole dish of rice, which is ridiculous. It seems like this is an overpriced restaurant with below-poor service. Even the seats are uncomfortable. They dip in when you sit down. Not fun, just stressful and uncomfortable!
Very delicious, nice relaxing atmosphere with friendly staff
Excellent food with unique items on the menu you won't find anywhere else!
I discovered this place about a year ago. I have eaten at Sukhothai at least oce a week. I drive by several Thai restaurants to get there. My favorite was the crispy rolls. The last three times I have received what I can only describe as inedible. I have asked them to not over cook them. They are dry and disgusting. I'll consider it an experience that I won't be experiencing again. I wish I could add photos. So disappointed.
Did a take out order twice the food is very pricey and I ordered the mango rice and the fresh egg roll and some other stuff the mango rice is not worth almost 14.00 and 10.00 dollars for the fresh eggroll with shrimp for just 2 pieces. the sticky rice was hard and mango was very sour and was not very tasty I tried to work with the restaurant but they refused bad customer service I would rather go to the different thai restaurants than this pricey restaurant there are a few thai restaurant in the area that would rather go that the price reasonable, fresh food, and has good customer service
If you like Thai food this is the place for you. I've eaten here 3 times, and all 3 times were delicious. I had the curry chicken, chicken fried rice & the seafood fried rice. The atmosphere is great along with the service. Enjoy!! 😉
Freshly made and full of flavor!
Great food and service
Love this place. Everyone's always so friendly, the food is fantastic, and the hours are wonderful for folks like me who have late shifts.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I recently visited Sukhothai of Dearborn Heights and while we encountered a few issues at first, I was incredibly impressed with how the owner handled everything. They truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience, showing a level of care and dedication that's hard to find these days. The hospitality was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and thoughtful throughout our entire visit.
On top of that, the food was absolutely fantastic. Everything was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. From the appetizers to the main dishes, you could tell a lot of attention to detail went into every plate. The service was smooth, and despite the earlier hiccups, the staff made sure we were well taken care of.
It's rare to find a place that not only serves great food but also genuinely cares about the customer experience. I highly recommend Sukhothai for anyone looking for delicious food and exceptional service. I will definitely be coming back!

Shrimp noodle stew mild spice soooo good!
The food was kind of pricey 16.00 for a small container of pad Thai that was average, but the staff was friendly
Had dinner with the family here, food was really delicious, good sized portion, one entree enough for two people. Plenty of options for people with varying taste buds including for vegetarians. Will visit back, although I was surprised it wasn't crowded.
We have been to sukothai so many times. We have dined in. We have ordered take out. We have had sushi, drunken noodles, fried rice, etc. it’s always amazing. We have had their sushi too. Soooo good. Everything is Made fresh; served with a smile. The crew is friendly and courteous. The ambiance is excellent. It’s always a great experience. They are halal. You can order ahead of time. They have a parking lot available. Wait time depends on what time of the day you go. Overall, a perfect spot. Do check them out.
I order 3x fresh rolls, S2 (Fried yellow curry) and pad Thai. The S2 was $20 and should have had coconut milk and the dish should have had some creamy broth. Instead, I got what looks like garbage. The dish was dry, the chicken was rubbery (not crispy at all) and there was no yellow or coconut taste to it. I honestly believe they salvaged the dish from the trash, heated it up and tried to pass it off as a $20 order.
We took it back for a refund. I will never eat food from this place, I ordered there before 2x and food was good. This time, it ruined my interest in buying from them.
I think if we were sitting down to eat, they would have prepared the dish and served it.
The pad Thai looks fine - I will eat it when we get home. The fresh rolls were good.
Awesome food clean restaurant excellent customer service
Nice restaurant with very good food. We love the chicken wontons, the noodles with beef bowl, the seafood bowl, the coconut milk sauce they make, and the courtesy chips with sweet sauce dip right after we get seated.
Customer service is okay, not the best, but also not the worst.
The restaurant is always clean, never seen it dirty and we go there about once or twice a month. I love their parking lot, and I love it when a business has enough parking.
The sushi is okay, but there's better sushi at other restaurants, so I don't order sushi here.
I've brought friends here, and they said they'll be back because everything was great. The cherry on top is that they have a full halal menu.
Hands down best thai food around. They are consistent with their high quality food. I've ALWAYS been satisfied. New favorite Thai food place 🙌
My recommendation: Pad Ba Me (savory/sweet & current dopamine food) I get it with shrimp, sometimes chicken and mild sometimes no spice and if I'm feeling wild I'll get medium. It's up there in spice. If I had a bad day I get extra mini corn. The Pad Se-ew (sweet) mild with chicken. Drunken noodles (savory), medium with beef. Crab Rangoon, and the rainbow roll are all top tier.
If you're reading this, just order already lol you won't be disappointed.
amazing food best Thai iced tea ever. Just amazing so good I won’t lie, gonna come here again and again.
Best Thai around.
Very cozy inside, food is great
We brought our friends who came from out of town last week because it was halal. We encountered a very unpleasant attitude and expression from the moment we enter until we left. The server had a very negative and disturbing attitude with her communication and facial expressions. She answered every question with an attitude even scold when we were paying. we know it wasnt about language barrier since we most know their language and had a friend from origin too.The food was ok but we will definitely not go back again..
2 sides of ramen noodles shouldn't cost a customer $10 when 1 package costs .25 cents in a store. At one time, it was $2.50, and now you are charging $5.
nice, delicious, pretty
I definitely enjoyed the food from here, along with the friendly service. Beware of the “Extra Hot” option…. You might not regret right away but the next morning! Whew 🥵😅
Decent thai food. Decent sushi. Not super clean in the dining room. Loved mango rice.
Always good! Always fresh!
Food was sub-par! Ordered spicy pineapple fried rice that was plentiful but dry & tasteless. They forgot to give us any spices and the extra heat on the side. So much so, I had to drive back to the restaurant bc the food was so bland to get the spices. Question: Who wants to spend $40 on plain half browned rice? Long of the short, we were deceived and won't be back. We were in town trying them out on a whim. What a disappointment unless you like bland rice.
Got a curry it was delicious, love that everything is halal too. Taste was on point and delicious. Service was good also.
Do not recommend at all.
I wouldn’t know what to say about the food besides the last time I ordered delivery, it was amazing more authentic then I expected, I am a huge fan of eggplant dishes and the Thai curry flavors. However, this time I ordered, the 2nd time ever, they did not deliver my food as I ordered online and tipped the driver 20% and would not give me a refund for my $64 meals. I am unable to pick it up and I asked for a better option, refund or cancel pending order so I could reorder through their new delivery apps they started using. Instead they said they are finding a driver and delivering it to me and don’t know how to refund me on their app anyways but 3 hours later I have not received any thing so they kept my food and my money, which is sad when I have been bragging about finding a what I thought was a new gem of a Thai food place. I got ripped off and apparently sadly mistaken on this place all together.
incredible food! it was extremely delicious and exactly what I was craving. I've tried out a lot of Thai restaurants in Michigan and this is my favorite.
Really good pad thai
Great food and service!
We went for Mother’s Day and was very disappointed with the service. My wife was waiting for her food that she had ordered but come to find out the waitress did not put it in. So while the rest of the family is eating away, the reason why we were there in the first place did not get what she wanted. Our waiter never came back after she dropped off our food and had to be flagged down after we wait fifteen minutes to pay our bill. There was also another family that was waiting for that amount of time and left after being ignored by the waiting crew while everyone else was being served.
This place is so delicious, the shrimper lover roll & Philadelphia roll is my favorite and vegetable curry add shrimp with rice and pad Thai is so flavorful and tasty!!
We love Sakuthai!!! The staff is very friendly, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is very inviting and kid-friendly. The owner is very humble and friendly, she knows us very well and caters to our needs the moment we walk into the restaurant. My son is 6 and he only eats the fried chicken, as soon as she sees him, she orders the chicken and makes him very happy. Her friendly demeanor helped us develop an acquaintance with them! We are so happy to come here regularly and enjoy our time as a family. I recommend trying the drinks and the tea!
Good food, fresh, flavorful, big quantity, fairly priced!
Yaya welcomed us in right off the start. along side their very friendly staff, the food was very very delicious. God bless you all. I recommend this place and ask for Yaya!! she truly has good heart for customers!
So dank I ate my weight in a variety of exquisite dishes
Come here all the time! Great food and service 10/10
Great experience. Wonderful soup, papaya salad and sushi roll. We will be back!
Amazing place. Highly recommend the Kao Soi. It is very unique and fantastic!
Great food and great service
The best food and service!!!
Just okay. However I'm not may be Thai food person
MIND BLOWING FLAVOR EXPLOSION'S WITH EVERY BITE!
The food was over-salted. The shrimp and "other seafood" were barely present in the dish, although there were plentiful helpings of rice!
This place has amazing food, HOWEVER, the wait is extremely long and their efficiency in taking orders via phone and online is TERRIBLE. I strongly encourage management to improve their system, as this could greatly affect their business. They have such a good atmosphere and staff, but they are at the same time understaffed and very clearly overwhelmed. I called just to be placed on hold for 30 mins and then waited over an hour for my food with zero updates or attention while in the restaurant. I’m extremely disappointed, as this is my 3rd time eating here, confusing to try to give this place a chance with the same result.
This place is fantastic. Everything’s always on point.
So the food is okay I love the beef Thai salad but they seem to be racist even the customer were just staring at the only black family in the restaurant never again will I visit also drunk noodles suck mushy over cooked noodles
Food that I had was decent,, but they gave me a tuna scallion roll instead of a salmon avocado. When I told the waitress she said that’s what I ordered, didn’t offer to replace it or take it off my bill. It’s not even close to the same thing. Very unprofessional.
The dining experience started out hopeful; however, when the waitress started Wiping her nose in her sleeve, things took a turn for the worse. I ordered the sweet-and-sour red snapper dish and requested no spice; however, when I got my dish, the spice level must've been the maximum They could make. Two dishes had to be sent back because they weren't good And the waitress got upset and stated: "We're gonna have to throw this away because we don't keep food" Then walked away, shaking her Head at us. The sushi was dry as well.
Needless to say, we won't be going back.
I only ever order out, but I am never disappointed.
Excellent food! Not so great service.
This place has good food but it's a little pricey if you ask me. I get a lot more for less at other Thai restaurants.
Amazing food
Great food
The Good: Food is delicious and authentic. Generous portions. Very friendly staff. Nice setting. Halal food.
The bad: You will have no idea what the price of anything is. On the front of the menu, there is a sticker which says everything is $1 more because of higher costs. Most pages have "meat options" pricing section, which you will have to guess what it applies to. Some pages have no pricing at all. When confronted with this at the time of billing due to confusing prices, ownership/management's response (not delivered directly) is pathetic "you should have asked". Tragic to ruin an otherwise wonderful experience and disincentivize from coming back.
Outstanding! Best Thai in Detroit, fast service, and very delicious food that’s non greasy and doesn’t make you feel bad afterwards ! :)
Food is okay. Overly spicy, almost to the point of the spice overwhelming all other flavors.
I liked my first visit here. I ordered the Curry Pad Thai. The expected flavors were all there. The heat was stronger than expected even though I ordered mild plus, (2/5 chilies) it was what I'd expect as medium from most Thai restaurants.
I'm eager to try more things as my first visit set good expectations.
One of the worst places for thai food. Food was either very bland or extremely spicy. No flavor at all.
I rarely ever leave reviews - their food is phenomenal. Super clean, authentic, and delicious. You can taste the quality of the ingredients, and you can taste the cleanliness of the way everything is prepared. It almost tastes like mama or grandmas cooking. I also love the good energy of the staff and peaceful atmosphere. Definitely the best Thai place around. Sushi and chicken curry were both just phenomenal, definitely definitely recommend.
Fried rice is horrible .has no flavor only thing you taste is over cooked eggs…very disappointing. The crab Rangoon was terrible . So hard if you’re not careful you make break a tooth. Tried it first time and never again!
I love thai food, and I have visited this restaurant at least every 1 or 2 weeks since they opened.
The ambiance is nice, the staff is friendly and parking is very convenient.
I always start with a Tom Yum soup and a salad or appetizer, then, most of the times, Pad thai.
This restaurant is 100% halal and food is fresh and portions are large.
Thank you Sukothai, see you soon!
I absolutely love this place for Thai food! The food is absolutely delicious. My whole family cannot get enough. The ambiance of the restaurant is so cute and inviting as well. I will definitely be going back time and time again, I can already tell. I’m still dreaming of the pad Thai, the pad see ew, the spring rolls, and the green curry. YUM!! The picture I posted was from a time I got carry out
I have been coming here since they opened and I can say that service has gone down drastically. On my last visit I didn’t even get water until I asked. No one even comes to check if your food was good or not. They just take the order and leave. Btw we were the only table at 9 pm on Saturday.
Food quality has gone down as well. The pad thai curry tasted way different then before. Other items were good.
They have removed a few items from menu. Like the biscoff desert(this was like a year ago but still it seems they have no authentic desert anymore)
I hope they improve as we used to love this place. Number one reason being halal and wife loves thai.
Best halal Thai food in the Dearborn area will definitely come back
Great looking place with friendly staff. Food was not very good. Chicken was super soggy and mushy. Fried rice was mediocre. The stomach aches that followed this meal were pure torment. I ended up on the floor, shivvering, moaning in pain, downing antacids like peanuts which is not normal for me at all. Probably will never be back here due to this haunting experience.
Took my family out for dinner, and I wasn’t necessarily impressed.
Atmosphere
The room seems like it could be nice, I didn’t really notice because there was a large party there that had left and their table just sat there dirty for the entirety of my visit. It was really distracting and took away from the experience.
Service
The service was decent, I feel like there were some staffing issues and that our server did the best that she could. One thing I will say is that they aren’t very attentive, seeing as how I received someone else’s order and that made me feel like they may have taken it (partially eaten) from our table to the back and may have given it back to them. Also the menu is pretty confusing.
Food
The food was decent, nothing really to write home about but they had an extensive menu. The chicken lollipops or (wings) were terrible, the Thai iced tea was fantastic, and the pad Thai was okay.
All in all I would say try at your own risk with a 6.5/10
The lady really had the nerve to give me a hard time about ordering my dinner the way I like it, rice noodles, eggs, green onions, bean sprouts, beef, shrimp, and brown sauce! Then gone say if I don’t eat it they are not taking it back! First I ordered that way because that’s the way I love to eat it! It should no be an argument over the food I actually love and spending my very hard own COINS on!
JUST WOW! Don’t get me started on Thai food. Everything from the food, to the service, to the atmosphere was just amazing. The food here was amazing and so filling(they have large portions). The flavor in the Pad see-ew (N4 noodle dish) were so vivid! I have never tasted something like it before. And their appetizer plater, was perfect! And their chicken, don’t get me started on the CHICKEN! It was my first time having Thai food and I’m so pleasantly surprised by how good the food is. I would tell EVERYONE to try the food.(plus it’s halal!)
Love coming here after a spa day with the girls. Just an amazingly relaxing spot with good food & great service.
Ordered for our staff Christmas lunch and it was absolutely amazing!
The sauce for the Crab Rangoon was delicious just wish it was more crab also the seafood rice was great as well.
Don’t waste your time. They will mess up your order and the cashier was so stupid and ignorant. the chicken was nasty worst place
We were visiting Michigan and drove passed this restaurant. We ordered the tom yum and the red snapper steam fish Thai style. The steam fish was legit thai level spicy. I loved it! Coming from Asia who had authentic Thai food before, this is really close and I truly enjoyed my dinner. Too bad we did not have extra nights in Michagn to have a second meal there.
Amazing place, service, and food.
Love it here, that's why we make the drive to eat there instead of the multiple options we have near us. Huge menu and the quality is always top.
Great food. Good amount.
Read the reviews decided to give it a try. The house rice was awful. It was very gummy and very sweet. There was more eggs and vegetables than rice. I ate two spoonfuls and became ill, My stomach is still hurting and it’s the next day. I purchased Tom Yum soup as well too afraid to try it. Entire meal in the garbage. Money wasted!!!!!!
Great food!!! So many flavors!!! Not one thing we did not like out of 3 dishes, curry pad Thai, drunken noodles and combo platter ! Mmmmmmm. Spent 50 but alot of food left over and was worth it
The owners stopped by my families coffee shop and invited us over. Great service, and the food was spot on. I'm so happy there is a halal thia spot in Dearborn Heights now that offers sushi as well. Very clean, lots of parking. Protip: Call in a reservation before you go. There is a delivery option via Uber Eats.
Love the food and staff. You won't regret it
I never leave reviews but had to about this place.. I’ve lived in the area a long time but never knew this place was here. It was 9pm I was craving Thai food googled any places around here. To my surprise this one was open and close so I got the shrimp drunken noodle. Food was amazing very fair on prices and fast service , much better than most places in area!!!! Will be back
Unlike most Chinese restaurants, the food in this Thai restaurant was really flavorful and delectable. A little on the spicy side but that is common in cuisines in South East Asian countries.
