Thai Restaurant and bar
We went in a large group of 10 people. They were able to accommodate us seamlessly event though they probably have about 30 seats. The food came out quite quickly. All the dishes were all very delicious. We had chicken satay, spring rolls, larb chicken, fish cake, grilled squid, crying tiger, padthai, duck curry, chicken basil leaves, pad si ewe, Tom ka seafood, fried rice, hadyai fried chicken with sticky rice and mango sticky rice. Everyone really enjoyed the food. The service elevated our experience of eating here. I decided that this is my favorite Thai restaurant in Boston. Highly recommended.
Walked in and immediately liked this cozy place with friendly service, pleasant surprise! Interesting menu, but not much options for curry dishes.
Tom yum Morfai $20 hot and sour lemongrass soup with seafood, served in hot pot with warming gel, so it was kept nice and warm till we finished it.
Pad Thai with shrimp $15-one of the best pad Thai we've tried.
Chicken satay $12 grilled chicken tender with peanut sauce
Kui chai $9 fried chives vege dumplings- burnt and drenched in oil !
Som tum Kung $12 shredded green papaya with shrimp in spicy lime dressing - dressing could be more sour..
Grilled squid $13
Tum tard $22 grilled pork with sticky rice
Mango with sweet sticky rice $10z-yum!
Raspberry mint mocktail $10 - so wonderfully refreshing and tasty!
Pineapple basil mocktail $10
Thai ice coffee $5
Thai ice tea$5
Will easily be my go to spot for casual lunches!
- THE WAIT: we walked in around 7:30pm on a Saturday, not too bad, just a 15 minute wait for the first seating, which was available at the bar. They do take reservations though through Google maps so do that!
- ATMOSPHERE: cute decor, very lovely, comfy chairs, nice dishes. I loved how the bar menu was presented! Didn’t get any but I heard their cocktails were great and unique. Chairs and tables might be just a little tight if you’re sitting In the middle of the restaurant
- FOOD:
Crying tiger: tender rib eyeeee and a big portion at that! Super yummy, Just sad we didn’t get more sauce with it. The sticky rice that came with it, leave it in the Saran Wrap until youre ready to eat it otherwise it dries out (noob) pricier at $30 now.
Papaya salad: this was fine! Light refreshing papaya salad. Wish it was a little tangier? Or stronger in flavor? But warm tender pieces of shrimp. Yum yum.
Beef Panang curry: this was good dish, will probably not order it again but just a solid curry dish that I’ve had before. The beef was a bit tough, but also probably because I compared it with the crying tiger ribeye I just ate hehe.
Kung pa: (I might have remembered the name wrong) but this was the weekend special written on the chalk board, southern style yellow curry with lump crab meat and vermicelli. This was soooo good! Genuine small but many pieces of fresh crab, flavorful, with a great bite of spice to it. We mixed it with the vermicelli and bean sprouts cabbage add on. Nom nom nommmm worth it for the $20!
Cries In Mango sticky rice, they ran out so we couldn’t try it :(
- PARKING: there’s free street parking right in front and around the block.
Willll be back and can’t wait to try more!
Absolutely outstanding Thai food…and in Brighton of all places! Each dish is truly authentic and flavorful. The cocktails are excellent and well balanced. I’m particularly impressed by the pad Thai because the noodles are served al dente with a good chew, instead of being overcooked like many other establishments.
The only issue I have is with the atmosphere, it’s a small space so the tables are crammed fairly close. Also the seats are really uncomfortable. The food makes it worth it though!
I’ve been here three times and I am still excited to come back again. If you’re coming on the weekends, make sure to reserve as it gets busy.
Amazing Thai restaurant! I’ve been to Thailand and their food taste authentic, well executed. This place is the only thing I think of when someone say Thai food in Boston. I don’t think they have the crab salad which is my fav but everything is on point.
Very crowded so the wait is long, about 40 minutes when we were there, but trust me it’s worth it. Space is also tiny and always packed. Parking was difficult we had to park far. Waiters were friendly, helpful, quick and accommodating.
Went as a small group with a reservation for dinner at 6 pm. It was packed full when we walked in so we ended up waiting a few minutes for a table. That was immediately made up for by the inviting, romantic, and hip atmosphere of the place. It's about a 30 minute walk from Boston College campus and the atmosphere shows this in a clean way.
After we were seated I ordered spring rolls for the table. My wife ordered the Panang Nuer, which is a rich beef curry. She said it was good, the beef had a couple chewier slices, but the portions were enormous so it balances out. I ordered the Ga Pao Gai, ground chicken with spicy basil sauce. I think I'm not the biggest fan of ground chicken generally, but I wanted to try. The sauce was great and the spice was perfect, it hit you but didn't make you need an entire itcher of water. I also ordered their Kad Pad Ga Pow, chicken fried rice, which was extremely delicious. Lastly, my friend ordered Keaw Wan Gai, Thai chicken Curry and he finished his bowl with a smile.
To finish off light, we ordered thai ice teas to sip and cool off the lingering spice. All in all the food was great for the price while the location, atmosphere, speed of service, etc. are hard to match around the area. This was a great first experience of Thai cuisine for me and I look forward to trying more.
A great little authentic Thai spot in Brighton!
Went there for a casual dinner on a weekend.
Food: The food was pretty good. We tried the Papaya Salad (sweet-sour with strong hints of peanuts), the Tod Mun (soft fish cakes - very tasty) for Starters.
Crying Tiger is a must if you like meat - flavorful steak with homemade sweet sauce.
We also tried the spicy Pork (Moo), which was our least favorite (pork was dry and it was not spicy at all).
Overall the food is good, authentic, but VERY sweet.
Cocktails: fantastic! We had the Rose, which literally tasted like liquid candy, and the Ghost Pepper, which had a wonderful kick if you like your drinks spicy!
Service: pretty fast, mildly attentive, but very nice.
Venue: the venue is very nice, street-food modern style, however it gets very busy with lots of people picking up take-out. Wouldn't recommend for a date, but perfect for casual dining.

Food was good. We had our reservation for 7PM and only got seated at 7:45PM, so that definitely ruined our experience.
The pad se ew and pad kee mao we ordered had clumps of black pepper. The dishes were otherwise fairly ordinary. The curry puff side dish was decent.
Not easy to find parking but can run in for pickup.
I brought a few groups of my friend here and they all loved it and it became their go-to as well haha. We love Tum Tard and Crying tiger. As a thai person, this is authentic and tasty 10/10
Busy restaurant for a reason. It’s THAT good. Dine in or take out, both are great. I love most of the stuff in the menu. Slightly pricey, but well worth.
I usually order the Crispy Pork w/ Chinese Broccoli on rice, the Claypot Shrimps Mungbean noodle, and the Garlic Pork on rice. Those were my reg meals. For dine in, I love their Tom Yum seafood soup, and their crab fried rice is GOOOOD.
It’s better to call and make reservations if not waiting time would be crazy.

Very delicious thai food, highly recommend the fried fish

I ordered Kar na mo grob and was very disappointed because 80% of the pieces which were supposed to be pork were solid fat. No hint of meat....just fat.
Food is good but waiter was rude
Had the Panang Nuer today, all meat is cut along the grain not against it so it's very chewy. Maybe it's supposed to be a drinking food? I know some asian elders like it chewy and flavorful. Too bad Im not that old yet, lol
Best Thai food. That's all that needs be said
Food were good and services are nice but a bit slow

They were very nice but food was way too sweet. Green curry, glass noodles, papaya salad, all sweet and not spicy.
My go to Thai place
Super flavorful Thai food in Newton. Highly recommend the duck curry and crab dry noodles.
Freshly prepared food, authentic Thai Restaurant, very accommodating to dietary needs. Friendly staff
1st time. Delicious!! Great service!! Very friendly!!
The curry puffs (esp with the cucumber vinegrette) are the most delicious app I’ve ever had!
Very good inexpensive Thai food. Nice atmosphere. Nicer than a carryout only place.
If you're looking for great Thai food in the boston area, I'd recommend Thonglor. It was delicious and the service was great
I got the chicken fried rice, it was ok, not the best I’ve gotten but very solid.
Overall just okay. We ordered the green curry and red coconut curry noodles with chicken. Both were missing ingredients listed on the menu that we were looking forward to. I asked for my noodles extra spicy and they just put red pepper flakes on the side instead of cooking it into the sauce. Our spring rolls were also burnt. Regardless though, everything was tasty, just a bit off.

We ordered tomyum noodle soup and the pad ped pla dook. The food is okay, flavor is good but too salty. The Thai Ice Tea is the highlight.
Just delicious! especially the crab meat fried rice...blew my mind
Crab fried rice and pad Thai both fantastic. Will be back!
We stopped by Thonglor for dinner. The restaurant is small, but it's still serviceable. It does get busy, but we were able to get a table for two. The staff and owner are Thai's. We ordered 3 dishes. The dishes portions are big. We loved 2 out of the 3 dishes. The Tom Yum Morfai with mussels, squids, and shrimps highly recommend. The flavor was really flavorful and authentic. The seafood was fresh. The Tum Lard is a must! Flavorful marinated pork with tum Yum papaya. I wished it to be more spicey.
The deep fried fish with herbs, vegetables, noodles, and two types of sauces. I like the concepts that you wrap it and eat with your hands. For 35 dollars dish the fish should be fresh. We definitely know the fish isn't fresh because the texture is mushy. I like the Thonglor sour drink.
Overall, the food is authentic. The food came out pretty quick. I would definitely come back and try other dishes.
The place is usually busy, even on weeknights, but it is uncommon to have to wait for a table. The food is fantastic and the service is friendly. Fun cocktail menu, as well!
I live very far away, but when I hear this restaurant, I come to eat and don’t make me feel bad because the food is so good. You have to try it.
The space is small so when it's full it feels extra-crowded. The food took a while to come out. The portions were good but the food wasn't all that exciting or special.
What a hidden gem!! Don’t come to Brighton much but if you’re in the area looking for some authentic Thai this is the place! The atmosphere felt like Thailand with its charm, food was flavorful and delish! My only qualm was I wish the portion size was bigger. It was so good and staff was so kind! Free street parking.
So so so good
Spices are very authentic. Little bit sweet than expected. Very good food.
Last night, I had Moo Ping and sticky rice , Kui chai.
Both of my appetizers were great.
^_^
Got this food delivered and I loved it! Thai food has been my go-to for years and I felt their green curry with chicken was spot on, so much depth of flavor. Their basil fried rice was also great, could definitely appreciate the basil and thai red chilies. Both were not very spicy (about 2/5) but still so flavorful. Definitely will be going back! It was a little pricey for quantity but on par with Boston prices
Edit: went back for dine-in. Food was amazing, def some of the best Thai food I’ve had. Got the green curry again and we got the pad kee mao. Both were so delicious and reasonably spiced. My stomach did get a little triggered but that’s a me problem lol food was very reasonably balanced and very delicious. P.S. the Jaew margarita was so delicious!
Food is amazing to sit in and takeaway
There's lots of good Thai food around Boston but Thonglor is my favorite! Every time I take a new bite I literally think the words, "This is cooked to perfection" LOL... like Ratatouille... Such a dependable delivery place, I try to order something new each time and every single dish has been delicious! I can tell from photos that the dine-in plating looks beautiful, and I think even in the take-out boxes you can tell there is lots of care put in. :) I love the pad kee mao, khao pad tomyum, and mango sticky rice. The curry puffs and keaw wan gai are also great!

I've been getting food here for at least a couple of years and it's really delicious. Every time I've ordered it has been consistent. Easily the best Thai food in the Allston/Brighton area and beyond.
Legit, long live thonglor
Best Thai food in Boston. Feel like I am back in Thailand!
probably the best thai duck curry ive had in the US... tender and tasty with some spice (id ask for spicier next time). we did the pad see ew as well which was an elevated standard. id say the coffee martini i had here was a slow burn. the flavor isnt as delicious as other espresso martinis in town but the effect is lethal haha! the hype at this place is real. the ambience the day we went was a bit smoky like a family bbq but honestly the dishes are worth the trek
Can only speak on the food for now since my first experience was take out, but WOW!! Where has this Thai spot been whenever I have craving for Thai food. Everything was so when seasoned and the spicy dishes packed a delectable heat. The pad Thai was hands down the best I’ve had in Boston and it wasn’t even served fresh from the kitchen. The fried chive dumplings were still crispy. Everything was just outstanding for a takeout experience. Can’t wait to stop by for a pleasant sit down meal!
Wish the menu was a tad more expansive. What they do though, they do very well. Like, so good.
Some dishes were excellent, others not so much. A bit hit or miss, but definitely some gems. Overall 4/5, although I admittedly have a high standard coming from NYC. The most tasty, memorable thing I ordered was the Bird’s Eye Chili cocktail. Still thinking about it. Things I would get again: Tom Yum fried rice, mango sticky rice, crying tiger. The mussels in the rice and Tom Yum soup we got weren’t super fresh. The 3 flavor fish was too fishy - we weren’t able to finish it.
Minced duck was interesting and flavorful I don’t think I’ve seen this at any other Thai restaurants. Their three flavor fish was delicious! The portion of the Rotti Massaman was a bit on the smaller side compared to the grilled beef salad. Will come back to try more different dishes.
Service: One of the servers was friendly and attentive, the other was a bit cold.
One of my favorite local spots! All of their cocktails are amazing! Appetizers and entrees were all delicious and fresh. My favorites are the Chicken Satay, Chicken Pad Thai, and Khao Soi! Thai iced tea is always a treat as well. Mango Sticky Rice dessert was delicious. Only minor complaint is sometimes during busy hours the service can be noticeably slow. Overall an extremely enjoyable spot!
Literally the best Thai in Boston. Service could be slightly better. Sometimes the food comes before the drinks.
The catfish meal was very delicious
Delicious. Kui chai
Best Thai place in Alston-Brighton! Both the food and cocktails are great. They really have outstanding cooking for the price. I just hope they continue to keep up the great quality despite all the takeaway demand.
Very authentic Thai food. I miss 12 hours restaurant that used to be in this spot, but Thonglor does not disappoint. The food is not watered down & reminds me of the meals we had in Bangkok. The larb, the crying tiger, pad see ew, and the pork & rice are all go tos. Honestly everything we've had here is better than any Thai restaurant in Brighton.
This is the best Thai restaurant in the Boston area. All dishes are delicious and the service is great!
I got fried chicken. My husband got shrimp. It was okay, but not spectacular
I came to Thonglor for a late birthday celebration. Normally, I default to ordering pad Thai whenever I go to a Thai restaurant, but I decided to branch out on this occasion, and I am happy that I did.
I got the grilled squid, pad see ew, and pad ped pla dook. The grilled squid was very soft, and the Thai spicy seafood sauce that it came with was so unique that I ended up taking whatever I had left of it to go. The pad see ew was my favorite of the three. It was sour and spicy, which I liked. The pad ped pla dook was too salty, but the catfish was cooked well. I also got a spicy drink, which burned so good.
There was only one person working when I went, but she was incredibly sweet. The inside is simple with a few interesting decor pieces. There is plenty of street parking.
Delicious Thai food
Horrible service.
My favorite Thai restaurant in Boston. Recommending the whole fried red snapper, Tom yum pork rib soup, and moo ping!
Delicious food. Fantastic drinks. Some of the best Thai food I have ever had. Would definitely recommend for a low key dinner with a few friends or a date night.
The Pad Thai here is on par with the best Pad Thai I've ever had. A lot of places do too much or too little, Thonglor is just right.
Me and a friend had the best time here. Incredible food, courteous staff and reasonable prices. They took great care of my friend who was vegetarian and made out of menu items for him. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Amazing food and the vibes here are so cute! Definitely cannot get enough of their food. They have so many amazing sauces that they make for their appetizers and their main courses are so yummy.
Amazing food! Been here several times and always stop by to pick up food when I'm in the area. The basil fried rice is my favorite along with the pad Thai and pineapple fried rice. Service is great, and the dining area is small but peaceful. Only caveat is practice your street parking :) Highly recommend if you're anywhere near Brighton!
Excellent food, great ambiance, great energy and vibe. Perfect for a Friday night date night. Will definitely be coming back 👍
I’ve been there many times with my friends. So far I haven’t ordered anything that I don’t like it. The atmosphere and service are nice. Easy parking is a big plus as well.
Great experience. Very good service and authentic Thai food. Delicious. Very nice atmosphere.
My husband and I live within a short walk from Thonglor, and this is our go-to spot for an amazing dinner out.
The decor is simple, but very hip and not overdone. Our service has almost always been excellent, although occasionally there is someone who is a bit sullen that we've only seen once or twice.
Now, onto the food...in short, it's amazing! By far the best Thai food I've ever had, and certainly better than nearby Thai North by leaps and bounds. I keep meaning to try more on the menu, but rarely get past reordering the tum tard. Chicken satay skewers are always piping hot, yellow and scrumptious. The Roti massaman appetizer is insanely delicious, absolutely addictive.
Believe the hype: Thonglor is lit.
Por pia and kui chai were amazingly flaky and flavorful!
This has got to be the best place I have eaten in and around Boston.
This place is wicked awesome, food was delicious and fairly priced. Drinks were beautiful and tasty, I think this is a great place for people like me who are used to ordering just pad thai to get more adventurous and try some new Thai dishes. Awesome new addition to the neighborhood
We were a group of 4 on Sat 23 Sep around 1.00 pm. We ordered a lot of food and the food was great but the service was bad. Her face made us feel like she did not wanna serve us. Server did not come to double check the food and never say thank you or anything. Just disappoint because we really wanna try this restaurant.
Good tasting food for reasonable prices. Definitely going there again!
Door dash order of crab fried rice, 2nd worst fried rice in my life so far. The fried rice was so over salted and still each bite of crab meat give me that stink crabby smell in my mouth. Extremely disappointed.
Good food and good service. Recommend for authentic Thai food!
Food was mediocre at best and small portions. Quality lacking and expensive.
A group of 5, showed up at 6:45pm, so many empty seats, first thing the host asked “do you have a reservation? if not you cannot be seated.”. Nowhere on the site stated you need to reserve to dine in. The negative review is not because we didn’t get a seat, the host was so dismissive and how she delivered the message made us felt so unwelcome. Was so excited to try this place because of the review, but with that kind of service, no thanks!
THE BEST mango sticky rice i’ve ever had in the US
Entered an hour before closing to ask if they would seat me. Host saw me and turned around and walked into the kitchen instead of addressing me. Very rude- if one hour before closing is too late then at least say that to a guest.
Great food! We had the roti massaman, pad see ew, grilled squid, crab fried rice and the crying tiger along with Thai iced tea. All the food was pretty good. Massaman curry was a bit too sweet and the roti could have been fluffier but overall pretty flaky. Crab fried rice was delicious and the crying tiger and grilled squid were pretty good too. Tea could have been stronger in the Thai iced tea but overall enjoyed all of the food.
Portions were large and pricing was fair.
Service was average nothing to complain about.
Would recommend others to try.
Good Thai food for a price, being in the USA. Very nice interior.
The food is always amazing! My favorite is the green papaya salad. We love you please never change :)
I ordered from Thonglor a few nights ago and was really impressed with the flavors. It tasted fresh and authentic. Spicy but not too spicy. I would definitely eat here again.
Absolutely amazing food , this place is incredible and the food is out of this world . My favorite lunch spot in the area by far . The service is amazing and the staff is so friendly . If you are in the area this is a must try .
The food was very good!
Every dish is top notch. Always get the chive cakes.
At Thonglor, authenticity of traditional Thai dishes seamlessly blends with the richness of prime ingredients.
During my recent visit for dinner, I began with Curry Puffs, which arrived hot and crispy from the fryer. They were mainly filled with curry potatoes, offering less chicken than expected. It was a bit of a letdown, but still enjoyable appetizers nonetheless.
The Pad Thai was a delightful surprise. Although its flavor profile leaned more towards sweet rather than the traditional tang, the dish still managed to stand out. The noodles were cooked to perfection and were impressively chewy.
The star of the meal, however, was the Khao Pad Tomyum, a bold, fiery, and flavorful rendition of Tomyum fried rice. It was a perfectly balanced symphony of spice, sweetness, and the aromatic trinity of Thai basil, lemongrass, and Keffir leaves. The dish unfolded a rich umami aftertaste that left a lasting impression. The initial few bites didn’t take my breath away, but as I delved deeper into the dish, each mouthful became increasingly satisfying.
Overall, Thonglor lived up to its reputation as one of the top five Thai spots in the city. Would definitely come back to try more of their offerings.
Everything is authentic and good, I liked the cocktails too
Some of the best Thai food you'll ever have
We came out to Boston last summer and found this gem. Visited twice in 7 days. Now back for a week and made sure we came back. Fantastic Thai food!
Just visiting Watertown for a week and I’m so glad I came here while I was in the area! Great service, excellent food and staff was very accommodating for a fish allergy! I ordered the Pad Cha Talay and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn’t tried it before. Thai tea and mango with sweet sticky rice were soooo good! Wish I was here longer just so I could try more from their Menu!
The restaurant does a wonderful job of being comfy, but not crammed and efficient but not rushed. If your a spicy Margareta fan, the 'Bird's Eye Chili & Coco" is a must have.
Great place , food amazing
Everything hits. Great staff and the best, authentic Thai place I’ve ever tried.
We dined in around 6:30 pm on a weekend and just beat the dinner rush. All of the dishes we tried tasted authentic. Our favorite was the Kai Tod Had Yai (fried chicken) which was perfectly crispy, very flavorful, and juicy. We also enjoyed the Pad Cha Talay which came in at a close second - the seafood tasted very fresh. We also tried the Som Tum (papaya salad), Roti Massaman, and Moo Makam. The portion sizes were generous and the food came out quickly. Would definitely come back again to try other dishes!
Fantastic, one of the best Thai places in Boston. Owners are genuine and kind people. The food is authentic, extremely well balanced, flavoursome, reasonably priced and come in good sized portions. You won't go wrong having a Thai dinner here.
I would not recommend this place if you are looking for gluten-free. The waiter was confused about what dishes I could eat and told me that a salad wasn’t gluten-free but dumplings and puff pastry were, which is highly questionable. I went with fried rice and it was pretty boring.
Unique thai dish options. The food is very good. Would recommend for everyone who loves Thai food .
Ordered takeout but changed our minds and wanted to eat there because we were in the middle of moving and had no furniture or utensils. I told them we could tip etc. and pay for service. They made a HUGE fuss and were so rude. The food itself is great (just ok for takeout) but the customer service is horrible.
Excellent food.
Always very tasty and great service!
So good
Loved the food, large portion. Service was a bit slow but food was excellent. I would recommend it. Gluten free options available if you ask.
Thrilled to find an authentic Thai food restaurant in my own Brighton neighborhood. We’ve been twice now and realize the next time we better reserve a table. The cocktails are delicious and the food fresh. Great menu. Lots of choices. Best tod mun pla ever. We loved everything we ordered.
Excellent Thai food and friendly staff!
