Tiny restaurant dispensing Thai dishes such as green curry, mango fried rice & drunken noodles.
Our go-to local Thai take out! We enjoy the Pad see ew and Moo Gra tiam. Our trick is to order ahead for pick up and the workers are friendly.
I had to leave a review because the dishes we ordered through Uber eats were mostly inedible.
I like to start with the positives. The Tom Yom soup and Honey Chicken Wings were pretty good. Good flavor and cooked well.
I ordered the chicken Pad See-U. This was completely inedible. The chicken was dry and overcooked. It tasted old. The whole entire dish had zero flavor. I couldn’t stomach it and ended up tossing it.
My partner ordered the Khao Pad Thai Jungle Beef. This had very mild flavoring overall. He had to add a bunch of soy sauce to make it more edible.
This was the worst Thai food we’ve ever had and worst overall Uber Eats order.
Do yourself a favor and order from Rod Thai Family Taste or Thaitation in Fenway.
I've been standing there and waiting for additional more than 45 minutes for my takeout, which I expected to be done in after 30 minutes I placed the order, and the app says done. All other 10+ non-customers (app deliveries) were standing there and starring at those cashiers and waitresses, and they hided inside the kitchen. We saw all the food were well packed on the desk, but just turned to the other side, unable to see the name. We are attempted to ask could we check the name, they refused, we have to wait to be called. After another 15 minutes, they eventually came out, and started calling the name. Everybody who been standing there were freak out and exploded! WHY DIDN'T YOU LET US CHECK THE NAMES???!! So we don't have to wait while you're all hiding in the kitchen!
The tricky part of reviewing Thai Food is, I mean, its always good right? Well, the affably named Giggling Rice is no exception. Have ordered here nearly a dozen times and never been disappointed. Likely the greatest value food in the area, Giggling Rice always seems to bring it. The taste and freshness is delicious, and always beats any homemade curry I have ever made. I think they may have stopped, but they used to place a small piece of cardboard on the bottom of pick-up bags to keep the trays level inside the bag and help stop any spillage. I don't think they do it anymore, but was a really cool trick I appreciated!
Solid Thai Food in the Saint Mary's area of Brookline. They only have a few tables so I recommend ordering take-out. The food was made extremely fast and the pickup process was very smooth. I ordered the Pad See Ew and it was tasty, as expected. Prices are reasonable too. I recommend this restaurant for takeout.

They make the food so slow. I have to wait at least 30 minutes every time I come here just for 1 dish of Pad Thai.
She always rude
This has been my go-to thai place for years now, and I stopped by again recently to learn that the food and service are still as amazing as ever! I've tried most of their menu and the food is very customizable and flavorful, and I always order a thai tea too. Overall great good and speedy service (also a bit frustrating to see poor reviews based on delivery issues that the restaurant has no say in)

Amazing takeout spot, fast and friendly service. Would recommend takeout over dine in but the food is amazing, especially the gai grob ! Portions are hefty and makes it a good value meal.

Hidden gem for Thai food. Best drunken noodles!
Very tasty! Can’t wait to order again. I had Chicken Satay & beef with veggies.
Delicious. Will visit again
Small restaurant with delicious food. I enjoyed some tasty drunken noodles, and scallion pancakes with a marvelous sweet ginger dipping sauce.
Ordered delivery so only rating food. Overall average. Pad Thai lacked flavor. Drunken Noodle noodles were overcooked & mushy. Tod Mun was disappointing, small & too chewey. Tom Yum soup was decent, with a generous amount of meat & mushroom, but the broth lacked complexity. Can't comment on the Thai Iced Tea as it was missing from my order.
I come here regularly for pickup after night classes (the later closing time helps) and occasionally I eat in. Always prompt and friendly service from the girls there and excellent food and decent portions for the price given the area. Comfy atmosphere inside as well. I would recommend any of their curries.
I’m not the best at ordering outside of my culture. I ordered the pad Thai, and my comment section made no sense so they called to clarify. AMAZING pad Thai and crab rangoons ❤️🤗🤤
Good, fresh takeout. Reasonable prices. I usually get noodles. I am vegan, and they are always happy to adjust to my dietary restrictions.
This is the best Thai food I have had in my life. The prices are pre pandemic good, the food is nourishing and the service always fantastic. I adore it here
Food was delicious and the person who works here was super nice. I ordered fried mango rice which I inhaled.
I wouldn’t recommend the place for eating at though, it seems very takeout-centric. We did eat at the restaurant and they only used the same disposable utensils, plates, and bowls used for takeout. People kept coming in and out for food delivery.
Long waiting time
I used to work near Fenway Park and would order about once a week from this place. When I tried the Crying Tiger I was hooked. High heat, great flavor. My co-workers would laugh at me when my eyes were watering and I was sniffing. Never had a bad meal from there. It's a takeout place, so the atmosphere is meh, but I went for the food, not the surroundings. I would walk in and be told, "Crying Tiger? Here you go." I miss this restaurant.
Gai grob fried rice was bomb!

Great cute little Thai food to go place! There are a few places to sit and dine in also. The mango curry was delicious and came out quickly.
Good food
Edit 5 yrs later
Food just Meh I won't return, not very flavorful 😕
Ate in restaurant. Awesome counter-service type thai place. We had Ga Pao and drunken noodle and both were excellent. My wife is thai and we were both impressed. Most authentic thai food we’ve had around here for the price.
Delicious food and have ordered delivery several times BUT yesterday, I found an open metal staple in my dish. Luckily, I spotted it and didn't accidentally swallow it, which could have been very dangerous.
Too spicy for nothing. One pepper on the menu is just inedible if you're not used to it. Had to throw it in the garbage.
Popped in here 40 minutes before closing on a Friday night and ordered a bunch of apps and a few mains. It was busy but not packed and we only waited 10-15 min for our food. I love Thai and this was some of the best I’ve had - my favorites were the veggie fried rice and chicken satay (amazing peanut sauce). Such a great spot right on the green line!
Ordered the Pad See Ew on grub hub today. Tasted pretty okay, but the portion was small, and they did not use chinese broccoli, had zucchini ??
Tried giggling rice for the first time - I am very impressed with the food here. Super flavorful. You have made me a repeat customer!!
Front employees so rude
Friendly to go counter! Thought I lost an item; they reviewed camera and confirmed I didn’t have the item in their restaurant.
Ask for modification in condiments; like less sodium, sauce, etc. they are polite!

No frills place with limited seating but good food!
Their staff are disrespectful to people who are so irresponsible and arrogant delivriy
Very delicious and fresh!
If you’re looking for a solid Pad Thai spot, you have to give Giggling Rice a try! It’s my go-to spot here in Boston.
They have a large menu with appetizers, soups, fried rices, Pad Thai, curry, and other noodle dishes. There is something for everyone on the menu.
If you want a genuine, native meal- they have a small selection on the menu. It’s the first place I’ve seen that offers this. I’ll have to try a “Native” dish on my next visit! They also have a solid Chef’s Special menu.
To start off, we always order the Crab Rangoons. They are some of the best I’ve had. Perfectly made, not overly greasy. The filling consists of crab stick and cream cheese.
Our favorite is the Pineapple Sauce served with the crab rangoons. It pairs perfectly with the Rangoons and I honestly wish I had the recipe. It’s incredible and completes the appetizer. You get quite a few Rangoons, plenty for two people to share. They’re very generous with portions here.
The main course for us is always the Chicken and Shrimp Pad Thai. The Pad Thai is prepared with stir-fried rice noodles, bean sprouts, egg, peanuts, and scallion. You can also order it with just chicken, shrimp, or beef.
I have to deduct one star as they do skimp a bit on the protein added to the Pad Thai. My entire order had three shrimp. It was also a bit short on chicken. They would have gotten five stars otherwise.
The portions are very large and plenty to feed two people. If you order the Pad Thai, pay close attention to what OPTIONAL “spicy level” you choose. You can also get it without any heat, which is what we do. I ordered the “Mild Spicy” once- it was so spicy it was inedible. And I have a very high tolerance for spicy food. The plain Pad Thai without heat is phenomenal.
If you’re looking for a solid Pad Thai & Noodle spot, you have to give these guys a try! It’s always packed perfectly. The order is always accurate and piping hot upon delivery.
Their amazing Pad Thai keeps us coming back over and over again. I’d love to give 5-Stars, but the protein portion of the Pad Thai was very skimpy. If they can improve on that, I’ll be even happier. If they could add an option for DOUBLE protein, I’d happily pay an up-charge.
This is the best fried rice in Boston, in my humble opinion. And not expensive at all. We got the Gai Grob fried rice, which is like a fried chicken on top of fried rice, for about $13, which had almost enough for two of us. The chicken was perfectly cooked and with a nice thin crispy coating, and very flavorful. But the start is the fried rice. It is so good! Really nice depth of flavor.
lol Giggling Rice... this place is awful! The service here is the WORST and one worker in particular was extremely nasty with me after she hung up the phone on me while I was in the middle of confirming my order, cutting me off before I could ask some more questions about price. If I could talk to the manager I would of but this place is not worth my time or anyone else's. Can you do a ZERO STARS? Wish I could rate it negative because this place deserves it!
I got a very tasty vegan lunch here. It took about 15 minutes to prepare, so if you're in a rush, phone in your order ahead. It's a small place, but since everyone else was doing takeout, it was a nice quiet place to eat.
Great place to pick up last minute dinner. No frills. Fairly priced and clean establishment.
The best Drunken noodles ever !!!
Best Thai food in the world. Jungle Beef is my life <3
The food is good, but the fried rice made me laugh
Awesome for Doordash. Great crab rangoons and thai iced tea. The name is a bit goofy but I could not recommend this more.
Their food is so fresh & tasty! 😋 Love it!! 😍
Got the deluxe crispy chicken with white rice. Was good. Perfect portion size for me as well.
Very rude customer service. My food wax’s ready but they made me wait 15 mins more for no reason. Whatever I was trying to explain about the way I want my food, the receiptionist was not listening to me and kept telling me rudely that she doesn’t know what I am saying. Very bad customer rice and rude behavior. The girl even charged my food more than the price. They are real thugs.
LOVE my drunken noodles from here.. It’s so close to me which is pretty dangerous 😅
Everything is great about this place. Food, service, and especially Thai iced tea!! 10/10 recommend this spot to everyone!
Never had a bad meal from here my fav tai food around 😋. Must try if in area
I am basing this on the customer service as we did not eat, it was late, and despite having just closed, I asked to buy a few cans of soda. The employees working were generous in reopening the cash drawer to accommodate this request and even offered cups of ice. Looking forward to coming back and trying the food.
Their drunken noodles are very good. Lots of sauce too.
Amazing and Terrible depending on the item, Ordered takeout
The Gai Grob Pad Thai (Pad Thai with Fried Chicken) was beyond amazing in its catagory. The Pad Thai was nothing special but very good for the price and portion. For the quality of takeout the noodles separated perfectly and it still felt fresh rather than 30 min old. The crispy fried chicken that was on top was what made it outstanding. Somehow after traveling for 30 min in a sealed steamy container it arrived very crunchy, hot and juicy. I ordered this 3 different times and every time it arrived still crunchy and hot. For the price, quantity, and quality this is outstanding. Im not sure if it's even crunchier or better in store 9/10
The Khao Pad Jungle Beef (Fried rice with beef and other things) was a mix of good and bad. It was very oily but that is normal for fried rice. However the rice was very very old. Not the correct age of old that is typically used for fried rice, but falling apart and shriveled up old. The foundation of the dish (the rice) was bad so the rest of it was very bad. On top of this the vegetables and other fresh items like spring onion, were very old. The dish looked like it was from the day before or older. I can not confirm this but It was also possible I received mild food poisoning but I can not confirm that. 3/10
SO SLOW…terrible service
Best Thai food !!!! Order a lot from hospital and this blows all the other areas around for their menu
Tasty food but way too salty.
Best thai food everrrrr!!
The khao pad jungle beef and pad kra pao are out of this world good. They can get very busy, causing a long wait time for takeout. Would recommend always picking it up rather than having it delivered.
Enjoyed, three entree menu items that were all outstanding.
The Gai Grob Fried Rice is literally fried chicken on top of fried rice, next level stuff.
Best take out in the area!! I love this place so much and the people are super nice. Highly recommend the Gai Grob Pad Thai (the crispy chicken is awesome). Also huge portions
Walked down here from Paradise. It wasn't busy and the food was served quickly. Got the food to go and ate outside. The pad thai was excellent. I'd go back.
For the price, fantastic value
Legitimately probably one of my favorite Thai locations, if not tied with the other one or two staple favorites. Might have to do with it being one of the first places I tried when arriving in town, but nonetheless it stands on its own.
The portions are generous, the quality is fantastic, and the prices are phenomenal/competitive for the fact that it's located right on the border of Brookline and down the street from Fenway/BU.
Each dish I have had was well prepared, extremely tasty, and beautiful in presentation.
It's... okay. We've ordered from here a couple of times, and inevitably things are soggy that aren't supposed to be soggy, or lukewarm even though we picked them up right on time (we live walking distance). There are other Thai places around here that we like better. Having said that, we've also never had any serious issues here, and the people in the restaurant are perfectly nice.
Great duck.....
the food here is delicious (my favorites are the veggie pad thai, scallion pancakes, and tofu tom yum soup), and the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get- the pad thai is around $10 and I could easily get 2-3 meals out of it. Just make sure you order in advance because wait times can be long if you order in person on busy nights. Definitely recommend!
Fantastic!
Their pad Thai has an awful smell
Taking 1 hour to get 2 item and is not busy. Not organized and very not professional.
Great take out place! (A few seats) Way better than most other Thai places
It's that restaurant where they know you when you walk through the door.
I am in love with their food. Well, at first glance, it's ordinary food, but no. The meat dishes are very juicy, I don't know how to describe it, but this is my own. I like many of the dishes here. Love!
Consistent, and so damn tasty :)
Some of the best Thai food I've had on this side of the planet.
The best cheap Chinese you will have in Boston! Absolutely delicious!
Just moved to the area, first take out in the area and it is TASTY! I got the Bravo Mango Curry. Bursting with flavor, can’t wait to to order again next time I don’t want to cook.
The best Thai takeout in Boston/Brookline IMHO... get the deluxe crispy chicken
Always delicious!
This is by far my favorite place to get Thai Food in Brookline. The prices are lower and the food is better than every other place I've tried. And, I've tried a lot of them. I love their egg rolls!
That is not Thai force rice . This is Chinese . The spice is completely different . It has taste but it is different from Thai spice . I was looking for Thai not just spicy rice ☹️
Really quality pad Thai! Lots of options, but the bossa nova vibes made it pleasant to choose something...
Our favorite Thai food that we've ever had. Be careful - the food is so good it's addicting and you'll want it every day!
The "Khao Pad Jungle Beef" perhaps because of the name is a great meal.
I always order from this place but I ordered last week and my food was not right they gave me all this vegetables with rice very little chicken. Then I called and they was suppose to give me 50% off my order they took only $6.90 off my meal and it was $38.00 I'll never order from here again
Super fast service, great food and pretty inexpensive!
Very good Thai place, like their drunken noodles; when asked to have less oil in the dish, they’re very accommodating and the food come out in perfect consistency and full of flavor.
Idk, never went.
Conveniently located right off St. Mary's Stop (Station) on the "C" Greenline, this place makes some of the best Thai dishes I have had in Boston. A nice cozy place with about 20 seat, and their specials on the wall, its a nice place to stop by and grab a bite or take away.
When you come, place the order at the register with the staff and if you eat in, they will bring it over to wherever you sit.
The Pad Thai noodles are nice and chewy and is served with a health portion of Shrimp. The flavor is spot on and not greasy like some other places that I have been to.
The Indonesian fried rice was good by itself, however, the friend boneless chicken to me was a little too much on the fried side and could have been taken out to the fryer sooner. However, that is just my opinion, as other people in my party thought it was perfect and matched with fried rice perfectly.
We also got the drunken noodles and that was AMAZING!!!! the flavor was so good and even though I was full, I could not stop eating it. The noodles were cooked to perfection with a nice bounce to the noodle and the meat and veggies had a nice seer to. I definitely a dish I will be ordering again.
For the portion and price, it can't be beat. A great place to if you are in the mood for Thai.
FYI - If you are eating there, be sure to clean up after yourself, there is a trash can and a cleaning station for you to put your dirty plates and utensils when you are done eating. (Can't tell you how many people I saw eat, and then leave without cleaning, even though there is a sign asking to please put dirty dishes in the bin.)
Called asked for chili paste. They did not add. Food taste was the worst Thai I’ve ever had. I’ve ordered from here the drunken noodle was pretty good. But today wasn’t good as good the other dishes were terrible and bland.
Great tasting and affordable food
I outsourced dinner. Months ago
Definitely a good spot to stop by and have a delicious meal. Great food and great prices .
Nice homely food
Don't order delivery. My "crispy chicken" got delivered wet because it steamed in the container for an hour before it got to me.
Great food!
Best thai i have had recently!
Pad Thai is tasteless, soggy, and lacking enough sauce. Scallion pancakes are also soggy. Best options are the fried dishes...because, you know, it’s hard to screw those up.
Delicious food! Mostly a take out place but the wait for some dishes can run up to 30 minutes wait during lunch if you don't order ahead. Comparable prices to other Thai places in the area of the same quality of food. Definitely will become a regular place in our new offices.
Don't listen to the other reviews- not sure how this place has a 4+. It is cheap but low quality- I've been 3 times as I live nearby, each time the food has been bland. Don't expect high end Thai as the rating suggests.
Delicious food, decent prices for the area. A great spot to grab some quick Thai food and eat at very casual tables or grab to go. Definitely not a date night spot or a place to really go and sit for a long dinner. But for something quick and easy and authentic it’s a great place!
This has been my canteen for many years. They are very courteous, efficient, super clean, super yummy. They have real soups and very healthy noodles serve with big pieces of chickens and prawns. Their food is not oily at all. Very professional. They can eliminate all the sweet sauces for us upon request. Completely homemade and fresh. Only 5 mins from ChestnutHill. My family frequently chose this Thai restaurant over the Capital grill and the cheesecake. It is a gem.
Cheap and great Thai food. Spicy
Great takeout thai food. Couldn't recommend this place more.
유학생들의 한끼를 든든히 챙겨주는 태국식당
Good food and fast service. Not that expensive either.
Food was delicious. Would go back several times if we lived in the area.
Good food, few chairs, can be a long wait for takeout so it pays to order ahead.
Crispy chicken delight could have been a little more spicy but it was still good. Their crab Rangoon was probably the best I've ever had. Would definitely recommend this Thai spot if you're in the Brookline/Fenway area.
Amazing food for the price.
The option to add crispy chicken to any dish is pretty great, especially when paired with something like the green papaya salad. That said, this place has fairly typical Americanized Thai food—less flavorful, spicy, or fresh than one might hope for, but at this price point it’s not bad.
All in all, good value for a quick bite. The service is friendly and prompt and in my opinion, Giggling Rice is a good budget option on a block populated with generally pricier options. Also, in nicer weather this place expands their seating to the sidewalk.
Personally, other than the papaya salad, I’d say that the green curry is a good way to go.
Long wait. Terrible service
Absolutely the best country fried rice my family , friends or I have ever had in our lives ... Total hidden gem in brookline
Great neighborhood takeout joint
Yummy yummy yummy
Great food!
Got veg lo main and scallion pancakes for take-out, Yummy! Ginger sauce for scallion pancakes was fantastic! Got food very quickly.
Great, very informal dining place. Had Crispy Chicken Basil it’s was yummy & quick.
